Charles was awesome!! He captured all the important moments of the day, plus some I didn’t think of. Our wedding was a destination wedding so it was scary not knowing what we were getting into, but he put us at ease every step of the way. Charles is by far the best in the industry!! From day one he made us feel at ease about the process and what to expect. The Day Of he was every where catching everything we asked for. Great photos and even better personality!!
We hired Charles for our engagement and wedding photos (in October 2024) and had the most positive experience!
To start, he is very easy to get ahold of, responds quickly, and all around has a great level of communication! He was always on time for our meetings and made sure he took the time to understand our photo vision! He was super flexible with specific picture requests (like including our dog) and had a lot of fun and creative photo ideas to contribute!
Most importantly, Charles has such a wonderful and positive energy that is infectious!! He kept everyone relaxed and having FUN on wedding day! It is clear that he simply loves what he does and being a part of people's special days!
And to top it all off, his turn around time was incredibly fast for getting the photos back to us! We hadn't even made it home from our honeymoon and our photos were already waiting for us (in just two weeks)! Just WOW!!!
Overall we loved working with him and would highly recommend him to anyone! Thanks Charles for everything!!

We would highly recommend CM Photography! Charles photographed our wedding. He is very professional. He is so friendly, as soon as we met him it felt like we were old friends. He really took his time and captured every moment. Communication was so simple. Any questions I had were answered within a matter of minutes of sending the message. Me and my husband got married on 4/20 and Charles was our photographer for our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos, and our photos came out so beautiful! Charles was amazing. I had issues with my wedding dress, so I couldn't get bridal photos done until 2 days before my wedding. He was accommodating and extremely understanding. He was also with me the entire wedding day and captured some really special moments! As a person who does not like having my picture taken, he made sure I felt comfortable and beautiful all day! Absolutely Amazing Photography!!
Charles did absolutely amazing!! He took my bridal portraits and wedding photos. He had a canvas made and brought it to the wedding to display my favorite bridal portrait. He made everyone feel comfortable and laughing the entire time! He was open and flexible to try different poses, but our favorites were usually the poses he recommended! He took posed and candid photos of the ceremony and reception. We loved all OVER 1000 photos he sent us only 10 days after! We enjoyed working with CM photography and will definitely hire them again in the future! Thank you so much!

Love at First Site.
First, let me start by saying I live in Michigan Charles lives in South Carolina, I had recently lost my mother and had to cancel my wedding here in Michigan to care for my Mom. Months later, my now husband and I decided to have a destination wedding and we agreed on Charleston. I started by searching for a venue, then a photographer. Best Photographer in the Carolinas
Cannot say enough good about CM Photography. I have worked with Charles on a multitude of projects, the latest (and by far largest) being our wedding, and he NEVER fails to absolutely nail it. Our wedding photos could not be more perfect. They absolutely capture the vision I wanted and more.
Charles is so laid back yet professional and his creativity and direction really show in his work. Even my non picture loving husband had fun working with him on our special day.
Charles has worked with my toddler and many dogs through the years and still manages to make magic happen. If you're looking for a photographer look no further!

My husband and I loved working with Charles. He is very enjoyable to work with. Charles listens to what we want and need. I never had an issues asking questions or getting responses. He would do check-in's with us periodically to make sure we were all on the same page. Charles let us lead the direction our photos went with our wedding while still being helpful. His assistant is also amazing. She worked with my husband and his groomsmen before the ceremony and they could not stop talking about how much fun they had. Myself and my bridesmaids adored him. It was hard not to smile and enjoy taking pictures while he was around. He captured our wedding perfectly and I would not have it any other way. If you want amazing wedding photos and someone who is easy and flexible to work with, Charles is the way to go!

Charles is hands down one of the best! When we first connected I immediately knew that he would the perfect photographer for our wedding—he instantly makes you feel so comfortable, and feel like you’ve known him for forever. Our engagement pictures were absolutely beautiful, and immediately knew that our wedding pictures were going to be even more amazing. During the time leading up to our wedding, we were in communication with Charles, and he made sure he understood our vision, and how to make it come to life. Not to mention, he had amazing suggestions on unique shots to take! On the day of the wedding, Charles was an absolute rockstar (9 1/2 hour day) he made everyone feel instantly comfortable, and had everyone laughing, and having a great time! So comfortable to work with!
Charles was so great to work with. My wedding planner had recommended him and from first contact I knew he would be great for our big day. He met with us about a week before the wedding also just to talk about what our timeline looked like and if there were any shots we specifically wanted, was so helpful! Our family was so comfortable around him and are still talking about how great Charles was! Final photos were also presented in a super quick turn around time. Charles was fantastic! We required a photographer for an 11 hour day, which is exhausting but he freaking crushed it. He was positive the whole day, he took tons of photos, he thought of all the detail shots. He was able to organize the wedding party quickly and in beautiful spots all over Charleston. He got us our pictures back within three weeks and shared pictures sneak peaks he very next day after the wedding. The photos were beautiful and we got soooo many! One of my favorite things was that Charles took tons of pictures of our guests! I loved seeing all of them having the best time!

Wedding Day Captured Beautifully!
Charles was very easy to work with. He stayed in contact with me prior to the wedding and scheduled a chat so we could discuss photos I was looking for him to capture on the wedding day. On the day of the wedding, Charles arrived early, and we were able to do pour first look and wedding party photographs prior to the wedding, with plenty of time left over for me (the bride) to relax before the wedding. He was friendly and fun, making the time spent taking pictures an enjoyable part of the wedding day. During the ceremony and reception, he was everywhere capturing moments. Charles stayed in contact with me after the wedding to keep me updated on when he’d work on the pictures and get them back to me. The photographs from the wedding were shared with me three weeks after the wedding—definitely a quick turnaround during a Charleston wedding season. AND-the photographs are beautiful. Charles captured the love and the fun of our wedding. I’m so thankful he was our photographer.

Charles was so great to work with as our wedding photographer. Not only did the pictures turn out great, but Charles and his assistant Ed, captured the day so well. From getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception. I have so many compliments from friends and family on our pictures!
Charles went above and beyond. He took the time to meet with us several times before the wedding and even went to our rehearsal at the church the night before the wedding to make sure he could capture the best shots for ceremony! He did this all on his own – we didn’t even ask! Charles was able to get all the group and individual shots, without making it “exhausting” for the bridal party. He and his assistant were quick and efficient.
I can’t say enough great things about Charles, from the quality of his work, attention to detail, and being a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him!

Charles was excellent to work with and was just the right personality to follow a nervous bride around preparing for her entrance to the ceremony. Charles you were great! I love the photos, thank you so much! Appreciated his patience and flexibility. Meant so much to us that he worked with our out of the ordinary times and our seven children - took some major people skills! He fit right in and always in all the right places at the right moment. If you want the best photographer, hire Charles. Seriously y'all, he is just an amazing professional. He captured our wedding brilliantly and I adore just looking through my photos over and over again. He was in constant contact with me and discussed my needs and wants to ensure my day was going to be perfect and it was! He is so open minded to trying new things and it felt more like he was our guest rather than our photographer with his caring and humorous personality, he blended right in with our family and friends without missing a single moment of our wedding. We cannot thank him enough or show the appropriate amount of gratitude for the amazing quality work he provided for us and because of him, we will forever get to relive one of the best days of our lives.

Huge talent and a delight to work with!
Chuck was everything I was looking for in a photographer--great talent with an artistic eye, and a fun, comforting personality that makes you feel at ease. His assistant was more than on the ball--I maintain she is a saint for trying to organize our group/requested photos! Amazing photo shoot!!
Our photo shoot at Hampton Park was an absolute pleasure. We are very impressed with how all the pictures turned out. His passion and professionalism is easy to see in the result.

BEST experience ever!
Charles was the photographer at my sister's wedding and once my husband and I set our wedding date we knew we had to contact him to photograph our special day. Charles was such a pleasure to work with and so professional. We are soooo happy with the photos and had such a great time with him the whole day! We even had the chance to have a shoot with our dogs a few days later. LOVED everything about our experience...will definitely hire him again!

Charles is easy to work with and genuinely enjoys what he does and working with clients. His responses were always prompt and helpful. He's done multiple different photoshoots for us and is always great to work with, for people who have no idea how to be photogenic he's always made us look great!! Charles is a fantastic photographer! He is much more than that though; he truly takes the time to get to know those he photographs and takes amazing photos. He is able to take charge and direct in times of need, he is adaptable and funny and is an all around good guy! We just received our gallery Charlea prepared for us!!! JUST INCREDIBLE!!!! Charles was unbelievable with the entire family. His professionalism is unmatched and is so willing to please everyone. Very easy to work with and is a perfectionist, with whatever your occasion may be. All of the pictures he took captured the love we have for our family. When we got engaged we already knew we wanted Charles as our photographer because his photography style is truly one of a kind. Working with Charles was one of the best parts of our wedding. He went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly on our big day. So many of our guests were impressed with how hardworking, professional, & fun Charles is. And how he worked with the kids to get these amazing shots. We just got our photos last night and were flooded with emotions as every photo was phenomenal. Absolutely amazing!
Words can't express how awesome Charles Merry is to work with! We initially chose Charles, because his photography really stood out. He seemed to really capture so many perfect moments! First, he met us on one of the most humid day of the year to pull off an amazing engagement photoshoot! He made us feel very comfortable, and we knew that we had made the right choice for our wedding photographer. The day of the wedding, Charles (and his assistant!) worked unbelievably hard. We have thousands of pictures, so many of which are are so perfect. It was hard to pick which we should get framed! He worked against the sun setting to get in as many pictures as we could outdoors. Then, this man DID NOT stop running around until the very last moment the wedding ended! (Guests NOTED how hard he worked!) His turnaround time was quick, and months later, we are still in awe of how amazing the pictures came out. We wholeheartedly recommend Charles Merry for photographing the moments that you want to treasure forever!

Absolutely Amazing Photos & Amazing Person!
Charles was fabulous during our wedding! I contacted him 6 months before the wedding when our photographer told us he and his wife would be unable to shoot our wedding. I was in a small panic.
We got married in Greenville, SC in December and I saw someone tag Charles in a post on Facebook. I immediately reached out and he called me on a weekend day and listened to me explain our situation. He was so accommodating and kind, we booked him that day!
The weeks before our wedding he texted and talked to me multiple times to check in and make sure things were all set for the day of. The day of the wedding, it was raining and we were due to have a terrible snow storm. I was so disappointed, but Charles did everything he could to make sure we got gorgeous photos. He got along well with all of our family members, and I would consider him a friend now! Our guests and family cannot stop gushing about how beautiful our photos are!!
I will never book anyone else for event/family photos. Charles is HANDS DOWN the best I have ever worked with!

Incredible guy, amazing photographer!
From our very first meeting with Charles, we were so impressed and incredibly excited to have him as our photographer for our big day. The rapport we developed from the very beginning really set the tone for the rest of our experience with him.
The wedding pictures Charles took are pictures we will cherish forever. He made us (and our wedding party) feel comfortable, made sure everything important to us was documented well (and creatively!) and gave us “sneak peeks” before the entire album was ready. All things that really make a HUGE difference.
We ended up having Charles take out 1 year anniversary pictures as well and those pictures, (surprise surprise) were also amazing and captured us perfectly as a couple.
The only complaint I have is that my husband and I have since moved away from Charleston and are no longer able to have Charles take our family pictures. I do know that if we ever go back to visit, I can guarantee having a session with Charles will be on our vacation “to do” list.

A wedding photographer is an absolute MUST in order to capture your special day! And finding one can be a headache! I actually contacted Charles Merry almost two years prior to my wedding when we thought we were going to get married in Charleston. It took a while to pick the best photographers in that location and Charles was in my top three. I contacted all three photographers and his price and flexibility was top notch compared to the others. We then decided to look elsewhere for a different destination for our wedding, but when we circled back almost a year later and decided to have it in Charleston, Charles had mastered his craft even more! I was blown away by his photographs and was even more excited to hire him to capture our perfect wedding day!! He and his wife made our wedding day truly memorable and I can't thank them enough for our wedding portfolio that will forever be a part of our lives!!

On top of it all, Charles is super fun, and all of our family and guests loved Charles, too! We’re so glad that we picked him to memorialize our special day. We couldn’t have asked to a better photographer. He really managed to capture the very essence and atmosphere of the day, as well as all the emotions and happiness! We will treasure these photos for years to come.

Chuck was amazing! As soon as I got engaged, he was the very first thing on my list that I booked! He is very responsive to emails, texts, or calls.. and he is so much fun to work with! Charles was an awesome photographer. He captured every important moment for the engagement shoot to the bridal shoot and then every moment on the day of the wedding. He was there from the moment all the girls started getting ready until the moment the bride and groom let. I would highly recommend him. He is reasonably priced and well worth every penny.

Chuck is an amazing photographer. He was very flexible with my time and very responsive! He listened to what I wanted and delivered. Chuck captured the most precious memories without interrupting, it was like he was almost stealth. I was thankful that he gave me ques on posing and placement, while taking some shots. My pictures are all incredible!

Charles is just incredible. Wildly talented and SO much fun to work with. Leading up to the wedding day, Charles was always available to connect and listen and provide suggestions/recommendations. He took so much stress away and made every single aspect of our wedding planning and our experience on the day of a dream come true. I can't even begin to say how amazing Charles is! We planned a small intimate wedding in less than a week and were so scared we would not find a photographer...not only was Charles able to do it but the pictures were better than I could have ever dreamed of! We love Charles! He did our engagement and wedding at Wingate Planation. He has a eye for photography that most don't. He is so creative and great with people. 'Chuck' was fantastic! He was responsive, flexibile, and gives great wedding advice! His shots are creative and always come out amazing-always! He took a pic of my husband's cufflinks that was so awesome I had to ask him where he took it...like, I dont have anything in here that could make that happen...do I? Turns out I did, with his eye of course. LOL! He and his team did a wonderful job getting pics of everyone at the reception also, not just my husband and I, which is awesome for reminiscing! Charles is the best photographer I could have wished for! He's prompt, honest and can work around your budget to create the perfect package for you. I didn't have to worry about him being on time. In fact, he called me on the morning of the wedding to tell me he'd be a little early to the venue, and he was there before me! After the wedding he was quick to post a couple of teaser pictures so we didn't have to wait forever to see any. And when we got all of them I was not disappointed. He is amazing!

I don't even know where to even begin! Charles Merry is amazing! He is one of the most creative people i have even met in my life! The passion he has for his work is remarkable! The way that he see things is like no other! We did the full photography package and that included our engagement, a bridal shoot, and the full wedding! Along with some add-ins! We have just received our pictures and love love love all of them! The way that Charles captured our day was just amazing and we were able to relive our Special Day again through our pictures! Charles has been our photographer from day one. From dating sessions, to my husbands surprise proposal, engagement shots, and most recently our wedding! His personality can light up a room and he makes everything so much fun when he is taking pictures. I have fallen in love with every shot he has taken and his creativity is amazing! When I booked Charles Merry for my engagement pictures. I knew I needed him for my wedding. From the minute you meet him he makes you feel so comfortable, and will capture the right moments in every photo he takes. Charles will be my photographer for all big life events. I can't even begin to describe the great experience I had working with Charles Merry. Charles was highly recommended to me by a friend, and he exceeded all of my expectations. When I first became engaged, I knew I wanted a great photographer who would be able to capture amazing engagement and wedding photos. Charles called me directly and we had a few conversations to go over exactly what I was looking for. Charles was also professional and a complete gentlemen. He is extremely creative & artistic and was willing to listen to my ideas to create beautiful engagement images. It is clear that he loves his craft and wants his customers to love the final product. He goes above and beyond to get perfect images. During my wedding, I had a vision of some the images I wanted to capture, and he listened to my input and the results were incredible.
