Fantastic musicians

These folks were wonderful! Booking was easy, their repertoire is vast, and their performance was just perfect. For a small fee they even learned a song that they didn’t already have in their options and we got the most beautiful performance we could ever dream for!

Fantastic Experience with CRS

Columbia River Strings was an amazing vendor to work with. We used them for our pre-ceremony music and during cocktail hour. The booking process was easy and payment on their site was very straight forward. They have a wide selection of songs but were also able to add and learn two new songs that we wanted as well. For our songs to walk down they aisle, we had specific start and stop times and they were able to adapt very easily. We had a black tie optional event and they were dressed to match. They added an elegance to the day and were exactly what we were looking for. Would highly recommend to anyone needing string music.

Incredibly talented and professional

From the beginning, working with Columbia River Strings was wonderful. Rebecca helped us decide on a package, and always responded quickly and professionally to any questions we had leading up to booking. We unfortunately were running around too much to have gotten the chance to say hello to the musicians day of, but we got so many compliments on their playing and what we were able to hear of the prelude + the ceremony music was amazing. They also arranged a song for us, which came out beautifully. I would absolutely recommend Columbia River Strings to anybody seeking musicians for their wedding.

Wonderful experience

I had a great experience with columbia river strings, they were so quick and easy to communicate with on top of being wonderful musicians, and they even were able to accommodate a last minute custom arrangement for me. Our guests really enjoyed the music and it was so special to have them for my walk down the aisle. would definitely recommend!

Lovely addition to our wedding!

Columbia River Strings was easy to work with and performed beautifully for our wedding ceremony. The site is a little confusing and you have to be the one to reach out to them to ask questions and make sure things are clear, but they respond quickly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quartet for an event - they are reasonably priced, professional, and play very well!!!

Like the movies

Columbia River Strings was the easiest decision we could have made. We had an outside garden wedding and having a quartet provided the perfect touch of class and magic to our big day. If youve ever seen a movie with a wedding where there was a quartet and you thought you might consider the option, id stop thinking about it now and book Columbia Rivers Strings right away!

Absolutely perfect!

We had a quartet for our wedding and they did an amazing job. I even requested a special song and they were able to accommodate and they were able to make my vision come to life! They really were the cherry on top that really set the mood and pushed our wedding over the top. Thank you for all your hard work! We appreciate you so much!

Awesome Musicians and Easy Booking

I heard Columbia River Strings at a wedding venue crawl back in early 2020 and tracked them down when we decided to do an intimate outdoor ceremony in August. We hired a string duo (cellist and violinist) through Columbia River Strings and they sounded fantastic! It was very easy to book the musicians and was a good value. They had a variety of classical, pop, and jazz songs to pick from on their website to design our own playlist. We would definitely recommend using this company to friends and family!

Classy wedding at Gray Gables Estate-String Quartet

I was a professional pianist playing high society gigs for 30+ years, so when my daughter was married, we wanted the very best, and knew what that meant in music. Excellent music makes or breaks your event, and Columbia River Strings are at the top of the game. I am quite a critic, and can tell you, they were perfection itself! Their “book” is broad offering all kinds of repertoire and the players are amazing. I expected to play 50% more for what we got.

Perfect Addition to Our Wedding

Having this quartet at our ceremony and elopement brunch was absolutely beautiful. The quality of the musicians is unbeatable and the intake form for songs to prepare for our day was easy and very helpful. The musicians were professionally dressed and delivered a high quality ambiance. Working with the coordinator was a pleasure and they were flexible as our timeline changed slightly. I would definitely book with this group again, and hope to do so when we have our full wedding celebration next year!

Amazing!!!

They were a wonderful addition to our summer wedding. So many of the guests enjoyed them during the cocktail hour. Walking down the aisle to that beautiful quartet was like a dream. They have so many options and you can tell they thoroughly enjoy their work. Would definitely recommend them.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Columbia River Strings at the Art of Weddings Venue Crawl and I cannot say enough great things about them. August Wedding

Booking the Columbia River Strings quartet was one of the best decisions we made for our outdoor wedding. Our only regret is that we should have hired them for a longer session, as they were just fantastic! There’s a great variety of music to choose from and you can’t beat the price. From the beginning, it was apparent they have a very high level of professionalism and Rebecca had some very appreciated suggestions for us as this was our first time planning what scores we wanted to have played during the pre-ceremony. Columbia River Strings added a classy yet fun element to our wedding, and honestly we would look for any excuse to hire them again.

Great musicians

Hired Columbia River Strings to play my sisters wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on September 28, 2019 at the . I provided music from my end and played guitar. I was happy how quickly and proficient the musicians were after 1 hour of rehearsal with the full group. Highly recommend the group. Chris was our lead musician and was excellent. I was blown away by their ability to improvise and jam along with our 4 chord guitar pop songs without sheet music in front of them. These guys play at a professional level. When I get married I will hire them again for my wedding ceremony. Highly recommended.

Absolutely Amazing!

These guys are literally THE BEST! Everyone absolutely loved them. They're extremely professional and very talented musicians. Beyond what we could have imagined and probably one of our favorite part of our wedding. They really turned the big day into a classy, traditional wedding all while playing songs we all knew and loved. Worth every penny.

Absolutely worth it!!

I am so glad I chose to have this string band come to our wedding. They were fantastic. They were very easy to book and pay for online, they showed up on time and dressed professionally. But best of all, they played BEAUTIFULLY! I had them play for the welcome 30 minutes before ceremony, the actual ceremony and then the cocktail hour after. They were seriously the best. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. My guests loved them and it was really a nice and intimate touch to the ceremony. I can't wait to get back the video of the wedding so I can hear them play again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great Choice for Our Special Day

As those planning a wedding know, during this high stress time it is extremely important to have open communication with your vendor and to feel confidence in their ability to deliver. Refreshingly Professional

I hired the Columbia River Strings for International Women's Day at my company event. The style of music they played was exactly what I requested which led to a very successful engagement at our event.

The process of booking the group was fast and easy through their website and they took all major credit cards for the deposit and final payment.

Awesome Quartet!

Columbia River Strings was amazing! They worked with me to surprise my bride during our ceremony with an accompanied song. Their repertoire easily made a set list of modern hits, including some of my movie and video game favorites! I cannot recommend enough!

I could not be happier with the professionalism and talent that Columbia River Strings had to offer. From my very first email to the last song at our wedding I was blown away by the prompt responses, the answers to my silly questions, the talent of the musicians, and the available song selections. Columbia River Strings was able to arrange my husband and I's song so that I could walk down the isle to it and they completely set the tone for our intimate but elegant wedding. Our guests all commented on how amazing they were and were very excited to hear contemporary music mixed in with wedding classics. Skip the DJ and go with live music. I promise you will not be disappointed!

We booked the string quartet and Rebecca, the booking manager, was super responsive and really willing to work with us on the music we wanted for our special day. We received so many compliments from our guests about how awesome the musicians were and we were so pleased that they blended right in with our dress code (black tie optional). We were so incredibly impressed with the musicians' willingness to move to a different floor/location after our ceremony to play for our cocktail hour. They have such a wide and more modern selection of music and when that is coupled with their offer to play a custom piece for you, they are just a dream vendor to book for your wedding. We were so glad we did!

We hired a string trio from Columbia River Strings to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They did a phenomenal job and really added great ambiance to our outdoor ceremony! We had a great experience with Columbia River Strings. We had a string trio come to our wedding in August 2017, and they were fantastic. They played loudly enough for everyone to enjoy it, but not too loud as to drown out conversations. It was obvious they were very professional musicians, they look professional and played incredibly well. They were punctual and very friendly. I couldn't recommend them enough!!

Great value, very professional. Easy to work with leading up to the event. Great selection of songs. The day of, I was worried because the forecast called for rain for our outdoor ceremony. We set up a canopy for the duo of musicians and they happily stuck out the rain during our ceremony. They were friendly, happy, courteous, and professional. I would highly recommend them!

Columbia River Strings was a wonderful group to work with. We had Casey, a violinist, play ceremony music and it was absolutely perfect. We got married at a waterfall, that was about a one mile hike in and out. Casey carried her violin and music stand the entire way. We hadn't really planned out a lot, so I just asked her to play a selection of her choice, and everyone commented on how wonderful the songs were. Casey is talented and also friendly and sweet to talk with. I highly recommend Columbia River strings!

CRS was the cherry on the top of the cake! Our wedding would not have been the same without the music provided by the talented CRS musicians. The string trio added the perfect touch of class to our wedding, my wife and I both loved the sweet sounds this added to our outdoor event. We even waited for the musicians at the end of the cermony to thank them, they absolutely made our day. Thank you and good job, you made our already special day, that much better.

We had the Columbia River Strings play at our Company Dinner. They were fantastic and added a great degree of class and atmosphere to our event. The Star Wars theme was certainly a highlight, and I also enjoyed their versions of modern music like FUN. Also, one of their violinists definitely looks like Andrew Garfield, so... there's a chance he might be Spiderman.

When I started to plan my wedding, I wasn't sure of a lot of things beyond the groom - but I did know for a fact that I was going to walk down the aisle to "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)" by Arcade Fire and I was going to make that happen come hell or highwater.

I found Columbia River Strings through a random Google search and after a few prompt, positive, informative emails with them I was ready to book - mostly because their fee includes learning one custom song. Perfect!
Their payment process through the website is easy, and I appreciated being able to pay online.

We did encounter some sprinkles on our wedding day (it *was* a September wedding in Oregon) but came prepared with a pop-up 10x10 canopy for the musicians which you are required to provide, so don't miss that detail (same goes for extreme heat).

Living in another state paired with a busy wedding day meant never actually meeting any of the musicians in person, but I am so glad they were a part of my wedding day - the music was lovely and my favorite part of the whole day was my walk down the aisle, to my song of choice, performed beautifully by Columbia River Strings.

The string quartet with their contemporary music added a real Portland Vibe to the cocktail reception after my son's rooftop wedding at the Exchange Ballroom.

I'll be honest, I was so tunnel-visioned during the wedding that I'm not sure I actually heard any music. Either that, or it just blended so well into the beauty of the day that it was indistinguishable from the love and excitement I was feeling anyway. My guests sure noticed, and we received nothing but incredible compliments! I can't wait to get the video so that I can hear it again =).

I must say, Mitchell was a pleasure to work with. He was professional and reliable, and was able to work with our musical choices last minute. We would definitely recommend this group to any of our friends!

I hired the Columbia River Strings for my daughter's wedding and could not have been more pleased. The music was wonderful and the two new songs requested for the processional were truly amazing. I hired them to play during the cocktail hour as well which delighted many of the guests. Received many compliments from the guests regarding the music. I can't say enough about how personable, wonderful and understanding Mitchell is, and the quartet was phenomenal! Completely professional and prompt, Columbia River Strings was one of the few parts of the wedding I never had to worry about once the plan was set. Wonderful! I was truly sad that I didn't have the time to just sit there and listen to them!

Of all the vendors we interacted with for our wedding, Columbia River Strings was the most professional in terms of responsiveness. When you're in the planning stage, it is very frustrating when you can't get ahold of a vendor. Almost every time I called, someone answered or called me back within the 1/2 hour. Aside from the business professionalism, the actual music was divine. They created a heightened, elegant atmosphere that made everyone feel lucky to be there. I am beyond pleased with the result. The Columbia River Strings exceeded expectations in every way. Not only are they fabulous musicians with a wonderful repertoire, they know how they fit in with a wedding ceremony to make it a memorable and enjoyable experience for all. When we contacted Columbia River Strings to provide music for the ceremony portion of our daughter's wedding, we went totally on faith by what we saw on their website as we were planning the wedding long distance. We were very pleased from the first time we received an e-mail when we first contacted them with their responsiveness and ease of communication. They day of the ceremony was stress free and their sound is beautiful. Their website has many popular selections to listen to. Bride and groom chose all the music and they also can play many selections that are not listed. (As mother of the bride, tissues necessary!).

I could not be more thrilled with my experience. They offer to learn a song of your choice. I picked a Sigur Ros tune for when family and wedding party walked down the aisle. I was already in tears by how beautiful their version was; even before I walked down the aisle!

Would recommend them in a heartbeat. Really easy to work with too.

We had a string quartet from Columbia River Strings play our wedding last weekend. Our wedding ceremony was at a park that did not allow amplified sound last weekend and Columbia River Strings was an amazing addition. The music was beautiful. Several people commented to us that they typically do not get emotional at weddings but the ceremony music really got to them.

We were especially impressed by how well they aligned the music to our ceremony given how little we communicated with them (which was our fault because we were terrible at promptly responding to their e-mails because we were so busy getting ready). Even with our very slow and non-thorough responses, they nailed the flow of the ceremony we were going for. The audience probably thought they had practiced with us at the rehearsal!

On top of how amazing they were to work with, their prices were competitive compared to the other string quartets we spoke with.

I couldn't be happier with my choice to use Columbia River Strings for my memorial weekend wedding. The rates were extremely reasonable, especially considering I got a few quotes for twice as much, and guests really enjoyed guessing which songs they were playing (i went more contemporary/pop/movie scores). They were able to play the perfect song for me to walk down the aisle to and moved around to accommodate our shifting venues (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner).

Great experience working with Columbia River Strings!

Columbia River Strings was awesome! They were very professional and accommodated all my requests. My sister sang with them, and easily rehearsed with them before the ceremony to provide beautiful music. They also provided us a DJ (DJ Mandy) who was AWESOME! She made some great last minute changes to make sure my sister was mic'ed properly, plus helped out during the dinner with announcing tables and setting up audio equipment for toasts. She also put on great music for dancing, responding well to our weird group of millenials mixed with a bunch of Gen Xers who all ended up loving the 90s hip hop she was playing!

Absolutely Made Our Wedding Ceremony!

I can’t say enough about the Columbia River Strings. They truly elevated our ceremony to another level.

The musicians are so talented, and each and every piece they played was absolutely gorgeous. It set the tone perfectly. There were even a few pieces we requested that they weren’t able to play as a string duo (which we had), that they surprised us with! It made the day that much more special to know that they put that effort in. In any event, everyone loved having them there, and they were incredibly friendly when I went to thank them for playing.

I cannot recommend them enough! Amazing talent that takes an otherwise unforgettable day and makes it perfect.

Great touch

These guys were great and added a unique flair to our wedding. Even though they didn't play every song we requested, they played different songs that fit in to the genre (video games/movie soundtracks) that were not options on their songlist online. All of our guests had good things to say during and after the ceremony, we would definitely recommend them to anyone else!

Ceremony Music

We had a pianist and 2 strings - they were wonderful and worked with our cantor before the ceremony and even on the spot rearranged music for the Bride's processional! We could not have been more pleased!

These guys were easy to work with, came on time, and while I didn't interact with them at all as the bride, I heard they were good to work with. I absolutely recommend them, but do think you should definitely have someone onsite to communicate, especially if you are straying from the cliche Wagner and Pachibel stuff, or if you want them to play a specific part of a piece. Also, there was a bit of a long delay between the bridal party music and the bride and father music, which was a surprise, but fortunately we had a family friend to notify them to change it. Other than that everything went perfectly and they played really well...just be very clear with what you want on the day of the event itself and maybe have someone there to coordinate.

Our daughter decided to get married in the Columbia Gorge at an outdoor venue, so we were very happy to find The Columbia Strings who were willing to come to play for the wedding, even though it was an hour or more drive from the Portland area. We found Mitchell to be friendly and helpful in answering all our questions and making us feel confident that they would provide beautiful music for both before and during the ceremony. The day turned out to be beautiful and sunny and having The Columbia Strings play some special requests for the Bride & Groom made the wedding even more special.

String Quartet and DJ for wedding

I used Columbia River Strings for my music for my summer wedding.
They provide a string quartet and DJ for you for a pretty good price ! The string quartet was beautiful and played instrumental songs that all my guests loved. The DJ plays your top 10 songs and really provided a good flow for the reception. They work with you and help you stay organize for your music for your wedding! This is a great company that every bride and groom should use for their wedding !

Columbia Strings was great! They played beautifully, they were on time, they followed the set list, they were even smart enough to cut our ceremony song a little short because it was 102 degrees out and everyone was sweating, including the guests! Communication was spot on, they have a booking manager, so you really feel free to ask questions and have things appropriately answered. The quality of the playing was good, not great, but I am a professional, classically trained musician, so I have very discerning ears. All in all, I would recommend!

We booked a cello and violin duet for our ceremony. CRS was really helpful when we were trying to decide on a recessional song and sent several options with YouTube clips. The music was beautiful! There was one small communication glitch and the musicians were not aware they were playing for 90 minutes (they packed up and started to leave right after the ceremony), but our day-of coordinator was able to smooth things over and keep the music going.

Quit Over 2 Hours Early - Ghosted on Refund

Please beware. I would provide 0 stars if possible. These musicians agreed to perform for 4.5 hours, including through the reception dinner. They quit 2 hours early - never showing up to the reception (which was at the same property) - and then have ghosted when I inquired about a refund.

Here is our latest correspondence, and I've yet to hear back despite following up.
