My fiance and I were a bit nervous about taking engagement photos because we're both relatively camera shy. Chris really made the experience fun and helped us feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. -

Chris exceeded our expectations for our engagement session. He was willing to drive to all the spots we mentioned we wanted to go since we couldn’t decide on just one place to shoot. He also had so many different ideas on what to do during the shoot and we had a ton of fun doing all of them. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a bunch of different types of photos that we loved. I can’t wait to work with him for our wedding and see how those photos turn out! -

Phenomenal Wedding Photographer!
My fiancé and I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Chris! He is so easy to work with and we are SO happy with how our engagement photos turned out! He made us feel comfortable and created a fun atmosphere so we were able to relax and really enjoy ourselves during the whole session. I can’t wait for him to photograph our wedding day! You won’t regret booking with Chris!

Chris photographed our October 10 wedding and my husband and I could not be happier with the entire process. He was so awesome to work with, from the initial planning process, to our engagement photo shoot, to our actual wedding day. He does phenomenal work and is always willing to go the extra mile to get the great shots! I was so happy to be able to relax and enjoy the day knowing that he was going to capture any and all important moments! 10/10 would recommend!! -

Absolutely Incredible
We found Chris on The Knot and so happy we did! From our time talking, Chris responded quickly to the questions that we had and then set up our first meeting together. Right away we knew he was the right choice for our wedding because of how knowledgeable he was with planning and organization, making us feel less stressful. Our engagement session was such a blast and he made us feel very comfortable and natural in front of the camera! We can’t wait till our wedding this August! -

Amazing wedding photos
Chris photographed our wedding. The pictures were amazing and we couldn't be happier. He is professional and easy to work with. He makes you feel very comfortable. Talented beyond belief, acutely in tune with his subjects, a kind and comforting disposition, and a deft sharp shooter that changes lenses faster than a cowboy from the wild west, are just a few ways we can describe our amazing experience with Chris as our photographer on our wedding day. He is worth every penny and more. We will be returning to Chris for all future photography needs as we grow our family and life unfolds.
Just some background - - my husband and I have been together for 7 years and live in Washington state. We decided to return to Michigan to get married at Lawton Community Center. We both come from large, loving, and close extended families. Our 200+ guest list and large wedding party was a lot to manage but we could not imagine getting married anywhere else without them. However, planning from across the country was a nightmare. Our venue was beautiful but involved lots of DIY setup and planning. We were only in Michigan twice together before the wedding and so our planning process was a whirlwind of chaos and stress. Chris alleviated all stress on the day of our wedding and prior, our initial meeting with him was in May and he went out of his way to meet us at our convenience. He also kept us on track prior to the wedding to make sure we did not lose ourselves in the process. Many phone calls and emails upon his initiation, checking in, to ensure we received the photos we wanted and so that he could get to know us and our style/desires. He is quite intuitive and was the calm in the middle of the storm.
My husband and I are quite awkward in front of the camera, I did not take myself seriously as a bride from the start, and my husband has high expectations. Chris eliminated that awkwardness and exceeded our expectations. He took so many photos that we merely expected some “diamonds in the rough” to come out. Not the case at all. We have over 700 photos at our disposal that not only capture us as a couple and separately at our most attractive, happiest, and true selves, but also, capture the hilarious, poignant, sweet, and varying emotions of the day from start to finish. He organizes photos from getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and reception. His photos write the storybook of our wedding. A story we will not have to tell our future children, or try to recall ourselves, we will merely have to flip through the pages of our wedding album to provide the narrative, accurately and beautifully for the rest of time.
In the bride’s room, Chris was present without being overbearing or making us as women feel uncomfortable. We had a variety of ages and personalities in the room and Chris knew when to leave and come back without us even knowing he was there. He captured the shared love between my mother, stepmother, three sisters, maid of honor and cousin, and my two best friends with respect, dignity, and without editing us to look like airbrushed aliens, all very natural and beautiful. The groomsmen photos are wonderful as well. My husband and I did not do a first look, but I feel like I was in the room with the groomsmen after looking at the photos and missed nothing. Chris initiated a “secret” first look shot where we did not see each other but were in the same room. It is one of our favorite shots and moment from the day. Viewers of the photo can feel the electricity and excitement we were feeling. It was also a wonderful moment to share in our nervousness and anticipation of the ceremony.
For the ceremony, we were so happy we chose the package that provided an assistant for Chris so that there were two shooters to capture the bride and groom reactions separately. To see my husband’s reaction when he saw me walk down the aisle is surreal. Chris had the challenge of working with poor lighting as our alter opened up to the outside which sucked all the light out of the room and he overcame this challenge as the true professional and talented photographer that he is. We would not have known about this challenge from the photos unless he told us! We also had a lot going on during the ceremony, we had relatives singing and reading which Chris captured while capturing our reactions as well.
We immediately left the ceremony to initiate the portraits with our wedding party and then our one on one pictures. Chris quickly took so many shots with our wedding party, it is still mind blowing how he got all the shots and more with our large wedding party, in under 20 minutes, before whisking us away to the woods and train tracks to share some intimate time as newlyweds. This is time together in nature with him was the pinnacle of our day. We both are outdoorsy and laid-back people. His shots made us look and feel like models in love, sharing our new union in style in an atmosphere we belonged. I finally felt like the bride, I was meant to be. Not uncomfortable, not unnatural, just playing in nature with my husband, the man of my dreams. I only wish we could have stayed outside longer J.
But we had to return to dinner and the reception. Which was fun but not without hiccups in the chaos. Chris, again, overcame these challenges. Capturing the impromptu grace my brother gave upon my request. Multiple speeches from my Stepfather, father, our maid of honor and best man while capturing everyone’s reactions. As we enter into the dances, this is where Chris’ versatility between shooting styles is evident. We had a full dance floor the entire night and we could not enjoy looking through our friends and family enjoying themselves more. He stylistically captured the reception like a journalist at a concert or music festival. From the one on one dances to hair flying, dance moves and facial expressions that we all know are there but love to see frozen in time, to the sweet moments of my husband and I in a corner sharing a moment of stillness with our loved ones surrounding us, we could not be happier. -

Not only did he go above and beyond as promised, but he took beautiful photos that represented our unique personalities. Our wedding was perfect and he captured everything we wanted. Also, he made us feel important and valued as customers. I would hire him again for any photo opportunity! Thanks again Chris!

Chris was able to incorporate our suggestions and ideas with his own personal professional ideas making the pictures he captured unique to our "couple style". When anyone asks me for suggestions on wedding photos Chris is the only person I would recommend.

Highly recommended
Chris did an amazing job with our engagement photos! He went above and beyond to accommodate our busy lives, he helped schedule our engagement pictures with only a weeks notice. Chris did research about our location ahead of time so we were able to get pictures taken care of quickly and efficiently. He was more than willing to accommodate any picture ideas we had or wanted as well. Our engagement pictures turned out wonderful, we can’t wait to see our wedding photos after the big day! I would highly recommend Chris. -
