At artistic masterpiece

I've always loved wedding photography so when it came time to pick my own I did a lot of research and met with many photographers. Caroline stood out among them. Her galleries clearly demonstrated she is a talented photographer. Caroline is trained in film and her galleries were masterpieces.
Booking Caroline was very easy. Working with her pre-wedding was very seamless. She was very receptive to my own ideas and had a plan for ensuring we had a well thought out timeline. Caroline took the time to scope out our venue ahead of time.
On the weekend of, Caroline was a blast to work with. She had an incredible team with her as well. She kept us moving and on track but also ensured we were able to capture shots as ideas popped up (we did a spontaneous library photoshoot). She really went the extra mile to get the perfect shot (standing on chairs, laying in the grass etc).
Our album blew us away. Caroline is an artist in every sense of the word and the gallery told our love story in the most beautiful way. She captured beautiful landscapes, all of the emotions of the weekend, the energy, the joy, and the people, and she created art with our photos. She used the props of the day so well (my different outfits, the veil etc). So many of the photos just make you pause because their composition is so breathtaking. Our friends and family are in awe. Many have joked some of these photos need to be in a museum.

Choose caroline

Before I was even dating anyone, I saw my friend's wedding photos from Hawaii and told myself "when I get married I'm choosing Caroline!" Fast forward 2 years later when I started wedding planning I knew I had to choose Caroline... I have no regrets! Caroline is absolutely amazing in every way; she's so personable, caring, and her work speaks for itself. I originally had to postpone my original wedding date and she was literally the only vendor who reached out to check how I was doing that day. She was also so patient with me when I finally rebooked almost a year and a half later! And the most important: When I got the final wedding photos I literally felt like I was reliving every emotion I felt on that day. All I can say is : CHOOSE CAROLINE

Great shots

Caroline provided a beautiful array of photos, a variety of creative shots. She was very organized with her pre-wedding survey of important photos so she is on the same page as you. Additionally, she's very good with technology and electronic communication (contracts, messaging, email, text, zoom, photo viewing etc.) which was very important to us.

Every guy should read

As a guy proposing to my girlfriend, I never realized how impactful utilizing Caroline to capture our engagement could be until afterwards. She was so instrumental in orchestrating the location and timing since I was not from the area and needed an expert to brainstorm with. Beautiful photos, professional and efficient, artistic

Caroline and her assistant were wonderful! We would highly recommend her to other couples. She was efficient with family group photos, which saved us time to celebrate with our wedding party. She also has a thorough questionnaire that we filled out before the wedding, which helped her capture certain photos and events that we wanted. The main thing that drew me to her was her artistic eye that is different from most other standard photographers. She also has a talent for taking photos in low-light, which is not the case for some other photographers I looked at. Would highly recommend, Caroline is great!

Caroline was an absolute joy to have at our wedding and I can't recommend her highly enough. We've only seen the first 4 wedding photographs (it's only been a week since the wedding), but I'm so so excited to see the rest! SHE IS AMAZING! She was recommended by a photographer friend of mine, you know it's the best compliment when another very talented photographer chooses Caroline for his wedding. She also did our engagement pictures which turned out absolutely beautiful! I'm sure you can tell the quality of her work by looking at her website, she really takes wedding photography to the level of artistry. Aside from her talent, Caroline was responsive, professional and a real pleasure to work with! We had a lot of moving parts with our destination wedding and we were happy to have Caroline there to capture the memories. You won't regret if you choose Caroline, she is incredible to work with!

Caroline is my dream wedding photographer! Though initially, it just didn't seem like our budget could swing it. We went with a different wedding photographer in the Austin area and regretted it as soon as we saw our engagement pictures. We should have just hired Caroline right away, you get what you pay for! We did our engagement pictures over with Caroline and they were so incredible. My husband really hates having his picture taken and Caroline made him feel comfortable and captured him as I see him, which is usually not ever seen in photos because he's scowling.
We had an incredibly intimate wedding of 24 guests and many later upon seeing our wedding photos commented to us how they hadn't noticed Caroline and her 2nd shooter Adam moving around to get all the beautiful shots they took. Caroline is all about capturing the moment without intruding. Our photos are timeless and the very definition of priceless. We are SO happy that we made it work within our budget (which was very small compared to the typical wedding) and that Caroline captured this amazing, whirlwind day of our lives so well.

We used Ben for my engagement and wedding photos. We have not received all the wedding photos, but have seen a couple and they are awesome! Our engagement photos were incredible. They are really good about capturing the regular moments that all the photographers get, but then are able to also make pieces of artwork that are just stunning photos that you happen to be in! Ben was really easy to work with, made us feel comfortable and was kind to family and friends when trying to get everyone in order. I would HIGHLY recommend them if you want above and beyond the normal "traditional" wedding photos and actually want some pieces of true artwork to have in your home.

As soon as we were engaged my sister (maid of honor) said we had to go with Caroline and Ben. After we booked our venue and saw they were also recommended by our venue we immediately checked out their website and contacted them. We did look at other photographers but there were no others that we felt compared. Ben is who actually shot our wedding day along with his assistant. We are extremely happy with the work and our photos. Some moments we didn't think would be captured definitely were. There was a storm rolling in and Ben captured a moment with the two of us standing outside as the lightening struck lighting up the sky (overall our favorite pic). We love looking back at our photos and laughing at all the moments that we missed during our day. We had so many favorites that it was extremely difficult to decided on the final photos for the album. Only thing we regret was not having Ben do our engagement photos. <3 J&C 10-2013

Put briefly, Caroline + Ben are simply amazing!! HIRE THEM!!
When my wife and I started researching photographers, we started online and narrowed it down to a few whose styles we really enjoyed. Caroline + Ben were already our top pick. So, then we started talking to some friends who had recently gotten married. One friend had used someone else and we asked her about her experience. In short, she said “ was ok but looking back, I wish I had gone with my first choice, Caroline + Ben.” Then our decision was basically made. We then scheduled an appointment to meet with Caroline and Ben. We immediately bonded with them. We talked about our mutual love of travel and their love story. My wife and I made the decision to pay a little more to have both Caroline and Ben present instead of one or the other and an assistant…BEST.DECISION.EVER! Because they have such a cute love together, the way they work together as a team is just as awesome. I have to advise new couples…there is always nervousness in between when the wedding is over and when you receive pictures. The funny thing for me was thinking, “Where were they all night?” But then we received the pictures and we were blown away. They were clearly EVERYWHERE!! I thought to myself, “How did they do all that?” When we looked at the very intimate moments they captured during the wedding ceremony, I am still amazed! And then at the reception…amazing again! When I think about all the times I have tried photographing a group, you usually catch people with the worst facial expressions. But Caroline + Ben have this uncanny skill of capturing everyone at their very best…smiles, laughter, hugs, tears…every amazing moment! My wife and I literally looked through the pictures over and over again. It was really like re-living the entire wedding!

I hired Caroline to photograph our teeny tiny elopment at the Travis County Courthouse in June 2013. Caroline made our six-guest event look classic and charming. She was amazing and putting everyone at ease and getting through formal "posed" shots quickly to get to the fun stuff. She has an amazing eye and her shots were beautiful.

Most. Amazing. Wedding photos. EVER.

Caroline and Ben captured pure joy and jubilance on every single face that night (which is a bit of a task for almost 300 people). I still cry every time I look at them. I've had such a hard time putting into words how incredibly amazing they are. Guests at the wedding kept saying how Ben & Caroline were everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Photo Ninjas!

Caroline from Caroline + Ben Photography was absolutely amazing! Caroline was the very first vendor we locked in, photography was one of the most important pieces of our wedding ensemble… we were so happy to lock in and work with Caroline! She was so helpful throughout our planning process… she led us to many of our wonderful vendors, including our amazing Videographer (The Wedding Theater). Caroline was prompt to reply to all emails and calls. She was very thorough and clear during our meetings and met our expectations. Caroline and her team are awesome to work with, and the images and moments they capture on film are more than amazing. She is a pleasure to work with from the first appointment to the engagement photo shoot to the day of the wedding. The photo packages they offer include all that you need to chronicle your special day. Caroline makes everything so easy and simple and puts you and your guests at ease. You can look through Caroline's portfolio and see that she is an awesome photographer. But what you won't know until you book her is that she is truely a gem! Caroline truely made our engagement session so much fun! She picked an orginal area for us to shoot. She utilized the area so well that we didn't need to go to several locations to get shots that looked miles from each other! We couldn't be happier with out engagement photos, we have gotten endless compliments on them! We got a sneak peek of our wedding day photos and they are amazing! I can't wait to see all of them. I can't say enough great things about Caroline. She is amazing. I continue to get compliments about my engagement session, and so many compliments about how wonderfully she captured the true emotion of my wedding day. Caroline is the absolute best in the business- she came recommended to me by a professional photographer- what more can you ask for? From the moment we met she was completely professional, and by the end I want to count her as one of my friends. The photographer was the most important vendor to me, and as such Caroline was my first choice and the first vendor I booked. I could not be happier with her work!! Where do I even start? From the very first email and consultation, I knew that Ben was flexible, professional, experienced, easy going, and accommodating. I knew he had the photography skills from viewing his portfolio online but he completely went above and beyond. Ben listened to what I had envisioned for our engagement session and he found the perfect location for us and worked with us to get amazing pictures. I also had my bridal pictures done with him and ill planning on my part left me without a framed picture for the wedding and it was days away! Ben shows up the day of with a beautiful portrait for me. Amazing! Ben and Caroline were wonderful on the day of the wedding. They were nonintrusive (you know the kind, where it seems like they're at the altar with you) but were able to capture amazing pictures from all different angles.
Seriously, I don't know what more I can say to convince you Ben is the photographer for you! I could go on and on though. Oh and as an extra special touch, our CD was sent in an amazing keepsake container. From beginning to end, Ben was amazing and exceeded all our expectations.

Like her business name implies, Caroline is an extremely sweet person to work with. She will not hesitate to get down and dirty to capture an amazing shot. She was always punctual and answered all of my emails right away. It was easy to schedule a engagement shoot day with her. After each shoot, she was super quick to have a few teaser photos posted on her blog within a week, and had the rest of the images available within the time frame she promised.

I have no regrets having her do my engagement and wedding photography. Every image is bright and breathtaking and has her own special touch. She captured all the small details and moments that we were unable to see come to life at our wedding. We cannot stop looking through them again and again. The photographs she took have become one of our most valued possessions. You will not regret having Sweet Caroline photograph your wedding or any special occasion!

I knew she took great fotos but Oh my God!!! I loved the pictures so gorgeous. I tell you one thing we drove from Mexico to Austin to take these and it was soooooo worth the drive and all. I am more than 100% please with the pictures she took !! It is a shame she is booked on the my wedding day I would have loved for her to be there and taking our pictures that day. The second Daniel and I met with Ben, we knew right away that he would do an amazing job with capturing every moment of our engagement through our wedding night! I can't recommend Ben highly enough. Photography was one of the most important things to us about the wedding and, boy, are we happy we went with him! We are so pleased with the photos he took, and all of our friends and family have been raving about them as well. He captured so many great and funny moments from our wedding day...I can't stop looking at the photos and know that we'll enjoy looking back and reliving the day for years to come. Not only is Ben a wonderful photographer, but he's super nice and professional and great to work with. Wow! that is the only opening statement I can think of that is appropriate for Ben's work. From engagement pictures to wedding day Ben was phenomenal. What about Ben makes him so great to work with? He is creative, artistic, open minded, and just has a great eye for capturing perfect memorable shots. The pictures he took from our wedding day are not just pictures, they are a complete story from start to finish. Now we can look back and have a perfect detailed reflection of our favorite day. Ben and Caroline were amazing!!! We had a great time working with them and they were totally flexible when things didn't go "quite right" trying to wrangle people for photos after our ceremony. My wedding was on a boat. Ben was still able to get amazing angles and shots with all my friends and family depite the closed setting. He took charge and got in tons of pictures despite the hectic schedule. It was so nice to relax and know that all the pictures were going to be great. Ben Godkin is a must-have for your engagement session and wedding day. He's not only professional and responsive, but he's amazingly talented. When I was originally on the hunt to find a photographer, I didn't have any referrals...just the Internet. It was quite a difficult search, as so many photographers out there are "cookie cutter" and borderline cheesy. I was looking for someone with artistic vision and a unique take on wedding photography - nothing too fancy or off-the-wall but just enough to make it feel and look special. After seeing Ben's portfolio online, I thought his work was great. After seeing OUR photos, I know for sure he was the perfect choice. He gave us exactly what we were looking for, and made us feel comfortable throughout our experiences with him. My husband and I are simply thrilled with our photos!

Ben is fabulous! We can not express how happy we are with our photos. He got some great candid shots, there were times we didn't even know he was around. He has a great eye for using the surrounding landscape and capturing the perfect moments. We had a few suggestions of our own and he was totally open to them.
We aren't from the area so when we found him online it was a total gamble, and we could not be happier. We would absolutely and without hesitation recommend him fully! Thank you Ben!

Besides Caroline's obvious talent for taking breathtaking photos, she does an amazing job making everything flow very smoothly. Our wedding day was hectic (as is everyone else's), she turned out to be a perfect wedding gift to ourselves. We recommend her to everyone, but usually we don't have to. Hands down, you should go with Ben Godkin for your wedding photography - He did such an amazing job that ALL my friends want him now too. I've gone to 3 wedding after my own and all I hear about is the amazing job that Ben did. Ben really went out of his way for us - meeting with us twice at random times since my husband and I had crazy schedules. He even came up to Killeen with my crazy family to greet my husband (fiance at the time) who was returning from Iraq. I didn't remind him about the photographer I had brought - but there was no need - Ben blended right in and Will never had a clue. All our pictures show our genuine emotions, but look like works of art. I want to print everything out on canvas and hang it all up! Ben has such a great eye for the most stunning pictures. Teasing light, reflections, lines, shapes, - his gifts! He offered great advice and really became our friend through the whole process. Ben is a great photographer and is extremely easy to work with. The day before the wedding, when we realized we needed a picture printed out for our guest book table, he helped us out and had it ready to go the next day. He was inobtrusive during the wedding, but still got great shots of the ceremony and the reception. My husband and I were very happy with the pictures we got back and would recommend Ben to other couples.

Ben could not have been any better! He was so professional, so patient, and so much fun to have around during the whole process. My husband and I felt so comfortable being ourselves around him, which led to some really amazing, very true-to-us shots. Caroline helped out during my bridals and the wedding, and she was absolutely amazing, too. Photography was the most important aspect in the planning process, and we were definitely not disappointed. Sweet Caroline Photo was my wedding photographer. And I'm SO GLAD that she was! She is a true artist and a real master of her craft. That combined with her amazing equipment makes for truly artistic, amazing, & unforgettable photographs!

She shot a wedding that my then-fiance-now-husband was in, and he knew then that he wanted her to do ours as well. I'm so glad he has such good taste!

She's also super cool and sooo nice, AND very good at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera, even if you're famously not-so. (like me.)

Caroline is an energetic, creative photographer, with an easy-going style and the talent to capture people at their best. In all of the shots of our wedding reception and ceremony she captured everyone's joy and smiling faces... it is really remarkable how she is able to discreetly capture people in mid-laugh, or during tender moments on the dance floor. At my nontraditional Halloween wedding reception, she spontaneously came up with the great idea to set up a "photo-booth" to capture everyone's great costumes. Ben Godkin photographed my wedding on Aug. 8, 2009. He had previously shot weddings of two of my friends. I was amazed by the pictures from both of those weddings. He has an eye for catching creative shots. He mixes class with creativity. I have shown the proofs to many friends in the past few weeks and they cannot stop raving about how great they are.

Ben has a great way of making you feel at ease, while also ensuring that the job gets done. I am definitely no supermodel, but his engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and wedding photos make me feel like one. He is so friendly with his clients and you can tell he absolutely loves what he does. My husband and I had a great time working with him. We got to have some classic shots, while also mixing in a few crazy shots that really captured our outgoing personality. Ben has a great gift for finding a way of capturing who you really are in the photos.

Sweet Caroline Photo provided more than I could have asked for. The company did my Bridal Portraits in June which turned out great and then did our wedding in September. Our outdoor wedding was moved due to rain and they never missed a beat. They also provided excellent video service which I was not anticipating as they were experimenting with new equipment. I am positive that this video will be cherished and watched more often than the actual people we hired to do the videography. Ben and his partner for the day were fantastic! They captured my husband, myself, family and friends in moments that will always bring back vivid memories of our wonderful day! Ben Godkin is, to say the least, the most personable, responsible, and professional photographer I have ever met. He took the most amazing pictures. We had our engagement pictures, my bridal portraits, and our wedding pictures taken by Ben. WE are so happy with his work. Looking through our pictures brings back the same feelings and happiness we felt. We definitely relive every moment when we look at our pictures. Thank you, Ben!

First off, Ben takes the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. His skill and personality make him one-of-a-kind. It is quite obvious that he loves his job, because he always has a huge smile on his face when he's taking pictures!

Ben was VERY easy to work with and extremely helpful. He was also very flexible when we needed him to stay longer than originally planned. Ben can turn a seemingly normal shot into something extraordinary. His creativity is endless and he strives to make the customer happy. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't change a thing :D

Ben Godkin was an exceptional photographer. He captured everything we wanted and more. His style of photography is amazing i still can't stop looking at my wedding pictures. The quality of video he took was incredible. My husband said when we first watched it that it was like we were watching an actual movie. I could not have been more pleased with his work. His site is great as well, easy to order prints for yourself or for family and friends to DIY.

Caroline did an excellent job at photographing our wedding. She worked with us on all of our requests; she was punctual; and she had the end product to us in a week. Her website makes the whole process very easy and the pictures were lovely.

Ben was outstanding! His finished product was amazing; his photographs helped me relive those amazing moments and appreciate those special details that I didn't have time to see on the day-of. He was prompt, flexible, and kind, as well as easy and fun to work with. Everyone loved him, and all of my friends and family can't believe how great his pictures look. He took a variety of shots - classic, candid, and artistic - something for everyone! I highly recommend him to all brides in the Austin area.

We really enjoyed working with Ben Godkin on these photos, but we both wish it had been a little less windy! Nothing he could control, obviously, but it was a bit of a let down that we couldn't reschedule or something. He still managed to get some great shots that we are very happy with.

Caroline did a wonderful job on our engagement and wedding pictures! She was friendly, helpful, and creative! She made sure to get our feedback on what kinds of pictures we wanted, too. My fiancee had a lot of ideas for our engagement pictures and Caroline tried to make all of them happen for us. She was absolutely fabulous!

Caroline certainly makes beautiful pictures, no doubt about that, but I was really disappointed in our wedding photos. We didn't view our wedding as a photo shoot or an opportunity to make art, which I think is how Caroline viewed it. For us, our wedding was a celebration of life with all our most loved family and friends... and very few of them wound up in the photographs of our wedding. Five months later, that still makes me really sad.

Disappointments:
- Even though Caroline asked ahead of time for a list of the group photos I wanted taken in the church following the ceremony, she did not take all those photos and in the busy-ness of the day, I didn't remember all of them. As a result there is not a single picture of me and my niece. (I only have one neice and one nephew.)
- During the posed group photos in the church, Caroline had everyone who wore glasses take their glasses off so that there wasn't a glare from her flash. Well, this is just silly - someone who has worn glasses every day of his adult life (e.g. my dad) does not look like himself if he isn't wearing them. I feel this is a fairly standard photographic challenge that she should have been able to handle. And then my absent-minded bro-in-law left his glasses dangling from his suit pocket, which doesn't look right in a formal picture. This is a little nit-picky, but taken as a whole, seemed to me to be another example of Caroline not being on top of her game.
- At Caroline's suggestion, we took a break in the middle of our reception to take photos of my hubby and me outside. Our reception venue was beautiful and we wanted to be sure it was included in photos, so we were happy to do this, but clarified ahead of time how long we should budget for these photos, because celebrating with our family and friends was really our focus and we didn't want to spend the whole afternoon alone posing for the camera. Caroline told us 20 minutes. Unfortunately, 30 minutes later Caroline was absorbed in getting just the right angle - we were visibly anxious and finally told her that we needed to get back. Even then, she wanted to take photos at another spot on-site.
- There are less than 10 photos of my very large extended family (other than those that were specifically posed in the church). Out of literally hundreds of photos. The reason is that they didn't spend much time on the dance floor. And looking at our photos, that is where Caroline and her assistant camped out. I didn't spend much time on the dance floor either, but I guess that's where the "fun" photo-taking opportunities were. I know photos of people you don't know sitting around talking is probably not interesting to a stranger, but these are people we love who came to share this day with us. I would love to see pictures of them celebrating with us - even if they aren't dancing. As our photographer, Caroline should have wanted to take those photos too - even if they won't be good material for her portfolio. I just can't believe that this is something I needed to tell a wedding photographer.
- Caroline works with an assistant. I got the impression that we would have two photographers that day, which was a big bonus, considering the price. Caroline did not present it that way - that we would have two photographers - but neither did she correct my obvious misunderstanding. When I asked if one of them could photograph me and my bridesmaids getting ready while the other was photographing my husband and his groomsmen, she hesitantly agreed. When the photos came back, however, there were very few of the photos that the assistant took of my bridesmaids and me. I guess this is why she doesn't have him work as an independent second photographer, but as her assistant. (He mostly took all the same photos she did, at the same time she did, just at a slightly different angle.) I would have appreciated it if she had clarified this when it was obvious that I had misunderstood his capabilities/role.
- Caroline seems a little distracted and in retrospect did not have a good handle on the wedding details.

Successes:
- beautiful portraits
- dvd with all images and full permission to use them

In summary, I would be hesitant to recommend Caroline. The photos she does take are beautiful, but there were a LOT of photos that she didn't take, but should have.
