A Great DJ

DJ Carl was our wedding DJ and we couldn’t have asked for a better one! We worked with him over a few meetings to refine the vibes we wanted to bring throughout the evening. He was able to take our reception music samples and create a playlist for the night that was inviting for everyone. It was important to us that the dance floor was going all night and he really helped make that happen. We liked the fact that he wasn’t on the mic MC’ing too much throughout the night. He jumped on when he needed to only to coordinate the evening or to invite guests to the dance floor. Overall DJ Carl was a great choice for us!

Amazing wedding DJ!

We had a great experience with DJ Carl. Carl DJ’d our wedding, and was incredibly helpful throughout the process in answering all of our questions. On the wedding day, he was professional and displayed a great instinct in knowing which of our favorite songs would get people on the dancefloor. We definitely made the right decision in picking our wedding DJ – highly recommended!

Life of the party

DJ Carl brought the party! We had a great time working with Carl for our wedding! His process to prep for the big day is so easy and efficient! He incorporated songs we love throughout the whole event and when the big day came we knew we had nothing to stress about. Dancing was my favorite part of the day!

The Best DJ you can hire

Carl was so amazing throughout the entire process! He met with us to make sure he could offer exactly what we were looking for on the night, was able to provide all the sound help we needed for our ceremony, and expertly DJ'd cocktail hour, dinner, and of course the dance floor! He was extremely accommodating with all the specific requests that we had, and was always offering to help in any extra way he could. We cannot speak highly enough of the experience we had with him, and all for an extremely competitive price compared to other options. We couldn't be happier with our choice to book Carl for our wedding!

Amazing Dj!

DJ Carl was fantastic!

DJ Carl was everything my wife and I could’ve hoped for and more. Not only did we have amazing and timely music at our wedding, but throughout the entire process, DJ Carl was open, honest, and most of all helpful in bringing together our dream wedding. Because of his long experience performing at weddings, he helped guide us through what was possible, and what was normal not only in terms of music, but in emceeing the event overall. He was perfectly timely in his communications, asking for important decisions months before the date and making himself available as needed on wedding week. He also created a version of our wedding song that was perfect for our first dance. 100% recommend DJ Carl for any future event!

DJ Carl is the G.O.A.T.

If you're on the fence about hiring a DJ...this is your sign to hire DJ Carl! We saw DJ Lenny at a friend's wedding and he was awesome, which is why we reached out to Collective DJs. I'm thrilled to say that DJ Carl was equally as amazing if not even better! We had several guests come up to us and say that it was the BEST dance floor they've ever seen at a wedding. My parents and aunts and uncles said "your DJ was AWESOME!" and we LOVED all the songs he played - it couldn't have gone better if we tried! He really took our vision to the next level and built off of our "must play" songs to create such an incredible dance floor. The dance floor was packed the entire time, from young adults in their 20s, to grandparents in their 80s. He was great at reading the room and playing the songs that would keep people on their feet, all while staying in our desired genres (we requested no today's top hits/"tik tok" music). We met with him via zoom a few times and he helped ease our anxieties about the wedding day, but we could never have imagined that it would go so perfectly. Thank you DJ Carl!!

We used collective djs, specifically dj Carl! We LOVED him! Carl was great at communicating with us and hearing all of our ideas we had. While hearing our ideas he offered great ideas and suggestions to make our night perfect! Our guests were dancing the entire night and raved about our music. Would recommend to anyone!

Crazy fun dance party!

My husband and I were recommended DJ Carl by our venue and when we had our first phone call meeting with him I knew we had made the right choice- this guy knows his stuff and loves his job!!! He was very communicative and amenable- even when we threw last minute plans at him- like asking him to MC our shoe game and anniversary dance! Carl went with it and was a great MC!! When the dancing started, I don't think I ever sat down! He stuck to our playlists and the song choices he included to fill the gaps were great- everybody was on the dance floor having a great time! It was a night of dancing I will never forget. 10/10 recommend Carl- you won't regret it!

Amazing!

We LOVED having Carl as our DJ at our wedding - he was so accommodating and made the process so easy! It helps that he has such a deep love and understanding for music and could easily read our crowd to keep them on the dance floor the entire night. Our guests RAVED about the music and dancing - and none of that would have been possible without Carl at Collective DJ's. We are so thankful to have had such a talented DJ be a part of such a special day to us.

Music that's true to YOU!

We absolutely LOVED working with Carl and Collective DJs!! Carl was so kind and easy to work with. My husband and I had a dual themed wedding of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, and Carl was so accommodating when it came to adding music from those soundtracks into our ceremony for the processional and recessional. He also was able to play different soundtrack music from video games, anime, and Disney movies throughout the night as we requested which made our wedding really feel like it was OURS. We loved adding songs and creating playlists on Collective DJs' online portal! It was so easy and a fun experience to share with my husband. Carl made everything so easy and perfect for our wedding day and I'd highly recommend him!

Fantastic DJ!

DJ Carl kept our wedding smooth and entertaining. Everyone loved the playlist and he made sure the acoustics from the ceremony to the reception were perfect. So easy to work with and professional, my now husband and I were very happy with their services. The pricing was incredibly reasonable and the music library is massive. There isn’t a song that DJ Carl doesn’t already have or can’t get for you! Highly recommend these guys!

Stress-free/Non-stop dancing guaranteed

My husband and I both love to dance, but had thought that we could pull off DJ-ing ourselves. A few months before our wedding, we came to our senses and emailed DJ Carl and it just so happened he had a cancellation for our exact wedding day a few days earlier. I believe that to be divine intervention because DJ Carl, without a doubt, was one of the best decisions we have ever made (besides getting married ;-D) DJ Carl clearly loves all music and doesn't have any judgements against your music picks. He was very organized and helped us realize how music is an integral part to a wedding reception--from your opening song, to the atmosphere during dinner, to the cake cutting, to your first dance. All of these moments are a chance to insert your personal touch and style on your wedding day. DJ Carl was super professional, organized, and flexible. He has multiple ways for customers to give him their 'Do's/Don't' list. We chose to use spotify playlists, which was easy for us. We were having trouble deciding on our first dance song, since it wasn't a typical love song. But DJ Carl motivated us to go with a song that we love and we are so grateful for his encouragement to go with our gut.
On our wedding day, he arrived with ample time until the reception, so played music on his speakers for the happy hour, which was going above and beyond what he had to do. The music during the reception was light hearted and playful, which matched the emotions in the room. Once some of the tables were pulled away, the dancing commenced and didn't stop for 4 hours! It was great song after great song that kept everyone dancing long after they thought they would. DJ Carl knows how to read the room and perfectly times slow songs and fast songs. I don't think I have danced that much since my college years, but I just couldn't help myself. Til this day, our guests still say how much fun they had dancing at our wedding, which is such a compliment to DJ Carl's skills. We are so grateful for his expertise and could not have imagined our wedding without him. If you still wavering on whether or not to have a DJ, I cannot argue enough for hiring DJ Carl. He takes the stress away, so that you can focus on celebrating. DJ Carl is the best!

Carl came highly recommended by a friend and she wasn't wrong. He is professional, easy to work with, and his passion for music is palpable. Choosing a DJ requires a lot of trust, because unlike other wedding vendors, it's hard to know in advance whether the DJ will create the atmosphere and dance party you're looking for. When talking and meeting with Carl before the wedding, we knew that he genuinely cared about our music tastes and what we wanted for our wedding, and knew he was the one. And he created the best dance party! Carl got all of our guests on the dance floor and we got so many compliments from our friends and family about the music. I highly recommend Carl for your wedding--or, any event!

Guests danced all night!

We worked with Carl as our DJ for our May 2019 wedding and he was awesome! He was so helpful during the music planning process when we had no idea what we were doing, he was flexible with last-minute changes, and he made triple sure that his music plans matched our vision. He also went out of his way to check in with us during the reception and to make sure the acoustics sounded great in our marble museum venue. AND he had our guests dancing all night!! People had a ton of fun and the music flowed perfectly, thanks to Carl's DJ style & music choices. I highly recommend him!

DJ Leni was Great!

Leni was an awesome DJ! At our pre-wedding meeting, we told him we wanted to kind of have a Disney theme, and he played Disney as our pre-ceremony music in a very tasteful way. There was people dancing all night long at our wedding, and he played all of our must play songs at the perfect time! He also got us back on track with our timeline since we started our ceremony a little late. He was quick to respond to emails and nailed our music, everything was just what we wanted. Highly recommend!

Good Times Had By All

DJ Carl was hands down amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him to make our wedding the best wedding ever. He is extremely knowledgeable and has an extensive music collection. We 100% recommend them!

DJ Carl and Leni were recommended by our caterer. After reading their awesome reviews and getting to know Carl through a series of phone chats, we knew they were the ones to DJ for our wedding. They are responsive and professional yet friendly and personable at the same time. 5 weeks post wedding and our friends and family are still talking about our DJ and the music! At the last song of the night, at 11pm, at least 90 of our guests were still dancing away, then chanted "one last song" until they played one more dance song. We loved working with them, and our guests loved dancing with them, as did we. I can only recommend these guys in the highest.

We had DJ Carl from Classic Collective for our wedding on May 27, and would emphatically recommend him to anybody looking for a DJ in the Baltimore area. He worked closely with us in the run-up to the event and was very flexible about scheduling; moreover, he has set up a really excellent and thorough event information form that probably did as much to help us plan as any wedding book did. During the event, he was responsive to sudden requests and changes in plan, and did a great job keeping the tempo up throughout the evening. All of our other vendors had experience working with him and seemed quite happy (and sometimes even relieved) to hear that he would be the emcee. Long story short: get DJ Carl. He is great.

Leni K was our DJ and he was amazing!!! All of our guests were out on the dance floor. He got everyone's names right during the introductions (I work for a hotel in Baltimore and you would not believe the amount of DJs that mess this up!). We filled out a questionnaire and then met with Leni in person to review everything a couple weeks before the wedding. He nailed it! So professional and easy going. Also fulfilled some last minute song requests we sent him day of!

I can't say enough positive things about DJ Carl. He is above and beyond professional. Last minute, we ended up needed his equipment for the ceremony and without a thought he arrived to our wedding early to make sure that my Grandma who was marrying us had audio equipment. Most importantly, he is great at reading the couple and your guests. He threw a great party for us and we had exactly what we wanted - a packed dance floor from the beginning. DJ Carl is awesome!

I have worked with Classic Collective DJ's many times, and I've always been beyond happy with the results. Most recently, I hired Classic to DJ a large party at my home. Leni worked with us on this one, and he totally nailed it! He prepared ahead of time by discussing our music preferences with us, and getting a feel for the type of party it would be. We had a very eclectic mix of preferences, but he worked them all together to make a seamless soundtrack to the party. Our requests included everything from 70's/80's/90's American music, to modern and classical Punjabi tunes. Leni arrived on time, was very respectful of our property (even wiped up his foot prints from our front porch after he finished setting up) and kept the volume at just the right level. (The volume thing is a really big pet peeve of mine when it's not done right!)

I would hire Classic Collective DJ's many times over!

Carl was amazing. He did the music for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Before the wedding he sat down with me and my fiance to discuss the kind of music we wanted played and the feel we wanted for both portions of the wedding. Music is extremely important to us and Carl did a wonderful job.

He was always very responsive and always very nice. He is a wonderful DJ and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding.

Leni K with Classic Collective DJs provided the music for our wedding reception in early May. He was absolutely amazing! We spoke over Facetime last summer and my fiance and I sat down with him a few weeks before the wedding to talk about our music interests and what sorts of music we were hoping to hear at the reception. I remember being nervous beforehand that I wasn't providing enough info. Should not have stressed--Leni hit it out of the park--he kept the night rolling with fun, lively music that everyone (friends, older family members alike) loved. The dance floor was packed the *entire time* which was exactly what we had hoped to achieve. Afterwards, we received so many compliments on the music. Leni was wonderful to work with, very professional and we could tell he had a lot of experience. You cannot go wrong with this group--they absolutely know what they're doing!!

We consider ourselves very lucky to have had DJ Carl at our wedding reception. He really took the time and made the effort to get to know us -- the type of party we wanted to host and our musical tastes (and the demographic profile of our guests) -- in preparing for our event. He is a true professional and music aficionado who can read a room like a psychotherapist!!!! We had numerous compliments at the party and since the party, friends and family raving about the music and what a fun time they had. Even our musician friends tipped their hats to DJ Carl's mastery of the DJ arts. There was never a lull on the dance floor, he guided the party through the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing portions of the evening with his very sophisticated skill. We will always be indebted to him for guiding and enhancing the incredible, joyful energy at our reception. Carl was GREAT! We were planning our wedding from out of town and he set up a conference call with us to review what we needed to think about and discuss when selecting some of our favorite music we wanted to play on our wedding day. He brought all of his own equipment and set up everything up in both the cocktail reception room and the wedding reception room. There was no lag in music. He did a great job introducing everyone's name and made sure to review pronunciation with each person. A true testament to Carl's talent is that I had a daytime wedding and after everyone ate the dance floor was packed from 2pm to 5pm. He also made it a point to get approval on some of the songs that were being requested "YMCA", etc." If you hire Carl you will not be disappointed. He is a true professional and loves what he does!

Working with Leni and Carl was a highlight of our wedding planning. They understood our intended "vibe" immediately and went to work creating a playlist that was uniquely suited to our big event. If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding you should definitely use Classic Collective DJs and use Carl. He is awesome! My Husband and I normally aren't big dancers, but we danced the entire night of our wedding and so did all of our guests! It was a blast. Carl does a great of reading a crowd and playing music that everyone can't help but dance to. Since our wedding we have had so many people tell us that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to and they've never seen so many people having fun and dancing. We could not have been any happier with our choice in working with DJ Carl. Our pre-wedding meeting with him was great, and he really took the time to understand what we wanted and what we liked (and didn't like!). My husband is Greek, and he included several songs that my husband provided and knew exactly how to keep the party going and mix the music to keep everyone dancing. He even had great suggestions on songs that we might want to include (old songs from college, sports, etc) that he perfectly mixed into the evening. His ability to sense how the party is going and keep the party going was exactly what I wanted in a DJ. My husband and I have been to weddings recently, and always make a point of noting how much better our DJ was! The value was also great, as Carl genuinely loves music, loves to talk about music, and to get to know how we wanted the day to be. Leni, our DJ from Classic Collective DJs did an amazing job. With input limited to a particular genre and few artists, Leni put together an awesome playlist, that we and our guests still rave about today! Leni truly enjoys his craft and it was on full display at our reception. Leni is a true professional in every sense.

My wife and I could not be happier to have had DJ Carl play at our wedding. His background in playing clubs for over a decade, combined with extensive (read: hundreds!) of weddings put us at ease immediately. We had several Skype conversations and were blown away by the detail questionnaire he had us work through. It was clear he cared about what we liked, and wanted to make this night memorable for us, our family and friends. A true professional.
When the day came the party was more than we could have imagined. Audio at the ceremony was crisp, cocktail hour was elegant and classy, and the music for the reception and dancing flowed through our broad taste with ease. We had numerous compliments from the guests, including my dad who stopped over to the bridal party table specifically to say how much the family was rocking out to the music during dinner and wasn't DJ Carl the greatest. Top it off to the entire wedding party and many guests singing along during dinner and storming the dance floor at first chance and it was a night to remember. The energy and love was made more by the must-play songs DJ Carl wove in expertly, and his ability to read the crowd and cadence the music through all genres. We are delighted and highly recommend his services.
After the wedding, we received a full set list so that we can relive the music from this night whenever we want. Talk about a touch of class!

Our wedding as amazing, better than anything we ever could have dreamed of and it had so much to do with Carl. My husband and I are not dancers and could never be described as the life of the party. However, we wanted our guests to have the best time ever. Carl spent so much time discussing what we wanted, our music interests, our music dislikes, and incorporated it all into the wedding. He easily read the crowd and knew exactly what to play and when to play it so the party could continue. Everyone said that the music was amazing and the party was so much fun. I cannot thank Carl enough for that!

We are so happy we selected Carl from Classic Collective DJs for our wedding! We met with him twice and he really made selecting music for the various parts of our wedding very easy! His background in the business really put us at ease. On the day of the wedding, the music he played for our ceremony and reception was perfect! DJ Carl Jr. was fantastic! Before our party, he spent a lot of time with us to help shape the playlist and find out what we wanted from the party. The final playlist not only incorporated all of our requests, but also provided the perfect backdrop for the cocktail portion and then got everybody out on the dance floor after and long into the night! My husband and I met with four DJs while planning our wedding, but the only one that we came away impressed with was Carl. His genuine interest in us, our preferences, and our overall wedding theme was only a small indication of his overall attention to detail. As a musician, my husband is very sensitive to how a DJ mixes songs based on tempo, time signature, and overall feel. When Carl repeatedly touched on this, we were both sold. Our first meeting was just a precursor to the amazing service he provided for our wedding. Carl effortlessly blended songs of different genres and cultures, creating an environment where it was impossible for everyone not to dance. As requested, he stayed in the background and did not draw any attention to himself the entire night. In terms of vendors for our wedding, we could not have been happier. I highly recommend Carl to anyone who is seeking a highly-skilled DJ who knows music, and knows the dynamics of creating a festive atmosphere.

Our whole wedding surpassed our expectations...we felt like we were in a dream! I hired Carl for my wedding at the recommendation of my wedding planners. Music was definitely one of the things that I felt most opinionated about when it came to the wedding and reception, I couldn't have been more pleased with our choice! Carl is very knowledgable and passionate about music, he is professional and talented and he is an overall good guy. Carl was totally open to my suggestions and requests which was so important to me. My advice for brides-to-be? Hire Carl (Classic Disc Jockeys) for your wedding! Carl was so easy and fun to work with from the very beginning and made our wedding day absolutely incredible! He made sure that he understood exactly what we wanted – we trusted him completely and he did not disappoint!

Carl was professional, engaged, and responsive throughout the entire planning process. One of our main goals was to keep people dancing – mission accomplished! I can’t tell you how many times we heard “your DJ was awesome,” “I have never had so much fun dancing at a wedding,” and “the music was amazing.”

Carl is professional, personable, and knows his stuff. He loves music, and he also gets to know you and the tone of your event. You can trust him to be what your event needs, and he just keeps everything running smoothly. He is not tacky or lame or cheesy or “too much”. Our guests had a fantastic time dancing, and the music was just right through each segment of the evening. Carl just put the right songs on at the right time, and at the right volume. He knows how to feel the room. He plays songs you wish you would have told him to play!

We got married in late April 2013 and Carl was our DJ. Carl was the absolute best, we couldn't be happier with his work, professionalism, reading the audience, and keeping everyone on the dance floor and having a great time the whole night. He was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny. We are recommending him to all our friends. He has terrific range and is an expert at reading the crowd and figuring out how to keep the party going. We had a smaller wedding (100 persons) but the dance floor was more crowded than much larger weddings we've been to. Carl is an excellent choice and we're very grateful for his skilled approach.

Carl took the time to meet with me and my partner and we spoke at length about the type of music that we wanted and the "vibe" we wanted to create at our wedding. Carl provided music as guests arrived, during the ceremony, during the cocktail hour, during dinner, and then for cake cutting and dancing into the night. So it was a huge variety of music and every song was exactly what we wanted. We had even mentioned that we don't like line dances and when a few guests requested Macarena or Electric Slide, he politely turned them down. Carl also took charge of asking guests to assemble for the ceremony, be seated for dinner, and he let folks know when we were cutting the cake and dancing our first dance together. He was there on time, he was friendly, and I would hire him again in a minute because he had the guests dancing all night.

We had a fantastic experience working with Carl! I had searched many many sites and made many phone calls during the search for a DJ. Finally I came across Carl on this website and a few others, and also (within the same week) got a recommendation from a friend who had worked with Carl for her wedding. I felt confident that he would be the right choice.

What stood out about Carl and Classic Disc Jockey services was professionalism. Carl was easy to work with and communicate with, and his priority was clearly customizing the event to meet our wants/needs. We were looking for someone to provide our guests with a great party, but to allow the guests to create that party themselves rather than having a DJ instruct/engage them in specific games and dances (we didn't want anything cheesey). Carl kept the dance floor packed all night and everyone had a great time. We asked that he did emcee the event in terms of making announcements etc. but that there not be any crazy group dances, or games or props. He was right on point and helped keep our event flowing, on time, and lots of fun!

Carl also provided the music for our ceremony and was VERY helpful in working with us to find music that would create the atmosphere we were looking for.

The night was flawless and we are very thankful =) If you are searching for somone experienced, professional and reliable- you should definitely talk to Carl.

We are forever grateful to the incomparable Beth Bailey for guiding us towards Carl Brashears, Jr of Classic DJs. Carl is such a music expert; it is clearly his passion, and he just has the most profound love and understanding of how to use music to create an unforgettable and lively wedding reception. He earned our eternal gratitude and respect by simply ensuring that the wedding remained 'ours', and let the music shine through instead of cheesy gimmicks and unnecessary/awkward interludes or comments to keep the energy going. Carl is a fantastic DJ! The manager of my venue gave him such a glowing endorsement, I knew right away that I wanted to book him. Meeting him and talking about music with him just made me even more certain of my decision. Carl knows A LOT about music and loves to talk about it. My husband and I had a great time meeting with him and just shooting the breeze about music. Even as we had what felt like a casual conversation with a friend, Carl was taking extensive notes and it clearly showed on the night of our wedding. Songs or musicians that we had just mentioned in passing ended up on the playlist and everything flowed beautifully.

Carl not only handled our reception music, but he also played the music during our ceremony. It was great being able to deal with just one person for everything. He also had lots of great suggestions for fun and unique music to play while our guests were arriving. As for the reception, the dance floor was packed all night. I have never had so much fun in my life! Carl did a great job seamlessly transitioning from more family-friendly music early in the evening to party music later in the night. I was so sad when the reception was over and we had to stop dancing. So many of our guests complimented us on the music. It really was the best night. Thank you, Carl!

Carl and Classic DJs came highly recommend by both our venue and caterer and, after our initial meeting with Carl, we totally understood why. He is extremely professional, organized, has years of experience with DJing in general (not just weddings) and truly looks to learn about the couple and the vibe they're hoping to achieve.

We got no less than 20 compliments on Carl and the atmosphere/energy he kept alive all night. He kept the dance floor packed by playing a mix of music that appealed to all ages. Classic DJ's was the first vendor who we booked for our wedding. Classic DJ's came highly recommended, and after our initial meeting with Carl we didn't feel the need to meet with anyone else. Carl was the best! He is NOT at all like any other wedding DJ I have experienced. He is the NON-DJ!! He listened to everything we requested and spent a lot of time with us prior to our event to make sure he played the exact style that we wanted.
Our dance floor was PACKED the entire night! He knows so much about music and knows how to read a crowd! Very talented guy!

Also, we weren't sure what song we wanted him to play for our last dance. So we asked Carl to pick one he thought would fit us best as he observed our crowd throughout the night. My husband and I now consider our last dance more of "our song" than our 1st dance! He picked Sublime, "What I Got" which was PERFECT! It was one of the most memorable moments of our wedding day. Every guest was on the floor dancing and singing, as my husband and I were in the middle of the circle.

Hiring Carl to be your DJ will be one of the best decisions you will make for your wedding. We received so many compliments from our wedding guests about his music selections, and we were so happy with what he played at our reception. Carl is exactly what we were looking for in a DJ - classy, attentive, subtle, and laid back. If you want flashing lights and the chicken dance and music videos displayed on a screen and the DJ talking on the mic throughout your reception, Carl is NOT the guy for you; however, if you want to have a truly classy reception with great music, choose Carl. It will be the best money you will spend for your entire event.

Carl was awesome! He made sure that the music played was **exactly** what we wanted. I'm a little picky when it comes to music played at weddings and gave Carl a very specific DO NOT PLAY list. Carl did not play one of the songs on the do not play list and better yet, played almost every song on the list I gave him (he couldn't play all of them because we ran out of time). He put the songs together so that they flowed perfectly and everybody had a great time dancing the whole night. He did a great job coordinating the flow of events and was very professional. We were so pleased with Carl--we couldn't have asked for more!

After meeting with several DJs we finally found Carl and knew right away that he was the perfect person to DJ our party. In presenting him with the challenge of playing modern, Middle Eastern as well as Greek music at the reception, he hit a homerun. In the planning phase he was always accessible and responsive. During the reception, we appreciated that he came to us when guests requested things not linked to our play list (i.e. The Chicken Dance). Nothing was corny or overdone. Carl doesn't do DJ-factory weddings and it was obvious that lots of work went into creating the mood and music for our night. It was wonderful to have a DJ with the right mix of experience and professionalism. He kept our guests on the dance floor all night and we are ever so appreciative!

Leni from Classic Collective DJs knocked it out of the park! He made our December 10, 2016 wedding so perfect and so memorable! Leni was so very patient and helpful working with us; he made the process of picking music and organizing a day of timeline incredibly easy. He easily worked with our caterer and photographer to make all parts of our wedding day completely seamless! My new husband and I cannot even count all of the compliments we received on the music (pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing)!! The hubby and I specifically asked for upbeat, 90's/2000's hip hop and classics for our reception and Leni delivered! Everyone was on their feet the entire reception! We did most of our planning with Carl and started speaking with him about 6 months before our big day. I'll confess that I really didn't know what I was looking for in a DJ or Musician but in general, from all of our vendors, we were looking for easy going individuals who were passionate about their job so we could give them a bit of "freedom" in delivering the best night of our lives. We certainly got that and more with Carl and Leni. Our conversations primarily started with Carl via skype and we immediately felt comfortable with the range of music he enjoyed and played, as well as his confidence in picking music that reflects the couple's taste. We discussed the fact that my husband and I are NOT big music people but the music we like, we LOVE... and it's generally not the most danceable. So for us we were looking for a DJ who could meet our music tastes while still keep our dance floor packed. We picked maybe 20-30 songs we wanted to hear on the night and left the rest to Leni (the other DJ of Classic DJ's). Leni played a great intro song for us (Black Keys) and once dinner was finished, our dance floor was PACKED for the whole night. Our guests RAVED about the wedding and said they loved the music, at some point we even had a dance off circle going. Everything they played was in our genre and was all music that we would happily listen to over and over again. Carl did a great job as our wedding dj. He met with us twice before the event to make sure he was giving us what we wanted. He was very responsive to our music demands, and on the day of the wedding was very professional and did exactly what we asked: blend in and don't say a lot! Not that he would have said something wrong, but we wanted a dj who didn't take over or run the event, just someone to make sure the tunes kept the guests happy. Great job Carl!

Great music, easy collaboration

We were in last-minute need of a DJ for our wedding, and luckily Carl had a slot open up on our date! His rates were higher than several of the other companies we were considering, but ultimately, based on our phone consultation, we felt that Carl had the best understanding of our musical taste and what we were aiming for. We also had him do the music and sound system for our ceremony, which came off without a hitch. Putting song requests into the Collective DJs online tool ahead of time was pretty simple, and Carl was able to get all of the songs we requested.

Carl is wonderful. We met with him leading up to the wedding and his passion for music just seeps out of his pores. You can tell how excited he is about it, and that's what we wanted. We met with other DJs and they would give us a website or spreadsheet and say "fill in which songs you want me to play." Fail. That's why we are hiring a DJ We don't want to think about that! With Carl, you tell him the types of music you like, the feeling you want (I said current hits and dancing all night), and he recreates it. We did supply a list of some must plays and do not plays and he did a great job with that. He even did an ipod playlist for us for the cocktail hour He is not one of those in your face DJs, but again, that's what we wanted. I took a little off for responsiveness because he is a busy guy and can't always get back to emails as quickly as you would expect. He kept the dance floor packed all night (which was one of my biggest worries) and everyone had a blast! I would recommend Carl to anyone.

Carl was great from the day we got in touch with him through the wedding and even with his follow-up. I have a very particular taste in music, so I was looking for a DJ that could both cater to my tastes, as well as to those of the entire wedding audience. Carl did a great job of combining my favorite songs with other songs that the rest of the wedding party enjoyed. You could really tell he listened to the all the songs on the (huge) list I sent him, as the flow between the songs was great and you could see his experience as a club DJ coming through in the great/seamless transitions between songs. Not only did he keep up a good mix of music, but he also kept the party going once the dancing started and did a great job of getting different generations involved with music from different decades. Carl was also very helpful in helping us select ceremony music and provided great suggestions that we loved as he really understood what our music tastes were by that time.

DJ Carl Jr is the best! His extensive and eclectic knowledge of music made him the perfect match for our wedding. My wife and I pride ourselves on our eccentric musical tastes, and Carl Jr was able to work with us to provide an amazing experience for our guests. I can't count the number of comments from friends and family asking where we found our DJ, and exclaiming that his was the most incredible mix of wedding music they had ever heard.

As a professional-level procrastinator, I'm writing this review almost two months after our wedding took place, and still the thing that stands out the most is how Carl Jr's performance so aptly complemented the bold statements we made in our choices of venue (Baltimore's American Visionary Art Museum), colors, menu, outfits, etc. With any other DJ, our wedding night could not have been the magical night that it was. And all of this was delivered after only two conversations and a short list of our favorite artists and songs. Carl Jr navigated his way to a full understanding of what we were looking for, added an artistic touch, and more than delivered on his promise.

My husband and I were thrilled with our experience with Carl at our September wedding. His services came highly recommended by the wedding coordinator of our venue and he was professional and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Carl collaborated with us and our strong opinions on music to help us have an event that was both crowd pleasing and specific to our taste. Carl also had great recommendations on some of the more challenging aspects of music planning, ceremony, and cocktail music. We received so many compliments on his services by many guests. I would most certainly refer him to a friend.

This guy is amazing. Anyone with scary visions of "the wedding singer" can be put at ease. Carl meets with you at least 3 times prior to the big day to get a feel for your style of music, location layout, etc. He'll work with any other musicians involved to make the music transitions flawless. He is timely, and will play what *you* want, not what he wants. I would highly recommend him and am so happy I did. A little more expensive than the WalMart version of DJs, but well worth the extra money.
