    My wife and I could not have asked for a better photography staff. Carl Nelson gave us phenomenal service, and was beyond patient and kind in providing us with the finished products. He presents quality work at a quality price, and takes his job and customers very seriously.     Carl did an awesome job capturing in pictures many special moments on my son's wedding day. The pictures are absolutely beautiful! He is very accommodating, kind and easy to work with. He has a good eye. I am very pleased with the pictures he put together for me in my art book. Thanks Carl for the happy memories!

    Carl provided photography for our December 2010 wedding. We are very pleased with his services. He met us at a convenient location to discuss the contract. Carl was very responsive to questions and concerns and answered all emails within the same day. He also spoke with my parents and addressed their concerns which put them at ease. At the wedding, Carl was great to work with. He was able to take all the shots we wanted without being intrusive or taking a lot of time. The photographs turned out beautifully. It was a daytime wedding in a facility with lots of windows and I was concerned a lot of the shots would be washed out. This wasn't the case. I was very impressed with the lighting and how well Carl was able to take the pictures in a bright room. The photos were a nice combination of wide shots and those with small details. My friends and family were equally impressed. We really like how Carl arranged the pictures in the art book. The book really tells the story of our day. We would highly recommend Carl to other brides and grooms. He is easy to work with, very accessible, responsive, and talented.

    My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Carl. He was helpful, very professional and we felt our memories were in good hands.
    We are so happy with our pictures. Everyone we have shown them to has commented on how beautiful they are. We are very impressed with the Art Book, it is absolutely beautiful! The quality is outstanding, the pictures are vivid, clear and turly captured our wedding day.
    We Highly recommend Carl. He is a great photographer!

    Carl was a pleasure to work with. He made me feel completely relaxed was very flexible and very professional. He was at my venue before me and he left after me making sure every perfect picture was taken. My wedding pictures came out perfect. My day is forever captured by beautiful photos. I would highly recommend Nelson Photography to anyone for any event.

    Carl Nelson was wonderful to deal with, very nice and very patient with all of my questions and suggestions. I absolutely LOVED my pictures, and the album itself!! I have received so many compliments!! Many had not seen the style of album that I got, and honestly, it's the exact thing that made me contact him to begin with. He showed me impressive portfolios when we first met, a=was very helpful, and extremely competitive and fair price-wise as well. For my once-in-a-lifetime special day, Carl Nelson Photography captured it beautifully, and gave me not only what I wanted, but more!!

    I really enjoyed working with Nelson Photography on the day of my wedding. It was nice to have such a professional helping with getting the perfect pictures. They showed flexibility and knowledge throughout the evening.

    Carl Nelson was a gem of a find! The services he provided were professional and personal. He was flexible with the arrangments and chaos of a big group. He was unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception but still managed to capture everything. He was courteous, warm, and timely. I never had to worry about him showing up or following through on the details of the art book afterwards. I have received many, many compliments on the book and can take no credit for it myself. Carl made some suggestions and I just let him do all the creative things. The album of work he presented far exceeded my expectations and after comparing it to the work of other albums consistently superceded the others as well I would give him the highest of recommendations without any reservations.

    After interviewing several photographers, my husband and I chose to work with Carl Nelson of Nelson Photography, and we are so glad that we did! He was such a pleasure to work with every step of the way and I am thrilled with the pictures he took! I’ve had so many people say how much they love the pictures as well.

    He did our engagement pictures and helped us get used to him and to having our pictures taken, and the results were fantastic. I'm so pleased with the both our engagement and our wedding pictures - so many beautiful shots, both posed formals and candids, to remember our special day. The hardest part was narrowing them down and choosing which ones to purchase and include in the Art Book.

    Carl is down to earth and easy going and managed to take so many wonderful pictures with very little interference. He got all of our formal shots done quickly and had everyone looking great. He helped me, my husband, and our families and friends relax and focus on enjoying the day.

    He was always responsive and easy to get in touch with, and he was responsive to our requests and wishes as well. There were a couple different shots I requested on the day of the wedding, and he was glad to do them and enthusiastic about them. If you want to photographer that will take beautiful pictures and who is incredibly pleasant to work with, I highly recommend Carl Nelson!

    I'd been debating on whether I should write a review and decided to do so in hopes it will help another bride in choosing a photographer. I met Carl at a bridal show in Atlanta. I was immediately impressed by his personality and the wedding albums he had on display. After my husband and I met him, we decided he was the person we wanted to capture our special day. He was polite, professional, and took the time to get to know us. We really thought we had made a great choice. I had my doubts on the day of the wedding while he was taking the photographs. It was as if he didn't know how to position us for photos... especially photos with my bridesmaids and the entire bridal party. I thought the positioning was odd but didn't want to question the professional. When we received our pictures on cd, we were disappointed in the inconsistency of the quality. We we also expecting some time of cover or picture on the cd especially considering the amount we paid but we didn't receive either. Some photos were good quality and some were bad. It was as if something happened to the camera right before the bridal party exited the ceremony. Photos were blurry and some dark. Carl tried to correct them but that made it worse. In addition, we have no nice pictures of our guests during the ceremony. Some of the pictures taken during the reception were dark. We voiced our concerns to Carl and he offered to add an extra picture to our book or drop $50 off the nearly $3,000 price tag. We felt the offer was unfair but just to be done with the entire issue, we decided to take the $50 off. I'm glad the photography ordeal is over... My hubby and I were really disappointed with the photos!

    Thank you for the feedback, Natacha. I appreciate the idea of putting a picture on the high-resolution disc. With the exception of the two or three shots that were not sharp, I love the way the photographs and Art Book turned out. I wish you felt the same.

    Though the photographer is a really nice guy, and his personality style aligned perfectly with what I wanted for my wedding day, the quality of the photos failed to live up to my expectations. Many comments were made to me from other parties that further supported the inadequateness of the pictures. For example, my hair stylist requested a review of her performance with accompanying pictures. I sent her some photos from Nelson photography, but she thought that the photos I sent her were from friends because they were NOT the quality that she was used to seeing from professionals. Another concern is that we received the proof book AFTER we had made our final selections for our expensive art book. Viewing photos online is not the same thing as seeing them printed, and once we saw them printed, we realized that we made a very poor selection because facial expressions were horrific in the printed photos, but they were not easily detected online. Overall, I am disappointed with the quality of the photos, but I have to live with what he provided because he's the only one that took shots of the bridal party, getting dressed, etc. Again, he's a genuinely nice man, but neither myself nor non-emotionally vested parties believe that the photos are of high quality.

    Using online display of images in the process of choosing one's favorites to be included in a wedding album is commonly accepted practice in this modern age of digital cameras. In fact, it is superior to small printed proofs for many reasons, especially if one has a decent computer display on which the images are to be viewed. Regarding the quality of the images, the same lighting techniques were used as on hundreds of previous weddings with the vast majority of comments indicating very happy customers. This particular bride, although very nice, had difficulty keeping her eyes forward during her requested portraits and group formals causing a range of unexpected and poor expressions in many of her photographs. Like any customer, she deserved excellent work and I did my best under less than ideal circumstances.

    Carl fail to provide sufficient camera people to capture all the requested moments. The men were getting ready in one hotel and the ladies in another. He never made it to the men's hotel for pre-wedding pictures. During formal pictures, he fail to take a picture of the groom and his mother. Our wedding was in and out doors but Carl never went outside missing half the event (especially since the groom was often outside. Carl was rude to the other vendors. We paid for a 15 page photo book but Carl created one with 32 pages and asked for an additional $1000. I had to recreate the book to stay within budget.

    I did not photograph a wedding on July 9, 2011. Rude to other vendors? That would be a first.
