SUCH a great experience with Convention Floral - beautiful arrangements,

Nubia and her staff are incredible! Nubia was a joy to work with leading up to our wedding - we had reached out somewhat late on for archway flower arrangements with a specific vision in terms of color scheme/style. Nubia worked with us to make sure that the archway was exactly as we had requested and so that there were no surprises on the big day. Nubia was extremely responsive by both phone and email, she proactively reached out to go over details, and she even helped me to make a few alterations to stay within our budget without giving up any of what we wanted. The flower arrangements for our archway provided by Nubia were beautiful, her staff were so friendly and responsive as well and the archway was simple to set up with Nubia's detailed instructions - though they also would have set up for us had we wanted that! Please work with Convention Floral, a gem in DC!

My daughter got married at Saint Francis Hall (SFH) in Washington DC on July 17, 2016 and it was gorgeous! WIth the high ceilings at SFH my daughter really wanted tall candelabra or tower flower arrangements. I called around DC. (I live in Colorado but my daughter lives in DC) and Nubia at Convention Floral had BY FAR the best prices. She was even willing to spary paint the bases gold to match my daught'er color scheme. I explained exaclty what we wanted...white hydrangeas, with spray of pink roses and lot's of greenery. They turned out beautifully. We also had Nubia do flowers for a cross. We were on a budget so half the flowers were done by Nubia (boutonnieres - 13!!!, 8 candelabra arrangements, mom wrist corsages, and the cross). Friends did the rest DIY (Do it yourself). It was a lot of work but worth it. If you are on a budget Nubia will work with you. You can have her do as much or as little as you need. We returned the candelabra bases and two white pillars to her home after the wedding and this saved us a bit on delivery fees. Nubia was professional, helpful, and flexible. If you are looking for gorgeous flowers on a budget that do not look like they were done on a budget, look no further! Nubia was a wonderful florist and made our wedding day look amazing! She was responsive throughout the whole process and incorporated our vision for the wedding into her flower arrangements splendidly! She made her self available to us when we had questions or concerns and took the time to explain what she planned on doing and took the time to show us examples. We couldn't have asked for a better florist for our wedding and would highly recommend her!!

My sister recently got married in DC. We are from California and she asked me to find a florist in DC. I contacted Convention Floral via email and she was very quick to respond. She was professional and understanding to our situation. I sent her pictures of what my sister wanted and Convention Floral did not disappoint. The flowers were BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT! I would definitely recommend Convention Floral to anyone getting married in the DC area.

I am so happy the I went with my gut and selected this convention floral. I planned my wedding from long distance and Nubia attention to detail and vision created the most beautiful center pieces for my wedding. She guided me through the process every step of the way and reassured me that she would deliver my vision of my day. She personal delivered the flowers to the venue and it was a pleasure to meet the woman behind such amazing work. Two week later I am still enjoying her work. The search is over because Convention Floral is it!

I came to Convention Floral after the original florist I signed with cancelled on me. I was so lucky they did! Nubia was very easy to work with, very flexible, and had great ideas about how to best approach our venue. She took my ideas and made them way better. The flowers were beautiful - many of the guests complimented them. Thank you Nubia for such beautiful work!!

I cannot say enough about the excellent service and amazing flowers Nubia provided for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding! The arrangements and bouquets were nothing short of exquisite. The flowers were gorgeous for my wedding day. I had originally picked a more pink rose and what showed up on the wedding day was a more orange rose but it still matched perfectly and I couldn't have been happier. The flowers set the tone of the wedding and the centerpieces made the reception amazing! Everything was beautiful!

Nubia was very helpful and easy to work with for our wedding flowers. We came in with a strict budget, and she was happy to work with it. I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted my flowers to look like, so I brought in pictures of bouquets and centerpiece set-ups. I wanted to make my own mason jar vases (covered in burlap, lace, and twine), and she was happy to work with those. She has a great eye for putting together bouquets and centerpieces and captured my floral concept nicely. I was really pleased with how everything came together, and I would highly recommend her! I was deciding between buying flowers in bulk or having a florist and I am so glad I went with Nubia instead of ordering them myself.

We highly recommend Nubia Fasil at Convention Floral. She was very easy to work with and professional at all times. Moreover, she had innovative suggestions and paid close attention to details. Nubia promptly communicated with us via email and telephone. To save us the hassle of having to return items ourselves, she even picked up the equipment on the same night after our reception was over. It was a pleasure working with her! Nubia is a wonderful florist to work with. When planning my wedding I wanted fresh flowers but did not have any idea about the different types and I had a large bridal party requiring lots of bouquets but wanted to stay in a reasonable budget. Nubia helped find the perfect flowers for the colors I needed and at a wonderful cost. The flower arrangements were beautiful and better than what I could have dreamed. I would highly recommend her for all your wedding flowers.

Nubia was great and so professional!! She was willing to work within our budget and she did a wonderful job. I did not get a chance to see the flowers before my wedding, but when I did see them they exceeded my expections. My venue was just beautiful thanks to her. If I have any other events I will go back to her again and again. If you need flowers for your wedding this is the place to go, you will not be disappointed.

Nubia was wonderful to work with. Our wedding flowers were absolutely beautiful. I say this as I knew nothing about flowers, so I just trusted the bouquets she planned to put together. With our white and pink wedding colors she created gorgeous bouquets made of gerbera daisies, roses, and cala lilies! She also went all the way out to Gainesville (about 40 miles outside of her office) to set up our ceremony and reception! I totally recommend her for weddings and any other special event!

I contacted Nubia via email to do 2 bouquets, 3 corsages, and 5 boutonnieres for my wedding. I sent her some photos of what I liked and she made it happen. Nubia has wonderful taste. The delivery was early, it was exactly what I wanted and on my wedding day that was a huge relief.

I highly recommend Nubia, especially if you don't have much time to fret over your flowers. She will get the job done, you do not need to worry.

After going to an appointment with another florist, I was pleased to come across Nubia & Convention Floral. In order to stick to my budget at the previous florist I would have been given very small, 4"x4", vases with a basic bouquet of roses. Considering the 10 person tables at the reception venue, those centerpieces would have been swallowed up on the table.
Meeting with Nubia showed me that I could have show-stopping centerpieces with a median budget. We ended up with centerpieces that stood 3+ feet tall at some tables with various design elements such as LED lights, hanging votives, and several different flowers and accent pieces. Everything was beautiful and we were well pleased.
I highly recommend everyone, with any budget, seek out Nubia's creative ideas for your wedding ceremony & reception.

Nubia was excellent to work with. She sat down and talked to us about what we might want. She listened to our ideas and also gave us some other good ideas we hadn't thought about. Originally we were just going to have her do our personal flowers but then ended up having her do some ceremony flowers as well. She came to the restaurant where we were having our ceremony and reception the day of to set up. She was very flexible about coming to set up when we asked her to even though she had another wedding that same day. I think her price was very reasonable, she worked within our budget. The only thing I would have done differently was getting the vases back to her. We hadn't talked about getting the vases back to her since we didn't add on the ceremony flowers until later, so it's not something we had really thought about. The tall vases were very fragile and we ended up breaking a couple of them, which we felt really bad about. Nubia was very understanding. I just wished we had a better way of getting the vases back to her. Otherwise, we really enjoyed working with Nubia and the flowers were beautiful! Thank you for making our day special and our pictures beautiful!

Convention Floral designer, Nubia, is terrific to work with. She was very flexible in her schedule to meet with us to assist with floral selection and designs. The finished products for our daughter's wedding were superb! Nubia made sure that all the bouquets and reception arrangements were full with vibrant colors to match the color scheme of the wedding. She fulfilled our request professionally and in a timely manner. Our order included personal flowers, ceremony venue flowers and reception decor--18 tall and low centerpieces which added such beauty to the already elegant ballroom. We highly recommend Nubia for her attention to detail and her pleasant manner and professionalism.

Nubia at Convention Floral is fantastic! She’s enjoyable to work with, responsive, professional and really cares about her customers and their weddings. She used a single picture I had found on the internet, put together a sample for me in her shop, and from there created beautiful flower arrangements, centerpieces and a bouquet for my wedding. She asked all the right questions to make sure she was giving me exactly what I wanted and made sure it was all within my budget. On the day of the wedding she worked with our caterers to make sure everything was set up just right. The place looked beautiful. I would definitely recommend Convention Floral to all brides and/or grooms!

Nubia is the without a doubt the most talented florist in the DC area. According to other florists in the area, my & I were told that we were “too late” when we were looking for someone who could do our wedding bouquets, boutonnières and centerpieces. Okay, we started looking a few months before the Big Day, not the weekend prior. I was getting frantic as flowers are an integral party to a wedding and my budget was, well, on a budget. In hindsight, I am so grateful I was advised to go to check out local florists via wedding websites. When I came across Nubia’s information, I was nervous to call her as I had become so turned off by the process at that point. Nubia was QUICK to reply and we had our meeting and agreement in place less than a week later. Nubia LISTENS. (I know, shocking.) She actually listened to my thoughts, ideas, and budget. She was so patient even as I started rambling about what I thought made sense in my head, but I couldn’t quite verbalize what I wanted. It’s like she saw a projection of the look I was going for in perfect clarity through my broken descriptions. Unlike everything else that’s perfectly micromanaged, flowers are something most brides do not see until the minute everything starts happening. There’s no going back. I don’t freely admit this, but I am somewhat picky and like things a certain way. When I saw the bouquets and flowers, I gasped. It was all just stunning. Perfection. I had so many compliments throughout the night and overheard countless people admiring her work. I was leafing through a cheapy magazine in the airport en route to my honeymoon & when I came across a spread about celebrity weddings I thought to myself, ‘my flowers & centerpieces were so much better. Oh, and at a fraction of the price.’ Smug? Absolutely. You won’t find me apologizing anytime soon for being that happy with the outcome. Well done, Nubia!

Go to Nubia she is amazing all those unique ideas patience elegance. We did not know what to get but we only knew that we wanted different table different country team. So she came up with a unique idea to do flags in one table, egyptian statue inserted to the centerpiece in another table, and a small football arrangment on another table different designs for 10 tables. Our guests were amazed and so appreciated that their culture were shown as our guests were so diveresed. Totally Great Idea Convention Floral specialy Nubia has come up with. THANK TOU NUBIA

The people at Convention Floral are not only pleasant and personable but they are flexible and will accommodate your every wish. I worked with the owner until we had exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding florals. I highly recommend this florist and would definitely use them again. If you know what you want, they will deliver it.

The flowers for my wedding were fablous!! About 3 months till the wedding I was so stressed about matching colors so I just handed her my swatches and told her to have fun. I set my budget and left it all to her and was very pleased with the end result!

Nubia at Convention Floral did all of the centerpiece arrangements, boutonnieres, corsages, flowers for my hair, and bridal bouquet for my wedding. She did an incredible job and for a very reasonable price (half the price of a florist in Georgetown I spoke to). She was very responsive: any time I called or emailed, she always responded within 24-hours. I had to pick up the flowers for my hair a day early, and she had them ready to go with no delay. And she was on time to deliver and set up the flowers the day of the wedding. She was also really helpful with designing the flower arrangements; she is very knowledgeable about flowers and had lots of pictures to show me when I was trying to decide what types of flowers I wanted. I highly recommend Convention Florist for every bride!

Nubia was great from beginning to end and worked within my budget. After being dropped unceremoniosly by another florist who was unrated, Nubia turned out to be much much better. The flowers were absolutely beautiful. If you are marrying in DC/MD/VA, use her.

I highly recommend Convention Floral. Nubia is so pleasant to work with. I know little about flowers, but she was able to take the few ideas we gave her, and create stunning wedding bouquets and centerpieces. We had to change the number of our centerpieces when we revised our seating charts, but she was flexible and willing to work with those changes. And she made a beautiful flower crown for our 3-year old flower girl, which was such a wonderfully creative suggestionthe flower girl felt like a princess! We are starting to receive our wedding pictures, and the flowers photograph beautifully. And perhaps most importantly, the prices were reasonable--Nubia was willing to work within our budget, which we were grateful for.

Being on a tight budget is hard to do on a wedding, but the people at Conventional Florist did an excellent job accommodating for our tight budget. we discussed various ways to make it affordable and they were creative with ideas to fit with our cost. When we got the flowers the day of the wedding, everyone loved the creations that she made. they were very fancy without looking outdated and they made stunning centerpieces for our tables, an excellent bridal bouquet, and even used our favorite flowers in the process (hydrangeas). The deliver too!

Nubia is her name. Go to her, with your vision and she will make it happen. I found floral designs on the high end website of celeb eventeer Andre Wells and other luxury floral wedding magazines, took them to Nubia and she created the tall and low centerpiece looks for my reception and some AMAZING arrangements for my church (see photos of wedding). I had a large wedding party including six (6) bridesmaids plus the bridal bouquet, church flowers, pew bows and 20 reception tables (large and small). She worked with my budget which was so small compared to what would be required by other florists. PLEASE get a quote from her . She is located on 9th Street NW (near U street) in Washington, DC. And ask to see a photo of her handsome little boy who is gorgeous! I Worked with her for nearly a year trying to get everything right - and I know I was not the easiet bride to please. But she was patient, she was collaborative and incredible and the flowers were THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COLORS (you know I love yellow and orange). My BM bouquets were breathtaking and my bouquet was so HUGE. Just what I wanted!!Trust me she will make your experience amazing. People are STILL talking about my flowers and cheered (literally) when the DJ announced they could take the flowers home. I interviewed dozens of DC flower shops - including THE most popular ones in the area and was thrilled when I met Nubia and the value and with her work and her prices. When my god daughter's florist disappeared 5 days before her wedding, I contacted Convention Floral. Nubia accepted the job on May 1st. On May 3rd the most awesome arrangements were delivered to the wedding. The flowers were delivered approximately 1 hour before the scheduled time. Nubia filled our last minute order exactly as requested and went above and beyond to ensure that the floral were exceptional. I had never used Convention Floral before, but they are now my florist of choice. Many thanks again to Nubia and her staff for providing such outstanding service. I wish you continued success!

If you want the freshest flowers and the best service, Convention Floral is the place to go. Their prices are very fair and they always have great ideas. I researched all the fine florists in DC and am happy I decided to go with them. I knew that the flowers would be beautiful but when I saw them on the day of my wedding, I was overjoyed. The flower was so polite and they worked so hard to make my special day even more beautiful than I could have possibly imagined.

Nubia was wonderful to work with. She is quick to respond via email (my preferred mode of communication), and if you are a bride on a budget, she will work with you to achieve the look you're going for at a price you can afford. I enjoyed how Nubia seemed just as excited about creating my floral vision (summer wildflowers) as I was. She is truly passionate about her business and enjoys new creative challenges. Nubia communicated clearly and followed through on our plan by delivering the flowers and personally setting them up in our reception space as promised. We chose Nubia and Convention Floral because we were looking to support a woman-owned business in our neighborhood and we were really happy with our choice. Nubia had great ideas about flower choices and helped make our all-white flower palette pop. She also helped us choose flowers that were in season which helps keep costs down. There was a lot variety in the arrangements, despite the fact that all the flowers were white. Overall, we thought Convention Floral was a really a good value and were very happy with our wedding flowers.

This flower shop was our first pick when we decided to see florist and I would say it was great!! The flower shop so colorfull and vibrant we were served coffee and saw lots of portfolio pictures where we found our centerpieces. Convention Floral has delivered their flower on time and it was beyond our imagination. Definitely will use them for different events that we will host in the near future.

Go to Convention Floral for all your floral decoration needs; don't even waste time scheduling appointments to see different florists. I met with 6 shops and regret the time I wasted driving around. Stop reading and go to this florist they delivered exactly what we discussed during the free consultation with Nubia. I would recommend this flower shop for everybody who need unique and stunning flowers.

Nubia was wonderful to work with and always got back to me either via email or telephone. Since we were spending so much on the venue, we had a limited budget on our flowers. We heard so much about how Nubia can worth with any budget, and she did the same for us. She stayed within our budget, even when it had to go down, she worked with us to arrange, and re-arrange our floral decisions.

Pros- My bouquet was out of this world! It was EXACTLY that way I told her I wanted it. Also, the flowers for the Church ceremony was beautiful. Delivery was performed on time. She is very responsive! Works within your budget. Groomsmen's boutonnieres were great and lasted throughout the night.

Cons- My now husband's boutonniere collapsed by the end of the ceremony! It was sad that the orchids, which supposedly would have lasted the whole time did not keep up. He had a two orchids for his boutonniere, and by the time we did pictures after the ceremony the first fell off. The second fell off at the beginning of our reception. The only other con was that the bridesmaid's flowers were not all equally nice. Some of the roses has wilted petals, and thus some bridesmaids had great looking bouquets and others were passable.

Overall, I would still recommend Nubia!

We are still receiving raving reviews on the decor. Nubia helped to make our day special from start to finish. Even with a large Bridal Party, she still was able to take the vision and implement all that we asked with all the changes, etc. Although we were short on some flowers, no one really knew and the day went on!!! Great Work on bringing to life, "A Royal Enchanting Journey"!

Nubia was a life saver. After being frustrated with some other florists in the area I found out about Convention Floral online. It was 1 month before my wedding. She was able to meet with me right away and help me get the flowers I wanted on the budget I could afford. She fit me in even though she was already scheduled to do another wedding on the same day. I think it helped that I just needed bouquets/boutonnieres (no center pieces or further arrangements) and that I knew what flowers I wanted. I sent her some pictures but mostly just described what I wanted and the flowers turned out perfectly!

We met with Nubia several months before the wedding, and she paid attention to the details and specifics that I had wanted within my flowers. She is not super attentive when answering emails, though I am always checking and responding to emails, but it does take her a few days to get back to you. I also did not realize that I would have to bring items back to her shop after the wedding (though she does this for a fee). Thanks Nubia for the beautiful flowers!

Mrs. Fasil was very professional and her service was good as well. I feel that the floral arrangement was overpriced however, the service compensated somewhat for the price. Also, she was willing to make exceptions to her original price when she was presented with a comparison price.

Positives: Nubia was very flexible with our contract. She agreed to charge an hourly rate for services and charged me for supplies. We agreed on the type and quantity of flowers both for the bridal party and for the table centerpieces and she gave me an itemized list of flower prices and supplies. I found this approach to be significantly cheaper than the traditional way of purchasing wedding floral arrangements - you know exactly what you are paying for as opposed to some random price pulled from the air (as I found traditional florists tend to do). She was very pleasant and professional and the flowers arrived on time.
Negatives: The colors did not match what I had ordered. I wanted an arrangement of orange, cream, and red roses, I got pink, cream, and red roses - and the pink did not work well in the arrangment. In her defense, she may have ordered the right color but received something different from the supplier. In any event, it was a bit disappointing and distracting on the wedding day. But overall a positive experience and would probably use her again.

I placed my trust in Nubia that she would make my wedding beautiful, as promised, and unfortunately she did not live up to my trust. I chose to hire Nubia because she was much less expensive than another florist I met with. However, the cost savings was not worth my disappointment, and I wish I had paid more for a more reliable florist. I would not recommend Nubia based on my experience.

I provided photos of the bridal bouquet and cake flowers I wanted. The bridal bouquet roses were not the colors I wanted, nor what was shown in the photo, and the cake flowers were not the type I wanted, nor what was shown in the photo. I thought by providing photos I gave Nubia very clear direction of what I wanted, but I was so disappointed. The cake flowers simply did not look good, in my opinion -- there were lots of stems showing, which looked so unsightly, and it did not look like the photo I provided. I had my coordinator take apart a bridesmaid's bouquet in order to fix the cake the way I wanted it. When I requested a refund for the cake flowers from Nubia, she refused. She did offer me a credit to her store, but I have no desire to do any more business with her.

In addition to being upset about my bridal bouquet and cake flowers on the day of my wedding, I found out additional details about Nubia after the day that I found even more upsetting. She arrived by herself to the site, without any assistance to unload or set up -- I would have been fine with this if she had done all the work, but she called my day-of coordinator to ask for assistance. My coordinator had other things to do, and it was unprofessional of Nubia to request her assistance when I specifically paid Nubia to do this job. Additionally, I found out that Nubia brought candles (for my centerpieces) that had been previously used. Not only do I find this tacky and unprofessional, but it's also unacceptable because this causes them to go out sooner.

In short, I was very unhappy with Nubia's services.
