The most beautiful wedding thanks to Kim and her team
This was the first and only venue that my (now) husband and I toured. Kim and her team were amazing from start to finish and helped to make our wedding day so special and exactly what we were hoping for.
We booked for 8 hours and ended up with time to spare by doing a noon start time, 3:30 ceremony, and 7:00 send-off. We didn't serve a meal but decided to hire the kitchen staff and day of coordinator - best thing we could have done! I also recommend using Market Street for catering and Meghann for hair!
A huge thank you to everyone at the Chapel at Chestnut Square for making our wedding day so amazing!

The Chapel at Chestnut Square was an amazing venue for my daughter’s wedding. Kim was so easy to work with, so helpful, and so knowledgeable. Not only did I book the venue, but I hired Kim and her staff to do kitchen service, day of coordination and the decor. Everything was perfect! It was so nice to not have to think on the wedding day. Kim communicated well with all of the vendors and everything was seamless. She even gave my daughter and I a look at all of the decor before the wedding started as she said the bride and mother get so busy they miss noticing all of the decorations. I would highly recommend Chestnut Square along with Kim’s services for a wedding.m

Amazing place!

This venue was so amazing. It was so beautiful and l couldn’t have chosen a better one myself. You get a whole square to yourself (chapel, bridal suite, pavilion, reception building). The staff, (in particular) Kim and Missy, were amazing! Kim was fantastic with communicating, when my husband and/or myself had ANY questions whatsoever. Missy was there to help us out during the rehearsal dinner and the entire wedding. She was just so great! I understand how stressful it can be to try and make everything so as smoothly as possible on such a big day, but Missy made sure everything was taken care of in ways I didn’t even think about. I’m so happy to have chosen this venue and I’m so thrilled to brag about the amazing, A1 staff there! It was a brilliant setting to celebrate my husband’s and I’d special day with friends and family. 🤍

My big day
The day me and my husband toured this place we knew this was it for our wedding. I always wanted to get married in a little white chapel. The area is small, intimate, and beautiful. This venue is great for small or large groups. It was a pleasure working with Kim. She answered all my questions in a timely manner and delivered on decor. Everyone talked bout how our theme and everything matched to a T. Kim was a huge help day of the wedding. We ran behind in a few things but was no prob. I had nothing but a great experience here.

Best Small Wedding Experience I Could Have Had
So I am terrible at writing reviews and this is no exception. I’m so sorry to Kim and staff as I am finally getting around to writing the review 1.5 years later....but our experience with Chestnut Square was AMAZING. We wanted a short engagement and were lucky enough that there was an opening during the month we wanted.
The venue is perfect if you want a small, intimate, and fun wedding and reception. What’s also great about the venue is that you have the option of an indoor or outdoor ceremony and if the weather is bad for your outdoor ceremony you can change to indoors, which is what we had to do. One of my other favorite things about the venue is you can really make the reception about y’all as a couple. We love to play games and knew our friends (and my husband) would want to play bean bag (corn hole for the Texans). We were able to set up our boards and giant jenga for our guests who didn’t want to dance.
Kim also makes wedding planning as stress free as possible. There’s several options on how to handle your decorations including Kim handling everything for you, which I decided to do after feeling very overwhelmed. We met for a meeting to discuss overall my preferences and the feeling I wanted the reception to have. I gave her access to my Pinterest board and with those two things she developed a vision board and created the perfect floral arrangements and decorations for our reception.
I really can’t recommend Chestnut Square and Kim enough.

Me and my husband were wanting a small cozy and elegant venue for our wedding and chestnut square went above and beyond what we imagined. I’m a wedding florist so I’ve seen tons of venues and I honestly can say I wouldn’t have wanted my wedding anywhere else. Kim was wonderful to work with and the kitchen staff was so kind and hospitality. They kept the venue extremely clean and the character that Chestnut square has is unbeatable. If you’re wanting an elegant, beautiful, and a great bang for your buck Chestnut Square is your wedding venue. Again I can’t stress enough how kind and flexible Kim and the wait staff is, I’ve seen a lot of great weddings but they made everything go so so smooth and I didn’t have to sweat about a thing. Smoothest wedding planning
As soon as we walked onto property we were blown away with the romantic and historic feel of the chapel, pavilion, and dining house. Looked like a lovely piece of history frozen in time. We had a small wedding (30 people) and this venue fit us perfectly. It was small enough to make our wedding feel intimate but also have plenty of room for dancing and catching up with family members. The coordinator, Kim, was amazing. She helped us from beginning to end. She answered every question we had (there were a lot) and she did so with a smile on her face! We highly recommend this venue to smaller weddings but can also hold more.

We fell in love with the venue and all the options. You can get married inside or outside and there is indoor and outdoor reception space. We loved the feel and look of the area and really were excited that you get so much space, but are still so close to the downtown area. Kim showed us around and we knew this venue was the one for our wedding! Some other selling points were being able to bring in our own vendors, the day of coordination package and that we could hire Kim to do our decorations. We went with a package that included with decorations, kitchen staff and rehearsal dinner. Kim met with my mom and I many times to make sure that the decor, timeline and overall day was exactly what I wanted. The day of our rehearsal it poured rain and when we were not going to be able to have our dinner outside, Kim made arrangements quickly and easily for us to be moved under the pavilion. When our wedding day came it was sunny and gorgeous and everything was more beautiful than I had explained or dreamed. The decor was perfect, the kitchen staff was friendly and helpful and the timeline was executed flawlessly. Almost every wedding I have been to ran late or had some hiccups. Kim made sure that everything was perfectly on time and that there was not a single issue. We loved our wedding at Chestnut Square and wish we could go back and do it all again!!

We had a beautiful ceremony and reception!! We did opt for the additional packages offered for decor and clean up and it was an EXCELLENT decision! I absolutely recommend getting them. It takes away so many “to-do’s”. Kim was wonderful to work with and knows her stuff! The venue was beautiful and the staff were so attentive. If you are looking for a location rich in tradition and personal touch you can’t go wrong by selecting Chestnut Square.

kim went above and beyond to help me the day of ! i recommend this venue! recently remodeled, but still in keeping with the historical beauty of it. very reasonable in pricing, but i would truly stress, how kim went out of her way, to make sure everything was on point! down to steeming our dresses so my maid of honor could get ready. her decorating skills are awesome too! everything on my wedding was perfect, and thats how i will remember my wedding day.. I honestly don’t think you can find a better wedding venue than Chestnut Square in McKinney. We looked at so many places prior to finding Chestnut Square (C.S.) and when we first laid eyes on the property, we knew it was for us! The grounds are laid out perfectly and you have the option of how you’d like to utilize the space. The venue is laid out over an entire block in historic McKinney. There is a beautiful Chapel that we were had our ceremony in, and they also have a garden outside should you prefer to get married outdoors. The bride suite was to die for; it was inside one of the older houses on the property and set up for the entire bridal party. The reception hall was a stone’s throw away from the chapel and Kim, the event manager and day of coordinator, guided guests there as we left to take our photos. They also have a covered outdoor pavilion that we utilized as our “party area” and danced the night away with our family and friends. Kim was amazing and honestly saved us from getting a wedding coordinator. Her services alone would be a reason to choose C.S. over other venues. She coordinated with our DJ, our photographers, our guests, our vendors, etc. to make sure everything flowed seamlessly throughout the evening; she even rang the chapel bell during our first kiss! We are so happy to have found Chestnut Square and we hope you will be too!

We used the Dulaney House for our birthday event. It was great!! Kim was great and so flexible with our event! Would recommend to anyone! It would make a great place for a reception. The patio was perfect for everyone to hang out - but if the weather had been bad - we would have had room inside and on the wrap around porch to hang out.

This is such a unique venue! We were looking for a whimsical, non-stuffy, casually-cool venue to share with our special guests and we found it at Chestnut Square. Compared to other venues in the area we felt like this one represented our style without compromising our budget. Kim Ducote, the director, was very responsive anytime we texted her with questions. They truly are pros at Chestnut Square and know the venue well. They anticipate and correct anything that might dampen the spirit of the day. It ended up being unseasonably cold on our wedding day. No problem. The curtains were closed and a standing heater was installed so our guests could enjoy dancing in the pavilion. I think they could improve the flow to the Bevel House reception hall. I don't think all of our guests knew we would be serving dinner inside so many left early. If there is a way to provide a view from the Pavilion to the reception hall via a well lit window or maybe a glass door up the steps near the kitchen, I think that would help. More permanent signage around the Bevel House on the Pavilion side would be beneficial as well.
Our ceremony was literally perfect. The little chapel was so quaint and charming. The ringing of the bells was really special during our kiss. It was all so lovely. Thank you, Chestnut Square.

Kim and her staff took wonderful care of us for my son's wedding last weekend. Kim kept me calm and organized. The venue was beautiful. The chapel is quaint, the Bevel House for the reception is beautiful and the guest really enjoyed the time outside under the gazebo for dancing and visiting. Where do I start! Kim was amazing to work with and even though we are currently living in Australia, she made it so easy to organise everything from afar. My daughter’s wedding could not have run more smoothly. Kim and her crew were amazing. Every detail was just as we had planned and the ladies attending to food and service were wonderful. Several guests specifically commented on how friendly and unintrusive they were as they cleaned. The bride and groom felt like it was perfect and the guests all felt it was over too soon. We chose to have Kim manage the entire event. I highly recommend her. We were able to fully enjoy the day knowing she had all the details under control.
Our guests also loved being able to go directly from the chapel for the wedding to the reception on site. Having the option to do everything in one place was so much easier and relaxing for the wedding party.

We had a wonderful wedding at Chestnut Square. The chapel is beautiful - we had a family-only wedding, and the 1908 building gave us a classy, classic chapel for our ceremony. Kim was so easy to work with - returned calls immediately, gave good recommendations on flowers, was so helpful and professional. The Johnson House was lovely for the bride to prepare in. And the chapel bells as they were pronounced man and wife were beautiful! We couldn't have been happier with Chestnut Square and Kim.

We worked with Kim from start to finish to make our wedding happen. She responded to my millions of questions so quickly in the months leading up to the wedding that it blew my mind! She was also there on the day to make sure there were no last minute issues and to keep us on track. Chestnut Square was absolutely perfect for my daughter's wedding on July 10th. Kim was so helpful all along the way; responding to multiple emails promptly and patiently ;-). Kim knows I had a lot of emails....maybe more than the average mom, haha. I appreciate her humor. The wedding was beautiful and the setting was over the top perfect. I felt very comfortable knowing Kim was there, overseeing the reception. Food just appeared, plates were removed and I hardly noticed. It was absolutely wonderful to relax and enjoy our guests and the bride and groom. The whole day was a dream and I will cherish it forever! Everyone loved the grounds, the ladies loved the Johnson House, and the chapel is precious. Everything, and I mean everything was perfect for our family gathering. It was a day to remember.

I cannot say enough about this location. Everything was beyond perfect and everyone enjoyed themselves (including my husband and myself). There is nothing about my wedding that wish I would have done differently because it went so well! My husband and I looked for months at different venues and this was the only one we felt at home with; it also fit in with our budget perfectly! The Chapel at Chestnut Square really is a wonderful place to get married. It has alot of character and charm, and is nice for a smaller, intimate wedding. Kim and her team are great to work with, and the grounds around the chapel make for beautiful backdrop for wedding pictures with your wedding party, family, or first look. Kim was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was very knowledgeable about the venue and did a wonderful job with the decorations. They were beautiful and exactly what I envisioned. My wedding was the last in a long string of weddings over the weekend and she didn't miss a beat. Her staff was extremely fast, efficient and helpful. Even with a mishap with our caterer, Kim and her staff were able to pull things together so that I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day. My guests loved the venue and we received lots of compliments about the chapel and reception area. I would definitely recommend this venue to others. We loved Chestnut Square. The venue was perfect for our small cozy wedding. Kim was fantastic to work with. She always quickly responded to my emails when I had questions. The venue has different decor packages that could be tailored to the look we were going for with our wedding. The best part was that Kim took care of those details and prepped all the decor. My husband and I were able to just enjoy the day and not spend time running around making sure the decorations were set up. Kim was great at organizing everyone at the rehearsal. We were in and out of there in less than an hour. She knows what she is doing and is a great resource. She had many suggestions on bakers, florists, and caterers that helped us stay within our budget. Kim made all the planning leading up to our special day so easy and no stress! Having the ceremony and reception all in the same place was great for us and our guests. If you are looking for a small cozy venue this is the place for you.

She provided beautiful decor and we were so glad we hired her to put it all together. We didn't have to worry about anything the day of! Even though there were many weddings taking place that month, Kim still made us feel like we were very important clients. This wedding was a second time for both of us and neither of us had a formal wedding before. Kim was absolutely wonderful!! She answered all of our questions and believe me I had a lot of them. She was patient, including the day of the wedding when I was a giant lunatic. She was so accommodating with our special requests and more questions. I simply could not have done this wedding without Kim and the wait staff's help. If you are looking for a beautiful venue for your wedding and are working on a budget The Chapel at Chestnut Square has a package to fit just about any budget someone might have. We looked all over the Dallas and N. Texas area, believe me I know what is out there. Nothing compares to this location and staff.

If you are looking for a DIY venue, this is the place. However they do offer decoration packages and kitchen help. I will be having my wedding there in January and so far everything has gone great. We had to switch our wedding date, but no extra charge was applied beyond the set fee for that specific day. If you need any questions answered you can email Kim and she will respond usually within minutes! Really great customer service, and all the stipulations of the contract are explained fully before you sign any papers. I will have to come back and write more after the wedding, but so far I have zero complaints about this place.

This is a really neat venue. The chapel was the first thing that drew me to the location and was the little white chapel we were looking for. With the rental, you get the whole venue all day, which was really nice. There are three building with a little garden area and pavilion: the church, reception building, and bridal house. The grooms can get ready in the chapel. Kim was great to work with. She was not pushy and was honest. It was definitely not a sales pitch of a meeting. They have great add on packages which were reasonable and I have a feeling Kim does a WONDERFUL job with. Chestnut Square really fit our budget and allowed for a complete DIY if you should chose. We chose not to do our wedding here only because we felt our wedding was growing too big to be hosted here (130-150) and wanted the option of having most everyone in the same room. Go look though, they sell out fast!

As a longtime McKinney resident I've always had a love for Chestnut Square as an organization so it meant a lot to have my wedding there. Kim as the wedding manager was always available with questions and made the planning process as painless as possible. The site is set up so well for the wedding to lead easily to the reception, and it had exactly the feel that we wanted from start to finish. Becky Aly, who works at the venue, did my bouquets and just nailed it. I was so in love with everything! Chestnut Square did an incredible job with the decorations, the service, help with cleanup. I loved them all. Everyone was so helpful and thoughtful. As the mother of the bride, which is stressful enough, they were a blessing to me. We had the wedding and the reception there and everything was 99% perfect. They could have placed the guest gifts in a more lighted area but it didn't impact the event. My daughter was so happy and we all had a wonderful time. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for either an indoor or outdoor event.

I can't begin to express my gratitude to Kim, the wedding sales and coordination manager at Chestnut Square. She was so understanding, flexible, kind, helpful...I could go on and on! The wedding venue was charming and very picturesque! The outside photos are just fabulous! It's a very rustic, old Texas style chapel...certainly NOT for everyone , but perfect for our needs. When I saw the venue for the first time I knew it was for us. It was perfect! Kim was amazing and always available for questions. I ended up hiring the kitchen staff and it ended up being the best decision. They kept everything stocked and looking beautiful, but did it without being noticed. Kim captured the vision I had the for wedding perfectly. I could not have been more pleased and everyone said everything was beautiful. I didn't have to worry about a thing, the details were impeccable. So happy with the way it turned out, and it exceeded my expectations. My decor was shabby chic/ rustic elegance.

My wedding and reception was held here in the middle of may and could not have been more perfect! The venue is absolutely beautiful and well kept. Our wedding had a Vintage chic theme and worked really well with the original nature of the property. We originally hoped to be married outside in the beautiful rose garden but as our wedding guest list grew we ultimately decided to move into the chapel and we were glad we did. There are so many great photo op places at this venue and with the way the buildings are set the ceremony to reception flows seamlessly.
Kim is such a treat to work with and provides the absolute best service. She coordinated the entire wedding ceremony and made sure everyone knew their duties and places. During the reception she was there to make sure the staff was on task and to help out with whatever needed to be done. Our wedding went on without a hitch because of her. She goes above and beyond for every couple and is truly there to turn your wedding dreams into a reality. Kim is professional, easy to get a long with, organized and has a great can-do attitude!!!
We are so thankful for this venue and the staff we worked with during our planning time and wedding at Chestnut Square. Every staff member we met was so nice and professional and made our wedding perfect! Thank you Chestnut Square!!

My wedding was at Chestnut Square in McKinney, Texas. It is a historical village that gives a Victorian feeling to it. The chapel is over 100 years old. The venue is absolutely beautiful and well kept. My husband and I could not have asked for a better venue to get married at. The staff (Kim) was always a pleasure to work with. She was very helpful in providing answers to all my questions.
This is absolutely a must check out venue for any wedding.

This venue was the perfect size and style for our vintage wedding. We had about 90 guests (including the wedding party) and there was plenty of space for both the ceremony (in the chapel) and reception (indoor/outdoor near Bevel House). And brides, you get an entire house for the bridal suite where you'll be getting ready for your big day! All of the venue grounds make for BEAUTIFUL photos if you are wanting a vintage look. Even if you're not, their facility is still stunning and incredibly charming.
This venue is also within walking distance of historic Downtown McKinney, which offers an array of wonderful options for your rehearsal dinner. We had ours at The Pantry Restaurant.
Our on-site "day of" wedding coordinator, Becky, did such a fantastic job and eliminated any chance of stress or panic for our wedding day. She made everything flow seamlessly and thinks two steps ahead of you the entire time. I cannot emphasize how much of a difference it made to have her there!!
In-house decorating is also available for ceremony and/or reception (not included in venue cost, but worth it).

I had my gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception here. I went for the classic vintage look. The white clapboard, steepled church was puuuurfect! I loved the ladies at Moonlight Events that coordinated and decorated. You should see the pics! Above my hopes and expectations.

We loved Chestnut Square it was the perfect venue for our wedding especially if you have a group of dancers and non-dancers. The inside / outside set up of the venue is perfect for people to be able to sit inside away from the music if they would like to talk. They have a variety of services so if you wanted to DIY everything you could or you could utilize their staff for clean up, serving, etc. Kim is very responsive and quick to answer any questions you may have.

Classic & Elegant Venue
Chestnut Square was the perfect place and set-up for our wedding. Classic and elegant with gorgeous backdrops for photos. With the reception in the old farmhouse, it is easy to decorate in a manner to re-use decor and decorations in your home. Would choose this place over and over!

I struggled to find a historical venue that offered decoration and staff services for my casual, small wedding until I found Chestnut Square. I loved having the option to bring in our own food and alcohol without having to worry about decorating and setting up tables or hiring catering staff. Kim, our contact and day of coordinator, was easy to contact when small questions came up and was quick in calling me back. I felt like she listened to my concerns and what I wanted out of my wedding day.
I was worried about how our wedding was going to come together but I shouldn't have. Kim and the staff at Tying the Knot were so professional. Our buffet set up and cake display looked polished, the chapel decorations were beautiful, and we got a ton of positive feedback from our guests. A definite recommend.

It was a pleasure to work with Kim. Her vision for what I wanted for my wedding was spot on! The decorations were perfect for my rustic fall vineyard theme. Every aspect was beautiful! The Chapel was simple and quaint. The indoor/outdoor reception was perfect for dinner & dancing, and the Victorian house for my bridal preparations was lovely. My guests couldn't stop raving about how beautiful everything was & what a fun time they had. After much research for a venue, Chestnut Square is a great value for its quality , service, & appeal. You can pay one price for just the venue and do your own decorations or I chose to do the package that included decorations + servers. I chose this venue because I could bring in my own catering & beverages which cuts down the cost. Thank you for making our wedding so special!

We held our ceremony here (reception elsewhere) and I am so glad we did. It turned out so nice and the perfect size for our 70'ish guests. The ambiance was great too. We utilized both the houses for both parties to get ready in and that was such a wonderful bonus. Kim was great to work with and any snag that came along in the planning, she quickly fixed. I'd recommend this spot for anyone. Kim had the ceremony running smoothly and on time. She is on top of her game, very professional and easy to work with.

Beautiful venue with personalized planning and package deals for the wedding of your dreams!
The chapel and reception venue is beautiful, and you can customize the chapel with packages for your needs.
I highly recommend getting the catering staff add on package. They will set everything up for you, clean up all the leftovers, and make sure you have the perfect experience. The coordinators are very experienced and trained, and are advocates for your vision.
Compared to other package deal weddings from big companies, this one is far more affordable, more customizable, and felt like they truly cared about me as the bride.

My wedding was beautiful and Kim was amazing. I believe this is the perfect venue for anyone wanting to go DIY on decor but not do EVERYTHING themselves. Thank you for making it special.

I had a ton of questions and Kim was extremely helpful! She helped me to determine a good layout for the reception and she helped me tweak my timeline. That was especially helpful, because I had no idea what to expect! The venue is beautiful and the service just makes it that much better.

Chestnut Square is a group of beautiful historic homes that provide an ideal location for weddings and reception. We did our rehearsal dinner there as well. The ladies there are wonderful to deal with. I primarily worked with Laurie and Julie and both were great. They answered questions I had in a timely manner and made useful suggestions. Although they are not the least expensive venue, they offered perks that I could not find anywhere else. Since they are a non-profit organization, they offered a tax deductible receipt for the site fees which were considered a donation to the site. They also offered tours in between the ceremony and reception. This was a unique way to entertain our guests while we were having pictures made. The site offers all the chairs, linens, and tables included with the site and they do the set-up. Overall, Chestnut Square was the perfect site for my dream wedding.

A charming, picturesque place to hold a wedding, reception, and even rehearsal dinner. Due to the age of the buildings, bathrooms were at a minimum. The staff was accomodating and friendly. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

The venue was very cute. The Bridal house did need a bit better air conditioning, but they were very accomodating with everything that we asked. We loved it for our DIY wedding:)
