Coastal DJ did a great job at our wedding (Dec. '24) and we highly recommend them. We had a small wedding of approximately 60 people where the ceremony and reception was in the same room. They provided the mic for the officiant, ceremony music, music for the reception, and some dance floor lighting. We were able to choose from a wide variety of music that made our wedding so personal. All the music played was from our list and much of it was personal to us, a family or friend, or was dance songs we wanted. There was a "do not play" list as well that was much appreciated as we had guests there we were trying to be respectful to and there are some songs completely off limits. The DJs were a lot of fun and their attire even matched our wedding colors. We were doing all the wedding planning ourselves so the ease of choosing songs and the occasional email reminders of helpful information was also appreciated. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but they were not part of my stress by any means. Thank you Mr. Wainwright and your staff for making our day fun and memorable! -

We hired Coastal DJ & Video for our wedding in Carolina Beach this October, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From the start, speaking with the owner, George, made it clear we had made the right choice. The glowing reviews we had read were already convincing, but after talking to George, his professionalism and wealth of experience completely solidified our decision. He made us feel at ease right away.
Their online portal was a fantastic tool—it allowed us to customize our song lists and upload our wedding schedule, ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Our beachfront ceremony presented unique challenges, but the team handled it flawlessly. They set up on the beach for the ceremony and seamlessly transitioned to keep the vibes alive during the reception at the house we rented.
Our DJ, Karl, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly helpful leading up to the wedding and truly shone on the big day. His MC skills were spot-on, keeping everything on track, and his energy and music choices had our guests dancing all night. The vibe he created was everything we hoped for and more.
Coastal DJ & Video made our lives so much easier on the biggest day of our lives, allowing us to stay present and soak in every moment. If you’re planning a wedding, I can’t recommend them enough—eight days a week! Thank you, George, Karl, and the entire team, for making our day so special. -

I am not from Wilmington so I had to google DJs in Wilmington.
Coastal DJ is more than your DJ for your event! They will send you emails reminding you of what you need / should do 90/ 60 / 30 days prior to the date of your wedding! As the MOB and planning my daughter’s wedding this was very helpful and kept me on track!
Our DJ Kyle provided us with wonderful music for my daughter’s wedding! He was on point with everything. Super nice, professional and he kept everyone dancing!
I would highly recommend this company for any event large or small!

George. Some call him DJ but by the end of the night I called him friend. You are a kind soul, George, and you surpassed every expectation.
If you have a playlist, he’ll stick to it. If you don’t know what you want, he’ll read the room almost flawlessly and play what it needs. If you have a mixed crowd, he’ll take request or play what he knows will reel every single person is. And through this he will wear the most beautiful smile. George filled the room with joy without them even knowing it was him.
He is extremely professional, prompt, kind, and the only DJ you’ll ever need from this point forward.

Matt C was our DJ and he was awesome! He was super professional and knew how to get the party started! Everyone was out on the dance floor! Matt listened to all of our requests and followed through with every single one. Coastal DJ & Video made it so easy to pick what music we liked and what we didn't like so we did not have to stress at all about music! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great DJ! -

Dj West was the absolute best!!! All the guests were on the dance floor all night long. People I didn’t think would dance were dancing and I have Dj West to thank for that! He made our wedding so so special and every guest was talking about how great he was. As a bride without a coordinator, it was nice having a dj to keep the party organized, have music coordinated for our ceremony, announce us as a couple/first dance, and let us just enjoy the night with friends and family we love! I would highly highly recommend Dj West. You will NOT regret it! -

Jesse was the DJ for our wedding and I could not be happier with our experience! I was able to speak with him over the phone the week of the wedding to walk through our song choices and vision for the day which eased a lot of stress. George and Coastal DJ is the best!! We had a long reception (7 hours total) and we wanted our guests to really have time dancing and having a good time, and George made it happen! We met with George the week leading up to the wedding and had everything planned out. The portal was easy to use and we were able to upload our own Spotify playlist for him to pick songs out of. He kept the party going and knew when to hype it up and die it down. He was a great emcee for the evening and was a great addition to our evening. If you are considering a DJ in the Outer Banks area, look no further and go with George! -

We worked with George and his team as the DJ and photo booth at our wedding at The River Room in downtown Wilmington on October 8, 2022. George was so helpful throughout the whole process, the online portal and reminder emails made the process very simple and easy to follow from start to finish. We LOVED our DJ, Joshua, who did an amazing job blending our own musical styles with what the crowd wanted, keeping people on the dance floor all night. He was so kind and fun and we'd absolutely recommend him and the Coastal DJ team for any event. Upgrade to the modern white DJ table... it's worth it and makes the whole room look more upscale! -
