wonderful job!

Chez Alice catered our wedding in August. The entire experience with them was wonderful, from the tasting to the day itself. The food was delicious, we received so many compliments from our guests as well. It was an outdoor wedding and even with a tent for the kitchen all the food was served hot and presentation was lovely and most importantly, everything was tasted great!

The staff was also fantastic to work with. Paula was our event coordinator and she was absolutely amazing. She was there every step of the way with planning. Communication was excellent, she was always quick to respond and always had an answer waiting for me. She was very efficient and helped coordinate with other vendors like the rentals and alcohol, so I felt like there was nothing I had to worry about forgetting or missing. The day of she made sure everything went smoothly and that we had everything we needed all night as well as taking care of the rest of our guests.

Attentive and Thorough

Our daughter’s recent wedding at Strawberry Hill Mansion was perfect from start to finish. Our wedding coordinator, Nora went out of her way to attend to every detail and calm all our anxieties about the big day. When communications with the rental company broke down, she and Luzsaid what every bride wants to hear: “ I’ll take care of it”. The staff for the reception was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend the strawberry wedding cake. So many compliments. The venue was made even more perfect by gorgeous weather although we were prepared for Plan B. I would highly recommend the Chez Alice/ Strawberry Hill combo!

Great food, Great people.

Its been two weeks since our wedding and people are STILL talking about all the food (and the neighbors are still coming over for leftover cake)!

They're a catering company so lets talk about the food first: it was incredible (although I wish our wedding was longer so we could have more time to enjoy it!). I just finished the last leftovers of our stationary apps and they were AMAZING. I didn't get to try the passed apps, unfortunately, but everybody was talking about them... UNTIL DINNER! From the salad to the steak we were just thrilled with how all the food came out. Personally, the orzo was my favorite but MOST people were talking to me about the eggplant rolatini. Hannah, my wife, was most partial to the steak.

While Chez Alice is a catering company, they were also our partners in planning the wedding. Let me start with Kelly, who runs a lovely business with an open heart as well as the love and respect of her employees. Kelly probably dealt with us more than she deals with other customers and treated us with generosity and respect throughout. The true star of the show for us, though, was PAULA! Our wedding was not your normal wedding: it was long, convoluted, and complicated; it mixed old jewish traditions with the ideas of young, open minds... Paula was not only open to all of it, but she went out of her way to go over the concepts with me and research the traditions in her free time. Paul negotiated deals with rental companies and alcohol companies, and even made difficult phone calls to some of those companies when I decided I didn't want to use them. Paula was enthusiastic and excited about our wedding during the planning, and took care of us all through the night while simultaneously making sure our 213 guests were entertained and happy at the same time.

No event is perfect: I'm an event planner and I know that. That said, ours was pretty close, and there's no way it would have been to as good without all the hard work and LOVE that Paula, Kelly and the whole Chez Alice crew put into it.

Seriously... even our snootiest of guests were pumped about the food...

Chez Alice was wonderful to work with. They are thoughtful, comprehensive, and flexible. Everyone was so kind to me and accommodated anything I needed. All my guests said our food was outstanding. Luz and Kelly were wonderful to work with and they have a fantastic waitstaff and chef. Hire Chez Alice if you want the perfect food and atmosphere for your perfect day.

I can't put into words how great this company is! Amanda was amazing!!! She was there every step of the way from planning to execution and made sure my husband and I were taken care of the night of our wedding. You get so busy greeting your guests and making sure that they are happy you forget to stop and take care of yourself but every time I looked at our swearheart table there was food for us to eat and cake! She was amazing and would recommend them for any event! So professional and great people all around. They cared about making our day special, but most of all they genuinely cared for us as people. Hire them! You won't regret it!!!

These guys are a pleasure to work with. They really went out of their way to help us with every little detail for our wedding. Prices are very reasonable and the food was amazing. Chef Alice was amazing to work with. My first experience with them was through email, I was trying to set up a tasting with them. As I had never done this before I wasn't sure what to expect, however, the really put me at easy with their quick and friendly reaponces. The day of the tasting was great, all the food we sampled was phenomenal.

Once we decided to go with them our event coordinator Devin was on top of everything. Ma king sure every detail was exactly as we wanted. A few months before our big day we got an email from her stating she had taken another position and was leaving the company. I was extremely worried that the transition to another event coordinator was going to be messy, however, I'm happy to say it was such a smooth one.

Our new event coordinator Amanda was just as amazing. She made sure she was up to speed on everything and when we went to the venue for another walk through she made sure she had every little detail down. She responded to every email very quickly and was there whenever we needed her.

The day of the wedding, the staff was incredible. They served food and drinks with such quick and friendly service. Amanda was fantastic, she made sure we had everything we needed and was always asking us if there was anything we need. Her and her staff really did everything to make sure our night was the best it could be, and it was.

As for the food at the wedding... simply amazing! Sometimes you try food during a tasting and it doesn't taste the same the day of the event but that was not the case with Chez Alice. All the hors d'oeuvres were delicious. We had a mashed potato bar our guests raved about. The plated dinners were cooked to perfection and the mini desert bar, I barely got to eat any of it cause all our guest's couldn't get enough of it.

Overall, I would absolutely use them again without hesitation and I suggest them to anyone looking for a caterer that I'd really going to make sure your wedding day is perfect.

I loved using Chez Alice as my wedding caterer. They helped make our wedding (and welcome party catering) so perfect! They paid special attention to me and the groom, and my mom was a little sick and they even made her hot tea throughout the day! Great communication throughout the planning process, very accommodating and helpful, and delicious food. I was actually very nervous on our wedding day because the coordinator we had been working with had to miss our event unexpectedly and we had someone else fill in for her, and everything still went great! I would highly recommend Chez Alice to any bride or anyone needing catering service.

My family has been buying cakes from Chez Alice for a decade, so when it was time to buy a wedding cake I knew exactly who I wanted to do it. Chez Alice has so many different interesting cakes available, and they can do decorations as complex or as simple as you'd like. Matt is absolutely great to work with, and we got many compliments on how good the cake tasted!

We had never heard of Chez Alice Catering Company, prior to seeing their name listed as an approved vendor in The Prallsville Mills Wedding Folder, Stockton, New Jersey.
From the first (and second; then, third!) tasting at Chez Alice in Pennington, New Jersey, we felt not only personally comfortable but confident in our decision to select them to cater our wedding.
The staff did a remarkable job serving our 135 guests with professionalism, meeting our admittedly high standards. From the hors d'oeuvres and champagne presentation, upon guests' arrivals, to the pasta course and three uniquely-crafted final course selections, everything was as expected - exceptional.
Bar service, too, was a tall order, with Chez Alice servers serving all drinks on silver platters, with white gloves. It was a black tie, once in a lifetime affair for us, bringing only our closest family and friends from across the country, to tiny little Stockton, New Jersey. By each and every guest's account, the food and service were exceptional. Truly.
We would like to add that Chez Alice worked very closely with our florist, Barbara Henderson from The Flower Shoppe at Pennington Market, to create the elegant, candle-lit, ambiance of the room (including the Chuppah for our Judeo-Christian, non-traditional wedding).
Guests are still talking about the five-tiered, German Chocolate Cake, draped with cascading flowers by Mrs. Henderson. "It tasted as good as it looked," exclaimed more than one guest! The cake (yes, German Chocolate Cake!) was made for us by Chez Alice and left everyone wanting more.
As a complete review, we add one final comment. The ceremony was moved inside, due to weather, so the staff of Chez Alice Catering Company, had to serve our guests hors d'oeuvres and cocktails for an hour, around tables and chairs set up for the banquet of 135. Every detail was well executed by Chez Alice Staff, even the last minute, weather-related adjustments.

Devin and the entire Chez Alice team were a pleasure to work with! They were so helpful with planning the wedding and all the extra details that went into it. Devin was there to help answer my questions at all hours of the day and I really appreciated that! She made the whole wedding a lot less stressful since we were constantly in contact up until the very day!

The Chez Alice food is delicious!! We received so many compliments on the food and how great it was! The menu was exactly what we were looking for and they stayed within our budget too. We are so glad everyone enjoyed it! We even asked for something a little different, a hot chocolate bar, and they were so happy to accommodate it. That was also a huge hit and it couldn't have been done without their help! Thank you again Devin and everyone at Chez Alice, you helped make our day truly memorable!

Chez Alice was one of the caterers that our venue, Grounds for Sculpture, allowed. We didn't have time to do a tasting before we had to make a choice because GFS was changing its policy, so we went on reviews and the price/menu options. We were not disappointed, to say the least. It was a large wedding -- approximately 275 people. The managers at Chez Alice were absolutely wonderful to work with, they were very professional but also very responsive to our needs. They co-ordinated with the staff at GFS and the rental company. They met with us several times to make sure we were all on the same page, and it was always fun. And, most importantly, the food they served was delicious -- we got rave reviews from our guests. In fact, we are still hearing how wonderful the food was, the appetizers, the buffet, the desserts, the wedding cake. If you want to have the best, go with Chez Alice!

The Chez Alice staff were uniformly professional, helpful, and friendly. They helped make a wonderful day even more pleasant. Devin was very helpful in planning the event, and Nancy who was the onsite coordinator was unflappable throughout. The hors d'ouveres they served were excellent, as was the cheese table. The cake was delicious. Ordering it was the easiest thing we've done during wedding planning. The delivery was free to our venue. We ordered plain white sponge cake to allow our florist to decorate it. The filling had two types of mousse; chocolate and berries. It was the most delicious cake I have ever tried! It was much tastier than the samples in the cafe. It was not too sweet or too fatty. Just perfect balance of texture and flavor! We saved the top, but we ate it right after we came back from the honeymoon. We were dreaming about that cake! We will be ordering the same one for all our future anniversaries:)

Chez Alice catering was absolutely wonderful to work with. The food is amazing and we loved that they also offered an Indian chef to provide an international cuisine. Through the entire year of planning Devin was always quick to respond to any questions I had, and always had good ideas to help make the day perfect. Last September Chez Alice served as the caterer for my daughter's wedding at the Prallsville Mills in Stockton. Everything went beautifully: the guests commented again and again that the food was interesting and delicious and the service deft and friendly. For many guests, it was a first visit to New Jersey, and Chez Alice showed them the best! The day followed months of consulting, which also had been a wonderful experience. We had had a rough idea of what we wanted, rather impressionistically expressed, and an excess of ideas from family and friends. Kelly Hamdan, the owner, divined what we were hoping for and created a festive progression of both traditional and contemporary dishes that perfectly suited a warm fall day in the country. Jean Butcher, the events coordinator, managed the logistical and other tasks with serenity, and managed us, enthusiastic but a bit overwhelmed, with gentle encouragement and suggestions. It was great fun, and we wish them many, many more years of success!

Kelly, Devin and the rest of the Chez Alice team made our wedding party one to remember. The food was fabulous and the servers and chefs were extremely responsive to our guest the day of the event. We worked with Chez Alice for our wedding at Hopewell Valley Vineyards and were very happy with their service. The food was wonderful. They helped us put together a pescatarian menu and had vegan and Kosher options for individuals. Our guests were thrilled with the mashed potato martini bar and the frasier cake. We also added to the regular menu pre-ceremony lemonade and peach iced tea and French macarons as favors. The vineyard served wine and non-alcoholic drinks which we provided.

We were especially grateful for the help in keeping our timeline on the wedding day. Jean was our event coordinator. She happily queued the DJ to start our ceremony and fetched us when it was time to cut the cake. She made sure that my husband and I received drinks, food and cake without interrupting us from visiting with our guests.

Chez Alice took care of all of the setup and tear-down. We simply dropped off the centerpieces, flower arrangements, guest book, etc. with notes about where to put them and they took care of the rest. They placed our rental order for us and at the end of the night they collected the rental items and packed them up - we didn't have to touch a thing. This was extremely helpful!

Our email communication leading up to the event could have been a little better. We felt like a couple of the messages or conversations that we had with one staff member didn't transfer to the next person that we talked with. In particular we had discussed using our venue's kitchen instead of a cooks tent, and found it later added to our rental list. Chez Alice ended up working without it in order to help us meet or budget, which was very helpful. We were particularly grateful when they had to run through the rain while setting up for the ceremony (fortunately the rain stopped before the reception). Once Jean became our day-of coordinator and we had a single point of contact, we felt the communication issues disappeared.

Amazing...everything I had intuitively felt about Chez Alice from the moment they answered the phone and congratulated me on the recent engagement (the first vendor to do so!). This was not an easy venue to have a wedding. Add to this, the weather was not very good. An outside wedding at 50 degrees, is a challenge. Chez Alice made it work. Working in what I would call not idea catering conditions their team gave us a great wedding. They deserve 10 stars for flexibility.

Starting with the first time we met with Kelly and Jean, the advice was always incredibly helpful. They have so much expertise and were so patient and responsive- working with them was one of the best parts of wedding planning.

On top of that, the food was amazing, especially the desserts. It was festive and autumnal and delicious, everything we were hoping for. I keep on hearing from guests that it is the best wedding food they've ever had!

The food, the service, the clean up - perfection! Everyone told me how great the food was. My daughter wanted her wedding to have family style service on mixed, unmatched china but elegant. Could she have asked for anything more? It was perfect! They mixed the china so it really did look like grand moms house and the family style was perfect! Plated entree and family style side did make it easy for everyone to start talking . The service could not have been better. The cocktail hour had to be relocated to a barn area and they took it in stride - the rain created mud and the entire staff helped to spread hay to keep people out of the mud. My son is in the industry and was very impressed that the bartender actually researched the hand selected and unusual beers and wines and cocktails we asked him to serve. The staff was never intrusive - they were there when they were needed and anticipated every desire we had. The food was perfection and plenty of food for the guests - they replenished the sides frequently and I heard when one guest - who had been shuttling people to the reception site asked if there was another entree available because it was just so good and after all his work he was hungry again they provided it without even blinking. Everything was perfect - Kelly is GREAT and Jean is wonderful - they had a lot of curveballs to set this up and they met each one with grace and saw it to a wonderful, glorious celebration. The wedding cake was the best I've ever tasted. We had a chef as a guest and even he said the cake was the best he'd ever had at a wedding. Thank you Chez Alice - everyone there!

Not sure what else to say that hasn't already been said about the amazing team at Chez Alice. We hired Chez Alice to cater our wedding at a very rustic venue. The food was absolutely delicious. But what really set them apart was the service the day of. Chez Alice's team really knew how to deal with the surprises and things we didn't account for. Chez Alice was great!! I felt at ease and confident that the wedding would turn out great from the moment that I first contacted them. Amanda was our event coordinator and I really could not say enough great things about her. She was friendly, easy to talk to, listened to everything I wanted and was very responsive. I like to be in control and it sometimes makes me nervous to hand over the reins to someone, but for our wedding, I was not worried or stressed AT ALL. I knew she understood my vision and would execute it perfectly - and she did!! I walked into the venue and was so excited that it turned out even better than I had imagined. Chez Alice helped me through every step of the way. They went above and beyond typical catering services to make sure that our day went perfectly. The staff was great, and my guests loved their bartenders! They had such a great time chatting with them. And of course, last but not least, the food was delicious!! We got so many compliments on how yummy everything was. I was definitely a bride on a budget and the food and cake were amazing. I would definitely recommend this company to friends or use them again in the future. Thanks again Chez Alice!

Jean and Kelly were the most loving and amazing people. They made my wedding planning experience very enjoyable... The food taste amazing. It was honestly the best "wedding" food I've ever had. Made the event simply wonderful, we had a smaller wedding at home, catered and hosted with this team, everyone found the food great, the staff were incredibly warm and easy to work with, very tentative with our friends, circulating food, drinks and clearing up. Friends and family have spoken of it all week!

We certainly look forward to a follow-up event with Chez Alice's team.

One of the most important things to us when it came to planning our wedding was that our guests enjoy themselves - that they eat a great meal in a great atmosphere. The food that Chez Alice provided for us was so good that we're still hearing now, three months later, about how great that food was.

It wasn't just the food that was wonderful though! Kelly worked tirelessly with us on the menu to customize it to our personal preferences and budget. Amanda, the day of coordinator took amazing care of us, was always available for anything we needed, went out of her way to help us, and found us amazing vendors for things like music, linens, and alchohol. We had a lot of DIY decorations and details for the event, and Amanda took care of making the Elk's Lodge look beautiful, going above and beyond to arrange everything we handed off to her to look absolutely beautiful.

Our day was perfect, and it was only perfect because of how much Chez Alice and Amanda did for us. We can't wait for an excuse to use them again!

Planning a wedding is a very overwhelming experience. Thanks to everyone at Chez Alice, especially Jean and Kelly, my wedding was filled with wonderful (and tasty) moments. Everyone is STILL talking about the food (and I am really missing the mashed potato bar)! Besides helping us to keep within our budget, Chez Alice provided us with gorgeous and delicious stations of food (it was a cocktail reception) and butlered trays. Every detail was planned - including the deliciously-smelling hot apple cider for our guests to enjoy during our outside ceremony. Chez Alice even set up our very heavy favors (books) and our crazy ideas for centerpieces with a sense of artistry that I never knew could exist at a wedding reception. Thanks to Chez Alice and their eye for organization, the reception venue was transformed into an ethereal, magical place where our guests were able to relax, eat, drink and be merry.
As a bride, you never get to enjoy your food. But this wasn't so with Chez Alice. I was being checked on constantly to make sure I ate enough and I was taking time to enjoy my wedding. I am so grateful to them for providing me with a reality that went beyond my early bridal visions.

Kelly is fantastic and great to work with. She was super helpful with our menu planning and really understood what we were going for in terms of serving (open stations).
The food is amazing!!!! Everyone kept talking about how fun and delicious every item was. From cocktail hour to the main meal - everything was a hit!!
Amanda was our wedding coordinator and I cannot express how fabulous she is. Truly an amazing person. She was there every step of the way helping me plan and organize the reception. From emails, to phone calls and texts she was always there to answer a question, go over an idea or thought, and even to lend an ear when I had wedding stress. I knew on the day of our weeding everything was in good hands and I had not a worry in mind. When we arrived at the reception, Amanda invited us into the ballroom to view and take in the room. It was a beautiful moment to breathe and enjoy a few quiet moments as a brand new Mr & Mrs. She shortly came back with drinks and a couple plates of cocktail hour goodies for us to indulge in, just he and I. I have to say, marrying my love was the best part of my day, followed by that quiet moment, thanks to Amanda. The room was also decorated beautifully.... she really brought my vision to life.
Amanda was always close by during the reception, bringing us a drink, checking in with us and kept everything running smoothly.
Everyone at Chez Alice is amazingly fantastic! They even packed everything up at the end of the night and helped us get it all into the proper cars.
I could go on and on (obviously)!!!! Check them out, you'll fall in love at first bite and it just gets better.

I found this caterer to be very easy to work with, especially since I was planning this from out of the state. In addition we needed to co-ordinate with the groom's family as well as the bride and groom. Much of my part was handled by e-mail in a very timely manner. The wedding was beautiful, the food delicious and because of the planning everything went as planned.

I don't know where to begin...the cake was the best cake I have ever eaten! We ordered the black and white cake and ordered with ribbon on each tier and a floral cake topper. It was beautiful and delicious!

Although we brought the top tier of the cake home "to freeze", we have already eaten it. It was that good!

Jean Butcher was our Coordinator and she was wonderful from our first meeting. Always responded right away to emails, even when my questions were about miniscule details. On the day of the wedding she was graceful, professional, calm & cool. She kept bringing me plates of lovely food with a wink and a smile!! My son told me the appetizers were great. The salmon was lovely. My new husband said the steak was good. We had the haricots verts with carrots. I thought maybe my guests would not be impressed that we ordered "plain old veggies", but believe me, they are not "plain old veggies"!! Where'd they get those beans?! They're like 5 - 6 inches long! And the risotto....ahhhhh, I must have more. Wish I could have eaten better, but I was too excited and tipsy. Oh, Jean also took care of EVERYTHING with the liquor people, a big load off my mind cause I am not really a drinker. Regarding the cake, plan to put some flowers either on it or around it. We put the bouquets around it, but before that it looked lonely. All in all - - choose Chez Alice!! You will be happy and your guests will rave.

Picking a caterer was no small decision for us. First, we were planning everything from across the country, and would only be able to meet in-person once before the date, and second, my husband is severely gluten intolerant, so we needed to be sure he would get through the big day without worrying about the food. After reading reviews, we contacted Chez Alice, and were extremely pleased to find we could create a menu from scratch, and note the need for gluten free options for the two of us, all while keeping a budget in mind.

Jean helped us through the entire process, from picking out rentals to figuring out the final floorplan, and even contacted our other venders (cupcake baker, DJ, etc) to make sure they did not have any questions or specific needs. And when the day finally came, we were blown away with the exceptional waitstaff, and how attentive they were to the needs of all the guests. Particularly for the two of us- bringing hors d'oeurve, drinks, and food to the table, which was the only reason we had time to eat!

Chez Alice made our day amazing. Kelly helped us create a unique menu that was totally delicious and completely us. She was very flexible and allowed us to do everything we wanted. On our wedding day, the food was delicious, prompt, and abundant. No one was left waiting for food, and everything everyone had was delicious. Also, our wedding cake was absolutely stunning. It was a chocolate cake with a raspberry filling, AMAZING!

Jean helped coordinate many things food related such as rentals. She was great throughout the process and really made our lives easier. On the day, she was constantly keeping a pulse of things to make sure all our guests were happy.

Our cake needed to be small, only feeding about 10 people. I wanted a 2 tier cake so we could save the top half for our 1 year anniversary. They listened to what I needed and made me a beautiful cake, but the best part is the incredible freshness and taste. The triple chocolate mousse is to die for.
I highly recommend Chez Alice for all your cake needs.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Chez Alice! Kelly and Jean thought of every detail and were both a tremendous help in the planning process and execution of the wedding itself. They even offered their collection of vintage tea cups for my tea table. The food is absolutely delicious. We were so glad we chose Chez Alice to cater our wedding! Kelly and Jean were so welcoming and very responsive. In fact, we knew they were going to be good after they replied to our preliminary e-mail. They responded promptly and thoroughly to all of our questions... unlike other catering companies which sent us an automated e-mail. They were also very easy to work with, helped us stay within our budget, had great suggestions, and were patient with our never-ending questions (even up till the last few hours). Jean was our day-of coordinator and made sure everything went as planned. After the ceremony she came over with drinks and a big plate of hors d'oeuvres, knowing we'd be hungry! And talk about the food! We loved that it is a local vendor and everyone said they really enjoyed the food... even the difficult to please family friends and some elderly relatives! We had a "chic picnic" wedding at Mountain Lakes House in Princeton and did most of the planning from France where we live. We could have made things easier on ourselves by choosing a wedding package somewhere, but we wanted something unique and personal. We thus chose a venue that would allow to customize our wedding, down to the smallest details. Only thing is: try dealing with that from 4000 miles away! Enter Chez Alice. From our 1st meeting with Kelly & Jean, we sensed we had found the perfect caterer-coordinator to help us pull it off: the food we tasted was delicious, and we got the sense they understood and were excited by our vision. Our experience over the next 7 months only confirmed that sense. Kelly & Jean were always available with advice, reminders, and reassurance, making sure we had everything we needed. When the Big Day finally came, we had a huge thunderstorm about 2 hours before the event. While we were busy stressing, the Chez Alice staff were busy finding solutions to make the day work under less-than-ideal circumstances. In the end, no one noticed that our original vision had changed slightly, and the day went off seamlessly: we were free to mingle, laugh, take pictures, and enjoy our day, while the Chez Alice team took care of everything else. They even made sure we were regularly hydrated and nourished! And how did the guests like the food? As many told us: "This is the best wedding food we have ever had!" From the varied cocktail spreads and hors d'oeuvres to the succulent roast pig with fig chutney and the fantastic cupcakes and gelatos (with chunks of real fruit), our guests were bowled over by how good the food was. If they hadn't already licked the platters clean, they would surely have asked for doggie bags. In sum: having Chez Alice cater and help coordinate our wedding was perhaps the single best decision we made in the whole wedding-planning process. A well-deserved score of 5/5!

We could not say enough good things about Chez Alice Catering. They called us right back when we contacted them, scheduled to meet with us, and listened to what we had in mind, as well as offered more ideas for us to consider. We were given some food samples all of which were amazing. Kelly the owner was very comfortable and easy to work with, and very professional to deal with, and also had her manager, Amanda who was with us every step of the way, and helped us beyond the catering but with our entire event with coordination of other aspects of our wedding. On our special day, Kelly was there to make sure everything was taken care of, Amanda all day making sure things ran smoothly as well from the chair coverings to our presents being put in our car after. There was a whole staff in the kitchen and servers which were all very professional and friendly as well, and the food which is what we originally contacted Chez Alice Catering about, excellent is the best word I can come up with but even excellent does not do justice to just how great all the food was and all the great compliments from all our guest about the food and service received. Chez Alice took all the worrying away and let us truly just enjoy our special day and many thanks to everyone at Chez Alice for doing so.

From start to finish, the staff was always there to lend a helping hand and provide exceptional service. Serving both as our event planners and caterers, Jean & Kelly ensured everything was in order; not only with their staff, but with all our other vendors and all of our guests. The cake was delicious, and looked amazing. I gave them a photo from a magazine, and it looked exactly like the photo. Plus, they don't charge for delivery to select venues that they work with often, such as my venue, the Cranbury Inn. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with Chez Alice catering. The people were very nice and easy to communicate with, and the food was terrific, from the appetizers to the dessert. Chez Alice was the perfect choice for the wedding my husband and I had in mind. They were very quick to respond to our initial request for information and that excellent customer service continued even after the event was finished. Since the wedding, family and friends constantly tell us how delicious the food was. The beef stew and chicken pot pie are not usual choice for a large gathering, but were both the shining stars of the night. I would definitely recommend both for any event! The chutneys and different spreads that went along with the turkey and roast pork complimented the meats perfectly. Our appetizers were fresh and consistently replenished to the guests delight. Quite simply put, the food was delectable and perfect in every way.
Jean and the staff of the day of the event were helpful, polite and excited which really set the tone for the night. I was not worried or concerned, because Jean and her team were so on top of everything. In fact, she would remind me of things that I had forgotten and take care of them immediately. I really felt like we weren't just another couple getting married, but that we were special and that Chez Alice wanted to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams.
Chez Alice was worth every penny and I will recommend Chez Alice to anyone looking for food & service that is beyond exceptional.

Everything about Chez Alice was WONDERFUL. Kelly and Jean did an amazing job for us and were incredible throughout the entire process. Throughout the 8-9 months of planning they listened to every thought/idea/desire we had and pulled all the stops for us. They were flexible with our budget and really understood what we wanted/needed. The food was delicious and everything was on time, on point, and lovely. Jean was so attentive the day of and I think I'm one of the few brides who can say that I actually got to eat a good deal on my wedding day. I can't begin to thank them enough for everything -- all of our guests have been raving about the food, the service, and the raw bar. Kelly and her company is amazing. She was able to accomodate our change in date and venue - & worked with us to develop a menu within our price range. She made our small backyard wedding barbeque a hit with superb appetizers: grilled shrimp skewers, guacamole platter (which got rave reviews), and brie/strawberry tartlets. She provided delicous food, and s'more pit that was loved by everyone!

The staff working the wedding were very professional and accomodating - & always willing to help if needed. They were even concerned about ensuring I was ready for my walk down the aisle.

Chez Alice provides a personal touch for any bride of any budget. Highly recommend.

First I need to say that planning a wedding is a daunting process and eventually all of the effort and organization finally culminates into this momentous event. No matter whether you are the Bride, Mother of the Bride, etc. at a certain point during this day, you will have to pass the torch of responsibility to someone. I am writing this review so that I can attest how incredibly grateful I am that I had Chez-Alice to depend upon for my daughter’s wedding day.

Kelly and Jean clearly understand how important this day is to the families and I believe that they take this responsibility very personally. Through the initial “tasting” of the menu to the actual “dinner” being served, Kelly was always professional, patient and responsive to all of our concerns. Kelly is very calm and soothing individual to have working in your corner. The same is to be said for Jean in regard to the planning of the rentals of the tables, linens, etc through the excellent communication and coordination with all of the different “vendors” involved. The day of the wedding, both Kelly and Jean worked all day too make sure that everything went according to our requested schedule.

After actually witnessing their coordinated efforts, I believe it would be very difficult to find a better working combination of Kelly and Jean. They are simply outstanding.

The staff which assisted Kelly and Jean during the wedding were all respectful cheerful, and helpful. I had numerous people tell me how incredibly awesome the bartenders were throughout the evening.

The food that came from Kelly’s kitchen and grill was simply the best; in fact many friends have requested “recipes” of the food items served. Most important the Wedding Cake was not only beautiful but delicious and memorable.

The end result was my daughter’s Wedding Day was absolutely exquisite. And to top it off many of the attendees, told us that this was the best party they have ever been too.

It was a crazy, beautiful day and looking back upon it I am so impressed how Chez Alice took the torch of responsibility and did everything to perfection.

I am going to struggle to find words that express just how competent, kind, delicious, helpful, and exceptional Chez Alice was! Kelly and the Chez Alice Catering Company helped to make my wedding the most amazingly beautiful, memorable day of my life so far. When a blizzard postponed my wedding by a day Kelly was THE voice of reason--the calming presence among the chaos. From start to finish, she made the impossibly confusing task of coordinating food, rentals, decorations seem effortless, and allowed us to feel like guests at our own wedding-- imagine that! She EVEN personally painted decorative vases to have around the wedding, knowing that we share an affinity for winter. I cannot thank her-- and the Chez Alice staff- enough.

It's not often that one is able to host an event and have no regrets afterwards. Such is the case with our daughter's wedding, catered by Chez Alice. Everything was wonderful. This was due, in large part, to Kelly's ability to translate the bride's wishes into reality. From the moment we first spoke with Kelly, we knew we were in good hands. She recognized immediately the wedding the bride had envisioned and with her helpful insight was able to make this a reality. The food was delicious and the wait staff was very professional and attentive. We had a wide range of dishes to accommodate vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetites and people are still raving about the food. Kelly's attention to detail and her relaxed persona, even in the midst of a blizzard, made our daughter's wedding a huge success. We very much appreciated personal kindnesses she extended to the bride and her family. It's unusual to find such a level of professional service. The bride said that "everything was perfect, I wouldn't have changed a thing. It was everything I hoped for." That says it all. Thank you, Kelly and staff, for your expertise, quality of service, fantastic food and responsiveness. Anyone planning a wedding knows that flexibility and a good sense of humor are required for success. Kelly brought this and more to our daughter's wedding and we are very grateful for the wonderful memories she helped us create. Thank you Chez Alice! Three years later, our friends and family still tell us our wedding was the best - thanks in great part to Kelly, Dawn and others at Chez Alice. From our delisious, personalized tasting with the chef to countless phone consultations with our planner, Dawn, we felt comfortable and well cared for. Our hot, mid-summer reception at Mountain Lakes House was a blast! The food was delicious, the cake beautifully decorated and the bartender even accomodated us with our own signature cocktail - yum! We were very, very happey with everything!!

Kelly, Jean, and all the servers were absolutely wonderful to work with. Many of my guests commented on the attentive service. Everyone was very professional and all the details were handled flawlessly. Chez Alice made seven different wedding cakes for our wedding desert buffet. Not only did the cakes look beautiful, they were the best tasting wedding cakes most of the guests have ever tasted. I remember getting congratulated for getting married and asked so many times where did the wedding cakes come from.
Since our wedding almost nine years ago, we enjoy Chez Alice cakes for our dinner parties, birthday parties, and the holidays.

I couldn't have been happier with Kelly and her staff at Chez Alice's catering for our 10/9/99 tent wedding. She also helped us coordinate with Brillman's Rental Barn and Monday Morning Florists, both of which we were happy with, and it was good to have them recommended by our trusted caterer. It was like having the benefit of a wedding planner with a decorator's eye rolled into the catering job. They took care of a challenging 3-locale event, with ceremony inside the house, appetizers outside, while the ceremony chairs were being whisked down to the tent for dinner!

All the food looked and tasted wonderful. The cake was gorgeous and delicious - even the frozen part we ate a year later!!! It was a truly memorable wedding and Chez Alice was a HUGE part of that. There aren't enough superlatives in the English language to describe the professionalism and service provided by Chez Alice Catering Company. Kelly Hamdan and Jean Butcher are the best of the best: efficient, attentive, patient, kind, accomodating, flexible, sensitive, supportive, responsive, and utterly professional. There are not enough adjectives in the dictionary to fully describe how wonderful, professional, helpful, responsible, flexible, accomodating, compassionate, friendly, organized, efficient, cheerful and thoughtful everyone at Chez Alice was. My daughter was a very busy bride-to-be, attending school full-time until a week before the wedding day and without the support, understanding and friendship of Kelly and Jean the reception would never have turned out to be as perfectly beautiful as it did. The tables were set beautifully. The food was just OUTSTANDING -- all our guests were raving about it, and the cake was spectacular: beautiful and delicious. Our wedding cake was fantastic. It looked great and it was delicious!

Chez Alice was part of our package at the Nassau Inn. Because we are major Food Network junkies we thought we wanted the fancy fondant cake. Note to all of you: Fondant is gross. It doesn't actually taste good. We got a smooth buttercream cake (which was awesome) and it looked like fondant without the weird texture and questionably taste!

We picked a picture from one of their multiple books. It was like nothing we had every seen, and we just loved it! In the end our cake wasn't an exact replica of the picture. It was even better!

Also, they were so accommodating about doing our tasting. Our car broke down on the way to the tasting and they let us come in early the next morning before the bakery was even open so we could do it then. We were so surprised at how GOOD the cake was.

I would definitely recommend them whether or not you a having your wedding at the Nassau Inn.

Kelly and Jean, thank you so much for an outstanding event! Our guests told us it was the best rehearsal dinner they had ever attended! The food was delicious - from the terrific pulled pork and chicken (loved the sauces) and the side dishes too (my mom loved the fresh tomatoes especially). Chez Alice exceeded all of my expectations for the catering at my wedding reception at Prallsville Mills. Every bit of food was amazingly scrumptious. For the cocktail hour, they prepared a stunning spread of BBQed clams, shrimp, chicken and passed appetizers including lobster rolls, quiche, and deviled eggs. For dinner, there was a buffet of roast beef, chicken and eggplant rollatini with fresh vegetables, orzo and garlic mashed potatoes to accompany it. Our guests gave the food nothing but rave reviews. We received compliment after compliment about how delicious the food was and how our guests thoroughly enjoyed every bit of what they ate. And, even beyond the food, Kelly Hamden and Jean Butcher at Chez Alice were tremendously helpful in the months prior to the wedding. They had valuable insight and advice on many aspects of the ceremony and reception. Kelly and Jean are truly masters at their trade. They thoughtfully listened to my concerns and were constantly helping me brainstorm and strategize on how to make it the most enjoyable and beautiful day possible. After the wedding and reception, I marveled to myself about how I so successfully planned an event that so many different people genuinely enjoyed. I really was giving myself too much credit, though. The real truth is that Chez Alice perfectly orchestrated my big daywith just a little bit of input from me. They were so wonderful to work with and are such talented caterersI enthusiastically recommend their services.

I loved the services provided by Chez Alice, beginning with our meeting with Kelly in her Princeton cafe, to the meeting with her at Brillman's, to the excellent tasting where I met Jean, to the FABULOUS appetizers, dinner and desserts! Everyone loved the food- I was given compliments all night by my guests!

Our favorite appetizers were the strawberry soup (which my husband was skeptical about- but boy did he change his mind once he tasted it), the brie and fruit tartletts and the salmon spoon. Apparently the create your own mu-shu was a serious hit because it was all gone by the time we made it to cocktail hour!
We also loved the beef wellington- which my husband specifically wanted and I tried for the first time- Fantastic!

And last but certainly not least- the gorgeous wedding cake! We served some the next morning to the guests that stayed over at the Marriott! I can't wait until our first anniversary when we can finish the cake top!

I want to especially thank Kelly and Jean for working so hard on the night of our wedding! Kelly- you were there super late making sure everything was perfect, and Jean, you were so attentive to making sure my husband and I got anything and everything we needed- you really made us feel like V.I.P's!!!

I was throughly pleased with my decision to hire Chez Alice for a post wedding brunch that I was hosting in Skillman, NJ. Kelly Hamdan handled all of the specifics for me and was even there to supervise the event. Chef Christoph did a wonderful job. His made-to-order omeletes, hot off the griddle waffles, and assortment of fruits, muffins and pasteries were delicious. The servers were both pleasant and efficient and my guests raved about the brunch from start to finish. I wouldn't hesitate in hiring Chez Alice again in the future.

The cake from Chez Alice was by far the best wedding cake I have ever had. I had many guests come up to me and tell me how great the cake was. There was also so much left over that we provided cake to everyone at the bar at the after party.

We chose the carrot cake, a chocolate cake, and a vanilla cake with strawberries. Each layer was a different flavor, and they tasted way better than I could ever describe them.

The cake was also included with the Nassau Inn package, which made it very easy, and one less thing that we needed to worry about. We showed up for the tasting, ate them all, then had a beautiful cake on our wedding day.

First - the food was great! We wanted to have a Mediterranean menu for a cocktail-style party (no sit-down). They worked with us to create a great menu. Also, Dawn, who was our planner was awesome! She knows what she is doing! She helped us pick out all the tables, chairs, plates, and all that stuff. And on the wedding day she was so amazing. She brought us water when we looked hot and just took care of everything. I had no worries at all on my wedding day. And the cake was delish!!!!!

We really enjoyed our experience with Chez Alice Catering. The food and cake were delicious and the staff was flexible to work with and catered to our desires for our wedding. We got married at Strawberry Hill Mansion in Titusville, NJ, an outside venue, and of course on our wedding day it was rainy. Chez Alice was extraordinarily helpful throughout the wedding process. We paid a minimal amount to have the "day of" services as well, and it was the best money spent in the process. Jean was everywhere on our wedding day, helping out, asking if we needed anything, making sure the guests were happy and everything else in between. We had very close, clear contact with the ladies of Chez Alice from the time of our tasting in September to the wedding in May. We have been getting compliments on the food from our guests (go with the lamb "lollipops" for hors d'oeuvres!) and were pleased with the price point.

The only issue that came to our attention after the wedding was the bartending staff. While polite, one or two of the servers were unsure about drinks and one served a guest a glass of beer with a handful of ice in it (not by request). We're laughing about the error and assume that more experience will improve the bar tending.

We came to Chez Alice only 3 months before our wedding date after another catering company we had been working with backed out on us. Despite the time crunch, Chez Alice helped us get everything done in a timely and relatively stress-free manner. Jean & Kelly are amazing! They were so accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Kelly met with me several times as I hunted for the perfect vendor. Then worked with us on pricing and displays since we had a twist for food from the usual wedding dinner. The food and displays were amazing. We are still being contacted by friends & family to here how amazing the food was. Then there was the cake, which was just breathtaking and was so yummy. Most wedding cake i've had was so-so, not theirs. It was so moist and tasty. After the wedding we had extra that they gave us to take to the hotel...at 2 in the morning our guests devoured it. The staff they hired were great and sweet and professional.

My cake was delicious and so noy like any other wedding cake I had ever tasted. I actual detest cake and ate this one. My cake was four layers, two of them were carrot and two were hazelnut pave. They also decorated my cake to match my color scheme, which added that personal touch not often seen in most wedding cakes.

Our only concern was that one guest said there cake was frozen. Wedding cakes are generally made days in advance and then frozen until the day of. Not really sure if this was just a disgruntled guest or factual. My piece was perfect.

The venue was perfect, the staff was really nice and the food was good. Only downside was everything was ala carte (separate vendor and price for linens/china, alcohol, venue rental and catering)

Great food for our wedding! Everyone loved the apps and they were ranting about how delicious the buttercream wedding cake was with the fresh strawberries! The dinner was also excellent! The only complaint is that there was a sugar shortage for coffee? There were 2 packets per person. Not sure if they forgot the sugar or what but our guests, my spouse and I were a little upset about that. Even though that happened I would still recommend Chez Alice to cater your wedding because we are still hearing about how our family and friends were loving the food.
