Wonderful Wedding Photographer
While it sounds cliché, Chris and Jessica were truly a dream to work with. From the moment they stepped into the venue, they were analyzing the décor, the atmosphere, and the angles that would create the dreamiest photos.
We had a large wedding party and family and Chris and Jessica worked seamlessly with everyone, including our two year old who made himself the life of the party. They moved graciously throughout the venue taking planned and candid moments that truly showcased how special our day was.
It didn’t take long to figure out Chris and Jessica were extremely creative and turned our venue, decorations, and guests into artistic masterpieces shown in every single photo. Not only did they capture details and moments but the photography itself was absolutely breath taking. They ensured the backgrounds of photos from curtain placement to light settings, would result in the most beautiful photos.
My husband and I cannot thank Chris and Jessica enough for their patience and professionalism before, during, and after our wedding.

Wedding artist
I have used Chris before 10 years ago for my family photo and when I was getting married this April I asked Chris and Jessica if they could do our wedding. I chose Chris and Jessica because they are very kind, compassionate, and hands down the most creative couple I know. I am an artist myself and I love the unique photos they are able to take. Trust me you everyone does the boring cookie cutter photos but Chris and Jessica take the time to get to know us and match our personalities. They were so easy to with that that I even forgot half the time my picture was being taken! I told my now husband the favorite part of my wedding besides being married to my sweet husband was getting our pictures taken as a couple. We laughed so much and had so much fun. I can’t wait to do it again because we definitely will be using them in the future for our upcoming family photos! Amazing work
My now wife, had used Chris and Jessica years ago for her family pictures and showed me their work. We did not hesitate to hire them. When we met with them to do a test shoot (in corroding Mr & Mrs sweat), they were absolutely wonderful in making us comfortable and having fun with the process. On the day of our wedding, they were great. They took absolutely gorgeous and artist photos that we absolutely love. They are so creative and their work is fantastic. Engagement photo session
Chris and Jessica were so fun and amazing to work with. The photos from our engagement session turned out so beautifully, they really captured our love. My fiancé asked if they could try doing a long exposure shot with to catch the traffic and then put us in it (pictured) and they were so kind to try and make it happen, it turned out really great!

Better than I could have hoped !
We had hired Christopher and Jessica to photograph my daughter’s wedding back in 2014 and I also have been following him on Facebook so I was familiar with his amazing work. He is truly an artist looking through the lens of his heart while photographing a story. Recently, I hired Chris and Jessica to photograph me. They asked multiple questions in order to get a feel for exactly what I wanted to achieve in our session. They both worked extremely well together. Both are very articulate in terms of lighting, props, style, makeup and atmosphere. I felt so well taken care of…I drove from Athens Georgia to Springfield Il for this shoot. They didn’t disappoint! I left their studio feeling well satisfied and heard! I encourage anyone who is interested, in having their “story” told through photography to do it! I highly recommend them both! They are fabulous,caring people as well as excellent professional photographers!

Absolutely amazing!
The only complaint I have about Chris Withers Photography is that I wish they lived with us so that they could capture every moment of our lives just as beautifully as they did our wedding!!! Chris and Jessica really went above and beyond for us! First, we got to know each other during our engagement session which was super fun getting to know each other’s personalities and quirks, then once our wedding day came around, it was like being around old friends again just having fun. Most memorably is the moment we realized that my dress alterations were incomplete! My dress had 9 layers and one had been forgotten to be hemmed, even had the sewing pins still attached!! But that was no problem for Jessica, with my permission, she precisely fixed that layer for me. Seriously can’t say enough good things. Great communication throughout the entire experience, professional, fun, energetic, just all around great people. And our photos are ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGGG!!! Can’t wait to create our wedding photo album to look at in amazement over the year to come!❤️

Chris and everybody were extremely friendly and super charismatic. But under that amazing beard is a highly experienced photographer and highly creative person. A Must Hire!!!
Chris and Jessica are truly amazing!!! My husband and I didn't get to meet them in person before the wedding. We were able to meet and speak with them via Facebook video chat. From that conversation I knew we had to hire them as our photographers. Their energy was so positive! Fast forward to our wedding day (12/31/19). Chris, Jessica, and their assistant went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy. Most importantly when I was upset and freaking out regarding a timeline issue, they calmed me down, adjusted what needed to be done, and found a beautiful place for our first look! We are so glad that we chose Chris Withers Photography for our big day and for our engagement photos!! We originally chose Chris specifically because we loved the creativity and passion that he has for photography! His photos are unlike anyone else’s and we wanted something unique, dramatic, and amazing. That is just what we got!! We would choose Chris Withers Photography all over again if we had to! Chris and his wife Jessica (who helps with a lot of the behind the scenes stuff!) were very welcoming, attentive, and easygoing. They were super helpful on the wedding day too! They showed us an example of a timeline of events for the day and that is basically what we went off of. They helped to keep everything on schedule and had an abundance of great advice for the big day! After all, they have been to many weddings and have seen a lot!! I can’t forget to mention their sacrifice for our engagement photos!! I wanted to do a winter themed shoot and they both were so amazing during the whole thing even though we were all freezing! wedding vs weather perfect pictures
Chris and Jessica took our engagement pictures and then captured our wedding day a few months later. The pictures turned out better than we could have ever imagined. They went above and beyond to capture every beautiful moment perfectly...which was difficult with the rain, wind, snow, and sleep all on our wedding day! (if rain on your day is good luck...we got extra luck on ours)
We loved that they truly wanted to get to know us before taking and pictures to see what was important to us and what type of personalities we have. Not every photo was posed and the true love and emotion was captured.
We highly recommend them and can't wait for the next milestone that we can have them capture!

I am in awe of the artwork Chris and Jessica create. They go above and beyond the call of a photographer and have an eye for detail that most miss. My wedding was 5/27 and the pictures I have seen are magnificent. There were several ups and downs with my day but in the midst of the chaos they found beauty. When I received the devastating news of my grandpa not being in attendance they did not hesitate to stop what they were doing and make sure I was ok. I could say thank you every day for the rest of my life and it wouldn't begin to touch the amount of gratitude I have for Chris and Jessica. Thank you both so much for everything.

Chris and Jessica are two of the most nice people you will ever meet! They did such a great job with our photos! The life style shoot and the wedding! We are some pretty laid back people we went into this without a plan really not knowing what we wanted or how many possibilities that were out there! They were patient with us and really helped bring our goofy fun story to life. Our wedding day ended up being fantastic because of the amazing photos they were able to take, they captured the day beautifuly! It ended up being 90 degrees that day and our venue was in an old historic building that had no air mind you, and they never complained once they were super easy to work with and kept everyone else focused and energetic through out the day! The one thing that I'm able to take away from my special day is the photos and I have to say it was well worth it! From the same day slide show that came with our photo investment that we choose it is safe to say that from what I saw there I will not be disappointed at the rest of the shots. It blew me and my husband away at how well the pictures turned out for the slide show and how fast Chris was able to throw the slide show together! They are just amazing I can not say enough good things about these two and I can not wait to get the rest of my photos back! I don't give them 5 stars I give them 500 stars!!!I would highly recommend them to every person I know! We are forever grateful to these two!!!!

We just got married on 9/10/16 and had the pleasure of having Chris and Jessica be our photographers. When picking out a photographer early on, there was no need to "interview" them or any other potential photographers. One look online at their amazing work and I KNEW I needed them to capture the moments of our special day. I don't regret it. They were amazing! They have such an incredible eye and I'm convinced that they can find the beauty in practically anything. Ordinary things that people would normally not even give a second glance to, they see it and create magic. Not only are they super talented, they are genuinely some of the nicest people I've ever met. Patient, kind, easy to talk to and work with. They like to really get to know you which I think is pretty cool. They shared a "same day slideshow" for our guests at the reception of some of the photos taken earlier on. Kind of like a sneak peak. They were gorgeous! Everybody was raving about them. I cannot wait to see the rest. I'm so happy with our choice and HIGHLY recommend to all the future couples out there. Chris is an amazing photographer. Him and Jessica make an amzing team and made our wedding day run stress free when it came to the photographs. They were very professional and organized and made the photo sessions a lot of fun.
Dorann and I at first were really nervous to get pictures taken, but chris and jessica assured us it would be a lot of fun and they would capture amazing photos. When we first met with chris and jessica they were wondering if we had some ideas where we wanted photos taken and dorann and i had no idea, so we said we would leave that in there hands and they came up with amazing locations and ideas.
Chris and Jessica really took the time to get to know dorann and I, so they could take pictures that described us and showed our passions. Their ideas and creativity were beyond what we expected and our engagement photos were amazing and beautiful. They created a friendship rather looking at us as clients.
I highly recommend chris and Jessica for any of you photography needs. We are truely blessed to have met two amazing people to be part of our special day and capture all the beautiful moments.

I've been trying to write this review for a few days, but couldn't think of the right words to express just how great Chris Withers Photography, and Chris & Jessica personally, are. I had the honor of meeting them several years ago when they photographed a wedding that I was a bridesmaid in. After working with them that day, and seeing the photos of my friends wedding, I knew that whenever the day came for me to get married, I needed them! Lucky for me, I didn't have to wait too long, and we booked Chris Withers first thing. Chris created a custom package for my husband and I, complete with all our must-haves that fit into our budget. They kindly came to Chicago from Springfield to meet us (as a couple) and take our engagement photos. We spent the entire day exploring the city, becoming friends, and taking incredible photos. When we saw the first one posted we were speechless. Chris can take a boring sky or dull background and make it stunning. All our correspondence from the engagement shoot ( June 2014) to the wedding (May 2015) was quick and easy. Between him and Jessica someone is available to answer questions, remind you of what you need to take care of, and help organize everything for the big day. Most importantly- DAY OF THE WEDDING! Words cannot express how amazing the day was. We had a HUGE group (23 people) and they did fabulous job of keeping everyone organized and ready to go. The best part was during the reception Chris & Jessica created a slide show of photos we had taken during the day. Everyone was stunned at how insanely perfect every single picture was. They actually ended up booking one wedding, and have several more very interested! Chris also made us a framed engagement photo to double as our guest book, which was unexpected and so generous. All in all, booking Chris Withers was the BEST decision we made for our wedding. I cannot wait to see the rest of our pictures, but I know they will be PERFECT!

I had truly planned on eloping when my husband and I got engaged, due to it being a second marriage for both of us. I was browsing through a friends’ Facebook page and noticed stunning engagement and wedding photos. I was captivated by Chris’ photos and went to check him out online. After viewing his page and slideshows for what seemed hours on end and looking up everything I could find online, I changed the entire course of my wedding. I wanted excellent photos, no I NEEDED excellent photos of my engagement and wedding. I decided at that point to go with a full blown wedding (engagement photos, wedding photos, ceremony, reception…THE WORKS)! I sent an email and anxiously awaited a reply thinking Chris would already be booked or he would be out of my price range. The moment he called back I was so excited, that I planned my wedding around his schedule. I realized the price is truly an investment into something I will have for more than a lifetime. Chris and Jessica are truly phenomenal at their job. I am a very camera shy person, and my husband is the exact opposite.. they worked with me to get me out of my comfort zone and used his goofiness to their advantage.. we have the best photos ever! Day of the wedding rolled around and I was getting a little frazzled, Chris stepped in and helped calm and contain my nerves & Jessica reminded me, I had them for a reason. Our family and friends loved Chris & Jessica too- everyone was comfortable taking photos, they even wrangled in our goofy kids and used that goofiness to get great photos of all of them. When we received our engagement photos everyone was gushing about how fantastic they were (I mean everyone from family, friends, clients of mine, and random strangers that would stop by my work). Magic! That's the only word I can use to describe Chris' work. From the first time we chatted with Chris and Jessica, we knew that they were the ones who would photograph our wedding. The awesome thing about Chris is that he truly listens to your wishes and makes sure that he is a good fit for your big day. I had plenty of questions for Chris when I first spoke with him. Surprisingly, he had a lot of questions for me, too. That stood out to me and I knew that he was genuinely interested in our story and our wedding. Had our conversation not gone as well as it did, I truly believe that Chris would have told us that he wasn't a good match for us. That being said, I don't know who wouldn't fall in love with Chris and Jessica! They have a passion for their work that is beyond words. Our engagement session was so fun and so relaxing with these two around. It was a perfect preparation for being in front of the camera on wedding day. As a nervous bride on the day of the wedding, Chris and Jessica stayed behind the scenes as they shot our bridal prep party and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Once my dress was on and it was time for bridal portraits, they got the show on the road and made me feel like a movie star! Make-up, hair and a beautiful dress is one thing, but when a photographer makes you feel like a Hollywood starlet in 20 degree weather, you feel amazing before walking down the aisle. They did a wonderful job helping to corral family members for family portraits following the ceremony and then got the wedding party lined up and ready to knock out a fun "edgy" session outside before we headed to the reception. Having that moment with our wedding party to just laugh and be silly together was something we'll always remember about our big day. Chris and Jessica made that happen. It was through high regard that my Fiancé and I chose Chris Withers Photography. We used social media to reach out to our friends to find the best photographer. We browsed through several portfolios and researched several companies. It was Chris’s eye catching creativity that made him the obvious choice.
Traveling from Springfield to St. Louis, Chris and Jessica found a beautiful local park that would be ideal for us. This was the first photo experience my Fiancé and I have had together and we both were very anxious. Our nerves were immediately set to rest as we met Chris and Jessica. The couple is extremely pleasant and friendly. It felt like we were walking in the park talking with friends. The experience was both fun and professional. These two creative minds utilized the entire park for the most amazing photos we have ever seen.

My fiance and I recently had the pleasure of having our engagement photos taken by Chris Withers Photographer. They are also shooting our wedding in November, but I wanted to be sure I took time now to comment on our engagement session before the wedding chaos begins (or heightens, I should say).
First of all, when three different people called me on a Monday morning (following a Sunday afternoon wedding shot by Chris) and said "Oh my gosh, Jaime. You HAVE to call this guy to do your wedding", I listened. I dug through my list of photographers and found that Chris had actually been one of the first photographers in Springfield to reach out to me when I expressed a need for a photographer. Silly me, should've paid attention! I spent about 45 minutes on speaker phone with both of them during our first conversation and instantly felt like we were old friends!
Chris and Jessica encouraged us both to "friend" them on Facebook, to check out their wedding collections and to read the blog on the website. As a Chicagoland bride trying to plan a Springfield wedding, this was very reassuring. There was no chance that I wouldn't be able to connect with them in one way or another at any given time. I could send a message to either or both of them on Facebook and have the quickest response time ever (I totally appreciated that when I had random bride thoughts about our wedding timeline).
They were also very flexible when it came to helping plan our engagement session. They drove about 40 miles to our family farm and took some amazing pictures in some of the spots on our farm that have always been special to me. Ask Jess about drawing in the dirt and stepping over raccoon droppings! They went above and beyond to make this a special day for us (including an awesome soundtrack for our time together). We were never uncomfortable or shy with these two. We laughed and smiled all day! The photos are beautiful and we can't wait to spend our wedding day with Chris and Jessica!

This was actually a fall family setting. This is our second time using Chris and his great fiance Jessica. We have never had any issues with timing although I know he is super busy. Our day started with rain and nerves but Chris promised we would have great pictures. So he is better at this than me. So we proceeded., and once again we had FANTASTIC pictures. They are both very professional people and open to ideas. Although he never stops taking pictures and the ones we love are the very unexpected ones. His pictures are amazing and one of a kind. These last pictures told a story of a very loving family again. His work is professional, beautiful and also very reasonable. We will be using them again.

Chris and Jessica are not only amazingly talented photographers but truly wonderful people. They went above and beyond for our engagement and wedding photos. The two of them have an ability to disarm any situation and make anyone feel comfortable in order to capture beautiful moments. Neither my husband or myself consider ourselves photogenic or at ease in front of a camera, but our experience was unbelievably relaxed and we could not be happier with our photos!!! I worked with Chris as a model on a photo shoot in St. Louis. Leading up to the shoot he was very informative and kept everyone involved up-to-date on plans and welcomed ideas from everyone. On the day of the shoot, the first time I actually met him, he was so easy to get along with, not that I doubted he would be! He made sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of and having fun. He is truly talented in the art of photography and has a great eye and wonderful ideas. It was a pleasure to work with him and I hope to be able to again in the future!

I found Chris and Jessica while doing research for Springfield area photographers for my wedding. Chris was willing to create a photography package that fit my needs and that worked with my budget. They were prompt in responses to my emails and phone calls, especially since I was planning a Springfield wedding while living in the Chicago area.
When it came to the day of my wedding, they were absolutely WONDERFUL to work with. They were completely professional and knew exactly what to do to keep people in line to take photos and continue with the day's itinerary so we wouldn't be late to anything. I keep hearing from guests I've seen after the wedding that Chris and Jessica were awesome and great to work with as well. I'm so excited to see how all of our pictures turned out!!

There are many photographers out there, but few can truly tell your story with the same care, attention to detail, and creativity that Chris and Jessica do. They are the real deal. And by the end of all the crazy wedding planning and sometimes overwhelming details, you’ll find you’ve gained new friends rather than simply wedding photographers. From start to finish they were truly concerned with who I and my spouse were as a couple and how they could best represent our story. I had looked for weeks for photographer who was not out to take a bunch of still poses and call it good. When looking back at my wedding photos I wanted us to be able to feel all the excitement and emotion of the day jumping at us, right off the page. And I am truly happy to say that’s exactly what we got! Chris and Jessica also went above and beyond our expectations when traveled to our area the night before the wedding to check out the site and scenery. They were even cheerful and upbeat though it was bitterly cold outside the day of and made the whole experience fun rather than painful (they were really good about knowing when it was time for a “warm up” break inside :) ). They put their hearts into their work and the creativity and passion that Chris shoots with is captured in every shot that he takes. After sending an email, he called me with more information, answered my questions and began brainstorming ideas for engagement photos. I was so impressed with his ideas, I had to book him. Chris is the best photographer in central Illinois. He did our wedding in 2012 and a few of our guest have already hired him to do their wedding and egagement photos as well. He takes the time and effort to get to know you and what you want out of your event. Getting your photos may take (a very reasonable amount of) time but once you receive them they'll be professionally edited and well worth the wait! If your photographer is returning photos to you within a month, they must not have enough clientele nor put enough time into compositing and editing.

Chris and Jessica are amazing people. I have followed Christopher's page for quite sometime and shared all of his and Jessica's work because they both do phenomenal work. The creativeness and look of the pictures they take and will continue to capture are stunning. Well one day I had a chance to win a session with them both and and I did, I was stoked! Chris messaged me with the great news that I was chosen as another. I was beyond excited, words couldn't express, I called everyone and told them of this opportunity I received! From that moment Chris was consistent with making sure everything was going to turn out fabulous. And it absolutely did. He took a corn field and made it beautiful in our picture, prickly weeds became a great adventure in our pictures, he captured the true love of myself and my boyfriend. The pictures came out amazing and his and Jessica's work is the greatest photographer work I've ever encountered. I will never have anyone else do my portraits, the only two who will continue my journey with my life of family pictures, wedding pictures and just any kind of pictures is Christopher and Jessica. Not only did the pictures come in a great time we even got muffins and a gift card, they went up and beyond. They are not only just great photographers but they are amazing people and I am so happy I had this experience with them and so glad I was able to meet them both. Chris and Jessica are seriously the BEST! they have far exceeded all of our expectations. As a young couple, we were thinking that we would have to settle for cheap photography. I (the bride) was searching online for photographers in my area and stumbled across Chris Withers Photography website. I fell in love with the artwork and creativity behind the photos. Every shot told a story, and the couples in the photos seemed to come alive through the emotions that were captured. On a whim I emailed Chris thinking that he and Jessica's work would be much too expensive. After a phone conversation, however, I was surprised and excited to learn that they were able to accommodate our budget! My fiance and I could not be more pleased with the result! Neither of us particularly like having our picture taken, but we had a blast during our engagement session roaming around Saint Louis and didn't want it to end. Chris and Jessica made it so relaxed and fun! Our photography turned out amazing and we were elated to find out that they had created a video of our session! (BETTER than having a videographer!) You won't be disappointed. Every penny of this couple's work is worth it!

Not only are Chris and Jessica amazing photographers they are amazing people! They were great with my children and were able to capture perfection which is hard to do with 3 kids ;). Chris Withers Photography deserves more than 5 stars in each category. Chris and Jessica traveled down to Tybee Island, GA from our hometown Springfield, IL to photograph our wedding. They spend the entire day with us and it was a phenomenal day! It was worth every penny of investment. My husband was completely amazed of the photos Chris took of us. I had seen Chris'work previously and he definitely has a creative eye and did a fabulous job with our pictures as well to last a lifetime!! AMAZING AMAZING!!!

As a flight nurse in the Air Force and a full time ICU nurse, a shotgun wedding sounded perfect to my husband and I. As I began to email every photographer in Springfield, Chris Withers responded first and was the ONLY one who had an opening and the time to return my calls. He spoke with me on SEVERAL occasions about my wants and needs... He met every one of them! I could not have asked more from these two. Christopher Withers is an exceptional photographer. Between him and his fiancé, Jessica, you couldn't ask for two better people to trust with your life-long memories.
A side note that has nothing to do with his awesome talent, but with his compassion and kindness: my wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor on 7/5/13. We decided to move our wedding up and planned it in less than a month. We were rushing to do everything the way she wanted. We had everything set but no photographer. Well, the cheap person in me said, "We don’t need a wedding photographer. all they do is take some photos; we can have anyone do that".
Well I will be the first one to tell you I WAS WRONG!! While we have only seen a few of our wedding photos so far, Chris did things with the pictures that made them amazing. The quality of his work shows his true passion for photography. He was very professional while taking photos, but also fun and charming. He also came up with many creative ideas. They were prepared for whatever came their way. Chris made my wife’s day by not only accepting to capture our special moment on such a short notice but also by taking that stress off of my wife. He was also concerned about her situation and made everything carefree so she wasn't overwhelmed with the wedding planning. He had everything planned out all the way until the last shot. Or at least he made us feel like he did.
Chris and Jessica are as good as it gets. Their work is phenomenal. My wife had been following Chris' work for some time now and knew he was the #1 photographer she wanted capturing all of our special moments on our wedding day. We cannot thank Chris & Jessica enough for helping complete our perfect memories!
We recommend Chris & Jessica to everyone who considers looking for a photographer no matter what the occasion may be. They are definitely the #1 photographers in our book!

Chris and Jessica were AMAZING. They were very accommodating of the fact that my then fiancé and I live in CO, but the wedding was held in IL. They returned phone calls and emails quickly, which I greatly appreciated since all of our planning was long distance. I couldn't imagine having anyone else there on my wedding day to capture all of the memories. Chris' creativity is endless. Jessica and he really took the time to ask what mattered to my husband and I so that our images came out personalized and beautiful. My fiancé and I worked with Chris as part of a Friend’s wedding a couple years ago and had been following his work ever since. He was the only photographer we considered when we decided to get our own engagement pictures because we knew the quality of his work and his artistic eye were second to none.
Chris and Jessica were very flexible and accommodating to our schedules and squeezed us in under a tight time frame and mutually busy schedules. We appreciated that VERY MUCH! We were both a little timid about being in front of the camera at first but Chris and Jessica were very nice to work with and they made us feel comfortable right away. While Chris has a very creative edge, he was also open to our ideas for the photographs. Our photos capture us as a “couple” perfectly!
As our photos are rolling in now, we are very pleased with how they are turning out and can’t wait to see the rest. I would recommend Chris Withers photography over and over again. Thank you Chris and Jessica for weathering the storm with us and for making our experience memorable!

Chris has a wonderful, artistic eye. During our photo session, we were in some awkward positions or he was at a weird angle and I just thought "let him do his thing, he's the professional." Those turned out to be some of the most amazing and unique pictures I have ever seen! Chris does a great job helping you loosen up in front of the camera so you don’t look so stiff and posed. He does an excellent job at getting natural poses. The quality of work is unbeatable. I plan on using them for all of our future photography needs!

Chris and Jessica were amazing to work with. I'm not terribly photogenic and neither is my husband, but they worked with us to make us comfortable and catch us at our best. We didn't do a "first look" and we only allotted a 1.5-2 hour window for photography between the ceremony and reception, but they were still able to capture some really beautiful photography despite the time crunch. They were flexible and full of ideas. They like to personalize photos to the individual but even if you're unprepared (or uncreative like me!), they are able to suggest locations and improvise a lot of different shots on the fly. They're very friendly and responsive to your questions or concerns. Thank you guys!

I found one of Chris’s flyers at a local gym, and went online to check out his website. We both really liked what we saw. His website was easy to navigate and was a great display of all his work. I fell in love with so many of the images he’d captured at other weddings. With just 7 months to plan, I sent him an email right away. After emailing him, he called me back within hours. Talk about service!
Chris was incredibly easy to talk to on the phone. He told me about his photography packages – and there really is a package for every price range and every couple out there! I was loving everything I was hearing. But, the big question was would he be available on our wedding day?! Sure enough! He was! Throughout the planning process, Chris was very easy to get a hold of via email or phone and always answered my questions and got back to me in a timely manner.
As our big day got closer, Chris and Jessica met with Kavilan and I in person to do some planning and preparation for our big day. They made the experience entirely about us and listened to everything we had to say. They even took notes so they didn’t miss any of the details for our wedding day. The coolest part about our first meeting was the fact that Chris wanted to take some casual pictures to use for a promo banner that he’d post at our reception. Kav and I were not expecting this, but the images from a 10 minute quick session turned out to be so neat! Within days, Chris created a website that featured these images and we were able to share those images and the website with our friends and and family.
Chris and Jessica were both amazing on our wedding day. Jessica took care of the girls while we were getting ready, and Chris handled the guys. We ended up with amazing pre-ceremony photos. Kavilan and I decided to see each other before our ceremony, so Chris set up a great “First Look” photo session for us. The images he captured when we first saw each other were priceless!

Chris has a unique sense of what works in photography. While I don't see things the way he does, I have learned to trust his judgement. Along with his fiancee Jessica Pickard, they continually impressed us. He always had helpful suggestions, offered unique services, and was reasonably priced. They put together a signature album for us that was amazing and they did it in a short period of time so we could have it for the reception. I am not normally one to write a review, but after working with both Chris and Jessica this past weekend at our wedding, I feel it's my duty to tell everyone about how amazing they are to work with. I've stood up in many weddings and I've never had a photographer so relaxed and easy to work with. Working with Chris and Jessica has been a wonderful experience. For me (John) it started in May when I decided that I was going to propose. I looked for a photographer in the Springfield, IL area and found Chris Withers Photography. Chris had the best reviews so I chose him. I am happy that I did. I decided that I wanted Chris and Jessica there to take pictures of the proposal and be candid. They kept coming up with great ideas. Although Chris is very busy he always got back to me, but sometimes it took a day or two. The day before the proposal, Chris, Jessica and I spoke to finalize the plans and to calm my nerves. I did not meet Chris and Jessica until the day of, just after I asked my future wife to marry me. I (Jessica) had no idea what was going on until after the big moment. That is when Chris and Jessica walked up to us and told me how John had this all arranged. Chris then explained how we would be going on an exclusive 2 hour photo shoot around the area. Chris had a few places picked out which were very beautiful. Not only did he direct us to find the perfect shots but he was open to our ideas too. Since the proposal any time we have had questions, Chris and Jessica have always been there to answer them. The pictures turned out so beautiful. The lighting was perfect and they looked crisp and clean. He added small details to a few pictures like our last name or a vintage look. I couldn't be happier with the photos. I highly recommend Chris Withers Photography to anyone looking for a great photographer. He is even willing to drive the distance to make your special day as perfect as it can be. That is why we are choosing to keep Chris and Jessica as out photographers for our wedding day.

I knew that perhaps the most important detail of our wedding day was going to be the photos that captured the wonderful experience it was. Chris and Jessica went above and beyond to provide that for us! Even staying past the hour we had paid them because as you will find out - Chris HAD to get a few more great shots!
There are so many photographers out there and while they may be great at what they do, I firmly believe there is a difference between them and Chris.
First of all, I found him via a web search because I wasn't sure who to use. I not only loved the photos he featured on his website, but he was the ONLY photographer who very quickly called me in person. He was so personable and so excited about doing our photos that I decided in that very call that we would go with him. Then we met Jessica. She is definitely the other half of Chris. She is just as wonderful to talk to and was very much interested in sharing how excited they were to work with us and she is without a doubt Chris's biggest fan!
The day of our wedding, they could not have been more amazing, for lack of a better word. I was a bride who definitely knew the kinds of photos I wanted and had sent many examples of things I would like to do. They not only did pretty much everything I had wanted but even thought of so many shots that never even came to my mind! They made my very chilly wedding day a dream as they shivered right along with us in the 50 degree weather!
Finally, I will say that if you decide to use Chris Withers Photography, you may expect a bit of a wait for your pictures because I know they are getting insanely busy because their reputation is spreading. IT IS WORTH THE WAIT!!! We love the photos and can't wait to see more. We also can't wait to hopefully work with them again in the future for our family photos! Thank you again Chris and Jessica!

I had an appointment 45 minutes away from Chris and Jessica. (he did not charge extra!) They were traveling to my house to do family photos. My youngest was ill that morning so I cancelled. After resting he was better so I contacted Chris to see of he'd still come and he said " let's do it!" That just made my day! He showed up early and scouted our house to find the best spots for photos. He wanted to hear our vision too. Him and Jessica were so friendly and professional. It didn't take as long to do the shots as I thought but he made sure to fill the 2 hour slot that we had paid for. He used every second trying to capture our family. He even did some shots I wasn't expecting and I wouldn't have asked for but I'm sooo glad he did it! He had my proofs done that week and my order was shipped the next week! I'll definitely be using Chris Withers Photography again!

Breath-taking
Chris and his wife, Jessica, are nothing short of phenomenal photographers. I am so glad we decided to hire them as our photographers for our wedding. From the initial interest conversation, rescheduling the engagement photoshoot, and dealing with the large wedding party/family, their communication was clear, understanding, and friendly. My husband and I had never had professional photos taken before, so -- needless to say -- we were quite awkward in front of the camera. Chris and Jess helped make us feel extremely comfortable and, more importantly, made us HAVE FUN! It also helps that the photos they capture are simply breathtaking. Gorgeous. Stunning. There are very few "Red Carpet" moments in a person's lifetime. Chris Withers provides this time and time again for brides and grooms, families, new parents, expectant mothers and the list goes on. He along with his awesome assistant, Jessica, have a very unique collaborative style. They listen and, boy, do they deliver! You will be very happy if you choose Chris Withers Photography.

Beautiful vision!
I knew the instant that I saw a friends wedding photos that I wanted Chris to be my wedding photographer. My friends have such unique and quirky personalities and Chris managed to capture them perfectly! His vision when you have no idea what you're doing and also dealing with stress from wedding planning was exactly what I needed. Jessica's input as a photographer and woman who's been through planning a wedding herself was invaluable. Their laid-back personalities also help when you're dealing with stress from wedding planning.

The photos in general are very well done and edited well. The turnaround time is quite long. Myself and my family used Chris for various occasions. He was always wonderful to work with. However, it took over 6 months to get back our photos. We ordered an album off of those photos and that took another 6 months to get. During this time we received no updates from Chris on the status of our photos or album.. Our family members had the same experience. If it wasn't for this long turnaround time, and lack of communication from the photographer, we would recommend him to anyone, despite his higher cost. It's unfortunate we feel we can no longer do that.

I used Chris's services for photos almost four and a half months ago. I just now recieved images. I am so upset with this situation for many reasons...the first being it was obvious that we were forgotten about. After my cousin's sister recieved her images without hassle or much of a wait after getting her pictures taken, I was still waiting. Oh, and I took mine three months before her. When I e-mailed him (four months post picture session) reguarding these images, I was lied to that they were in the mail. After repeatedly e-mailing him after they never showed up, I felt like I was given the run-around. He said that he had mailed them and was unable to give me a tracking number. A week and a half later, they were still not there. When we *finally* recieved the images I went in to look at their embedded dates and noticed that only FIVE photos were touched after we had them taken. The rest were edited two days prior to me recieving them...which means he did lie to me and they were literally 'rushed edited' and the worst part is you could tell. I'm so upset about this I could literally cry. I worked multiple days of overtime at my job to afford his services and I got shafted. These photos were not cheap by any means what so ever and I was so excited to get them taken and recieve all these pictures to send to family, hang up, and just enjoy. It really was not even worth it to use his services. I would never, ever recommend him to anyone.
