    Perfection

From our first meeting with Justine to the many months leading up to the wedding she was responsive, knowledgeable and organized. The venue was perfect for the size and nature of our reception and the space was so beautiful on its own that it only required minimal decorating. The food portions were generous and everything was delicious. It was truly our dream wedding and we couldn’t have asked for more.

    Panamanian-Jewish Wedding

We had an awesome experience with Justine and Brittany at City Winery. The venue was so accommodating to make our Wedding day perfect. The Wine Garden Rooftop is a beautiful setting for a City Wedding and it has an elegant, rustic, modern look / vibe to it. City Winery is constantly adding into the look of the venue, they even covered the walls with Ivy in the rooftop and it really added into our overall ceremony look. Also, we had about 110 guests with several food restrictions and they accomodated/catered to all of them, everyone was talking about how delicious the food was! Moreover, our wedding was a mix of Panamanian and Jewish traditions and we had several unusual requests such as a horah dance and an hora loca with Panamanian Carnival dancers. Let me just say that Justine and Brittany just went with it and even offered more than a few recommendations along the way. We highly enjoyed our experience at City Winery and wouldn't be surprised if they become one of the top venues in the District

    A+ Experience & Excellent Venue!

I worked with City Winery DC as a vendor for a wedding and I loved the entire experience. The venue was amazing and the staff was really accommodating, ensuring that I was good to go while unloading, setting up, and loading. Brittany and her team were amazing and I really appreciated the open communication leading up to the event as well as during the event. Definitely looking forward to working with City Winery DC again.

Beautiful Venue, Incredible Team - YES all around!

Brittany & the Team at City Winery were absolutely incredible to work with. Their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that my client's wedding ran smoothly, met the needs of the client and then some & all with a wonderful and spirit and smiles.

Beautiful venue, attention to detail, willingness to accommodate the needs of the client and personal connection are all reasons why it was a joy to partner together on this wedding.

Professional and easy to work with, beautiful venue

We chose City Winery for our wedding this May, and it was the most amazing day. The venue is stunning and the staff is accommodating, patient, professional, easy to work with, and went above and beyond what we could have expected. The whole wedding process was simplified and fun because of Suzanna. The day of the wedding was fun, beautiful, and the food was wonderful. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the wedding was. Our wedding was everything we have ever imagined. We would highly recommend City Winery.

FINALLY, a BIG DC venue that has it all !

When we started looking for a venue for our 150-175 guest wedding, we knew we wanted to be in or around DC. We also knew we didn't want anything too stuffy or too fussy. That was really hard in DC! Everything big was not really our style. We wanted a more laid back vibe, with a little bit of an edge to it. We LOVED City Winery! It was a little bit rustic, a little bit industrial and a whole lot of amazing. Plus, it gave us the advantages of an all-in-one, like a catering hall or hotel, with a hell of a lot more character. The food was absolutely AMAZING (The short rib entree was to die for!) and our band LOVED playing at this concert venue. It looked, sounded, and tasted amazing. The staff was friendly and those in charge of coordinating the event did a great job. (I would recommend hiring a day-of planner to make sure everything goes seamlessly.) We used the wine garden floor (GREAT indoor-outdoor COVERED space) for the ceremony and the convert venue floor for the reception. Loved it!

    Thank you City Winery

Booking City Winery for our wedding was the best decision ever! We took our hard hat tour back in December 2017. The venue was under major construction and still had leftover furniture from the old Love Nightclub that occupied the building. Colleen did such a good job working with us and walking us through their vision for the space that we took a leap of faith and booked the venue for our October 2018 wedding. Colleen was patient, responsive and extremely helpful! I was planning the entire wedding by myself with no planner and Colleen worked with me through every question and/or concern that I had. I honestly couldn't have gotten through the planning process without her guidance. Unfortunately, Colleen left City Winery a few weeks before our wedding day but she informed me that I was in good hands with Brittany. I was a bit nervous about our POC changing right before the wedding but Brittany was awesome! The transition was seamless! Brittany helped me finalize all the details and kept my mind at ease. She understood my vision and executed the entire wedding perfectly. She worked with all my vendors to ensure that everything was set up just the way I wanted it. Honestly, I was blown away. The end result exceeded my expectations. Brittany made me feel so comfortable and was such a pleasure to work with!

The venue itself was beautiful. We booked the 3rd floor Wine Garden for our ceremony/reception and the 4th floor Rooftop for cocktail hour. We received so many compliments from our guests about the food (dinner was amazing), alcohol (open bar), friendly staff, beautiful venue and just the entire wedding overall. Thank you Brittany and City Winery for such a wonderful experience!

    Highly Recommend!

We are so happy with our decision to choose City Winery as our wedding venue! It is unique, beautiful and the food is delicious. Not to mention the wine! Some of the first things people said to me during the cocktail hour was how great the wine is. We agree!! The staff is easy to work with and so helpful. Suzanna was our wedding coordinator and she really went above and beyond for us! The food at the wedding was delicious, people keep commenting about it whenever we see them. The space is a really pretty place and creates a warm, romantic and gorgeous backdrop for a wedding. Another bonus is the sound system and acoustics! Because City Winery is a concert venue we were able to hear the DJ and have an amazing dance party while still having easy to hear conversations. We highly recommend having your wedding at City Winery, we are so so happy that we did and we keep talking about when we will go back for dinner and more wine!

We had the time of our lives and we want to do it all over again. Our guests are still talking about what a wonderful time we had/. The venue is amazing! You get an outdoor feel but are under a roof. The food. Amazing! Chef Brandon did an amazing job and we are foodies who were pleased! Beverage selection is amazing! Working with Colleen made planning super easy! They are flexible and fair. Everything was amazing! We could not have asked for more!

From the moment we toured City Winery, we knew it was the perfect fit for our wedding! We had our wedding in the Winery and Barrel Room, and it was such a unique, cool, and intimate space. I cannot thank Erin Winrock enough for all her help during the planning process, and for making the actual day so perfect!! She answered my often frequent emails with kindness, and detail, and always put me at ease with any concerns I was having. City Winery truly goes above and beyond to accommodate you, and make sure that your experience, and your day is perfect and seamless. The food is great, the wine is obviously awesome, and the staff truly shines. Thank you Erin, and the team at City Winery for an experience and night we will always remember!!

5 Stars all around! We held our wedding at CW's Wine Garden last weekend. It was amazing! From meeting and taking a hard-hat tour in February, booking the venue, and the day of our wedding, Colleen was super-responsive, helpful and kept us on track as far as planning goes. On our wedding day, from the moment we arrived, getting ready in the bridal suite, first look photos, ceremony and reception, the staff was truly first-class! Colleen and her team did an excellent job executing all of the details surrounding the big day. THANK YOU GUYS!

City Winery was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding day and the entire wedding planning process with the staff (especially Suzanna) was a breeze. Having both grown up outside of Manhattan and as current residents we were looking for a venue that had an urban vibe, but that wasn't too stuffy. City Winery transformed from a concert venue into an oasis and was the perfect combination of urban, rustic and elegance. If wine, food and music are very important to you (as they are to us) City Winery is the best combination of these three things.

The food was very good, and we were offered many different choices for both the cocktail hour appetizers and the entrees. And the cake which is included within the cost was delicious (from Tribeca Treats) and people are still talking about the chocolate mousse with sea salt. City Winery was also very accommodating and allowed us to order in a late night pizza delivery for our guests toward the end of the party.

We loved having access to the entire venue and it came in handy when the weather did not cooperate for outdoor pictures. Our pictures turned out much better than we'd expected and we have some great shots downstairs where the barrels are stored and in the winery itself (where we had the cocktail hour).

Logistics wise, Suzanna and the rest of the staff had everything covered and were extremely organized with tremendous attention to detail. The communication with the rest of our vendors felt flawless and the day of flowed exactly how we'd imagined. In fact, we've even had people ask us for our wedding schedule since it worked so well. As City Winery manages logistics for many types of events, I would say this is one of their strong suits.

Our wedding was hands down the best day of our lives and we would not change a thing. We thank City Winery for making it so special.

We had our wedding at City Winery on 8/22/15 and it was a fantastic experience. We worked with Alienor to plan our day, and she was with us the whole way, including as our day-of coordinator. Alienor was attentive, friendly, professional and very easy to work with. I am a very particular person - I created details like custom match books and cocktail napkins, monogram letters, and special straws. I even created a floorplan showing the layout and Alienor put together our day perfectly. The entire experience was such a pleasure. Theresa was my bridal attendant, she was so lovely when we met her at our tasting that we requested her specifically. All of the staff was professional and attentive, we have received nothing but positive feedback from our guests.
My husband and I wanted to get married downtown, where our love story began. We wanted a formal affair that was warm and welcoming, not stuffy and cold. City Winery proved to be exactly that - so comfortable and inviting and polished. We went with all white florals with subtle antique green accents - the flowers popped beautifully against the wood and iron. The space was gorgeous - open and airy. We had 100 guests, and a photobooth and were not crowded at all.
The value at this venue is unbeatable. They don't nickel and dime you and they throw a fantastic party. The food was delicious and creative (my husband and I are very picky NYC foodies). They were very accommodating - we had special arrangements made for various gluten free, vegan and kosher guests, including them welcoming us bringing in outside gluten free desserts.
The night flowed perfectly and was orchestrated by the staff. My husband and I had such a great time, completely carefree, because they took care of everything.

City Winery served as the perfect backdrop to our Manhattan wedding. My husband and I spent a lot of time researching and visiting locations in the city and City Winery fit all our needs.

We worked with Emily who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Her level or responsiveness was always impressive, even when we were still more than 6 months out from our wedding date, if I emailed her with a question she would always get back to me right away. As a bride, I valued that and appreciated it so much.

We held both our ceremony and reception for about 115 people at City Winery. We had a bridal suite option at City Winery, but opted to get ready across the street at Trump Soho, instead - which was a very nice location.

Our ceremony started at 6:00 in the main concert area, then all our guests moved into the winery (with the large steel barrels) and the restaurant for cocktail hour while the venue switched over the main room from ceremony to dinner/reception. The whole process was seamless and turned out beautifully.

We served a seated dinner with salad, two entree choices, a pasta course and mini passed desserts. Our guests absolutely raved about the food. One of our entrees was the lamb shoulder and I've had two people ask if I can get the recipe! My husband and I thought the food was better on the day of our wedding than at our tasting, even. I was very impressed.

We also had open bar all night and went with the upgraded wine choices. We worked with Tali to chose our wines and she was super-knowledgeable and helpful.

Overall City Winery is a top notch event space with high-end, delicious food and their weddings are beautiful. We had a live band (45 Riots) instead of a DJ, since City Winery is traditionally a live music space and the sound and acoustics were perfect. The staff is friendly and attentive. I couldn't have asked for anything more for my wedding day.

Unique Venue, Easy to Work With, Perfect Day

City Winery was the first place we looked at for our wedding reception and after touring a bunch of other places, City Winery was a clear winner, it truly had everything we wanted! The staff is lovely to work with; we worked with both Alienor to start and then mostly Erin throughout planning. They were very quick to answer emails (and I sent a lot) and the planning process went very smooth. Erin made sure that my vision was executed exactly how I imagined it day of and the space looked stunning. The food was excellent, the staff day of was attentive and our guests still rave about what a great time they had and how unique the venue was. Our photos came out amazing too; definitely opt for lights above the dance floor! They gave us a few options for a cake and we ended up hiring City Sweets; Deborah made a beautiful cake and it tasted really good too! We extended the wedding late night to the Barrel Room and it was a seamless after party transition. I can't thank Erin and City Winery enough for executing our wedding perfectly.

Beautiful space, aweseom food, and a great value in DC

We received so many compliments on both the space and the food at City Winery DC. We were one of the earlier weddings after City Winery DC opened, so there were a number of unknowns in the months leading up to the wedding, but we're so happy that we took a chance on a venue that was unfinished when we first walked through. City Winery DC has spaces large and small, we chose the third and fourth floors for a semi-outdoor ceremony on the roof and an indoor-outdoor reception on the third floor. The staff was totally open to setting up the space in any way that we wanted. It was great that the space is totally wired for sound and that City Winery DC has tables that can be set up in any configuration. Early on there was a bit of confusion about how many people could fit in the indoor wine garden space, but by the time of our wedding the staff had a much better sense of how many tables should be fit into the room. We loved that we didn't need any rentals (i.e. chairs, tables, lights, linens, etc). Also, we felt that the staff went above and beyond the day of our wedding by decorating, helping to cue the ceremony, and following our requested timing of service and events (i.e. first dance, toasts, etc). Overall I think that City Winery DC is an amazing value in a city where wedding venue and catering prices can be outrageous.

City Winery 10 Year Anniversary Party

Suzanna at City Winery made planning our 10 Year Anniversary party easy, fun, and worry free! My husband and I have always loved the venue after having gone to other events here in the past, and so we knew immediately that the setting and vibe were perfect for the intimate cocktail party we had in mind. It was made even more beautiful with the flowers we ordered from one of City Winery's recommended florists, and the food and wine offerings were exceptional. Suzanna and staff even handled the extra decor I had brought in a few days prior so I literally didn't have to set up or clean up anything before or after the event. The service from the staff was impeccable too and everyone was so nice and helpful to our family and friends. We really could not have asked for a more wonderful experience, and in a lot of ways it was more fun than our actual wedding! We would definitely host another event here again without question! Thank you to Suzanna and everyone at City Winery for making the night so memorable!

We just got married at City Winery in June and it was such a wonderful experience due to working with Suzanna!! She was such a pleasure to work with - extremely responsive, flexible, cheery, and creative! My husband and I knew we didn't want to have overly planned out wedding (had been to 12 weddings in 2016), and when I look back on the day it was exactly what we wanted / needed - a gathering of friends and family all in one place with great food, drinks, and music.

We were paying for most of the wedding ourselves, so we really wanted to ensure our vision was carried out and Suzanna helped achieve all that and more. We started with a short and sweet ceremony in the main room and then guests moved into the bar room for cocktail hour while the amazing CW staff quickly turned the main room into our reception area. Everyone (bartenders, waitstaff, bridal attendant) was super professional and lovely throughout the whole day (you have the space for the whole day, which is AMAZING).

Really couldn't have asked for a better time!

City Winery was unequivocally THE BEST. The space has a sophisticated and urban, yet rustic feel with great lighting (which is included) and, because it's usually a live music venue, a great sound system. Because it is a real restaurant most days of the week, the place doesn't require a whole lot of decor, which is a great time- and money-saver, and the food is excellent. Not excellent-for-catering… it's legitimately excellent. The wine, needless to say, is so much better than the wholesale stuff most other venues/caterers will pour, and it flows freely throughout the night. And the rest of the bar was tops. Everything about this venue was simply spot on.

But what really resonates with me weeks later was how absolutely awesome their staff was/is. From the first meeting to the end of the big night, the event coordinators were friendly, professional, flexible, understanding and altogether wonderful. The staff were all great. They definitely know what they are doing there, and they went above and beyond, making the entire process seamless, worry-free and of course, memorable. Everyone at our wedding had a spectacular time, and so much credit is due to City Winery. We've already started joking we want to throw a wedding every year, and frankly, we would never throw one anywhere else. It's not the cheapest place, but they don't nickel-and-dime, and trust, they will make you feel like you are getting every penny's worth.

    Wedding perfection at City Winery

We're so glad we chose City Winery over the many other venue options in the DC area. Unlike other venues we toured, City Winery was able to offer us: (1) a huge amount of flexible space, (2) amazing food, (3) an indoor-outdoor vibe (4) casual yet classy atmosphere. From the moment we walked into City Winery, we loved that it's brightness and openness. We used the wine garden and rooftop levels, which fit our ~160 guest size perfectly. We had the dancefloor set up on the patio, which gave us plenty of room, and we also left the upstairs rooftop open to guests during the reception. During the planning process and especially on the day of the event, Brittany and her team did an outstanding job delivering exactly what we wanted. If there were any mistakes, I never heard about them! We didn't have a day-of coordinator so were a little (okay, very) nervous about pulling everything off, but Brittany really did an outstanding job and made sure that we had everything we wanted, exactly how we wanted it. Our guests raved about the food and the space-- many people told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and we agree. City Winery really allowed us to bring our wedding vision to fruition, and we're so glad we chose to get married there.

Amazing Wedding, the city winery did an amazing job. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a venue. The staff did a wonderful, job on top of everything. The food was delicious, and the service the best I have seen in a very long time.

    April wedding

City winery was a great location. The staff was very helpful and responsive to emails. The whole day was beautiful. Only issues we had was the large amount of turn over. We were connected to three different coordinators throughout the year due to people leaving their position which was frustrating. The second was the difficulty we had scheduling our tasting/walk through. Their tastings are only offered Monday through Friday from 12-3 which is unhelpful when you had a full time job. It was also difficult to find a day that the chef was available for the tasting.

Overall, I would recommend this location but make sure you’re flexible with scheduling meetings!

Overall a great venue, but some flaws along the way

We were able to book CW fairly last minute (a little over 3 months before our date), so that was extremely helpful. Their prices also seemed far more reasonable than some comparable places in the city. It also ended up being a very Covid-friendly venue, as we were able to utilize all of their outdoor spaces to keep the party as safe as possible. Overall the process of planning with them was fine, though it often felt disorganized and I had to be very proactive about asking for things. The biggest hiccup happened about 2-3 days before the wedding when our PoC at CW remembered that our vendors needed to submit insurance policies with CW listed (first I had heard of it), so I had to reach out to all our vendors and ask for this at the last minute. It turned out fine, but I was pretty annoyed at the lack of professionalism/organization. On the night of, the venue looked great and the food was decent, but I heard a lot of stories afterwards about guests getting served the wrong meal or dietary restrictions being totally ignored. Ultimately, everything worked out okay, our pictures look beautiful, and I would still recommend the venue, but they definitely have some room for improvement.

Great Day of experience, lackluster admin support ahead of time

We had a great experience the day of the event, the food was amazing, the bartenders were great, and all of the wait staff were attentive to our guests. Our wedding went off without any major problems.

However, we owe a lot of the background work to our month-of-coordinator as we were disappointed with the coordination support we received from City Winery the year leading up to the wedding. As others mentioned, we worked with 3 different staff members from signing our contract to the day of. While our initial contact seemed on top of her game, and with each new coordinator we grew less and less confident in their capacity. Our final coordinator was nice, but seemed disorganized and this was illustrated during our final walk through. The coordinator did not take any notes during the final walk through and we spent the weeks leading up to our wedding confirming all the details we had discussed during our walk through- I was surprised by this lack of professionalism. There were also many question marks throughout the planning including number of heaters and elevators.

I'd recommend City Winery but suggest you have your own coordinator to ensure things are handled the day of.

Beautiful venue, all inclusive package, staff turnover

We booked City Winery after a hard hat tour in late 2017 / early 2018, and were excited about the reasonable price for an all-inclusive (read: EASY) event space in DC. We used the 3rd & 4th floors for our wedding of ~150. We liked that there was a lot of space, outdoor and indoor space, multiple bars, big bathrooms, nice (though sparse) decor. Our DJ *loved* the sound system.

There are other reviews about the staff turnover, and we had the same experience: booked with Colleen, then were given Brittany ~3 weeks before our wedding when Colleen left. The timing obviously was not ideal... Brittany was very green at the time when she led our final walk-through, so Erin the Venue director ended up being point person for our wedding. I'm not sure if Brittany even ended up working our wedding, which made the disorganization of the final walkthrough unnecessarily concerning for us.

The elevator still wasn't working by the time of our wedding, so we had to have guests use a service elevator instead - hopefully it is ready now. One area where I wish I could have had more help was around the seating... no one at CW seemed to know how to use the seating chart program they asked me to use, and I spent many hours re-writing the seating charts in different formats when the program glitched (or no one knew it well enough to troubleshoot).

We loved the food -- we still get compliments on the appetizers, and the main courses were delicious. We had a couple guests who requested kosher meals, and they seemed pretty unhappy with their food (though I'm sure that's not a common request).

Overall, very happy with our wedding ceremony/reception

City Winery DC is a unique venue with several different spaces that can accommodate all types of events. We were looking for a venue within DC that could accommodate a large wedding that wasn't too "stuffy" or generic. We loved the industrial, chic vibes of City Winery. We also didn't want to focus or invest a lot of time on minor details in wedding planning, so we found the inclusive packages very appealing, and loved that we didn't have to concern ourselves with rentals for different items (tables/chairs, linens, sound system, etc.). We also loved the indoor/outdoor covered spaces, therefore there is no need for a rainy day plan.

We initially booked the venue right before the COVID-19 shutdowns and ultimately postponed our summer 2020 wedding to November 2021. With the ongoing concerns and disruptions due to the COVID variants throughout 2021, the variety of indoor/outdoor spaces became even more appealing to us than when we initially booked the venue. We knew that November could be chilly, but we were assured there would be heaters and after a year of comfortably dining outdoors at many winterized DC establishments, we had expectations that the covered outdoor spaces at City Winery would be more adequately heated. Their portable infrared heaters didn’t warm the space much too much, but we provided blankets, hand warmers, and hot beverages during our rooftop ceremony and we all managed just fine. We used the indoor portion of the Wine Garden for dining and kept the doors open to the outdoor portion of the Wine Garden for the dance floor, which was extremely lively and fun the entire night. We should note that our guests love to dance and party and kept the space warm, so if you think your dance floor might be more tame, we would not advise using the outdoor spaces during any of the cooler months in DC.

Overall, we found our interactions with City Winery staff to be pleasant and professional. The pandemic has been a challenging time for the hospitality industry and wedding vendors, so we try to keep that in mind when we consider our dissatisfactions. Everyone is overworked and extended, therefore we did experience communication challenges and delays while planning our wedding. However, on the day of the wedding, we were extremely impressed with the quality of the service from every level of the staff. The food was great, the drinks were flowing, and the staff were extremely attentive to our guests' needs. Everyone had a blast! We would recommend City Winery to other couples, but would strongly advise hiring a wedding planner or coordinator for additional support. The support from our wedding coordinator definitely helped ease our minds while corresponding with City Winery in the final months leading up to our wedding.

Beautiful space, delicious food, disappointing staff

First things first: this is an incredibly beautiful space for a wedding. We held our ceremony on the roof deck, which was gorgeous even in pouring rain (and our guests were dry), and our cocktail hour in the outdoor wine garden and dinner inside. The spaces were all perfect, our guests had an amazing time, and the food and wine was superb as well. We really felt like we lucked out in terms of the space and the food: the day itself was really magical, and it was a great experience for our guests, because the venue itself had such a great setup and food/drink.

But we also felt extremely disappointed in the lackluster service that we received from City Winery's staff, especially given the very sizable administrative fees. We first started planning our wedding with Colleen, and signed the contract with her because we felt so confident in her work; unfortunately, she soon afterwards left City Winery and we began to work with Brittany, who seemed solid. We had been promised by Brittany that we would be working primarily with her, given that we had been working with Colleen before, but soon found ourselves passed off to another planner whose competence was constantly up in the air: she never seemed to be well-organized in our conversations and meetings, and we had really no confidence in her ability to pull off our actual wedding day. Communication in advance of the wedding was rough, and we constantly had to follow up on requests to make sure that they were actually implemented. We were extremely glad we had hired a day-of planner, who took careful notes in our meetings and made sure everything ran smoothly at our wedding, because we had lost confidence in City Winery's staff by the time our wedding came.

Due to this issue, there were also several major issues that came up during our wedding. City Winery's dessert sweet bites were included in our package, but we made emphatically clear that the important part of our dessert was the beautiful cake that we had ordered from an outside baker. Nevertheless, City Winery's staff seemed totally incapable of serving our cake: the catering crew plated it on random tables and as a result, probably 2/3rds of our guests did not receive cake, nor even knew it existed.

Similarly, there are some real mysteries regarding the space itself: we had been assured for months that the elevator would be working, but it still was not on the day-of, and our guests took a catering elevator that had to be run by an attendant -- it was not only an eyesore, but also not properly staffed. (The staircases between the floors were also wet, slippery, and pretty ugly.) Given that this is a wedding venue, we would have expected these and other issues to be much better worked out by now. But it was really the staff that was the disappointment: I would certainly recommend City Winery for your wedding, but with the hopes that there is a more competent administrative team in charge, and with the recommendation that you hire your own day-of coordinator.

Have a back up plan if you use the outdoor wine garden or rooftop

Part of the letter my daughter wrote to CW after her wedding. We arrive at the venue at 10:00 am, ceremony was at 5:00,

The sun literally blinded guests and the wedding party as they were walking down the isle (not looking forward to those pictures) Has this situation never come up during previous ceremony’s or events? We absolutely would have welcomed advice from CW in order to arrange the room to avoid this. Please consider this as other brides are planning their ceremony's.

Knowing the weather can be cold in November, one of our first questions was how the outdoor space would be heated. We were told there would be heaters. We assumed that meant the rooms could be warmed to a “reasonable” temperature to have an event. Although the temperature was not that cold the wind was brisk and as soon as we walked to the bridal suite my mother was concerned. She asked CW employees several times how they were going to warm the room. Initially we were given incorrect information about plastic being pulled down, then she was told there would be heaters. My mother asked for the heaters to be brought up early to start warming the room, wasn’t done. The ceremony site was also cold and although there were four heaters in the room, none of them were turned on prior to or during the ceremony. I even believe Brittany commented on why no one was sitting down for the ceremony yet, probably because it was cold without the heaters on. Knowing how cold the outside wine room and rooftop were, CW should have been proactive and offered a very reasonable solution to us. We could have moved a few tables around in the indoor wine room and have the cocktail hour there. Put ALL the heaters in the outdoor wine garden and open that up for the reception. Instead my mom spent the 40 minutes she was on the roof top apologizing to our guests for how cold it was. The bottom line being CW could not make the temperature of the roof top “reasonable” and should have known that early enough in the day and presented us with options.

We were originally told there would be a working elevator in place before our wedding. We understand that things happen or don’t, regardless we were told guests would be escorted to the service elevator for the ceremony. Most guests were told to use the stairs. It’s a lot to expect older guests and guests in heals to walk up three flights of stairs and we assume they had to do the same thing when they left. Even when Pat and I were taking pictures we had to use the stairs because the elevator was not around. Same thing when we left, hands full of stuff and we had to find someone to get the elevator.

My sincere hope is these are things future brides and families do not have to worry about.

HUGE compliments to the chefs. People raved about the food. I really wish I got to eat a little more. Do you all have a plan in place for leftovers?

The general space and decor on the individual food stations were simple but really added a nice element to the space.

Thank you for your support and hard work throughout this process. We really hope this information helps support future brides and families in their planning and event.
