We were recently married at the Oxford Exchange, and Kim Yelvington of Chocolate Pi created our most beautiful and delicious wedding cake. She listened to our ideas for the look of the cake and came up with a stunning design that captured our thoughts. We had 3 different layers, and each layer was as delicious as the next. We wish we still had some leftover! We give Chocolate Pi the highest ratings possible.

We selected Chocolate Pi for our wedding in early November. They did a dessert table for us and a small wedding cake. I didn't get to try everything the evening of the wedding, but what I did have was incredibly tasty! Their dessert tables not only look great, but are a crowd pleaser. Many guests raved about the desserts. I highly recommend Chocolate Pi.

We had our wedding at the MFA in St. Petersburg. They have a set vendor they use for the wedding cake, and they could not accommodate my gluten intolerance. I scoured the area for a vendor that could make a small cake that was gluten free. Kim was awesome and said she would love to make a gluten free cake for our special day! They had some delicious flavors on their website, and I requested to sample three of them. Let me tell you, those samples were huge! They were mini cakes, and she even threw in some chocolate macarons. I ordered my cake right away and sent her photos of my vision. The cake was gorgeous, and I legit cried when I saw it. Hands down the most delicious, spongy gluten free cake I've ever tasted! Her shop is so cute too! If I still lived in the area, I would visit every weekend! Thank you Kim for the beautiful and delicious cake!

We worked with Chocolate Pi for our wedding cake and dessert bar and what a treat they were! My husband didn't want the big, traditional wedding cake so we opted for a small two tier cake for the cake cutting and to freeze for our one year anniversary and then offered an assortment of desserts for our guests. Everything was delicious! We had macaroons, mini cupcakes, cheesecakes, chocolate pies, oatmeal creams pies, dessert shots, etc. Not only was everything delicious, but it was absolutely beautiful! The dessert bar became part of the decor and fit our vision perfectly! We can't wait for our anniversary to eat the rest of our cake!

Let them eat cake!! We hired Chocolate Pi for our daughter's wedding and the result was outstanding! Kim is very creative and easy to work with. Our daughter opted for a tower of four flavors of cupcakes with a small cake on top, and four flavors of macarons. The groom requested petit fours and everything was picture perfect! The colors were perfect and most important of all, everything was delicious!! Kim knows what she is doing and her professionalism really showed. She actually kept me calm when the venue had tables in the wrong places. She assured me that it would look beautiful and she was right! (Thank you for that!!) I would highly recommend Chocolate Pi for any of your dessert needs.

Chocolate Pi did our wedding cake as well as accommodated our last minute decision to do wedding favors. Kim and team did an amazing job. She had us hooked at the tasting and afterwards, no other vendor even came close. Highly recommend Chocolate Pi for your wedding cake/favors as well as any every day desserts.

Chocolate Pi is the best bakery in town! We used Chocolate Pi for the bridal shower, Rehearsal dinner, and wedding. We are huge fans! We had the most beautiful wedding cake and received many compliments about how spectacular it looked and how delicious it tasted! Kim is a pleasure to work with! She spent a lot of time with me and my husband coming up with a design based on my vision and theme of the wedding. She was able to perfectly create a cake that exceeded what I had pictured to be my wedding cake! She also made an effort to get to know the two of us as well. It did not feel like another vendor contract being checked off. The tasting meeting was amazing. We frequently stop by her shop (about once a week) and had tasted many of her cake flavors, and we were able to taste ones that are not regularly out at shop while we had our tasting. I have never had a better tasting cake than Kim's.

We also used her for my bridal shower macarons which taste just like the ones you find in the shops in Paris. I have never had macarons like this in the states. She also created cakes in the shapes of our two dogs for the rehearsal dinner. They were adorable as well as delicious!!! They were almost too cute to eat!

Since our wedding a few weeks ago, we have stopped in a couple times to taste more delicious treats, and I love that we can always stop by and have a slice of "our" wedding cake to make any day special!

THREE WORDS: SWEETEST CULINARY EXPERIENCE!!!!!! Let me start by saying that I LOVE CHOCOLATE PI!!!! So unique and different!!! Kim (THE SWEETEST AND MOST RELAXED WOMAN EVER LOVE HER ;_0) and her team provided the most amazing and delectable dessert table for our wedding!!! Everything was incredibly beautiful and delicious too!!! Super professional and right on schedule Chocolate Pi provided the most amazing set up!!!!! CHAMPAGNE CELEBRATION!!!! I am so happy Kim has a location that is open 7 days a week and we can always stop by and get our wedding treats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DIFFERENT, DELICIOUS, BEAUTIFUL SIMPLY PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wedding cake is admittedly what I get most excited over at weddings. Obviously TASTE was just as important as appearance to me. Their raspberry cake was the MOST delicious cake i've ever had, fresh tasting with fresh raspberries. AND it was extremely beautiful. I sent a photo, and they recreated it even more beautifully. Plus they set out beautiful cake stands and towers of macaroons (my favorite), which were arguably just as delicious as the cake. Who wants pretty, fake tasting wedding cake? Can't recommend this company more if you're a fellow wedding cake lover.

Best. Cake. Ever. Seriously, my wedding cake was one of the most delicious I've ever tasted, and it was insanely beautiful. I felt bad eating it, until I tasted it. Then I couldn't stop. My guests still haven't stopped raving about it.

Cake is easily one of my favorite foods, so I wanted my wedding cake to be incredible. Kim is a truly talented baker; she listens so well to her clients and is able to transform your inspiration into a complete look. We had 7 small cakes for the reception and they all looked and tasted amazing!!

I have worked with Kim professionally for a few years now and when it came to my wedding, there was no other choice. When I first met with her, I decided to let her have complete creative freedom with my cake and she delivered... along with making an impressive grooms cake. Her flavors are delicious, different and she offers amazing mini desserts as well. No other bakery in town that compares.

Kim at Chocolate Pi made the most beautiful and delicious cake I ever have ever tasted. Her prices are extremely reasonable too, especially considering her talent. The one thing we have heard over and over from guests at our reception is how wonderful our wedding cake was. Thank you for making the exact cake I envisioned, I could not be happier!

Wonderful! The final product looked exactly like the photo I had given to them. Not only was it beautiful but it tasted amazing - just ask the groom - It was all over his face at one point haha. We are still eating cake... 5 days later (don't judge!) :0

We absolutely LOVED working with Chocolate Pi. Kim is amazing at designing beautiful cakes - we told her our ideas and she came up with some great ones as well and then we watched as she sketched out a plan. It was more than I ever could have imagined for a wedding cake! Very different and very unique. She even made the design match the pattern on our invitations! What's even more is that the cakes don't just look beautiful - they taste INCREDIBLE!!!! We had a small decorative cake for cutting - ours was Strawberry Champagne flavored - soooo good!!! And then we served tiramisu to all of our guests. We also did a cake pull with the decorative cake - it's a southern tradition where the bridesmaids pull ribbons from the cake with little charms on the end that have been placed in between the layers of the cake - each charm means something special. We dropped off all of the charms to Kim the week of the wedding and she took care of the rest! We got so many compliments on our cake and we were just thrilled with it! Chocolate Pi is hands down the best cake I've ever had at a wedding and each one they make is so unique and special!

What can we say, Kim is SO talented and our wedding cake and cookies were just UNBELIEVABLE!! Everyone LOVED the cake and the cookie bar, they were such a huge success and absolutely delicious! Kim accommodated my requests, we had several changes to the original design and without question she was happy to accommodate every request. We live 2 hours away from Tampa so Kim and Jade always tried to give us appointments during the weekends which are their busy days just to work around our busy schedules. Every cake we tried was delicious!! So hard to choose one flavor. If you're looking for the person to make the cake of your dreams, look no more, Chocolate Pi will exceed your expectations and you will be amazed by Kim's creativity and artistic skills. Also, as a science teacher (and my husband is an engineer) we LOVED the name of the company too! Thank you for everything KIM!

OMg our cake was absolutely spectacular. It was beautiful and delicious. I am not the biggest fan of sweets but during our tastings I wanted to eat every bite put in front of me. Kim is a genius. Her flavors are so cohesive and well thought out. We decided to go with the Exotica, the Chocolate PB and the Pear for our cake. All of our guests raved about the cake and i know of many who went back for seconds. Lets just say that there is no top layer left. We'll just have to call next year to get another yummy cake! I promise this will be one of the best decisions you'll make!

I shopped around and had meetings with several different Cake Companies and I knew after our very first meeting, Kim, at Chocolate Pi would be baking our cake! All I can say is WOW!! From the tastes to the tiny details it was ALL exactly the way we planned out, it was better than I was expecting. Chocolate Pi totally went above and beyond on our cake!! I could not have been more pleased!

Chocolate Pi is fabulous! Kim designed the most beautiful cake for our wedding with five different layers with an intricate design on each of the layers. She is very good at understanding what you want design-wise and, probably more important for your guests, the cake tastes awesome! We had three flavors vanilla bean, chocolate praline crunch and coconut. Everyone raved about how good the cake was. In addition she went above and beyond and make a family recipe of ours for the groom's cake which was fantastic! I can't wait until our year anniversary so I can have a piece of the cake!

We did both a groom cake and wedding cake through Chocolate Pi and they were absolutely perfect. Every time we would go for a cake tasting and even on the wedding day the cake was always consistently delicious and perfect. Not only was the flavor the best, but the designs and execution were out of this world. She made us a bulldog grooms cake and it looked exactly like our dog. The cakes really wow-ed all of our guests!

Kim Yelvington, owner of Chocolate Pi, was a delight to work with. Our experience with Chocolate Pi was excellent. Kim listened to what we wanted and delivered. Her cakes are all absolutely amazing. We finally selected a butter cream cake with raspberry and ganache filling. It was delicious! I described to Kim what I wanted regarding design and I was so pleased when I saw my cake at the reception! It was intricately detailed and beautiful beyond words. We love Chocolate Pi and highly recommend!

Words cannot describe the amazing job that Kim and Jade did with both our wedding cake and our groom's cake. When we first met with them, we instantly loved their positive energy and great ideas for the cake. I decided a little bit after we decided to use them for our wedding cake that I wanted to do a groom's cake for my husband and I was absolutely blown away. My husband is a huge LOST fan (tv show) and I knew I wanted something a little different, not just a big LOST logo. The end result was beyond amazing. If I could upload pictures I would in a heartbeat! I did not know exactly what I had in mind but let Kim and Jade know my husband's favorite episodes. They took the idea and ran with it and the end result was so creative and detailed that we were just is disbelief.

Enough about the great looking the cakes - the flavors are AWESOME! We decided on the "Champagne Celebration" for our bottom layer (champagne scented cake, strawberries, and mimosa cream), the second layer was a vanilla cake with amazing chocolate ganache, and the top was a special request - pumpkin made with fresh pumpkin! All were fantastic. We received so many compliments.

This team is extremely attentive, detail oriented, and creative. I hear they make great french macaroons as well! We will definitely use them again for any cake needs.

My new husband and I love Kim and Jade at Chocolate Pi! We were definitely needing someone that could think outside of the box. We were pointed in Kim's direction and once we had our first meeting I was convinced "she was the one that could pull it off"! My then fiance had come up with a theme of Hell Freezing Over and Pigs Flying, since we were together so long and I was convinced he was never gonna ask me to marry him. No other cake baker seemed interested in our ideas. Kim embraced our ideas and ran with them and our wedding cake was PHENOMENAL! From the minute people walked in the door, they were going directly over to the cake and taking pictures. Everyone was raving over how awesome the cake looked. Kim did better than we could ever imagined! It was perfect! And not only was the artistry on it beyond all belief but the cake itself was beyond delicious! Every flavor was so moist and delicious. The cake was the highlight of the evening, coming in second to only my red and black wedding dress!!!! I will be calling upon Kim and Jade for all of our cakes from now on! I can not even begin to express how unique and over the top Chocolate Pi is... I am so thankful we found them.

Michael and I were not your traditional bride and groom and did not want a traditional wedding cake and Kim far exceded our expectations!
The love of travel is what initially brough us together and Kim made us a 3 tiered cake of suitcases with replicas of personal items flowing out of the center one, our names on each piece and a globe sitting off to the side! I wish I could post a photo!
Our DJ and all our guests took photos of the cake! It was absolutley SPECTACULAR and so delicious! We took the leftover on our honeymoon cruise with us! Thanks Kim!

Kim is such a talented baker! I had an idea of what I wanted our cake to look like and Kim transformed that idea into reality. The cake was beautiful and exceeded my expectations. Our guests were in awe of it and everyone kept on asking who our baker was. They also raved about the cake...it was moist and delicious! Key Lime Strawberry is a must try. Chocolate Pi's service is impeccable and we can't wait to get our next cake from them!

My fiance and I saw Chocolate Pi on the tv show "Platinum Weddings." They are located in our area and we decided to set up a cake testing for our upcoming wedding. The store was magnificent and we met with the owner, Kim. She had several delectable cakes for us to try. As we were tasting, Kim spoke with us about our colors, clothing, invites, flowers, etc. All of this enabled her to create a few unique cakes/designs. We discussed our options and then she sketched the final decision and tailored it to our liking. It was amazing! We'd been to other cake vendors who did not do this and it frustrated us.

Chocolate Pi works within your budget and delivers above and beyond. The cake was absolutely breathtaking and anytime I had a question or needed to provide updates/directions for the day of/set up, Kim was extremely responsive and professional.

Our guests were in awe of our cake and the taste of our two different flavors exceeded everyone's traditional wedding cake expectations! It was so good that I hope to order a smaller version of our wedding cake each year from Chocolate Pi.

My cake was absolutely beautiful! Kim used a design that I drew and the one that my husband drew and combined them into a gorgeous cake. The cake tasted just as good as it looked. My sister used Chocolate Pi for her wedding and it was a beautiful cake too!

Chocolate Pi made my wedding cake for my February 20th wedding, and I was so happy with the results. The cake looked fabulous. I think it came out better than I had even imagined and it was really delicious- we got so many compliments about it!

I had several tastings and struggled with this part of the reception. Then I met Kim. She sincerely listened to me while I didn't know exactly what I wanted and she worked with me to create it. The cake was beautiful and absolutley delicious! One thing that was strange was the cake was fondant when we specified we wanted buttercream. However, if I would have known her fondant was so delicious I would have chosen it in the first place. Can't wait to eat our top layer and I will get all future cakes from chocolate pi.

When it comes to cake and cookies, Chocolate Pi has mastered it. Kim, the pastry chef and owner, is an awesome cake artist and great to work with. The flavors that she offers are some that I would have never thought to put together. It was so great to walk into a cake shop and have literally a menu of flavors to choose from rather than the ala carte choosing of cake, icing, filling, etc that most other places provide. My cake was absolutely beautiful and flawless in design, not to mention, as per my request, it was made with buttercream icing and NOT fondant. She was able to take a picture of the design on my dress and use it for the piping design on the 5 tier cake. The sugar flowers are handmade by her and are absolutely beautiful. The cake that she makes is so light and melts in your mouth. All of my guests were impressed with how great it tasted and everyone wanted to know which bakery I used so they could get their next big event cake there too! I also had her make my favors. I wanted edible favors, so she made cookies that looked just like my cake! They turned out beautiful and tasted amazing. Chocolate Pi will be my choice for future events and Birthday cakes :)

We had an amazing experience with Chocolate Pi! Kim is a true artist and is able to create a masterpiece that is both beautiful and tastes incredible! All of our guests were amazed with the way our cake looked and also said it was the best cake they had ever tasted! We had five tiers, each a different flavor and many of our guests went in for seconds! We hope to get another cake through Chocolate Pi soon! They also have other great desserts as well!

Chocolate Pi exceeded all my expectations of wedding cake. Kim does not compromise on taste or presentation; instead, she elevates both to new heights. Not only was our wedding cake beautiful - it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Kim was great to work with. During our initial meeting she really took the time to get to know us and listen to our likes and dislikes. The design she came up with was exactly what we were looking for! We received so many compliments about the cake - my favorite, "this is the best cake I have ever had." My husband and I had a small ceremony 03-09-08. We only had immediate family attend (17people) We went to Chocolate Pi and this was the best wedding cake I have EVER eaten before. We had a marble cake and the outside was white with light blue swirls and roses. It was delicious and worth every penny.

Kim Yelvington is so wonderful - such a talented artist and chef. Many people have made unsolicited comments about how delicious my cake was. One friend, in fact, said it was the best wedding cake she'd ever had. I highly recommend the Lemon-Raspberry.

Chocolate Pi designed a groom's cake for my daughter's wedding. Since my son-in-law likes to play poker I thought it would be fitting to have a cake made to look like a poker table showing a royal flush. Aside from looking exactly like a poker table, it tasted heavenly - exactly like it did during the tasting months before. It was so life-like that when I showed off some pictures some people remarked that they thought we actually had a poker game going on. The mango passionfruit filling was fabulous. We have decided that all our brithday cakes will be ordered from Chocolae Pi from now on.

I was having wedding cake drama and couldn't find anyone in Lakeland that I liked. I was nervous to have my cake travel so I hadn't thought about the Tampa area at all. Someone suggested that I check into Chocolate Pii because they had used them for their daughter's wedding shower, rehearsal dinner and wedding and recommended them very highly. I decided to pop into their bakery one day just to get a feel. They were so friendly and helpful and quickly set up an appointment for me the next week. During my appointment I was made to feel like I was the only bride that mattered. She focussed completely on me and made wonderful suggestions. She is a true artist and drew up the cake of my dreams in a short time. By the end of the appointment all of my worries were gone and I left with a booking for my wedding cake and groom's cake that were exactly what I wanted, exactly what flavors I wanted and the confidence that my cake would travel very smoothly. When I arrived at my reception, I saw my beautiful cakes and was beyond delighted with them. They were perfect. Better than I could have imagined and tasted unbelieveable!!! All of my guests were amazed at the look and taste and commented how they never saw cakes as beautiful as mine. I highly reccomend Chocolate Pii! OH, and their cupcakes are out of this world!!

Chocolate Pi was incredible. Our guests were amazed at the design and taste of the wedding cake as well as the groom's cake. Kim is very creative, easy to work with, and flexible with scheduling meetings. She also designed and baked our favors, which were delicious and eye-catching. So many wedding cakes out there are dry and taste stale, but Chocolate Pi's cake was moist, flavorful, and memorable.

Working with Kim was incredible! I brought a picture of the cake I wanted, and she helped us to make it our own! Also, the flavors will amaze your guests! Her cake flavors are not the norm, so they bring a great sense of flare to the traditional style. The whole experience was really fun, and seeing my cake at my reception brought tears to my eyes. Kim is by far the best baker in the Tampa area. She was the most professional and personable. I scheduled 4 different cake testing, and drove in from Orlando. I was sorely disappointed with the other vendors, and completely blown away by Kim. Her shop is so cute. She did exactly what I wanted, and then some. She took fabric swatches of the wedding colors to be sure to match the cake color to perfection. Everyone at the wedding was blown away by the look and the taste. All of her flavors are out of this world!! It was hard for us to narrow it down! We will be sure to return to her for any cakes we need for special occasions, especially for our baby shower. I HIGHLYYYY recommend her!!!

Kim always does an absolutely amazing job with everything she does! When we booked at Oxford Exchange, they informed us that Chocolate Pi was their exclusive vendor for the venue and we were thrilled. We already loved going to her shop, sipping on Salted Rose Latte's while indulging in all of her treats (their signature chocolate pi is to die for!) When we set up our tasting appointment, about 4 months out, Kim and her team were beyond accommodating. We walked in to her shop and immediately were offered a complimentary coffee (Almond Milk Latte, please!) and were seated at a cute high top table with a "reserved" sign. Kim met with us to chat and take notes of our cake inspiration/vision. We met with her for over an hour, but honestly, we nailed down all the cake details in the first 10 minutes. It was like having coffee and dessert with an old friend - we chatted about work, how we met, her goals and how her shop came to be, current design trends, and events - all while sampling her delicious cake! She had 4 samples for us to try (these were extremely generous portions too) and we landed on her Caramel Apple, but wanted another couple of cakes to confirm. She agree to make us some more samples and about 2 weeks later, we picked up a Pecan Praline and Champagne cake. We ultimately chose the Pecan Praline and it was amazing! :) When it came time for the wedding day, I actually had the opportunity to watch Kim set up and she is flawless! She takes the time and really cares how her creations are presented. Our cake was gorgeous and tasted just as amazing! PS: The pricing was under what we expected and we had SO much cake leftover, I was literally eating cake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the whole week following our wedding. :)

Kim is an extremely talented cake artist and her desserts were absolutely delicious! Our wedding reception was a dessert and cocktail evening event. The fact that Kim nailed the cake and bite-sized treats was so important to us. Everyone enjoyed the display and tastes! We LOVED our wedding cake! It was absolutely beautiful, and so unbelievably delicious. The guava & cream cheese was so unique, very Tampa, and our guests could not get enough. There was literally no cake left at the end of the night. It was also gorgeous - everyone was in awe of it. Even the fondant decorations, notoriously gross and inedible, were great - my younger cousins were sneaking them into ziploc bags and snacking on them for days! It was a little pricey, but the end product was great.

We were so happy to find Chocolate Pi in our cake search! We had done a tasting at Publix so we could see what kind of cake we could get on a budget, but we weren't wowed and they couldn't do the simple design that I wanted (they wanted me to pick from one of their pre-made designs instead). So when we came in for the tasting and met with Kim at Chocolate Pi (and saw her incredibly cute shop), we were so happy! She could make the design I wanted AND it wasn't as expensive as I expected.

We went with a simple 3-tiered buttercream cake with a croquembouche topper. Two layers of Framboise (vanilla raspberry), and one Spiced Apple layer. We had our florist bring extra eucalyptus leaves and roses for Kim to put on the cake (which she did perfectly!).

Fabulous design and an amazing taste at a great price... what more can you ask for? :)

The cake was decadent. We had Kim make our grooms cake and she did a great job. It was a giant Mahi Mahi (she has it posted on her website). The cake was very moist, too.

Hands down, they have the best looking and the best tasting cakes out of all the bakeries I've been to in the Tampa area! Kim, the baker and owner is very nice to work with and she got my vision for the cake exactly right!

It looked even better than I had imagined and it tasted amazing! We went with the key lime strawberry, the exotica and the chocolate with raspberry flavors. We also got a grooms cake that looked really awesome too! They were a little hard to get a hold of the week of the wedding but they delivered the cake right on time and it was fantastic!

I have to say that we have had many compliments on our cake, on both the taste as well as the creative design. And it really was beautiful, however, i guess it just wasnt what we expected, and maybe we misunderstood the design as it was proposed to us. Additionally our flowers i believed were to be sugar flowers and yet instead we ended up with fondant. But like i said, it was beautiful and very good, even if it wasnt what we expected.

Our wedding cake was excellent! The cake itself was just delicious (even the fondant which I've never thought was good before). Kim is incredibly creative and willing to make your vision truly come to life. The day of, while our cake was beautiful, it was leaning slightly. Given our cake was at least 3-4 feet tall, this is a small thing. The cake was quite expensive in my opinion, also (thankfully my mother-in-law was kind enough to cover this cost). In retrospect, I would have paid the money because the cake was so beautiful and tasted fabulous, but was hard to accept prior to the day of. At the end of the day, Kim's work is stunning and I'm so thankful we used her! (Our cake glowed between layers! --> Creative genious)

An amazing experience! Do the tasting...I say again do the tasting and then order your cake. I love to cook and there is true art in the oven at Chocolate Pi! I took in a magazine clipping and described to Kim the vision I had for my cake. I was blown away at my reception when I walked up to "the cake" I had wanted. She did a perfect job. The design was truly beautiful. The best part of the cake was definitely the first bite! It was incredibly delicious. I have had friends and family raving that it was the "best wedding cake they've ever eaten." People don't just offer those kind of compliments unless they mean it!

After many attempts to reach Chocolate Pi I finally made an appointment with Kim to go into the shop. The cake was awesome. I loved all the samples provided. We discussed, in detail, what the cake would look like. She even drew out a sketch. My cake design was very simple. The day of the wedding the cake arrived with no issues. It was beautiful and tasted wonderful. The only issue is that it wasn't exactly what I asked for. It wasn't a huge deal but was not what I wanted. I was still happy with the cake but disappointed with the attention to detail.

Honestly I was a little disappointed with my cake design. I showed Kim a picture of what I wanted (a three tiered square cake with a swirl design, chocalate ribbon around each layer with a bow on the middle layer). The chocolate ribbon was actually frosting which was supposed to be real ribbon. And the ribbon wasn't made of fondant, but the shiny frosting that I don't like. I'm not sure how that happened when we discussed using actual ribbon. Also, my cake layers were not entirely square, but a little rounded. I know that's picky, but I wanted square layers with sharp corners. But the flavors (strawberry shortcake, praline pecan and citrus trio) were so delicious that people were talking about the cake for days after the wedding! I would still highly recommend Chocolate Pi, but just make sure that you both understand EXACTLY what is wanted.

I don't really get excited about wedding cake, I had a few bites of mine and I thought it was nice. Guests on my side said it was good, on my husband's side the consensus seemed to be that it was too sweet, but isn't wedding cake supposed to be sweet? Chocolate Pi was the only approved wedding cake vendor at my wedding venue - I have a feeling that if I were more of a cake person I would have been more impressed by Chocolate Pi.

Pros:
-they made a non-yucky actually delicious buttercream fondant frosting for the cake.
-there were lots of flavors to choose from (but no green tea flavor...)
-my mom and grandma had a great time tasting cake flavors (I couldn't make it for a tasting myself)

Cons:
-it was really expensive and not (in my opinion) significantly better than other reasonably priced cakes that I've eaten
-I'd asked for a plain cake with non-fondant frosting (based on the previously stated belief that fondant is yucky) and somehow my mom got talked into fondant frosting with a kind of faux ribbon and button design. The fondant was actually a good call but it would have looked nicer without the fondant ribbons and buttons.
- the grooms cake didn't quite live up to my expectations, it was still very nice and I think my expectations were a little too high.
- it was very difficult to get in touch with the vendor

In conclusion - To me, cakes from Chocolate Pi weren't worth the $$$. But, I think the buttercream fondant is reason enough to recommend Chocolate Pi to friends (with big wedding budgets who want fancy exotically flavored wedding cakes).

Planning a wedding? Do not use this bakery! We had a small ceremony and ordered two cakes. We had no problems with our first cake. However for our big celebratory party a few weeks later, we ordered a larger (4-tiered) cake. Disaster. We had been in the store several times- spoken to staff on the phone- we shouldn't have had any issues. We had ordered a cake w/ bright spring colors and fresh fruit. We show up and are given a cake with big mauve roses. The chef didn't like the fruit idea and didn't see the need to call us. The cake was also leaning heavily- the clerk admitted this but didn't know what to do. Or care. The only concession we got from them was the addition of yellow roses. No one on management level ever addressed our concerns. This was our wedding cake. It was expensive and we should have received better service. We were really disappointed. I would never recommend Chocolate Pi to anyone. Maybe if we were more South Tampa we would have been treated differently.
