Beautiful place and great staff!

Cheekwood was absolutely fabulous! I'm from Nashville, but live out of state. They were so kind to help us find a wedding package thay fit our vision and needs, everyone was so kind. We were easily able to plan everything from out of state. On the wedding day they helped us and our guests get around the grounds, and were so sweet and supportive! And of course cheekwood is absolutely stunning!

Dreamiest Venue

The venue is just breathtaking. Erin was wonderful to work with! We had so many obstacles along the way and our plans changed frequently due to Covid, but she always found a solution. The recommended vendors are great and know the venue well! All pros! Could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

Incredible Venue + Service - Perfect Day

Cheekwood is the most breathtaking venue - there is hardly a need to add anything to this stunning place and the photos don't do it justice. The staff was incredible - high communication, flexible and accommodating the whole way. This was especially impactful as we were planning during COVID but they kept us apprised and informed every step of the way. If you are considering it - just do it!

Perfect & a dream come true

Our daughter’s wedding was a dream come true.
We were sold on the ceremony being held there the minute we stepped on the grounds. Then meeting with the event staff and them sharing in our excitement and anticipation of our big day, we were made to feel calm and in good hands. Also they dealt seamlessly with our wedding planner to plan and execute the most beautiful day.

They Made Our Dreams Come True!

We dreamed of getting married at Cheekwood because the architecture and gardens remind us of Italy. That's where my husband is from and we wanted our wedding to reflect the feeling of history and elegance that you might find in an Italian garden. We worked with Erin from the beginning and we are convinced that she is an angel sent down from Heaven. Not only is she the sweetest, but she really cared about the vision behind our event and cared about helping us make that vision come to life. She was so accommodating and organized throughout the planning process (which was only 2 months!!). We knew we were in good hands with her as we quickly planned our event. We had our ceremony in the Wisteria Arbor and had a small 50 person cocktail reception inside the Loggia. It was everything we dreamed and more. Thank you so much Cheekwood! We are indebted to you guys!!

Beautiful, affordable, efficient

We had our wedding ceremony at Cheekwood on 9/29/18. It is the most beautiful place for pictures beforehand, as you can use the entire park with its wide variety of beautiful settings. We had our ceremony in the Herb Garden. It was a very intimate setting for our 80 guests. The staff at Cheekwood are amazing. Katie and Erin made everything smooth and painless. They went above and beyond in ensuring that everything we ordered through the 3rd party rental company was accurate, securing a bridal suite/changing area for us and doing a last minute sweep of the garden to tidy up some of the grounds that needed trimming. It was a beautiful wedding and stress less the whole way through.

My other venue had fallen through and there was only six months until our wedding. I reached out to Cheekwood and luckily they had an opening at the Herb Garden! It was great! Taylor, the Special Events Manager, helped us out. For our wedding, the bridesmaids were given a gorgeous little room inside the stone cottage next to Lot A and the groomsmen had a separate room in a conference room. I think the best deal about having our ceremony there was that we were allowed to take our pictures there all day! It was great to use the whole grounds and take photographs anywhere. It was really like a fairy tale!

Cheekwood now offers an Elopement Package where the bride/groom may pick any location on the grounds to have their wedding ceremony for $500 if they have less than 25 guests. My fiance and I had already decided to do a private ceremony with just our parents and then have a larger reception for extended family and friends. This option allowed us the opportunity to have a beautiful ceremony location for low cost. The Events Manager has worked wonderfully with us to set up the best time/date/location.

Our day couldn't have been more perfect, Cheekwood was extremely accommodating and made everything beautiful. Food was excellent, price was reasonable. Wouldn't change a thing!

I could not be happier with Cheekweed as our ceremony venue. Kim was the best! She answered all of my questions (which I felt like a lot) within hours. She was also there running me around on the golf cart the day of the wedding. She made me laugh and feel comfortable throughout the entire thing. Thank you, Cheekwood and thank you, Kim!

What can you say about Cheekwood that it doesn't already say about itself?
Such a beautiful, peaceful, and romantic atmosphere.
Stephanie was FANTASTIC to work with.
Any question I had she quickly had an answer for.
She was flexible with our meeting schedule and worked with us within our budget (she didn't try to push us into anything we'd feel uncomfortable with).

There are SO MANY options for ceremony sites and each one of them is a winner.
We held our ceremony at The Reflection Pool and our reception at The Botanic Hall.
The Botanic Hall looked magical!
The Cheekwood staff went out of their way to fulfill every request, work with all of our vendors, and make sure any needs we had were met.

I highly recommend Cheekwood to ANYONE.

Cheekwood could not have been a more perfect location! We used Massey Hall as our reception site and it was amazing. We had the perfect balance of indoor and outdoor space. The dinner and dancing were inside but our guests also enjoyed the beautiful patio with a view of the gardens during the cocktail hour and reception as they wished. The staff was incredibly easy to work with and very quick to respond to any need. I would recommend Cheekwood to anyone looking for the perfect event!

We had our wedding in September 2010 at Cheekwood. We planned our wedding in 2 months and were very pleased with the responsiveness and accomodations. We had a beautiful garden picked out for our ceremony. However, it ended up raining and we had to move the ceremony else where. The pictures still turned out beautiful. I would recommend using Cheekwood for any bride looking for a beautiful outdoor ceremony location.

If you are an outdoors person, this is the perfect place. There are several ceremony sites to give you pretty much anything you would want. You save cost on flowers/ plants because that's what the whole place is. If you're a simple person, the herb garden would be right up your alley. The staff is super easy to work with. The prices are reasonable, and for what you will experience on your special day, well worth the money. I would recommend Cheekwood to anyone. My pictures were so beautiful and it is a place that will always be special to my family.

This is a very exclusive area, that is known to be high end and expensive. I had no idea that we could afford to have our ceremony there. Be prepared to have to order from only one vendor anything addtional you need and pay a little more for it because of their rules, but it was totally worth it.

Cheekwood is such a beautiful place. My guests are still talking about how gorgeous it was. We had an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. It sure is a great place to take photos too! Cheekwood made it very easy on us - they also made great recommendations for other vendors. This is a great location for a ceremony and/or reception!!

Incredibly accommodating, flexible, and sweet!

My apprehension was mainly with the idea of Elopement packages, which normally seem to have less "value" put towards them than 10k+ weddings in the wedding industry.

But the Cheekwood team made us feel incredibly valued and important, answering all of our questions, providing a dressing room and allowing me to hide in their offices while my fiance was getting ready for the First Look, and allowing us to picnic on the property so we didn't have to drive to a restaurant for dinner.

Jessica was so sweet, Katie was wonderful, and the security team was very nice about giving us a little extra time to cleanup the picnic at the end of the night.

$500 for 3 hours, a responsive and kind team, and a year-long membership? Yes please! Thank you for making our day wonderful and inexpensive on your GORGEOUS property!

Beautiful Fairytale Wedding Venue!

I couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect venue for my reception! I had my main reception in the Frist Learning Center stable area outside and the cocktail in the lawn out front. It was perfectly well-kept and was absolutely beautiful! Jenny was extremely responsive and sweet and even Facetimed me to help with my planning since I was planning from afar. I had my wedding in June and all of the gardens and trees were in full bloom and my photographs in the gardens turned out so well. The venue looked like an absolute fairytale! I highly recommend using Cheekwood for your wedding!

We loved our Cheekwood wedding venue in the garden. It was such a hot day but they were able to accommodate us and ensure that everyone was comfortable. We had gorgeous surroundings and loved our ceremony and reception. The price was reasonable for the quality you receive. Our food was scrumptuous and it was well prepared. We really loved the convenience of everything they offered under one roof. I'd do it again if asked. :) Lovely service and grounds.

I really enjoyed working with Jennifer to plan my wedding at Cheekwood. She was very friendly, helpful and professional when I met with her and spoke on the phone. My wedding was planned to be outdoors in the Wills Garden, but when it rained that day she explained the indoor options and moved the event to the Frist Learning Center, which worked well for us.
Even though it rained, we still ended up getting pictures outside in the evening with it sprinkling because it is just too beautiful all around the mansion and gardens not to!

Cheekwood provided the background for a beautiful wedding! We were so pleased with the service and the romantic ambience. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and the Frist Learning Center was an amazing location for our reception- we received so many compliments on the venue!

Cheekwood was very easy to work with! Of course, they are expensive and make you pay them to bring in an outside caterer BUT the background for my wedding and reception were breathtaking. I wouldn't change it for anything!

Having my ceremony and reception here was a great benefit for me.
We elected to have our catering done with the venue and while I’m not sure if I would have had any savings if I went with another cater, I was very pleased with the service and the quality.
There was a staff change in event planning during my planning months which did make communication difficult at times, but I think that has been resolved since my wedding.
All of the staff was friendly, courteous and the delivered on all of their commitments.
As for value, we did have to negotiate to fine a price we were finally pleased with.

Ceremony held in the Japanese Garden for 25 people. Excellent for pictures also. You can arrange just to have pictures taken here.
Potential down sides include: need to rent a tent for most locations and few nice hotels nearby.

Cheekwood is without a doubt the most gorgeous venue in Nashville, and we are so happy we got married there. As the site is not exclusively a wedding venue, there are definitely a few more headaches than I expect you would deal with compared to somewhere whose primary focus is weddings. We were confronted with unexpected construction at our venue and intrusive art installation around the grounds, so there are some things out of your control. It is also important to note that there will be a LOT of additional fees due to the fact that Cheekwood does not really provide anything except for use of the land. I think it would be very difficult to have a ceremony & reception there for under 50K. That being said, I have no regrets as our wedding was incredibly beautiful, and the staff is really friendly and helpful - for instance, they upgraded our cocktail hour site free of charge without hesitation when it became clear that the construction in the area would not be finished by the time of our wedding.

Cheekwood was an absolutely gorgeous backdrop for my wedding and reception. All of my photographs turned out beautiful thanks to the amazing scenery. I found the price to be very reasonable for a larger wedding. My ceremony was in the Color Garden with the reception in Massey Hall, which was all one price. While all the rentals do add up, they have a great selection, and the quality was excellent. The original person planning my event was very helpful, but she unfortunately had a medical emergency a few weeks before my wedding and another person had to take over my event. The day of the wedding was slight chaos because no one knew where everything was suppose to be set up causing undesired stress, but everything turned out beautifully in the end. The room I was provided to change in wasn't glamorous, but it provided plenty of space. There wasn't a mirror, but I had been warned beforehand and knew to bring my own. You must also use their catering services. I wish I could have had a tasting beforehand, but it didn't matter because the food was quite possibly the best part of the wedding. Overall I'm really glad I chose Cheekwood for my wedding, and I've received many complements from guests.

The food was excellent. They offered choices for any kind of food we wanted to have. It was presented well and our guests loved it. The reception room was beautiful. An excellent spcae for the night. There were outdoor spaces in addition to the indoor hall. The room was set up exaclt to my specifications, and I didn't have to worry about doing anything.

Cheekwood is absolutely gorgeous. While they're pretty inflexible and not as responsive as I'd like, the setting itself was unbeatable. They know what they're doing when they set up a party. I could not have asked for a more perfect backdrop for our wedding.

Cheekwood is absolutely the most beautiful place to get married in Nashville. We had our ceremony in the Wills Perennial Garden and our reception at the Frist Learning Center. Jennifer French Byler helped us with everything from menu choices, tent options, to silverware and napkins. It was a pleasure working with her - she is the epitome of professionalism and truly understood what we wanted. She was also able to provide us with excellent vendor recommendations at the beginning of the planning process. They do require you to use their catering service, but Anne Clayton does a great job, and we were very happy with the food. We wish that we could have had a food tasting before the wedding day, but apparently Cheekwood is not able to provide that service. I was also disappointed that they do not have a room for brides to get dressed in on the wedding day- the room that I was assigned was an old, dusty art classroom with no mirrors or window shades or blinds to prevent maintenance people from looking through the window as I got dressed. Overall, however, Cheekwood was gorgeous and did a lot to make our wedding day beautiful and special.

While Cheekwood was a beautiful venue for our wedding and reception, it was clear that they were not used to working with a couple on a budget. There were many 'extras' that we hadn't thought about that continued to pile up.

Elopement - Great photos, subpar day of

Cheekwood is a beautiful backdrop to elope. And I wouldn't have changed the location since we loved our photos. But to be frank, there were some disappointments. Their contract for just the elopement was confusing. The language seemed to be a catch all and hard to decipher what was written for a wedding vs the elopement package. Communication back and forth was timely but we had to email back and forth to get clarification on the contract. Would suggest having separate documents for the two different events. On the day of our elopement it was just us, the Chaplain, and the photographer. We were stopped in the parking lot and they told our driver that he couldn't drop us off any closer to Wisteria Arbor. The individual ushering vehicles into the lot told us that we needed to walk there.... then we were told they would call for a golf cart to come pick us up. No one checked in with us to make sure we were there to get eloped which we thought was extremely odd. Makes us wonder why we even paid if we could just walk on in. But the grounds were not that busy and we were able to take really beautiful photos. So, in summarization, great place for an elopement if you want to capture some great photos. But day of was lacking support and communication.

The botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful, but the staff leaves alot to be desired! Would not recommend this venue for that reason alone.

The venue itself, of course, is gorgeous and I am glad we had our wedding here for that reason. Beyond that, I was very unimpressed. I thought this was a wedding vendor. But in reality, we were left to just fumble and figure things out for ourselves as the staff were quite unhelpful. We were told one price, and then come contract time, were told a much higher price and were unapologetically told that whoever gave us the lower price was wrong. After that, there was really no guidance or help. For the rehearsal, no staff member showed up, and when we called--confused and embarrassed with all the rehearsal attendees there--someone came (points for flexibility there), and implied that the person who was supposed to come had forgotten. On wedding day, we couldn't find anyone in the office to direct us to the dressing rooms (I'm sure they were setting up or busy, but still). So we searched high and low for them ourselves. One of them was quite nice, while the other was literally just a giant room with nothing in it... not even mirrors. Huh? During the ceremony, there were multiple staff members there, which I guess is fine, but I'm not sure why (there was nothing for them to do), and we had been told it would just be the one person who we did need help operating the CD player. No biggie (I'm sure they have their reasons), but we were going for small and intimate so it was just unnecessary. The CD player operation was not perfect, which again is no biggie, but if they had been at the rehearsal longer/from the start, it may have gone better. Basically, a lot of little things that aren't that bad added up and made me feel uncared for and like they had next to zero involvement. I can't imagine that this is the norm given how praised they seem to be as a wedding venue, so maybe since we had a quick small ceremony made us not a priority compared to bigger fancier ones that included receptions that they had a lot to do for. At least they were nice and replied to emails quickly

I booked a photography session at Cheekwood to do my bridal portraits and first look on the beautiful grounds. I was so excited to get all those dreamy pictures...until the plans crashed and burned the week of my wedding. I contacted the events manager a couple days before my wedding to confirm the main drive wouldn't be blocked (we planned to take pictures at the top of the hill on the mansion's wisteria arbor). When I booked the session there was no warning of the high probability of the drive being blocked, in fact they told me to just reach out the day before my wedding. I was shocked when I got back a short email that basically said yes, the main drive will be blocked because we have food trucks on Saturdays and you can park at the bottom of the hill and walk up to the mansion. ZERO consideration for the fact that this was a bridal shoot and I would undoubtedly be in a WEDDING DRESS and likely a veil (which I was). After a couple emails and phone calls back and forth, the best option they could give me was a golf cart ride that was on no particular schedule with no guarantee of events staff being on site (even though my photo session was booked during normal business hours). This was a nightmare for the timeline we were on that day, plus it was July so the thought of sweating off all of my makeup while I waited for a golf cart was a huge issue. I ended up cancelling the photo session all together to avoid the stress and timeline problems.

Cheekwood has to be one of the most beautiful venues in Nashville, but the staff could really try to be more accommodating, or at least empathetic to brides who pay to take pictures there on their wedding day.

Beautiful venue, challenging staff

We booked for an intimate 50-person wedding. We had a ton of challenges working with Francesca, our assigned rep. She was extremely negative and even combative. On the wedding day, she never even congratulated the couple nor the families. Would not recommend.

Please, please, please do NOT book cheekwood for a bridal or any other photo shoot the day of your wedding!! We had selected a downtown venue and wanted some outdoor pictures somewhere... so why not cheekwood!! We booked it, paid $300 (for 6 people- any additional people have to pay the $20 admission as well), and thought we were all set! Wedding day rolls around and I show up before the bridal party to do bride only pics and they inform me I am not allowed in any of the buildings. That would have been fine except it was 37 degrees outside and windy!! I argued with the security guard for 20 min (completely missed my bridal pics) and he finally agreed to let us use one room in the back for some pics. Overall we were only able to get a fraction of the picture we wanted and they were very difficult to work with. If your photo date isn’t flexible for bad weather, please do not count on them!!

Extremely difficult to work with. During one year, we worked with three different event staffs. They would contradict themselves and changed the contract mid-stream. They did not live up to the contract. They are very expensive and have numerous hidden charges.

It is a very beautiful venue but not worth the hassle.
