A Stand-Out Team!
Chris and Shawna were a delight to work with from the initial meeting to our wedding day. We valued being able to have low stress conversations regarding wedding details and our shared nerdy interest. It never seemed like they were there to just take pictures, record videos and be done. They were there to truly capture the vision and make a lasting impact on us as the couple and everyone who was a part of our special day. They know how to make you feel comfortable and have fun at the same time. The whole experience was easy and felt like we were working with friends! We could not recommend Chris and Shawna more!

Professional, brilliant, efficient, and fun! What a joy it was to have Shawna and Chris photograph our wedding! Everyone at the wedding mentioned how much of a joy it was to have them around. They are truly a great bang for your buck! We only had a brida suite at the venue so my husband had to get dressed with his groomsmen at the hotel. Shawna stayed with me and the bridesmaids to get content while Chris met at the hotel to capture the guys getting ready. They kept to our tight schedule with ease and worked together to get some amazing shots. Before the big day they send a questionnaire a few weeks out that helps them capture your vision for the day ahead of time. So glad we decided to go with them and would love to do something again with them in the future! Highly recommend you hire them! -

Choosing Chris and Shawna as our wedding photographers was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! They consistently went above and beyond all our expectations.
From the very beginning, they made us feel completely at ease. Throughout the entire planning process and on the big day itself, we never once worried about our photos because we knew we were in the absolute best hands. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were unmatched.
Chris and Shawna truly thought of everything. They didn’t just show up and take beautiful photos (which they absolutely did!) — they were present, supportive, and attentive to every little detail. Chris even helped the groomsmen put on their boutonnieres when none of them knew how. That perfectly captures who they are: so thoughtful and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. They made us, our family, and our friends feel comfortable and genuinely cared for.
We love them and truly cannot recommend them enough. If you’re considering booking Chris and Shawna, do it — you will be so grateful you did. They are simply the BEST! -

Shawna and Chris are excellent and provided us with incredible photos and videos of our dream wedding day. They are both kind, easy to work with, flexible, and responsive. They talked us through all of our package options and even allowed us to add video of our ceremony, speeches, and dances at the last minute. They provide an excellent value for the quality and quantity of images they provide.
My husband was a bit shy and uncomfortable with getting his picture taken, but Shawna and Chris made him feel comfortable and helped him loosen up! They really tried to get to know us and get a feel for who we are and what we wanted our photos to look like. They learned about us as people and our relationship, and I feel like that is captured in our photos. The photos feel genuine, not posed. I also loved that they weren't overly serious which allowed us (and our friends and family) to loosen up and have fun throughout our wedding day.
Their photography is stunning and vibrant - not overly washed out - which is exactly what we wanted. They were receptive to our ideas about where we wanted our photos, and what we wanted them to look like. During our engagement pictures, we went to several different locations throughout colonial Williamsburg and even had an outfit change! We also recently received the videos of our wedding day (it was a super quick turn around!) and they are also stunning and perfectly captured. I can't wait to watch the video of our ceremony for years to come. -

They were amazing!
We hate taking pictures, so we were dreading the photography part of our wedding. BUT Shawna and Chris made that part easy, fun, and comfortable!
Their communication was top-notch. They are friendly, professional, and captured moments we didn’t even notice ourselves during the wedding.
The pictures they took turned out so much better than I could have imagined! We are so happy with went with them and would not change a thing!

Chris & Shawna were both incredible to work with - we are so happy that we chose them for our photographer + videographer team. From our first call with them, they were so friendly and really wanted to get to know us as a couple. They also answered our many questions and put us at ease. They were great about doing a call leading up to the wedding to ensure we got all of the shots we wanted the day of. On our wedding day, they were so fun to hang out with, constantly making us laugh and making us feel comfortable. They were great about suggesting locations and happy to take video and photos in all of the places we wanted as well. As soon as we got the sneak peek photos, we knew we were going to be happy with the results as well! Shawna captured so many amazing photos that we are so excited to share and print out. And we couldn't be happier with the video - it was an amazing way to relive our day and made us (and our families) cry! Chris did a great job of capturing our personalities and all of the beautiful highlights to help us remember our big day. We also loved the Instagram reels they created - they were such a great way to share out snippets of our big day. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with this awesome team! -

Shawna and Chris were the absolute best photographers we could have ever hoped for! We would 1000% hire them again in a heartbeat, they were the best vendor we could have ever asked for. The photos are beyond stunning! We've gotten so many compliments that our wedding photos look like they came from an industry magazine (attached some of our favorites). Beyond just the incredible work and professionalism, you won't meet two better people to spend time with. They are kind, patient, and always know exactly what to say to get you to smile or laugh. They made us comfortable in an unfamiliar situation and that shone through clearly in the amazing results. We recommend them to all of our family and friends, and truly can't say enough good things. We hired Chris and Shawna to be our videographers for our November wedding. Not only are they so talented at what they do, but they make the whole process so fun! My husband is one to not particularly enjoy standing in front of a camera, but Chris and Shawna kept him and his groomsmen genuinely laughing the entire time. They were so discreet during the ceremony, I really do not know how they got all the shots they did! If I had any advice for any new bride/groom, hire Chris and Shawna to be apart of your big day, you will not regret it! -

We met at a wedding vendor market, and between personality and quality of work, I was sold. My brother in law is also a pro photographer, so we got his input, and he agreed: Shawna and Chris were perfect for our wedding. They are so much fun, and so kind and accommodating. Our engagement pictures were stunning, and as it got closer to the wedding, Shawna called me one afternoon when I was panicked about a timeline, and we talked it through. The day of, they just made everything so perfect, and we have seen our sneak peek photos, and when I say I cannot wait to see the rest after the sneaks, I am just chomping at the bit for the rest. And I know our wedding video is going to be the most amazing capture of our day as well. I highly recommend Fredericks Photo and Films. You will not be disappointed!! -

Chris and Shawna are truly incredible! Jeremy and I reached out to Chris and Shawna when we were living out of state. They set up a FaceTime call for us to meet them and discuss our wedding vision. We appreciated their personal approach to meeting us virtually. We went from living out of state, the COVID pandemic, changing our wedding date AND moving to VA all in a year timeframe and they supported us a long the way. The first time we met them in person was for our engagement photos. Chris and Shawna are a great duo team. They made us feel so comfortable and had fun along the way. Our engagement pictures turned out INCREDIBLE, I couldn’t wait for them to capture our wedding day. Our wedding day came and went so fast, I was worried that I may have missed a few shots that I had envisioned. When getting our wedding pictures back I was SO THANKFUL. Chris and Shawna snapped the best pictures all throughout the day and helped us re-live our wedding day from start to finish. Chris is great crowd control and makes everything flow well as Shawna captures the amazing shots. The couple shares duties and does whatever needed to make the Bride and Groom happy! They are so easy to get along with, easy to communicate with, creative and truly professional. We will definitely keep in touch with Chris and Shawna and support their small business. I followed Shawna on Instagram for a while and always loved her work! When it came time to plan my wedding Shawna was available for our destination wedding. But covid had other plans. We decided to elope in the mountains of Virginia. Our love wasn’t canceled! It was the best decision having her capture our day. I couldn’t believe how many images she captured. Shawna was always super quick to answer questions and get back to me on details. She was super flexible with me as we changed plans a tad with the elopement. Client experience was freaking incredible. I literally relive our big day every time I look at our photos. I can’t help but look at them everyday either. Shawna, you’re amazing at what you do girl! I can’t thank you enough for making our elopement a dream come true. I still can’t believe these are my wedding photos!! She will be my go to photographer in the future for family photos! -

Great Experience
We could not imagine having anyone else capture our big day! Chris and Shawna were super helpful in picking out spots for photos including our engagement session and wedding. We got TONS of photos back and they were very quick getting them to us for both our engagement session and wedding. Even low light dancing photos looked amazing. It was really helpful having two photographer because they could capture more moments. Especially for things where you want two angles like first looks. They worked well with all our vendors and they made us feel like naturals in front of their cameras. Chris and Shawna were a pleasure to work with and we would definitely recommend them! -

Let’s get the quality of photos out of the way, they are amazing. We were excited to get our engagement photos and when we did, we were stunned. You may feel goofy being instructed to nuzzle your face into your fiance’s but when you see the results you won’t be disappointed. If you’re looking for a videographer to capture your greatest moments, you need to hire Chris and Shawna! They are amazing people and do incredible work!
We met them at a wedding expo and instantly fell in love with their body of work. Chris and Shawna were flexible and easy to reach from beginning to end, and always happy to answer our questions. After booking them to film our wedding, we mentioned that we were planning a trip to visit our venue. Without missing a beat, Chris and Shawna seized the opportunity to preview our venue far in advance of the wedding day and generously offered to meet us there and film a short engagement video for us. Not only were we thrilled to receive such an incredible gift, but we also appreciated the opportunity to work with them and preview their work early on. When the day came, we had such a blast! Chris are a dynamic duo. He’s funny and she’s sweet and they work so well together to direct and provide clear instructions that make you feel super comfortable. Not to mention, the engagement film they produced seriously blew us away!
On the day of our wedding, Chris and Shawna were total angels! They arrived early and got right to work. They had minimal needs and were never disruptive to us, the guests, or other vendors. They were delightfully patient, pleasant, and professional throughout the full 8+ hours of filming. And they were even a source of serenity during moments of chaos and stress. Moreover, the wedding film they produced literally encapsulates how euphoric and dream-like our wedding day was. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to relive those magical feelings again and we know that as time passes and our memories fade, we’ll always be able to relive our magical day through our gorgeous films.
If you are on the fence about hiring a videographer, don’t be! Take it from us, it’s worth it! We absolutely LOVE our photos but they don’t capture the full spectrum of emotions that our wedding film does. It was 1000% worth hiring Chris and Shawna to film our special day. We’ve already watched our films dozens of times and shared them with our loved ones. We’ll let our films speak for themselves.

This pair is phenomenal!!
Where do I begin!? From the moment we met Chris and Shawna, we knew they were the photographers for us! They were so sweet, professional, and down to earth. They made us feel so comfortable and by the end of our wedding we felt like they were some of our best friends!! They worked SO well side by side with our videographer that people assumed they came as a packaged deal! Because they are a husband and wife team, Chris spent the morning hanging with the guys and Shawna spent the morning hanging with the girls and they made sure to capture every little moment before the wedding. They were flexible and easy going when (surprise!) the girls were an hour late getting to the first look. They were unobtrusive during the whole evening yet seemed to catch each and every sweet moment! Shawna was very quick to get the photos back to us and is extremely easy and quick to communicate with. I cant recommend these two enough, best decision we ever made!! -
