Makeup & hair
The Chroma team did a fantastic job and I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! My makeup artist was Tiffany D and she did a great job. She always stopped and asked my opinion and I just so appreciated that! She was also personable and encouraging to me too. My hairstylist was Shayla and she did a great job as well. I loved my makeup & hair and got so many compliments. Thanks again! -

It’s amazing!
I never got my nail done in my life and getting my nail done for my wedding was always a thing in my mind, but wasn’t completely sure because I had no experience with it. But Chroma offered me a free bridal nail trial and I got to try my first nail experience ever– I LOVE IT SO MUCH! They even came to my place with no extra fee and did amazing job at my convenience. It was truly amazing experience. Honestly among all the bridal HMU and nail service providers, Chroma has been the #1 keeper. They contact me timely and kindly, offer me a lot of good trial opportunities– it is really awesome. I feel really thankful with all the kindness and amazing services. -

Fabulous team & service!
I booked Chroma Services via The Aristide Flower Mound’s preferred vendor list. They didn’t disappoint. The team showed up at the venue 30 minutes earlier than the agreed time and stayed until 3:30 pm-ish to make sure me , 3 bridesmaids, and my mom got our make up and hair done! I’ve been so busy with work, graduate school & graduation, dress fitting, etc. and I didn’t get to do a bridal make up trial. They were able to create the looks and hair do like I wanted and more! Truly amazing team. Michael has been available to me for questions/answers via email and text. If y’all brides are looking for great makeup/hair services, I highly recommend Chroma Services! -

Amazing!
I found out about chroma services through visiting an open house at the venue that my husband and I ended up getting married at. Tiffany was my makeup artist and she was so friendly and kind. She was able to help me with my makeup and give me a natural look! Tiffany was amazing on my wedding day and was so patient as I kept flinching during eyelashes. Chroma gave me the best service with a decent price point. Thank you so much!! -

Amazing and Patient Artists
Tiffany and Shayla have been an absolute delight at the hair/makeup trial and on the wedding day! They knew exactly what needed to be done and also knew what look to give my mother-in-law, even if she didn’t know what she wanted! They were both patient and highly skilled – they were very open to changes and made sure I was happy with the look! They made my mother look AMAZING – she looked she she was beaming. I was very pleased with my hair, it lasted the whole wedding day. Airbrush makeup felt very light on the face. Overall I am pleased with their services and would recommend to my friends/family! -

Absolutely love the service!
The level of professionalism was mind blowing. They are pretty flexible and manage to finish up with all of my bridesmaids (9) ahead of schedule. I love the positive energy that was maintained the entire process of setting up appointments and receiving services. -

Chroma did a great job with getting me and my bridal party ready for my reception. Our stylists Christy (hair) and Ashley (makeup) absolutely killed it. Everyone's hair and makeup stayed put even after dancing and sweating like crazy. They were so understanding and patient with people arriving a little later to our AirBnB than planned, and I cannot say enough about how much I loved working with our individual stylists. Ashley also went above and beyond and helped with lash and lipstick application on some of my friends who didn't get makeup services, and I cannot thank her enough.
The reason I'm taking off a star is that I think communication with Michael as far as scheduling could have gone a bit better. He emailed me the day before the event asking if I could provide selfies and inspiration pictures for everyone getting services. As any bride knows, the day before your event is spent running around doing last minute errands, and trying to text and wrangle responses from 6 people was not appreciated. I believe this could have been asked in the weeks leading up to our event when I had more bandwidth to deal with it (i.e. when I was finalizing services and paying). We were also trying to hammer down a schedule for everyone and we never got it totally resolved before the day. Michael was flexible and great to talk to leading up to the event, so I hate to knock a star, but it was an unnecessary stress that I hope was just a one-off and they improve their organization going forward. -

Horrible Management
Update: BRIDES, DO NOT USE CHROMA! They tried to bribe me to remove my review from all sites (The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc.). When I told them I wouldn't remove my reivew, they never responded again. They have however disputed my reviews and are trying to get them removed. Do not trust them!
Original post: The work done by the stylists are great! Shayla did my hair for my bridals and on my wedding day as well as two of my bridesmaids’ hair, and I’m so impressed with her abilities. My stepmom was blown away by her too! On my wedding day, she did two of my bridesmaids’ hair, my stepmom’s, and stepsister’s hair as well. Everyone’s hair looked fabulous at the end of the day even after everything our hair went through that day! Kaylin did two of my bridesmaids’ makeup, and both looked so natural and beautiful.
Overall, their prices were great compared to their competition. My only complaint is that Michael, Chroma’s man-in-charge, wasn’t always the most responsive. He was extremely helpful when I would be able to catch him, but I think he needs an assistant to be able to keep up with everything he has going on. -

I have been waiting for over a month (Since May 31st) for a 400.00 refund due to this company charging my card again after I booked and paid them for our wedding in 2021! I have called, left VM, and sent in a request through their website. I have only received emails telling me 24-48 hours I will have a refund & still nothing. -

I had originally booked Chroma to do hair and makeup for my wedding day. We scheduled a bridal trial on the morning of my bridal portraits. We scheduled, via email, the trial to begin at 11am to be done in time for my 1:30 portraits. This included a one-hour drive time from Chroma’s studio to my venue.
I arrived with my mother at the studio at 11am. The suite was locked and empty. I called the artist whose business card was displayed outside the suite. I received no answer, just a message that the voice mailbox was full. My mother tried to call the artist and received the same message. I called the number for Michael, with whom I had worked to book the appointment, several times. Finally, he called back and informed me that due to a technology error, the appointment was not in the 2022 calendar. He asked if we could do the hair and makeup at the venue, but the venue had an event and would not be able to let us in early. He wanted me to drive an hour back to my house to meet an artist there, but that would not have left enough time to do hair and makeup before the portrait appointment started. He offered that the company would do my hair and makeup on the wedding day for free - a nice offer, but it did nothing to help me in the moment. I was surprised that he would think I would trust Chroma to do my wedding day after this debacle. By 11:30, Chroma still had no artist at the studio and I had to start calling makeup and hair artists in the area, one after the other. I got a hold of Janet at All Dolled Up, who was able to fit me in. Despite the extremely late start, she and Kat got my hair and makeup done in time for me to only be a few minutes late to my portrait appointment. I was very distressed and upset, worried about the time and that I wouldn’t have my hair and makeup done for my bridal portraits. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a small issue, but for a bride, a vendor not showing up is one of the worst things that can happen.
Of course, I informed Michael at Chroma that I would not be booking their company for my wedding day and instructed them to refund my deposit. To my surprise, Michael texted me the following: “Based on the confidentiality clause in the contract, we ask for this to be an internal matter as we resolve this matter for you promptly. In keeping that no negative reviews are reported or posted to the venue, any other parties, social media, and Wedding Wire or The Knot etc.” I never signed a contract with Chroma, and I certainly never agreed to waive my right to speak about my experience or leave an honest review. I informed Michael that I never signed a contract or agreed to any “confidentiality” clause. Michael at first sent me only screenshots of a clause that looked like it had been picked out of a contract, but when I pressed for more information, he sent me a copy of my invoice. Apparently, in the invoice from Chroma, there is a clause wherein the client agrees not to post any negative reviews about the company. There is no signature line, and no place for the client to accept or reject the clause. I reminded Michael that I never signed or agreed to any clause prohibiting me from leaving an honest review. I asked him to have the company attorney contact me with a fully executed copy of whatever “contract” they allege we have. He kept insisting that the invoice was a “contract” and that I should leave them to handle the matter “internally.” In my opinion, Michael (as far as I know, a non-lawyer) was using an invalid legalese “clause” to bully me, a client, into not leaving an honest review of the company’s services. That is infuriating. As of the posting of this review, I have not heard from their attorney and I have not received the refund of my deposit.
If you have had a bad experience with Chroma Beauty, but have been told by the company that you are not allowed to leave a negative review, it may be wise to consult with an attorney about the validity of any such “contract,” especially if you did not sign it. I would encourage you to review the 2016 Consumer Review Fairness Act and the FTC website regarding the freedom of consumers to post reviews.
My experience with Chroma beauty was extremely negative, and only exacerbated by the fact that a company representative attempted to prevent me from leaving an honest review. I would not recommend this company to any consumer, especially to a bride. Weddings need professional vendors who are reliable and transparent. My experience with Chroma was exactly the opposite.
