Beautiful venue, great to work with

Calamigos Los Angeles saved our wedding. After our original venue shut down we were able to switch to Calamigos. The food was fantastic and they were able to accommodate vegan, dairy free and gluten free diets. They worked with us to help hit the minimum spending when we had fewer guests than their minimum. They were quick to respond to questions. I would highly recommend them.

    Amazing Venue!

On 08/21/2021, I performed for a wedding at Calamigos Los Angeles (I'm a wedding DJ/MC). It was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I've had working with a venue all year. Their staff was friendly, punctual, and well in tune with what the couple had envisioned for their wedding. Austin (the manager that night) was awesome to work with, and based on what I saw, I'd expect the same level of professionalism from the rest of Calamigos' team as well. The venue itself is gorgeous, and it has the perfect layout for a full wedding (separate, but adjacent sites for Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception). The couple I worked with used one of the outdoor spaces for a traditional Hindu Ceremony in the morning, and they used one of the indoor ballrooms for an American Reception in the evening (they were extremely happy about how their wedding went). I'd gladly work with Calamigos Los Angeles and their staff again, and I highly recommend them to any couple in need of an amazing wedding venue!

    Venue Viewing

Went to view Calamigos Equestrian for a possible venue for our wedding and was welcomed by Michael and shown the large property with great information and professionalism. All of the ceremony sites were beautiful and the ballrooms were clean and great locations for a reception. Michael allowed us to take our time looking at pictures of different weddings at each location. He broken down the pricing for us nicely and made it easy to understand. He answered all of our questions and left us feeling like this could be the place for us. In less than 24 hour we decided that Calamigos Equestrian was definitely the place for our big day and called him to book our date!!

    Amazing and very professional

My daughter was suppose to get married at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu 11 18 18 and was told 111 17 18 it was not going to happen due to the roads closed due to the fires. They were so so so great at setting us up in Burbank and the staff, food. Coordinator (Kat ) and Cindy were all amazing and i would. Definately come back and recommend to anyone. Thank you all at both Calamigos. The Delgadillo's/Garza's

    Absolutely Amazing

My daughter was suppose to get married 11-18-18 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. On 11-17-18 we were told we could not due to road closures due to the fires. We had to contact 150 guests the day before and Garrett, son of owner of Calamigos in Malibu and his father and wonderful staff relocated us to The Equestrian in Burbank. Every staff member was amazing and very professional. The food, the decor and our coordinator (Kat) were amazing. Would i go back or refer to either location absoulutely. She didnt have her first dream in Malibu but this was pretty close and hope to capture photos up there she didn't get but we are soooo thankful for all they did. They for sure are a class act.

Calamigos Equestrian was an amazing wedding venue (married March 2017)! My husband and I were blown away by how beautiful our wedding ceremony was in the Equestrian Terrace with all of the flowers and greenery that are part of the venue. The Equestrian Ballroom was the perfect size for our 200+ guests. From planning to the wedding day itself, the staff was professional and such a pleasure to work with.

The food is amazing!!! The tasting event was a fun way to choose what appetizers and entrees to have at the wedding. We also got some other ideas from the event, including a cappuccino bar and chocolate fountain, both of which were a huge success! The catering service and food along with the open bar was incredible and impressed all of our guests.

The vendors that the venue recommended were all fabulous. We loved our cake from Portos, which looked beautiful and tasted delicious. My Wedding Blooms Flowers by Kerim were stunning and blew everyone away! Bruce made the most gorgeous seating arrangement sign that was so much better and creative than I originally envisioned.

We were SO happy with Calamigos and recommend this venue to anyone who wants a beautiful wedding with amazing food and great service! We can’t recommend this venue highly enough!

We got married here in early October. The quick summary: Everything went off without a hitch and we would highly recommend Calamigos Equestrian for anyone else looking for a wedding venue.

Our main point of contact at the beginning was David - he gave us the run down of all of the different wedding areas available and the packages they offered. After some discussion and time to think over our options, we ended up going with the Grand Prix Ballroom and Terrace for our reception and ceremony.

David and Kathy (the Operations Manager) were both very easy to work with. We kept waiting for some of the "nightmares" that we had heard other couples had with their venues - promises not being kept, poor communication, terms being changed, any of that. But none of that ever came up with Calamigos. They were always prompt with answering our ridiculous questions and were very on top of their game.

The tasting event they held of us to help us choose our food options was a very pleasant surprise. We had our fill of a good selection of their catering menu, and some of the special add-ons (donut bar, candy bar, etc.) were also set up for us to try out. We actually ended up using the donut bar at our wedding because of this. We ended up choosing the prime rib as our main entree and were not disappointed - it was as good on the wedding day as it was at the tasting.

The ceremony and reception went off perfectly the day-of. Our guests were all very pleased with the food and the service, and quite a few of them were also surprised as how nice the venue turned out to be (They kept expecting it to be like a ranch/farm because of the name.)

Here are the main reasons we ended up choosing Calamigos for our venue:
    - Free and easy parking (hard to find in LA)
    - Good food
    - Any and all food has to go through Calamigos. Some might find this disadvantageous, but we didn't want to have to deal with finding a caterer and making sure they had everything they needed to get set up at a

This place is truly BEAUTIFUL. It's this lovely green oasis in a fairly industrial/commercialized neighborhood. Mike was very kind and accommodating. I couldn't believe how low the package costs were - - seriously it is one of the best values I came across in my (very thorough) venue search. We ended up booking elsewhere because we had to stick to a specific date and my fiancee is weird about not liking horses :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We had our ceremony at the equestrian terrace, and our reception in the adjoining ballroom. The food was FANTASTIC. The whole day was beautiful. Our banquet captain made sure the night ran flawlessly. We had a plated meal with some food allergies, and there wasn't one issue with any of it! Everyone was taken care of wonderfully. Michael, Kathy and David were also great during the planning process. They were available and attentive to our every need leading up to wedding day. You can't go wrong with this venue!

Calamigos Equestrian was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the beginning, they were the perfect mix of friendly and professional. After deciding on The Little White House for our ceremony and the Polo Room for our reception, Calamigos was very responsive to all of our questions and requests. We returned for their open house to show relatives the space, and then again for the menu sampling, where everything was delicious (make sure to come very hungry!!) We loved the Little White House and courtyard for our ceremony and the house's AC was so nice, as well as the water and mister fans they provided for all of our guests outside. Our reception was flawless. We had a sweetheart table with a great, dedicated server, and feedback from our guests was that their tables were also attended to incredibly well. Overall, I highly recommend Calamigos Equestrian to anyone looking for a quiet, private, awesome wedding just outside of downtown LA!

The food was excellent, the venue beautiful, the staff attentive, but the one thing that really stuck out for us was the professionalism and attentiveness of our appointed coordinator STEVE! Steven was amazing. I can not say enough good things about him. He is so good at what he does. If you can, make sure you get him as your coordinator. Abigail was also extremely wonderful and deserves a special mention. Thank you to everyone at Calamigos who made our day what it was.

There are not enough words to express our sincere gratitude for Calamigos Equestrian and their staff. This vendor is not just a vendor but a part of our lives, and working with them was a complete pleasure. Abigail, Mike, David, and Steven all played their roles helping us get situated and went above and beyond on multiple occasions. We are very grateful to Calamigos Equestrian and they definitely earned our trust and respect. Thank you staff for your patience and helping us navigate the wedding path. We loved the The Little White House, the roaming horses, and the beautiful Polo Room. All of our guests raved to your attentiveness during the reception and Steven's attention to detail. Great Job!!!

From the moment we met Brianna at Calamigos Equestrian for a walk through, I was in love with the place and the people who worked there. As an equestrian, the setting was perfect for my wedding- I was in heaven. The Little White House was the perfect size for my guests (180), and beautifully shaded from the summer sun at a 5:30pm ceremony. The reception started with cocktails on the Equestrian Terrace and moved into the Equestrian Ballroom for dancing the night away. Cocktail Hour was flawlessly executed- the bars were set up well to allow for a good flow of people, the food was beautiful and delicious, and the servers were attentive.
The ballroom was set up perfectly- the tables were exquisite and well spread out. I love that we could set up lounge furniture in the back for guests to sit on- people didn't have to just sit at their tables, they were free to move around and sit where they please when they weren't dancing.
The staff is wonderful to work with- Abigail is throrough and thoughtful. Stephen took care of my every need during the reception. This team is top notch! I recommend this gorgeous setting to anyone!

My husband and I fell in love with Calamigos at first glance. We really liked the idea of everything happening in one spot and knew this was the place for us. The staff was professional from first meeting all the way until the end of the reception. The food was fantastic and we received many compliments on the food. Our reception was held in the Polo Room which has a large size bar with outside patio area. Before we were announced to our guests we were given a few moments to ourselves with appetizers and drinks since we were not a part of our cocktail hour. During the reception my husband and I were continually asked if everything was ok and the staff got us whatever we needed. I knew I would never get any time to get to our lovely desert table and the staff gathered some in a box to go back to the hotel...amazing! We were married at the Little White House..great setting. We could not have asked for a better day!

Everyone was so complimentary from the bar service, food, and gorgeous decor - people even said it was some of the best food they had ever eaten! I cannot recommend this venue enough.

Calamigos is a Beautiful venue, it is a jewel hidden in Burbank. All our guests loved the venue and the atmosphere. Everyone who works there is so nice and a pleasure to work with. The day of our wedding the banquet manager was so attentive and made sure everything went smooth and made sure we were happy every step of the way. The food there is delicious, both of us and our guests were so pleased with the quality and taste of the food.

My husband and I knew from the minute we toured the facility that Calamigos was the place we were going to have our reception because it just felt like home, and that was important to us because we wanted our guests and ourselves to be 100% taken care of, to relax, to enjoy and then dance the night away in celebration of the special day. They have beautiful venue options with three different rooms to choose from (our wedding was in the Equestrian Ballroom which was romantic, elegant, timeless and with a rocking dance floor), killer service, quality food and everything is included ranging from your food, to linens, to plates to cups to staff, food tastings, clean up/take down, bartenders/the cake and more (although bear in mind the cake that is included in basic in shape/size because of the arrangement they have with Porto’s Bakery, so if you want a more fancy design(which we did) than you will be paying extra for it), and warm and talented staff to help you every step of the way.
The services are not inexpensive, however if you are a bride and/or groom that care about quality, want people who will help you with everything before and during the wedding, and want for you and your guests to be treated like royalty, then cut your budget in other places that you can, and invest with Calamigo’s. Lastly, a couple staff we would also like to recommend being in contact with are Virginia and David, they were super sweet and helpful, especially when we had to change our wedding date up 6 months due to our Church closing, and we will forever be grateful at how accommodating Calamigo’s was able to be when we went through that particular crisis. So, all in all, 10 out of 10 on service, class and overall experience and we couldn’t have imagined our wedding being anywhere else!

I used the Equestrian Terrance & Equestrian Ballroom for my October wedding. Everything was beautiful, and perfect. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family, as a matter of fact after the weding we had a couple of our family members ask us to pass on the info because they LOVED the venue. I had my reception here in the Polo room. I know I picked the perfect place to have my reception. The food was amazing and the place was beautiful. People kept telling me how much they enjoyed the food. Everything was on time, they never ran late. The servers were amazing as well. The front office was awesome. They are always patient and always there to answer your questions or help you in any way they can. I had a candy bar at my wedding and they handled everything. Every type of candy I asked for I received in a beautiful display. I loved every part of it. They do an amazing job. If you want great food, great people, and a beautiful location for you reception (or ceremony they do both!) go with Calamigos at the LA equestrian.

It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for the place I decided to have my wedding. Although this place was a bit pricey and more expensive than the Universal Hilton (which was the other wedding venue our family considered due to access of Chinese food and location), we sealed the deal at this venue due to their supreme customer service and all around comfort and décor of the venue.

When I first saw this venue, I was a little turned off since the outside part before you drive in didn’t seem that modern looking so I was expecting to tell my fiancé that I do not want to have my wedding here. Long story short, as I was shown the other parts of the venue, I fell in love with its simple elegance. The Polo Room has such a romantic sweet feel to it and the ceremony spot The Little White House is simply adorable. Inside the house where we can get ready before the wedding is very classy. This place grows on you fast.

Furthermore, Virgina who handles the wedding operations was such a pleasure to work with and David was so kind to let us peek into our rooms and the Little White House every time I desired to stop without an appointment. On the day of the wedding, the food was delicious and all the staff are super professional. I actually ate all my food on my wedding day!!! The cake from Portos is another bonus! You get to choose and design your own cake like I did.

If you are looking for a unique venue in Burbank area, I highly recommend this place. We had about 145 guests only one of them said that they came to this venue before for a picnic. I also hired Virginia as o

I was beyond pleased with Calamigos! First off, the people working there have such awesome communication. You can go in and ask anyone a question. They know exactly who you are, the date of your wedding, and your most frequent requests. All of their wedding facilities are beautiful!! I happened to choose the Equestrian Terrace and Ballroom. I had my dream wedding in front of a waterfall and loved it! It was a nice, simple, and intimate wedding. The reception was just as gorgeous. Chivari chairs are provided as a part of the overall price which I loved since I know it costs extra to rent those chairs at other sites. The ballroom is elegant that I felt like I did not have to do much to it. A 3 hour open bar was more enough for my guests and everyone had a wonderful time! Almost forgot, the food was actually pretty good for a wedding! I actually wish I had a little doggy bag to take home with me since I did not get a chance to finish. I can not say how happy I was with Calamigos! I can not wait to attend another wedding there! Thanks Calamigos!!

The Calamigos Equestrian is a beautiful venue! Not to get confused with the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, but this is a quaint and adorable venue located in Burbank. They have several beautiful wedding ceremony and reception venues and is the perfect backdrop for anyone looking for a classic, elegant, and even rustic type of venue.

The Equestrian Ballroom is their biggest ballroom that can fit up to about 225 people and is gorgeous, with window to floor ceilings, chandeliers, and a bridal suite and restrooms that are all very close by and easily accessible. The food is also really great as is the staff, who are very attentive and detail-oriented. It makes wedding planning so easy and smooth. As a wedding planner this is one of the main things we look for in venues, a staff that is attentive, quick to response, and very thorough.
Great venue, I highly recommend it for your next wedding or event!

Having our wedding here was the best decision we made. The venue is beautiful on its own and we needed very few decorations besides flowers. The food is amazing--some of our guests said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had and were scraping it off of their plates. The staff is great and easy to work with. Overall it was a great experience having our wedding here!

The Calamigos Equestrian Center does it all! We used the area with the Little White House for the ceremony for a gorgeous outdoor wedding. While my daughter, the bride, was getting ready, the venue supplied us with champagne, cheese and crackers, and iced water...The Little White House is air conditioned. By 6:00 pm the ceremony site is all shaded over by lovely large trees and guests are comfortable...even in the heat of August. Then, onto the outside of the Grand Ballroom where we had appetizers and drinks. The area is shaded and beautiful. The air conditioned Grand Ballroom easily accommodated our 250 guests and the dance floor was BIG (one of our requirements). The service was amazing. They attend to EVERY detail. The food was delicious. I was impressed that all the guests enjoyed their meals. They were served quickly and the food was hot. It is a perfect venue for a wedding and I highly recommend it. We looked at a LOT of places before we chose...and I am happy to say, "We chose the right place".

Our wedding took place in the Polo Room. Our wedding went on without a hitch! The staff at Calamigos was absolutely outstanding. From Deirdre, David, Virginia, and Steven, they were all amazing and took care of us. The food is top notch! We are still receiving complements. They answered all of our questions and helped us solve any issues we had. Tables, chairs, linen, dinnerware, all included. Even the cake is included through Portos Bakery. You can add bar, appetizers, candy bar, etc.. with different packages, and/or mix and match. We loved this place.

Everything about working with Calamigos was professional and pleasant. From the moment we emailed, all the way through the time we drove away, Calamigos was fantastic. Our first meeting was on New Year's Day, and not only did we fall in love with the natural beauty of the land, but we also were so happy with Virginia. It was encouraging to meet someone so sincere and understanding. We really appreciated how she listened so closely to what we wanted, and she ended up saving the day with her vendor referrals. The day of our wedding, everything was perfect, and the dinner was exceptional! Our guests are still raving about the Polo Room and how DELICIOUS the food tasted. Steven the supervisor and his staff were unbelievable. We were all treated like royalty, and they executed everything with grace and ease. We honestly could not have asked for more. Calamigos is an incredible venue with wonderful people. We are more than happy that we celebrated our special day with them.

We used Calamigos for our reception only because we had our wedding ceremony at a church. We had a really lovely experience with Calamigos. From beginning to end everyone was personable, smart, very responsive and very, very organized. We loved having Deirdre to answer our questions and help us get all the information so we could make our decision about choosing Calamigos. We were very appreciative of Virginia and all she did to keep everything organized and wonderful. She really, really worked hard for us! In fact, on the day of the wedding she helped make sure my mother's homemade flower arrangements and little trees with white lights got placed when my mother couldn't make it to the reception to set up before the ceremony! Mina was also really responsive and amazing. She's in charge and you could tell she just wanted us to have the perfect wedding experience! The space was absolutely gorgeous, the food was just delicious, the alcohol choices and quality for the price was awesome and we loved having Porto's for our cake baker! In one space we had everything we wanted with a much better price than most - and believe me, we looked long and hard before picking a place that would be venue, food, alcohol and cake baker all in one!

So happy with our wedding at Calamigos. From the very start they were professional and helpful. We worked mainly with Virginia, and she was a pleasure to work with. Very prompt responses to any questions, and went out of her way to make it an amazing day/night for us. The venue was beautiful (Little White House/Polo Room) and looked spectacular the day of. We got a lot of compliments for the venue choice, and the food was also outstanding. Love that they let us do a tasting prior to the event, and they even made that a fun party for the couples getting married there within the upcoming months. Highly recommend!

Calamigos Equestrian was a little out of our Budget BUT ALL worth every penny!!! Fortunately, we were able to get a discount because we had a Weekday (Tuesday) Wedding , which helped tremendously considering we wanted to stick to our Wedding Budget. We were able to have the "complete package" with Calamigos Equestrian.....our Beautiful Ceremony & Breath-taking Reception was all on the same property, our delicious food was catered through Calamigos, as well as our Cake, which was contracted through the exceptional Portos Bakery. From the beginning when we booked, until the Day of our Wedding- ALL STAFF were on the same page. Truly making our wedding planning process as simple and organized as can be. Very prompt if we had questions/or concerns and easy going. Even when we would call unannounced, and wanted to stop by and show the property off to family. :) They did not mind and always had an open welcome when we arrived. A gorgeous site to have BOTH your ceremony and reception. We were married outside at the "Little White House" and had our reception in the "Grand Prix Room".....with all our decor in place it was a very stunning and dazzling place. The day was truly magical. The Day of the Wedding, everything was GREAT! The staff who hosted the food (we chose Buffet), offered wine to guests, and bartender all were very friendly and respectful to our guests. Fernando was a gem the day of the wedding. Fernando took initiative and made sure our day ran smoothly and looked out for our best interests-making our special day a breeze. We would highly recommend Calamigos Equestrian to anyone looking for a unique and memorable Wedding Experience. :)

We had been looking all over for locations. Racking our brains trying to find some place that fit us and also was comfortable with a gay wedding. From the beginning we could not have felt more at ease. The planning, the payment plan, the food tasting and just being able to take care of things for us so we didn't have to worry was perfect for us. They have a couple different size rooms to accommodate different size groups. They can do do a package including food, wedding cake from Portos Bakery which is AWESOME, bar and most importantly for us, they work with you and not against you. Our guest count changed up and down a few times and they didn't flinch. Just said okay and went with it. They were also a big help in finding reputable vendors for options we had not been able to find on our own.

We were very pleased with our experience at Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank. Our wedding ceremony and reception were perfect! Virginia (wedding coordinator) is awesome and was always available to help us out when we needed her. The banquet captain (I believe his name was Steven) was on top of his game making sure we and all of our guests were satisfied. All of the servers were polite and hospitable. The food was INCREDIBLE! Our guests commented on how it was some of the best wedding food they had ever eaten!

Everything was in immaculate condition from the ceremony site (The Little White House) to the reception room (The Polo Room). While Calamigos is expensive in my opinion, it was definitely worth every penny. We made use of their chocolate fountain which was a big hit with the guests. We also had them set up a candy buffet for our guests as their wedding favor. Everyone loved it! The mountainous and equestrian backdrop for our wedding was so gorgeous which made for great pictures and awesome memories. Another plus, easy and free parking for your guests!

We are so happy that we chose Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank to host our wedding!

FYI....the food tasting was so much fun and you get to sample a wide array of the food that they offer. Yummy good time!

Seriously, from the word "go" (or even the words "think about it"), this was an amazing venue to work with. The professionalism shown by Annah Winfield and her staff (she's actually not the top lady, whom I met and whose name I can't remember--most of the correspondence was with Annah) met (and at times exceeded) my expectations. And, that's not that easy to do, especially in this situation where I wanted everything as perfect as humanly possible. After reading some reviews I asked Annah pointed questions, and she was always gracious in her reply, and made sure that all of my concerns were addressed. The indoor/setting (the greens!) was perfect for us, and the size of the Polo Room was perfect for our 110 guests and us...the food (internal catering) was superb (so many people commented on it after the wedding), and ... I just can imagine having held our reception anywhere else. And I'm so glad we didn't. Annah worked with all of my vendors to make a seamless event; my wedding day was everything I could have wanted, and Calamigos had a huge hand in that.

This is the absolute best location for a wedding!! They have beautiful gardens for ceremony and the ballrooms are perfect for reception. We had our ceremony at the little white house and our reception in the equestrian ballroom. The service calamigos provided went above and beyond all my expectations from the moment we booked our event there until we got in the limo at the end of reception. Anna is a godsend. She worked with me on every little detail and was always incrediable attentive, in fact all the staff was. The event went very smoothly. The food was unbealivable, the wedding was two weeks ago and I still have guests telling me how great the food was and that it was the best and most beautiful wedding they have ever been too. I would highly recommand calamigos at the equestrain center. They helped make our wedding day the most memorable day of our lives!!!

Calamigos was perfect for my daughter's wedding on Mother's Day; outdoors at the White House and reception in the Polo Room. The staff were very accommodating, professional, and I was very pleased with all meetings before and up to the wedding. We used vendors that were familiar with the location and some were suggested by the wedding specialist there. I think the most compliments came from guests and family regarding the food; it was delicious, from the appetizers to our buffet dinner and plenty of it....you never had to track down a server at the reception....they were always passing out food!
I can't imagine using another facility that had everything we needed and my daughter and her husband were very pleased with it all.

When my husband and I started researching venues to hold our wedding reception we left no leaf unturned. We live in Glendale so we were primarily looking in the Glendale, Pasadena, and Burbank area. Our guestlist was 200 and we were on a budget of $20,000 for food, drinks, and room rentals (including linens, chairs, tablecloths, placesettings, drinkware, etc). We really had a vision of being able to have an open bar, a cocktail hour with hand passed appetizers and a delicious plated meal. We had a good budget to work with so we were able to include a lot of sites in our search. We wanted a site that had an all inclusive package, a beautiful room preferably with a fireplace, a great dance floor, exquisite decor, great catering, and professional staff. Calamigos was the only place that had this all and more. The grounds of the equestrian center are goregeous and nothing was off limits for pictures. We have so many great pictures with beautiful backdrops. Every one who works with you on your wedding will be professional, responbile and they all work to make you happy. Our wedding was fantastic, everything I had dreamed. We took a moment to sneak a look at the room before guests arrived (I highly recommend this!) and we our breath was taken away. From the candles glowing in the fireplace (woodburning for those fall/winter weddings) to the sconces, three gorgeous chandeliers and twinkle lights everywhere was romance. The food was so good and arrived hot off the grill. The appetizers were unlimited and all passed. It was a truly elegant event.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Calamigos Equestrian Center in Burbank. The ceremony was on the Terrace of the Grand Equestrian Ballroom and our Reception was in the Grand Ballroom. I could not have asked for a better venue and vendors! They are so organized and helpful there. Annah was there to answer any and all of my questions I had at any time. When she wasn't there the other girls helped me just as much. They made everything so painless and easy...except for the dollar amount, which was pretty expensive, but it was worth EVERY penny!! They also had everything included, and I mean everything. The food, the tables and chairs, the linens, the appetizers, the alcohol. The only thing we had to bring in was the cake. The whole place is beautiful and I was so very happy with the entire process along with our wedding day. They even had a coordinator there to help us at the Rehearsal and the day of. WONDERFUL! If anybody is getting married in Los Angeles, I suggest getting married at the Calamigos Equestrian Center in Burbank. You will not be disappointed!!

We had our wedding at Calamigos Equestrian Center in June 2014. The ceremony was at The Little White House and the reception was at The Polo Room. From the beginning, we loved the ambiance of Calamigos. We really wanted a outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, and Calamigos was the prefect place! We loved the beauty and shade of the trees as well as the front law, flowers, and background mountains. The Polo Room has a great feel too-really nice, but also able to be laid back at the same time with a nice outdoor patio for going in and out.

When we were deciding on Calamigos, Michael took the time to meet with us and answer our questions and they even provided appetizers when we met with them. They also have a few photo books so that you can really get a feel for the venue and ideas of how your wedding will look.

The food tasting was awesome, they have one twice a year and you get to taste everything. We ended up going with the salmon and beef tenderloin and veggie pasta and received many compliments on the food and of course Calamigos’ ambiance.

Kat and Abigail helped answer our questions as the wedding was getting closer and made us feel at ease. During the wedding Kat was on top of everything in coordinating everyone in adding to the calm and happy day.

The only thing that we did not care for was that we (bride and groom, bridal party, parents) had to move all of our personal belongings, etc. over to the reception from the Little White House right after taking pictures, It ate up time and was awkward and would have been been much easier if we could have left our items there and picked them up at the end of the night or have someone from Calamigos help to bring it over.

Our wedding turned out beautifully and was just what we wanted! It also was really nice to have the ceremony right across from the reception so that people could just walk over.

They were outstanding, professional, gracious, kind, understanding, patient. The wedding ceremony was in the garden of The Little White House and cocktails and the reception were on the patio and in the gorgeous Calamigos Ballroom across the street.
From the early planning days when we met with Briana in sales, every detail of Noelle & Jake’s wedding was tended to with great care. We transitioned from Briana to Abigail in operations as we got down to the actual details of the rehearsal and wedding. On the wedding day, Steve in catering was our “go to” guy and he was amazing – seeing to the tiniest of details in the most accommodating, gracious manner.
The Ballroom is spacious and beautifully appointed. There is lots of room to mix and mingle. We had a full orchestra and a DJ and young children – there was a place for everyone to dance and enjoy a relaxed, fun party.
The menu and décor details were managed precisely to our taste and specifications. A few times a year, Calamigos presents an event where brides and grooms can visit and actually experience the many components that can come together to create just the right wedding reception for each couple – a well-presented “big picture” event.
Noelle & Jake chose a menu of the most delicious and attractive passed hors d’oeuvres as well as the menu for our dinner. Each plate was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and served hot! And, not only did everything look beautiful, it was delicious – really delicious!
The grounds at Calamigos are beautiful. A feature that might not be important to many is accessibility. Calamigos is fully accessible to wheelchairs and this was important to us as we had a few guests with disabilities and they were able to fully enjoy everything and move with ease and comfort.

This place is awesome! Wonderful, pleasant, and professional service. We had Virginia help us from the beginning and she's the best of all the places we made contact with when we were first looking for our wedding location. She was readily available, she gave us several ideas, was always ready to answer our questions, and was more than willing to do anything for us to help create the wedding of our dreams. We had our wedding at the equestrian terrace and ballroom and the place was amazing! The food was the best! Only Calamigos offered a food tasting event for their clients and that was great! All our guests said our wedding location was beautiful. The only complaint we heard after was about the bartender not seeming to be in a very welcoming mood. But then again we don't get to pick the bartender and we didn't get the chance to get our own drinks at the bar since we were served the whole night. Other than that everything else was the best! What we received was well worth what we paid for! :)

Calamigos is a wonderful place to get married. Their staff really goes out of their way to make your vision happen. I would recommend considering having your wedding on an off day, say a Friday or Sunday. You get the same wonderful location for a lot less money.

I had my wedding at Calamigos in 9/07. I couldn't possibly say enough. Everything was beautiful, the site and room. The serving staff were amazing. The food was awesome (yes, wedding food was actually awesome!). Calamigos planners Robin and Annah were so helpful and great all the way through...flexible, great attention to detail, sweet and really made me feel like they cared about creating a special experience for me. My experience with them at all steps from my first phone call to leaving the venue on our wedding day was everything I could have hoped for. I am still getting compliments about how beautiful the room was, how great the food was and how much fun everyone had. Big thanks to Calamigos!

    Flexible, Convenient, and Beautiful

I booked Calamigos Equestrian for my Autumn wedding in September. I received absolutely nothing but complements for the venue's location, accommodations, food, and overall aesthetic.

Some things to know if you're looking for a venue to book when you're a nervous wreck from realizing you have to plan a wedding!

    1) Location: This location is right off of the 134 freeway and super close to Burbank Airport. You're basically making it really easy for guests to come to you. They're free to fly directly in on the day of the wedding, or drive just outside of the insane traffic that is Downtown LA/Hollywood.
    2) Flexibility: Calamigos offers 3 different ballrooms+ceremony sites. Each with it's own aesthetic for you to find the room that's right for you. I ended up booking the Equestrian Grand Ballroom because I absolutely adored that open floor plan with lots of windows to fit with my rustic wedding theme
    3) PARKING: I absolutely cannot emphasize how important it was that this location had it's own individual parking lots for each of the 3 ballrooms. We didn't cross over at all with the other weddings AND it was right next to the entrance of our ballroom, which means that even your latest arrivals can still manage to park, and walk right up to your wedding without any issues. You'll find a lot of other venues (hotels mostly) are usually difficult for guests to either valet their cars in time, or find a parking spot not 4 floors down with them running in heels to get into your ceremony in time!
    4) Convenience: One of the best things about this location is that the individual ball rooms essentially contain 3 things in the exact same place, but separated brilliantly so it allows for transitions through the evening: Ceremony Site, Cocktail Hour Area/Hallway, Reception Banquet Hall. I was able to do my Ceremony into Cocktail Hour into Reception seamlessly with the guests only needing to take 10 steps into the next location. This was the number 1 reason for compliments of the evening.
    5) Food: You get to try literally everything they have to offer before making a choice. That means that you get to try all the appetizers, hor dourves, and main courses before making a choice on what everyone gets to eat. And all the food really was delicious! We went with the Prime Rib and Salmon with Miso Ginger for the meat choices, and the Goat Cheese Ravioli for the Vegetarian options. They were delicious!
    6) Aesthetics: This place is beautiful. There is a beautiful grassy area with a fountain background for the ceremony site, along with overhead shades in case it's sunny or even lightly raining if necessary. There's beautifully strung lights for when it gets dark which made the area right outside of where my reception is held absolutely beautiful. The whole place screams rustic with it's white horizontally wood lined walls on the outside of the building
    7) Friendly: Kathy coordinated with me for my wedding day, and me being me, sometimes a bit unorganized, had a million emails sent to her. Everything from random changes, to trying to figure out "OMG IS THERE A PLACE FOR ME TO TAKE PICTURES BEFORE THE CEREMONY STARTS?" are well documented in my mile long email chain. She was kind and responsive and responded in organized bullet points. I appreciate her accommodating all of my crazy last minute changes too, which up until 2 days before the wedding still had 1!

Wedding planning is stressful. I'm just thankful the venue I chose was stress free.

I had my wedding in June 2018 at Calamigos in the Little White House and Polo Room and can not say enough about how smoothly it went off! The wedding day was absolutely beautiful and the staff took such great care of my husband and I. The food tasting they host for you to choose your menu was so much fun, and a big highlight of the planning process. The staff in the office (especially Kathy) was so responsive and helpful in answering all of my questions. The venue is a real value for all that you get and I would definitely recommend it! The food was great, all of the guests really enjoyed the venue, and it photographs beautifully!

My fiance and I picked this venue to have our wedding ceremony and reception because it is convenient, beautiful, professional, and reasonably priced. The location is great because it is close to major highways and airports, and close to attractions such as universal studio, Hollywood, and Pasadena.

The equestrian center had well maintained lawn, rustic buildings and large trees which are perfect for photo shoot. We chose to have our wedding on the lawn outside little white house, cocktail hour at the back yard of little white house, and reception at polo room. It was gorgeous and everyone took a ton of photos.

The staff here is very professional. After all, you would expect that when they host 50+ weddings a year. David and Virginia were our contacts. They are both professional, responsive, and willing to help in every way they can. They guided us to get all the fire permits, insurance and all paper work ready by our wedding day. Steve was leading the crew on the day of. He is polite, attentive and very experienced in working with vendors. He made our reception smooth and enjoyable.

Pricing is very reasonable at this venue. It is not the cheapest venue we found, but their offering gave us the best value and made planning easy. There is no parking fee or valet charge, no extra charge for weekends. There reception package included all the necessities such as chavari chair, table cloth, pin lighting, and cake service. Food minimum was fairly easy to meet. I had to pay an extra fee for setting up open bar at little house house, but it was reasonable and turned out very well. I had a disagreement with Calamigos' vendor meal pricing, which was higher than what I expected, although not required. In the end, Virginia worked with me to let my vendors dine outside.

My wedding turned out to be a huge success. Every guest said they had a great time and food was awesome. I definitely recommend this venue.

Our wedding at Calamigos Equestrian was amazing. From the beautiful grounds to the wonderful food to the great staff, everything went off without a hitch on our wedding day. This was the very first place we visited in our venue search and every place we visited after paled in comparison. Even though they are quite strict on some of their policies (no outside food, insurance for vendors) we still the wedding of our dreams.

Everyone we interacted with at the venue was great from the very beginning. Deirdre on sales, Virginia on coordination, and Steven during the reception. They were all so pleasant and easy to work with, it really made planning so much more enjoyable. Virginia was prompt with emails and great to work with during our pre-planning and final meetings. Steven was great during the reception, always making sure we had everything we needed and taking care of us. I even think he was enjoying himself during the party, which was great!

The venue itself is so gorgeous and the upkeep of the grounds and rooms is impeccable (especially when compared to some of the other places we visited!). We had our ceremony at the Little White House and reception in the Polo Room. I am going to be so happy years from now looking back at the pictures with the beautiful backdrop. And even though there were lots of horses around (and you could hear them!) the grounds were immaculate and didn't smell like animals.

Also, the food was GREAT. Everyone we talked to raved about not only the huge portions but the quality of it. It was way better than any other wedding food I've tasted and I wish I could have eaten more but I was so full only halfway through dinner!

The only thing I would say is that it can be a little expensive, but what wedding venue isn't? And for what they offer in their packages, I think it ended up being just fine. It was a wonderful day for us and I am so happy we went with our first instinct with Calamigos Equestrian.

My wedding at Calamigos Equestrian was a dream! The place itself is stupendous and the management and staff went beyond their expectations to provide us with the best quality service we could ask for. Management was a pleasure to deal which made for a great ceremony and reception planning experience. The food was very tasty and all of our guests raved about it. we would without a doubt recommend.

Calamigos Equestrian was a dreamy place to have our reception. They are a bit pricey, but if your budget allows you will have no regrets choosing them for your venue. They do not skimp on the food by any means--it's delicious and served hot and on time by an attentive staff. They will arrange for you and your fiancee to sample the food on an evening with other couples so you can attempt to narrow down the choices (go there hungry!). Our planning assistant was on top of all the details. We had considered not going with an all-inclusive venue and arranging everything separately on our own, but it makes a difference when you have someone helping you plan your event (cake included). Believe me, you'll be busy enough with other wedding details. There will be other vendor services offered during sample night to give you additional options, but we wanted to keep things 'simply elegant'. The grounds are a beautiful place to have your pictures taken, too. By the way, all of our guests said they couldn't believe there was so much delicious food (and drinks) just during cocktail hour that they were almost too full to eat dinner--and you want to your guests to enjoy the day as much as you do!

My wedding was this past Saturday. My husband and I got engaged March of this year (yes just 3 months ago) and sometime around mid-April we decided we wanted to get married in June. I called Michael (who we had met when doing the tour) and he managed to find us a date! We ended up going with the Grand Prix Terrace for the ceremony and the Polo Room for the reception/cocktail hour. These two were my favorite so it was perfect! They are not normally paired together but since the wedding was so last minute they were able to help us out.

The day of the wedding Steve was the person who specifically took care of us. He was so on it and professional it was crazy! He even came running after us as we were leaving because we had forgotten our Bride and Groom place cards! The entire staff was super coordinated and on top of everything during the reception. The food came out on time and everything stuck to the itinerary I had sent Kathy a week or so before.

Overall everything was amazing. The ceremony and reception sites are super pretty and so they didn't need much to emphasize anything. Like I said, I did my own centerpieces, bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. All I added to the ceremony site was petals along the aisle and at the reception site I added the centerpieces (in 5x5 vases), and petals around the vases. Between Calamigos and our DJ (Mijo Entertainment) the whole wedding seemed to be super coordinated.

I wish I could relive the whole day again!

I highly recommend Calamigos Equestrian. Virginia is a pleasure to work with and made my wedding spectacular. The food was FANTASTIC!!! Everyone loved the food, especially the cocktails (I love the sundried tomato torta). Make sure you know where you can and cannot take pictures before and after the ceremony, because you are limited to certain spaces based upon whether there is another wedding at the venue at the same time. It all works itself out so it isn't a problem, but I recommend making sure you know this information.

All I can say is that this venue is INCREDIBLE. We had our ceremony at the Little White House on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Our photographer loved the natural setting that surrounded the structure, which provided us plenty of photo opportunities before we proceeded to our reception hall, The Polo Room. Everything was expertly arranged and the service staff was outstanding. We loved having our ceremony and reception on the same premises. We will never forget the best day of our lives. Thanks Calamigos!

My husband and I are very happy with the service we received at Calamigos. We truly fell in love with the venue the first time we visited. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and organized. We mostly worked with Virginia and Annah, both of whom are professional, personable, and very helpful. They were prompt in responding to my emails, and were able to answer any and all questions. We especially loved the food tasting event. Food was a HUGE factor for us, and we had heard from friends that Calamigos catering does not disappoint. We have received many compliments about the quality of food, service, and beauty of our venue. We definitely recommend Calamigos for anyone's wedding. It's a perfect place for a SoCal wedding. :)

I recently had a wedding at Calamigos Equestrian Center. They were AMAZING! I would highly reccomend the venue for anyone who is looking. They offer a variety of settings without the feel of a "wedding factory". It was beautiful, the staff was really exceptional to work and the food options were all very high in quality. We received a ton of compliments on the food! They offer packages which make planning so much easier since the venue already comes with fabulous catering, quality linens, chairs and tables, as well as a ceremony and dinner coordinator. I could not have been happier about the service I received or the outcome of the wedding. I work in event so I tend to be very detail oriented and they delievered on all accounts!

You could not choose a finer place to have a wedding or event! We had a fabulous wedding for our son and new daughter-in-law last Friday. The staff is professional, accommodating and helpful. Virginia handled all our arrangements professionally. Steve, the evening Manager, was unbelievably wonderful and attentive. A great guy! The bar tender was absolutely great. Handled the crowd of 145 seemingly effortlessly. All of the serving staff were exceptional. Very attentive. The food was delicious. A++ Calamigos Equestrian!!

We're originally from Burbank and most of the people we know live in Burbank, so we wanted to get married somewhere local so we wouldn't have to make people drive far for our wedding. We personally hate having to drive far to other peoples wedding, so we didn't want to be THAT couple.

As soon as we saw calamigos we knew this was the place. It's tucked away in a residential area of Burbank that doesn't really feel like Burbank! It's very tree heavy, and there are horses here! Highly recommend this venue for a mid sized wedding. We hired David Amir of Blacktie Photography to photograph our wedding here and he did a simply amazing job capturing the beauty of this place. Highly recommended!

Loved the location and they provided us with an organizer to help with the set up for the ceremony itself, the reception dinner, and so forth. She was not expected to help with any of the aspects of the wedding that did not relate to services provided by Calamigos, so if you are looking for a full wedding planner you would still need to hire one.
The food was excellent, although we stuffed ourselves so full at the tasting that we almost had to roll ourselves to our car. Definitely set up a system and take small samples. :-)
I believe that the whole experience was worth it to me, but I feel that I could have done it for less money if I had been permitted to find my own caterer.
We were required to use vendors off of their list, or go through (what seemed like) a lengthy process to get new vendors approved.
Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience and I'd do it again.

Calamigos has been easy to work with and always available to answer our questions any time we call. We are so happy that we picked Calamigos for our wedding!

Calamigos Equestrian Center, first and foremost we thank you. The setting was immaculate from the ceremony at the Little White House to reception in the Polo Room. Not to mention the equestrian event that was taking place during our wedding, which made for a beautiful backdrop. The Polo Room was great for a daytime wedding with all the windows and light pouring through. The service was excellent, and we heard from multiple guests that the food was some of the best wedding food they'd ever tasted. Although my wife and I barely had time to eat, I remember the salmon being quite tasty.

However, we did have some points of criticism. We had a morning wedding with a stopping point at 4:00; when 4:00 rolled around, we were told to wrap things up in a very abrupt tone. This could have been handled more gracefully. Also, the email responsiveness could have been better. Sometimes it took 2-3 days and a follow up email to get a response.

But all-in-all VERY high ratings. Our wedding was nothing shy of perfection.

We chose Calamigos for our wedding because the venue coordinator we met was extremely warm and helpful, and the grounds were very well maintained and beautiful. But as time went by, I felt less and less confident in our decision.

Email responses seemed to slow down as time went by. There also seemed to be more and more restrictions on what we could and could not have. Anything not part of the norm was charged extra - a lot extra. The food was also not nearly as good as anticipated. They really tried to make us happy by doing a custom appetizer, but the entrees were quite limited, as well. Choices on linens were also slim, which meant spending more money to rent/buy them. Costs overall were very high. We went over our budget by a good $5000 because you can't downgrade the package once you sign the contract. There were also a few things we discussed that would have been forgotten had it not been for my DOC reminding Calamigos.

It rained all day on our wedding day, so we weren't able to have our ceremony in the garden or take photos outdoors. Although there were a lot of issues we came across while planning the wedding, the wedding day itself was excellent. The service was great. The banquet manager was attentive and friendly. The waiters were also very good. The food was mostly good - my beef was overcooked, but many guests said the food was very good.

Overall, I'm not sure I'd recommend Calamigos. It is a good venue in general if you aren't too picky with food or customizations. The people are friendly but there are just too many rules.

They made everything so easy and nice

Calamigos was our choice because we could have a beautiful ceremony and reception in one location and they made everything so easy for us and our guests so we could just focus on enjoying our wedding. They are pros and so willing and ready to adjust their packages to fit your preferences. They don’t upcharge for every single item and their staff is so friendly and helpful.

I had my wedding/reception at the Equestrian Terrace and Ballroom. Staff was nice. Both were beautiful for my wedding and the food was great. The dinner & cake included in our package was convenient. The dinner tasting event was awesome, we got to taste all our options (but wish they had smaller tasting portions for the meat, I felt bad wasting food).

    Here are my biggest complaints:
They only give us 3 hours to decorate the whole ballroom and terrace before the ceremony starts. That was not enough time for my family to decorate and get ready elsewhere, so they had to get ready at the venue before the ceremony started. I really wish Calamigos would've let us start the decorating earlier but they told us they wanted to keep the areas open for their open house. Also, the bridal suite is located inside the Ballroom and I kindly allowed my family to use it as a stock room / changing room, but this also means I sacrificed my private alone time before the ceremony.
Also, a week before the wedding we went to Calamigos to sign our final contracts and they notified us that we couldn't take any pre-wedding pictures outside of our Ballroom/Terrace because a company rented out all the outdoor areas for an event/picnic. I wasn't happy to receive this news last minute. It was inconvenient and unexpected to figure out where we'd take pictures with our wedding party before the ceremony. We ended up taking pictures only in the Terrace before the ceremony which was still pretty, but I felt disappointed when our guests started arriving and could see us - between my family getting ready and early arrivers, it felt like more than half our guests saw me in my dress before the ceremony.

If Calamigos had warned us about the pre-wedding picture limitation as soon as they booked the other event and let us decorate the ballroom/terrace earlier so everything didn't feel rushed and my family didn't have to get ready at the venue, I would've given this place a perfect review.

Overall, we were very happy with Calamigos. We got married in the Equestrian Terrace and had our reception in the Equestrian Ballroom. Both were absolutely beautiful. After our tasting (which is done in a large group), I was worried about the food. However, on the day of the wedding, the food was MUCH better than expected. There were several errors made during our wedding (they ran out of food at cocktail hour), but, once brought to their attention, things were quickly fixed (they brought out additional, more expensive food ASAP). The staff at Calamigos is hit or miss. Some can be rude and extremely uncooperative (such as one of the bartenders at our wedding), but some go above and beyond to help. Our coordinator, Virginia, was amazing! She did everything she could to make sure that our wedding was perfect. I would recommend Calamigos.

Calamigos has a pretty good rep already from things I have read. It was recently named one of the top places to have your wedding reception in Southern California and I would have to agree that this was the perfect setting for my special day. The food was delicious, all of the arrangements I had made in terms of my guest book, table numbers and such were all taken care of just to my liking. It was beautiful.

I guess the only reason I even bother reviewing this well known and highly praised venue is because I was very very disappointed with the "wedding coordinator" assigned to me. Clearly, it must be a tricky job, but coming from a field of work where I know all the ins and outs of putting together a huge event, I tried my best to keep her well informed and basically did a lot of her job for her.

Yet come the day of our rehearsal and she barely facilitated any of what was going to happen. We all left knowing little more than what we already knew before the rehersal. Still, that's not what bothered me. What bothered me most was on the day of the wedding, she failed to keep guests from coming into the place where I was getting ready, and somewhat scolded me for starting our ceremony on time (I have punctual friends what can I say) and for finishing slightly early. She told me that she was having to deal with a very upset kitchen because we were early....by 10 minutes!

Even if that did throw the kitchen staff off, I don't think that it's very professional for a wedding coordinator to get mad with the BRIDE about it. I was taking photos at the time and was basically at a loss. I mean what am I supposed to say to that? Sorry, my ceremony wasn't to your liking? Furthermore, she was rude to my parents and didn't take the burden off me or my maid of honor. The rest of the night I was basically coordinating with the photographer, the head caterer and the DJ as to when we should do the next thing on the itinerary. I should have had a head set on that's how much I ended up having to "work" my own wedding.

This is a person who Calamigos requires you to have and charges you an extra $350 to employ. They claim that they do this because it really is necessary in most weddings to have a specific person running the operation so that the bride, her mom, the bridesmaids, etc. can all do the things they have to do. I would agree with that logic, but I certainly didn't get what I had paid for in this case. I think it probably just really has to do with who you get, but they don't tell you who it is till the rehearsal.

So, a word of advice: Calamigos at the LA Equestrian Center is a wonderful place to have your event, but ask who will be your assigned coordinator in advance. Maybe see if you can meet them. It was the difference in me giving them a glowing review and the less than perfect one you just read.

Everything was outstanding with this venue except for one drawback. The afternoon before the wedding, I received a call stating that we still owed money to them, and apparently all of my invoices would be read wrong because of their accounting mistake. Now, I would not have had a problem had the called me the week before the wedding, heck, even the beginning of the week prior to the wedding. However, they called me less than 24 hours before the ceremony was to take place. For them to tell me that this was my fault and not their's left a very bad taste in my mouth. The ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful, but the fact that their accounting person made a mistake and I had to pay for it was complete bs. Good luck to those girls out there that use them. I'd say to watch your invoices, but since they told me even though invoices appeared correct and in fact they were wrong leads me to believe that I got screwed. Just be mindful and always make sure you have your backups (which I did but apparently it doesn't matter to them).

I felt that the policies at this venue were too strict. While the food tasted better than I anticipated, I wasn't quite sure this venue was worth the cost.

    Disappointed...

My fiance and I booked our wedding for November 2020 at Calamigos. We loved the place. It was the perfect package for us. The ceremony site and ballroom were beautiful!

As we all know though, things have changed over the last few months. My fiance and I no longer feel confident that we can plan the wedding we want in November, given the current state of the world amid this pandemic. We would have guests traveling from Asia, NYC, and elsewhere. Some elderly, some immunocompromised.

We expressed our concerns to Calamigos and proactively wanted to find out what our options were. We were told that If we were still dealing with the pandemic, Calamigos would reach out mid to late-September to discuss possible alternatives in direct relation to COVID-19. We were also told we could refer to our contract with regards to rescheduling the event and that all payment terms were expected to move forward as listed in the contract.

I spoke with someone else who informed that the contract only allows us to reschedule within the same calendar year. Surely there would be some flexibility given the current situation... Nope...

I get it, they have a business to run, but none of this smelled good and our next large deposit date was approaching. We now no longer felt comfortable with our venue. We asked to cancel. Given the current situation, we asked for some of our deposit back. We understand that the deposit was non-refundable, but a little flexibility would have been appreciated given the financial impact this pandemic has caused.

Their response: Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable but we will allow you to reschedule to next year at next years prices ($4 more per person). Another slap in the face...

I can't say that i've ever ran a business, but I can say that this type of customer service is a sure fire way to lose business.

We expressed that was not an option for us and asked to cancel again. I received a call the next day telling me to just wait it out, and that I'm just losing money and doing myself a disservice. Still, no conversation of flexibility on anything. They pleaded with me, but did nothing for me. I asked to move forward with cancellation.

Again, we understand the contract and their position, but nobody could have ever anticipated a pandemic that is expected to impact large gatherings of people for likely the rest of the year. You would expect that the venue who claims that they are dedicated to creating a joyous and memorable occasion for you and your loved ones, would have a little sympathy...

Calamigos is a beautiful venue and we were very excited to get married there. Unfortunately, there is just absolutely no flexibility whatsoever, despite this unprecedented event outside of our control.

They assume you will have a wedding planner and if you don't God help you, because it is near impossible to get ahold of anyone over the phone and they are rarely there in person either. Double check your contract and make sure you specify in person exactly what you need and don't need.
We had the little White House and Grand Prix room. You are not allowed there until 3 hrs before to setup/take pics which for the bride is problematic due to hair and makeup taking longer than that, so plan on doing that elsewhere. Also, the food tastings are only done twice a year and your rehearsal must be between 5 and 7pm the Thursday before which is inconvenient. At our wedding they set up random tables at our ceremony location that we didn't ask for and had to get removed. We didn't have people bringing drinks and snacks like we were told there would be - just some left out for us and no one in sight but then we'd hear a toilet flush and think is someone in here with us? We were also told someone would bring us our appetizers after the ceremony and before the reception while we took pics and no one did so we didn't get any. Some of our flower arrangements disappeared after the wedding and it was not the guests taking them home. They lost our vendor forms. They cut up all our wedding cake (a 150 person cake) for our wedding when less than 100 people were there (some had already left and we didn't have 150 to start with) and let it sit out then threw it away wasting almost half of it and our guests commented on it later. Our guests also said the food was inconsistent (some overcooked, some fine). My prime rib was overcooked and fatty and stringy while my husband's was great. They kept removing my drinks and one glass was 25 year old whiskey that a groomsman brought for us. We had the sweetheart table so why clear our drinks when the wedding had just started and we were making the rounds before going back to sit? Very disappointed and would not recommend.
