Krystal Sent on 02/27/2011We couldn't have picked a better place! We had the ceremony on Sand Key Beach and the reception here at the Sailing Center. It was very affordable and they were very flexible! They let us in early to decorate since there wasn't another event, and they allow outside catering/alcohol. The venue is pretty much a blank slate which is perfect for those diy brides. It was a great size for our 100 guests and we had a great time. There is an inside room which we used for eating and the outside deck was for dancing. I recommend renting some uplighting but everything else is awesome! The staff was super nice too. -

We were very pleased by our experience working with the Clearwater Community Sailing Center. The space was beautiful, the set-up was exactly what we asked for, and I especially appreciated Erin's flexibility with the timing for deliveries and pick-ups of the items we ordered for the space. -

Rachel B. Sent on 05/14/2012The Clearwater Sailing Center is a budget friendly venue!! Tables and chairs are included in your rental fee and the staff there sets them up according to you specifications. This was the perfect place for our casual nautical themed wedding and reception! -
User1072549 Sent on 01/19/2013We had a sunset ceremony at Sand Key Park then an evening cocktail hour with music on the outside Verandah and then dinner and dancing inside in the Carlise Room. The view over the water is beautiful. We had a weekday wedding which made the venue very affordable, however be prepared to decorate (a lot). The Carlise room itself is very plain and unremarkable without the water view that you would have during the day. Uplighting or other outside vendor lighting is a necessity as the lights are bright florescents with no ability to dim them.
The staff was great. I arrived at the venue after they had the tables and dance floor set up and wanted changes made at the last minute. They were very good about making the changes and they let the person setting up the cake in early to set up the cake. We prepared our own food for the cocktail hour and were able to bring in our own alcohol and then just hired a bartender and additional staff from the company that catered the dinner to assist which was great. I would absolutely recommend this venue. -

User1630316 Sent on 05/23/2014I had my wedding reception there and it was perfect. It was windy so we had to put the shades down but it still turned out great! It did take a few days to get emails back from them, I ended up calling them instead. -
User2077858 Sent on 03/26/2015I picked the Clearwater Community Sailing Center as my reception venue due to the fact for the value and excellent location. However this venue turned out to be a complete nightmare. Staff is not friendly and lack communication skills. This venue made planning my wedding way more difficult then it should have been. Save yourself the trouble and pay a little bit extra to go elsewhere. -

Carl Sent on 08/03/2011The people at the Clearwater Sailing Center are absolutely awful.
We booked them for our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. We were required to book 6 hours for our event at a minimum with a steep price of ~$1500. We were forced to purchase extra hours at ~$225/hr. for setup time.
Our event was scheduled from 5-11pm and tables were setup at 10am, however we were not allowed in the venue to setup table clothes and center pieces without purchasing extra hours even though there was no prior event.
Once the event started, the A/C was not functioning properly. (Florida in July). When this was brought to the attention of the Center people their attitude was that it was not their problem. Upon further inspection they realized only 1 of the 4 units were working. Still they did not think it was appropriate to fix and blamed our party for breaking it.
I was also told that I was too young to be talking to older people and expressing my displeasure with A/C not working (29 y/o male). They offered no assistance and no reparation for their facility not working along with an attitude of it's not their responsibility.
