    Sociable, nice, punctual

Cathy was very punctual and is able to keep conversations going, especially with 5 other bridesmaids. I wish she gave me a list of all the things she used so I could add them to my own makeup bag; I looked so fresh!

    Super amazing!

Cathy is such a professional when it comes to taking care of make up and hair. She got me ready for my engagement photoshoot and I absolutely loved what she did with my hair and face. I would 100% recommend her. She made my make up look so natural, not cakey at all. She asked everything in detail about what I was looking for and she incorporated that in to my looks.

Cathy helped make my day perfect

Cathy was friendly, upbeat, and incredibly talented at hair and makeup. Even though we didn't get to do a trial ahead of the wedding day, she instantly understood what I was going for. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat!

Excellent professional with a great calming personality

Cathy is the most wonderful makeup artist that I have worked with. She is not only professional, always on time, and very knowledgeable of the latest techniques and trends but she also has a very calm personality that helped me during very important life moments.
Cathy has done an excellent job at different occasions for me; wedding, other people’s weddings, birthdays, showers etc.
One funny story during my civil wedding. I was running late to get to city hall before it closed, and Cathy decided to stay with me during the car ride. Her presence was so reassuring and calm that it made a huge difference. Not only I made it to city hall on time but I was relaxed and able to enjoy the moment.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement…

Cliff notes: I did not get what I paid for. We weren’t happy with the service that we actually did receive. And if you have any negative feedback, you will probably be ghosted.
My wedding was October 29th of this year. I was very excited, for obvious reasons, but also for the fact that my bridal party, mother, mother-in-law, and myself were all going to be able to be pampered before the wedding and look extra special for this extra special occasion. It was a splurge, but one that I believed to be well worth it, because I wanted us to all look and feel beautiful. Unfortunately, we would have been better off doing our hair and makeup ourselves.
Cathy arrived on time and began working on my hair and makeup at 9am the day of the wedding. She and her team were very organized and punctual in their arrival. My “glam” was scheduled to take the longest – 9:00-12:00 with a 30-minute transition to the venue schedule for 12:00-12:30. The venue was less than a 5-minute drive from the house we were staying in, but we built in extra buffer to get everything loaded and unloaded. My hair and makeup ran over the allotted time, and everything was downhill from there.
Prior to my wedding day, I had sent some inspiration pics for the bridesmaids’ hair. Nothing too complex, just pretty updos with a braid or twist. Between all of my girls, we could have accomplished them on our own, but I felt like having a professional to assist would ensure that the styles held all night, looked professional, and would keep us on schedule. None of the above were true.
My mom was scheduled to have her makeup done. She wore a wig because she has cancer, but I wanted her makeup to be perfect so that she could feel glamourous and beautiful. My mom emerged from the styling chair in tears, asking my bridesmaids to help her fix it. Her eyeshadow was very dark and heavy against her complexion, and blush and contour were completely unblended. When my mother-in-law saw how unhappy she was, PLUS the fact that we were at least an hour behind schedule, she ran home to do her own makeup – one service that we paid for and did not receive.
Two of my bridesmaids did not have enough time to get their hair done, and the ones who had their hair done by Cathy were very unsatisfied with their work. My sister’s hair was barely curled. My sister-in-law had a sloppy ponytail that she ended up taking down and fixing herself. My photographer was pinning people’s hair, blending out blush and fixing lipstick because we were running so behind for photos before the ceremony. Cathy and her other artist offered to do the remaining hair, but we were too far behind from the other hair and makeup. I was so upset that I had to separate myself from Cathy to keep from having a full-blown meltdown in front of her, which I knew would make everything worse.
In the process of all of us scrambling around to finish prep before the ceremony started, Cathy stood waiting, which I was confused about until my mom and one of my bridesmaids said Cathy TOLD THEM she was waiting for her tip, and said, scoffing, “but she probably won’t even give us a tip…”
    1. Very unprofessional to expect and ask for a tip; especially without having a debrief after the wedding and ESPECIALLY while I am running around like a mad woman trying to make it down the aisle on time. I worked in the service industry for years and pride myself on being a good tipper. I often tip more than what is expected or fair. I tipped my other vendors generously.
    2. To direct that at my mom? Really? Honestly unbelievable.
I can’t even capture all of the feedback here, but to wrap it up, Cathy and I had an in-depth call after I sent her very detailed feedback a few weeks after the wedding. She was defensive, which, ok, it’s your business. She was apologetic about my mom, but really pushed back on every point…which in my opinion is bad business. But regardless, she asked me what she could do to help right the situation. I asked for reimbursement for the services not provided – my mother-in-law’s makeup, and two bridesmaids hair. She pushed back, and I responded with, “look, it’s your business. I will let you sit with it and decide what you think is far.” She said she would get back to me in a few days and that it would take some time to process a repayment through square. She asked if she could still use my pictures for social media, to which I said fine. She made a comment to the tune of “…but I feel like you’re already to give me a bad review,” which should not be your only motivator to address customer complaints and should not matter or effect the way to conduct your business.
Well maybe I was too accommodating, because it has been two weeks since that conversation. I have followed up four times and heard nothing back. Just ghosted. It was odd to have such an unprofessional and abrupt halt to the conversation, because throughout the whole thing, I said “I don’t like her work, but she conducts herself professionally.” Clearly, I was wrong, and I paid for my mistake. Maybe she figured she would rather get a bad review than reimburse an unhappy customer.
I won’t comment on my own hair and makeup that Cathy did, but I would be happy to share an image for you to decide for yourself.
My advice to Atlanta brides – keep looking. This isn’t the one.
