Amazing Team!!!!

Amber and her team are AMAZING. 10 out of 10!!! We used Charleston Catering and Events for a small wedding. From beginning to the end I cannot say enough good things. After the first phone call I had with Amber, there was no question that everything was going to be perfect and then the tasting confirmed that. The tasting was absolutely incredible and the day of the wedding, it couldn’t have been better. We had one vegan guest who they made sure to take care of which was incredible. My vegan guest actually told me that she has never been so taken care of at any event and how thankful she was. On top of that, as soon as we said I do and made our way down the aisle, members of their team were there asking us what we needed and what they could get for us. The level of service was absolutely top notch. They were seriously beyond hospitable and every single one of our wedding guests noticed how amazing they were. The attention to detail, the flavor, the service was perfect. And on top of that, they also got some fantastic photos and videos that they were kind enough to send to me. I cannot recommend them enough!!

Amazing even through crazy pandemic!

We had our wedding planned during this pandemic. They where amazing with being flexible as plans shifted ans changed. They made sure I didn't have to worry about food at all!

Charleston Catering and Events was such a pleasure to work with for our wedding day. The food that was prepared was amazing and all of our guest loved everything. I highly recommend Charleston Catering and Events! Amber and Keith are wonderful people, easy to communicate with and they are very affordable. They will work with you and your budget. Amber did an outstanding job putting my vision into reality on our wedding day. She went through all the hoops to make sure our postponed Covid wedding was everything we dreamed of! She and her team are very professional and were super easy to get along on with. By the time our wedding came around, it felt like Amber and I have known each other for years. Delicious food and superior service!

Keith and his staff provided not only delicious food but superior service in spite of last minute changes due to the weather. The captain personally offered to fix my husband and I (bride's parents) a plate realizing we were busy with other obligations. Our coordinator has nothing but "WONDERFUL THINGS" to say about them. They went above and beyond even pitching in at the end of the night to help break down rentals.

Jayme and her team at Cafe Catering did a wonderful job with food and service at our reception! We received a ton of compliments about the food from our guests afterwards. The whole planning process was super easy and the event was executed perfectly! Would highly recommend!

We worked with cafe catering for our wedding stations and also worked with Jayme for the coordination. The food was absolutely incredible and our guests are STILL talking about it, but the best part of working with cafe catering was Jayme. She is an incredible coordinator and is worth every penny. She was so fun to work with and went above and beyond what I was expecting. The wedding day was absolutely perfect and stress free and I know this is because Jayme was all over it. I didn't have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding - which is how it should be!

Cafe Catering was absolutely amazing! They stepped in after our already booked caterer closed their doors two months from the wedding date and did an incredible job! Our food was one of the most talked about and complemented elements of our wedding day. We are from Cincinnati and wanted to showcase lowcountry and southern cuisine for our guests: shrimp and grits, pulled pork, mac n cheese, crab cakes, chicken and waffles, fried green tomato stacks, she-crab soup ... Cafe knocked it out of the park. Even an uncle of mine who never comments on things, said how great the food was. Our guests really enjoyed the change of pace and the dishes were amazing. I'm not a fan of the look of traditional silver chafers and so they served everything on wooden risers, cast iron pots, and cast iron flat tops and the menu was written at each station in a framed chalkboard, it's these little details that tied everything together. Tasting and menu creation was a breeze.

Katie and the team were outstanding! Cafe Catering was our food vendor of choice from the beginning. Katie worked with us to get our menu down to the "T", we did a tasting a few months out (p.s. ensure to be hungry - haha), and then the day of was executed flawlessly. I ensured to eat a little bit of everything...and I believe most of my guests felt the same way. So many guests came up to us and said the food was the best they'd ever had, let alone the best at any wedding. The display of the food was even gorgeous. Thanks again Cafe Catering for an unforgettable night, we are forever grateful.

Lauren and the Cafe team did an amazing job catering for our wedding. I had multiple guests tell me that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding! Being in Charleston, there is a higher standard for exceptional food, and Cafe exceeding our expectations. The quality of the food was very important to us, as more often than not, wedding food is boring (we all have had that "dry wedding chicken"). We had many out of town guests and wanted them to experience "Lowcountry" cuisine. Lauren did such an amazing job helping us pick stations that fit our vision and stay within our budget. The shrimp & grits and mac & cheese stations are a must! They were huge hits! We were also pleased with their flexibility. They also helped us create a local bar package with our choice of Charleston brews and let us bring a few bottles of Firefly lemonade vodka to serve our guests. From our tastings to the big day, we were 100% satisfied with Cafe Catering. Highly recommend!

Oh my goodness THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Cafe Catering for making our wedding day absolutely perfect!! Not only is their food to die for (the crowd favorite was the smoked gouda shrimp and grits & crab cakes) but the presentation was flawless and the service, amazing. Katie at Cafe could not have been more helpful, kind, pleasant and professional when working with us in the planning and execution of the wedding. Cafe Catering did an amazing job for our wedding! The food was amazingly good, which everyone raved about. We initially met Lauren Miller while viewing the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation as a prospective venue. She was so sweet to take 10 min from setting up another wedding to chat with us and gave us advice about wedding planning in Charleston as we were planning from out-of-town. She gave us her card for Cafe Catering and we decided to try out their Cafe in Mt Pleasant that day for lunch. Of course, the food was delicious! After doing some price comparisons with a few other caterers in town, Cafe Catering had the best pricing with the best options and were so flexible to meet all of our specific requests. We also couldn't forget how nice Lauren was during that 10 min conversation and we knew we would be able to work with her and the Cafe Catering team. We would definitely hire them again!

I cannot even begin to say enough thank yous to Lauren Miller and Katie N. at Cafe Catering. Katie handled our food and beverage and did an outstanding job. She kept checking with me all night long to make sure things were going well. Her wait staff was also superb!
Lauren Miller is amazing at what she does! She helped us coordinate our rentals for tables, lighting, linens, etc and made our original ideas come to life! She steered us in the right direction when we needed it but let us make our daughter 's wedding our own as well. I had every confidence that things would be done correctly and on time. She was responsive and efficient, yet warm and likeable. Lauren, we could not have done all of this without you!
Cafe Catering offers a wide range of menu choices. Our guests are still raving about the taste and display of the food! Fabulous job, Cafe Catering!

If you want people to talk about how good your food is after the wedding, choose Cafe Catering. I heard about Cafe Catering because they catered a friend's wedding. Their fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwiches, crab cakes, and demi-tasse she crab soups convinced me that they were the caterer to choose. We had sauteed scallops and sushi-grade seared tuna on top of seaweed salad that was so delicious that my guests had eaten all of it by the time I had a chance to eat. The same happened with the crab cakes. I did get some of the fried green tomato and pimento cheese stacks, and they were so so delicious. Also, I chose the standard bar plus one premium beer selection. I was so busy with other things that I didn't ever say what beer I wanted. They provided a selection of 4 or 5 local craft beers that my friends were crazy about. Many of our guests told us that this food was the best wedding food they had ever had. It looked like a 5 star restaurant had catered our event. The food was Southern, but modern. It was all perfectly cooked. All of the fried food is fried onsite so it doesn't get soggy. In addition, they packed us a huge bag of leftovers since we didn't get to eat much at the wedding. I do have to say though, you have to think about the event too. My friends had a delicious mac and cheese bar, but I decided not to go with that because, if mac and cheese doesn't get eaten immediately, the noodles soak up all of the moisture, and it gets dry. So, we planned the menu with the event in mind. I want to have another event just so they can cater it. I've given great reviews for all of my vendors, but it's because my wedding was perfect. I would not change one thing about it.

Everything from the first meeting to the end of the reception was amazing with Lauren and Cafe' Catering. The food was incredible and many guests from the wedding are still raving about it! I have many family members that have worked for different catering companies across the states, and they all agreed that this was the best food and service that they have ever encountered. Lauren was more than helpful with everything, responded quickly to e-mails or questions, set up meetings to fit my schedule, allowed multiple food tastings, and made the entire process easy. I highly recommend them to everyone. I am already trying to get my friends to use them so that I can taste the delicious food again! I have only great things to say about them!

We booked Cafe Catering for our wedding this May and would give them more than a 5 star rating if it was possible.
We were originally attracted to Cafe Catering because of their outstanding reviews, and they completely exceeded our expectations!
We had seafood, asian, and slider stations, and the food was out of this world! Our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. Guests were literally stuffed and wished they had room to go back for more.
We also used Cafe Catering's coordination services which was the best thing we did for the whole wedding. My husband and I are very dedicated to our jobs which left little time for planning. Not only did Lauren Miller make planning seamless, she listened carefully to what we wanted and made our vision come to life. She nailed it, right down to every food and design detail! I will be forever grateful to her for her patience with me. When I felt overwhelmed, she knew exactly how to put me at ease. Lauren worked her magic to make sure that our vision would come to life AND stay within our budget. It would have been impossible to satisfy all of our 140 guests and provide such a magical experience without the support and guidance of Lauren Miller and the Cafe Catering team.
Our wedding was the most fun we have ever had and we have Lauren and Cafe Catering to thank. If we could go back and do it all again, we wouldn't change a thing!

Cafe Catering made planning our wedding day absolutely effortless. They helped me create the perfect menu for us and even personalized menu items so that it could reflect us as a couple. Everyone at Cafe Catering responded quickly to emails and phone calls, as well as, handled any mishaps along the way. The day of the wedding, their amazing staff handled all aspects of the wedding. I can't say enough good things about Cafe Catering and Lauren Miller of Cafe Catering (was our wedding coordinator)!! I actually chose Cafe Catering solely based on wedding wire reviews and value. I had already booked them when my then-fiance and I took our only pre-wedding trip to Charelston. While the food was good at the tasting, it was amazing at the wedding! Presentation, taste, everything was perfect! We had guests commenting on how the appetizers were the best they'd ever had at a wedding (and they live in Charleston and were married here using a different caterer) and how delicious the entrees were. "Foodie" family members commented on how great the food was... and we ate at all the top restaurants in Charleston while were here... not easily pleased. My cousin who is a high-end corporate event planner commented on how beautifully everything had turned out and how smoothly everything went - all thanks to Lauren! The day-of my fiancé (now husband) did some DIY lights and a few things at the venue and one of his first comments to me after our first look was, "Lauren is so great! She has taken care of everything! I didn't have to worry about a thing!" Lauren went above and beyond with helping take care of florals, helping me cut my rentals in half to be closer to budget, was patient with my many emails and changes. I would have driven myself crazy for sure, and she handled it with absolute patience and professionalism. When 20+ mph winds decided to show up on our wedding day, she made adjustments with draping, decor, etc. Overall, food was wonderful (and we are picky), service was excellent and Lauren as our coordinator was amazing. Our wedding turned out way better than we even imagined and much of it is thanks to Lauren and her team at Cafe Catering. We would recommend them again and again! Thanks so much for making our day PERFECT!!!

Lauren Miller and Cafe Catering made my day complete. From the very beginning, she/they were invaluable. Lauren was able to take my scattered vision and turn into something real with color and simplicity that fit my rustic venue to a tee. No matter how many questions, cost saving suggestions or requests for a change I made, Lauren's patience and personality never wavered. She was flexible, professional, responsive, willing to juggle both my mom and me, creative and the list just goes on and on. When it came to the day of, Lauren was worth her weight in gold. I felt I could relax because I knew she was taking care of everything that needed to be taken care of. She handled mix ups with ease and solved problems like a pro. The food was not only beautiful but delicious, and even as the bride, I was never in want when it came to food or drink. And they sent me home with a bag of goodies, enough to snack on for days! Lauren is a gem! She seamlessly arranged a tasting for me, my parents, my now husband and his parents at a moments notice, and it was all delicious! Seriously, the drunken mac and cheese is to die for. We had great choices for the cocktail hour (the pimento cheese/fried green tomato was my favorite) and people are still raving about how wonderful the food stations were at the reception.

We also contracted Lauren as our event planner. She was worth every penny (and more!) She took my ideas for my perfect wedding and just expanded on them. Everything was even better than I could have ever pictured it. Early on the morning of the wedding, it unexpectedly called for rain, and Lauren took care of making sure we got a tent, that day. She arranged all of our rentals and made it all perfect. I would give Lauren 10 Stars, she and her team are amazing.

Used Cafe Catering for food and event planning for my daughter's wedding. From the first food tasting till after the last guest left, Lauren Miller was on top of everything. The food was fantastic and the guests raved. Lauren helped us picking out what foods would work for our venue and to our tastes.

We also used Lauren for event planning. She answered all of our. Any questions promptly and cheerfully. She came up with ideas we never would have thought of. On the morning of the wedding, she called us early in the morning worried that it. Ignite rain and suggested we rent a tent. She pulled this off thankfully as it did rain for over an hour that evening and everything was held outside. She saved the reception!

Lauren was efficient, professional and so easy to work with. At the end of the event, everything was boxed up for us and ready to load into our car. She coordinated with the other vendors to make sure everything went off without a hitch. My daughter and son-in-law said it was the wedding of their dreams.

Lauren and her staff were so amazing during the whole process of picking a caterer for our Big Day. From day 1 she was in constant contact us. She guided us and helped us get our menu right where we needed to be based on our budget. I am still get so many raving reviews and compliments from our guests that day about how wonderful they made everything look and how good the food was.
Cafe Catering is an amazing Professional, Kind and Sweet group of people. They were referred to me by an old high school friend, and I would no doubt recommend them to anyone that would ever question who they should use as a caterer at their wedding or other events. :)

As Charleston residents, we are very familiar with the quality of food and service delivered by Charleston's Cafe, so when we heard that they had a catering service, it was a no-brainer. We loved Cafe' Catering at our wedding! Their menus choices were excellent, and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone was commenting on how wonderful our food was *and* appeared. Café was the absolute best pick for our wedding. If I had to plan a wedding all over again, I would absolutely buy the coordination package (again) with the catering!

While they can do any type of food you would want, we went with traditional southern food stations, with some modern, personal favorite passed apps.
The food was very good and the presentation is so pretty, it is like additional decoration to the reception space.

Working with Lauren to plan my menu and as my wedding planner was the best money I spent on my wedding. And my mother agrees! She happily took me through different scenarios around cost, reception flow, rental options, and sat through fabric changes throughout the entire prep time. Her patience is awesome, but even more so, I liked working with a professional who can explain the pros and cons of adding something to a ceremony, or taking it out, why you might need an extra bartender, when something is "nice to have" but not necessary, etc.

Lauren also coordinates the event rentals (which includes a discount!) for you, and acts as the point of contact for your vendors month/week of. It really helps to have one point of contact that knows everything that is going on.

Lastly, weddings in Charleston are not cheap and I felt (especially AFTER the wedding which is the best test) I got the most bang for my buck using café catering. And I would have easily spent more just to use Lauren as my coordinator!

In my polling of folks in the wedding industry and recent newlyweds, Cafe Catering kept coming up, and always with rave reviews. I went with my gut and chose them based on these reviews as well as their prices. At our tasting, my mom and now-husband could not stop raving about how delicious everything was - I was just glad I got to taste everything there, since I was too busy at the wedding to eat! I've since heard how fabulous everything tasted from my guests, so I'd say Cafe Catering was a hit! We did have a big bag of goodies go home with us that evening, so that made for a delicious late-night buffet in our honeymoon suite :)

BEYOND EXPECTATIONS, AMAZING, EXCELLENT!!!

I cannot say enough about Lauren and the Cafe Catering team. From the very first phone call with Lauren I knew I'd found my girl. Caterer PLUS wedding planner. I told her my vision and she completely nailed it. EVERYONE said it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been too!!!

Everything was impeccable, the food was delicious, everyone was raving on and on about how much they loved the food. All the coordination was PERFECTION. Lauren's coordination is an absolute must. From managing all the major rental vendors, to making sure all my wedding party was where they needed to be the day of, to getting my now husband and I anything we needed, she was on it! My mom would ask Lauren if we had any number of things..Lauren's response would either be yes or I'll make it happen. Always going above and beyond all of our expectations. She's such a pleasure to work with and her attention to detail and ability to really understand your vision for the overall feeling of what we wanted was dead on. We wanted romantic, formal/vintage, whimsical... I have people calling me everyday and saying that it was hands down the most beautiful wedding they've EVER been to. I have to be honest it was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to. Thank you Cafe Catering and Lauren, you guys are rock-stars! We cannot ever thank you enough for making our day so magical and memorable. It was such a dream come true. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU!

Melissa and her staff were awesome! From the menu planning, coordination, to the decor everything was perfect. They went above and beyond. The food was amazing! They even packed an amazing to go bag of everything for us because she knew we hadn't gotten a chance to sit down and eat. We could not have been happier. Melissa Joseph and her team at Cafe Catering are amazing! As an event planner myself, she pushed the bar even higher with her level of customer service during our wedding planning process. We chose Cafe Catering for our destination wedding based solely on the well rounded menu, competitive pricing & the friendliness of our coordinator Amber. We didn't do our tasting until the week of our wedding since it was a destination wedding & we live over 12 hours away. We were so relieved! The food was phenomenal! They gladly accommodated special dietary requests. I can't say enough about Amber! We hired her as our day of coordinator & that was the best decision we made. She coordinated our rentals & chose the most fabulous linens. Thanks to all Amber's hard work, I was able to sit back & enjoy our special day. Our guests are still raving about how great our food was!

Café Catering was a hands-down winner among the different catering companies while I went through the selection process and collected reviews. I used them for catering, bar, and day-of planning. Lauren gave me invaluable, honest feedback at each meeting and was never short of great ideas. Even though my emotions may have been all over the place, I never felt judged. She would listen, and then we’d solve the problem. I’d walk out of every meeting feeling better than when I came in. The day of the wedding, everything went beautifully. Just at the perfect moments, Lauren would be right there to cue me (or anyone else who had a responsibility). Everyone I met on her staff was sincere and would go above and beyond to make my event great. (Three of them even learned my surprise flash-mob dance and performed it with us at the reception!) I give Lauren and all of the staff at Café Catering an A+!

The girls at Cafe Catering are wonderful! They were fantastic, easy to work with and made my wedding day a complete success with no stress on the bride! They take the time to listen to your vision and really make it come true! They took care of the food, alcohol and event design! The decor was even better than what I'd imagined! The food was absolutely amazing and they even made sure my husband and I had a plate of food at our reception! :) The day flowed so smoothly and I'm incredibly thankful for their hard work!

Lauren and Ashley were superb about communicating with us and making suggestions to our menu. We never saw a single server or any of the wait staff pick up plates at the reception, but they were there for sure! The food was amazing, and we had a lot of compliments on the seafood display which was completely gone by 7 pm. Highly recommend for any and all services- they even coordinated with our rental company to make sure they had what they needed. Got the most compliments on the drunken mac n cheese, seafood display and pecan encrusted chicken skewers.

There are so many choices for caterers in Charleston, it can be very overwhelming! I was introduced to Cafe Catering from a client, and after the first appointment with Lauren I knew I didn't need to look any further! She understood my vision, was very knowladgeble, and very understanding when I changed the menu a time or two. I am a huge foodie and had very high expectations, and I can tell you, I STILL have guests at our wedding, 7 months later, RAVING about the food!! Everything was top notch.

Cafe Catering was absolutely wonderful! We have gotten SO many compliments on how fabulous the food was! Melissa at Cafe Catering was such a delight to work with. We had multiple face-to-face meetings and she was always available via phone or e-mail. She checked in with me multiple times to check if there was anything I needed. She helped me make a lot of decisions about the menu, glassware, set-up, specialty cocktail drinks, etc. I could not have done it without her. They are so great about making sure every detail is perfect. I would definitely recommend!

Lauren at Cafe Catering was very professional and listened to all of my ideas. She was able to capture my vision perfectly, down to the very last detail. Any questions that I had she explained patiently, without making me feel like I was an idiot or a bridezilla. In addition to the top-notch service, the FOOD was AMAZING. The taste and quality of the food was one of the very most important things to my husband and I. They sent us off with a huge shopping bag full of to-go boxes of everything so that we could sample all of it. Our guests are still raving about the food and service. They went above and beyond our expectations.

Cafe Catering did the catering for my wedding at a beach house in Folly Beach and I HIGHLY recommend them! We had lime marinated steak, grilled to order crab cakes, shrimp and grits, and a she crab soup and salad station. Our guests were raving about how great the food was! Melissa Joseph was our event coordinator and she is fabulous to work with. She responded to my questions promptly and gave me great suggestions and advice. Their prices were good and the service was superb. I can't give them a high enough review and would definately recommend Cafe Catering for weddings!

Cafe catering provided all of the catering for my rehearsal dinner and wedding and the food was amazing!! All of my guests have been raving about the food for weeks now :). We had Lauren Miller coordinate the wedding as well as plan out the decor/layout for the ceremony and reception at the Legare-waring house. She did an amazing job and everything looked stunning. On the day of, I barely had to think and didn't have to stress about anything. It was all taken care of by Lauren and her team. After watching some friends go through the day-of wedding stress, I am SO grateful that Lauren was there to manage the event. I would highly recommend Cafe Catering and especially Lauren to anyone!

Cafe Catering truly helped make our wedding a success! We worked with Lauren, who was always very responsive to e-mails and phone calls, and able to answer any questions we had. The food was amazing - our guests are still talking about the crab cakes. In addition, Lauren coordinated all the rentals (tables, chairs, china, lights, sound equipment, etc). She has a good eye and really helped make certain aspects special from colored lights to a fun lounge area. I trusted Lauren, and if she said it would look great, I took her word. I'm glad I did!

Cafe Catering did an excellent job of providing us with catering and bar services for our wedding. In addition, they provided wedding planning "day of" services with Melissa as our coordinator. Their food was delicious and all our guests were very impressed. It had all our favs: crab cake station, shrimp and grits bar, and mac n cheese. True southern style. (The variety of (yummy) menu options from the start made it difficult to choose but Melissa was able to guide us in our selections and make suggestions. It turned out so good!)
Melissa went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything. She was really easy to communicate with and made multiply revisions to our menu per our direction. And when we went over our budget with the rentals, she worked hard to see what our other, more economical options were. We were able to cut it almost in half with her help! She was very flexible throughout whole process, any changes were swiftly executed and with a smile. It was a pleasure working with her and everything turned out just beautiful!
Prior and during the wedding reception, the entire staff was very professional. Didn't have any interaction with the servers or kitchen staff, which as the bride, makes me think they did an excellent job, nothing went wrong, and no one had any complaints. Melissa made sure we ate and was very attentive to our needs. Our guests were taken care of and tables were quickly cleaned off too. (Although it was cold out where the bar was located, the bartenders served with a smile too!) We were sent home with an awesome to-go box. So thoughtful.
Cafe Catering did a wonderful job. We appreciated their hard work, things turned out beautiful and everyone enjoyed themselves. What more could you ask for!? I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for cost effective yet delicious and well-executed wedding reception.

Cafe Catering did a PHENOMENAL job with our catering and bar service. Lauren was a true pleasure to work with during the planning process- always prompt and professional and extremely thorough! The food at the wedding was awesome!

If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I would! Melissa Joseph with Cafe Catering truly made our wedding unforgettable! She invested more thought, time and energy into our BEAUTIFUL, FUN, AND MEMORABLE wedding than I did (and I was the bride!!!)! Our venue fell threw with fewer than 2 months until our wedding, and so in a hurry, we contacted Melissa. She immediately worked with us in our budget to come up with a much better deal than our previous planner had. Our guests still comment on how wonderful the food was, how professional the staff was and what a cool atmosphere Cafe Catering created. Cafe Catering provided bar services for our wedding, and Lauren Miller of the cafe was my day-of coordinator. We would have used them for catering as well if it weren't for a personal connection with our caterer. (We've been to weddings who used Cafe Catering and the food was fantastic.)

The bar was fantastic - and believe me, they had plenty of work with our group. And Lauren took amazing care of us leading up to the wedding and during the day itself. She walked us through our rehearsal, which was really great considering our officiant was a friend and not a pro. She helped with decor and coordinating all of the vendors, and she made sure we were never without champagne or anything else we may have needed.

Cafe Catering is among the best value in Charleston, SC, and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat (and already have!).

Cafe Catering was amazing!! From the beginning to the tasting to the actual wedding they were wonderful to work with. Being a destination bride I had to read reviews and sort through the internet to help me find my wedding services. We got quotes and reached out to numerous caterers but chose cafe because of the AMAZING menu they were able to create and stay within our budget. For appetizers we had chicken and waffle sliders, tomato soup shooters and ahi tuna. Our guests couldn't get enough. For dinner we opted for stations to allow our guest to be able to try lots of different southern cooking. Everything was great and we had been told by many of our guest - some who were tough critics it was the best wedding food they have ever had. The team at Cafe was so professional and wonderful. When we got back back from taking pictures to join our guest at cocktail hour they were there to great us with a tray of apps to make sure we got to try them. They even packed up a little togo box for us to take at the end of the night wanting to make sure we got to try everything and because I think they realize you are so busy talking you don't always get to eat as the bride and groom. The little details were not missed. You can't go wrong selecting them to caterer and serve your special day!

I highly recommend Cafe Catering. They were very reasonably priced in comparison to others I considered. The food was AMAZING. Everyone at the wedding commented on it. I would especially recommend the She-Crab soup. I have had countless cups of she-crab in my life, and theirs was the BEST! Everything went smoothly on the day-of! I also used Cafe Catering for day-of coordination. Lauren was really great. In the days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, she handled every detail. On the day of the wedding, I didn't have to worry about ANYTHING! She handled every detail, and I never worried about a thing! I can't imagine how stressful everything must have been that day, but she made sure my husband and I were happy and that we enjoyed every second! I choose cafe catering because they were friendly and accommodating from the very beginning. Lauren was an amazing caterer and day of event coordinator. We corresponded often to get our menu just right. She was so good about making changes and suggestions to fit our needs and budget. She and her staff set up and took down all of our wedding decor without hassle. She did a beautiful job setting up and even improvised when things didn't go exactly as planned.
The food was absolutely delicious. The crab cakes were my favorite. The service was excellent and servers very friendly. The staff was so nice to pack us to-go boxes so we could actually take time to enjoy the food after our reception. Many of our guests commented again and again how great the food was.
Lauren did a fantastic job coordinating the evening. She had to deal with a difficult staff member at the Citadel beach house who was giving her a hard time most of the night. She handled it well and kept him out of my hair. I was so thankful for all she put up with to make our reception so wonderful.
I would highly recommend cafe catering!

We picked Cafe Catering because they had a lot of experience with our venue (The Old Exchange) and were willing to work with our budget. We worked with Lauren, who I thought was going to be on site managing our wedding, but she didn't actually come. I'm not sure who was in charge, there seemed to be some small communication issues the night of the wedding. We did change where we were serving cake at the last minute, and they were fairly adaptable.

The food we had was delicious. Every other wedding we've been to hasn't been as good. We served steak and crab cakes and they were just as good day of as in our tasting. Our mini BLTs and shrimp bruscetta appetizers were delicious also. The great thing is Cafe does monthly tasting sessions, but they will also prepare your menu for you if you ask.

The biggest problem we had is the company is so busy, it took a while to get ahold of Lauren to make changes or talk about our account. They're food is great and they're really popular, so keep that in mind. Everything turned out great day of.

Cafe Catering's food was very tasty at a competitive price in a very expensive Charleston market. We had crab cakes, shrimp and grits, pork loin, potatoes, fruit and cheese, biscuits and more for a good price! Their bar pricing was also very good, in my opinion. Overall, they were good to work with as well. Initially in the process when we were still tweaking the menu and trying to compare prices, they could be very slow to respond. After I booked them as my caterer, I was assigned another point of contact and got very quick responses from there on. They were also flexible when I wanted to change things on the menu or in the drink menu. There were a few problems at the wedding that disappointed my parents and me. We had requested sweet tea and lemonade plus a full liquor bar for guests. I changed from beer to wine to liquor later in the process, and at the wedding there was no sweet tea and lemonade. This was a sensitive issue for my family since some of my family did not drink and specifically wanted those other drink options. When my parents contacted them about it after the wedding, they said it must've been an oversight when we switched to the full bar. While I assumed that was the case, it was still upsetting to my family. In addition, at the end of the night there was leftover food, but they did not contact my wedding planner or my parents to ask if we wanted the leftover food. My wedding planner said that it is pretty standard practice for the caterer to ask what we want done with the extra food, but they didn't ask and just threw it away. My parents were upset that we paid the amount we did and weren't even asked. When they followed up about it after the wedding, the caterer said they couldn't keep the food due to health code rules, even though that seems standard at other weddings. Finally, before I booked them, they didn't tell me that I would need to rent any catering equipment for them, but I had to rent several items at their request.

Overall, everything was pretty good with Cafe Catering. Both my husband and I totally understand how crazy weddings can get with all of the planning and details, but really the only things that caused stress was due to poor communication and slow response from Cafe Catering. Although we were under the impression that our "roasted veggies" plate would be more than just carrots & asparagus, I'll still say that the food was great and the servers were fabulous. I would suggest not paying extra for the "coordination" package. Since it took days (sometimes weeks) to hear back, we pretty much did it all anyway! Overall, they're really nice people, we were just under the impression that we were really low on their priority list. It kind of sucks since it's the bulk of the cost for the whole day! Oh well!

Great service to begin with during the planning process. At one point they "didn't see one of my emails" and seemed to forget we already paid and had a signed contract. They forgot a major component of a food station and one of the drinks as well. He servers enjoy serving themselves during the reception in plain view. The person in charge even had the nerve to ask my father for a beer. Horrible service and standard food for an okay price. Splurge on your caterer.

Cafe Catering provided the meal for my wedding reception and I have to say they were not what I expected. I hate to write a bad review but too many things went wrong with this vendor. At first it was great. Our tasting was excellent and Lauren Miller was very nice. I thought I had really found someone perfect for our wedding. Then as it came closer to time we had pricing issues. She actually made a mathematical mistake on my costing which is what we had budgeted (and signed) for so when it came down to the final week to pay, she said we owed way more than we thought. It would have been different if she had said hey I made a mistake on your sheet, I'm sorry. But no, she acted like I should have checked her math and actually said “It's just basic math!” Well I have a degree, I can add but why would I think I had to go behind a presumably educated person and check their math. And really we are nice people; we didn't see the mistake and say hey we will say it's her fault. But when you are down to the wire on a wedding, another $500 can break the bank. I was so upset to tell my parents that we owed more money after everything they had spent already. And unfortunately, Lauren had no sympathy, not even to apologize for her mistake let alone cut us any deals for it. Her argument was that it was just a costing not a final contract. Well she NEVER gave me a final contract/print-out nothing. How was I supposed to know the correct cost if that was the case?

Then the food... At the tasting it was outstanding. But at the wedding it was definitely lacking. I was told that the food would arrive prepared. But it was NOT. They packed into our kitchen to prepare the food which we were not ready for at all. They heated up the entire house and then ran the AC until it froze and cut off. So my cocktail hour, which was in the great room adjacent to the kitchen, was unbearable. My guests were sweating and wanting to go outside. They parked their huge truck right in front of the front door where all the guests were coming in. I didn't even know about this until after the ceremony when I had to get someone to move it!! Then once everyone finally got to the roof for the dinner, my food was cold!! Everyone said it was good but I know my husband’s and my food was cold. My favorite item was a fried green tomato slider and the bread was so hard I couldn't even eat it. I was so disappointed.

Now the servers and bartender were very nice and they even went around and picked up plates after everyone was finished which I was happy with. And like I said, most of the guests said the food was good but I don't know if they were being nice to me or being truthful. I really hate it all turned out like it did because I was so excited for this menu and this caterer. They were definitely the worst vendor experience I had for the wedding, period. I would NOT recommend this company.

Just be prepared if you want to use this caterer. Make SURE you get a final cost of EVERYTHING!! And make sure you know if the food is actually going to be cooked on site. Hopefully your experience will turn out better than mine. But if you are looking for professionalism, Cafe Catering is not the place to find it.
