I showed her what I wanted and she delivered and went beyond every step of the way! She made my wedding day extra special with everything she did! Tish Sent on 09/16/2017Our hair was beautiful. The team was on time, quick, friendly and attentive. The price was reasonable and appropriate. We sent photos prior and the results amazing. Lots of comments on how nice our hair looked from the cuteness of the flower girl to stunning for my hair. -

I had very high and low experiences with Cormier, so I wrote a list of pros and cons for future brides considering working with Cormier Salon in Fernandina.
Pros:
1. Heidi and Sam made me look like a beautiful bride and I looked better than I thought I would. Especially how Sam did the make-up, she is truly a make-up genius.
2. All my bridesmaids looked good as well.
3. I thought both Heidi and Sam were very professional. I appreciated how calm Sam was during my wedding day as I was really on edge and worried about time.
Cons:
1. First issue was the trial for hair/make-up - Sam didn't show up for my first trial which I completely understand things happen, and I was discounted $20 my next trial which I thought was fair. However, Heidi did my entire trial (once I rescheduled) and rushed it. I realized later that for weddings, Heidi does the hair and Sam does the make-up. So I basically wasted money having Heidi do my make-up for my trial. Then at the end of my trial, Heidi wrote higher prices on their brochure for hair and make-up ($10 extra for each) and said these would be what we would be charged. However, when my MOH called back several times, Sam said that those prices were incorrect. I don't understand why I was even told at my trial they were higher prices. (We ultimately were charged what they advertise).
2. My second issue was the biggest I have with working with Cormier. On my wedding day after my hair was already done, I was told I owed $100 more for a TRAVEL FEE. At no point was a travel fee EVER mentioned from the time we were calling around asking questions with them to see if we would work with them, to my trial, to the follow up phone calls from myself and my MOH with both Heidi and Sam. I thought this was absolutely ridiculous as we were getting ready at the Hampton Downtown, about a 2 minute drive from Cormier. Not even my photographer and DJ coming from Jacksonville charged me a travel fee. I almost felt as if it was price gauging because it was the day of my wedding and I was already emotional.
3. Communication - I emailed their g-mail account twice and no one responded.
4. Timing - I told Heidi and Sam we needed to be done no later than 1:30pm and this didn't happen. Heidi actually said we could start at 11am to "play it safe" at which point I suggested 10am. I have no idea what we would have done if we hadn't started then and I wish we would have done 9am. I had 6 bridesmaids who did not all do hair/makeup, and we finished probably around 2:15pm.
Final takeaways and advice to future brides:
1. I don't know if Cormier does contracts but I wish I would have had one. With all the pricing confusion and surprises, that was my biggest mistake by not going with a vendor that I had a solid contract with.
2. Realize that Heidi does the hair and Sam does the make-up for the day of the wedding.
