  My wife and I hired California Rose to cater our 150-person wedding in October and couldn't have been happier with the results. We even had 5-10 guests approach us to report that this was the "best wedding food I've ever had".
  
  Dov and Angy were flexible with our food preferences and budget, and they worked well with the other vendors to provide a seamless experience. I am so so happy we came across California Rose before choosing our wedding caterer--they were an absolute highlight of the night!

  We used California Rose for our wedding dinner reception (100 guests). One reason we selected them is that they provided coordination services and also took care of all the table, chairs, linens, dinnerware rentals. They are full-service and capable of handling any type of event. Our contact person was wonderful, mild-mannered, a pleasure to work with and very responsive to all our needs and questions. She gracefully solved some last-minute issues that arose, including during the event. The food was outstanding, we were able to customize the menu based on their recommendations and our guests raved about the food. Strongly recommended for anyone planning a party and needing catering.

  Our experience with California Rose Catering was top notch. This small company in Berkeley provided a wonderful wedding experience for our son's wedding reception at Piedmont Community Hall in August of this year. I was so thankful that we'd chosen California Rose, as I felt as if I had hired a wedding planner due to the attention we received from Angy. She kept me on track, managed all of our many demands with grace and humor, and was a delight to work with. Chef Dov Sims, whose engaging manner and excellent chef skills combined for a fabulous event, was also a pleasure to work with. We had quite a few "that was the best wedding food I have ever had" comments from guests. Thank you Dov and Angy for making our kids' wedding such a memorable and delicious occasion.

  They saved our wedding from the Cabana Hotel catering. We ran to them in a panic less than 2 months from our wedding after we decided that the Cabana was awful. They came up with a menu quick, worked within what we wanted to spend, and helped take over in dealing with the hotel. They even went with it when the hotel wouldn't let them use their servers. The food at the wedding was great. Everyone loved it.

  One of the 1st vendors we booked and I'm so glad we did. Dov and everyone at California Rose was awesome from start to finish. We wanted an entirely vegan wedding (we and our friends are a combination of mostly vegans and vegetarians). Based on great reviews I read about California Rose, I checked with Dov if he thought they could do an entirely vegan wedding. Not only did they do it, they did an amazing job and we are still getting rave reviews about the food that day. He seemed sincerely excited to have the opportunity to come up with a non-traditional menu for us. My husband and I actually had a hard time narrowing it down at the tasting, because everything we tried was phenomenal.
  They were so helpful and organized with the planning side of things, and took care of all necessary rentals. They even met me at the wedding site to do a walk-through. We brought in our own alcohol (great way to save money, if your venue allows this), and they were even helpful in suggesting how much to buy, and even offered to store and transport it for us. The service was excellent on the wedding day, though I didn't expect anything less from this great group of people. I will definitely keep them in mind the next time I am in need of catering services, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional (and delicious) company to work with.

  Tldr: AMAZING food and coordination (pre-wedding and day-of) from California Rose made the planning and actual wedding day perfect! Great match for relatively laid-back couples who want really delicious food, great service, and someone experienced to take care of rentals and help you think through the other details.

Angy, Dov, and Eric were helpful from the start -- our first venue fell through (!!), and they helped us find another one that fit our vision and budget. Throughout the process, they kept us calm, walked us through decisions about both food and rentals on the appropriate timeline, and took care of the nitty gritty details so we could focus on the other big decisions (officiant, DJ, invites, etc etc etc). Angy went on maternity leave right before our wedding, but she brought Eric into the transition early on so that he was fully up to speed, and we were in great hands on the wedding day.
  
  Our guests could not stop raving about Dov's food (and neither can we! Seriously, this food is incredible. Dov has a gift). It's inventive, perfectly prepared on-site, and super high quality -- and not THAT much more expensive than more standard catering options that aren't as fresh or delicious. 100% worth it if you like food (who doesn't?)
