Great DJ Experience

We really enjoyed having Colorblind Productions DJ our wedding. They kept the dance party moving and played everything we wanted. Rob was really responsive throughout the process and was able to make some last-minute changes when we needed his team to help out with the ceremony. Recommend!

Colorblind Productions did a fabulous job at my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The dance floor was full the whole night. Assessed the crowd and played music that kept everyone dancing! Love them!

Best DJs and Photo Booth operators EVER!!!
I saw them at a friend's wedding and had to hire them for my own wedding. I loved all the songs they played and they really kept the party alive and going!!! We all had the time of our lives!!! Rob was super responsive and he really catered to our needs. We loved him and his staff and we'e been recommending Colorblind Productions to all our friends and family. Thank you again for making my dream wedding come true!! Everyone at the wedding won't stop talking about how much fun they had and I also love looking through and watching the Photo Booth pictures and videos!!!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would! We absolutely loved working with Rob and Colorblind Productions! We were adamant on having a bilingual DJ and read so many wonderful reviews on Colorblind Productions. Since day one, Rob has always been professional, easygoing and patient.

During the wedding, Rob did such a great job on reading the crowd and knew what music to play to keep the party going. Rob knows his stuff! I am Peruvian and when I told him that he needed to play some cumbia for the wedding, he knew he had to play some Grupo 5! Guests raved about how much they loved the DJ!

Jeremy was our MC for the wedding and was phenomenal! He translated the intros during the reception, which was perfect since the majority of our guests speak Spanish. He brought such a great energy to the reception and made sure to get our guests on the dance floor. The props were also great and the guests had so much fun with them!

The conga player (don't remember his name) was amazing! It was such a great touch. I would definitely recommend adding a live percussionist, specifically a conga player! It made the music sound so much better! :)

Rob was very flexible when we wanted to add video to our package a few months after booking with him. We were able to get the raw footage the night of the wedding. We looked through the clips the next day and it was great to relive our special day!

I would recommend every bride to Colorblind Productions! You won't regret it!

Rob the DJ, of Colorblind Productions, was awesome!!! While shopping around for vendors, we found his prices very competitive, especially given his experience. We were also impressed with his professionalism. He was always available when we had a question or concern, and he walked us through the process of planning our reception. He clearly understood what we wanted for our reception – something fun but laid back, and something that combined our love of soul music and R&B with our Spanish roots. He worked with our music choices, making a really nice blend of Latin music and American music. Everyone at our party really enjoyed it. All in all, Rob was very easy to work with and, as said already, very professional. His assistant (we never got his name) was also very nice and easy to work with. All in all, if we had to do it over again, we wouldn’t trade Rob for anyone. He was perfect!!! Highly recommended.

There's really not much to say about Rob and Colorblind....they were completely professional from start to finish, extremely accommodating, and they provided perfect entertainment for our wedding. Rob was great from day one, and even provided us with a tailored package to meet our needs. He was always a phone call or an email away, and on the day of he showed up early and left late. He was a pleasure to work with and made planning our wedding that much less of a hassle. Rob even went above and beyond what we had originally agreed on, and he handled wedding day-of changes without any issue whatsoever. I'd recommend Rob and Colorblind to anyone without hesitation.

I have been in the business for over 17 years as a wedding pleasure and have known Rob at Colorblind Productions for that long. He is simply amazing. I recommended his DJ and Video services to my client who got marred at the Westwood on August 2nd and he never fails to disappoint me. My client's wedding was on a Sunday night and the guests were on the dance floor the whole time! The energy in the room was amazing and as always, Rob and his MC Jeremy knew how to read the crowd and had them dancing the whole night. I highly recommend Rob and his staff for DJ and VIdeography services.

DJ Rob and the MC (I forgot his name) did an amazing job at my wedding. His prices were very reasonable for DJing and uplighting and they were extremely professional throughout the process and wedding day. We wanted a bilingual DJ, and as soon as I started to research, I kept seeing the name Colorblind. I met with Rob back in October and booked him immediately. I am SO GLAD I did, and even my new husband, who is incredibly picky with music, was absolutely blown away.

Rob handled the music for the ceremony. When he asked me what version of the bridal processional I wanted, I said it was up to him as long as it flowed well with the bridal party processional. He chose perfectly. I love that he just "got" what I wanted without me even having to elaborate.

We had a multicultural wedding which Rob handled beautifully, mixing Spanish music, Italian music, pop, oldies, and more. The dance floor was packed all night, no matter what genre was playing, and everyone was so impressed how well he balanced the mix of music.

Our MC was Jeremy. He did all the announcements in English and Spanish, so everyone was happy. He went over the bridal party entrances and our plans for the highlight dances prior to the reception so we could make sure everything was perfect, and it was. Jeremy was also phenomenal at managing the party. He made a game out of not allowing the guests to disturb us while we ate our dinner, and he efficiently gathered groups of people for our table & family pictures. He also had the extremely difficult task of calming me down a few times when I was stressing about the next step. I am super high strung but he was really helpful to make me relax and assure me everything was going great.

We also used Colorblind for our lighting package and Jimmy was the designer. As soon as he walked in the room he knew exactly what would look nice, without us even having to ask. The room looked amazing with the uplighting.

Colorblind also handled a baby picture montage for us which looked adorable. I am so happy to have the CD of it to keep.

We are beyond thrilled with Colorblind and would recommend them to everyone!!!

Colorblind Productions and Rob in particular were just what our party needed to make it the most memorable event and a party that people are still talking about! Not only does Colorblind Productions has a broad and eclectic range of music to fit every environment, they have the skills and instinct to know when and how much given the crowd, the time, and the energy. Where do I start? I just have start by saying that Colorblind Productions went above and beyond any expectations we had. All the way from our first meeting they were very professional and knew exactly what we were looking for. I will start with the photographers they were beyond amazing and professional and very patient with everything especially because we had a big bridal party, the DJ service was more than anyone could ask for they knew exactly what to do and say to get the crowd going... there are so many great things I can say about them and our experience with them but its so hard to put into words.
All I want to say is thank you to the Colorblind Production team we are so grateful for everything!

Colorblind Productions was the first and only DJ company that my husband and I spoke to, and we felt there was no need to look any further. Rob was super nice and their prices are very reasonable. They are more of a low key, non-cheesy DJ, although if you're the type that likes props and things like that, I believe they can do that for you as well. On our wedding day, we had Rob and Nuno, and they were both great! They had us cracking up before the ceremony when we were doing a quick dry run to make sure everyone knew what they were supposed to do, and they kept the dance floor packed all night long. We gave them a list of music/songs that we would like, but also gave them free reign to omit any that wouldn't work, and add any that they thought we might like. It worked out beautifully. They played a ton of the songs we asked for, and added in a bunch that we hadn't thought of. The whole while, they stuck to our tastes and kept the party going strong the whole night long. We have gotten nothing but compliments on how great our music was and how much fun everyone had, and I give Colorblind Productions all the credit on that one. They did a fantastic job while staying super low key and non-cheesy like we asked. It was a fantastic time and I absolutely would not hesitate to hire them again for any kind of party or function. Thanks again guys!

Best Wedding DJ I've ever heard! I know that I'm biased because it was my wedding, but Rob and Nuno were amazing. So many of our guests told us how great the music was at our wedding. They played all of the songs we asked for and more. They really read the crowd well and everyone was up dancing all night. I didn't want a garter toss or a bouquet toss, so they had a little more time than usual and they really made it a night to remember. I can't wait to see the video of everyone dancing and having a good time. I specifically chose them because my husband's family speaks Portuguese, and Nuno did a wonderful job translating at the reception. Several guests mentioned that the music appealed to everyone and that the mixture of cultures was smooth and appreciated. I highly recommend them.

Rob was incredibly nice, helpful and dedicated throughout the planning stages of our wedding. He even accommodated our last minute changes on the few days before the wedding; sometimes replying to our e-mails at midnight. While everyone was looking forward to him working on our big day, he unfortunately couldn’t make it and sent his assistant Nuno instead. We were a bit concerned but Nuno did not disappoint. Everyone was having a blast! The team skillfully blended music from the Caribbean and the US, both old and new. I was initially nervous about their ability to mix such genres but everyone kept dancing and having a great time. We only requested a few must-play songs and the Colorblind team great job taking care of the rest. I even forgot that party favors were part of the package; they were really fun props for the reception.
I would recommend Rob and his team to anyone. They are incredibly nice and professional, and most of all, the party was awesome! I wish I could do it all over again!

Working with DJ Rob Velez was a pleasure. Although we had a set playlist that we had gone over with him prior to our wedding, he was able to feel out the crowd, switch some things up in order to keep everyone dancing and having a wonderful time all night long. Rob is a skilled DJ who knows what people want and how to keep the flow of the party going. He was extremely professional to work with and I would definitely recommend him.

Rob, it is so difficult to write reviews, but even more difficult when you want to leave the best review ever! Our wedding was everything we ever wanted and more and much of that is due to our amazing vendors who each were an integral part of it all. Our photo slideshow was perfect and your music choices were exactly right! You catered to our extremely diverse friends and famly and we was so pleased with that.The dance floor was always full of people having a blast--dancing like crazy! I have been with Matt for almost 7 years and I -- wait, no one has ever seen him dance like that! It was the highlight of the night. Thank you for your professionalism, enthusiasm, patience and for your overall commitment to our special event. We really appreciate it and it will be almost impossible to ever thank you enough. P.s. Rob and Colorblind did a great job at our wedding! I would highly recommend them. People had a great time, dancing all night and we were even asked for their info for people who were getting married or wanted to pass it on to friends looking for a wedding DJ. Rob was very nice, easy to get in touch with and easy to work with from the start. Everything went perfectly with the dances and requests, it was great! Colorblind Productions offers a fantastic service where they will DJ with your music. We opted for this and it was an excellent value. We expected hands off treatment b/c we'd picked this service but Rob was very helpful and involved.

Rob has his own company and you really feel like you are dealing with a person not just a generic DJ. He listens to your music ahead of time to help understand your taste, gauges the action on the dancefloor and picks music that everyone loves. We were surprised by the amount of dancing at the wedding and even though it was music we picked we attribute it to Rob's skillful reading of the crowd.

Rob is also an incredibly nice guy and very understanding about how stressed out and disorganized couples are. I would not hesitate to recommend Rob to anyone whether they need just the basics or full DJ services.

Rob and his assistant were outstanding!!! They were always so attentive to my requests, played Brazilian music with no problems, kept the entire wedding on the dance floor. At the end of the party noone wanted to leave!! They were amazing!! Would recommend over and over again!!

Rob was wonderful, I couldn't be any happier about the music! He really knows what to play to keep the party moving, and he really feeds off of the crowd. I cannot speak more highly of anyone than I do for these guys. They are AWESOME! To the very last detail, they were there for me. The photos, video and music was exactly what we were looking for. Dianne and her little bag of tricks saved me more than once that day. They photographers were terrific. They accommodated me and made sure that I got everything I needed that day. The Dj and music was great also. We had guests there from all walks of life and Rob was able to make them all have a great time by making sure everyone's musical tastes were satisfied. Rob really worked with us to make sure that we had everything we needed. He even worked with me husband to bring in extra DJ equipement for him to use that day. My hubby DJ's also and Rob was able to set equipement up (just in case) he wanted to play. What DJ does that? It was perfect! He was more than great, he worked with us on every detail. I highly reccommend them to any couple looking to their wedding run smoothly and have everything be perfect. These guys will make sure that it is! Vanina and Junior:)

In the early stages of my wedding planning, I posted on many forums my search for a caterer that specialized in Spanish food. I never found my "Spanish Food" caterer but someone recommended Colorblind Productions and we booked them even before we had a venue!!! We used their whole company... photography, videography, DJ and event coordinating... and words cannot even describe what they did for us on our wedding day. If you want to have that personal attention and feel like a movie star... they are the ones to go with!!! Dianne and her assistant never missed a beat and took care of everything... literally! Dianne even drove me and my husband home after the reception after we failed to plan that part and no one else was able to take us! The photographers and videographers made us feel like moviestars! Rob had the dance floor packed the ENTIRE length of the reception.... our dance floor was never empty!!! Our guests still ask us what company we used as their quality of service was so apparent!!! There prices are the best in the business and there service is without a doubt THE BEST!!!!! We highly, highly, highly, highly recommend them and look forward to using them for future events!!!!

Rob and Dianne were great. The dance floor was packed all night!! I was sore for two days from dancing all night. Many guests complimented the music selection. Dianne was very helpful all night long, making sure the bride and groom were happy : ) I think every guest at the wedding would use Colorblind Productions for their next event.

This is an awesome couple- and they do an awesome job at what they do! They provided us with DJ service as well as a "Day Of" Wedding Coordinator. They specialize in multicultural weddings and are bi-lingual (spanish/english) This was very important to us since we would have a lot of guests who only speak spanish.

I cannot tell you how much easier Diane (the wedding coordinator) made my life. I honestly do not know what I would have done without her. She was always on top of everything (from making sure the bridesmaids had fans while they were standing at the altar during our outside ceremony, to bustling my dress and touching up my hair and makeup, to lining the bridal party up, to sowing up my dress when I ripped it up in like 3 places!) She's really amazing and I cannot rave about her enough. And that's not even the service that they openly advertise for!...

DJ Rob was awesome- he was just what we wanted: a non obtrusive, non-tacky DJ that played music we liked, and we got just that. He played a lot of the songs on the "must play list". But he was able to get from that list the kind of music that we like, and played awesome music the whole time.

I would recommend them to anybody. And their rates are amazing (especially if you account for a wedding day coordinator being in the package!). Whenver I have another party, I'll be sure to call them

We highly recommend this company for your wedding. Me and my wife found out about Colorblind Productions through a friend. It was easy to set up an appointment, and they were clear about all of the services they provided. They made us feel comfortable throughout the process and answered every question we had. If it wasn't for them, our wedding wouldn't have been as fun as it was. EVERYONE was feeling the music and enjoying the party (they also offer photography and video services which look amazing, so check them out). If you are stressed out about wedding planning, you won't be stressed about the entertainment if you choose this company. All we did was give Rob (owner and our DJ) a few requests and he took care of the rest. He knows how to read the crowd and keep the party pumping. Rob helped make our night memorable in our hearts as well as those who shared that special day with us. The price was excellent, and the night was spectacular!

Colorblind Productions was outstanding on my wedding day! They were a dream to work with and managed to keep everything on schedule. I used them for coordination and video and they were probably the best decision I made for the day! Dianne was wonderful in allaying any anxieties I had during the day and keeping everyone happy. They were also such incredible value for their price. They were also very unobtrusive and blended in well with the guests. Rob & Dianne did a fantastic job at my wedding. All of my guests talked about the music for weeks after my wedding and how much fun they had. Choosing Colorblind Productions was one of the best decisions during our wedding planning. They did an Incredible job for our Photography, and had several people running around taking pictures from every angle, and our 2000 pictures came out amazing. Their DJ'ing was perfect...they listened to our preferences, and gave us exactly what we asked for. People still complement us on how much fun they had dancing at our wedding. We're waiting until our anniversary to watch the video, but again, they had people running around all day taking video, and the footage is over four hours long.

And they went above and beyond what they had to do. Our favorite example of this is when Dianne came early when the girls were getting dressed. Instead of just waiting to take pictures, she was steaming dresses and helping the girls with their hair.

On top of all this, Rob and Dianne are SUPER nice, and very cool to work with.

Overall, I can't believe what a great job they did, and I recommend them to anyone who needs Photography, Videography and/or DJ.

Colorblind was wonderful. They gave me everything I asked for and then some. I LOVED my slideshow at the reception and they even incorporated Christmas music into the reception because I got married near Christmas. They were never hard to get a hold of and really listened to my every wish. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Amazing! I hope my words can even begin to explain how wonderful this company is. We hired Colorblind productions for DJ, Video and Photography based on reviews I received from the knot.

The company is owned by husband and wife Rob & Dianne Velez. Dianne handled my wedding along with 5 others. Dianne and 2 others showed at my house 1 hour early to set up and that was a big help. Not only did they get great shots of us getting ready they helped the entire time. Getting ready has never been so much fun!! They thought of every possible photo and video shot at my house and had everything under control. When my flowers came and my mothers corsage was too big and poofy they helped to rearrange it beautifully. While at my house another photographer was at the church with the guys. The videographers split the time between both.

After our ceremony we headed to Mindowaskin park which Rob recommended in our first meeting. I wanted a nice close place to take pictures and this was perfect. They knew all of the perfect shots and again it was so much fun!

Oscar our DJ along with his assistant Flaco were amazing! He knew exactly what vibe we wanted set. He played music for everyone to enjoy (from oldies, pop, rock, rap, R&B, house, Spanish you name it and it was played) and he mixed it wonderfully. My husband and I have been together since I was 16 (14 years!) and he mixed in a lot of music from the 90s which was great. He even fit in (and not in a cheesy way) New Kids on the Block (I was a big fan back in the day and went to AC to see them for my bachelorette party) There was not one moment that the dance floor was empty and Flaco even got my husband to dance which he never does. Another highlight was when my husband danced with his sister as his mother and grandmother both passed away. They did not think of a song as it was last minute and told Dianne to just pick an old song from Puerto Rico low and behold she picked the song my husbands grandmother used to sing to them (she had no idea) this brought my husband to tears he was so happy and it was such an emotional and wonderful part of the night.

The people at Colorblind did not feel like vendors at all. They were like family. They truly made our day special. They went above and beyond my wildest expectations from, making sure we both ate, scooping us away at the right times (I swear it was like Dianne read my mind lol), stopping the bartenders from serving the wedding crashers, going to 7-11 to get my husband coke (they only had pepsi at he venue and he pretty much only drinks coke and so much more.

Everyone is raving about them from my wedding. I cannot stress how wonderful they are. Please do yourself a favor and check them out. You will not be disappointed. Their prices are unbelievable!!! I had friends and family who paid just for 1 service what I paid for all 3 who told me they wished they knew about colorblind when they planned their wedding.

Rob & Diane went far above and beyond just providing music at our wedding. They coordinated with everyone in our wedding party to make sure that our day was kept very special.

To say that Dianne Velez is amazing is an understatement. We hired her husband to be a DJ and she comes along to give him a hand MCing. We then hired her to coordinate our ceremony and she did a fantabulous job! If not for her, the wedding would have not been as amazing or gone as smoothly.

The fact that she is bilingual just made her even more wonderfulwe had family visiting from Colombia and she was so helpful in terms of communicating with them. She comes armed with a fanny pack full of goodies and was able to repair my bustle twice (thanks for stepping on it, Momheehee) and set everything up for us. She made our bridal party feel comfortable and our two readers said they felt so much better thanks to her. Our friends asked for their contact information so they can book them in the future. Communication with them was wonderful and seamless.

Rob was able to mix pop music for us and our friends with Spanish music for my Colombian family and friends. He mixed our entrance song with our first dance song perfectly. If you are looking for a non-cheesy, but entertaining DJ, Rob is your guy.

AND, they are so affordable. Seriously, go book them. Now.

If I can give the more than 5 stars I would. They were my star vendor. GREAT JOB. Wouldn't think twice about booking them. Dianne and Rob did an amazing job with my many many cultures. Rob had the dancefloor packed the entire night and at the end of the night, the crowd was chanting, "One more song, one more song". My family raves about them. Dianne....she's wonderful, as soon I bustled my dress, someone stepped on it on it and ripped the bustle, so I was there like ok what do i do, I was about to tuck my train in my waist to keep it off the floor and here she comes with a tackle box full of stuff to fix things. So she fixed my bustle and throughout the night as I felt it fall, she was right there fixign it as I was dancing, didn't even know she was doing it. I also took my veil off and my hair got messed up, so in two seconds, she was back wtih bobby pins to fix it. They gave me a video that they took and they photo montage that was created.

They did an amazing job and you would be crazy not to book them. In addiiton to my wedding, I have used them for many other occasions for my family and will continue to use them for all my events. Highly highly recommended.

They arrived early and were set up in plenty of time before our reception. All of our special requests were worked perfectly into the evening. The flow of the music selections worked very well with the generationally varied guest list. Their MC, Nuno, worked the crowd well and handled each event of the evening with care. This is a great DJ product for an incredible value!

I should point out that I chose the ipod DJ package where I supplied them with all of the wedding music and they DJ'ed with it. It was great because it provided me with the flexibility that I wanted for my wedding. I had a backyard wedding with about 60-70 guests. The issue with a traditional DJ is that our wedding was a long day and it would cost a fortune. We had a pre-ceremony cocktail hour at 1pm and the music didn't stop until 8pm. I set up different folders for pre-ceremony, ceremony, dinner and dance music and our DJ, Pete, did a great job with it. He was really pleasant and easy to work with. He came with a microphone and even set it up on a stand so that our officiant could use it. Pete was great with all of our guests. I noticed a lot of people (especially the groom) going over to request favorites. The best part was getting to hear songs you don't traditionally hear at weddings. The music was a total reflection of my husband and my music tastes, especially for the pre-ceremony and dinner music (we're into classic rock, indie and some folk). Once the dance party started, everyone was up dancing. This option is definitely a lot of work up front (downloading, making playlists, etc.) and not a HUGE savings (albeit a big savings) but it's a really great way to truly make the wedding your own. I wouldn't recommend just using an ipod on your own, but the Colorblind package provides the soundsystem and DJ'ing skills (fading, volume control, pace of dancing). Altogether, great job Pete and Colorblind!

Rob was awesome the day of the wedding. We had seen Rob in action at 3 other family events, so when we started planning the wedding we decided to give them a chance. We met up with them and clicked. My husband and I loved the fact that this was a married couple doing what they loved. When we sat with Rob a week before the wedding we were so happy to see that he had the music we wanted, and was on the same page as we were on the vibe we wanted for our big day. The day of the wedding Rob was fantastic. He was not only our DJ but stood in as our second videographer. He kept the vibe we wanted the whole night as well as kept the crowd on the dance floor. He stuck to the do not play list, and if anything came up he asked if he could play it before doing so. I would recommend them to others. The only small issue we had with them was they were sometimes slow to get back to emails, but responded very quickly to phone calls.

We had initially thought that we could do our wedding without a "day of" planner. We were very lucky that we changed our minds, and even more lucky that we went with Dianne.

We met with Dianne a couple times before the event and immediately realized that she has a very hands on approach to the whole event. She listened to the ideas we had come up with and gave us some advice, without trying to put down what we had already done.
In our case, we are both architects, so we had tried to work everything out ahead of time, as far as the space planning, table / lighting design went. Her suggestions helped us to round out all of the things we hadn't thought of and to know what the conventions are for schedule, design, etc.

Closer to the event, Dianne was extremely helpful in arranging delivery of various things that we were renting and buying.

On the day of the event, it is hard for us to describe how important she was to the set-up and execution of the whole day.
Our event space was only open for us to set up at 1:00pm (for a 6:00 reception) and it was delivered with no decoration whatsoever. When I left the space at 3:00 (to get ready and go to the church), the rental company had screwed up and none of the tables were there. We left Dianne and her assistant Maggie with all of our descriptions of how the space should be. By the time we got there at 6:00 after the service, it was perfect. I don't know how they did it, but everything was exactly how we had planned it in our heads.

I think that the best indication of how well she did her job is that Vivian and I were never even aware of the "behind the scenes". Dianne kept us blissfully unaware of all the various troubles that had arisen with the vendors, time of drop-off etc. Basically we glided through our wedding, with a full drink in hand, having a wonderful time with the people that are most important to us in the world. And for that we'll always be grateful.

I think in our case the "day of" arrangement was perfect because of all the work we were willing to do ourselves. But if we were too busy to do it ourselves, I would trust Dianne's taste and design sense to do a "total wedding planner" arrangement.

We used Rob for our November 2016 wedding. Initially, I was concerned because his pricing was so reasonable. I felt he could have been a little more responsive to emails, but that's the worst I can say. He was amazing. We provided him with a list of music and I don't think he missed any of our requests! Everyone had a great time and the music fit the mood! He brought an MC with him, that I had initially forgotten about, and he was also great! I would recommend Rob to anyone at any time.

simply amazing! they had everybody dancing all night long. the MC was very energetic... loved them!!!! The only bad thing is that it was hard to get in touch with the DJ. However, he made up for it with his amazing music! great prices too.

My husband and I were impressed with Colorblind Productions upon our first meeting. My family is African American and Cuban and my husband is English, so needless to say we had a big challenge in selecting music for the reception. The DJ was very patient and showed us many videos of different kinds of weddings to help us discover the "feel" of our wedding. He also let us pick and choose what services we need and customized the pricing to fit our needs.

I was so busy before the wedding day that I didn't fully complete our "Play" and "Do Not Play" list. I was very worried b/c I'm very picky about music. I was worried for NOTHING. Everything was perfect during dinner and dancing. We didn't use the DJ for cocktail hour since the reception venue had music.

Dianne was great, she came fully equipped with a bridal kit of necessities and was able to bustle my dress!

My wedding was amazing and mostly because of DJ Rob and Dianne. All of my guests and family of ALL ages wanted to keep the party going! I highly recommend them!

We got married May, 2012. We came across colorblind Productions while looking for a DJ that could handle a diverse crowd. My family is from Jamaica, and England my husband is from the Dominican Republic. We had family members that did not speak English at the wedding. We both have a very diverse group of friends, from growing up in Brooklyn, NY and friends we made away in college years. And now we live in NJ. There were also our co-workers and clients. Many of my husband’s clients are Jewish. We are also Christians so we wanted good music but also clean. Considering everyone would be traveling to NJ for our wedding we really wanted to make sure everyone had a good time. We came across Rob’s website with Colorblind and met with him in his home. We were not 100% sure he was the right DJ after that meeting, but after the wedding we were 125% sure we picked the best DJ. They did a wonderful job working with Crystal Plaza and our minister at the ceremony. At the reception from the beginning they had everyone on the floor. I saw people dancing to music they have never danced to. Everyone just jumped in together and had a great time. This was also a day wedding but you would not believe it from the amount of fun we had. This is months later and people are still telling me this was the best wedding they have ever been too. They had so much fun. He played the best mix of dance, hip hop, reggae, R&B, bachatha, merengue, salsa, and Tipico. They only thing I would have liked to have been added was Calypso, but that did not change things. We have the time or our lives. We were so happy that we selected Colorblind for the most important day of our lives.

The day of the wedding, Colorblind Productions was awesome! My husband and I were very pleased with the music they played and they had all of our guests up and dancing during the reception. Everyone had a blast.

The only downfall was leading up to the wedding during the planning process, the responsiveness was slow at times and there were a few times we had no response at all. Personally, I like to communicate through emails and maybe phone calls are best when needing to communicate with this business. We made a phone call appointment at 2 weeks prior to our wedding to go over all of the details for the day and ended up waiting over a half hour until finally calling them in which they were completely unprepared for our call. This made me a bit nervous with our wedding day being so close, however they did show up to our venue on time and did amazing.

We used the iPod DJ package that Colorblind offers, which is such a smart thing to offer! We were set on picking the music ourselves, but were scared of the logistics. Then we found Colorblind, and for only a little more than what we would have paid to rent the sound system ourselves, they provided the equipment and someone to set it up, run it, mix the music, and tear it down at the end of the night. It was a great situation for us, and they were a real pleasure to deal with. As some other reviewers have said, it sometimes took a little while to get a response, but that's because they are small and busy, and for good reason.

I thought Dianne and Rob were great people, but there were some bumps along the way. They are both very busy people which often made them hard to get a hold of leading up to the wedding. I really appreciate people who respond to me somewhat quickly. On the wedding day there were a couple issues. Mostly minor, but still issues. I’d been assured there would be no problem with the microphone on the beach for the ceremony. Lo and behold, during the ceremony, the microphone was constantly breaking up - making it hard for most of our audience to understand. Dianne is meant to act more as a day of coordinator, and in many ways she did - but in some ways she did not. I had warned her that many people would not understand the tradition of the Jewish Hora. At the wedding, when the Hora was played I found that I actually ended up having to try to teach people to dance in a circle. I had to tell the men lifting me that they had to put me down (they thought they had to keep me up on the chair the entire song!) I also needed to find the parents to get them on the chair. At this point the chair was already put away and Dianne was nowhere in site helping me with this task. Rob, as a DJ, was trying to appeal to the entire crowd. So for example, at one point he began a row of oldies songs. After the 2nd song, when absolutely no one was dancing – he probably should have tried to switch it up a bit. Instead he played about 5 oldies songs in a row, of which, not many if any people danced. At the end of the night, when many of the older people left –he finally began playing current music from about 11pm – midnight. I kind of wished the whole night had been like this one hour. Also, Colorblind had to deal with the fact that the Ocean Place kept cutting them off at awkward moments. Totally not their fault. On the positive sides – our package included a candid photographer who shot pictures for the screen. He did an excellent job! He was not in our way at all and the pictures looked great (hopefully I can get those pictures?) Also, they made us a gobo and used different color lights all night that made it really feel like a party. Rob acted as a DJ and not someone who yelled at people to get on the dance floor – this was a good and bad thing. Good because he wasn’t annoying like I find many other DJs to be. Bad, because instead I was the one asking friends/family to get on the dance floor. As a whole, I am still really glad I picked Colorblind. The DJ was the hardest thing for us. I think we saw about 15 DJs before picking Colorblind. I think we made the right choice, but there was room for improvement. With Colorblind it is really an amazing VALUE you are getting.

I am really disappointed with this business. He let me and my husband down and my bridal party down as well. He made a lot of mistakes during the reception and during cocktail hour as well. I gave him a list Of music we wanted played during cocktail hour and he didn't play any music at all. They are unprofessional and I wouldnt recommend him to anyone at all. He doesn't mix his music smoothly and is choppy with it.
