Highly recommend Cope Entertainment. we used them for our Wedding @ Mulvaney's B&L. they did a great job with the music for both the ceremony & reception. They provided a photo booth that the guests loved and also provided lighting for our reception. We were extremely satisfied with their services.

perfect ✨ timing

Everyone I've talked to had a great time! I'm sure he's heard this hundreds of times, but his transitions are seamless and helped make our dream occasion much like a fairytale. My family loved how he knew when to end a song that went too long ha. And I love how his online event planner asked us what songs we wanted to play during certain parts of the occasion! Hearing them play at the perfect ✨ time made it surreal and whimsical. And the dance lighting was fantastic!! Absolutely stunning and fantastic. We requested his the upgraded lighting package and DJ/MC package. His example video of the lighting was awesome and the final result went above and beyond.

Wonderful DJ and lighting service for my wedding!

Matthew of Cope Entertainment was a joy to work with for my wedding. We had a quick decision to have a wedding and started talking to Matthew only 4 weeks before our date. He was upfront and honest about the services he could provide and did not push us to order services that would not be of value to us. His communication was excellent and he guided us on how to help him make our wedding day perfect!

He has a great website that you can easily navigate for selecting music for your event. You can even invite guests to preorder songs that they would like to hear. Matthew always caters the music to the hosts first though. Our wedding location was an unfinished room in a brewery and the 32 uplights Matthew brought transformed the room into a beautiful space.

Matthew was very professional throughout the wedding and reception and we appreciated how he helped facilitate the events of the day without making himself the center of attention. We highly recommend Cope Entertainment and Matthew for your event.

Great DJ/MC Experience

Matthew was the DJ for our wedding in October 2024 and was absolutely fantastic! He was awesome and responsive as we planned our event and helped us throughout the entire process. Matthew was our MC & DJ for our wedding at Scribner Bend in Sacramento. During the planning process his attention to detail, planning and communication was wonderful! Simply the Best!

Matthew was simply a phenomenal DJ, emcee, and entertainer for our wedding at the Chalet Event Center in Rocklin, California. From start to finish Matthew was instrumental in seeing through our vision for different audio visual styles for cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. His experience and understanding of trending music took the pressure off planning. He offers live one on one meetings and an interactive music portal. December wedding

I first known Matthew is at my sister wedding. At that time I already love his style and professionalism, and that was why we booked him. We were impressed with his responsiveness and help us to be on schedule. He will send us an email to remind us the timeline and what we would need to do. He clearly had read the details of our request and was careful to address all of our needs re: equipment, timing, and our preferred style. We had so many people come up to us and tell us what an amazing DJ we chose!

Amazing MC and DJ!!

After having issues with our initial DJ we were referred to Matt and I’m so glad we went with him as our wedding DJ. He came in and saved the day literally two days before wedding. From the outside ceremony to the inside reception, he made the transition so smooth. He was very friendly and helpful especially to me, the bride, he really helped with timelines and keeping people on the dance floor. He maintained communication with my husband and I throughout our wedding to make sure everything was going perfect. He was a perfect MC and DJ for our wedding night. He will be our go to for any future events, and we will definitely highly recommend him to all our friends and family!

Top-tier and Professional DJ and MC

Matthew Cope went above and beyond at our wedding! We had our magical dream wedding at the Firehouse Restaurant in Sacramento. Matt was very professional and prompt in his communication with us and did a great job facilitating further communication with the staff at the Firehouse Restaurant. As an MC, he kept our wedding running smoothly and aided us in transitions from each point in our night flawlessly. Matthew had a very fun and upbeat energy that truly made our experience working with him fantastic. When it came to the music and then the dance floor later on, the music styling was perfect, matching the changes in general vibe and energy we were looking for. Five stars doesn’t do Mathew & Cope Entertainment justice! From our first meeting we knew we made the right choice in having Mathew DJ & MC our wedding.

Mathew had the perfect balance of listening to our preferences of music, and then building a set with what we chose with similar music that fit mine and my wife’s personalities and styles.

#1 favorite thing: Mathew does not only want to know a list of songs that you want to hear at your wedding. He spends the time and energy to ask WHY you like those songs/artists. He then uses that information to put together an amazing set.

As for the MC side of things, Mathew knew how to keep the wedding moving smoothly while still keeping the mood light and the party going.

I’ll say it again, you will not be disappointed, Mathew/Cope Entertainment did an AMAZING job.

Most amazing MC/DJ you could ask for

Matt went above and beyond the entire time we were preparing for the wedding. He spent hours curating multiple playlists for the ceremony and reception that I now get to go back and listen to. He DJed the open dance part of the reception perfectly and allowed for the more unique song choices we had. After the reception, several guests stated it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to and that was largely thanks to Matt's services. He kept the night going smoothly and kept us on time as an MC. I highly recommend him for any event.

Amazing DJ!

Matthew was the DJ for my sister's wedding, and she highly recommend him. My partner and I were thrilled that he was available to help with our wedding years later. Matthew took the time to meet with us three times digitally to discuss the plans and to get to know us. He asked questions and made recommendations that really made us feel supported and understood. He also emailed us back promptly whenever we reached out to him. He made the entire process as fun and easy as it could be.
By the time the big day rolled around, I really feel like Matthew understood us as a couple. He helped to make the event everything we hoped it would be. I cannot have asked for a better DJ.
Cope Entertainment also brought a photo booth and an attendant up to our venue. It was such a nice addition to the event. We love the scrapbook we got at the end of the night. A few days later, we received the digital versions of the pictures and the video messages. It was so special!

Amazing DJ, Highly Recommend!!

Matthew was the DJ for our wedding at Scribner Bend Vineyards at the end of April 2023. To make this simple - BOOK. HIM. NOW! We would give him more stars if we could.

Cope Entertainment was on the preferred list provided by our venue and after much research, it was clear to see why. He lives up to his amazing reviews and then some.

Matthew was so helpful throughout the planning process with phone and video chats and put any anxieties at ease. He answered all questions quickly and was extremely professional. He helped us figure out which music was important to us and encouraged us to play what WE wanted. I was hesitant to choose our walk out song, as it was a little out of the norm, but he reminded us that this was OUR wedding and encouraged us to do what makes us happy - and the grand entrance turned out even more fun than we could have imagined!

He kept everyone on the dance floor all night and all our guests had such great things to say the next day. He really took all our suggestions and turned it into the best playlist. Also, the portal is so easy to use and makes planning simple.

We used the monogram lighting, which turned out to be the perfect touch in the background, especially for photos. We also booked the photobooth - so much fun and looking at the album we got to take home was hilarious! A great keepsake.

Overall, we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend Matthew for your wedding/next big event! Thank you again!!

Best DJ ever!

Mixing genius!

Matthew was our wedding DJ at Le Reve in Elk Grove, and he was absolutely amazing! He was one of the easiest vendors we worked with, which was no small feat since we were planning our wedding from overseas.

My family is Cuban and my husband's Aussie, so we were a little worried about how we would blend both groups music tastes to keep everyone on the dance floor.

Matthew was so helpful and accommodating. He encouraged us to be a part of the music selection process, and with his great ear, mixed and blended different genres from R&B and reggaeton to country rock seamlessly.

When it came to creating a playlist that was both unique to us and that everyone loved, he knocked it out of the park. He kept the dance floor packed all night long, and everyone complimented the music the following day.

In addition to his musical talents, Matthew is also a great communicator and a pleasure to work with. He was always available to answer our questions, and flexible in accommodating our requests.

Great DJ & MC

We are so glad we hired Matthew from Cope Entertainment to be our DJ and MC at our wedding! My fiancé and I had no idea what we were doing in terms of planning a wedding but Matthew made the process that much easier by answering all of our questions plus he has an online portal that helped guide us through what we needed for each segment of our wedding. He dressed professionally in a suite and most importantly kept our whole evening running along smoothly from the reception to our exit. We were able to create a list of songs we liked and Matthew put together a great playlist but also changed up the music during dancing to fit the mood and what others wanted. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend him to everyone for weddings or any other event you may have.

Perfect Wedding.

Matt was as good as can be. He has a portal to login to, so you can add music requests whenever something comes to mind. He setup initial meeting and then a follow up to ensure everything was settled and all of our decisions were made. Come wedding day we had absolutely nothing to worry about, everything was so perfect. Entrances and dancing and Mics for speeches along with introductions. We didn't have to think about anything and It was such an amazing time. The photo booth add on also gave our guests some fun pics. Can't recommend enough for your events.

The Absolute Best!

We can’t say enough about how much we loved having Cope Entertainment/Matthew as our DJ for our wedding at Wine and Roses in Lodi,CA! He made the whole process such a breeze. We had zoom meetings multiple times before our wedding. We spoke about what we needed and what we expected during that day. The portal we were given made adding songs and comments about different parts of the wedding easy. He was incredibly kind and professional. He was probably better about communicating than we were, which is definitely not the case when it comes to other vendors! He worked with us when we wanted specific songs during the ceremony and added personal touches to both the cocktail hour and dinner music. When we say we danced the entire reception, we truly mean it. He navigated the mood of the crowd perfectly. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without Matthew and we would recommend him for absolutely anybody!

Matthew did an amazing job!

We got married this past July at Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove and Matthew was our DJ. We really enjoyed the process for music selection - Matthew has this online selection tool where clients can add songs to different categories such as "must play", "do not play", etc. I particularly wanted to play this Chinese song during our cake cutting so to represent a bit of where my family comes from and he found the song for me. He was very supportive of us having the wedding we wanted and we love that about him!

Matthew is also great with communication. Perhaps this isn't a quality couples necessarily look for when looking for a DJ, but leading up to the wedding with a lot of loose ends to tie up there is a difference between vendors who take a few business days to respond to emails (still totally understandable) and someone who always gets back to you the day of. You know that feeling where you start to question whether or not to send a follow-up email? With Matthew, we've never once felt like we had to track him down and it gave us peace of mind knowing that he was just a text/phone call away. Find someone who is professional and consistent!

We couldn't be happier on our wedding day. Matthew played every single song we asked for. I wasn't aware but my husband later told me that at one point the flower at our table got too close to the candles and was beginning to catch on fire. Matthew noticed it and put it out. So, in a way, he saved our wedding! We can't recommend him enough.

We are so glad we chose Cope Entertainment to be our wedding DJ/MC. From the beginning, Matthew was kind, responsive, and professional. During our meetings, he explained everything we needed to know and answered all of our questions. The music selection page was very straightforward to use, and the event planning page essentially served as a ceremony/reception timeline. We also utilized his uplighting services, which added an extra pop to our venue (Pavilion at Haggin Oaks). It goes without saying that he did a wonderful job as DJ/MC on wedding day.

An awesome wedding MC & DJ

Matthew was our DJ for our wedding this passed weekend at Elegance Banquets in Lodi, CA. Helpful, responsive, entertaining!

Matthew really helped us figure out what we wanted to do regarding not just music for the reception but order of service and what we needed for our ceremony. He answered all our questions and was professional and helpful and clearly knew how best to help us. Day of, he was a great MC, and he was really responsive to all our guests and their requests. He even included my nephew in his work and showed him a bit of how to DJ which he loved! He was fun and engaging and all our guests had a great time. I would definitely recommend hiring him for your event or wedding!

Great Experience with Cope Entertainment

Matthew and Cope Entertainment were excellent to work with, the communication throughout was fantastic and he helped us truly personalize our experience while also taking a lot of the stress out of the process. We received many compliments on how the entertainment and music was run throughout the night, and I felt like I had a great deal of input on the choices but was confident in Matthew running the show so I could enjoy my wedding. We would highly recommend to other couples.

Incredible DJ!

I have worked many weddings alongside Matt as a Vendor but this last April I had the joy of being a Bridesmaid for a wedding he was the DJ/Emcee for, not just any wedding but my Sister's wedding.

It all started in 2020 when she had her full list of vendors and venue booked - then hit the pandemic.

Fast forward a few months and 2 new wedding dates later and she had to rebook all of her vendors, unfortunately where she was getting married there weren't many to choose from so I had her reach out to some of the vendors I have worked alongside in Sacramento and see if they would be willing to travel/had the date available.

Lucky us Matt Cope with Cope Entertainment had the date free and was willing/excited to travel with us for her wedding!

Matt did a phenomenal job keeping the party going, our families could not say enough amazing praises for Matt and his professionalism. Being in the industry I truly have to say that Matt far exceeded my expectations and the many weddings we have worked together after my sister's wedding have proven to be the same praise: incredibly professional, smooth in his transitions and sure to keep the party going.

I cannot thank him enough for stepping in to help my sister in a pinch and drive a few hours out of his way, on his own dime, to ensure their wedding was perfect.

I am looking forward to a year ahead of working alongside Matt on many more phenomenal weddings.

A great DJ and a great person

We had the best time with Matt as our DJ and MC. Our dance floor was full the entire night, and our ceremony songs were perfectly queued. But more importantly, the extra miles he went when our original wedding date of May 2020 was changed multiple times is priceless. He was so supportive and willing to help as we navigated new dates and different venues and never asked for anything extra. He has a true passion for his work which shows with his enthusiasm to make our day/night exactly what we wanted. We were so thankful to have Matt on our team as we navigated the covid wedding route. Highly recommend not just for the professionalism but for the personalization of him treating you as a person and not just a customer.

Dj Matthew Cope is the best

Dj Matthew Cope was the DJ for our wedding at the Firehouse in Sacramento and was beyond incredible. Definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ who will accomodate their "style" for their wedding and is a great price compared to other DJs in the area. We had the dance floor filled throughout the wedding and Matt helped keep the wedding flow very smoothly with ease.

Excellent wedding DJ!

I highly recommend DJ Matthew Cope! I was very particular about the music I wanted played at the wedding..and he nailed it! He was easy to work with and clearly very experienced. He allowed us to choose the songs we wanted but also knew what else to play based on the list. He was also an excellent master of ceremonies which I learned is soooo important. He made the night flow very well!

Matthew is a great DJ and an even better person. He is professional, knowledgeable, and caring.

We had booked two DJ's prior to finding Matthew, only to have them flake. Matthew saved us and even price matched the previous DJ, even though he was under no obligation to do so. Our only regret is that we did not find him first!

Where do I even begin with Matthew?? My now husband and I live in Philadelphia but were getting married in Sacramento. He communicated with us responsively and timely regarding our reception being held at Capitol Plaza Ballrooms in Sacramento; Matthew also has this awesome online portal that allows you to choose the songs and put in helpful information about your reception. He was so so professional and kind during this whole process and really helped make our day special! He called us several times to talk about the wedding and really made the reception about us and our tastes. During the process, I decided to go with uplighting at the reception, and he scheduled a meeting with my sister living in Sacramento to go to the venue and decide which uprights look best. During the reception, he even played the Philadelphia Eagles song at the request of my husband which really made our guests' night!! Those are just some of the things Matthew did to make this process easy and our special day so memorable. He is an incredibly talented DJ and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him and his services!!!

Matthew was a great DJ, from the beginning planning process through the set up and day of. He kept everything moving and flowing throughout the night. Everyone danced and there wasn't anyone left without sore feet the next day. First off I must say, Matthew is a very professional and talented DJ. As my wife can attest, I am not often this impressed, which has ultimately moved me to take some time to review Matthew’s work with and for us. I had no idea what to expect in a wedding DJ, other than he should play some good love songs and hopefully nothing that I hate, right? I’ve been to a few weddings, even DJ’d one myself, and all of that pales in comparison to what Mathew brings to the table. We hired him based on suggestion from our wedding planner Randy at the Firehouse. From our first face to face meeting I knew he had his act together. I tried diligently to stump him, but his musical knowledge is unparalleled! I can even say I feel a little more musically enlightened. He made it very easy for us to suggest music, even to the point that I needed only to tell him names of bands that I listened to and he would be able to fine something that would work for a wedding. What? Really? So I tested that too, and he pulled it off. He did give me the song list that he was going to play before our wedding day, but I decided to hold off and enjoy it in the moment. Every song that I heard I was impressed! Yes, I did get a Faith No More song played at my wedding! Well played, Matthew, well played indeed! Not to mention all the other wonderful heart felt tunes and obscure covers that fit the mood. Just amazing. And that’s just our songs. He did a great job of mixing in songs from our guests and played stuff that makes everyone get on the dance floor and have a great time. He did a fantastic job of keeping everything moving along with no audible gaps, announcing when things were happening, where things were happening, an all around bang up job of MC’ing so that my wife and I could celebrate our wedding day with our friends and family and not have to worry about a thing. I would hands down recommend Matthew Cope and Cope Entertainment for DJ and wedding needs! One of the first things he said to me about being a DJ at a wedding was that it isn’t his job to be the center of attention, it’s his job to “make sure nobody wants to leave.” And this is just the kind of DJ we wanted at our wedding. My husband and I had an amazing experience working with him. He met with us in person and helped feel out the kind of wedding we wanted. He was incredibly responsive by email, text, and via the website he uses to pull together the format for events. And the website he uses is an excellent tool for helping to form your ideas for what songs are needed and when. With our wedding being off season and at a preferred venue (the Firehouse Restaurant) he also worked with us on pricing and payment, which was very helpful and considerate. And on the day of the wedding he was the perfect DJ for our day. He was on time, professional, good humored, and he kept the day rolling and fun. He mixed music that was perfect for us, got the guests dancing, and made sure to mention the things we wanted him to. He kept things moving on time which is something I can’t recommend enough to have someone else doing at a wedding. You’ll be too distracted to do it and want someone you can trust. Matthew is definitely a guy you can trust! He helped make our day memorable and fun, and I’ll forever be glad for those memories!

I cannot recommend Matthew Cope and Cope Entertainment enough. He MCed and DJed for my wedding on June 24 and he did such an amazing job!

Before the wedding, he was incredibly responsive and happy to meet and discuss as much as we needed. The online planner made it so easy and fun for us to plan our playlist and give all the details that made our day extra special. I am a very detailed-oriented person and music is incredibly important to me, so I had a lot of special requests and particulars that I wanted for my wedding, and he made sure everything was absolutely perfect!

On the day of, Matt took great care of us. He was right by our sides, making sure we were happy and having a great time. His MCing was absolutely on point and he got our crowd super pumped and excited. We completed trusted him with the timeline and he kept the whole night running so smoothly. I cannot say enough how awesome his DJing was! EVERYONE was on the dance floor (all the way from my little old grandma to my 14 and 16 year old cousins) having an absolute blast! Every song, and I mean every single one, was perfect and segued flawlessly. His equipment sounded amazing and it was never too loud or distorted or too quiet. My guests made requests and I heard all my favorite music all night long. We got so many compliments that it was the best dancing and most fun our guests had ever had at a wedding. I absolutely don't doubt it -- it was seriously the best dancing and best party I have ever been to!

If you can, book him today! I cannot recommend Cope Entertainment enough. Absolutely perfect and amazing job!

Matt was our DJ for March wedding in Sacramento and did an amazing job. We live in San Jose but the wedding planning process was easy with him. Most of the planning was done online. We skyped several times to talk about details and points and to make sure we were on track. We had some unusual musical requests and Matt really got into it for us. We had a lot of video game/movie music selected and he took liberties incorporating other selections that people raved about afterward.

We were very happy he was able to incorporate our nerdiness without it being too in your face. The gamers/movie lovers got the references but people who weren't into it just heard nice music - which is what we wanted. We had other genre music as well and it was a big hit with the crowd.

Overall, he DJ'ed the event amazingly. People liked him and he kept the event on track.

Afterward, there was one word that people used to describe our wedding: Fun. Which is exactly what we wanted.

We hired Matt at Coper Entertainment for our wedding at the firehouse in 11/2016. He was by far our favorite vendor of the day. He was listed as a preferred vendor and we can see why! From the beginning, he was very personable, down to earth, and easy going. We communicated through emails then on Skype. He was very prompt with correspondence and always made sure the music matched our taste. A day before our wedding, we met with him once more to go over the wedding program. We felt at ease and relaxed knowing that our music will be in good hands. An added bonus is that Matt showed up dressed up in a dapper outfit with button up shirt and tie. This may seem small, but it meant a lot to us that he was dressed up and was truly excited to be there to celebrate with us. My husband and I love all types of music and he really captured what we love in the playlist on our wedding day. Everyone has been raving about the music from our wedding, not just during open dancing, but during cocktail hour and dinner as wel.. We had such a great time. I had so much fun, in fact, I never left the dance floor :) At then conclusion of the night, he even stuck around to answer random questions that I had for him. Thank you, Matt for capturing our personalities and making our wedding one for the ages! We thank our lucky stars that Randy referred us to you because without you, our wedding wouldn't have been as special. We will recommend you in a heartbeat!

The party doesn't stop with DJ Matthew Cope!

Let's admit that choosing a DJ can be difficult. Whereas anything else with a wedding, you can look at pictures of flowers, cakes, venues etc. but with a DJ, it could be paying a $1,500 ticket to a concert for a band you've never heard of. So let's take the guessing out of it entirely and enter DJ Matthew Cope.

For the super organized bride like myself, his song selection data base system was a dream. It is a web-based system where you can fill out every song on the MUST PLAY as well as the DO NOT play lists and all the details for the day.

But don't worry if you're aren't particular as I am because Matthew knows how to read a crowd better than anyone else. Not only does he keep the party going all night with the best music, but he has a "radio voice" that naturally commands a room. He knows how to direct a wedding party and guests to make sure everyone is on time, having fun, and even makes sure the bride doesn't trip in that random crack on the ground.

If you want to have the best wedding with an experienced, detailed, professional, DJ Matthew Cope is your best bet.

Matt was enthusiastic, professional, reliable, and communicative from the time of our very first chat, to the very end of our Reception!

Planning with him was a breeze since he has his own Client Portal that you can log into to choose your “must-have” songs and plan the loose flow of how you want your ceremony/reception to go. You are able to access this for months before “the big day” and it was super easy to use and modify whenever.

When we met with him a few weeks before our event, he was extremely easy-going and was very focused on delivering the type of reception that WE wanted to have. He is truly interested in giving you an in individualized experience and creating a vibe that is customized to both your crowd and style.

My husband and I were planning a reception only since we would be getting married in a semi-private ceremony in Tahoe a few days before. Since the wedding ceremony formalities would basically be over, we really just wanted a fun, upbeat, celebratory atmosphere with a lot of dancing and a combination of music that would please both our friends in their late 20’s/early 30’s, as well as our family and their friends too. He absolutely delivered on this front, and had the dance floor packed with people of all ages throughout the entire 3 hours that it was open! We got so many compliments from our guests in the days following saying what a blast they had at our reception, and I know that this is largely because of Matt and his ability to read our crowd!

Not only that, but he managed the flow of our evening perfectly. He followed our planned timeline but was also totally flexible with the timing of our first dance, speeches, etc. and made little tweaks and announcements as necessary without us needing to get involved what-so-ever.

There is absolutely nothing that I would change about Matt’s contribution to our reception. It was truly a perfect night, and one that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives!

We completely forgot to get a back drop for oir head table, matthew made it look beautiful with uplighting behind the head table. About 2 hours before the wedding i dedided to change a song for the slideshow. He did that with no problem at all. Then right before the ceremony he got my wedding party in order quick to walk out. They looked amazing because of his great direction.

Matthew was our DJ at our wedding 06/26/16. He listened to our wants and delivered. He was very flexible when things didn't go as timely as planned and he was very helpful. I just wish the party could have kept on going! Our guest had a wonderful time. Matthew did a great job keeping the party going!

So you're looking for a DJ for your special event? A wedding perhaps? Well my wife and I were too, and we're SO lucky that we found Matthew! I found Matthew through Yelp actually, and after talking with him via email and phone, we felt confident that he'd be a good choice. What I didn't know at the time, is that I was wrong...he was literally the PERFECT choice! Matthew makes the process extremely easy for you. He's got an online planner that you plug all your details into, plug songs into, plug requests from guests into, fill out that handy "do not play" list for all those boring or rowdy songs, etc. He set up a few phone calls with us to make sure we were all set up and on track, he met us at the venue in person to discuss details and layout during the wedding, and we never felt pressured or overwhelmed by any part of the process.

So let's get to the day of the wedding. The setup looked great, Matthew was on time, had his gear ready to go, and playlist ready to reign fire down on the dance floor. As far as the MC'ing portion of his job that night, he was great. Everything went smooth as butter. I had literally 10+ guests come up to me and compliment me on "my" awesome playlist of songs. Although I wouldn't mind the compliment at all, it wasn't mine to keep. We honestly didn't give Matthew a ton of help. We more or less just gave him some examples of artists we like and he worked his magic. Dancing was great too! He got everyone out on the dance floor no problem and kept the night going until the venue kicked us all out. Check out my review on yelp for more details (limited by number of characters here haha). I can't say enough good things about Matthew Cope and Cope Entertainment. My guests raved about him and the music immediately after the wedding and in the days following. His website is easy to use and lets you create an exact timeline of the wedding from start to finish. When I was unsure about some details he made himself available to talk it through and help me resolve any uncertainties with my music choices. He is absolutely more than just a DJ. He kept the timeline flowing smoothly. He kept in constant communication with us knowing what time the photographer was finished. He also helped control the speeches and made sure the mic didn't get passed around (one of my fears lol). He is entertaining, attentive to details, and just all around fun. I would absolutely recommend his services in a heartbeat! And probably a good sign, our friends booked him for their wedding after seeing the incredible job he did at our wedding. Can't wait to experience Cope Entertainment again in a few months!

Feel comfortable stopping your DJ search right now. Matthew is the real deal. He made the planning process incredibly easy and made his expertise apparent until the big day. Planning from a distance, he was able to meet with us several times over Skype and on the phone. The big day went off without a single issue. Matthew is a natural behind the microphone and took control of the entire event. He is very reasonably priced for the quality of DJ/MC that you receive. He has a professional set up and excellent equipment. We provided him with our own projector and laptop for a slideshow that he operated and tore down with no hesitation. We also provided him with a difficult dancing crowd but he did a wonderful job switching things up and getting people onto the dance floor. From sitting everyone down before the ceremony all the way to closing out the reception, Matthew was the perfect DJ/MC for our wedding. We couldn't be happier and I highly recommend Cope Entertainment for your wedding and reception.

Matthew was a great DJ for our wedding. We got so many compliments about him. He was professional, and very helpful during the planning stages. He has a good personality, and is easy to get along with. He ran our wedding very smoothly. We could tell he had a lot of experience as a wedding DJ. He did a great job with the music selection, and was always available with any questions or concerns that we had. We would definitely recommend him to any of our friends and family!

Matthew Cope was our DJ, Master of Ceremonies and he provided ceremony music. He was fantastic. He has a great personality that shined through in his MC capacity. He provided ceremony music and music during hors d'oeuvres and dinner and then for dancing. Matt has this great software that allows you to find and pick music for the entire evening. He also picked several songs on his own and we had a perfect match for the evening of the kind of music our crowd liked. My mother commented that he had a great personality and helped move the evening along and make the event. The music was so fitting for our crowd that tables were singing along during dinner. We danced almost every single song that night because it was all so perfect for our crowd. My brother commented a month later about how good every song was that evening. Matt made our wedding night so very special and created the perfect soundtrack of our evening. Everyone had a wonderful time at our reception. Go with Matt! He is the best.

Matthew brought so much energy to our wedding day celebrations. You shouldn't underestimate the importance of a good DJ/MC, and Matthew is GREAT! Matthew is so much more than a DJ - he's an emcee, an entertainer and the life of the party. We had such a great time with him at our wedding in September, and would choose him a thousand times over if we could!

We picked Cope Entertainment off of Wedding Wire about a year in advance of our big day. My husband is very picky when it comes to music and lighting, but was comfortable when reading through past reviews. We had an introductory call with Matthew and knew right away he was just the DJ we needed.

His online tool made planning so simple leading up to the wedding. We were a little difficult when it came to music, with my roots in country, his in oldies and the need for some pop crowd pleasers - but Matthew got it just right. People of all ages were dancing and having a great time. We had folks coming up to us throughout the night to ask who he was and if they could get his card. Everything was timed perfectly, there were no mic issues and he did a beautiful job lighting the space. Matthew also surprised is with lighting a 100+ year-old oak tree, which we had talked about, but decided against. It was such a great add to the atmosphere (see photo!) He also set up and broke down without us ever knowing it was happening.

I would recommend him to anyone!

Matt Cope is amazing! We could not be happier with the selection. Matt provides an online portal where you can enter in all of the ceremony details, timeline, song selections and much more. It really helped us stay on track and plan ahead. We didn't have to stress over anything because I knew we were in good hands with Matt. Matt provided both DJ and MC services for us. He had our wedding guests on the dance floor all night. He played all of our songs and knew exactly what our guests wanted to dance to. He has a great personality and was very easy to work with. Matthew was amazing!! He goes above and beyond to make your day perfect. We contacted Matthew only a few months before our non traditional wedding reception and he took all the stress away. He is so relaxed and even when we didn't give him much to work with he made the night amazing. He feed off our friends and families and kept everyone on the dance floor (which is exactly what we wanted). He even added on an extra hour at the end because no one wanted to leave. In addition, I had a minor dress malfunction and Matthew saved the day with a sewing kit! We will definitely contact Matthew again for future events :)

DJ Matt is the only person you need for your next big event, wedding or otherwise. Matt emceed our wedding this past Spring at the Firehouse Restaurant in Old town Sacramento and was a true pro. He is well seasoned and experienced, knows how to handle large crowds, is very entertaining, and does a great job getting all guests involved in the ceremony activities and reception. Matthew did an amazing job across the board for our wedding at the Elks Tower in Sacramento. Not only does he have all the qualities of a good DJ (professional and punctual with vast musical knowledge), but he also possesses those more intangible qualities that make for a first-rate DJ (charisma, a great voice, the ability to read the vibe of a room and dance floor and adjust the music accordingly, and the skill to interact with a crowd in subtle yet important ways without ever coming across as cheesy or inauthentic). In short, he established the perfect “presence” at our wedding, maintained the flow of the evening with ease, and played the perfect mix of music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing (guests continuously complimented us on our choice of DJ, and are still doing so a month after). It was clear that Matthew cared about our vision for our wedding and worked with us beforehand to create an evening that satisfied both our musical tastes as well as those of our guests. For those that want someone cool under pressure with the ability to keep everyone dancing late into the night, my wife and I recommend Matthew wholeheartedly.

Matthew Cope is amazing. He was the DJ at four (4!) other weddings that we've been to and we had a great time at all of them. When it came to planning our own wedding, we were so happy that he was available. He is very knowledgeable about music and events, and his client portal made finding the perfect songs a piece of cake. The dance floor was packed the whole night, and he incorporated our favorite songs/artists seamlessly. We are still getting compliments about the music. Matthew is great to work with and wonderful at what he does. Since we were planning our wedding from out of town, he was very flexible in scheduling Skype sessions to help plan and coordinate. OMG. DJ Matt is an all in one package. He made our wedding extremely fun and memorable, my guests kept on complimenting us until weeks after our big day. He was such a great host, party starter and DJ. He was so easy to deal with and was very professional. He knew what to do and was good at it, so this kept me calm during the whole reception. I did not worry about a thing and went along with his script.

I do not have enough words to use to write a good review about him, I am just very satisfied with his service. As our night ended, our guests kept on shouting "one more song! one more song!", that was such a great sign that everyone had fun.

DJ Matt also took care of all the lighting for our wedding reception and did such an awesome job. He went above and beyond the call of duty. Finding the perfect DJ was especially important to me because music is one of my greatest passions. I would have searched for months in order to find the person I thought was the right fit for our wedding. Matthew Cope from Cope Entertainment was one of the first DJs we contacted to set up a meeting with. My wife and I did a fair amount of research on reputable companies that provided DJ/MC services and for some reason Cope Entertainment stuck out from the beginning. Matt was quick to reply to my first inquiry and every correspondence leading up to our big day for that matter. When my wife and I met with him for the first time, we immediately fell into conversation like we were all old friends. Matt is very personable, fun and knows his music! What was supposed to be a quick introductory meeting turned into a few hours of pleasant musical chatting without any of us realizing how much time had gone by. It was official... we found our perfect DJ! His user friendly online program was designed to let us lay out our playlist to include special requests, dedications, and even a "do not play" list. It allowed us to set the tone of the celebration to reflect the different stages of the evening. Without a doubt, Cope Entertainment definitely delivered the level of professionalism mixed with lighthearted humor and just a touch of goofiness to keep us entertained all evening long. He's very competent, professional, engaging, accommodating, and the entire process from planning to the day-of our wedding was just absolutely flawless! Everything was on point!

Most of the guests in our wedding were family members that were well over in their 50's/60's... and they were hitting the dance floor like they were in their 20's! Seriously. We didn't think that it would be possible.. but nope. Matt Cope definitely delivered the impossible that night and we had SO much fun!

We hired DJ Matthew Cope for our daughter's wedding reception. The wedding was held at our home, and we need just the right DJ , and that was Matthew Cope. He is professional, responsible, friendly, reads his audience correctly, and is just about perfect in his job. He brings all the most up-to-date equipment, and even has a generator if you need that!
Matthew is also an all around great MC as he introduces the wedding party, and moves the toasts along. He has the perfect personality for this job, and all of our guests really liked him. We hired him after meeting him at another wedding, so we already knew we had a winner.

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR A D.J.!!! Matthew Cope exceeded both myself and my wife's expectations of what a d.j can do for your wedding. Before meeting Matthew, my perception of a d.j was someone who you paid to come and play music that suited you and your guests. I was wrong...Matthew showed both of us that he, and his company believe that you should expect a grand production, and thats exactly what we got! Matthew met with us at least four times before our wedding, and always responded to our many emails with questions regarding the big day. Any concerns we had were always put to rest once we met with him. From the ceremony, to the introduction of the wedding party, family speeches, to getting everyone dancing, everything flowed smoothly because of our D.J.! We found Matthew Cope through all the great reviews on Yelp and decided to use him for our wedding. We had not seen him in action but when we met with him in person, we knew he would do a great job and he proved it. During the months leading up to our wedding, he was super helpful in planning out the night and was very responsive through the entire process. Our wedding was this past November and he brought all the necessary equipment for both the ceremony and the reception so all our guests could hear not only the music for the ceremony but also everyone speaking. And the reception was a blast, he did a great job mixing up the music with our music preferences as well as going with the flow of the night. Even during my sister's speech when she mentioned how we used to sing the Disney Aladdin "a whole new world" song as kids, and he found and played the song on the fly during dinner. It was perfect! Matthew really helped run the night smoothly and is not just a djay, he was the perfect host for the night. He was professional and yet has a great sense of humor at the same time. Many of our guests gave us great feedback on Matt's work and said how well he did at our wedding and during the reception. We are so happy we decided to go with Matthew and would recommend him for your event.

Matthew DJ'ed our wedding at an indoor/outdoor venue, and did a great job. He met with us beforehand, scouted the location, and coordinated well with the other vendors. We saw Matt perform at a friend's wedding, and just had to have him for our own wedding. He is great on the mic, making all of our many wedding announcements and MC'ing our reception with ease. Bonus: he's actually funny, too!

Matt was very professional during the planning stages. We had several Skype and phone conferences with him, and he made sure that he understood our schedule and desires exactly. He showed up early to our wedding, and was completely set up before either of us had said a word to him. And most importantly, he pulled off the music for both our ceremony and reception without a hitch! In addition, he handled our slideshow (even renting a screen for us) and first dances (including a choreographed wedding party number) perfectly, and worked with our coordinator to fix any issues that cropped up (through no fault of theirs) so quickly and fluidly that we didn't have to worry about a thing, and our guests were none the wiser.

It was an amazing night, full of great music and our friends dancing all around an open barn for a very long time. We couldn't be happier.

Matthew DJ'd our April 27th wedding and was fantastic! Leading up to the wedding he was very proactive in helping us plan our song selections and timeline of the wedding day. He had a lot of great ideas and listened to any suggestions we had. The ceremony and reception ran seamlessly and it was in large part to how Matthew effortlessly guided the evening along and ensured everyone was having a great time! The dance floor was always packed! We would refer Matthew to anyone looking for an organized professional DJ who will get the party going!

Matthew Cope is a DJ, an emcee, a kind, genuine person with a twinkly smile and he will make your event more special than you thought possible! He is equipped with the latest technology to help you plan your event and choose your songs. He's always available to offer suggestions and support, either via email, phone or in person. On our wedding day, his expert talent shone. He arrived on time (important to us!) and set up quickly. Our ceremony music was flawless, exactly as we'd imagined it in our minds. He quickly broke down and re-set at the reception space and had our guests on the dance floor in no time at all. He introduced my groom and I and our wedding party and led us into our first dance without missing a beat. Matthew's emcee skills are great too, not cheesy, just the right blend of fun and professionalism. We really appreciated everything he did to make our wedding the special day that it was.

Matthew was very professional, good at what he did and had our crowd dancing! He also provided the music and the microphones for the ceremony which was done with professionalism and good quality. Would definitely recommend him to friends!! Thanks Matthew:-)

Matthew was a great DJ/MC, very nice guy and very easy to work with. We found him through Sound In Motion. We met him in person and spoke to him by phone several times before the wedding to go over the details. He is a very professional Dj/MC, gave us good suggestions. We felt very fortunate to have him for our wedding on Sep 2. Highly recommended! 5 Stars!

We absolutely loved Matt!!! He was very flexible with our schedules and Skyped with us as we live in Texas, but needed a DJ in NorCal. He made things easy and when we were not really sure of music choices, he had great suggestions. On the day of our outdoor wedding, it ended up pouring down buckets of rain. Matt stayed out with all of us to make sure the ceremony had every piece of music and that we were heard. He then moved his equipment quickly and kept the party going. I loved it what he did because we had a very eclectic group of people, different ages, different countries... and he was able to play music that literally got everyone up on the dance floor at some point. He was a great emcee for the event and made sure that, even though the rain moved all the events around, we still got every important part of the event in! I highly recommend using him. He is phenomenally priced for all of the value that he gave us. Great guy! He really helped make our wedding fantastic!
