I bought my dress from Country Bridal in 2018. My wedding was suppose to be in 2020 (but we all know what happened in 2020!). I wasn't able to wear it until just this past weekend (2022).
The girls at Country Bridal were so fun and easy to work with! And super flexible with all the changes and uncertainty at that time. We were also going to rent suits for the guys through them, but when cancelled our wedding, they were very fair with refunds.
I found my dress and they altered it and made the entire process so easy. They also celebrate when you find your dress with a glass of champagne and a cute photo! -

Excellent experience during an insane time
Like many trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic - after changing plans four times, my partner and I decided to take 2020 back and elope. I had originally wanted to get a custom dress made (I'm over 6' and have long limbs), but with this new plan I had to find a dress in a matter of six weeks. I found some (begrudgingly) that I thought would fit my picky taste - and the closest shop that carried them was Country Bridals. An hour and a half each way from me. It's my wedding day, who cares about the drive - let's make the appointment. From beginning to end I worked with Elicia and honestly, she was a pleasure to work with. She pulled a ton of dresses for me - and when I tried on my #1 pick first and uh, hated it - she had plenty for me to try on. I am not great at trying on clothes, nevermind something this important, and I get uncomfortable with feeling like "a burden" - despite my anxiety, Elicia made sure that I was comfortable and that the appointment was going smoothly throughout my 90 minute appointment. Ironically, I found a dress that I never would have picked out - and fell in love with it. (You hear things like that - that you'll 'know' when you find the dress - I always thought it sounded corny, but looking in the mirror that first time - I knew). To make a long review shorter - I had to make two more trips (alterations, and then final try on) to Jaffrey and I can truly say that those 9 hours of driving were worth it. (Even after googling my dress after my appt and realizing that my dress I had just ordered was in a shop 5 minutes from me - that's how much I liked Country Bridals). They take covid seriously, they're affordable, and the alterations were done well and very quickly. I cannot recommend them enough - if my driving that much for a dress I could have gotten closer isn't an indicator, I don't know what is. Wedding dress shopping can be so overwhelming, especially for a perfectionist like me but they made it doable and realistic and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Elicia was so kind and easy to work with. It was a nice mix of stylist pulled dressed and ones I picked out myself. I found my dress on my first visit and they included some sweet perks since I purchased on my first visit which I thought was really nice. They had a great selection of plua size dresses. Purchased and altered my wedding dress with Country Bridals. From the first day choosing a dress to the last fitting, they were amazing! We were able to look around and choose dresses to try on ourselves, as well as the staff, which made extra fun! They have an amazing selection of gowns, as well as a rather large sale section. I was so impressed that for a small space they were able to offer so much, especially in my lower-budget price range. The staff are all so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, too! This is the place to go for any of your wedding attire! As soon as I walked in the door they made me feel welcome and helped me right away! They have beautiful dresses at affordable prices. Kelly was my consultant and she was outstanding! I was nervous at first only having 90 minutes for an appointment as I had at least 13 dresses to try on and I tend to be very indecisive. She was so helpful and made sure I tried on all the dresses I liked and still had time to go back to my top ones I was torn between! I never felt rushed or like I was on a time crunch! She was so patient and made the experience that much more fun! I highly recommend coming here! I can't wait to come back!Country Bridals and Formal Wear's reply:

Went to country bridal after many many recommendations from friends and coworkers- glad I listened! Appointment was for 9 am and had my dress chosen by 1030 am! There is a TON of variety here which helped me chose what felt best on me! I highly recommend Casey- she is kind, patient, and supportive without being overbearing as you have your special day. I never expected to find my dream dress so quickly, thanks to country bridal I did!

I also filled out the survey beforehand and they put in a few picks of their own! The last pick that I didn't chose was the dress I was dying to try on when I saw it (i actually saved that one for the very last to put on) fell in love it was perfect and it was STUNNING!!!!

I actually came to their store all the way from Boston because I was struggling to find a store with many short, tea length, or high/low dresses. They had so many great options for this type of look! I will definitely be back! -

Jeanne Sent on 11/04/2015After some high pressure sales and being talked into a dress I did not end up liking from David's Bridal (special order so no return), I decided to shop around a bit. Coming from a small rural area, there are not many options for Brides/Bridesmaids locally. Country Bridals was nearly 2 hours away from me but a breath of fresh air in how the staff were low key and down to earth. I ended up trying on a dress I never would have picked for myself and received rave complimentary reviews from all my family and friends about how gorgeous I looked. :-) Alterations were done professionally and I had an overall great experience with the staff here. Please do yourself a favor and skip the high pressure sales of a David's Bridal when you are most vulnerable and head for a small town shop like Country Bridal where you will be treated as a real bride to be with no pressure to purchase anything other than the one dress you feel is "the one." :-) Thank you to all the staff at Country Bridal for helping to make my wedding day that much more special with the perfect dress! -

I bought my dress on my first visit- it was the 3rd dress I tried on and I knew I wasn't going to find a more perfect dress anywhere else. I got discounts on my accessories for buying my dress on my first visit. The dress was a perfect fit when it came in so I didn't need alterations. They DID add hooks for a bustle for me and it worked out great. I would definitely recommend Country Bridals to anyone in the market for a wedding gown. They let you look around and pick what you want to try. They will also help pick out dresses based on what you are looking for. -

Hilary Sent on 06/23/2015I went to Country Bridal based upon a family and friend recommendation and I could not have been happier! Found my dress on my first trip, third dress I put on! They had so many to choose friend and some of the exact designers I was most interested in! They had plenty of accessories and veils to choose from and I did end up purchasing a veil and belt to go along with my gorgeous dress! After some weight loss and a particular fit to my dress, the team worked through 4 fittings to get it just perfect! Although the shop was about 1.5 hours from my house, it was well worth every trip! Great customer service, attentive staff, and an overall great experience! Smaller town shop with bigger city options! A great combo! -

Kelsie Sent on 09/17/2014I am so glad that I decided to check out Country Bridals. My experience trying on dresses was wonderful, it felt very private and personal and we were able to pull all of the gowns (in large sample sizes that fit me!) that we liked at once to try them on, as opposed to the big bridal chain where the salesperson picked one dress at a time and I had to stand there in the too-small sample size gown with everyone there staring at me while she hunted down another dress- terrible!
I found my dress the very first time we went to Country Bridals, and it was one that our sales associate picked out that we thought looked ugly on the hanger, but once it was on, we knew it was the one! I was able to schedule all of my appointments on their website and they confirmed over email. I live about 4 hours from the store, but they were always able to accommodate me when I was going to be in town, and made sure the dress was ready when required. I only needed one fitting and the alterations they did at that point were perfect. They even sent me a handwritten thank you note after my first appointment there and an email the week of the wedding with some wedding tips!
All in all, I was very pleased with the personalized service, the friendliness of the staff, the ease of making an appointment, and the accuracy of the alterations. And of course, my dress was absolutely beautiful!Country Bridals and Formal Wear's reply:

Andrea was great helping me pick out my dress, even with my brother and siser running around the shop picking random dresses to try on. I did find my dress on the first try which meant I got some money off my veil which was great. The alterations were great, I had to come back in 2 weeks before because my bustle was difficult to alter, but they did it and it came out amazing. I can't thank them enough for helping me feel beautiful in my dress on my wedding day! -

I went to many bridal shops, but this one was my favorite by far. I found a lovely dress, for a great price, and I also bought my jewelry and headpiece there. They also have veils, shoes, and other sundries. I was very impressed and would recommend their services in a heartbeat. They are off the beaten path, but well worth the beautiful drive. -

My dress was in quickly, tailored beautifully, and they even dyed my shoes perfectly to match. The groomsmen looked dashing as well. My favorite part of this little shop though is just how nice everyone is. I've watched some friends have terrible experiences at department stores and other boutiques, so when I experienced how helpful and nice they were here, I knew immediately that I wanted to patron them. Great experience all around. They even picked up the tuxedos from our nearby reception spot. Job well done! -

While it doesn't look like I will end up buying my dress at Country Bridals (I found a pre-owned dress online that I love and seems to fit with no alterations needed), I had a great experience at my bridal appointment at Country Bridals with Elicia. I felt like I got the right amount of attention as a customer - enough so I felt supported but not so much that I felt smothered. Elicia listened to what I wanted and helped me find dresses that excited me. She and the other staff were attentive, the store was clean and well organized, there was a wide variety of gowns in different styles and prices to choose from, and the fitting rooms were comfortable, inviting, spacious, and well appointed. I felt very safe and comfortable the entire time I was there, and never felt pressured to buy anything that I wasn't ready to buy or forced to look at dresses outside of my budget. They even had samples and clearance dresses on sale (although that selection was understandably more limited), so it is possible a bride-to-be might be able to find an inexpensive, last minute dress here if needed. Overall I had a really fantastic experience and had so much fun shopping for my dress.
I cannot comment on what the process of actually buying a dress here and having it fitted would be like (my friend who came with me to the appointment bought her dress here and could not say better things about the store or their service), but my initial shopping experience was really wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to other brides in the Monadnock region.Country Bridals and Formal Wear's reply:

Elisha was a very patient, kind, helpful consultant. I felt comfortable with her at all times in the fitting room and had her undivided attention. My custom gown was unfortunately produced about 2" too short by the vendor (Allure Bridals). Country Bridal was professional and responsive about resolving the issue and ensuring I got the right gown, with the correct dimensions, as they had carefully measured and ordered. They were flexible in allowing me to come in on a Saturday for a fitting (they typically reserve Saturday for new brides). My only complaint was honestly that my custom ordered vale was not steamed or hung up, but left folded and vacuumed sealed in the package. I would have loved to have just gotten dress on my big day and not been anxious about locating a steamer :-) All around, 4 out of 5 stars even despite the setbacks. Great family owned business! -

After hearing good things about Country Bridal, that was the first place I went to try on dresses. I found a dress I loved and purchased it. The help was okay, but nothing out of this world either. I’m usually a size 2 - 4 jeans and they ordered me a size 10 dress. It was huge, but they said they’d rather have it too big and do the alterations necessary. They had told me they’d call me to have me try on my dress after alterations 2 weeks before the wedding. A week and a half before I called them because they hadn’t reached out to me and they told me they were working on it right then. 8 days before the wedding I was able to try on the dress and the alterations weren’t even close to fitting. The top of the dress was literally falling off because the straps were way too long. The dress felt as if it was just hanging off of me and was very heavy because it didn’t fit at all. I went back and tried it on 5 days before the wedding and the top was better, but the sides were huge. The lady said it was a very difficult dress to alter. I’m assuming if they had just purchased the correct size for me originally it would have been much better. Needless to say, $400 later for alterations and I hated the dress. I had to have someone else alter the dress and they took in almost 4 INCHES on the waist, hips, and thighs!!! Finally I felt like I’d look good on my wedding day after much stress.
