    Wonderful Space for Bridesmaid Luncheon

We had the Bridesmaid Luncheon for my daughter's wedding at Cohen's Retreat, the space was beautiful and the service was excellent. Gabby was so helpful in guiding me through the menu planning and details. The food was delicious and everyone left full and happy.

    Perfect Venue

My husband and I got married at Cohen's Retreat on Leap Day 2020 (ceremony + reception, ~100 people), and cannot say enough good things about this venue. The staff -- Gabby, Chris, Chef Will, Nikki -- are incredible. They were helpful throughout the planning process, and then knocked it out of the park the day-of. All of our guests complimented the food, cocktails, decor and friendly staff. We picked Cohen's because it's naturally such an eclectic and cool space -- you really don't need to decorate much! And it's a one-stop shop for food and beverages. We also rented out the back cottages for the bridal party, which made the weekend extra special. We highly recommend!

Amazing Food, beautiful venue, best staff ever!

Cohen’s was the best place for our wedding reception! The rooms are so beautiful, the food was to die for with so much flavor! And the staff was so amazing. Chris was there to help the groom and I with everything he knew our needs before we did! Highly recommend having your events here.

Cohens Retreat was a wonderful place for us to have our wedding! We were looking for a completely indoor venue because our wedding was in August and between the heat and the potential rain we didnt want to take a chance. The staff was incredibly accommodating, even though there was a high turnover rate of staff, we worked with 3 different wedding planners there. But it was still very professionally done and we're thankful for them!

Now that Gabby and Colleen have taken over the event planning, I don't think this place can be beat. We had to completely start from scratch after the first event planner left. Gabby and Colleen were so professional and accommodating. Our reception was everything we had dreamed of. Chris the bartender took such great care of us that night. We loved everything about Cohen's and the food was delicious.

Cohen's Retreat is an amazing new event space just outside of Savannah's Historic District. We were one of the first Weddings to hold a Reception in the "Art Tank" event space. We had just over 70 guests and it was just right, cozy but still workable.

I recommend this space for the bride that is looking for a venue that is distinctly southern, but with an edge. My fiance (now husband!) are both artists, so we were looking for a fun, eclectic and modern space that still felt like Savannah, Cohen's makes that mark and more. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our tastes and for the vibe of our wedding.

The team at Cohen's is great. Kaney was amazing help at every turn, making sure that we knew all of the details as they developed, she was quick to respond and helpful when we needed even the smallest details like dimensions of tables and numbers of chairs.

Beware, as with most venues, using outside vendors will cost you. We did a mix of theirs and ours, which turned out nicely. Our bar service was provided by Kirk who runs the restaurant and bar at Cohen's. He was really helpful in getting some specific things that we wanted to be served, and helping with quantities when we decided to bring our own wine. Also, his staff is great, and attended to our every need during the event, absolutely perfect! Just be mindful that you will be encouraged to use his service, and if you choose not to you will pay dearly for it. I would highly recommend that you use him for your bar service. We did not try the food so I can't make a recommendation there.

Also, we rented one of the cottages for getting ready and to stay the night-of, this was perfect, and made it easy on us that everything was in one location.

Overall I would highly recommend this space, and we are proud to feel like we were some of the first to discover this hidden gem!

Chef Kirk Blaine and his team at Cohen's Retreat exceeded our every expectation for an amazing wedding reception. The venue is fantastic, the food was incredible. The staff was great and quickly accommodated the smallest request we had. I can't wait to head back to the restaurant, Kirk is one of Savannah's best chefs and I've enjoyed every meal I've had from one of his kitchens.
A special thanks to Kaney to for all her hard work planning the event and keeping everything in order. Thanks guys!

    9/21/2018 Wedding Reception

When looking for our wedding reception venue we were looking for something romantic and modern with a mix of vintage. We were immediately drawn to Cohen's with its beautiful and artsy touches but originally thought they were out of our price range. But after talking further with Gabby and having her explain all of our options we realized it was perfect for us. We had a small destination wedding (we live in MD) in September. Our ceremony was at Wormsloe Historic Site and reception at Cohen's Retreat which worked out perfectly as they're only a few miles apart from each other. I (bride) can't say enough good things about working with Gabby and how flexible and patient she was with us. She was really attentive to all of my numerous questions and was good about calling me back and replying to my emails. She went over every option available and explained everything in detail. I really appreciated her working with not only me but our other vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly. On the day of the wedding I was sad I couldn't meet Gabby in person but was told she was on a much needed vacation so was happy to hear she was having fun with her family! The only thing I would note is that there were extra empty place settings/chairs at some of our tables which made them look a little empty. I'm not sure if there was miscommunication somehow that led to this but overall our experience was great with Cohen's staff. The (I think his name was Chris?) who was the other event manager and our bartender for the night was amazing! He was very helpful and super friendly! Our guests had nothing but nice things to say about him and would definitely recommend to other brides to book your wedding at Cohen's with their awesome event team and beautiful decor.

I personally had a horrific experience with the staff when trying to plan my wedding at Cohens Retreat! Since booking my wedding at Cohen's they went through 2 wedding planners, both of which were mandatory to work with ( as they are their own venue planners) and both of which had no idea how to plan a wedding. Luckily, I hired an extremely capable wedding planner that assisted me in finding an alternate venue when, 1 month before my wedding Cohen's breached the contract I signed with them and decided to make it mandatory to use not only their caterer but also their bar. Their bar pricing was 3x what I ended up paying at an alternate venue. Stay far away, their are far nicer and friendlier venues in Savannah! I must add that they did provide me with a full refund when they realized they could not fulfill the original contract we signed, but the added stress right before my wedding was not what I had in mind when planning my special day.

From an event venue perspective, this place is an absolute nightmare. We had issues from the moment our contract was signed, and they continued well after our wedding reception was over. The contract is pretty vague, but they're sure to reference it when it works in their favor. Otherwise, nothing for you as a customer is set in stone.

The current "event and development manager" (which seems like a stretch) is incredibly rude and unhelpful, and she refuses to work (cooperatively or otherwise) with brides. She was my 2nd point of contact, as my first mysteriously quit responding. I never once laid eyes on her throughout the 9 month planning process. Nothing is truly included in the venue rental and the onsite caterer is challenging to work with. They will do absolutely nothing on your event day besides unlock the front door. We woke up the Monday after our wedding to an outpouring of congratulations and kind notes from our other wedding vendors, but all I ever got from Cohen's Retreat was a bill for "excessive cleaning."

Stay FAR AWAY from this place if you're looking for an event venue or event vendor. There are other beautiful locations in Savannah that will treat you like an actual customer, and plenty of incredible vendors that are willing to actually help.
