    Perfect Venue for a Nashville Reception!

    My sister just had her reception there 2 weeks ago, and the venue and staff were incredible! For the venue, the layout is perfect for a live band because the alcove is spacious enough to fit as big a band as you want, all while leaving plenty of space for guests in the main area. The room in the back separates from the main room so well that it allows guests to have comfortable conversations during the live music. Finally, the staff was incredible! Specifically, Nate with security MADE IT HAPPEN for us! My family did all of the flowers, and Nate helped us park all our cars and transport everything we had all throughout the day! He wasn't just doing his job, he was going above and beyond to make sure our special day happened! Nate was incredible! I would 100% recommend this venue to anyone!

    The venue of our dreams.

    This venue is a work of art. The amount of detail in every part of the building is astounding. It retains the feel of the old church and yet has beautiful modern touches. I loved working with Dan and Brenda and all of Clementine’s staff; they know how a wedding should be run and are there to help. They have amazing vendors on their list that have worked with them for many weddings and know what they are doing. The venue made our wedding memorable and fun for all the guests. Thank you!

    Perfect Wedding Day

    We loved getting married at the Clementine. It was the perfect day, and we wouldn't have changed anything. The Clementine was the perfect venue and our guests were amazed. The staff at Clementine was great to work with and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend this venue!

    Stunning Venue

    Clementine is a stunning venue that is newer to Nashville. The staff is very professional and easy to work with. They definitely hold themselves to a high standard, and it shows. The details of Clementine between the wallpaper to the restoration of the organ make for a space that can work well for a corporate event as well as a wedding. I had my wedding here and I could not have asked for a better experience on the most important day of my life this far!

    Stunning Venue!

    Clementine made for the most beautiful backdrop for our 4/27/19 wedding. Brenda and Dan were prompt to respond throughout the entire process, from our first tour when the venue was still a construction site and up until our final planning meeting. Their flexible vendor policy allowed us to curate our event based on our priorities and budget and made for the perfect day!

    Experts in the Field! Beautiful Space!

    Brenda and Dan were incredibly easy to work with and talked through any questions we had. They provided recommendations for vendors and were very clear on the expectations of the venue use. The space itself is so well done and we enjoyed every minute we spent there. Would absolutely recommend!!

    We were married at The Clementine in August 2018, one of their first weddings, and it was absolutely STUNNING. Just beautiful! I think every single one of our guests (who traveled near and far) made a comment about the uniqueness of the space and how amazing it truly is. As one of their first couples, it was definitely fun to follow the progress of the construction both through in-person visits and through The Clementines active Instagram page (which you will most certainly be featured on if you book here — which is a fun added bonus!). You can tell that Brenda and Dan were very detail-oriented in all the changes/upgrades they made to revitalize the old Methodist church and we had great support in HK, our day-of venue coordinator. The flexibility of being able to bring in your own vendors means that you can create whatever aesthetic you would like to complement the “cool” vibe but it does mean that the bills at the end of the night will add up since The Clementine really only makes black chairs available and opportunity for piped-in music (which we took advantage of for cocktail hour) so keep that in mind as you book your venue space….everything else is brought in by you. We can’t imagine having been married anywhere else in the world, it was absolutely perfect and every corner provides for beautiful photos!

    Best staff in history...... Ever

    I am writing this review as a day of coordinator for a recent wedding at this stunning venue. While the building is simply breathtaking and so thoughtfully restored.... i have to really brag on the most beautiful thing about this venue....THE STAFF!!!!! They were simply treasures to work with. They kept me very calm and focused in what was a very crazy day. They had my back and I honestly haven't worked with a more professional, caring , and willing to get in there and help staff. When the catering staff and wedding party didn't have the staff they had promised for set up the venue staff jumped right in and helped... even though they did not have to do that at all. So thank you to the amazing .. MAGGIE, ANTRIO, HANNAH and ALLISON, AMANDA you all are jewels in this business. I hope to get to work with you again on a less stressful event!! I recommend this venue and THIS TEAM to anyone !!

    Best day of our lives at The Clementine

    From the moment we walked into the venue, we knew that Clementine Hall was where we wanted to get married. It is the perfect combination of old and new -- from the original wood floors and brick walls in the main hall to the contemporary wall paper and marble in the bar and lounges. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the space was. We had the absolute best day of our lives at The Clementine and have the beautiful space and its team to thank!

    Beautiful Venue

    As soon as we stepped foot in The Clementine, it was clear that we had found our venue for our ceremony and reception. Brenda and Dan put so much heart into restoring this beautiful building and it shines through! They were super accommodating to open up the venue to show my parents and vendors during my major wedding planning phase. They do have a list of vendors they recommend, which I found helpful since they are the professionals in this business! They have a largely open vendor policy, but simply require that all vendors used sign a contract with them. Overall, they were easy to work with, and I feel all of their expectations were known up front so no surprises arose. They have meetings they plan throughout the process to make sure everyone is all on the same page. We especially were attracted to this venue for it's BYOB policy, which made us feel we could have more control over our alcohol budget. We loved having our dream wedding at the Clementine for our ceremony and reception.

    Wedding Venue

    The venue was perfect for our winter wedding. It was versatile in allowing us to do both ceremony and reception in the same space. The alters are amazing - one with the beautiful organ was where we had our traditional ceremony and the side stage was used for the band. The lounge was perfect for the cocktail hour and fit everyone in nicely prior to the reception. There was a lot of versatility with the space and they did an amazing job with the renovation, we love the style.

    So beautiful!

    Clementine was the perfect wedding venue for us! Right downtown, stunning aesthetic, and the perfect layout for a great event flow. Every corner is amazing for photos, so everything turned out so beautifully (and with very little décor from us!). We were concerned about working from a required vendor list at first, but they offered a great range of vendors to choose from, and it actually turned out to be really helpful to have a structured place to start. All our vendors from their list were awesome and had worked in the space many times before, which was amazing.

    It’s on the pricier side, but if it’s in your budget, it made for a beautiful, unique, and elegant event. Our only challenge was that rentals are not included and there’s no dedicated rep to help with layout / logistics conversations in advance, so that was a bit more of a struggle than it probably needed to be. But all worked out fine in the end!

    Would do it over again in a heartbeat!

    Clementine was such a wonderful venue for our wedding--beautiful, the perfect mix of modern and rustic. We used clementine for everything--wedding, cocktail hour, and reception with dinner and dance. There are some restrictions related to vendors, but their vendor list was excellent and I liked being given a bit of direction on choosing vendors that had already proven their worthiness. The day was absolutely perfect and could not have asked for a better place to hold our special day. Brenda, Dan, and the whole support staff were very helpful and responsive to our questions and concerns. We also had a FANTASTIC wedding coordinator (Callie--Gather and Heart) that took care of everything behind the scenes so we could just enjoy our day!

    GORGEOUS space and passionate owners

    Gorgeous venue. There really isn't anything else like it in Nashville. We did a flip and used the main hall (with the organ) for ceremony and reception, and used the back hall for cocktail hour. The flow between the two rooms was PERFECT and guests had a great time! We loved that it was BYOB. The only drawback that I felt the venue had were the restrictions on load in time - we arrived at noon which made for a little bit more of a stressful day, mostly for my mother and planner. Our ceremony started at 5 and it was a lot to load everything in before then. Load out was also a bit stressful because it's not a venue where you can gather things the next day. Overall though, I wouldn't change a thing - it was the most perfect day and the venue was perfect. Dan and his wife are very passionate about their business and it really shows.

    Want to impress your guests with bird wallpaper?

    Clementine is a beautiful, special venue! Our guests loved it and I'm sure our pictures will turn out amazing. The team is very professional and knowledgeable. You can tell Dan and Brenda love the venue and love what they do. One downside is that if you have a Sunday wedding you can't get into the venue until 2pm, which wasn't ideal. We also didn't love that we had to pay extra for little things (like renting chairs, paying extra to use their projector, being required to rent a dance floor and pad)-- but they are very upfront about all of those things, and for us it was still worth it to have our dream venue. The details, like the marble herringbone floors and cool wallpaper (even the women's bathroom is dreamy!), made it stand out from every other venue we looked at, and I'm glad we booked it!     The venue is absolutely beautiful. It's not cheap, but it's an amazing space. Brenda really thought of every detail. We used it for wedding, cocktail hour, and reception. It gives a great mix of vibes from the church lines in the main room to the speak-easy vibes in the back room and the open air courtyard. We also used the park across the street for pictures, so we had some outdoor space. It was perfect! I've been a part of venues that have been more flexible- they're definitely easy to work with, just stricter about certain things. It's fair, they're taking care of their space, just be sure to go through the contract with them to make sure you understand all requirements.

    Beautiful Wedding Space

    Clementine is a gorgeous event space! It has the church vibe with an rich, industrial feel. We actually signed our contract right after they began construction, so we had a lot of faith in them and they definitely delivered. We had our ceremony and reception there with a guest list of 160 and it was very spacious. Every detail was thought of in the space. We had endless compliments from guests on how unique and beautiful the space is. There is an awesome groom's suite down in the basement that the guys loved. The bridal suite is spacious, has ample seating, great lighting for makeup/hair, a mini fridge to store snacks and drinks etc. Our caterer loved the commercial kitchen set up. Clementine has an "open" vendor policy, but it's not as open as they advertise it to be. They have a lot of restrictions on who you can/can't use and the owners are NOT flexible in this department. They can be pushy on who they want you to use, based on obvious relationships with certain vendors. I've also heard from a friend who is getting married there in 2019 that they have changed a lot of the rules in the contract and that they are a little over the top. These friends picked a caterer who met all the requirements and had paid the deposit. This caterer was not on their "do not use list" but the owners told them they couldn't use them and never gave reasons why. They are also strict on timely payments and will charge for every little thing, so you have to read the fine print carefully. The owners are also very pushy to new vendors about getting insurance documents, even for my hair and makeup artists. Make sure that your coordinator is good with time management because they are sticklers about timing with the room flip, getting everything out at the end of the night and vendors arriving early and they are NOT flexible. The managers that work the day of were fabulous! They were very helpful and made sure that you had everything that you needed, but they also were not all up in your grill. The only complaint that I had was that they hadn't quite figured out the lighting system and when the dancing started at the reception, they couldn't figure out how to dim the lights, which kept people from dancing. They eventually figured it out, but the lighting was still pretty bright. The mood lighting is great and creates an beautiful setting, but make sure your photographer is good, because some of the pics that people took with their phones were terrible because the lighting was different. The bar area is great, has ice wells and was very roomy during cocktail hour. We set up our buffet in that space as well as the photo booth and we had a lounge area by the fireplace. I loved the walls around the courtyard area because it gave us privacy when taking pics and you weren't being stared at by passing cars. We didn't use a valet service because most of our guests used Uber, but they do have free parking at the park across the street. However, there is not a crosswalk to safely allow pedestrians to cross and it can be dangerous, plus people who parked at the park can not leave their cars overnight.
    Overall, Clementine is a gorgeous space and everything I dreamed of for my wedding day. It is pricey just to rent the space, especially when considering you have to hire all the vendors on top of that. The owners can be difficult to work with about certain things so keep that in mind. The day of managers were great and made for a flawless event and I can't say enough how beautiful and unique the space is!

    Love the venue/ hated the rules

    I loved the venue but they had a lot of rules and requirements for the vendors that made it very hard to work with. Also, the time frame given when you rent the space it’s practical for getting ready (bride) and setting up the venue for how much you pay for it.

    Bride and Groom Beeare

    How does this sound?

    Bride and Grooms beware!

    I’m only giving this two stars because the venue itself is gorgeous! However the owners down the stretch proved to be a huge pain in the ass! I mean why not they already have your money.

    We followed every rule in their contract. A week before the wedding they told my DJ company that my DJ could only use their house speakers and couldn’t bring their own. Thankfully their speakers are awesome but they told our DJ company when they tried to discuss it that “look you will use our speakers or we will call he bride and groom and tell them they no longer have a DJ.”

    Let me go back in time a little when we were selecting our vendors after choosing the Clementine and just tell you many vendors around Nashville will not book at the Clementine or their sister property because the owners are very difficult to work with so be cautious there as well.

    Another incident that upset us off is we had vendors set to arrive at 9:30am to start setting up but they told us the week of that they would not unlock the doors until 10am unless we paid an additional $500. Thankfully again our vendors were flexible but are you kidding me?

    And lastly we had an amazing planner since Nashville was a destination wedding for us and guess who these people kept contacting? If you guessed our planner you would be wrong. It’s not like we aren’t stressed enough but they kept blowing our phones and emails up about all the stuff they took issue with. This is despite our planner asking them nicely to stop bothering us and only contact her. Nope they kept contacting us about it all.

    So again you might tour this place and get the same goosebumps my wife and I got and said this is it but it’s more than physical beauty that makes a wedding venue beautiful. Take heed to this review and remember you still have to deal with the people who don’t care about you because they e collected their non refundable money.

    Lastly if you go tour the place take a look around the property outside the walls. Parking is a nightmare for your guests so if you decide to book anyway tell your guests to Uber to the wedding

    Steve, We are glad that you think so highly of the space. That is a good start. You're correct in that we do not allow DJs to use their own speakers as they are not as good as our concert quality speakers, take a long time to setup and take down and generally do not look good in couples' photos. Couples tend to appreciate this attention to detail and we're not sure why this upset you.

    We can assure you that good vendors in Nashville love to work at Clementine Hall. There may be vendors who we do not allow to service events as they may not rise to our standards and we do not want any weddings to be ruined by a substandard vendor. We do not always allow the lowest cost vendor into our spaces. Our knowledge of local vendors is again usually considered an advantage by our couples.

    Like any business, we have opening and closing times and an early opening has costs, employee and otherwise.

    When we do not receive a response as to the event details (vendors selected, timeline, floorplan) before the wedding, we continue to ask for this information. Couples know this information well in advance and provide it easily. This was a wedding where everything was left to the last minute which causes anxiety for all involved.

    As for parking, we have all of the free parking most events require, so this seems to be an erroneous comment.

    Reeve Wedding

    They are not an open vendor venue. They made us cancel our caterer because they didn't get along with them. The vibe we got was that this was their event and not OUR wedding. They sent countless emails about paying them after deposit had already been paid. So tacky! The only good thing I can say is that the venue is beautiful but there are plenty of beautiful venues in Nashville without the headache.

    Hey Ashley,

    We're saddened and surprised to learn of your disappointment in your experience at Clementine, only several months after your wedding. We encourage all clients to reach out to us during the process with any challenges they may be facing, so we can have an opportunity to make things right.

    We strive to communicate as clearly as possible our vendor policies, which are also outlined in our contract. We have a largely open vendor policy, however, we do not let just anyone become a vendor at our venue. Vendors need to be in the business of providing the service on a regular basis. To clarify, we did not make you cancel your caterer (your selected caterer still catered your event), however, your caterer does not have liquor liability insurance and therefore cannot bartend at our facility. Companies in the business of serving alcohol need to have a liquor liability insurance policy. This protects them, you, your guests, and us. All vendors need to be professional and insured.

    We also require a 50% deposit and signed contract to hold the date. If you received emails with invoices, those are auto-sent by the system because your deposit wasn't met, or you had past due invoices. Unfortunately, we cannot hold dates and a March Saturday is a popular date, in high demand.

    We're fortunate to be surrounded by business peers of beautiful venues, most of which rise to the same professional level. A bride might find a venue that allows uninsured bartenders to serve, but is it worth the risk?

    It Just Went Bad

    Customer service is crucial! The Clementine lacks the quality of good customer service. ON our wedding day the air conditioning did not work and the entire wedding party sweated all day; there was a gushing sewage leak in the kitchen area where the wedding cake was being completed which made the cake inedible, and the downstairs dressing rooms had to be blocked off with shut doors and towels to keep the stench out; a leak in the ice storage closet that reeked of urine; and the venue staff failed to comply with the city COVID increased guest numbers until a groomsman contacted the city own his own to confirm the increase and get clearance. All of this on the wedding day. To top this all off, emails of concern and requests for partial refund have been completely ignored. Unhappy customers make for bad reviews. Very unfortunate because the venue is actually very pretty and could be a great place for the Nashville area.

    Hey Amy,
    We're so sorry you're disappointed! We went above and beyond to create a custom deposit schedule when you weren't able to raise funds to secure your contract, or pay your final balance. We also made an exception to our "no drop-off food" for catering and allowed you to serve pizza out of the box for your wedding dinner. We allowed you to use a retired family friend as your planner, as she was gifting that to you. We tried really hard to provide good customer service to you before the event.

    On the day of your daughter's it was 50 degrees so if you needed A/C, we certainly would have turned that on for you, if asked. We also have pictures of the wedding cake at your reception. The building was gutted and completely redone before our 2018 opening and we haven't had any pipes burst or leak.

    In regards to guest count and covid regulations, we were bound by the permit submitted by Metro Health. We haven't had any clients invite more guests than allowed on the permit! Fortunately, Metro Health did increase guest count on the day of your daughter's wedding, and we were able to get a new permit. (Permits are given to the venue, not to individuals such as a groomsman who calls.)

    And finally, yes, you have sent multiple emails noting that you would give bad reviews unless we gave you money back. That's just not something we are able to participate in.

    Cannon Wedding

    Where do we start!

    There is absolutely no doubt this venue is beautiful and everything I wanted for my wedding. We booked this venue under rendering when it was still being restored. We were told we could bring our own vendors into the event space and later discovered that was not fact at all. We had to choose from a list of vendors that they recommended. Which were beyond reasonable when it came to pricing.

    Their staff Maggie and Hannah were NOT easy to work with and have absolutely no communication skills with not only themselves together but with us and my coordinator. We were told we had to retain a insurance policy for liability which we did, then they made all of the vendors name them on their insurance policies. It was a complete hassle with them.

    I emailed the owners SEVERAL times about their staff being bad at communication with everything. My coordinator and I knew more about what was going on than the staff.

    The day of my wedding I had hair and make up come in. For what we paid you would think they would have it set up for hair and makeup artist to come in and set up. Not the case, the mirror was busted all the way down which they tried to conceal with a small table, the chairs had burn marks in them and I had to ask 3 times for them to come into the suite to fix the heat because it was not working properly. Also complained about hairspray on one of the chairs.

    Our parties brought sandwiches into the venue that Maggie decided it was her place to remove from the fridge that I’m pretty sure we paid to use and proceeded to put them under a leaking pipe (with rusted water coming out of it) and her response was “it’s just water. She was a total (can’t say) and you would have thought she was the bridezilla!!

    They blew my table candles out at 8:30 pm, and threatened to shut my wedding down twice and again asking my coordinator to shut it down as well! For absolutely no reason at all, so instead of me enjoying this day I had to worry about Clementines staff. I have informed the owners but I’ve been speaking to them for a year about this. Our vendors were nothing short of amazing and will agree with what I’ve written which I have emails, texts, IMs about how horrible the staff is and will not be working with them again.

    I realize this is my experience but this should have been an amazing day for myself and my now husband and it was not.

    We are truly sorry for your disappointing experience at Clementine. We really hate to hear this. As the venue, we offer building related services and sometimes guests confuse our staff with other hired vendor staff (we’re not involved with food, decor, etc.) To prevent this in the future, we are implementing changes to distinguish Clementine staff from other vendor’s staff. We wish there was something we could have done to resolve this, and we urge you to reach out to your hired planner and vendors in regards to the instances you’ve described. We do encourage clients to consider vendors from our website published approved list for this reason, as event hired vendor actions and service levels are outside of our control. We’re especially sorry your hired vendors chose to end your reception early, we’re sure that was disappointing. We wish you all the best.
