Perfect Cake for Our Wedding

Carolina Cupcakery was able to take all of our hobbies and interests and put them onto our wedding cake. We chose a 3 tiered cake, each with a different flavor, and it turned out wonderfully. The tasting experience, customization options, along with the delicious flavors, led us to contract with Carolina Cupcakery. Highly recommend!

Extremely pleased!

From my first email, Amber was amazing. She was quick to respond, thorough and kind. We hired her for my daughter's wedding and highly recommend. We did a small anniversary cake and an assortment of cupcakes. Amber delivered them and set them up beautifully. Every last cupcake was eaten and our guests raved about them. The bride and groom both said the cake was the best they had ever had.

The best around!

Carolina Cupcakery is the best around! We are so glad that we booked them for our wedding. They made all of our dessert dreams come true! From the cake, cupcakes, cake-pops and sugar cookies we couldn't get enough. We have guests still telling us about how much they enjoyed the desserts! Shoutout to Amber, she was very responsive and easy to work with during our wedding planning. They made this part of wedding planning fun and easy!

Amazing Cake & Team

We have used this bakery for years and i had no question about them using them for our wedding! They did a great first tasting and help us narrow down what set up we wanted for our cupcakes and cake. They let us do multiple extra tastings to narrow down our cake and cup cake flavors.
They were very great with communicating the week of the wedding to get a contact name/number for the day of for ease of delivery and set up. They were excellent at getting the cake set up with the flowers and cake topper as well as setting up the cupcakes. They even left clean boxes for any leftovers.
I highly recommend them for any cake or cupcake needs as well as other bakery items!

Amazing Cake

From leveraging the to-go cake tasting option to wedding day the communication and delivery of my cake vision was everything that I hoped for on our special day! We had a 3 layer cake with chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla and OMGGGG the cake was amazing everyone was asking for the company info. Thank you so much Amber for making the process quick, simple, and easy!

Amazing Team

Our wedding was pushed back a year due to COVID and these guys MADE IT WORK. They remembered and kept all of our details close to ensure we had the best day possible. Even though they were constantly busy due to a push back in weddings, they made an effort to reach out to us to avoid letting us feel forgotten! Amazing Team! ❤️

I couldn't ask for any better

We had an amazing experience! We had them do two different flavored cupcakes for our wedding and we went with Almond I DO and Bromance (Chocolate/Peanut butter with whiskey buttercream, candied bacon, and chocolate chips!!!) We also had them make a 6in cake for us and it was spectacular. My husband and I didn't know exactly what we wanted but after talking to them, they knew what we would like. Everything tasted amazing and our vendors loved them too!!

Elegantly Spectacular

My husband and I chose Carolina Cupcakery for our wedding. Dani and the staff were amazing from the start. I accidentially mistyped a cupcake name and she even created a cupcake based on what I typed. When we figured out what happened, she offered to make the correct cupcake and have it ready for us the following day. We chose four different types of cupcakes - Tiramisu, Bromance, Lavendar Kiss, and Choco-Mint Grasshopper. We also had some vanilla and chocolate cake pops (bride and groom) and all of those were gone. The anniversary cake was absolutely beautiful. All of our guests raved about everything and many tried several types of cupcakes (get extras!)

Delicious and Delightful!

We highlight recommend this place for your wedding cake. The planning of the cake was hassle free which put our minds at ease. THEN, the cake was DELICIOUS! It was a major selling point that they only use natural ingredients and no major chemicals. I really loved that. We were so happy and still talk about it!

Delicious!

We had met with a few other bakeries but once we met with Carolina Cupcakery it was definitely clear who were going with. They listened, offered advice since we didn't know what we were doing :) also worked with us whenever we needed to change anything. Delivered a few hours before and on time. They were a huge hit!

Cares about you as a person and not just your money

When I located Carolina Cupcakery, I had proposed my wedding cake to other vendors. They all quoted me outlandish prices and didn't seem to care about me or the budget. However, when I sent my idea to Carolina Cupcakery, they gave me a quote but offered an idea that I hadn't thought of that could make my dream cake happen at a more reasonable price! The cake looked and tasted AMAZING!

Exactly what we wanted!

Everything about our experience with Carolina Cupcakery was excellent. From the initial meet-and-greet to the day of the wedding, Dani and her team were so responsive, helpful, and willing to make sure everything went according to plan. We ended up going with a five tier marble cake that looked exactly as we envisioned, and the cake was so good that people were going back for two or three pieces each. Many said it was the best cake they had ever had. And it was completely vegan! This place is seriously the best!

Out of this world delicious cupcakes!

When we started planning our wedding, we knew everything had to be gluten free, since I have Celiac’s. I’d tried their GF cupcakes before at the skinny dip, and decided to set up a consultation. Carolina Cupcakery has a completely separate food allergy bakery with separate air handlers and everything to prevent cross contamination. In addition, their list of cupcakes that can be made gluten free is HUGE! We had hundreds of flavors to choose from. We were given three large cupcakes to try at the tasting, which were all delicious. We booked them immediately. The day of the event, the cupcakes were perfect. They were set up on these beautiful log cupcake stands, and they looked so pretty!. Our guests loved them (and didn’t even realize they were all GF). A lot of our guests told us they had several so they could try the different flavors, because they were all so good. I would 100% recommend them to anyone!

Carolina Cupcakery rocks! They let my vision take flight! We had a great tasting, felt as if the staff wanted to help and make our cake perfect rather than just pump out another cake. The cupcakes we tasted were delicious, the icing was delectable and sweet, and the cake itself was moist and full of flavor. We emailed back and forth numerous times about design and it was perfect! I have no idea how the cake got to the reception but when I saw it, I was stunned. Simple, white and personalized just the way I wanted. 100% awesome, and we can't wait to have our top tier for our anniversary!

Everything was so beautiful and delicious! I couldn't have asked for more! It was also really awesome to rent the cake/cupcake stands from them directly - however, I didn't realize that I needed to return them (I thought they came back to pick them up), so that was my bad! Sorry! Dani is awesome!

Loved everyone at Carolina Cupcakery! We booked last minute in a pinch and they were awesome at putting together a delicious assortment of cupcakes and cake pops that we set up on a cake stand with a 6in. round top cake they made as well. Carolina Cupcakery bakes some amazing cupcakes and they were so great to work with! They helped us through the entire process and we were able to sample a few flavors before even deciding whether to go with their services or not! I loved that there were so many options to choose from (including some boozy ones) and we were able to choose up to 10 flavors. Our only mistake was not ordering more Reese's Cup Remix cupcakes as those disappeared within a few minutes!! We rented a rustic cupcake stand from them and they included a few short stands to make sure they could all fit. It was so cute and matched perfectly with our theme. I am so happy with how they all turned out! Thank you so much!!

I seriously have no complaints. They have the best ratio of icing to cupcake. Waaay better than Twisted Sisters. Very inventive flavors and if you wanted a flavor they didn't have, they would have made it just for you. This staff will 100% work with whatever you need.

We loved our wedding cake! It tasted delicious and it was gorgeous. Everyone was so happy with it. They even went on the day of my wedding and got flowers for the cake that I had forgotten. Such a relief! I highly recommend them.

Carolina Cupcakery provided the cake and the cupcakes for my wedding and they were hands down the BEST cupcakes I have ever eaten - and I eat a fair amount of cupcakes! My husband and I chose three flavors for our wedding - Almond I Do, Real Strawberry and Chocolate Fix - after visiting their shop in Chesapeake the week before our wedding for a little cupcake tasting. Almond I Do is amazing! After tasting it we decided to go with it as our cake flavor as well as for 1/3 of the cupcakes. It was simple and just sweet enough without being overpowering. I'm still dreaming about those cupcakes! Working with Carolina Cupcakery was easy breezy and they delivered our cupcakes and cake two hours away without a hitch.

We used Carolina Cupcakery for our beach wedding and they were fantastic! We fell in love with the rumchatta cupcakes and they were a huge hit at the wedding! We also had the red velvet and black and white cupcakes which were also a huge hit. We may have ordered a few dozen too many, but they looked amazing decoration wise and everybody from our jobs appreciated the extras!
They were amazing with the consultation and through out the whole process before the wedding. I loved working with them and would absolutely book them again for another event!

Since our cake tasting I waited months to eat this cake on my wedding day. I was not let down at all. We took leftovers home and ate it until it gas gone. Prices were very reasonable as well. Everything was exactly how we wanted it.

Before we got engaged we would always go to the Carolina Cupcakery in Norfolk, VA while I was at ODU. When I found out that they did weddings too I was so excited! We chose to do the mini cupcakes for our wedding and we couldn't be happier. The cupcakes were seriously the best cupcakes I've ever had and they were so moist. The staff worked with me to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted and they always got back to me quickly. They even delivered the cupcakes which was a huge help. If you're looking to find a wedding cake vendor that can accommodate vegan/vegetarian guests, Carolina Cupcakery is it! So many flavors to choose from and our cake came out gorgeous and exactly how we wanted.

The girls at Carolina Cupcakery are amazing! From the start of planning to the delivery of the cake , they were so easy to work with! Our sandcastle anniversary cake turned out PERFECT and exactly what I wanted. The cupcakes were amazing! All the guests couldn't stop talking about the flavors! All of the bakers and Jenni,the wedding consultant were amazing! They all went over the top to make my day and experience leading up to the day thr best day ever. I also want to thank them for all they did for my son,owen. They went out of the way to make him feel special.And i cant forget about the cupcakes...AMAZING!!! we had 6 flavors and all of them were absolutly delicious! Carolina Cupcakery was the perfect solution to our wedding cake decisions! I wanted cupcakes more than a cake and they provided deliciously yet beautifully decorated cupcakes for my special day! Jenny, the event coordinator, was super easy to work with and was great at making sure I had exactly what I had envisioned! She personally set up my cupcakes on the day of and they looked even better than I had imagined! I would highly recommend their services to all my friends and family!

My husband actually set up the cake tasting and handled the cake, but only after I had given him the name to this fantastic bakery! The staff is amazing, very friendly. The cupcakes were amazing! I simply can not say enough great things about this place!

Carolina Cupcakery provided a lovely vegan cake in addition to yummy regular cupcakes for my daughter's wedding. It was important for my daughter to have cake she could actually eat, and the vegan cake was delicious! The cupcakes were thoroughly enjoyed by the guests, as well. I fell in love with the Lady Godiva cupcake at a bridal show. It was so good, I booked a consultation immediately! The tasting was an easy and enjoyable process (once I narrowed down a few choices from their list of over 200 flavors!) and the consultants were easy to work with. My friends offered to pick up the cupcakes and cupcake stand, so I didn't use their delivery and set-up service. The cupcakes were ready on time and they all looked beautiful! The cupcake stand I rented was perfect for the event and it all turned out amazingly. We received lots of compliments on the cupcakes and we couldn't be happier with the overall experience, from consultation to finished product! I would highly recommend Carolina Cupcakery to anyone looking for an alternative to the traditional wedding cake. Having cupcakes made it so easy for our guests to choose their favorite flavor(s) and self-serve as the night went on!

I can't say enough about Carolina Cupcakery. It took us a looong time to find a baker that we trusted and thought would deliver the best results. Carolina Cupcakery exceeded all of our expectations. They were able to make our lace pattern for our cake with an ombre effect for no extra charge. They charge by serving not by design. And the cake was delicious!!! Absolutely loved our cake!!

Carolina Cupcakery made our wedding cake and it was great! It was exactly what we wanted and everyone loved it. They were contracted through my coordinator so I didn't have direct contact with them but they were able to take the photos and ideas that I had and make exactly what we were wanting. Also, the cake was delicious!!!

Carolina Cupcake was wonderful to work with. They answered all my questions in a timely. Katie make my tasting personal by having cupcakes making that worked with my allergies. I was so worried I would not be able to have a wedding cake because of food allergies but with Carolina Cupcake Allergen Free kitchen I did have to worry. Everything at the wedding was perfect, very one complimenting on how good the cupcake were. No one know that they were gluten free, soy free, and vegan.

We wanted to have cupcakes as part of our dessert buffet for our wedding in the Outer Banks. Carolina Cupcakery had such a great selection and price that they were our top choice. It was tough planning the wedding from afar, but my mom was able to contact an employee, and they brought the cupcakes onto OBX for us, and we were able to get a family member to pick them up before the wedding. They were so flexible in helping us plan the flavors and pick-up for the cupcakes. More importantly, the cupcakes were delicious and definitely a hit! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a wide variety of cupcakes and not wanting to break the bank doing it!

Jenni and the team at Carolina Cupcakery were amazing!!! Jenni was very patient, and knowledgeable! I recently found out I need to eat gluten free- which has been hectic while planning a wedding- but Carolina Cupcakery was very accommodating and the gluten free cupcakes were delish! We ordered 150 cupcakes, 12 gluten free cupcakes and 1 gluten free anniversary cake! We chose 4 flavors: banana pudding, cookies and cream, almond I do, and red velvet! Our guests could not get enough...everyone enjoyed the flavors and we heard wonderful reviews from all of our guests! I would highly recommend Carolina if you have an allergy, or if you just really enjoy cupcakes! They seriously were amazing, and the events staff put together a beautiful display!!!

I was BLOWN AWAY by the presentation, color, flavors. Absolutely amazing. Every guest was impressed. We were able to choose many flavors, since we had a 6" topper for cutting and a tower of 48 cupcakes. Oddly, my husband does not like sweets, however, he loves carrot cake! The topper was a carrot cake for him and I to cut, topped with a stunning and elegant scroll design in a cream color. GORGEOUS!! We were also surprised at the fair pricing, the set up for us.....everything was absolutely PERFECT. Thank you Jenni and crew for making our sacred day even more special!

My daughter wanted mini-cupcakes for her wedding reception. When we visited Corolla the fall before her June wedding, we sampled a few local bakeries, but were not happy with the product or the personnel. I saw that Carolina Cupcakery had been the baker used for a wedding at the venue we had selected and contacted them. Kyndall was very helpful from our first contact. She helped me make decisions and suggested some wonderful final touches--white chocolate shells which we put on sugar sand around the cupcakes on the tower. It was beautiful and best of all the cupcakes were delicious! I recommend Carolina Cupcakery with pleasure.

The Carolina Cupcakery did a fabulous job creating the perfect cupcake vision for a long distance planning bride. We did a cake topper and cupcake tower for our wedding. We were unable to visit to do a tasting, however, we were very pleased with the flavors we picked out! So many options I just wanted one of each! I was able to send pictures of the cake we wanted and they nailed it! I also sent color samples so the icing would match the colors in the wedding and they did a great job matching. One little hiccup with the set up, they were to come to house in the OBX(4x4 area-in contract-charged additional fee), but day before wedding they called because they were unable to do. Overall, awesome!! Would recommend to anyone!

AMAZING! We have received so many compliments on the cupcakes. With over 250 flavors, we spent months tasting and completing the impossible task of narrowing down the flavors. We were able to purchase an anniversary cake for cutting at the reception, mini, and full size cupcakes. While we stuck with the business's frosting, colors, and decorations, they were more than willing to accommodate any colors, decorations, or themes we wanted.

Our flavors were: Almond I Do, Chocolate Salted Caramel, French Toast, and Banana Pudding. Trust us! Amazing cupcakes. A great way to avoid any "cake cutting fees" and a great variety.

Great cake!

Their cakes are phenomenal.. no box mixes and absolutely melt in your mouth goodness. And even though my cake topper was never added to my cake it was truly beautiful. After trying to contact the company a few times about the missing topper, the owner contacted me and together we were able to come to a solution. They really do care about their brides. They were also very willing to work with the back and forth with changing things due to COVID19 and I very much look forward to working with them next year for our delayed reception!

My husband is allergic to tree nuts, wheat, and dairy. Can you even imagine how hard it was to find a cake vendor for our wedding? People either responded they could do a cake without nuts but not wheat, or they could do a cake without wheat but couldn't guarantee no nuts. Someone even said they could do it, but they wouldn't because it would taste bad. Then I turned to Carolina Cupcakery, and not only did we end up with a beautiful cake and cupcakes, but my husband had a delicious cake, completely allergen-free!! Oh, and we got married during Hurricane Matthew and Carolina Cupcakery didn't bat an eyelash about getting the cake to us. Wonderful business!

We were fairly low-maintenance in our cupcake needs (5 dozen, no decorations, plus a small cutting cake) but Carolina Cupcakery did a great job. The cupcakes were fresh and tasty, and the delivery fee was reasonable. Since this was a wedding order we did pay a bit more per cupcake than the standard price, which seems silly since we didn\'t select any fancy \'upgrades\', but overall the price was fair, the customer service was good, and they were able to replicate an \'ombre\' frosting design I sent them for the cutting cake. Definitely recommend considering the extremely high prices quoted by other OBX wedding cake vendors.

Everyone over at Carolina Cupcakery was GREAT! They were extremely good at communicating, and they set everything up wonderfully! My only gripe is that our tower was not set up where it was supposed to be, but it didn't matter, because everyone loved the cupcakes regardless! Thanks so much for everything!

We did cupcakes for our guests and had a small anniversary cake for us to cut. The cupcakes were delicious, all our guests absolutely loved them. They made them exactly how I wanted with the style of icing and colors. They had so many flavors to pick from for our anniversary cake and I was bummed that we never got to taste anything since we were from IL. They were so nice & accommodating and arranged for us to have a small tasting of a few flavors the week of the wedding when we arrived in town so that we could pick the flavor for our cake. We went with the vanilla bean flavor and it was amazing!! We ate it all week long. I was very happy with this company, their service, and their pricing. I would definitely work with them again.

It was great doing business with them. We ordered around 500 mini cupcakes and had so many flavors. They were very helpful in helping decide what the tower would look like, the type of tip they would use for the cupcake icing, what our cake would look like, and how the tower would be arranged. They delivered it and set it all up. It was BEAUTIFUL!

I can't give them a 5/5 but close to it. They apparently are very busy but I really had to keep up with them via email to make sure all of my wishes were covered and they were. The cupcake wedding cake was beautiful and the multiple flavors I chose provided my guests with many options. They even had gluten free for those who required them. I would definitely use them again.

Carolina Cupcakery did a wonderful job doing our wedding cake and cupcakes. My husband and I were super pleased with the overall set up and they made the cake exactly as we pictured. We did three cupcake flavors but The Vow (maple sugar and cinnamon) was a huge hit and was gone quickly. We were able to use these tree trunk displays that added perfectly with our rustic country theme. We only wish that due to all the flavors we wanted to try, we had to pay to taste which made it hard to keep laying money down on top of the overall price. So the first three we tried on our own we ended up just having to go with.

Everyone was excited about the cupcakes at my wedding! I'll admit I was thrilled too! The display was gorgeous, and the flavors were divine! I've always been a fan of their cupcakes and I am so glad that they provided that same quality at our wedding!

I can't say enough about Carolina Cupcakery! They did everything they could to fulfill our vision of our wedding cake, and it was beautiful. Everyone commented on it. They are a little out of the way for me in VA Beach, but worth the trip. Also, they use only simple whole ingredients, and I think that you could really tell the difference in the flavor.

Great customization

Because Carolina Cupcakery is a large shop that creates cakes for all kinds of occasions, the best part about using them is your ability to choose from an almost unlimited amount of flavors. We ended up going with a traditional almond cake for some tiers, but my husband and I love pistachio, so I was ecstatic that they could incorporate that into the cake as well. They were very professional- it's clear that they know what they're doing in the Hampton Roads area. I loved that they also allowed for customization of the look of the cake- I dropped off ribbon for them, and they wrapped the bottom of the tiers in it just like the pictures I provided. Overall, very easy experience with tons of options.

The cupcakes & cake for our reception were top-notch. Everyone LOVED them. My only complaint would be that we never received the refund for our deposit for renting the cake stand.
