I didnt get to try any other than the initial cutting the cake, but it was very good with Oreo cookies in it. Guests said best cake ever. -

The best cake ever!

Sonja did my husband and my wedding cake in June 2015. She was so fantastic to work with and designed the most beautiful cake that exceeded all of our expectations. Not only was the cake beautiful- it was the best tasting cake we’ve ever had! We had numerous guests comment about how wonderful the cake tasted and that it was the BEST wedding cake they’ve ever had! In addition, Sonja did our groom’s cake which was sports themed which my husband loved! A year after we got married, Sonja made a replica top of our wedding cake and we were able to pick up a fresh cake which was just as delicious as we remember!! We highly recommend Celebrations by Sonja! We wish we could order one of her cakes for just a Friday night!! : ) -

I have tasted several wedding cakes and without a doubt my favorite is Sonja’s cakes. They are moist, the homemade butter cream icing is to die for. She does everything possible to make sure when you have her cake it is a wonderful experience. If you want a 100% guarantee that your guest will enjoy your wedding cake, go with Celebrations by Sonja.

Celebrations by Sonja was the perfect choice for our wedding cake! As I was planning my wedding from afar, Sonja was great about phone/email communication and insuring that she designed our perfect cake. The final product was beautiful and so delicious! I had so many compliments on how pretty our wedding cake was. We had a white cake with delicious strawberry filling. Also, Sonja was very patient and helpful as I tried to choose a design and cake size to fit the needs of our wedding. All her cakes are beautiful - the hardest part really is choosing which one you want! -

I am beyond grateful that Sonja was able to design my wedding cake. I have known her for YEARS. As a local wedding professional, I have sent bride after bride after bride to her. I have used her for birthday cakes, graduation cakes, etc in the past. When it was time to use her for MY wedding cake, I was beyond excited to see what we could come up with. Sonja met with us, helped us decide what we wanted, and gave us her professional input. I received SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on our cake. We had a 4 tier cake, with 4 different flavors, and it was 100% exactly what we wanted. Our guests not only complimented its beauty...but at the end of the reception...all 4 tiers of it were GONE. Sonja, THANK YOU SO MUCH. She is reasonably priced, but to be honest, I didn't even bother pricing anyone else. She is the very best. -

We ordered a 4 tier white wedding cake with the triple berry filling for our fall wedding and loved it! My husband and I said we didn't want the same ole same ole white cake with fruit filling but after we tried Sonja samples.... we just couldn't resist. Not only did our cake look amazing, it tasted amazing too! The cake showed up to the venue on time with no questions asked and it was perfect. I would highly recommend Celebrations by Sonja to anyone for any special occasion! I wish I could attached a picture to this review to show it off! -

We called Celebrations by Sonja two weeks before our wedding when our original caterer cancelled on us. She met with us and assured us our cake would be beautiful and she would make it at an affordable price, which eased our stress level considerably. She was right.....when we got to the reception, we were overwhelmed. The cake was beyond what we had anticipated! It was absolutely PERFECT and she had done an amazing job setting it up. Everyone raved about how good it was! The cake itself was moist and the filling was delightful. It was definitely the best wedding cake I've eaten. We'll recommend Sonja to anyone needing a cake for a wedding, birthday or any occasion. She truly saved the day for us and we are so grateful! -

I have been in Customer service for over 30 years and my husband has been a Chef for 30 years we both were extremely happy with Celebrations by Sonja from beginning to end, not to mention the cake was amazing. I went to several places in Springfield and was sat at a table to look at a book. NO one took time to sit with me and was always distracted. I went to Sonja and she was so helpful and shared her ideas as well. I appreciated her so much!!!! She made me feel special from day one. We now are using her for special events/functions at my work for our senior living community. Sonja, girl you rock!!!!

We got married four years ago in Branson and had Sonja do the cake. Since I am from Wisconsin and my wife is from Texas we decided to meet there again with my in-laws (good half way point) so they could spend a week with their grandson. First thing we decided to do was order another cake! We had bought plenty of cake for what normal consumption would be, but it was so good that everyone wanted seconds or thirds and we ran out! It's four years later and people still talk about the awesome cake we had at our wedding. We had the white cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing, but if you order it you will want to get extra.

Sonja's was great to work with. The cake was gorgeous and looked exactly like the picture that we showed her as an example. We needed to change the size after we ordered and she made the needed adjustment for us. The cake was delicious as well. All the guests commented on the wonderful fruit filling in each of the layers. I wanted a simple cake with lots of silk flowers. Sonja placed all the flowers on the cake at the venue and I couldn't have been more pleased with the end result. She even took some of the leftover flowers and made a couple other decorations for the gift table. Sonja was very pleasant and professional. The cake looked and tasted great. We wanted to make sure we had the best tasting cake at our wedding. We have been to several weddings where the cake was amazing and some where it wasn't so great. So when we starting looking for our cake, we asked our married friends who they had, and several of them used Sonja! I made an appointment, already knowing we wanted to go with her because we had been in The Wedding Collection. Which is where she is located, and tasted her cake. But after meeting with her to make the plans for the cake, we were sold on her cake. She was flexible and took her time to help us with finding the perfect cake. Book her early, she books up fast!!! -

Sonja made our wedding cake and it was fantastic! I can't tell you how many people came up to us to compliment the cake that night. Most wedding cakes I've tried have been bland and focused more on form than function. Sonja hit both nails on the head: it looked perfect and tasted better. She was great to work with and the cake arrived on time. No problems at all, we highly recommend her. -

I ordered a birthday cake from Charity for my daughters 9th birthday and let me tell you I am a cake decorator and I was blown away. Sonja has the best cakes! They were moist and delicious! She was very easy to work with, too! My fiancé was unable to make the cake test appointment so she sent me home cake for him to try. I changed my design twice and she had no problem changing it! She also came out and set up the fresh flowers on my cake the day of my wedding! I loved working with her and she was very flexible. I came into the shop to pay my remaining balance and found out she doesn't take credit cards. She had no problem extending the due date and letting me send in a check! I would recommend Sonja and her cakes! -

Sonja did a fabulous job on our wedding cake! We just got married at Integrity Hills last week and the cake was the centerpiece display. Absolutely gorgeous!!
We had four tiers-- a square base and 3 round tiers. All layers were different flavors. The first tier was white cake with triple berry filling, second tier was chocolate with cookies n cream filling, the third was marble with coconut filling and the top was plain chocolate cake!
We had a ton of compliments on the cake. It was fresh, moist and the icing was to die for!
Sonja was very professional and super easy to work with. I highly recommend her. -

Very beautiful just what we wanted. 6 months after wedding fire destroyed our entire home and our anniversary cake, Sonja, being the amazing person she is recreated the cake from a picture off my cell phone for our 1 year anniversary it was matched exact to our original!! Sonja did not charge us a thing. You will not be disappointed there is not a cake around that can beat Sonja's. -

I ordered a wedding cake and a grooms cake for my daughters wedding. The cake was the best tasting cake I have ever eaten. It was moist and the filling was exceptional. It is 100% fruit not gelatin and melts in your mouth. Sonja was easy to work with and sat down and drew exactly what my daughter wanted. My daughter found a picture of what she was looking for on pinterest and emailed it to Sonja and she designed it perfectly along with my son-in-laws Vikings groom cake. I would highly recommend her to make cakes for any and all occasions. -

Sonja was great to work with. We didn't know what we wanted when we first signed our contract. We were able to meet with her again closer to the wedding and we worked out the details. She is not good with email so it was a bit of an adjustment for me (I prefer to have things in writing) but it was not a problem at all. She got our cake and cupcakes exactly right. She even made suggestions on how to store our cake to eat on our 1 year anniversary. She was patient with us and gave us the time we needed to get our final head count. Her prices are great but the cake is even better! -

Okay, first thing first, her cake literally melts in your mouth! Not to mention her filling is made from 100% fruit. No gross filler or gel. We had 130 guests show up and the cake served 146. Had less than half the bottom tier left. I was so impressed when I had my appointment with her. I sat down and the minute I started describing what I wanted she began making a sketch. She labeled each layer according to size, flavor and price. It was as if she knew what I was wanting before I had a chance to tell her. The price was fantastic and her delivery fee was so cheap! I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about her and her services! -

I have been using Sonja for cakes for at least 7 years. She has the most incredible berry fillings! She's very creative and can come up with just about anything you'd like. She doesn't use fondant, but it's much better that way. Her cakes are so yummy! -

My husband and I were fortunate enough to win an essay contes through the Metropolitan Bride Magazine. Celebrations by Sonja was kind enough to provid us our wedding cake. She is so awsome! She made us a beautiful 3 tier cake with ribbon to match wedding colors at the bases and great detail in the piping. Not only was it beautiful on the outside, but delicious. It was a marble cake with a strawberry cream filling with a yummy buttercream icing. The cake was delivered safely to our venue and we couldn't have been happier with it. I highly reccomend Sonja for anyone looking for a great cake for any occasion.

Sonja did an absolutely fabulous job on our wedding cake. I took in a picture of what I wanted and told her what modifications I wanted to make. She drew a picture on the invoice, which made me feel very secure that she knew what we wanted. The meeting took probably a total of 30 minutes, and included a sampling of her amazing cake. I checked in with her a week before the wedding and everything was a go. The time I spent talking to her and dealing with the cake was very minimal and she took care of paperwork, payment and most importantly cake delivery on time. The cake was delivered exactly as described and it was perfect. Even better, its probably the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about my experience, everything was great. -

What a wonderful cake artist! Sonja is so good with butter cream that it looks like fondant! We looked at TONS of cake designs before choosing one of her display ones. It was hands down the prettiest design we saw, and she does amazing custom work too. She was also incredibly easy to work with. We just told her the design and colors, our wedding date, and how many we wanted to serve, and she made it happen. We did design our groom's cake and it came out better than I imagined it would! She also gives you the top layer of the cake for free so you can have it on your first anniversary. I have read other reviewers say that Sonja could so easily charge more than she does for her cakes, and it is so true. Great value, especially since it is so good. A lot of wedding cakes can be dry, but not this one! It's such good cake, we will probably have to order birthday ones from her too! Without a doubt, we wouldn't go anywhere else. -

Sonja makes the best wedding cakes I have ever had! I compare every cake now to her's and nothing ever comes close! She made me an Eiffel Tower cake (that is where my husband proposed) and it was stunning! I didn't want to eat it because it was so beautiful...of course we did because it's too good not to eat! My husband went to many bridal fairs with me over the year leading up to our wedding and it wasn't because he wanted to spend time with me, it was because he KNEW he would get to sample Sonja's cake. The top part of our cake was put in our freezer and it's still good three weeks later! If you want an amazing cake...you have to have Sonja's! -

I generally try to avoid eating most wedding cakes. They are dry and too sweet, but Sonja's cakes are SO moist and delicious. They are expertly decorated, and Sonja is a joy to work with. The homemade strawberry filling (optional) is fabulous! -

Sonja is such a decorator and her cakes are delicious. Ours turned out perfectly and she was very flexible with our design (we had a very original cake). As if that wasn't enough, she was also the most cost effective of all the baker in our area, by about a dollar a slice! Filling was amazing, she was on time, and so very friendly. We get an anniversary cake from her every year and it is always just as nice and tasty as our wedding cake. We love Sonja! -

When my husband and I tasted Sonja's cake, we immediately handed over our deposit. It was the best cake we tasted by far! Sonja listened to our ideas and ended up making us a beautiful wedding cake that was exactly what we wanted. I also must add that she is honest, which means a lot when working with vendors. We sent her a check that was a little too much and she called and let us know that we owed her less. We highly recommend! -

Sonja provided a 4 tier, 3 flavor cake for our 200+ guest wedding reception and it was phenomenal!! I'm still receiving comments about how delicious our cake was. Her consultation and cake tasting was very helpful since she drew out the entire cake for me to picture. She also accommodated me changing our guest count really close to the wedding date and upped the size of our bottom tier. I first had Sonja's cake at a friend's wedding and I decided then that she would do my cake! She has the best-tasting cake I have ever had. She has many ideas and is very friendly. All you have to do is set up an appointment and come with a style for your cake in mind. If you don't know for sure what you want to do, she has samples of her work in her store, along with lots of photos of her cakes to give you ideas. She is very flexible and willing to work with your budget and your ideas. LOVE HER CAKES! She also does christmas cakes for me as well! You have to get the layered cake with the strawberry filling...to die for! -

I did a lot of taste testing/looking at different vendors for my wedding cake... and I loved Celebrations by Sonja by far the most!! Her cakes are VERY good, moist/not too dry, filling was amazing, beautiful designs, etc!! Only disappointment... I made a small change to the design and e-mailed it to her, but on the wedding day it was the original design. Honestly, I didn't even complain about it, because I still liked the other design and it still turned out great... and I'm sure if I had, she would have done something to make it right. She was good to work with, and also honored a military discount for us as my husband is a veteran!

Everyone loved our cake! It was a simple design but looked and tasted amazing. Her ability to work with butter cream is out of this world. You didn't know it was butter cream until you ate a piece because of how smooth the cake was. This cake was delicious! The ease of service with this company made the choice of spending so much money on cake slightly easier, and after eating the cake on the day of the wedding cinched the deal. Even my father-in-law (who prides himself in not eating "sugar") had 2 pieces! We hardly had any left over, but what was left froze wonderfully and tasted great 3 weeks later. The real fruit filling was superb. I am glad the price was within the budget, as we had great results. The only thing I would have preferred is a more clearly outlined cake guide for how to cut it, as well as a better description of "wedding cake slices" vs. "party slices". Obviously, for a company that deals with cake, it is second nature to cut the cake. However, for our friends who were in charge of the cake cutting, the limited details regarding sizes of slices or tips for cutting the cake was under-whelming. The cake itself, however, was very tasty. -

Cake taste awesome as always!!! I wasn't totally happy with the cakes. The grooms cake looked more like a softball than a baseball and looked un proportioned. Then the wedding cake looked like they ran out of time and just did big flowers instead of the intricate designed we had discussed. The m was also broken and just hanging there. We had 2 flavors of cake and 2 flavors of icing...she put the wrong icing on one of the cakes (it was supposed to be raspberry and it was regular). Our cake was the best cake I have ever tasted. It looked beautiful and she even put the flowers on it for free for us since I was doing all of the bouquets and everything myself. The only issue that I had was that she isn't the most personable person and I asked her multiple times (4-5) how much it would cost to get fondant ribbons put on the bottom layer and she just kept telling me "a lot". Eventually she told me a price (which in my personal opinion was very high for what I was wanting). I don't know why it was so hard to get this quoted. We had a traditional white with triple berry filling for the bottom, chocolate with oreo filling for the second layer, and then lemon with raspberry filling for the top two layers. Everyone loved it and the lemon/raspberry combo was fantastic! They offer to give you either the top free or a voucher to get a 6" cake for your one year anniversary, which is very thoughtful. -

Choosing a wedding cake provider from another state is difficult but Sonja made it as easy as it could be. We were not able to have the traditional cake tasting, as our schedule of being in town did not match. But my wife was able to stop by her shop and taste the cake of the day, which she enjoyed. We picked out our flavors and sent Sonja pictures of how we wanted the cake to look. We went a little fancy and had he create sugar gum flowers, as we did not want fake or real flowers on our cake. The flowers were hydrangeas which are very intricate but she did an amazing job creating them. On the day of our wedding she arrived in plenty of time to setup and was in and out before we knew it. It looked and more importantly tasted amazing. I would highly recommend her to anyone. -

I planned a destination wedding and hired Celebrations by Sonja to do my wedding cake. I had contact with Sonja via phone & email. Sending her a picture for the design, ribbon to use and to make the design color. The price was right, she responded in a timely manner and her cake tasted good.
MY ISSUE was the ribbon I sent was a gunmetal gray color. I requested that the design match the same color. When I went to pick up the cake I was shocked that I had purple on my wedding cake. She explained it was a hard color to match. I was upset because I never got a call or was informed that it would be a issue. So even though my wedding colors where hues of pink, cream and gray. I had a purple wedding cake, NOT HAPPY. -

To make sure it was clear what we wanted we mailed a sample of a GREY ribbon and GREY paint swatches that would match our wedding party. We arrived to pick up a PURPLE cake after speaking with Sonja just a few hours prior and being told the cake was not ready (she failed to mention she was preparing a cake which she knew would be PURPLE) I would find it a lot easier to understand if this was a last minute order or a difficult request but the cake was ordered months prior and how can you not make GRAY?? I could fumble around with food coloring and mess up and create grey. Even with some unknown difficulties I certainly cannot understand not letting your customer know about it beforehand.
