Colton is THE BEST. We got married at the Spring House Hotel on Block Island and you seriously would have thought Colton had shot on Block Island a million times from the way our photos turned out. He delivered us 40 incredible photos a day after our wedding that had us screaming! And did I mention he even stayed late to accommodate our timeline? He was so organized and such a joy to work with the entire day…..and I quickly learned how important that was, since next to your partner, your photographer is who you spend most of the day with! He was also a joy to work with leading up to the wedding - sending encouraging texts and checking in. We joked that when Colton had to wrangle us and warn us that he was going to seriously crank through some family/bridal party photos, kinder words couldn’t have been spoken. He perfectly toes the line between time keeper and flexible partner. And he’s a great thought partner when planning - asking all the right questions and organizing everything you share so that you won’t be thinking “oh I have to get a picture with grandpa” on the day-of. He’s got it covered. One of the many highlights of the day was meeting his wife and two daughters! If anyone is reading this - book him NOW! You won’t regret it. -

Colton was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding at Glen Manor House in July 2025. From the very beginning, he was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and helpful and always available to give timeline advice or talk through ideas for vendors and the flow of the day!
On the wedding day itself, Colton made everything feel smooth, effortless, and fun. He got every shot we hoped for (and so many fun special spontaneous moments) while keeping everything natural and comfortable. Our guests and wedding party, many of whom have been to countless weddings, kept pulling us aside to say how exceptional he was and how he set a new standard for wedding photographers.
And the best part!!!! We woke up the next morning to 90 sneak peeks waiting for us. The photos were stunning, emotional, and captured the magic of the day perfectly. We were shocked to get that many edited photos so quickly!
We cannot recommend Colton enough. You will feel like a friend of his by the end of the day! If you’re looking for a photographer who is talented, organized, calming, fun, and goes above and beyond—he’s it. -

BRIDE: Colton was absolutely amazing to work with!! Not only is he insanely talented, but he made my now husband and I so comfortable the entire time & made the photo session at our First Look so much fun! He was so effiicient and organized, making the entire process so easy. During our wedding day, our wedding party and I arrived to our first look location late due to a miscommunication about transportation (while my husband and Colton were waiting for us there) however Colton did not show any signs of stress and instead acted efficiently to get us back on track. Not only was this impressive, but it was a feat with a group of 30 people. While falling behind on your wedding timeline can be stressful, Colton truly took off any ounce of stress I could've felt. He was cool, calm and collected the entire time, and just a blast to be around. My entire family has not stopped raving about him and I feel so honored to have had him capture our wedding day. The sneak peak photos we've received are absolutley stunning beyond belief. On top of that, I was actually sad when him and his team member Emily were leaving because at that point they felt like friends! 11/10 recommend. If you are considering booking him, 1000% do it. GROOM: "As someone who usually feels pretty uncomfortable in front of a camera, I honestly couldn’t believe how fun and natural Colton made the whole process. He brought this calm but upbeat energy that not only put me at ease but somehow managed to wrangle our huge family and 11 groomsmen with total efficiency. Colton was absolutely the perfect photographer, and we feel so lucky he captured our wedding weekend! His talent behind the camera is undeniable. Colton’s photos are stunning, artful, and full of emotion, but just as importantly, he was a joy to be around and brought such a calm, positive energy to both days.
We had Colton photograph not only our wedding day but also our welcome party the night before, and he was incredible across the board. He worked closely with our planner to coordinate logistics and timing, making everything feel seamless and stress-free. He was everywhere without ever feeling intrusive, capturing candid, intimate moments we didn’t even realize were happening.
And somehow, he managed to send us a full sneak peek of our wedding photos the night of! I was so blown away, I literally asked him if he ever sleeps. And wow! The photos are absolutely STUNNING. He didn’t just document the day; he told a story through his lens. You can feel the energy, the love, and the joy in every image.
One of my favorite shots is of my husband and me walking down the steps at the Castle Hill Inn lighthouse, with the ocean and lighthouse in front of us. It’s the kind of photo you dream of… timeless, romantic, and beautifully composed. Truly a work of art, and just one of so many. As I start to create our wedding photo album, I’m finding we have so many amazing photos to choose from, I don’t know how I’ll narrow it down!
Beyond his talent, Colton is just wonderful to be around. He made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera and struck the perfect balance between offering guidance and letting moments unfold naturally. Several of my bridesmaids commented on how great he was to work with. Colton was engaged, kind, and incredibly professional. He genuinely felt like part of the wedding party, cheering us on and capturing every meaningful moment with care.

From start to finish, Colton was extremely professional, personable, and so easy to talk to. He made sure to really get a feel for our vision of our day. October Wedding 2024
After interviewing with multiple photographers it was clear to us that there would not be a better person to photograph our wedding other than Colton. Colton was extremely professional, personable, and knowledgeable at our first meeting. He also contributed to the planning process during the months leading up to the wedding. He also created a day of schedule that totally set our family, wedding party and other vendors up for success on the wedding day. During the wedding Colton worked beautifully/ swiftly and joined in on the celebration in order to capture priceless moments between my husband and I. When we received our photo gallery we were speechless. The photographs are absolutely breathtaking and better than we ever could have imagined. No moment or detail went un captured allowing us to relive our special day forever. -

Colton photographed our wedding earlier this year and it was truly one of the best decisions we made!! From the start, Colton was so easy to plan with, was interested in getting our vision for the wedding day and was always so responsive. Colton helped create a great timeline for the day and made sure all details were included in the planning process. My husband and I are not very comfortable in front of the camera and he made it the most comfortable experience ever. The pictures came out SO perfect and we now have the most amazing memories of our day to have forever. Colton captured the day so beautifully, authentically and thoughtfully. There were also some moments throughout the day where Colton pulled through as much more than a photographer. He kept us on track throughout the day and somehow made sure to get all of the pictures we had envisioned and even forgot about ourselves. Colton photographed both our wedding and our post-wedding sunset sail. From the beginning consultation call to the day itself, he was the consummate professional! From our first call he laid out a great timeline, and throughout he was super organized, lightning fast responsive, had good takes on other non-photo wedding decisions we asked his opinion on, and is generally a delightful human you want to be around on your wedding day. When we asked to add photography for our post wedding event with two photographers about two months out, he got it done within 24 hours and not only that he ended up personally photographing the second event as well! It is clear Colton loves what he does and has a vision. His energy and enthusiasm for your wedding is infectious, and he always hyped us up. The day of, he put us completely at ease and did a great job of directing two people who are not naturally photogenic. Our wedding party adored him also. The previews came back before we even woke up the day after our wedding, and are absolutely stunning — we cannot get over them! They capture the emotion, vibrancy, and dynamism of the day, and Colton nailed the balance we wanted of setting vs people vs details. Work with Colton! Beautiful, Emotion, Natural
Two words: BOOK NOW! If you are looking for a wedding photographer that captures timeless, naturally lit, emotional photos, Colton is your guy! From the first meeting throughout the entire process, Colton was well organized and full of expertise on how to make the day feel seamless while still capturing all the important moments. One of our most important asks was to make sure we were able to join our guests during the reception and not take too much time away for photos – he not only made it happen but captured some beautiful shots! We were so blessed to have a photographer that is not only talented but also so incredibly helpful on the planning front.
Now on to his artistry. We were able to work with Colton for both an engagement shoot and wedding day. Every photo was so thoughtfully set up to utilize the natural light and captured in a way that felt authentic and emotional. We were absolutely over the moon when we got our engagement gallery back and even more so when we got the wedding album. Colton even captured all of our guests dancing in such a cool way that truly highlighted their personalities and the fun they were having. Everything we asked for was checked off and then some!
All of our wedding party and guests had nothing but great things to say - and that should be very telling! I haven’t noticed photographers as a guest too often and the fact ours were so complimentary speaks volumes to how great Colton is. He brought the art, the expertise, and great energy to our day.

Colton. Is. The. Best!
We reached out to Colton as our first photographer inquiry and we are so happy and lucky that Colton was available for our wedding date. We knew right away that he was the one for us during our initial conversation with him. He listened, and he really got to know us. Our wedding was in Block Island during one of the worst rain/wind storms. This was the week that the ferries couldn't run for multiple days and Colton was stuck on Block Island for a few days because of this. He was finally able to make it home mid week, and then came back for our wedding less than two days later. The weather didn't bother us, but it didn't make it easy for the photos, or so we thought. Colton was able to make everything still work out just as we had planned, rain or shine. Colton does all the thinking for you so you don't have to. He works with your vision and uses his own creative skill to bring your visions to life. He not only has the photography skill we were looking for, but he is fun, makes you laugh, and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera. He is incredibly responsive and takes care of you from the moment you meet/book your first call with him, through months after your wedding. Not only is booking with him seamless, but so are all of his processes. Colton had multiple weddings a week, every week, through the end of the year, so we did not expect to receive our photos back as soon as we did given how busy he was (which is a good thing). He let us know in advance when he would start working on our gallery and delivered when he said he would. We honestly did not expect to receive them back so soon. Colton's passion for photography and his customers is no secret from the moment you meet him. Anyone is lucky to have Colton if they have the chance to book him for a special event. -

Amazing Sarasota photographer
We are so happy with our choice of Colton for our wedding photographer and highly recommend him in the Sarasota area. The week leading up to our wedding was stressful as the weather forecast kept looking worse and worse. Colton was flexible on the timeline day-of and we were able to get pictures outside in Sarasota during the one 30 minute break from the storm.
Our pictures turned out better than expected. He captured our day beautifully - our excitement and love is evident in all of the photos.
We will cherish our wedding photos for the rest of our lives and can’t thank him enough!! -

Amazing photographer
Due to Covid and pushing our wedding back . I had quite a bit of time to search around for photographers. I searched and quoted A LOT. I knew the style I wanted and I knew how much money I was willing to pay. When I came across Colton I fell in love with his photography and his prices were fantastic! We booked with him the same day and didn’t look back. Come wedding day, Colton arrived, knew exactly where to begin. Everything was in an order and he moved us all along with ease. (Photographing a large group of people is no joke.) He knew exactly what he wanted and took initiative. Professionally and calmly. We ended up with the most amazing photos of our special day and couldn’t thank him enough. We highly recommend him for any of your photography needs ! -

the best of the best
My husband and I worked with Colton for both our engagement shoot and September 2023 wedding in Newport, RI. I stumbled across Colton's instagram one day and was immediately drawn to his light and airy editing style and clear expertise at shooting weddings. From the get-go, working with Colton was a breeze. He's a true professional - organized, communicative, adaptive, and more. You can tell he cares deeply about each couple he works with and strives to give them the best experience and photos possible! When it came to both shoots (engagement & wedding), he made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera. He listens to feedback and ideas for poses and backdrops, while also being able to see what will be a perfect shot before it's even taken! His calm, cool, and collective nature alongside the ability to command any wedding party only added to the stress-free hours before the wedding. And not the mentioned THE PHOTOS! We were blown away and in tears at our wedding gallery. The amount and quality of photos received was above and beyond our wildest dreams.
We also used Colton for his photobooth offering at the reception and it was the perfect addition to the space. His team was fantastic to work with on this piece and it was a huge hit among guests! I don't think there was a time where I looked over and didn't see a waiting line! We love that we received a photo book of everyone's shots to look back and and share laughs over.
While Colton's style of shooting & editing is what initially drew us to him, his expertise, professionalism, charisma, and ability to make you feel so comfortable working together is what really sold us. I can't thank Colton and his crew enough for the 10000000/10 photography and photo booth services provided. If you're in the market for a wedding photographer, seriously, look no further. Colton is the best there is. -

Basically since before we got engaged we knew Colton was our guy just based off his Instagram. He does beautiful light & airy photos and film! which was a rare find while searching through options. He was amazing to work with while planning.. quick to answer emails, helped with timeline planning, adjusted easily to changes. He has a great personality & made us (awkward people who hate the camera) feel so comfortable. He is super professional & really really good at his job. He kept us following the timeline, reassured me when it was raining while getting ready & even put my veil in. His second shooter Kayla Paiva was also great! We received over 800 photos about 4 months after our wedding and they came out so amazing! -

We would give one million stars if we could! From all of his glowing reviews and amazing photographs on Instagram, we knew Colton was going to be an excellent choice for our wedding photographer, but he FAR exceeded all of our expectations. From the very beginning, Colton was thorough, organized, and responsive, and we developed complete trust in him throughout the process. On the day of our Block Island wedding, a tropical storm threatened to sabotage our day, but Colton arrived and got right to work helping to ensure we had the most memorable and special day of our lives! He brought such great energy and professionalism to the day and was truly instrumental in making everything run smoothly despite the weather adding some extra challenges. He made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, as though it was just one of our friends taking pictures of us. He even sent us a bunch of sneak peeks a couple days after the wedding, when we were all trapped on the island due to suspended ferry service. The photos were AMAZING, and put a huge smile on our faces as were dealing with a lot of logistics for a surprise extended stay for us, our guests, and our vendors! We truly can't say enough good things about Colton or thank him enough for all he did for us. I would recommended him to any of my friends or family members for any photography needs!! -

Colton was amazingly helpful and professional from our first meeting. He's an expert in his craft but also takes any guidance or requests from the bride/groom as needed. Colton sent a survey ahead of time asking for our picture requests (which were MANY due to our large family) and he nailed all of them. The prep ahead of time helped the day go more smoothly. Every picture is posed beautifully, and he even was able to capture the little ones smiling - IN UNISON. Colton made the day stress free and helped guide us to what we wanted to do and where we needed to be. We chose to do all pictures prior to the ceremony so we could attend our cocktail hour, which he respected and ran with. I highly recommend Colton to anyone getting married - his delivery of the album is perfectly organized and my family was SO impressed with his quick turnaround on 50+ pictures the day after our wedding. Extraordinary
We worked with Colton’s associate photographers Kayla and Matt. They were fantastic. Kayla was amazing and showed the guys how to do their pocket squares! Matt and Kayla made our day so perfect. They both were great to work with and have great personalities. Colton did an amazing job editing our photos. It was exactly what we dreamed off. These photos we will have forever and it’s so nice they captured all of our special moments. We are forever grateful! We chose two photographers and it was so worth it. They didn’t miss anything. Mello Wedding
Colton was such a pleasure to work with. He captured every detail and emotion of our wedding day so perfectly. He is such a talented photographer that asks you questions to make sure he understands your vision and what is important to you. It is evident that he absolutely loves his job and capturing memories for couples that will last a lifetime. On the day of our wedding all of our family members were blown away by how well he managed the process and how professional and talented he was. We flew through family and bridal party photos with ease which was no easy task with how many people/combinations we had. Throughout the night he managed to capture hundreds of stunning photos and you hardly even realized he was there!
Only a week after the wedding my beloved grandmother passed away unexpectedly. When Colton learned of this he went out of his way to pull photos of my grandmother from the wedding and we were able to use them for her funeral and memory boards. I cannot put to words how much this meant to me and my family as these photos will always be the last that we have with her, and he captured them so beautifully. He took time out of his busy schedule in peak wedding season to do that for us, and it is a true testament to who he is as a professional.

Working with Colton was seamless! He is patient and so great with directing photos and people for positioning or posing. His excitement for our venue and location made it even more fun! He was very flexible with us as we had a destination wedding, he was very prepared and found great photoshoot spots ahead of time around the downtown area and even checked out the venue too. He worked seamlessly with our videographers as well and was super helpful to us first time wedding planners with loads of questions. Absolutely amazing to work with and takes amazing, magical photos, choose him! If you're traveling for your wedding/destination wedding, I couldn't recommend him more! -

My wife and I had originally booked another photographer, but decided after a few unprofessional emails and responsiveness issues that they were not the right candidate for our wedding. Extraordinary
My wife and I hired Colton for our wedding at the Wyndham Atlantic Resort in Middletown, RI a little over a month ago and we can say without a doubt that it was one of the best decisions we made for our special day. Colton was exceptional and exceeded any and all expectations that we had. Despite a couple of hiccups beyond our control, Colton more than made up for the time with how professional and efficient he was - which really speaks to his experience in the industry. This really showed specifically during all of our group pictures, as Colton was subbing people in and out of group shots better than most NBA coaches handle substitutions. This showed once again during our couple shoot. Colton knew the exact locations to visit and the poses that he wanted to get and he took us to about 9 different locations at Salve Regina in under an hour. As far as the quality, the pictures really speak for themselves. Colton truly captured all of the magic on our day. From the light and airy style photos, to his flash photography and his black and white - they all came out beautifully and truly captured all of our special moments and emotions. He even had a set of 60+ sneak peek photos ready for us to enjoy the NEXT morning! Colton was very easy to work with, listened to us and helped us feel comfortable. We are absolutely over the moon with how our pictures came out and cannot recommend him enough for anyone else’s special day. -

Where to begin!! Colton is exceptional at what he does and hiring him to be our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we've ever made. When it came time to searching for wedding photographers, there was a certain style my now wife was looking for when it came too our wedding photos. After evaluating a number of other photographers, she finally came across Colton. Colton was a blessing in disguise and one of the easiest wedding vendors we worked with, when we got married in late October of 2022. Colton managed to take two people who both see themselves as un-photogenic and have them confidently looking into a camera which resulted in STUNNING photos, that we’ll have for the rest of our lives. Everyone we’ve shared the photos with to this point, can’t get enough of the photos and we are glad they love them as much as we do. It was clear before we worked with Colton, but even clearer after the fact that Colton has a eye with a camera and you can tell he loves what he gets to do everyday. Stunning photos!
We booked Colton for our wedding during our first ever meeting with him because we knew right away he was the perfect choice to capture our big day! We were immediately struck by his professionalism and responsiveness, and his photos speak for themselves! Later on, we discovered he had done weddings and family shoots for several of our friends, and they all confirmed that we had made the right choice! Colton was super easy to work with, on our big day and earlier in the year during our engagement shoot as well. He made us feel really comfortable while posing, and nothing felt forced or fake. Even our family and wedding party commented on how Colton was so easy to work with, laid-back but still able to keep us moving quickly through the different group shots so that everyone could get back to the party. The photos he took for us are absolutely stunning, beyond anything I had envisioned! While unforeseen circumstances prevented us from getting some of our photos, Colton still was able to capture an unbelievable amount of amazing shots throughout the day that we will cherish forever. We also received a beautiful album with some of our favorites from the day. Since our wedding, Colton has shot for two other couples that we are friends with. Working with Colton was fantastic for our wedding!! Let me start by saying finding a wedding photographer who show cased interracial couples in their portfolios was trickier than I thought it would be but was a high priority to ensure our wedding photos would look great with our different lighting needs as bride & groom. Found Colton via tagged photos on Instagram and instantly loved his style that matched what we were looking for and knew he would get us the best photos on our day. He was responsive and had great communication throughout planning. Wedding day was easy and not stressful as Colton worked quickly to find the best spots at our venue and wrangle all the family and bridal party. There was a timing issue with the wedding before ours ending late cutting into our photos limiting where we could get shots but Colton was fantastic at pivoting and ensuring a stressed bride we'd still get everything! Wedding Party & Family even weeks after were complimenting how great Colton was! Got our photos back about 3.5 months later and instantly fell in love with how they all turned out. Colton and his second shooter were a joy to work with & we could not recommend him more!! -

Let’s start from the beginning – I had delayed finding a photographer to capture our engagement photos for 3 years, until I finally came across Colton, and instantly loved his timeless style. My first conversation with him on the phone, I knew he was going to deliver. We set a date for him to capture a Newport, RI engagement session for my fiancé and I. Colton had excitement in his energy that I really appreciated when I shared the meaning this place held for us, and he instantly had a vision and plan on all backdrops we could go to during our session. This was the first time we were having professional pictures taken, and I was nervous on how it would go. Within minutes he had us totally comfortable and feeling confident, to our surprise we literally had the funniest time ever! Within hours Colton shared a sneak peak with us, and we were in complete shock in the best way possible at how he was able to capture us!
Before that session was even over, we knew we had to have Colton travel with us to our destination wedding that we were in the early stages of planning in Mexico. We we’re overjoyed that he said yes with no hesitation, and was once again excited. Little did we know, we would arrive in Mexico with Colton as our photographer, and leave feeling like family. Throughout the time from our engagement shoot to leaving to Mexico, he checked in frequently to make sure we had consistent communication, shared the same vision prior to leaving, and provided so many great recommendations. Its really difficult to articulate how magical the week was with him and his family. Leading up to the big day, he captured so many memories for us that we are so beyond grateful for. Colton never hesitates to make sure you’re anything but happy, even when I felt like I had “odd” requests, he welcomes and embraces uniqueness. He brings so much value, but throughout the week he came brought his amazing visions to reality. On the actual wedding day, he went above and beyond, and honestly could have smoothly executed our entire wedding by himself – his capabilities to execute are unreal. He checked in on my fiancé morning of, radiated his calmness to us, captured every moment leading up until the “I Do” and after, and made it the best day & experience ever for us and our loves ones. Just an example of how he is willing to do whatever it takes to authentically capture moments, the last 30 minutes of our reception it unexpectedly started to pour, and we embraced it my capturing our last dance in the rain, which is now our favorite moment – pure magic!
We are so fortunate to have his wife Katrina with us also, she equally has an eye and gave us amazing tips during our second engagement shoot! My family is equally in love with their family, they brought so many smiles to our faces throughout the week. Everyone with us witnessing Colton in action is blown away at his professionalism, humbleness, ability to connect with not just the couple but their entire family, and his commitment to delivering. Just to depict the impact he has, we are now back from the trip, and my family refers to him as “cousin Colton”. We cannot wait for more moments that he will be able to capture for us and our family in the future and so thankful that we choose Colton from the beginning! You should not hesitate for a second to work with Colton on any special moment you’re thinking about capturing.

We hired Colton for our wedding on 10/2/2022 at Five Bridge Inn in Rehoboth, MA, and we can hands down say it was one of the best decisions we made for the entire day! From the very first consultation call, Colton was easy to work with, organized, and made us feel at ease. His planning process was a breeze, with a very detailed form, to ensure that we were all on the same page for our vision for the day. I am also an event planner and now that I have also been a bride, I can confidently say that having a photographer that you vibe with and like to be around is SO important because of how much time you spend together on the wedding day - and Colton was the PERFECT MATCH. He has a calming presence while also being extremely organized and on time. Our family photos were done SO efficiently while still capturing everything we wanted. Colton also went above and beyond - he helped put on my veil, helped my husband put on his cuff links, and helped my brother set up the DIY photo booth we had put together without even being asked to do this. On top of that, we already had 19 preview photos by 7:30 am the morning after the wedding and they were STUNNING. We seriously loved working with Colton and his associate, Matt. What initially drew us to Colton Simmons Photography was the lightness and effortless beauty of his photography. We felt that his style and vision matched really well with our small wedding on the Cape.

I hired Colton to take my engagement photos and the second I got them back I was in love and new that I would like to use him for my wedding! Not only is Colton a super talented photographer but also a super cool guy!
After working with him on my wedding day I have a whole new appreciation for his creativity and professionalism. Colton made sure he got every shot that I wanted for my wedding and beyond. You can see how passionate about photography he is when he is shooting, constantly coming up with ideas for amazing shots. When we were on the dance floor later in the night, Colton had an idea for a cool picture, black sunglasses. I ran to grab mine, but my husband did not have any, so he ran to his car and got his, taking some of my favorite shots from the wedding. Something I would have never thought of!
