Best waterfront view of Boston harbor!

The staff at Courageous was helpful in helping us execute all of the logistics of our wedding day! We have been coming here for years for various sailing events and did not want to have our special take place anywhere else as this location means so much to us! The tent space is large to accommodate a large guest count and the outdoor area at the end of the pier was spruced up with some greenery to make it feel more intimate and casual with lawn games. The staff helped coordinate with all of our vendors and clearly showed that they know how to handle a full scale event seamlessly! Thank you Courageous!

Our wedding reception was at Courageous Sailing and it was worth every penny spent! You have to use their Tent vendor for tables, chairs, etc. but you are free to use any other vendors for other stuff. We had some restraints in the beginning with regard to the site having enough event permits from the City of Boston but everything worked out in the end. The staff was great, answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The view is amazing and we would not have wanted to have our wedding at another venue!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at the Courageous Sailing Center. The staff was so kind and listened to our feedback with careful attention. We loved the fact that our site fee went to support an important non-profit. It's impossible to find a better view of the city skyline than from Pier 4 and the tent they provide is the perfect raw space to transform. We'd do it all over again and still choose Courageous for it's central (perfect!) location, laid-back feel and professional staff.

First, the positives. This is an amazing place to have a wedding with just the most spectacular view of Boston. There aren't that many places to have a wedding on the water in the city, and this one is cool because you see the skyline, rather than looking over at Eastie or Cambridge. You do have to basically bring in everything from porta-potties to forks, but for us that was actually a perk because we could customize everything to how we wanted. And it's nice to support Courageous, which is a great non-profit sailing organization.

But, this can also be a really tough place to have a wedding. First, the tent floods. Yeah, you think you're okay because you have this huge tent, but if it rains more than a sprinkle, there will be only one dry spot in the middle of the tent. We lost hours of our band's time because all their equipment got soaked, since the spot where they require the band to be is a lake if it rains. If you have your wedding there, best to rent a stage for the band so you can avoid that. Also, the staff is there because they love sailing, NOT to run events. I don't hold that against them necessarily, but there was a lot of information that was not communicated to us until the week before the event that made our lives alot harder. For example, there was another event there that also had to rent porta-potties, and we could have shared with them (cheaper for both of us), but instead both events had to pay extra for quick-turnaround deliveries. As far as the rain, even on the day of, I thought they could have been more proactive about warning us about the potential for flooding but as far as I know they didn't. Our wedding was a great day regardless, but I was disappointed with this venue.
