Elise and her bandmates were the exact fit for my wedding this past weekend. She was incredibly understanding and flexible throughout the planning process, even as the date and venue changed while I searched for my perfect spot. She was on board with making sure my dream came true. She took time to connect with the DJ, was willing to relocate to the reception site after the ceremony, sent us plenty of options to select from and helped find Bob the bagpiper to create the perfect vibe. The Celtic Music Dream
It is with great appreciation and enthusiasm that our family positively reviews Celtic Music for All Occasions.
With the bride’s wish for her wedding ceremony to feature live Irish Celtic music, the search began and ended with Elise Kress and her special group of musicians.
Communication from zoom meetings to phone calls and texts was excellent. Elise listened to the dream and executed a flawless plan at Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Juno Beach, Florida in November 2025.
Several requested pieces of music were learned and the band also graciously allowed the bride to join in with her flute during cocktails- surprising the guests!
The musicians, Elise, Julia, Stewart, and Andrew were professionally talented and became an extended part of our family during the wedding weekend, making the event especially memorable!

Celtic Music for All Occasions were a delight to work with and really made our wedding beautiful. They were kind, enthusiastic, patient, and listened closely to our tailored requests. Joyous and Beautiful!
As we were thinking about live musicians for our wedding, we both knew we liked Celtic music and on a whim, we decided to see if anyone did that, and we are so happy we found Elise and her troupe! It was delightful working with her to come up with a program, and during a time when we exchanged so many emails with our vendors, her responsiveness stood out and her friendly notes were always welcome. We had an unusual request to have a bagpiper lead us on a procession from the site of our ceremony on a small walk through our venue property to the site of our reception. Elise made it all work wonderfully and the piper playing along our procession delighted us and our guests. My husband wanted to hear live renditions of a handful of his favorite video game pieces, and Elise worked with him to get all the custom songs he wanted and she and her musicians did a great job adapting and performing them in her lovely Celtic style. Her musicians played a mix of the requested songs and traditional Celtic tunes for our ceremony and they sounded great despite the added challenge of a windy afternoon! We knew we wouldn’t have as much time to listen as they played through our cocktail hour, but Elise made sure that as soon as she saw we did have time, she played the custom music we asked for. Her joyous and lovely music was exactly what we were looking for and made memories for a lifetime. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Pure Magic!
We hired a five-piece ensemble for our wedding, and they played before the ceremony, our recessional, reception cocktail hour, "first dance," and during dinner. The music was beautiful, and not only were the musicians exceptional and first-rate professionally, they seemed to enjoy themselves, too, rather than simply playing another "gig." The coordinator, Elise Kress, was instrumental in helping us plan the music portion of the wedding and reception. Our guests were as impressed and as enchanted as we were. Gorgeous music and talented musicians!
USA bride and UK groom, living in Manchester and getting married in Virginia we had a very unique vision for our wedding, and having a ceilidh was a high priority. When we met Elise (on Skype) we knew our vision was going to be a dream come true! Elise was so much fun to work with and was very flexible. Elise and the musicians that she brought along with her played for our ceremony, they were able to learn Towers by Bon Iver for my walk out song -it was beautiful! All of our guests commented on how lovely the music sounded during our ceremony (We had a fiddle/guitar/ flute). Then when the ceremony was over and the party was ready to begin Elise and the other musicians and caller guided us through an unbelievable Irish ceilidh and it was too much fun!!! All of our guests loved it and it is an amazing way to get worlds to collide- the photos are amazing!! Seeing college friends from Colorado dancing with the Groom's father from the UK is soooo much fun!! If you want lovely live music, a very friendly talented group of musicians, and/or a very fun dance party Elise is the perfect fit for you!

If You're a Celtic Music Lover, Elise & Team Are Your Perfect Match!
As a lover of Celtic music, I knew I wanted it to be part of my wedding. Elise was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly responsive & collaborative! On top of using the songs in her and her team's repertoire, I asked if they could play a new, specific song for my walk down the aisle with my Dad and they did and it was perfection! I booked a harp, fiddle and penny whistle flute for my ceremony and cocktail hour. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the harpist could only play at the ceremony and Elise was kind enough to bring in a guitarist for the cocktail hour so guests could still enjoy a variety of Celtic songs. I highly recommend using Elise and Celtic Music for Your Wedding!

10/10 Highly recommend hiring Elise Kress and her wonderful band of Celtic Musicians for your big day! Extremely professional and easy to work with between Elise and the Bride/Groom/Organizer for personalized selection of songs to make your day unique. Elise provided music clips and a mini-personal performance on her flute for song selection via video chat in advance. Elise and her band also adapted non-traditional Celtic Music to play "Concerning Hobbits" for the wedding procession and "A Thousand Years" for the walk of the Father and the Bride with beautiful instrumental tones. Band transitioned spaces from the ceremony to the cocktail hour very smoothly. Guests thoroughly enjoyed the different experience, and stated the Celtic Music added to the magic of the wedding ceremony space!

Elise and team were absolutely incredible to work with! When I first booked with her, she met with me and helped me curate my program of music with lots of guidance. Fun for everyone
My husband and I hired Elise Kress to provide a ceilidh for our wedding reception including four musicians and a dance caller. They were prompt to arrive, set themselves up and were very self-sufficient. The music was very well-performed and having a dance caller made it easy for our guests to join in the dancing. Everyone who danced enjoyed doing so immensely and those who chose to watch were very entertained. We would strongly recommend Elise and company as entertainment that everyone can enjoy.

She and her group completely captured the atmosphere I wanted for the cocktail hour and reception! The music created a lively, fun, and festive atmosphere for our cocktail hour and reception, which was exactly what I wanted! The music was perfect and many of the guests commented on how much they enjoyed it and the celebratory mood it created! For anyone seeking to hire Elise and her band for their wedding, I suggest opting for the caller and the opportunity to learn the group dances. Not having the caller was a missed opportunity to enhance the already great reception experience. Above all, I recommend hiring Elise Kress for any event! She and her band will do a great job!

Elise and her team came recommended by a musician we personally know. Due to the pandemic the wedding was downsized considerably, and we could only accommodate a bagpiper. She recommended a wonderful musician, Bob Mitchell.
We suggested a few tunes and he complemented our choices with tunes from his vast repertoire. His wonderful bagpipe gave a magical touch to the wedding ceremony. We are looking forward to listening to a life concert by Elise and her group in the near future.

This firm helped provide us lovely music for our wedding both for the ceremony and reception outside - as well as a piper as guests were arriving. Elise and her team were top notch, easy to work with and really made an effort to understand exactly what experience we were seeking. Most importantly they played amazingly. Elise and her musicians were FABULOUS on her wedding day. Elise was so extremely pleasant to work with from the very beginning. She set up a phone call for us to go over everything - playing all of the music options both live over the phone with me and also sent recorded versions as well. We hand-picked each song for each part of our ceremony that we wanted to play. She also played for our cocktail hour as well. The music was BEAUTIFUL! We received so many compliments and it was just the perfect cultural touch to bring in our Irish roots to our ceremony and cocktail hour. It was also so different from the cookie cutter selections most people have at their weddings - I loved that ours was true to our heritage, beautiful, and different! Since my husband is from the UK, we loved the idea of having a ceili at our wedding, but we weren’t sure if that would be possible in DC. I'm half Irish and my husband is Italian, so we decided the ceremony and cocktail hour would follow my Irish traditions and the party would follow his. We hired a harpist and a flutist. I'm Irish, but I was not actually familiar with the more traditional tunes, so I needed to research quite a bit. Elise was extremely helpful in her suggestions, and eventually I gave her the reins since she was the expert. I did want two songs played specifically in honor of my father, and they played them beautifully. I walked down the aisle to "Married Life" from the Disney film "Up", which was our overall theme. Unfortunately they were set up on a patio behind the guests, but that was more because the DJ's sound system didn't reach far enough for them to be in front. Overall I'm happy we were able to afford live musicians for the ceremony. It gave it a very special touch and helped me feel a little closer to my dad, who died early 2017.

Beautiful Music!!
My husband and I carried an Irish theme throughout our wedding day so we were both very excited to come across Celtic Music for your Wedding. I wrote to Elise and she was always so prompt in getting back to me, answered all of my many questions, sent beautiful tunes to listen to, and was extremely helpful with narrowing down my song selections for the ceremony. We had the pleasure of meeting with Elise in person before our wedding and got to listen to her play which was such a treat! Not only was Elise such a pleasure to work with, she also added new/non Irish songs to her repertoire, per my request. I chose to have the flute/penny whistle, Celtic Harp and Violin. Elise and her team did a wonderful job. I highly recommend for your big day or any event!!

Absolutely wonderful musicians!
We could not have been happier with Elise and her fellow musicians! Our pre-celebration conversations were delightful - Elise asked lots of thoughtful questions to make sure she understood exactly what we wanted, and then took extra time to design the perfect package to suit our reception. We had a Scottish ceilidh, and each and every musician was prompt, kind, and so talented! We (and our guests!) had a wonderful time dancing along, and we have gotten tons of compliments on the music and dancing since our day. If we ever have the opportunity, we would definitely work with Elise and her group again!

We had an intimate wedding ceremony with just immediate family members and decided late in the game that we wanted to add music. We had some celtic elements in our ceremony (a hand fasting ceremony and my husband wore a kilt) and thought it would be nice to highlight that with some celtic music, which we love as well. We were so grateful that Elise and her colleague Andy were available (I am sure it helped that our wedding was on a Friday :-) ). The music was heavenly and made such an impact for our ceremony.
Elise was so easy to work with, extremely responsive, professional and great with follow up. She made great recommendations for songs to match our ceremony, and helped us select the right mix of instruments to create the sound we wanted without having to add additional musicians so we could keep things intimate. It was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend working with Celtic Music for Your Wedding!

They were incredible! We had a three piece for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and they were stunning. Everyone was complimenting them, and having them was one of the highlights of our day.

Elise and the band were absolutely wonderful for our wedding. Elise was very responsive and is an excellent communicator. I hired the flute, fiddle, and guitar combination. The band showed up on time, played what I asked for the ceremony, had a great song list for the cocktail hour, and are FABULOUS musicians. Their prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering that they have played at the Kennedy Center!! Elise and the band played different songs for the wedding party processional, for me when I walked down the aisle, and then a separate song for the recessional. It was perfect and I loved it. After the ceremony, the band then setup for the cocktail hour. I told Elise that I wanted "Hobbits and Lord of the Dance" type of music and that is exactly what I got! All of our guests loved them. I would absolutely hire them again.

Elise and the Skylark band were a pleasure to work with and their music added so much to our wedding day! We wanted to include some Celtic music on our wedding day as an ode to Scotland, where my husband and I both earned our Master's degrees and were fortunate enough to find Skylark. Elise worked with us on many occasions to select specific songs to play during the ceremony and even coordinated with my mother in law to accompany her during a song she sang in our honor. After dinner, Skylark led our guests in a Ceilidh, which was a unique dancing event that our guests loved. I highly recommend Skylark to any couple looking for a Celtic band to play on their wedding day!

Elise and her two bandmates played our Celtic-Woodland wedding in Pennsylvania in the middle of July and I swear they brought the Irish weather with them! Months ago, when I first reached out to Elise, I knew I'd love her from the start. She was so easy to talk to and walked me through the beautiful music she played over skype and even sent me a CD so I could hear her style. She and her band were flexible with my requests, playing an Irish version of Zac Brown Band's "Home Grown" and Christinia Perri's "A Thousand Years." Our guests were entertained by them during the cocktail hour and the entire set up was something out of a fairytale. I know most wedding website reviews say the same gushing, over the top things about vendors and it gets monotonous. This vendor absolutely deserves every over-the-top thing I could say and more. Elise Kress, and her band "Celtic Music for your Wedding" were superb. She was exquisitely helpful at every stage of the process, clear about pricing, accommodating when we had to change venues relatively late minute, and the music was extremely high quality. She took a request at the wedding itself which we hadn't planned ahead, and sang beautifully. Consummate professional musicians, and a real pleasure to work with.
I won't need to plan another wedding, but I'd hire these folks again in an instant, and if I ever need to plan a party with Irish music again, they'll be the first number I call. I sincerely look forward to the pleasure of hearing them again sometime.

My heritage (as well as the groom's) is Irish, so when we themed our wedding with Irish-related aspects, I knew I wanted traditional Irish music played live. I Googled live traditional Irish bands, and after a short search, landed on the Celtic Music for your Wedding page. I was so excited to reach out to Elise Kress and learn more about her and the band. Meeting her in person and having a live, on-the-spot performance of the music she would play at our wedding sealed the deal for us and even made my cry happy tears! I can't recommend Celtic wedding music enough! I got a harpist and flutist for my garden ceremony. I was dealing primarily with Elise Kress, who played both the flute and tin whistle at the ceremony. We had a skype session before the ceremony where she played a selection of tunes, some from the playlist, and others she played live for us on the spot! I can honestly say picking out music with my fiance and her was one of the most relaxing and fun parts of planning the wedding. My only regret is that I didn't get a videographer so that I could hear the music again just as it was played at the ceremony.

THEY DO CEILIDH MUSIC TOO! They advertise for ceremony music, but we hired this group to kick our reception dancing off with 1.5 hours of ceilidh dancing (Scottish line dancing for those who aren't familiar). The caller the band had was great for both the University of St Andrews guests who are old hat at ceilidh and for newbies, which was most of our guests (inlcuding myself! it was my husband's idea to have the ceilidh band). The music was perfect and the band gave water breaks at appropriate intervals, which I hadn't even thought about. Ceilidh dancing is a workout! My husband and I are so lucky that a venue vendor recommended these guys! The only other ceilidh band I could find in DC was 10 people (and thus expensive) and not so great with returning emails. Elise has been great following up with us through the whole period leading up to our wedding and the whole group was a joy to have on our big day!

This group comes highly recommended for so many reasons. In fact, I would go so far as to say that you are missing out if they're not part of your wedding day or special occasion. Elise was lovely to work with. She is so passionate about music and her passion shines through every note that she plays on her flute. Instead of playing the traditional wedding march, the gorgeous notes from the Celtic Music trio lead me down the aisle to my (Irish) groom and made the day that much more personal and sentimental. It made him so happy to hear his favorite music on our wedding day.
Plus, the price was great and the group is so approachable. You are absolutely missing out if you don't hire Celtic Music!

My husband is also Irish (from Ballinasloe in Co. Galway), so it was a bit of a no-brainer! Elise is so easy to work with and the process of choosing our music was so much fun. My husband and I were invited to her house, where she played a mix of recordings and live music for us to give us an idea of what they could do. We chose our songs on the spot for the processions and recessional. I walked down the aisle to “If Ever You Were Mine”, which felt perfect and so romantic (you can listen to sample on their website). We had a trio (fiddle, guitar, and flute) play some pre-ceremony music, the ceremony, and the cocktail hour. They did such a lovely job and everyone really enjoyed it. It felt like we had a little piece of Ireland at our wedding, which I know meant a lot to my husband. We highly recommend them if you are looking for beautiful and memorable ceremony music!

We used Celtic Music before during and after the wedding We meet with Elise 2 weeks prior and she guided us on types of music to use. On the day of the wedding they arrived early and sounded great. I had many complements on their performance, and I believe their music made the wedding special for all of us.

We had Celtic Music for your Wedding play at our son's groom's dinner. It was a very large group and informal setting. The evening was like what I'd imagine an Irish village celebration with the village musicians playing. The musicians, Elise, Alex and Zan were open, relaxed and quickly made connections with many people in the wedding party. Their selections were excellent and beautifully played. They kept the volume just right - setting the mood for the evening, but unobtrusive. The leader, Elise Kress, in addition to being a fine musician, was a pleasure to deal with. We were from out of state so we did everything by email prior to the dinner. She was warm, accommodating, and quick to respond. Highly recommended.

We found the Celtic Music group at a bridal show, and we couldn't have been happier. we had a meeting with Elise about what music should be played at different parts of the ceremony, during the cocktail hour. lots of choices, and lots of different instrument combinations. My only wish was that i was able to be there the entire time to listen to them, but we had to do pictures and all sorts of things. But it was so wonderful to have them there, and i found it more unique compared to a standard string quartet. :) very pleased.

Elise and the Celtic Musicians were wonderful!!! They played for our ceremony and our cocktail hour and really set the tone for the whole evening. In addition to being incredibly talented and providing great music, Elise and the Celtic Musicians were extremely easy to work with. They were very helpful and responsive. We worked with Elise to select all of the songs for our ceremony which really gave our wedding the personal touch we were hoping for. Overall it was an amazing experience!

I am so happy that I met Elise at a bridal fair and booked her group for our cocktail hour for our July 26 wedding.
I wanted to add a few Irish touches to our wedding day to honor our heritage and this was perfect. We had a harp, flute and guitar and the tunes they played were so beautiful and elegant. Our guests really loved it. The music added to the atmosphere and enhanced the joyfulness of the cocktail hour, making it extra special.
Elise was so pleasant to work with in the months leading up to the wedding and it was nice to be able to listen to the tunes posted on their website in advance. She was very helpful in knowing what would work well for a cocktail hour. She is a true professional and a caring individual and I could tell she cared a lot about making our event the best she could for us and she did!
I now follow the Skylark Celtic Band on Facebook and am interested in attending other performances in the area! Check them out!
I would highly recommend them to anyone! You won't be disappointed!

Celtic Wedding Music, headed by Elise Kress, did a wonderful job for our June wedding ceremony. My husband is Irish and my father in law is a traditional Irish music aficionado. Initially, my father in law was concerned that the musicians were not from Ireland, but after working with Elise to pick some tunes, he was fully confident that they would do an excellent job! Both Elise and the violinist who played for our ceremony were friendly and good spirited about a rain shower that happened just before the ceremony. They arrived early, and the music was perfect! A delight to hear on our wedding day!

I first had the pleasure of watching & hearing the SKYLARKS perform in Oct of 2010 at my son's wedding. It was sweet, lilting and responsive to the mood of a very beautiful day. When I remarried, this past May 24th, I knew there was only one group I wanted to perform at my wedding. The perfect touch!
I chose Celtic Music for Your Wedding for my DC ceremony and cocktail hour in June 2013. Both of our families are from Ireland and the group was a surprise for everyone, but especially for my grandpa and grandma. My mom and I had a meeting with Elise who sat with us to make our music selections. She not only played recorded pieces but she performed live for us on her Irish flute. It was an amazing experience and together we chose each piece for the ceremony.
My family and guests just loved it. During the cocktail hour my grandma and grandpa sat right in front of the musicians, they made personal requests, chatted, and had a great time.
I just want to thank Elise and the other members of the trio for giving my wedding day the perfect touch!

I hired Celtic Music For Your Wedding to play during cocktail hour, preceding my wedding reception. Everyone LOVED them! It was a great way to kick off our reception with a traditional taste of home. Elise was incredibly easy to work with before the event and always responded to my emails quickly. The group's traditional Irish music talents were truly appreciated by my entire extended (and very large Irish-American) family. I told Elise that they were free to play any requests from the guests. This went over so well with my family; in particular, my godfather, made a point to tell me how thrilled he was that they knew and played some of his requests! We thoroughly enjoyed the music, originality, and how well the music matched the setting (we were married in a historical castle). Elise was also wonderful to work with. She worked with us to select music pieces beforehand, and overall was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Also, the cost of this award-winning group was very reasonable. Further, she and the guitar player learned a song that we requested to be played, in just about one week. We very much recommend them to play at a wedding or other forum!!!

It the rush leading up to our wedding, we realized we had been focusing intently on the reception and had not focused on planning the ceremony. When it came time to decide on the wedding music we decidied that live performers would be of value. We both had seen guitars, 3 piece orchestras, etc at other's weddings. Instead, we decided to pursue an Gaelic trio. It just so happened that I googled Irish/Celtic music for your wedding and Elise came up first. I sent her a note, she promptly responded, which is an important mark of a pro in my book (she was as responsive going forward too). We visited with her and were blown away by her playing. We decided to proceed and went about laying out the ceremonies music.
The day of the wedding came and went in a flash. I vaguely remember the music, but the feedback from the 200+ attendees was hugely positive. People loved the trio at the ceremony and the cocktail hour. My Irish family was thrilled and my friends loved the upbeat jigs that followed the wedding. Festive music through and through. I would definitely use them again if the opportunity arose and would whole-heartedly recommend Elise and her stable of musicians to you too!

We chose Elise Kress and Celtic Music for Your Wedding for our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour at the DAR Headquarters in Washington, DC. They were fantastic! Elise and I first chatted on the phone; she emailed me some snippets of their music, and that was enough to sell me. Later we met in her home to choose the specific pieces for the ceremony. I love most Irish music, but the things she played for me moved me to tears repeatedly! I knew this was the right decision for us.
I had plans to do a Celtic handfasting during our vows and, together, Elise and I found the perfect song to divide into two parts and play before and after we "tied the knot." She also provided for this song and has a lovely voice.
We chose a trio--Elise on flute and pennywhistle, Phillipe on fiddle, and Zan on guitar--and set them right up front next to us at the altar. It was very intimate. Then they played during our cocktail reception and numerous guests remarked how good they were. They are very portable and were able to pick up and move their equipment from the ceremony side of the terrace to the cocktail side and perform right there amongst all the guests. My only regret is to have not heard more of them because we were taking wedding photos. Their prices were incredibly reasonable, too, and it was just a joy to have them and their music set the tone of our ceremony and cocktails.

Fantastic! We hired Celtic Music for Your Wedding to play during our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. They were perfect. We had the fabulous trio of Brendan, Alexander, and Pat on flute, fiddle, and guitar. They truly completed the ceremony and added the perfect feeling to the event. We knew we wanted to spark things up with an Irish sound and they were it!
Leading up to the event my husband and I were in contact with and met with Elise. She walked us through the entire process and helped us pick our songs for the day. She was soo helpful and made great suggestions on how to make things flow a little better between all parties involved. And day of, I didn't have to worry about the musicians at all! They were professional and on time and were able to work with my day of coordinator through the details. But in all honesty, they really just seemed to know what they were doing.

I found Elise Kress through a web search and I'm so glad that I did! I contacted Elise and immediately got a reply back. We went over to her house to listen and choose the music for our ceremony and she was so wonderful and patient. She literally played two pieces over and over for me because I couldn't choose. I was so happy on my wedding day when I heard the lovely celtic/irish melodies as I walked down the isle with my father. I asked her a few days before the wedding to ask if I could add on a cocktail hour and Elise was so understanding and I feel like the add-on price was very reasonable and it was worth every penny! My in-laws loved the music so much that they decided to use Elise for their 25th wedding anniversary party. My in-laws will be including the caleigh dance part in their package and I'm really excited! I cannot wait until my husband and I have an excuse to use Elise and her wonderfully talented friends again.

Elise sang two songs at my wedding and played the flute during the recessional (Ode to Joy). The songs were "The Wedding Song" and "In This Life (by Bette Midler). Prior to the wedding she coordinated and rehearsed the music with the harpist who was hired by the venue. She also worked diligently with me to find the right music, never imposing her ideas on mine, but making gentle and helpful suggestions. Not only does Elise sing like an angel, she looks like one! Her bright smile and sparkling eyes are infectious. She is a consummate professional and a very talented musician. I have the sweetest memories of my wedding ... and Elise's participation was a big part of my never-to-be-forgotten wedding. I am so grateful that she and I found each other.
