Great Experience With Capitol City Sound

Using Chris Leas and Capitol City Sound for our wedding DJ may have been the least-stressful part of wedding planning! As soon as I reached out to Chris and confirmed he was available for our date, I was fairly hands-off. I know other couples who made the entire playlist for their weddings...I was able to talk to Chris about the type of music we liked and he handled everything else. I didn't have to worry about any logistics or coordinating with our venue - he handled everything. We had a great experience and would recommend Chris and Capitol City Sound for your event!

Perfect Wedding Day!

The dance floor was busy all night because of how awesome our DJ was. We are so glad capitol city sounds was a part of our wedding day.

We worked with Chris Leas at Capitol City Sound for our DJ services and Photo Booth for our wedding in June 2018.
As to DJ services, Chris was AMAZING! He was very careful to get our requests and plans for the reception square away ahead of time. He played great music that had everyone dancing and having a blast all night! I couldn't ask for anything more!
I was a little disappointed with the quality of the photo booth printouts, and might request a sample before booking them for that service. The photo booth set up was very impressive, they had fun props, and the photo booth attendant was very helpful.

Chris Leas was a dream to work with. He was flexible in setting aside time to meet and discuss our plan (we were in a different time zone). When we let him know we didn't have much of plan and needed some guidance, he made solid suggestions that we ended up incorporating into our day. He was super accommodating to our last minute requests and was SO easy going when it took us a while to nail down the specific songs we had in mind.

We gave him a few genres we wanted him to play at the reception and he nailed it. The dance floor was packed until the last second and everyone was very impressed with how well he kept the night moving along.

The day of, he was high energy and low maintenance. We simply pointed him to his booth and he took care of the rest! If you want to have a seamless experience with a true professional, book Capitol City Sound DJs. Chris will take care of you!!

Chris from Capital City Sound was our DJ, and he brought a second DJ along to help him. He was incredibly responsive to every single email I sent, and replied to even emails I sent at 4 am within the hour. (It was incredible, I don't know how he did it). He has a worksheet that helps you think of all the songs you will need, which was very helpful. He offered great suggestions on songs when we did not know what to chose for parts of the ceremony. He obtained the songs we wanted when he did not have them. He kept the dancing going all night. If I ever need a DJ again, I will hire him.

We couldn't have been more happy with our Capitol City Sound experience! DJ Scott did an amazing job, and made sure all of our guests had an absolute blast. Our dance floor was hopping all night long! I also had a few last minute song revisions, and specific requests, all of which he remembered. I would highly recommend them for your wedding!

Scott Stem was our DJ for our wedding and reception and he was great! He remembered all of our requests and knew exactly how to keep things moving and to make guests happy! We had so many compliments about how much fun our wedding was and we believe we owe much of that to Scott. Two of my cousin's also used Capital City Sound for their weddings, which is why I decided to use them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We absolutely loved working with Chris of Capitol City Sound! We planned our wedding from out of town, which always adds an extra layer of stress. From our first interactions, Chris was responsive, kind, and organized. Different from many other DJ services we looked at, the prices for Capitol City Sound’s services were clearly stated and explained on their website. The worksheets they provide really helped us in planning our music for both ceremony and reception. Chris was flexible as our plans changed, and was very accessible and reassuring in the days leading up to our event. Most importantly, Chris KILLED IT at the reception. We received countless compliments from our guests on the playlist and flow of the night (especially the Kesha mashup he put together). One of the organizers at our venue told us we had the highest proportion of guests dancing that she had ever seen at a wedding. At one point fewer than five of our 120 guests were still seated. We had a blast and our guests did too! I would highly, highly recommend Chris to my friends, family, and really anyone who needs a DJ ever.

Chris and Scott were amazing to work with!! A few minor delays were overlooked but corrected quickly. The music was amazing and everyone was dancing. We had friends that were going to leave and stayed 30 minutes longer because the music was so good. We had a great time!!!

Chris did a fantastic job DJing our wedding reception at The Boathouse. He was always very responsive during the planning process and was flexible with any ideas we had. All of our guests had a great time at the reception and I attribute that to Chris' ability to get the guests out on the dance floor. We were open to song requests from guests (highly suggest) and Chris did a great job meeting those requests. Capitol city sound does a wonderful job at reasonable prices.

Scott and Chris went above and beyond for our daughter's reception. We gave them a list of songs and I think they played everyone and more! The lights, fog, strobes and speakers were perfect!!! Scott did an awesome job at DJ ! We highly recommend Capitol City Sound!!!

Chris Snodgrass was our wedding DJ a month ago and was better than we could have asked for. Kept things going very smoothly all night. He played the music I requested during dinner and cocktails, then did a great job picking the music for dancing. Perfect!

Capitol City Sound DJ's run a very professional operation. Very easy to work with, kept the night moving along, great music, everyone was dancing the whole time! Our dance floor was over flowing!

Wouldn’t change a thing! Chris Leas of Capital City Sound Dj’d our outdoor wedding in very rural Centerburg, OH (by recommendation of my friend who is a wedding planner and sees tons of Columbus-area DJs). He had no problem keeping the dance floor full. My husband and I both used to bartend in Chicago for years, so we’ve seen plenty of DJs who are just oblivious to what’s working and what’s not. Chris doesn’t miss a beat and knows what works. Trust him and let him do his job.

We’re also both pretty particular about our music. He was genuinely interested in our taste and suggested I provide a list of around 40 songs (if I wanted) that we like, or that we would want to hear from the moment guests arrived to the moment they left. This was all he needed to determine our style, but he was also great about considering everyone else who attended – it’s not just about the bride and groom!

His paperwork is thorough and ensures he will have everything covered – special announcements, do-not-play list, even bridal party name pronunciations to avoid awkward slip-ups. I also think it’s worth mentioning that he was responsive in emails and very flexible when I wanted to make a last-minute change in the ceremony songs. No big deal. He is a true professional. We even gave him some extra cash to stay an hour longer. People didn’t want to stop dancing!

Highly recommend!

I was so pleased with Chris and Capitol City at my daughter's recent wedding. He was very professional and really kept things moving smoothly all evening. I heard sooooo many comments about how great the music selection was and most of that was left up to him. He also worked well with the photographer and the venue. I definitely recommend Capitol City Sound!!

Chris Leas from Capital City Sound was incredible. He was extremely professional and and flexible. We had been to a wedding that Chris had DJed three years ago and knew he was the perfect one for our reception. The dance floor was filled the whole night. I truly believe that the music at a wedding can completely make or break the party - and for this reason I am so glad we went with Capitol City Sound for our DJ. Scott was our DJ and he was great! He met with the bridal party prior to our entrance and went through the entire timeline to make sure everything was perfect. We sent him a "must play" and "do not play" list and he made sure the music was perfect. The dance floor was full all night! We also had an acoustic guitar player play at the wedding and Scott and Capitol City Sound were so great to collaborate with him to get everything set up for his performance. Scott was also a great MC, moving the night along but never talking too much. Our wedding was such a great party and we can definitely thank Scott and Capitol City Sound for this!

Our DJ, Chris S. was FANTASTIC! He listened to all of our ideas and helped us plan the perfect reception. His music choices were a direct reflection of our tastes and he took all of our requests. We had a strict timeline for the evening and he kept us right on tract, acting as the perfect master of ceremonies. Our photographers and venue hosts even complimented his ability to keep the guests engaged throughout the evening as well as create a flawless reception. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Capitol City Sound to any couple for their special day!

He was my knight in shining armor the day of our wedding! He seriously took on so much that I didn't even expect him to do. There was confusion with the seating chart and he took care of that. He also got everyone up and having fun which is sometimes hard to do when most of the guests are 60+. I would definitely recommend this company.

Chris Leas with Capitol City was our wedding DJ and has done a fantastic job since day one with us. They were always accommodating for everything we needed, and did their job even when i failed to do mine - I turned in a video the day before the wedding, and Chris went above and beyond to make sure everything went through for us. At the reception, Chris made sure to keep everyone on the dance floor until the end, playing both Brazilian music and American music to keep everyone happy. I have no complaints - I could say my ceremony music was not as loud as I would like, but I never told them about my preferences for that, so they could not have guessed. I highly recommend this vendor.

There are a lot of decisions to make when planning a wedding, but the best decision we made by far was hiring Chris Snodgrass to DJ. The DJ has a huge responsibility and can make or break your day. Chris did an unbelievable job! We utilized his services for both the ceremony and reception. He did EVERYTHING we asked him to do. A lot of guests commented on food, venue, flowers, etc, but the consensus by all guests was that we had an amazing DJ. My wife and I were a little nervous that no one would be dancing, but he had everyone dancing and having a great time until midnight. He had the knowledge and experience to make it a great time for all. The quality of their sound system was unmatched. If we had it to do over again, we wouldn't change a thing. Great job Chris!!!!!

Chris Snodgrass was a pleasure to work with prior to the wedding, making everything very simple. During the wedding and reception he was very professional while being extremely nice. He kept things flowing, giving my groom and I a warning a couple minutes before something was to happen, and allowed extra time before if we weren't ready. Transitions were seemless and he kept people dancing. We even received several compliments from guests about him.

You will love working with Capital City Sound! Chris Lease was the DJ for my daughters wedding and he was fantastic. He was very responsive to our phone calls and questions, extremely professional , warm, friendly and knows how to keep the dance floor filled. We had such a wide variety of ages at our reception and the dance floor was full the entire night. They provided the music for cocktail hour, dinner and the rest of the evening and we had tons of compliments ! They will help make your special day one you will always remember!

Scott from Capitol City made our music something I didn't have to worry about in the wedding planning, and he executed his job wonderfully at the reception. He took all of our requests and our "no play" list very seriously, was very accommodating to our guests' requests, and generally just kept people on the dance floor the whole night, which is exactly what we wanted. I always say you can rate a DJ by whether or not people are disappointed when the music ends at the end of the night - and our guests were sorry to see him go! He was very professional, the service very affordable, and I would gladly recommend Scott and Capitol City for your wedding!

We were thrilled with Capitol City! They did a wonderful job! If I were to nitpick I would say that there were a couple songs played that weren't quite the version that we asked for, but everything else was so good that we can't really complain. If I could give them a 6 for Professionalism, I would have. We had one DJ (Chris Snodgrass from Capitol City) under contract but he found out that he would be out of town during our wedding due to training for his day job. He called us as soon as he found out and we were given the option to use a different DJ or get a full refund. They were very professional and courteous about the whole thing. We ended up choosing a different DJ with Capitol (Chris Leas) and were very happy with the result. Some of the songs that we didn't choose are the ones we remember most fondly from the night. They did a great job of controlling the flow of music - everyone was dancing all night! The floor was packed! And Chris was wonderful as the emcee. The DJ is such an important part of the reception and we are very grateful to Capitol as they helped shape the reception into what we dreamed it could be. And to their pricing was VERY reasonable. We would hire them again in an instant!

I never had to worry about our Chris since he was always prepared, responsive, and was well prepared to DJ at our wedding. Chris did everything that we asked and more for our wedding. I would definitely recommend Capitol City Sound to others since they were well worth the price and gave a great performance.

We loved our DJ! He did a wonderful job incorporating my gazillion song requests, made the timeline go smoothly (especially when my day of coordinator had to leave early), and was very energetic on the microphone for announcements. We had a daytime wedding and he still got tons of people to dance! He went above and beyond helping with some of the details that I wasn't able to complete on my own. They use Bose speakers, which sound amazing, and really does a great job keeping the right feel throughout the whole event. If I had to do everything again, I would certainly choose Capitol City Sound Disc Jockeys again!

Chris DJd our wedding in August 2012 and we couldn't be happier !!! He did a wonderful job keeping people on the dance floor ( even though the weather was perfect outside and everyone was hanging out there) and he also was incredible helpful/flexible on the day of the wedding. He ran the show perfectly -NOT CHEESY at all- and we got tons of compliments!

I wanted a DJ who would play what we wanted, would not play what we didn’t want, would talk as little as possible, and was not annoying when they did talk. Chris S. delivered on all points. He also arranged a song we wanted to use for our introduction so that the lyrics wouldn’t play (a little inappropriate for a wedding, but we liked the introduction to the song). Communication with him was not the best when planning for the wedding day; however, it was not bad either. Just ok. Sometimes he would respond to an email right away, sometimes it was over a week before he responded. I also sent him an email a few weeks before the wedding with the specific songs we wanted played during the cocktail hour, dinner, and the later hours. When I met with him a few weeks before the wedding I told him I would be sending the email. However, when my wedding coordinator called him to confirm all the details, he said he never got the email with the songs. However, those really are the only things I can complain about and everything turned out exactly how we wanted the day of.

A delight!

We went with Capitol City Sound on recommendation from a company who'd used them for a corporate event. We worked with Chris for the wedding package and he was a delight to work with- was extremely helpful and was a great team player when we asked only weeks away to add a photobooth to our package. Scott Stem was our DJ and he was great! So fun and funny, keeping the night on track with his great emcee skills. We had a funny moment in which my cousin had to come get permission from me to play a certain music genre because Scott knew both the groom and I were adamant on this condition. It made me so happy to see how far Scott was willing to go to keep our vision in tact. I would 100% recommend going with Capitol City Sound.

Capitol City was way less expensive than the other DJs I'd checked (skimped on the DJ and splurged on the photographer, since photos are what lasts). We had some hiccups in the ceremony with abruptly switching songs to follow my playlist... although it's probably my fault for not being on top of who-walks-when, I wish he would have let the music play through for a better flow. Anyway, the music sounded great, he was extremely flexible, and very patient with indecisive/micromanaging bridezilla-ness. Would definitely recommend Chris Leas!

Great DJ, listened to us carefully, did not try to sell us any cheesy add-ons, and made sure the dance floor was never empty! Very easy to work with!

Chris was great to work with! We didn't have many requests, but when we did, he was fairly quick to respond. Our one request was to keep people out on the dance floor -- and he did just that! A great DJ for a great price!

You can't beat the quality for the price. Great equipment with superior sound. Chris Leas was our DJ, he played exactly what we wanted and made sure to find all the songs for our special moments. He also made sure to play our guests requests and download the songs on the spot if they weren't in his library already. I would definately recommend them for your next event.

We were very happy with the service that we were provided with by Chris. Our guests really enjoyed dancing and the dance floor was packed the whole evening! The only thing that I was disappointed by was that he did not play all of the songs that we had requested and instead played others that were not on our list. Overall, as a DJ he did a terrific job of staying organized and facilitating the events of our reception. The sound quality of the equipment was great. We would most certainly recommend him for future wedding receptions!

Chris was great to work with and everything went smoothly. The only critique is that I wish the second system used for the ceremony was also used in the bar area, as you could not hear the music outside at the Venue

I was very disappointed with Capitol City Sound when I used them for my wedding a few months ago. I was asked to provide Chris (our DJ) with a list of songs we would like to be played at our reception. My family and I worked very hard to generate a list of songs that we thought would be good for the reception. During the reception, Chris only played maybe 3 of the songs I had requested. Luckily, I have a large, fun, family that was willing to dance, so it didn't end up really mattering what he played. He was also very difficult to work with. He lost some of my paperwork, and called me with the missing information 3 days before the wedding. When he discovered that we were disappointed with his work, he was very rude and extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this company based off of my experience.
