Fantastic experience and worth the investment! Andrew is super talented!
We wanted something special for our ceremony and cocktail hour music. Andrew was masterful on classical guitar and his playing was a highlight for the day. Having live music truly sets the tone, do not skimp out and just play music through some speakers if you can help it. Live instruments just added a warmth and depth of sound that made our special day that much more vibrant. Scheduling and working with Chris was super easy. When we were stuck on selecting processional and recessional songs, Andrew had some wonderful suggestions. We wanted something classical rather than contemporary, but also wanted to avoid some pieces we thought were too cliche. Andrew had some wonderful suggestions for compositions that are less common but just as beautiful as the ones we’ve heard at a dozen other weddings. After the ceremony, Andrew continued to fill the air with a mix of classical and classically styled versions of contemporary songs. Almost everyone complimented the guitar music. We would recommend Andrew and Classical Guitar Ceremonies to anyone who wants their special day to sound as beautiful as everything else looks.

We hired Troy (solo guitarist) to play our ceremony including prelude music. He was on-time, professional, and was open to learning two songs from Final Fantasy that we wanted to walk down the aisle to. Friendly gentleman, too! I felt like his being there really elevated the vibe. 10/10 would recommend again. Also, Chris D. was super responsive and I appreciated it greatly!

Andrew played our prelude, ceremony, and cocktail hour music and he was absolutely wonderful! The renaissance piece he played for our processional provided the most beautiful atmosphere and I felt like I was in a movie. A Beautifully Simple Guitar for our Wedding!
Chris Dunn (Manager) and Troy King (Musician) were a pleasure to work with! Chris Dunn was easy to communicate with, professional, timely, and gave us everything we needed to make the easy decision of going with Troy King as our ceremony musician. As for Troy, we loved his arrangement of wedding-appropriate pop music before the ceremony began, as well as how he played our processional and recessional songs. excellent service from initial inquiry to performance
We decided on music for a reception about a week in advance, but they were still able to help us! We hired Troy for classical guitar for a special celebration/cocktail reception. He was excellent! He offers a wide repertoire of classical and popular songs, it really added to the atmosphere. Guests were still able to converse while beautiful music filled the background. Very personable as well. definitely recommend.

A beautiful enhancement to our special day
Classical Guitar Ceremonies made our small, intimate wedding a beautiful experience. Perfect ceremony, reception, and first dance guitar music + easy communication + large repertoire
My wedding planner Sara Bauleke at Bella Notte recommended Chris Dunn (the owner of Classical Guitar Ceremonies), who helped us choose our guitarist, Andrew McEvoy, for our small garden wedding at Iron Gate in April 2022. We wanted a mix of classical music (prelude) with some religious options to bring in my family (Episcopalian) tradition — we asked for a specific Episcopal hymn for the bride's entrance procession — and then a shift to more modern but still classic romantic tunes for the recessional — This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) — and first dance (Can't Help Falling In Love). Chris helped us with selections and was so easy to communicate with and friendly. You can also tell that Chris and everyone on his team, Andrew included, is VERY experienced with weddings in the DMV. Everything is perfectly smooth and on time/early; they communicate proactively with your wedding planner and know to ask your planner and venue point of contact various questions about the outlet/plug-in situation, acoustics, volume level etc.
The evening of our wedding, Andrew did an outstanding job — so romantic, moving, intimate, melodic on all the classical pieces and then added a lot of richness and warmth by adding vocals (his offer; we took him up on it!) for our recessional and first dance. His cocktail hour repertoire was absolutely perfect. Lots of familiar wedding tunes that we knew from the 60s - today. Just the right volume. The type of music where you are nodding your head, humming along, smiling... looking over and saying, "wow, the guitarist is REALLY good!" (Our photographer and other vendors also commented on it, not just guests!) But you aren't distracted by the volume and you can keep talking to the other guests. If you are looking for beautiful ceremony or reception music, there is no one better!

We organized a small outdoor wedding with just a few weeks of planning. Chris and Andrew's responsiveness and ability to just "run with it" based on a few parameters was very helpful. We were appreciative of their suggested set lists, which allowed us to draw on some old favorites and discover new (to us) gems. Andrew played beautifully and went above and beyond to accommodate a traditional Dominican wedding song and a first dance song we wove into the ceremony since we weren't having a reception. His playing really tied the ceremony together and we were very grateful for his presence.

We had an unfortunate experience where our original guitarist we hired for our wedding was unable to perform for us, and we had only a short period of time to find someone new. Thankfully Chris's team was available and the process couldn't have been easier or more smooth. Chris handled every logistical detail; was super knowledgeable, responsive, and friendly and just made everything so easy for us! They were able to accommodate our special song requests with no problem. Troy was the guitarist we worked with on the day of the wedding, and he was fantastic as well. For my entire wedding day experience, Chris was extremely attentive and accurate to the plan and details I requested (music playlist and their times, microphone setup location, wireless microphones to certain speakers, coordination with wedding planner) I greatly appreciated his professionalism and knowledge about acoustics and setup for outdoor and indoor venue locations.
As for the classical guitar; I, unfortunately, missed hearing this piece since I had to go to a different location of the venue separate from the cocktail hour area. But, my guests comment that it was beautiful and fitting for a great time. Overall, I am very happy to have found Chris's service and if I would do my special day all over again (how I wish!); I would have no qualms about contacting Chris again!

I used to work with Chris when I managed an event venue and he was always professional and provided exceptional service - and performances - for our events, so I knew I had to work with him for my own wedding in Virginia. Chris was informative and helpful throughout the entire planning process: he sent traditional music selections to choose from in advance, but was also receptive to other suggestions that would help set the tone for our wedding day. We used Andrew as the classical guitarist for our ceremony. He happened to be local, but there was no travel surcharge. When I emailed the company, they were extremely prompt, even though it was a late night and last minute request (1 month). Classical Guitar was also the most professional in terms of presentation, explanation, communication, and everything else.
I had a very specific line up of songs that I wanted for our ceremony, to include classical songs, traditional hymns, and contemporary popular songs. Andrew gave us several pricing options, and he was able to create exactly what I wanted, without knowing the correct musical term. He also included in our package a thirty-minute prelude, and he allowed my brothers (not professional guitarists by any stretch) to play a song during the ceremony as well. Andrew also offered his services as a sound technician, which we would have used if the venue had required it.
Andrew arrived over an hour early, set up, and did a wonderful job during the ceremony. The wedding planner made some last-minute adjustments that were not communicated to Andrew, but he was able to roll with it and give us exactly what we wanted.
Ideally you only get married once, but I would absolutely hire again.

My wife and I hired Chris to play a selection of music on his classical guitar for our wedding ceremony. Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with. From our initial meeting through the followup discussions leading to the event date to the amazing job he did during the throughout the actual day of, everything was perfect. What I most enjoyed about working with Chris is that he truly cares about what we wanted and didn't push any set agenda on us.
The music selections for the ceremony added such an elegant touch to the event that can't be replicated with recorded music. Guests were complimenting us on how this added to their experience. The songs played throughout the cocktail hour also increased the energy of the crowd. The audio equipment Chris used to amplify the music and microphones for the officiant/readers worked flawlessly.
We're so happy that we chose to hire Chris for our wedding. I would highly recommend him as a wedding guitarist to anyone.

Working with Classical Guitar Ceremonies, Inc. for my daughter’s wedding was a great experience. Always immediately responsive, Chris Dunn, the company’s owner and president, was easy to work with and was open to my suggestions for music. The actual guitarist for the wedding was Mark Edwards who played beautifully for the ceremony as well as for the cocktail hour following. Mark arranged a modern piano version of the Bridal March for guitar and threw in a little improvisation as well in the pre-ceremony music. The only snafu was that we had chosen more selections for the ceremony than time allowed, so not all favorites were played and the mothers came in to a pre-ceremony selection. Nonetheless, the music was beautiful and I highly recommend Mark and the company.

Mark played the music for our wedding ceremony, and he was great. Chris and Mark were easy to work with, and Chris even acquired and filled out a new piece of music for our ceremony. My husband and I picked epic movie themes for our processional and recessional, and several of our guests commented on how awesome it was to recognize the tunes. Great work. My only nit is that it would have been nice to have been in contact with Mark directly before the wedding, rather than having to arrange everything with Chris. Mark did a great job, but I don't think I spoke to him at all. I feel a little badly about that.

From our first correspondences to our wedding day, Chris was always very professional, friendly, and responsive to all our questions. We had requested a contemporary rock song to be played during the ceremony, and we were completely blown away by how beautiful his classical guitar arrangement was - it was more lovely than we even imagined. We also really appreciated how Chris accommodated for a last-minute request on the day of the wedding. I met Chris Dunn through a work event, and instantly fell in love with his style of guitar. I recommended him to a client and they were also thrilled with his work. When it came time to chose the music for my own wedding, I was so happy to hear that Chris was available to play not only at our wedding ceremony but also at the cocktail reception.
Chris was great at giving guidance to songs that might work for the feel of our wedding, however he was of course open to suggestions and even learned a version of Edelweiss at my request (a song that brought sentimental meaning to my family). The results were nothing short of perfect, and I will never forget that short walk down the aisle!
Beyond being incredibly talented, Chris' pricing is more than fair and he is definitely a vendor you can put your trust in. He is quick to reply to emails and worked with both the church and reception venue coordinators to make sure everything was set just right - I didn't have to think twice about anything.

Chris Dunn is a BEAST! Words cannot describe how awesome he is. You just have to hear it yourself. Everyone at our wedding complimented on how awesome Chris was during the ceremony. He was easy to work with, flexible and very very professional and he was every bit of awesome in real life as he is in his recordings/videos. He arrived on-site WELL before the ceremony started and double checked everything with me. Last minute, I realized I had not picked a song for one part of the ceremony. I asked Chris if he could play another song but I did not have one picked out. He went ahead and was able to play a song that he thought would be nice for that particular part of the ceremony and it was. I would definitely recommend him to anyone having a wedding. After listening to several musicians' music samples online, we decided that Classical Guitar Ceremonies would be perfect for the level and style of music that we were looking for. The groom's mom and bride's dad both had played guitar, so this connection was also important for us - and we knew that they also had to be good! Chris Dunn is the person with whom we primarily communicated. He was professional and responsive to our music suggestions and requests. He assigned one of the guitarists associated with his company to our wedding day initially, as he was previously booked at another event. We were completely fine with this, as we both agreed that this guitarist sounded great as well. However, about a week before our wedding day, Chris made a point to personally contact both the bride and the groom to chat with us (on the phone!), as the guitarist initially assigned to our wedding could no longer make it. Chris personally offered his services and asked if we were both okay with this adjustment. It was such a welcome change for someone to be so thoughtful. I wish I had been able to enjoy more of Chris's performance during the ceremony and cocktail hour, but, being the bride, I was often occupied with other things. Hopefully I'll be able to hear him play at another event in the future. I would definitely recommend Chris and Classical Guitar Wedding Ceremonies.

Andrew was such a huge part of making our wedding ceremony as amazing as it was. He was extremely helpful, provided gorgeous music and did an incredible job. He also played during our cocktail hour and was the perfect addition to our classic, elegant wedding. I would absolutely recommend him and his services to anyone! Thank you Andrew!

When something seems easy it is usually because the person doing it is an expert at their craft. Chris provided the audio backdrop that helped create the ambiance we wanted for our wedding. Unfortunately, we were out of earshot for most of the playing but our guests reported that it was simply lovely.
Chris worked with us to help us choose our entrance song which for us set the tone of the ceremony. He remained patient and upbeat, even when we had trouble describing what we wanted.
All in all, soothing, romantic music and a really nice guy as well. Couldn't be more pleased.

Chris Dunn was great to work with and provided exactly what we wanted for our ceremony music. He is a truly talented musician, and we were so lucky to have been able to work with him for our wedding.
His song options for our ceremony were extensive, and we were able to choose the perfect music. Chris was also sensitive and understanding about the church limitations about music during the ceremony and was easy to work with.
Chris was easy to contact and delivered flawless music during our ceremony. If you are looking for unique and beautiful music for your event, do not hesitate to choose Chris. He was absolutely wonderful!

Chris was absolutely amazing and everyone loooooved the ambiance and music he provided! He was amazingly flexible and even stayed a little later than his contract because my wedding was delayed because of traffic!!!

Chris was fantastic during the entire ceremony music planning process. Even though we did not meet until my wedding day, he was extremely responsive to email and provided great suggestions. Although I did not hear him play during the cocktail hour, the music that he played during the ceremony was incredibly beautiful. He is extremely talented and was able to perfectly set the tone of our wedding day.

Chris Dunn Classical Guitarist added a very nice touch of class and elegance to our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner service. He is highly skilled, flexible with musical selections, and reasonably priced. Our guests raved about his abilities and we were very happy with the level of class it added to our big day. Chris was highly responsive to our needs and worked with us to develop a musical selection for all parts of the day. I would highly recommend Chris Dunn and we felt lucky to be able to have him at our ceremony.

His music provided such a romantic atmosphere during the ceremony. I could not have asked for a better musician to play for my wedding. He was such a pleasure to work with. He was very accommodating and supportirve throughout the whole wedding planning process. I would recommend him to any bride. They will not regret it!

We were looking a little different from a traditional quartet and found Classical Guitar Ceremonies. All the reviews were spectacular but unfortunately Chris was already booked. Instead, Mark was available and we went ahead and booked him for the ceremony and cocktail hour.
Communication was great and always very responsive. Chris gave us good suggestions for music. On the day of the wedding, Mark was very punctual and brought all of the equipment he needed. Many of our guests told us afterwards that they really enjoyed the music, especially the latin theme during cocktail hour.
Mark was definitely one of our easiest vendors to work with and I highly recommend them!

Chris Dunn played at our outdoor wedding ceremony in August. He arrived early, was dressed handsomely and is a very kind, professional and talented musician. We were moved and delighted to hear him play at our ceremony. We wanted a specific song not in his repertoire for our ceremony exit, so he was able to obtain and adapt the music for our purpose. So many of the guests commented on how lovely the music was, that it was nice to hear some not-so-traditional wedding music selections, and that it was a really nice touch to have a guitarist versus some of the more traditional choices. It made for a casual, but still very elegant feel, which is exactly what Iwe wanted! I also appreciated Chris' responsiveness to my emails and working with me (the control freak) on my music selections. We couldn't have been more pleased and we will happily and highly recommend Chris to anyone.

I am so pleased that I went with Chris Dunn for my ceremony music. He was extremely easy to work with, even though we only coordinated via email and phone. The music was so beautiful and definitely enhanced my ceremony. My guests also told me they enjoyed the prelude music prior to the ceremony.

Chris is a gifted guitarist! Everyone raved about how unique and beautiful his music was at our ceremony. Working with him was so seemless--and I don't even think he let a minute pass before responding to my emails! He was very responsive and offered up suggestions to help us pick the exact selections that were right for our ceremony. When someone recommended that I look into hiring a classical guitarist for our ceremony, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was beyond pleased that I did when I found Chris. Thank you so much for making our ceremony as beautiful as it was!

Chris was not available for the day of my wedding, so his associate, Mark, provided music for my ceremony and cocktail hour. Chris, however, was the point of contact for all arrangements and transactions, and he was very easy to work with. For the ceremony music, Chris sends you a form to complete indicating the selections you want for the processional, recessional, etc. He provides suggestions, which was great, since I was unsure which music I wanted to use. I simply listened to all the suggestions and chose from there. Unfortunately, as much as I tried to listen to Mark's playing on the day of the wedding, I didn't get a chance to hear much since I was taking pictures throughout the cocktail hour. However, my guests all had nothing but good things to say about Mark. They said that his selections were excellent and that he really set the mood for the wedding. I got to speak with him a bit before he left--very nice guy. I highly recommend this company.

Chris also was extremely professional and responsive and so helpful leading up to the event and throughout. I highly recommend him for any music occasion.
