Wonderful shoot with Shalis!
Shalis knocked it out of the park with our maternity pictures! She really took the time to get the perfect photos! Her cute props were a wonderful addition to our outdoor rustic look! Great with kids and babies! We now have a lifelong photographer and friend! -

Alex and his assistant were both very fun and professional. They were prompt and great with keeping my family on track during family photos. They even taught my grandma how to do the Cupid shuffle. I highly recommend them! -

Call it magic productions just did our engagement photos and we are thrilled to have them as our wedding photographers. We all know how stressful wedding planning can be but they made the booking process and contract signing stress free and simple, not to mention, their prices are very reasonable for what you get. I would highly recommend to any brides fed up with searching for a wedding photographer, you won’t be sorry. -

They did our engagement and wedding photos and saved us a bunch of money compared to the other high prices out there that did not impress me online.. The photos I got from Call it Magic are better than I expected! We highly recommend them!! -

I had spent months looking for a photographer. When I messaged her she was excited and supportive of my requests. She had never done pictures of dogs or a paint fight but I was strapped for money so I thought I’d give her a shot. And let me tell you... she did AMAZING! They came out better than I had expected them to. I’m so happy to say she’s gonna be my wedding photographer. Her price is reasonable, she’s fun and throws out ideas too, she helps you look good, and all around amazing. My pictures say it all. Such a fun shoot! -

Shalis was the videographer for my daughter's wedding. Booking was very easy and she answered all my questions thoroughly. She's super quick to respond to texts or messages on her website or Facebook. The prices can't be beat, the edited video is beautiful and she has given us the option to purchase the raw footage, also. I highly recommend Call It Magic!! -

This is the best bang for your buck in the Kansas City area!! Call it Magic is the best price we found for our wedding and topped the charts compared to the other photographers that have been to our venue. This girl needs to up her pricing because she produces the best pictures as well as being laid back, easy to work with and reliable. -

*Note: Our wedding was held on Maya 8, in the middle of COVID-19, when city/state mandates were continually changing. I recognize that vendors and brides alike were grasping to make Plan B's and decide what course to take.* On the day of our wedding, Shalis showed up to our Plan B location (my parents' backyard) and shot our 20 minute wedding ceremony, cake cutting and family pictures. She went with the flow, and suggested poses or body angles which were much appreciated! We were satisfied with how she captured our wedding. She then went with us to our original ceremony site, to take some pictures at Wyandotte County Lake Park. We were able to capture the sunlight, breeze and lake beautifully, she spent more time than we were sure we were going to get. I am happy with the pictures she captured of the day. However, it was a challenge to communicate with CIMP before the ceremony. Never having planned a wedding, I was unsure about a lot, from timing on the day of, to the kinds of pictures we wanted captured. And then, once we realized we'd have to change our plans due to COVID-19, I was unsure what would be the best choice to make regarding photos, and I tried asking several questions, most of which weren't answered. CIMP is a great value and I really appreciated the different package options, in terms of hours on the day of. I also recognize that this does not include a sit down consultation, just email/phone. I only wish that if I could have had some questions answered upfront, I'd have known better what to expect on the day of. -

Do not use this photographer under any circumstances. It took her six months to get us our photos and we STILL have not received the album we paid for after nine months. And, she posted our photos right here without our consent. I don't like to post negative reviews, but honestly, this has been the worst customer experience I've ever had. -

Do not hire call it magic productions!
Future Brides, if you are looking for a photographer, keep looking.
Call it magic productions gave me the run around for months.
Shalis (the owner) is very unorganized, unprofessional, and rude. She emailed me telling me her employees were "incompetent" because they wrote down the wrong address for my flash drive. Talking about people that work for you like trash won't keep a business going for long. She confused me for another couple because we had the same first name a week after my wedding. I had emailed her asking when to expect my photos and she said she would send them on said day. Turns out she mean't the other couple. Of course I was upset after expecting them on that said day and instead of emailing to inform me about the mix up, I had to email her. Moving on... A month later I was sent 600+ UNEDITED photos and 14 edited photos. She told me to go through and pick which ones I wanted in my keepsake album and which ones I would like to be edited.I'm sorry, but if you are sending me UNEDITED photos with only 14 edited and telling me to pick which one's I would like edited then why did it take a month for me to receive them? Anyways, I went through all the photos and picked which images I wanted and sent her an email back. A month later, I still have yet to receive a reply. I honestly figured " wow she must be booked with weddings" I get it, but I paid for my images like everyone else and tipped on top of the pictures because a tip was asked for.So I email Shalis asking on the status of my pictures and she emails me back telling me I need to go through the photos sent and pick the images I want. Wow. A little heated at this point, I inform her I did already. Long story short, it was in her "junk" mail and I didn't tell her what photos I wanted correctly. Instead of telling her 1,2,or 3 I need to tell her IMG_001. Well that was never specified. And every other email she has ever received from me was never in the "junk" album...
On the box app she uses, the photos disappear after a certain amount of time. And for some reason they were having issues all of a sudden with that app. So I had to download another app(dropbox) so she could RESEND my photos to me so I could go through and pick AGAIN.I receive my photos and notice I all of a sudden have 1,000+ UNEDITED photos I need to go through and pick 30 photos for my album and pick out extra ones I would just like edited. The photos I needed to go through included pictures of her feet, the ground, her colleague, and the sky. Please take the time to at least take "bloopers" like that out. Also my family photos were not great because the sun was directly in our faces in each picture.It took FOUR months to receive my keepsake album and flash drive. When looking at my photo album, some of the photos I chose were not in there. I had the same picture in there twice. Half of the photos were not edited STILL and were blurry. I have proof yet she wont redo it nor reply. Also, I had cops at my wedding because they came with the venue since we served alcohol. A photo of the cop cars were also in my album... WHY? On my flash drive were all my unedited photos and the 14 original photos I was sent in October.
I emailed her on January 15th telling her I would like my album redone with the photos I chose and my photos I asked to be edited TO BE EDITED. This is what I paid her for!!!! If I just wanted someone to take pictures and give them to me, I could've had a family member do it!!!!
Before she left my venue she also said that we owed her more money because she stayed longer. I told her how long I needed her and it was her choice to stay longer. So come time for her to collect the rest of the money, she informed my parents that more money was due and that people generally give them a "tip." So they gave her what was owed plus a $200 tip.
Please if you go with Shalis be sure to also read the contract. Her contract states to give her 8 weeks to receive pictures but in another section it says photographer is not responsible for how long it takes to get photo's. And if you get upset with her about ANYTHING, she will take longer and tell you how nasty of a person you are.
A wedding is a VERY SPECIAL time in your life. Yes, I am going to get upset about my photo's when delivery is taking way to long, I've gotten the run around, and the photographer is being rude. I was not a valued customer whatsoever. I do not recommend her and honestly with her attitude and immaturity, I am not sure how she still has a business going.
I have yet to get any type of response about editing my photo's also along with fixing my album. She did respond to my step mom instead of me though stating that she edited every single picture herself and was not going to issue any type of refund or fix anything yet I have proof of her poor quality work. -
