We had our wedding in late February 2022 and are so happy to have found and booked Calamigos Ranch in Malibu!

Throughout the property you will find so many little things that will delight you and your guests. The attention to small details set Calamigos Ranch apart from other venues, the lights in the trees, the various nooks and sitting areas, the sound of relaxing water from creeks and fountains you hear almost everywhere, it all adds up to an unforgettable and amazing ambience.

The food that Calamigos Ranch offers for weddings is outstanding, truly high end with ingredients, preparation, presentation and of course taste. My husband and I have been trying sea bass everywhere since we had it as one of our main meals at our wedding and still can’t beat the one we had at Calamigos.

The way they do “room blocks” is a bit odd compared to what we are used to seeing (prebooked/paid vs. min. commit) … but we found the team to be very accommodating, helpful, and flexible when it came time to finalize all of the room arrangements.

We stayed on property a few days before and after the wedding, which gave us the opportunity to relax and really enjoy it as both a resort and wedding venue. The staff and particularly the team at the Ranch restaurant on property made it a very special week for us. Special thank you to Helen as our coordinator, bartenders Chris and Barbara, and restaurant manager Tyler! You all made our wedding unforgettable for us and our guests! The venue's beautiful water features and unique elements such as the carousel and ferris wheel helped us capture some amazing wedding photos. Highly recommend the Oak Room at Calamigos and also highly recommend booking the Estate Suites for your wedding night as the suite is absolutely gorgeous and huge! The venue was the perfect size for our 75 guests but can definitely fit way more if needed.

I am a local planner and I just wanted to recommend working with Shayne. The past couple weddings Shayne has gone above and beyond. Here responsiveness and customer service are incomparable. After covid it has been hard to get many venues to respond in a timely manner. Shayne has been a life saver.
I am grateful to have players like this on my team during an event.

THE DREAMIEST VENUE EVER. We were a “covid couple”…. originally supposed to be married in Oct 2020 but had to postpone to Sept 2021 and throughout the entire postponement process, Calamigos was so understanding and accommodating. I could not say enough good things at Calamigos – from the BEAUTIFUL property to the amazing food to the planning team to all in between – everything was best-in-class. Highly, highly recommend!!!!!

I can't even begin to describe what an amazing venue Calamigos was for a recent wedding I was in. The level of service was like nothing I have ever experienced! Amazing bartenders who remembered your name and drink night after night, servers with the utmost attention to detail - not to mention the delicious food and drink at the Malibu Cafe and the Ranch Club. The atmosphere is romantic, relaxing and it all comes with a personal touch. Candles with your names on them in the beautiful rooms along with complimentary wine and snacks in room - its like they thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. 10 out of 10 would recommend and we can't wait to go back!!

Calamigos Ranch exemplifies the term, Shangri-La. As we pulled into the Ranch we were greeted with professionalism and class from the valet attendants to the reception desk. Not to mention, a crisp glass of champagne while we checked in.

We stayed at the Ranch for three nights for a wedding and enjoyed every minute of our time there. Our Villa was spectacular- spacious, clean and comfortable. The outdoor shower was probably my favorite part of the Villa, however, the cozy/clean bed and strong air conditioning tie for a close second.

The pool area and grounds of the entire ranch are pristine- you can tell they take pride in keeping the space well kept. Aside from the beautiful landscape and amenities that Calamigos has to offer, the staff was also top notch. Very attentive and friendly, especially the bartenders! We started our mornings at the Ranch Club (my boyfriend swears by the breakfast burrito and their iced coffee) and spent most of the day relaxing poolside with cocktails and food brought right to our chaise lounge.

The last night of our stay was the Wedding and it was truly out of story book. Beautiful scenery for the ceremony, and the reception cocktail hour to dinner/dancing was nothing short of perfection.

Would HIGHLY recommend Calamigos Ranch to anyone looking for a Wedding venue or retreat type vacation. Thank you Calamigos and hope to be back someday!

Calamigos was so much more than we expected. The staff was very professional and accommodating. All of our bags were brought to our room upon check in and we were texted daily asking what time we would like our room to be tidied and if we needed anything. Each event of the wedding weekend was absolutely amazing, no detail was missed. The bartenders at the pool were even kind enough to create a signature cocktail of the for the bride and groom the day after the wedding. This was a terrific wedding venue that I know everyone enjoyed!

We attended my nephew's wedding in June. Immediately, when we arrived we were greeted by the valets. Our valet, Asher was beyond helpful, kind and courteous. We shared our bungalow with our two grown sons, who had to leave their wives and children behind in Texas. Our bedrooms were connected by a large bathroom stocked with everything one might leave behind. Our bungalow had a private porch with a bathtub, table and chairs, fountain and an additional seating area. We loved it! We asked for someone from maintenance to come out and check the A/C. Immediately, it was serviced and we were more than comfortable for our entire stay. It had been a long travel day for all of us. We were hungry and ate at the Ranch. We chose to eat outside on their manicured lawn, with twinkling lights above us. It was calming, and picture perfect. The waiter was attentive and answered all of our questions. Our sons each requested a different cut of steak.(We like our steaks in Texas!) To their surprise, the steaks were cooked to perfection! Additionally, we managed to find time to venture out to the beach. It was a 10 minute drive. We were greeted by a happy, female attendant, who escorted the five of us through a tunnel. At the end of the tunnel was a lovely beach and the beautiful ocean! Awaiting for us were five beach lounging chairs with a towel draped on each one. Nicco, the beach attendant was waiting for us. Upon request, he brought out two paddle boards. Our son and another wedding guest spent an hour paddle boarding along side dolphins!
We attended two events and the wedding at this venue. We were very impressed with the staff and Calamigos. It was truly a memorable stay for us!

What an amazing, beautiful place! This is the perfect setting for a wedding, corporate retreat, or an anniversary getaway. We spent three nights there for a wedding week and were just blown away by the attention to detail and exceptional service the ranch provided at every step - greeting getting out of our Uber, our bags were easily whisked away (and cold stuff put away in our room fridge without asking). Every person we interacted with here were very friendly and helpful from the front desk staff to the bartenders at each of the venues we experienced, to the grounds crews smiling and saying hello as we walked by. This is a sprawling resort with so many different settings for food & drink. The pool staff were amazing delivering us drinks in the pool, the bar staff at the Malibu Cafe were exceptional late night, and the breakfasts were amazing each morning at the Ranch Club. For a high-end resort, they think about the little things that people will appreciate along the way - examples like water fill and sunscreen stations at the pool, pool treats like popsicles they walked around and just handed out, and water and snacks waiting for you in your room. Little things that a resort like this could charge for but understands their customer and how these small touches go a long way with their guests. The bungalow rooms (some with outdoor showers) were like an oasis and very private. Highly recommend!!

The staff was helpful and attentive, the accommodations were beautiful, all around it was a lovely weekend and a lovely place and we CANT WAIT to come back!!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding on the property a few weeks ago. I can't begin to express how much of a 5 star experience it was. No detail was missed. From complimentary wine, candle (with your name and arrival date on it), and snacks in the room, to texts about when you'd like your room cleaned, to the huge outdoor shower, to one of the best breakfasts we ever had at the Ranch Club. They even had frozen coffee as the iced cubes in the iced coffee. Seriously, no detail was missed! The staff was top notch, remembering your names and drink choice from event to event. Be sure to take the trip down to the Malibu Beach Club. It has spectacular views, food, and service. Complimentary shuttle to and from as well! Couldn't have asked for a better wedding week for my friend (or us!). Will definitely be back.

What an experience! We were blown away by the beauty, staff and service at this resort. From the moment we checked in, we knew it would be an unforgettable few days. The rooms were clean and stocked with snacks and wine. The staff was friendly, helpful and kind. The pool, with the amenities every hour, was such a special touch! Breakfast at the Ranch Club was delicious every morning - the best salmon and lox! Every where you turn there was another beautiful area we were excited to experience. We were sad to leave and already talk about going back again one day. You don’t want to miss an opportunity to go here!

We had the absolute best time during this wedding. The facility, staff and service were beyond any expectations. Can’t wait to go back for some relaxation and vacation time. Came all the way from Boston and wasn’t disappointed! Love this place

We had the most unbelievably perfect wedding at Calamigos (Birchwood Room) in March 2021 thanks to their amazing Weddings/Events Team. The Team repeatedly went above & beyond for us - from generously letting us reschedule our wedding (twice!) due to the pandemic, to quickly answering our questions during the planning process, to providing such outstanding service during our wedding weekend, the Calamigos Wedding/Events Team stopped at nothing to make sure we had the best experience possible. We were treated so well throughout the entire process, and the Team really made it feel so personal and special. Everything during our ceremony and reception went perfectly, the food was amazing, the service was incredible - it was all so wonderful. On top of all that, Calamigos has many excellent Covid safety protocols in place - we all felt very safe the entire time. We are so appreciative of everything Cate, Helen and the rest of the Weddings/Events Team for us - it was truly the wedding of our dreams thanks to them!

Absolutely beautiful venue. Each "room" feels like your own little world. My wife and I decided to have our wedding here in the Redwood Room and we couldn't have chosen a more stunning place. Cate helped us out along the way and with the final details. Highly recommend booking here if you're looking to have a beautiful event.

Stunning, breathtaking, pure beauty - the wedding office team at Calamigos in addition to their Guest Ranch hospitality service is simply off the charts. These people are veterans who will take care of you every step of the way - they're collaborative, responsive, family friendly, and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure your special day at their venue is as beautiful as can be. We hosted 30 guests at the Birchwood Room during a pandemic (outdoors, masks on, negative tests, etc) and it was simply stunning! If you're looking for a one of a kind venue with a one of a kind staff, take a trip up the PCH and bask in the beauty of this place. I'm a wedding planner, and it's no surprise that I receive a TON of requests for Calamigos every year! The options for wedding ceremonies and receptions are absolutely gorgeous. The food is unique and super yummy (not your stereotypical wedding banquet hall food). For anyone who loves the design of Wayfarer's Chapel but wants ceremony and reception in the same space, the Oaks room is an incredible option. The wedding staff makes it easy to plan (and to make changes should you change your mind on anything). I highly recommend them if you're looking for a venue to wow your guests!

Great venue! A little cold in December.

Our friends got married here a couple years ago and we loved the venue. We used the oak room. I liked that the venue was half inside and half outside. It was a little colder than we thought it would be but most of our guests were from the midwest

This venue came together after we lost our first venue during the 2018 fire season. Calamigos survived and they were very accommodating to the weddings that lost their venue. They helped us and we were able to have the wedding of our dreams at a beautiful location. We took the first Saturday we could and grabbed the Oak Room location which gave us a beautiful waterfall backdrop. It couldn't have been more perfect, I highly recommend Calamigos Ranch for any wedding or event.

I am a wedding planner and love working at Calamigos. Their hospitality is completely on par with orchestrating a beautiful wedding. They take special care of the bride and groom as well as each guest. I cannot say what a breathe of fresh air it is to work at a property I know my clients will be well taken care of.

Our special day was just magical and planning it with the venue was so easy and they always emailed us back in a timely manner. Everything was perfect!

Cindy and her team at Calamigos really pulled through for our wedding at the Beach Club! Our event was the first after the Malibu fires so we weren't too sure what to expect, but the team made the day work out perfectly. Everything was beautiful and couldn't have worked out better. All of the staff at Calamigos was also fantastic.. highly recommend!!

We had our wedding at Calamigos a week ago and are still having a hard time believing how well it all came together, in large part thanks to the service of the Calamigos staff. Everyone from the servers and bus people to the front office staff provided top notch service (special shout outs to Cindy on the wedding side and Kristi on the hotel side, simply amazing).
We were married at the North Point Pavilion, which was a gorgeous venue. We had great prep rooms prior to the ceremony which certainly was a huge benefit to my wife. The lighting in the afternoon was phenomenal, and there were a large variety of places we took amazing pictures, including in little forests, in front of the Ferris wheel and in the grape vines.
For the reception, we did a cocktail hour, during which we took family photos while our guests started the party, with passed apps. The staff for food service was great, and everyone really seemed to enjoy their meals (we did the mid-priced option with a steak, chicken and veggie options - I had the steak which was cooked well, but the veggie one was truly awesome, some sort of risotto thing that my wife got that was surprisingly rich and satisfying).
We used a day-of coordinator (Annette of Simply Natural Events, who was great and had an easy going but organized staff). We all used Jenny Smith for photos, Wave Form Entertainment for DJ, Press Films for videography and Exotic Green Gardens for our florist - would recommend th

We had our wedding at the Malibu Cafe. It is beautiful. We picked it because it was already nice there without having to add too many decorations. The staff was very helpful the day of. Everyone thought the food was great! Only drawback is this is a public restaurant and can get crowded, so something to keep in mind if you can’t rent out the whole restaurant.

I have produced several weddings over the years at Calamigos Ranch. Their venue options are beautiful. each venue accommodates a multitude of weddings from small and intimate to larger scale weddings. I have always felt i have had great support with the staff from office to maintenance. The mountain air, waterfalls and beautiful trees always make my clients and guests feel like they are far away from the city without actually leaving the city. Malibu is home to Calamigos and is a destination unto itself, even to locals. The landscape of Calamigos Ranch is constantly maintained and is the epitome of rustic romance. Hands down one of my favorite wedding spots in Los Angeles.

I had my wedding at Calamigos and it was everything I ever dreamed of! The office was super responsive and attentive to all of my questions (there were a lot). The site itself is so beautiful and they even connected me with the great planners at DB Creativity so I could enjoy my big day, which I did! The food and drink were wonderful and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

We got married in the Birchwood Room (their smallest spot) and I cannot begin to describe how beautiful this venue is. Our guests are still gushing about it! From the moment we arrived at Calamigos, we knew this was the place for us. You get the gorgeous outdoor vibe without actually having to work out how to lug a bunch of wedding items into the wilderness. We didn't have any flowers (not even a bouquet) because it really didn't need it. There's a damn waterfall as a background for the ceremony - who can top that? Our contact Nicole was amazingly responsive and helpful (and if you happen to need help on your person's day off all the other staff are more than happy to help). You might initially feel a little sticker-shock but, as a previous reviewer mentioned, basically everything is included, so it ends up being pretty reasonable. They even do discounts for Jan/Feb weddings and in SoCal that's still totally fine (especially since they have heat lamps). The benefit of most everything being included was that everything runs like a well oiled machine - the food was amazing (not to mention hot and on time) and the drinks flowed freely. At the end of the night my new husband and I stayed at the hotel on the property, which was not only luxurious but greatly simplified the end of the evening for us. It is a little bit out of the way - roughly an hours drive for most of our guests - but Uber and Lyft were pretty reasonable and remarkably fast at getting there for everyone. Do yourself a favor and check out the venue if you can - you'll fall in love the moment you get there.

The Ranch has a unique vibe of the hidden forest full of waterfalls, trees and beautiful flowers. Calamigos Ranch has several rooms - depends of how many guest you are expecting.

What we really like about the Calamigos Ranch as a wedding vendors - is the great event manager respond to our requests-very professional!!!

The venue has own resort which is the plus for bride and groom who want to get ready there.

For the pictures and videos the venue has a plenty of very cute bridges, trails and romantic spots.

As my 2nd wedding anniversary is rapidly approaching I felt compelled to write a review because of how much of a dream my wedding was. Calamigos is the most beautiful venue and they have the most amazing staff to insure your day is absolutely perfect. When my husband and I look back on our day there is not a single thing we would change. I can not say enough about this venue. The food is amazing, the location is perfect, their vendors are the best. Our wedding was absolutely a dream come true for us because of the wonderful Calamigos staff and our coordinator Erin Bagaason who went above and beyond insuring my day ran smoothly. Thank you Calamigos for making my wedding day dreams come true!!

This was our second venue we found and we fell in love with it as soon as we did. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Dreamy, rustic, romantic, and relaxing..everything we wanted. The service was great, everyone is so nice and helpful, communicated great with me through the entire process, and answered any questions we had. Reminded us when things were needed or due, and I never had a problem with them. We got married at The Oak Room, while all the different areas were beautiful, this was the most fitting for us, and it was so unreal. The venue has a lot included with the prices, but it definitely is not a cheap place. It was completely worth it though, the dinner buffet was delicious, not a single thing I did not like. The service for the wedding party through the night was way more then what i expected. Served us drinks all night, and made sure we had everything we needed...Not only did we do our Ceremony & Reception here, we also rented "The Island" for our rehearsal dinner, which was so romantic, secluded, and again, the food was delicious. Calamigos is amazing, and gave us the greatest memories of our life. Highly Recommend.

My husband and I have been visiting Calamigos Ranch for years, and when he proposed, the obvious choice where to get married was Calamigos Ranch. We were marriend in the "main dining room" which is now called "the Redwood Room". We could have not asked for a better place/setting. The chandeliers, waterfalls, fireplace just made our entire night absolutely unforgettable. We wanted a romantic-but-simple feel to the day, which was so easy to obtain with this venue. Since our wedding, so many of our newly engaged friends have asked about this place as they would love to host their wedding there. LOVE everything about this place, staff, food, location. btw, the staff is amazing!! Samantha is the best!

An absolutely breath taking venue. It was my first choice and I'm so happy I went and saw it in person. It is so amazing and a gorgeous place to step away from reality and into your own world.

Amazing venue. The staff, the food, the atmosphere was perfect. It's one of our favorite places for wine and relaxation so getting married at Calamigos Ranch started us off and makes it more "ours" now. Romantic, fun and just perfect. They do it right!

Calamigos Ranch is absolutely gorgeous! You will not be disappointed with how beautiful this venue is. My guests could not stop saying how they felt like they were in a fairy tale come to life and I felt the same! It was beyond a dream come true!
Working with Samantha and Nicole was outstanding. They were professional, kind, understanding, and prompt. They are masters at what they do! On the night of the reception, the staff was incredible. They were attentive, quick, and thorough. They run a tight ship!
The lights used throughout the ranch make it magical and I love the rustic feel. We used a lot of handmade decor, including a book arch, vanity, and paper flowers to incorporate our theme and look but you do not need much to dress it up!
Everyone enjoyed their dinner. My husband and I were especially excited about the black kale salad. I wish we could have spent a little more time tasting everything, but receptions move quickly!
One extra little pro - if there is space available you can explore the grounds and take photos in other locations, even your engagement photos! We found some rather stunning spots!
It had been noted that it is a little pricey, and that may seem true, but keep in mind that Calamigos provides all tables, chairs, flatware, linens, food set up and clean up, 3 hours open bar, valet, lighting, coffee and tea, extra tables (gifts, guest book, etc), and a picturesque evening. When you add all that up, it's very affordable, especially for the area. We were very budget conscious and made it work!
My husband could not be happier with our wedding day and Calamigos Ranch helped to make it all the more special!

Stunning venue, helpful staff, everything was great! We worked mostly with Samantha Douglas, who was very easy to communicate with and always answered my emails within 1 business day of receiving them (usually in even less time than that!). As far as day of-- Our friends and family can't stop talking about how beautiful the setting was. The staff was amazing and took great care of us (my beer glass was never empty!). I know that this is a venue that is almost exclusively for weddings but I never felt like we were "just another wedding" to them. Thanks Calamigos!

Wow, we got married at "The Oaks" at Calamigos Ranch, and it was magical. There aren't any words to describe how beautiful the trees, the waterfall, the lights and all other strategic details around the ranch are. We will never hear the end of how amazing this venue was from our guests. It was probably the hottest day of summer unfortunately, so it was a quite hot even with all of the shady trees, but that's something that is out of anyone's control. Despite the heat, everybody had a wonderful time and loved the food and location. It's also nice that the ranch is so large that there are several great photo opportunities not only in the location of your ceremony, but also in areas around the location. There are four different venues within Calamigos to choose from, which is awesome too. We are still debating which part of the day was the prettiest - daytime, dusk or nighttime. Calamigos made sure to make their venues gorgeous during every moment of the day. The staff was friendly, easy to work with and professional. I highly recommend Calamigos Ranch!!

Awesome venue!!! 5 out of 5 stars because our wedding went off without a hitch. I do think it's fair to warn people that the tasting only happens a few times a year and is a group event on a weekday. That would be the only non positive thing I'd have to say, but it wasn't even that bad. Food was amazing, staff was very helpful, and the setting was perfect. 5 out of 5 stars!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Calamigos Ranch - The Oaks location. We lucked out in two ways...(1) They did renovations on the waterfall and patio from the time we saw it and to wedding day --they made a grander, breathtaking waterfall and an extended patio that could fit 4 times more guests than we had and (2) it started to drizzle in the morning of our wedding and Calamigos (even with their raining day policy) offered us to move to their Grand Hall (an indoor venue) with no extra charge! We loved our venue too much so we took the chance that it would not rain for the ceremony...and it didn't! The venue was beautiful, yes, the food was delicious, yes, but the service was spectacular. They are a great place to celebrate your wedding you will absolutely love how it turns out. They are truly professional and genuinely caring to make sure your day turns out to be the best for you.

Calamigos was amazing! There's not much more you can do to Calamigos. It's already so beautiful. Great customer service. Everyone was very accommodating. They let me store my generous amount of decor overnight and let my lighting guys come in earlier to set up. I'm very happy with how everything looked. If I could do it over and over, I would choose Calamigos every time!

Nicole and team from Calamigos Ranch did an excellent job for my wedding! They were very thorough and responsive to any and all my questions! Plus, this location (all the sites) is BEAUTIFUL and I am so happy that I chose this site for my wedding!

Thank you doesn't even give justice to how much my husband and I appreciate having had the opportunity to hold our wedding at Calamigos Ranch. Calamigos was the FIRST and ONLY venue we looked at for our June wedding. The minute we walked on site, we were greeted from all of their friendly staff with smiling faces.

We booked our wedding at the Ranch House which is absolutely beautiful and almost like your very own secret garden. It has almost been a month since our wedding and I still receive DAILY phone calls that we had a gorgeous and enchanting wedding.

We give so much credit to Calamigos for making our day nothing less than perfection! The grounds were absolutely immaculate and we were able to turn the Ranch House into our own personal home which gave our wedding such a personable and intimate feeling; something I've never experienced before at this level.

Prior to the wedding, the entire staff I worked with was very pleasant and always willing to answering any and all of my questions. They were great about sending helpful reminders along the way which really makes a difference when you are in touch with so many vendors!

We all know you don't go to a wedding to expect a fabulous meal. However, I was shocked at how delicious everything tasted! We were not able to make it to the tasting that was held so we went into our meal selection blind. We highly recommend the prime rib, salmon, and mushroom ravioli! During cocktail hour, the bridal parties had to finish photos and the staff continued to impress us when they went out of their way to find us. They made sure we ate the appetizers and our glasses were full of champagne!

We HIGHLY recommend Calamigos Ranch and we will forever consider ourselves the lucky ones that we were able to say "I DO" at the most beautiful venue I've ever seen!!

Our wedding turned out amazing! We got married at the garden patio/ main dining hall. It was so beautiful. Literally every guest commented on the venue and how beautiful it was.

I would recommend Calamigos to any bride. They are professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They are a wedding factory, so if and when things go wrong, like the weather, they know exactly what to do and how to solve it without breaking a sweat. The grounds our absolutely gorgeous, my guests still can't get over how beautiful the ceremony and reception venues were. You don't need to do much with decor at Calamigos because the grounds set such the tone. Their basic packages include food and some alcohol, but they have a lot of different upgrades and options to fit your specific budget and guest needs. Their wedding office and day of staff were so helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. We feel like we had the best wedding ever, largely due to Calamigos!

STUNNING. Every second of my wedding was magical. The grounds, the natural decor, the food, the service....EVERY SINGLE detail was so perfect- it was a dream. All of our guests complimented on the location. From beginning to end, this place offers little details and unforgettable memories. I can't imagine marrying the man of the dreams anywhere else. You will never regret it, not a single second. Calamigos Ranch is impeccable!

This is simply the most magical and professional venue one could want, and the food was incredible. We opted for the buffet, and people were going back for second and third helpings. Where else can you walk down the aisle over a little waterfall, get married in a little grotto then simply turn around and walk indoors for a lovely reception. The Calamigos team makes sure everything goes off without a hitch. They are used to wrangling film shoots as well. They really know what they're doing. Calamigos really made our wedding day extraordinary.

We just celebrated our wedding at Calamigos in July 2011 and it was truly an event to remember! We chose the Oaks as our venue. It's one of the smaller locations, and it was just right for our 85 guests. The entire place was very impressive and photo-friendly... even the path leading up to the ceremony and reception areas. All around the property were fountains, nice landscaping, and trees with hanging twinkle lights. The vineyard and horse sculptures at the entrance were also very picturesque.

The entire staff was a pleasure to work with - the Weddings & Banquets team, the wait staff, the bartenders, the valet, and even the groundskeepers and cleaning crew! They were all very professional and super-helpful. Everyone at the head office kept very good notes. Throughout the planning process, I called often, asked a lot of questions, and even dropped by to take measurements and drop off payments, and they were always very friendly and accommodating every time. I even got to "hugging terms" with a couple of the reps because they saw and spoke to me so often... mainly, Claudia and Cindy, who were absolute dolls!

As many of the other reviewers have already mentioned, they don't offer tastings, but there's nothing to worry about... the food is very good and plentiful! We chose the sit-down dinner option and the portions for the salad and entree were huge! We also added the Passed Hors d'Oeuvres and they were absolutely delicious!!! I would highly recommend adding them, if your budget is permitting. It was worth it for us since many of our guests were foodies, had big appetites, or both.

I also appreciated the fact that almost everything was taken care of by one point of contact. They provide a lot in their packages. The only things that we were responsible for were the officiant, photographer, cake, music, and flowers. Everything else (catering, wait staff, bar service, rentals, valet, etc.) was taken care of by Calamigos. (I couldn't imagine having to book all of those vendors individually!) And since everything is readily available on their property, they can also do things like add extra tables and chairs and things like that at no additional charge... which is nice.

I would definitely recommend Calamigos for your wedding or special event. All of our guests were complimenting us on the venue. It's definitely not the typical hotel or country club, it's much much more.

I cannot say enough about the location and the staff at Calamigos Ranch, they did an amazing job and were so eas going, which is a plus when your planning your own wedding. They accomodated us the day of the wedding as we were affraid ain might ruin things...they quickly moved everything indoors so our guests could enjoy the event without freezing to death!

All of my guests were in awe of its beauty! The grounds are kept up and they really take pride in their venue. Not only is Calamigos Ranch breathtakingly beautiful, but the service is incredible. Our contact was the amazing Erin, who really knows her stuff. She could answer any crazy question we threw her way, and was very willing to work with us and our budget for add-on items like the open bar, fabric draping, chiavari chairs, etc. With her and the rest of the staff's years of experience, none of our unique requests (such as a signature cocktail menu) were a problem to accommodate. We felt very confident in being in her hands for our big day, and rightfully so, as I was pleased to see everything set up exactly as I wanted when I arrived at the reception. I also appreciated that the head waiter made sure my husband and I had passed hors d'eouvres during cocktail hour when we were taking our pictures, and that we had a chance to eat and drink at dinner. In line with other reviews of CR, you don't have to worry about the fact that they don't do food tastings, as the food is superb. And even though it was one of the hottest days of the year, the entire garden patio was shaded by the tall trees, so none of our guests baked in the sun.

The staff at Calamigos is extremely friendly and professional. From the initial meeting to the day of the wedding they provided us with the best service. We received many compliments from our guest about the venue and the wonderful food. We would recommend this location to anyone who wants a beautiful and unforgettable wedding day!

Calamigos was a dream! The venue is gorgeous. The staff is amazingly supportive, on-top-of-it and cheerful. The food was astonishingly better than we'd expected. We went with the buffet which included one entree (chose artichoke chicken - perfection), grilled veggies, endless spectacular salad and everyone's fav: pasta bar. No one went hungry including the chauffeur. The food was more than abundant. They've thought of everything for you, deal with curve balls, and are so reasonably priced. They are also the perfect blend of friendly-casual and totally professional. You really cannot beat this magical venue. Hollywood knows this. They film there constantly. And you can drop into Malibu cafe for a delicious, fun and reasonable lunch during the planning phase. We had our rehearsal lunch there. It was super fun.

When my fiance (now husband) and I were looking around central and southern California for potential wedding venues, we focused our search around oceanfront venues exclusively - there was no question about it; we wanted to get married by the ocean, which had so much meaning for both of us. With this in mind, we were visiting a handful of venues around Malibu and happened to check out Calamigos Ranch on a whim. We instantly fell in love, despite there being no ocean view at all!

Instead what we got was the most amazing, gorgeous foresty venue. We fell in love with the draping trees, twinkle lights strung around the entire property, the amazing staff, the variety of wedding sites, and overall the tranquil feeling of the place. The food options were great, and the bar service was amazing (instead of making all your guests wait in line, the wait staff brings around trays to fuel your guests. They also surprised us by waiting at the exit of our ceremony with champagne for the wedding party!). We felt very attended to by the wait staff during the reception; my husband and I were total newbies so they even helped us through the cake cutting and champagne toasts!

Many people feel that it's sort of a "wedding factory" since they do SO many weddings, but there's a reason why so many couples marry here - it's just so gorgeous and awe-inspiring. Our contact, Erin Bagaason, was incredibly responsive and put us completely at ease. We also harassed the rest of the wedding office staff with our questions and they were all so professional and experts at what they do. Never did we feel passed around or nickle and dimed for every single little thing we needed for the wedding (which is one of my peeves with wedding vendors). Anything I asked, they were very knowledgeable about and could handle effortlessly (such as needing tables of various sizes, relocation in case of rain, alternating tablecloth colors, wedding site switching, etc etc). We made a ton of changes to our wedding early on and in the last days right before the wedding, and everything was handled perfectly!

Thanks to all of the reviews I had read about Calamigos, I knew what to expect so I didn't run into any problems. So things to be aware of include (for your reference!):
1. No food tastings: Don't worry, it was really good! Better than hotel food for sure!
2. You have to get all of your stuff out of the dressing rooms prior to the ceremony: Just assign people to help you move your belongings to the car and plan ahead!
3. You do end up talking to a lot of different people in the wedding office: They kept really good notes so even if we were talking to someone new, they had all our information on file. We also were in good contact with our original sales person (Erin), so any contract questions were handled immediately by her.
4. The rooms for rent might be shady: I didn't personally stay in the rooms they had for rent in Calamigos. At first, I thought it would be fun to stay on the venue, but TripAdvisor and other sites had comments that seem to all agree that it's pretty sub-par. Just stay at the Renaissance Agoura Hills which is on the way back to the freeway!
5. Keep track of your timelines: They don't call you to remind you about payments or anything. I just wrote it all down in my calendar and didn't have a problem remembering payment due dates and such myself!

This place was very accomodating and all went off with out a hitch. They have a small staff and each say they can help you. I highly recommend sticking with the same person throughout the process.

Calamigos Ranch has built a reputation for excellence, and this reputation is fully warranted! The staff was incredibly helpful and professional and truly cared about us as people. Our Maitre d' was incredible-- she coordinated much of the evening with grace and wisdom, making sure that we ate and checking to ensure that we hadn't left anything behind. We loved her! The ceremony coordinator (yes, they have a ceremony coordinator which is included in the price!) was incredibly professional, hilarious, and thoughtful. She helped to ease our nerves. Our wedding was in the Garden Patio/Main Dining Room, both of which were absolutely magical. Strongly recommended.

Calamigos was the best choice of venue! It is a gorgeous site and the staff knows exactly what to do - which was especially helpful because I was planning my wedding from San Diego. They go above and beyond; for example, I was winging it with the cake table. I set out two cakes on cake stands, with two more to go in the back for Calamigos to cut & serve and paid the florist to decorate the cake tables how she saw fit. When I picked up the cakes, they were much prettier than I expected, but just stayed the course. Calamigos put all of the cakes out, tiered them, and the florist decorated the table. It was GORGEOUS! It was wonderful to trust the professionals and for them to deliver.

If you are looking for a truly beautiful location to have your southern California wedding, this is the place! Perched up in the mountains near Malibu, Calamigos is a GORGEOUS location with 5 different venues to choose from depending on the size of your wedding and reception. My husband and I had our wedding in the main garden and our reception in the adjacent main dining hall - both were phenomenal. The garden is a beautiful setting for an outdoor evening wedding like ours with tons of twinkle lights strung throughout the trees and foliage and two peaceful waterfalls surrounding the area. It fit our 130 guests easily with plenty of room and the natural light at sunset with the twinkle lights and water was AMAZING. The reception in the main dining hall was fabulous - there is a huge dance floor area with lots of mirrors and a separate dining area through sets of cute french doors. There is a built in area for the bar and also a big stone fireplace - the ceilings are super high and dramatic so if you are looking to do fabric on the inside, it's great for that! On top of everything was the phenomenal food - we had the steak/potatoes and baby greens/candied nuts/bleu cheese/vinagrette and it was sooooo tasty! The appetizers were also delicious - my guests ate them up, along with the strawberry-capped glasses of champagne. The staff was incredibly professional and their wedding planning team helps you through the entire process and is always happy to answer your questions - I planned my wedding all the way from school in Chicago and I had NO PROBLEMS. For the money, it's a STEAL - 13,974 for a wedding and reception of 130 that included set-up, bar, food, staff, deposits, etc- perfect in every way and will definitely give you the goosebumps you've been dreaming of.

Calamigos was such an inspiring venue. We used the main patio for our ceremony site and the main dining room for the reception. The area looked exactly as I imagined it on the day of my wedding. Calamigos is very flexible and will work with you to get the look and feel that you want. They don't put a ton of restrictions on you. We found them to be very professional and friendly. The costs are pretty much up front so that you don't find yourself surprised by a bill of charges after your wedding. Our guests raved about the site and how beautiful it was. If I had to do my wedding all over again, I would absolutely work with them again.

I was so happy with Calamigos Ranch and their staff. They were so friendly and knew what they were doing. I didn't have to do much and they made it easy for us. Everyone at the wedding said it was one of the best they had been to. (probably being polite). When i look back on my wedding i wouldn't have done it any different. It was the perfect place. The food was good too!! We got engaged in December and the date we wanted to get married was already booked (they book fast)....but a weekend day opened in May. It was a mad dash to get the wedding together and they did it and made it look like i planned for a year. The pictures came out so nice because of the setting. I just can't say enough. We go back every year on our anniversary just to walk around and see the ranch and talk about our wedding day. Good luck on a happy marriage.

We had such an unforgettable wedding. All our guest had so much fun and the service were excellent. We couldn't have pick a better location. Everything was just perfect on the day, and was captured in our wedding photos.

From the moment I walked through the twinkle-lighted trees over the tiny brook and up to the the waterfall, I just knew that this was the place I wanted to get married. Not only were the settings right out of a fairytale, but the service was sensational. Everyone was helpful in answering all of my many, many questions. MonLi, was the kind woman "assigned" to me, and she did everything in her power to make my day all that I knew it could be. Included in the price (about $80/person) is free valet, white runner, use of bride and grooms rooms before ceremony, complementary champagne(before ceremony), use of ceremony and reception sites, all tables, linens, silverware, etc., unlimited wine & beer for 3 hours, choice sitdown or buffet style dinner (go w/ buffet, way more options and a beautiful presentation), and a day-of coordinator. They also include champagne w/ strawberries for each guest right after the ceremony! For all the service they include, the price seems just unbeatable, then add the twinklelights and the night of your life is yours for the taking!

Calamigos Ranch made our wedding day so easy and relaxing! They truly handled everything so that we could just enjoy ourselves. I was planning the wedding long-distance, so the fact that their package included tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, catering, and both ceremony and reception venues meant that I didn't have to deal with a bunch of different vendors and pay rental fees to all of them. It was all taken care of! Our wedding site was idyllic, and the reception hall cozy and beautiful. The serving staff was excellent, and I felt like a queen - my husband and I were served first to make sure we ate, and anything we or the guests needed was there in seconds. I had specific instructions about when to have the passed champagne service and thanks to our day-of coordinator, it went off flawlessly. All of the food, from the appetizers to the buffet, was delicious. There's nothing negative to say about them!

Calamigos Ranch was a beautiful place for our wedding. It gave us the best of both worlds...an outdoor wedding and an indoor reception. They had many different sites for the ceremony and reception. The staff was knowledgeable and they were flexible when we wanted to have an outdoor jazz band. Our pictures came out great because of the romantic setting they provided. We got everything we wanted out of this venue and stayed within our budget.

Calamigos was great. They provide everything but DJ, photographer, cake, and officiant. Their staff is very friendly and very responsive. You are required to have a day of coordinator, which I would recommend regardless. I'm so happy that this is where I got married and I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing to know going in is that they only do food tastings two or three times a year, and you really only try the upgraded menu, not the standard one. Have no fear though, all of the food is delicious.

When we first looked at Calamigos Ranch - we stopped our search right there. In fact, Calamigos was the only place we looked at! I knew that I didn't need to look anywhere else because the ranch had encompassed everything I was looking for. Everything from its natural beauty to the sounds of streaming waterfalls to the smell of that crisp Malibu air. It really does hit all of the senses.

Samantha was assigned to us as our rep and I could always count on her to get back to me as soon as she could. I tried really hard to not be a "needy" bride but as I only had a day-of-coordinator, I found myself asking question after question, and each and every time she was patient and thorough!

The food was incredible. They set up a super fun tasting during which you can taste some of the menu options. This really helped narrow down our choices. Not only was the food amazing but they were so accommodating with some of our guests' extreme dietary restrictions. For example, 2 of my husband's cousins are on a very strict Kosher diet and Calamigos more than accommodated for this - along with my poor dad who is allergic to dairy, gluten, seeds AND doesn't eat meat! Everything was an amazing experience: the first walkthrough, the tasting, the final meetings, and course, the day of!

The only reason I didn't give them a perfect 5 stars is because of the price. I understand that they have to keep competitive with costs, and I also understand the value for what you're getting. But that doesn't take away from the fact that this place is EXPENSIVE. I mean, REALLY expensive. Like, unless you're a millionaire, expect to put off the whole "buying a place together" thing. That's what we had to do. And we had modest choices without most of the upgrades.

But above all, it was a lot of money... but for us, it was worth the money!

The most magical place! It was everything i imagined and my wedding was perfect!

We just got married at the Garden Patio location and the whole night was magical! The night was flawless and the service was excellent. We got tons of compliments on the food and were told by several guest that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. We worked with Samantha and she was very professional and helped make the night run perfect. They always knew who I was when I called with questions over the months of planning without me having to say. The venue was beautiful with twinkling lights and gorgeous gardens so our wedding photos turned out excellent. I really cant say enough how happy we were. The only thing I wished was we could have extended the party time later then 11:30 because we were having so much fun we didnt want it to end! Thank you for helping us plan our dream wedding. We will never forget it!

One of the most magical gems in Malibu. The grounds are spectacular and breathtaking! The staff was just amazing to work with, always professional and courteous.

I had my wedding on Oct. 2, 2011 at Calamigos Ranch and it was everything I ever dreamed of and more! The location is absolutely gorgeous and it is so pretty from the moment you drive in! Even the drive to the venue is nice because the road cuts through the Santa Monica mountains and the venue is very private and secluded. It is near a couple of different wineries. We had our ceremony and reception at The Oaks. There is a peaceful waterfall behind the alter and the whole patio area is surrounded by oak trees. After the ceremony, our guests were allowed down to the meadows (a large open grassy area below the ceremony deck) and this is where we had our cocktail hour. We went with 4 different tray passed hors d'oeuvres. I only got a chance to try the stuffed button mushroom caps and they were delicious! For the dinner reception, we went with buffet and chose the prime rib and salmon entrees. They were OUTSTANDING and the catering manager took great care of me and my husband. They made us a plate and we actually got a chance to sit down and eat for a little bit! My only negative is that Samantha was our day-of coordinator and I think she must have been new. We had been working with a lady named Claudia throughout the planning, and she was awesome, but she ended up moving to a sister venue about a week before our wedding. This was unfortunate. Samantha almost had me walk down the aisle right after the flower girl and ring boy and my music hadn't even started playing yet. She was also suppose to help me fix my dress before I walked, but I had to remind her. Also, before the ceremony, when all of my vendors were arriving to set up, no one knew were Samantha was and we needed her help to direct everyone! Other than that, the event was amazing and the whole wedding went very smoothly. Many of our friends and family said it was MAGICAL, and it was! Calamigos Ranch was the perfect location for an outdoor ceremony/ indoor reception!

Lastly, although it is a gorgeous place for a wedding, it is definitely pricey $$$$!!!

We got married in the Main Dining Room and could not be happier with the overall experience. We have had so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful and magical our big day was. From the waterfalls and twinkle lights dangling from the weeping willows outside to the waterfall room, it is truely a one of a kind venue. Calamigos has so many opportunities for photo ops. Although we were a little nervous with not being able to taste the food, it was all amazing: both the appetizers and the main course. Calamigos is a little pricey compared to other venues, but I think it is completely worth it. Enjoy your day because it goes by so quickly!

Calamigos is absolutely the best! Calamigos was the first venue we went to see, and all other places paled in comparison. Our wedding took place at The Cottage (ceremony) and The Pavilion (reception). The grounds are so beautiful, we have such amazing pictures. In fact, our wedding was featured on a popular blog and in the Fall/Winter issue of Brides Southern California magazine. I really attribute it to such a beautiful setting and an amazing photographer (Jenny Liu).

After reading some other reviews, I was a little worried about the staff and not being able to taste the food before (that might have changed now since they opened the restaurant). But I have to say, I found everyone at Calamigos to be very accommodating and friendly. Erin was so great to work with! She was with us through the process from the beginning to end. She is good at what she does, she is funny and she really works with you. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

The food was great! We opted for the buffet as it offered guests more options, and it was elegant and delicious! We heard so many positive comments about the food. We went with the Pecan Crusted Chicken, which I heard was excellent (I don't eat meat, but I trust the sources, ha ha). The veggies were so good, and the pasta bar added an extra flair.

Although it might seem like a lot to invest, you really get a lot with Calamigos. I loved not having to worry about rentals and catering. And having the Ceremony and Reception all in one place was convenient for everyone (guests, vendors, and wedding party). Vendors, if they have been in business for any length of time in LA, are usually familiar with Calamigos, which makes it easier.

I absolutely loved having our wedding at Calamigos. We got married at "The Cottage" which happened to be the only venue available on my date, as well as being my favorite. While it rained on my wedding day, I had fallen in love with the venue for the ceremony site, not the reception site, and they did everything they could to make it work in the rain, including bringing out large umbrella's etc, getting towels to wipe down the seats for my guests, etc.

They were a pleasure to work with, were always available to answer questions on the phone or meet in person and really helped us plan a smooth event. We were upset to hear that they didn't do food tastings, but it didn't matter - all the food was wonderful and we were very happy with our choices.

We didn't have a wedding planner of our own, and I had organized a lot of extra things, and they really helped us to get everything ready.

The only negative was that they did lose our guest book and on the night of the event, they were coming up to me asking me what it looked like, where I had left it, etc (it had been dropped off to their offices with everything else 3 days before). While we didn't get anyone to fill it out and never got it replaced, which is a little upsetting, they did reimburse us for the costs of the book after the event was over, which was all they can do at the time. My one tip - when you drop off your stuff at your rehearsal, clearly mark the boxes, and put bride/groom's names and box 1 of 4, box 2 of 4, etc. (They do store all items for all weddings in the same room and we think our stuff just got mixed up with someone elses).

Overall everything went so smoothly and I definitely recommend them - however, please check to ensure they don't have another event at the same site on the same day. They did at ours and they ran late getting it taken down and getting ours set up. It all worked out okay, but there were no signs up for our event directing early guests and vendors where to go on their huge grounds.

If I could do it all over again I would...it was absolutely beautiful!

Calamigos Ranch is such a treasure. We were there for a wedding, and everything was wonderful. The rooms, which look like rustic cabins from the outside are actually beautiful, modern hotel rooms that feel more like suites. There were complimentary drinks and snacks and a bottle of wine, which was so nice at the end of a long day of travel.

The entire staff - from the front desk, to the valets and bartenders - were very personable, friendly and polite.

Would recommend Calamigos Ranch to anyone looking for an awesome getaway!

My sister and her new husband got married here. I came from the midwest so it was cool to be in Malibu. I felt like I was in a movie.

From the very beginning till the end, Calamigos Ranch exceeded my expectation! This Venue is really the best decision I’ve made. My wedding was everything I dreamed of and more! My guests love the venue, they loved everything about the wedding, the food and the ambiance. I had a tree house wedding at The Birchwood room and it was really magical. Don’t think twice and just give it a go, you will never regret it. Happy bride and groom here!

Calamigos was a gorgeous wedding venue. The staff there was very professional, and for an absent minded person such as myself, their reminder emails were extremely helpful to make sure things were done in a timely fashion. The food they provide is DELICIOUS. My guests raved that this was the best wedding food that they had ever had. Beautiful!

Calamigos is such a beautiful venue with a truly unique feel to it. We booked Calamigos about 2 years in advance. They have 4 sites to choose from, MAN, was that hard. We decided to go with the Cottage Pavillion since we were getting married in August. It's already so beautiful that it needs very minimal decor. It's pricy, but it includes tables, chairs, linens, catering, china, set up, breakdown, ALCOHOL, that it was worth it. Our main contact was Nicole, she was GREAT. She was so friendly, always made sure I understood everything, and was very responsive. Everyone kept saying what a beautiful venue it was, and that it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to. Just make sure before you book you understand what you can/cant do. or can/cant bring as there isnt much wiggle room. Overall, I LOVED CALAMIGOS. Thank you for making me feel special in a sea of brides. I'm so glad we could start our life at such a beautiful place.

Calamigos provided us and our guests with a magical wedding. Several people described our ceremony and reception site as "something out of Avatar". The site was perfect for the romantic, outdoor ranch style wedding that we had envisioned. We would actually go to Calamigos just for brunch, at Malibu Café, several times before we got married. It was such an impressive property.

The staff is very organized and kind. I think our only disappointment was that we couldn't extend our wedding longer than 5.5 hours and for the amount of money we paid we couldn't get a bit fancier on our bar drinks other than the standard premium bar items. Other than this we were really happy with Calamigos.

We got married at The Garden Patio and had the reception in the main dining room, 2 weeks ago. I'm still amazed with how abaolutely amazing it turned out. I can't tell you how many of our friends that came to us and said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they've ever been to, and I largely credit the venue for that.

The place is magical. Simply put. From the moment we saw the place, you feel like you're walking in some enchanted place. Waterfalls, trees, lights everwhere, HUGE venue with so many great photo opportunities. The place is amazing.

We were originally looking at doing Calamigos in Burbank, and while also a great venue, I am so glad we went with Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, even though it was a bit farther for us. SO worth it. And not gonna lie, it wasn't the cheapest of venues we looked at, but I don't regret it at all.

Erin Bagasson was our contact through out all the planning and was really helpful. I was a little surprised when we were there during the rehearsal and all of a sudden found we had a different coordinator, but she was great too (can't remember her name).

The wedding went great, the food was SO YUMMY - even though we barely ate any of it because we were going around all the tables. The food staff was so nice and accommodating and prompt. The place was just perfect. Would highly recommend.

If you are looking to have a picture perfect wedding, Calamigos is it! I knew my special day was going to be beautiful but it turned out to be magical.
The people at Calamigos were great to work with, special Maria. It was a bit of a shock that we couldn't taste the food prior to the event, but come to find out the day of the even that the food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend you go see Calamigos before you make any plans for your wedding. Everything turned out to be perfect.

Absoulutly perfect! Just off of the Beach of Malibu, resting in the beautiful trees is Calamigos Ranch. Surrounded by waterfalls, pathways, and lush greenery. This was a our DREAM wedding. The services where all included and I have to say that I didnt' find out about anything going wrong.......the people at Calamigos made sure that my husband, and I and OUR guests where taken care of before and the day of the wedding. Anything we needed....grab the bouquet> They where on it!! and Such good food!! The appetizers, especially the crispy ravioli, was so tasty and all of our guest kept raving about their meals..... such a pleasant experience and compared to the prices around the Los Angeles County area, a much better deal as well.

Calamigos Ranch was an incredible venue for our big day! You could not have asked for better service, food and surroundings. Every member of the staff was first class! The only negative was on our overnight accomodations.
The cabins and cottages are described as rustic, however, it was our experience that they were in need of renovations.
Some of our wedding guests were able to stay at The Four Seasons Hotel for the same price, so it would seem that for accomodations you can fare better elsewhere.

We had a wonderful wonderful experience with Calamigos! They answered all of our questions clearly and promptly. They worked with us to incorporate our traditions into our wedding ceremony and reception. They swiftly corrected any minor problems that arose without disrupting my and my family's time during the wedding. Our wedding was truly the best day our of lives!

I love the one price deal. They are very straight forward. They provide a personal coordinator on the day of your wedding to help everything run smoothly. My coordinator had to keep an eye out for my florist who showed up almost two hours late and to the wrong location, dropped all the flowers and left. They took it upon themselves, to document that the flowers arrived late and took pictures so I would have evidence so I wouldn't have to pay. They also went to another wedding being held at the same time and asked their florist to help out (see review for Floral Fields). This was awesome and above and beyond. The food was amazing and the location is just beyond beautiful. I have met several brides who had weddings there, and all have said the same thing. It was truly a fairytale wedding if you want to get married outside a church.

i am and was VERY pleased with calamigos from the start. everyone there was SO helpful and SOOO friendly. all of my guests LOVED the scenery & the kindness of the staff. i HIGHLY recommend calamigos ranch.

Calamigos Ranch is amazing. The venue is beautiful, the people are accomodating, and they take care of everything. This place is well worth the price. The food was delicious, and the head waiter never stopped making sure we (the bride and groom) were taken care of. We were able to relax and not worry about a thing. We would definitely reccommend this place to anyone looking for a wedding site. AWESOME!!!

My perfect place! It is in the hills of Malibu and when you enter it is like you are being transported to somewhere completelt different! There are several different places on the property to get married, but I chose The Oaks. The venue makes gorgeous photos and is very private for you and your guests!

This is a very gorgeous location! For the base price you get all the basic items you will need for a wedding. Definitely a nice one stop shop. I have so much compliment regarding the food and service they provided. Definitely an A++++ venue.

I just got married at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu on February 28, 2015 at the Redwood Room. Although the months and weeks leading up to the wedding were (predictably) stressful, I cannot say enough how great the staff was there. In particular, Cindy Liang - she was our point of contact and handled our probably endless stream of questions with such grace and patience! And when we had to sit down with her the day before our wedding to discuss a back-up plan due to rain...she was so sweet and nice even though I was increasingly panicked and manic! Of course we got completely lucky because it did not rain and instead was beautiful!

When it comes to the cost, my recommendation is to be mindful that what you're booking initially is the space. Really, that's all you need because it is so naturally lovely and beautiful. But things like chiavari chairs, drapes, lighting -- those are all upgrades and the costs can go up without notice (again, because all you're signing the contract for initially is the cost to rent the space). I repeat this because sometimes in the whirlwind of planning, you may tend to overlook things like that and before you know it you've blown your budget by tens of thousands!

At the end of the day though, our wedding was worth every dime. The patience and grace of the staff (Cindy and Nicole), how all our guests loved the space and raved over its natural beauty, and how tasty the food was -- it really was magical! I can't thank Calamigos enough!

I knew from the moment I saw a picture of Calamigos that I wanted my wedding there. It is just beautiful! My location was The Secret Garden/Ranch House which is the smallest venue. Calamigos definitely is not the cheapest option but the service that you get is well worth it. And i have to say that even with a pretty tight budget you can have your wedding here if you can limit your guest list and shop around for vendors. It was so easy knowing that most of the work was taken care of and I only needed to work with a select few vendors. The food was delicious, the staff worked very hard all night and the location is perfect.
