The best vendor ever

I can not even begin to express how much I loved working with Tammy. She is the best hands down. From the experience of designing the cake to the final product she is truly amazing. My husband and I wanted to do a Neapolitan cake with different icing flavors each layer and she perfected it. I honestly did not originally want a cake. I knew if I did I was going to go to a well known bakery in our area. I grew up loving their cakes. When we visited our experience was mediocre at best. I considered not having a cake until we found Tammy. After working with Tammy, seeing the display at our wedding, and eating the cake I can honestly say it was one of my favorite aspects of our wedding in the end! We got so many compliments on the design, taste, and size of the slices!

Tammy is INCREDIBLE and our cake was everything we had hoped it would be! We had a three tier semi naked ombré cake with three different flavors-all delicious! Her buttercream fillings were to die for and we are going to struggle not to break into our anniversary cake early! We had our wedding at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Coraopolis PA and they hold a bridal show that we attended. There we met with and were able to sample from the two cake vendors that came in our package. When I tasted Tammy's Cake which was a raspberry swirl cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream I almost fell over. It was ans still is the best cake I have ever tasted in my life. I never dreamed I would like raspberry but her cake was so moist and delicious that you can taste the love that she puts into her cakes. One taste and I was hooked. Then when we spoke she was so polite and sweet and funny I just knew she had to be the one to make my dream wedding cake. WE meet up at the hotel to go over flavors and design elements. She sent me a few sketches and I fell in love with her designs she was able to take elements of my weeing dress and add them to the cake. I cant say enough about this women and what she does. Her talent is truly remarkable. Iv'e read other reviews about her, saying she's not responsive but you try making as many wedding cakes as she does all while being a wife and busy mother!!!! I couldn't keep up so give the women a little credit. She's not some big bakery with multiple staff so something!!!! Anyways I absolutely love everything she did for me and my day was complete with my beautiful and delicious cake by Tammy!

Our cake was absolutely incredible! It was, hands down, my favorite part of the reception! Tammy created exactly what I envisioned and requested, and it was absolutely beautiful. The detail execution - gorgeous. Tammy was also very receptive whenever I thought about changing my design, and offered her expertise opinion in which I trusted and was not let down. If you are looking for something classy, timeless, elegant - this is your bakery!

I had previously placed a not so great review of Tammy after having an error with our wedding cake & responsiveness. Turns out this was just a miscommunication & Tammy offered us the correct cake for our anniversary! I appreciate her trying to make this better for us so much. We will be working with Tammy again in the future for all occasions!

Tammy was an absolute delight to work with! From our initial conversation to the very end of our wedding, we loved our experience with her. She took her time in answering all our questions, prepared some amazing options for us to try during the tasting, was an absolute professional the entire time while being truly kind and patient. Tammy was my favorite vendor of my entire wedding and I cannot sing her praises enough!! As an out of town bride, Tammy worked with me to allow me to taste some of her cakes, even meeting me at night at a random hotel in Robinson to drop them off to me. We had a separate wedding cake from Prantl's for a morning brunch on the wedding day (Tammy's was for our evening reception) that I expected to be my favorite. However, at the evening reception, I was blown away!! We had the marble cake with oreo buttercream, which I expected to be good but it was by far my favorite cake I've ever had. I was also incredibly indecisive about how I wanted it decorated and what color I wanted it. She really helped me come up with a design and color scheme and I can't thank her enough. Her cake was gorgeous. I give her my highest recommendation - Tammy is AMAZING!!!

Tammy was great throughout the entire process! She works out of her house, so she met us at a local hotel to discuss the cake. From the beginning, she made the entire process convenient for us! Prior to meeting, she had us pick two cake/frosting flavor combinations, and she made us two complimentary 6-inch mini cakes to try the two flavors. It was great to have these samples, because we were able to take them home and share them with our families and include them in the process! We knew we loved Tammy but still weren't positive which flavor we wanted, so I contacted Tammy to ask if we could try a couple more flavors, and I was able to purchase two more small cakes to try! She met me again at a location close to our home to give them to me, too. Once we chose our flavors (marble with buttercream and raspberry swirl with buttercream), I had a lot of ideas for designs saved on Pinterest and Tammy was so receptive to all of my ideas. She ended up making me a 3-tier ombre style cake in my wedding colors, going from teal at the top down to a rich purple at the bottom. The cake topper that I purchased on Etsy went perfectly with the cake, and I loved how great she was with taking my ideas and making them a reality! The cake was delicious at the wedding, of course, and everyone loved it. Her prices were much more reasonable than some of the large bakeries in the area that we visited, and her personal, attentive service was worth every penny. She works out of northeastern Ohio but was very happy to meet us outside of Pittsburgh! I definitely recommend Tammy to everyone in the eastern Ohio/western Pennsylvania areas looking for quick, personalized service and delicious cakes for their big day!

Cake by Tammy provided my cake at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport on 4/9/2016 for my wedding. It was great. It was exactly what I wanted. She had so many choices of cake. Sad to say there was none left to take home. Everyone ate it. I would have Tammy do my wedding cake again.

Working with Tammy was an absolute pleasure! She is passionate about her work and genuinely excited to be doing your wedding cake. Starting with the flavor, Tammy's cakes are delicious! You have your choose of many flavors, as well as three levels of buttercream depending on how sweet you want it. (We couldn't be more thrilled with our choice of chocolate cake & amaretto filling!) The quality of cake and design really make Tammy stand out from other bakeries. Unlike most bakeries that ask you to bring a photo in and then nickel and dime you for each element, Tammy works with you to create a one-of-a kind design. After meeting with you, she goes back to the drawing board to come up with various sketches of your potential cake. She doesn't try to nickel and dime you for silly things like the shape of your cake, and the finished product is absolutely perfect!

LOVE LOVE LOVED Tammy! She did a fantastic job. We met with her once before the wedding and she listened to all of our ideas and gave some of her own. She was super friendly and very easy to work with. She was willing to customize the icing, cake and filling to be exactly what we wanted. A couple of months before the wedding she sent me some drawings she had come up with and I gave her a few ideas and everything was executed perfectly. The cake was gorgeous and tasted fantastic. We got a ton of compliments on how it looked and tasted! Would absolutely recommend her to anyone. She is friendly, attentive and does a great job.

Tammy made our wedding cake which was part of our wedding package at our venue and it was beautiful!! We had so many delicious options to choose from and Tammy was so great to work with. I can not even begin to tell you how AMAZING Tammy from Cakes by Tammy is to work with. I looked at many different cake places and had high expectations for the cake I wanted. I wanted a truly custom cake with intricate designs. I went to a couple bakeries that wanted to charge insane amounts of money or just told me they could not do the cake I envisioned. When I met with Tammy she said she was excited to make the cake and hoped I chose the one I showed her. She was up for the challenge. The cake was the most BEAUTIFUL thing I have ever seen! I did not want to cut it! It was a 6 tier cake with a detailed silver dragee design and edible pearls. She had to apply the design with tweezers (I now feel bad about that). My reception venue second my opinions on the cake and said it was the best one they had seen. Not only was it the most beautiful cake ever but it also tasted delicious! You will not regret going with Tammy, she was amazing!

Our wedding cake was included in our wedding package from our venue, but we had a choice between two bakers. We chose Cakes by Tammy and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Tammy is such a pleasant person to work with! She listens to exactly what you want and gives it to you. Our cake was EXACTLY what we wanted! My husband doesn't even like cake, but he looooved Tammy's french vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling which we used in each tier of our wedding cake. I would definitely recommend Tammy to all my friends and family. Such a great person!

I can't come up with a single complaint about Tammy! We brought in a picture of a wedding cake we liked and she helped us tweak it to fit our ideas without any issue. She was open to any ideas we had and worked with us to bring our vision to life. When we ran into a little bit of design trouble, she went above and beyond and worked her butt off to make our dream cake a reality! She was quick to answer e-mails and to correspond about the progress. Most importantly, the cake tasted PHENOMENAL! My husband ate his piece - then stole mine while I wasn't looking and ate that, too! We cannot wait to eat our anniversary cake (which was baked and packaged separately - so awesome). We LOVE Cakes by Tammy and would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding cake.

Tammy is by far the best baker I dealt with in my search for my wedding cake. After meeting with her, she insisted that we look at other vendors before making our choice. And after we did, there was no comparison! Tammy makes her clients feel special and appreciated...unlike other vendors that I dealt with that made me feel like I was a burden or taking up their time. Cakes by Tammy was by far me and my husband's BEST and FAVORITE vendor!

During our consultation, Tammy brought us two 8" cakes that blew us away! We were literally eating the icing that was left on the inside of the box.

Her prices were the BEST that we could find.

Onto our wedding cake, our wedding cake turned out to be PERFECT! We expected our cake to be exactly as the picture we showed her.... but it ended up being much more gorgeous! We and our guests were blown away.... We've gotten tons of compliments on how moist the cake was and how the icing was just perfect!

My husband and I plan to use Cakes by Tammy for ALL of our future functions.... she was beyond GREAT!

I forget how we came in contact with Tammy and her services but boy am I glad that we did! She is an amazing baker and really nice and easy to get along with!

During our first meeting we had an idea of what we wanted our cake to look like and that changed about 10 times until our wedding! Each time Tammy was happy to change any of the details and even drew up some ideas for us!

In the end we just gave her our wedding invitation and asked to draw something similar on the cake cascading up and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY!! Not to mention her French vanilla cake with strawberry filling is amazing!

Where to start... Tammy worked wonders for our day to be special from the very first day we met. She works with you to meet and then makes you two cakes to bring home to share with family and friends. However my Husband and I still were not sure which cake we wanted so she offered to make a third type for us to try. Thank goodness she did it was the Winner! She then met with us to discuss the design. All I can say is that you have a picture in your mind of what it will look like but WOW does she do an outstanding job! Still to this day ( 2 months later) every one of our guests comment on how beautiful and how awesome our cake was! Tammy is the way to go to make your special day complete.

Tammy was the first wedding cake baker/decorator we met with. We had other appointments lined up but cancelled them as soon as we met with her. She has a wonderful portfolio and is willing to work with any ideas that you have to make your cake how you want it. She listened, made suggestions, and then fully exceeded my expectations. Our cake could NOT have turned out more perfect or delicious. She even suggested using sheet cakes and keeping them in the back to keep the price down! It’s been 3 months and we are still receiving compliments on it, know other friends who want to use her after tasting and seeing our cake, and have been told by multiple people it is the best cake they’ve ever had! I can’t wait until October so we can eat our anniversary cake! Many, many thank Tammy!!!

Tammy is just amazing. We were pleased with all of the vendors we chose, after we did a lot of research on them, mostly from this site! Tammy is, as a person, very friendly. We got two whole cakes with our choice of flavor and filling. Both delicious. After we had decided to use her, we had the toughest time deciding on a design. Tammy worked with us and sent us several drawing via email over several months. After about six of them, we saw one and said- "That's it! That's our cake!" And, I wanted my cake to look "different," but not exactly sure how. I asked her if she could make it a hexagon, and she did! Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious. We had so many guests tell us how good it was, many of them surprised because wedding cake doesn't always taste as good as it looks! We are definitely happy with our decision to use her!

Tammy was incredible to work with and so friendly. She met with me and my husband and made so many tasty samples for us. We were originally thinking of another baker but once we tasted Tammy's cakes and got to know her we knew she was the one. She did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend her services.

WOW is all I can honestly say! Tammy was more than a dream to work with, not to mention she created the wedding cake of our dreams!!! My husband and I had been engaged for 14 months and had time to carefully plan our entire wedding to not only fit our taste, but budget as well. From the moment I contacted Tammy I could tell I was going to love working with her. What a personality she has! She honestly is so awesome to work with. When you go through wedding planning you find that not everyone is truly passionate, however, with Tammy, her passion for wedding cakes is contagious! Initially, my husband and I had ideas of what we would want our wedding cake to look like, but it took time to look through photos online and develop ideas, etc. We also were not sure what flavors we would like. Tammy provides you with a couple complimentary cakes to try for your tasting, however we decided to try a few extra at a small cost of $5 each additionally. (Years back, I had the opportunity to try wedding cakes at a local bakery, before I knew of Tammy of course, for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, you got to sample small pieces and it was fun, but that was it, only small samples). When we took the 4 small cakes home to my fiances house, we had a nice night of trying out flavors time and time again, and had enough to have both sets of parents come over an try in addition. As our wedding got closer we finally narrowed down a wedding cake design, based off one we found online but with some changes to our own taste. However, literally 4-5 weeks before our wedding, we had a change of heart on the cake we chose and found another dream cake. Tammy was more than accommodating! She was willing to meet with us again to discuss the new cake we sent to her, and discussed creative details that she had, in addition to our own. Not to mention, that this new cake we chose involved ordering tons of gum paste flowers for the top, rhinestones and a rhinestone band. As we walked into our reception my mouth literally dropped when I saw our 5 tier ivory cake, only something I could have dreamed of! My husband and I were speechless! Our guests couldn't get over how gorgeous the cake was (and I understand I am biased of my own wedding, but it truly was the most stunning wedding cake I have ever seen)! We chose the raspberry swirl cake with the raspberry filling for our cake and it was just amazing! Just as good as when we tasted it - and again we received comments from our guests on how much they enjoyed it, as well! In addition, it was mentioned by numerous people working there that the cake could not have been budget friendly, when in fact, it honestly was. Choosing Tammy to make our wedding cake was the best choice we could have made and we are so appreciate of the care she took in what she did for us. Even our photographer used her a few years back and has wonderful things to say! (Once our cake is up on her website, it is the 5 tier ivory/white cake with luster spray, large gum paste flower top, with a swirled rhinestone design on each tier, with a monogram S). My advise to any bride is to contact Tammy, she will work with any of our ideas, budget, etc. Your wedding is supposed to be the best day of your life and Tammy will make sure your cake truly lives up to your expectations. I have nothing but praise for Tammy and her AMAZING cakes! We had half spice cake with cream cheese buttercream filling and half white with almond amaretto filling. Both flavors were so amazing that we couldn't choose between them (and Tammy didn't charge us extra for splitting flavors!) Cakes by Tammy easily has the most beautiful, delicious, moist, and reasonably priced cakes in the area! I would recommend her to any bride looking for a beautiful custom designed cake without spending ”custom designed prices.”

Tammy was absolutely wonderful to work with, and her cake is DELICIOUS! We live out of town so planning a time to meet up with Tammy to sample her cake was difficult, but she was gracious enough to meet us in a non-traditional place, at a non-traditional time, and give us our sample cakes, which were fantastic. We actually asked Tammy to make our wedding cupcakes, and a gigantic cupcake for us to "cut." 3 different flavored cakes with 3 different flavored icings, PLUS the big guy on top. She was prompt, kind, wonderful, and very reasonably priced. I can't recommend Tammy enough!

After visiting with several bakeries, meeting with Tammy was a breath of fresh air. She was incredible to work with! Our cake was even more gorgeous than I imagined & it tasted as good as it looked. We've gotten so many complements on it!
Tammy really did everything possible to make this a great experience, from giving suggestions on where to find the cake topper I was looking for, to creative flavors (rasp swirl cake with rasp mousse & marble cake with choc Bavarian cream were our final picks) & a surprise groom's cake.
I plan to use Tammy in the future & highly recommend her!

Even though Tammy was part of a package deal with our reception venue, I was 100% satisfied with her business. We were able to attend a cake tasting event early in the planning process and it was so much fun and relaxed and we could try so many combinations. She was flexible and understood everything we wanted and executed it perfectly (above and beyond what I imagined). The cake was SO delicious =) I can't wait to have more on my first anniversary!!

Our wedding cake by Tammy was beautiful! Since I was a long distance bride, Tammy and I would e-mail each other back and forth. I sent her some pictures of what we were thinking and of course changed my mind a few times during the process. But, the cake turned out exactly as we imagined it to be! Tammy was amazing! She gave us two generous cake samples to try when we were deciding on flavors (which were both _delicious_ and large enough to share with our families). The cake on the wedding day looked better than I could have hoped. Basically, I sent her photos of a bunch of cakes that I liked via email and she creatively combined them into one awesome dream cake! I keep looking at the pictures of it in shock because I can't believe how gorgeous it was! We also had lots of family tell us how great it tasted (I can't remember myself, as all I got was little bits that the groom shoved into my face :-/ haha). Can't wait for our 1 year anniversary to eat the top ! :)

Tammy was so wonderful to work with! Very responsive by email, which was so helpful! She definitely lets you know her thoughts on things, and I very much appreciated that! The cake was beautiful, elegant and classy as we had discussed. And the taste. WOW! It was the best cake I have ever tasted! After my first bite, I literally licked the plate clean – the icing was THAT good! Our guests still talk about how good the cake was. The LeMont banquet manager, Tony, even came up to me later that night and asked who did our cake because he said it was just so beautiful and he kept hearing about how good it tasted! All in all – she was wonderful!

Tammy was such a pleasure to work with!! From our consultation through to the day of the wedding, she exceeded my expectations!

Prior to meeting in person for the first time, Tammy asked us to choose two cake and filling combinations that we'd like to try. She made two FULL-SIZED cakes that we took home to sample. They were amazing!

Our consultation was great - she showed us pictures and was able to give us exact price quotes as well as quotes for increased and decreased guest counts.

Throughout the months of planning, Tammy was easy to get in touch with via e-mail. She was receptive to modifications and changes to the decoration and/or cake flavors.

On the day of the wedding, I was blown away by the gorgeous, DELICIOUS cake. Even our guests remarked on how amazing the cake was.

I would definitely recommend that other Pittsburgh brides work with Tammy.

Tammy went above and beyond for our wedding cake. We were doing a movie themed wedding and wanted 4 tiers of movie reels and pictures on our cake, but still wanted it to remain elegant, but whimsical... not an easy task! Tammy jumped at the opportunity to create such a unique cake, and she succeeded in doing so, 110%! We just loved the way it looked (I didn't want to cut it!) and all of our guests, and our DJ kept saying over and over how it was the best looking cake they'd ever seen at a wedding. Someone said it was better than some they'd seen on TLC's Cake Boss! It was absolutely stunning, and even better...it TASTED fantastic! We chose the French Vanilla cake with Strawberry filling, it was sooo delicious! I absolutely love the fact that Tammy does these cakes in buttercreme, she can make it look as smooth and pretty as fondant, but it's so much more yummy. We can NOT wait for our 1 year anniversary to eat our cake....some friends and family have said that they have had dreams about eating our wedding cake! I'm thinking I may have to ask Tammy how she feels about creating a special birthday cake for my husband, just so we can have her delicious cake before our 1 year anniversary!! Thanks Tammy!!!

We had a great experience with Tammy and making our wedding cake! I heard about her from a friend of my mother and read some other reviews online about how great she was to work with. Tammy did not disappoint! We met her one morning to talk over details and get some samples. She was very friendly and excited to work with us. We were even more excited after we tried her sample cakes, they were delicious! She was great in responding back and forth over email to go over our design and what we wanted. She understood what we wanted and always responded back quickly! When we saw our cake on our wedding day, it was exactly as we were hoping, and it tasted great too! We did two flavors and they were both delicious! Tammy was very pleasant to work with, I would recommend her to anyone!

I came across Tammy at a bridal show at the Holiday Inn Airport. The sample she gave us was so delicious and her prices were very reasonable. While other bakeries charge for fillings, some of the basic fillings are included in with no extra charge. Tammy was great to work with and very accommodating. Our wedding cake turned out exactly how we pictured it and it was equally delicious. I received many compliments from our guests. I HIGHLY recommend Cakes by Tammy. You will not regret it.

Cakes by Tammy was included in our wedding package through Holiday Inn, and boy are we glad she was!

Tammy worked well with us to tailor our cake just how we imagined it. We had found a design from another bakery and asked if she could accommodate, and she was more than willing with any of the designs we wanted! We went with a nice design that scrolled song lyrics around the tiers of the cake, and she was willing to make artistic suggestions for color and style modifications to make it just right. We were SO pleased with the final result. She even accommodated a unique request to put charms-on-ribbons under the bottom layer for the bridesmaids to pull out during the reception for luck. Just fantastic how flexible she was!

The cake itself tasted fantastic, as well, and Tammy provides a good assortment of options for the batter and filling (at other bakeries, they might charge for fillings or options other than the basics). We went with the almond batter and cherry filling, and it was tremendous!

Tammy was very friendly and seemed very happy to work with us to make the cake perfect. Even if she hadn't been included in the package deal, we would have gone to her bakery knowing what we know now. Highly recommended!

Tammy was such a joy to work with and gave us the wedding cake of our dreams - both in looks and taste. We found a design online and she was able to bring the exact design to life on our wedding day. I don’t know how working with Tammy could have been more fantastic. When we first met with her, she had two cakes for us to sample. Not slices – cakes. She prepared two cakes the size of the top tier of our wedding cake. While they were delicious, a couple of months later, I was plagued by indecision, and asked if she could provide additional samples for us to try. She made three more cakes for us, which ended up being so much cake that I had to bring the leftovers to my work, where my coworkers promptly devoured them. Tammy responded incredibly quickly whenever I had a question. (In other reviews, I have read that her phone response time is slow; I only communicated via email, and I often received a reply within an hour.) The cake she delivered to our venue was exactly what we had discussed during our meetings, and it was gorgeous. Most importantly, though – It. Was. Delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. If you have the opportunity to hire Tammy, do so.

I could not believe how delicious the cake was!!! I am not a big cake fan in general, but this blew me away. The cake itself was moist and sweet, without being overly sugary. The texture was perfect. The cost was VERY low, and we ended up with extra cake because the cake was larger than we anticipated. Tammy's cakes exceeded our expectations - we were very impressed.

Cakes By Tammy was my only choice for a wedding cake. I knew that I didn't have to try any other cake because I tasted her cake at my sister's wedding. I was only engaged for 2 months at the time, and we didn't get married until 2 and a half years later! My decision had been made. For me, I am not a cake eater by any means. However, at my sister's wedding, I ate THREE pieces! I was sold!

So, as I was planning my own wedding, I contacted Tammy about her availability probably a year OR MORE in advance because I wanted to make sure she was available! Thank goodness she was. She emailed me back in record time and set up our appointment to meet her to get cake samples. She actually encouraged me to get samples from other vendors. I told her ok even though I knew I wasn't going to. LOL!! I actually had a friend me instead of my husband and we couldn't wait to eat the cake. Our family was in from out of town, so we took the 3 sample cakes to his parents house and we all tried each one! The flavors were raspberry filled french vanilla, cinnamon swirl cake with caramel buttercream filling, and cinnamon swirl cake with pumpkin cheesecake filling! We COULDN'T DECIDE!! They were ALL AMAZING!! After I confirmed that she would be making our cake and I changed my original design that we drew up at the meeting, we started communicating to the point that I thought I was being bothersome! However, she always came back with a reply quickly and assured me that it was ok that I was sending her email after email.

My mother in law was trying to talk me into only having a small cake with sheet cakes along with it. I was not having that! I wanted the cake. How many people go to weddings and look forward to the cake??? I know a lot of people that do! Even though I rarely eat cake, I WOULD at weddings just to see what it is like, especially when I was planning my own wedding. So needless to say, I had a six tier cake! And I went with ALL THREE FLAVORS!!! Oh, and I ordered extra for family sticking around after the wedding! We changed one up a bit, we actually went with a french vanilla with raspberry swirl and raspberry mouse filling - recommended by Tammy herself! I am so glad that we went with it! We had guests telling the servers that people were actually sitting at empty seats just to get extra cake! We ate cake for days and I LOVED it (because I ordered extra). My favorite flavor was the cinnamon swirl cake with pumpkin cheesecake filling - it was to die for! And I requested that be our top tier so I can have it on our one year anniversary! Let me tell you, I can't wait.

I can only say wonderful things about my experience with Cakes By Tammy. I know that anyone that chooses her will be EXTREMELY pleased! When I have another reason to celebrate something with great cake, I will be contacting Tammy!!!

Tammy was our third try at finding someone to make our wedding cake. The two other places were terrible, trying to force a design and a flavor on us while charging us a fortune! Tammy came in and listened to everything we had to say, let us try a bunch of her incredible (I mean INCREDIBLE) cakes and gave us the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen. Tammy is wonderful! The taste of the cake was more important to me than its appearance, and Tammy definitely makes delicious cakes! She gave us two sample cakes with flavors of our choosing to try before we booked her, which was very helpful. For the design of the cake, I sent her a few photos and some color and shape preferences, and she wrote back with a sketch that was perfect. We communicated via email and she was very good at responding. The day of the wedding, the cake looked exactly as she drew it and it tasted just as good as her sample cakes. Tammy's pricing is also very reasonable. I would definitely recommend her!

Tammy's cake was amazing! One of our guests said that it was hands down the best cake she's ever had. I got tons of compliments on the cake. We had the almond batter with the raspberry mousse filling...delicious! We asked to make the icing slightly less sweet and it came out perfect. I just gave her a picture of the cake I wanted and she duplicated it! I first emailed her and she asked me what flavors I wanted to try and she brings you 2 mini cakes with those flavors. Not just a little bite size, but enough to feed 5-6 people! And then we wanted to try another flavor and she gave us another mini cake to taste. She can pretty much design anything...and not only that, her prices are great. Our filling was an upgrade, but even with that, the price was still cheaper than most places. You can't go wrong with Tammy!

Tammy made us a GORGEOUS and TASTY 4 tier, round chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing and filling with chocolate fudge detailing! I am getting hungry just thinking about it again!! We loved the cake and all of are guest are STILL 4 months later, raving that it was the best wedding cake they ever had! Even people who usually don't like cake thought it was delicious! It was very easy to work with Tammy...we communicated via email and she responded promptly to my messages and always answered any questions I had. She was also able to advise against the initial cake topper I wanted because she had worked with it before and had difficulty with it staying up, even with supports. This was really good for me to know so I could find another topper I liked. Also, the portion sizes of her cakes are very generous and you definitely get your money's worth! I definitely recommend Tammy's cakes to all brides out there looking for a really fantastic cake to make their wedding day sweet and special! Can't wait to eat the rest on our 1 year anniversary! My husband has already been trying to get me to let us eat it early : )

Tammy was actually a referral by a former co-worker of mine who was also very pleased with her cakes.

I was blown away by my cake when I saw it at the reception and received so many compliments from my guests as well. I chose a combination of several cakes on her website and it was more beautiful than I could have imagined! And delicious! In fact, we simply couldn't wait to eat our cake on our 1st anniversay so we had it the week after our wedding.

I chose a cake decorated with real flowers. I left my flowers for her at the reception site and let her work her magic with them. It really was stunning! I can't say enough great things about her.

And to top it off, her cakes are so affordable. If you live in the Pgh area, don't be afraid of the fact that she lives in Ohio. You won't be disappointed if you select Tammy to do your cake.

When my husband and I were working on planning our wedding, we originally thought that the cake was not a priority and would just get something affordable since we had over 350 guests. That was until I started looking through pictures of cakes and found one that I just had to have.
I started calling and emailing different bakeries and asked them if they could make me that cake, and what the price would be. A couple places said they couldn't make something quite like that, for different reasons, and others were sooo expensive!! One bakery was charging $7.50 for a slice of cake with fondant! For 350 guests that's just ridiculous!!
So I continued browsing websites and came across Tammy's. I was absolutely amazed by her work!! I just assumed, though, that we wouldn't be able to afford her because her cakes looked so expensive! I decided to email her anyways, and well... the rest is history!
She was so great to work with... very accommodating, friendly, creative, and professional. I showed her that first picture and we worked from there, given the other designs of the reception site. She sent me a couple sketches and really listened to what we wenated. What we ended up with was absolutely gorgeous! And not to mention delicious! We were able to get 4 different flavor combinations and each one was great! We had so many comments on the design and taste of the cake. I could not have been happier with it.

Not only was our wedding cake just perfect so was working with Tammy! She is so personable and passionate about making your cake exactly how you imagine. We had 5 different cake flavors and all were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend using Tammy for your wedding cake, it will be gorgeous and affordable, rest assured:)

Tammy did my cake for my wedding on May 22, 2010 and it was above any beyond my expectations. The cake was stunning! It was exactly what I wanted if not better than what I wanted. It was delicious!
Tammy made the ordering process so easy and so efficient that it was the last thing on my mind to worry about. I knew that I could trust her to make it fantastic and she did! In the future I would use her for other events and recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding cake or any other cake. I was so pleased and stunned by how amazing my cake was!

I have no complaints at all about Tammy! I planned my wedding from overseas, so it wasn't easy for me to meet with potential vendors, but Tammy was recommended to me by my DJ. I set up a meeting with her when I was in town, and she not only brought a portfolio of her work, but she made me 2 sample cakes which were VERY generously sized! I asked for one chocolate with buttercreme filling and frosting, and one French vanilla with strawberry filling and buttercreme frosting. That night, I split the cakes with my parents and my aunt and uncle, and we still had half of each cake left! They were so good and Tammy was so cool that I knew right away that I wanted to have her make my cake, but she insisted I look elsewhere and compare pricing before I decided. It didn't take me long to realize she was the most competitively priced, and I now knew the cake would be delicious. We planned the design via email while I was still overseas, and Tammy coordinated with my florist to arrange flowers for the top and sides of the cake. On the wedding day, the cake was the first thing I wanted to see at our reception, and I was thrilled with it! We did layers of both of the flavors I'd initially tried in sample cakes, and they were even better than I remembered! We had many comments about how good our cake was, and the price was just amazing. I HIGHLY recommend Cakes By Tammy!

Tammy's cake for our wedding was absolutely gorgeous and tasted DE-licious!!! The presentation was phenomenal, and she was such a joy with which to communicate. I would highly recommend her services to anyone!

Our wedding package included a cake, but my husband and I weren't fond of it. Instead, we chose to bring in an outside cake and after a long search, decided to go with Cakes by Tammy.

Tammy met with me in person and I gave her pictures of cakes I liked as well as a very... all over the place vision. She also gave us two small cakes to take home and try (as a tasting), and they were both wonderful!

We had tiers of chocolate and tiers of french vanilla, all with buttercream frosting and raspberry filling and our guests raved about the cake, as did we. It was delicious AND beautiful, and she managed to make my many ideas into one cohesive cake. Her pricing was fair and actually a lot better than many of the other vendors we spoke to and I thought the cake was tastier, too.

I've heard some horror stories about other people's cakes from other places... tipping over, coming apart when cut and served, being dry, etc, but none of those things happened with us and I couldn't recommend Tammy more.

Tammy is a true artist when it comes to wedding cakes! I met with her almost a year before our wedding and I had already picked out a cake design I liked from her website, one that I thought would fit perfectly with our theme. She picked my brain to make it personal to my husband and I, adding extra touches that made it "ours". The resulting sketch was perfect and I was so excited about it!

Then, about 3-4 months before our wedding, our theme changed (well, this bride changed her mind, if you want to know the truth ;-)) and the design Tammy & I had come up with no longer fit with our plans. So we then had to come up with something new, all of which we did through email communication. And I am here to tell you that the final product was BREATHTAKING! I have included a picture in my profile of or amazing cake, if you would like to take a look at her work.

We went from a highly designed cake to a very simple, elegant one, which had a satin ribbon surrounding each base, decorated with fresh cymbidium orchids. Tammy was wonderful at corrdinating with our florist to receive the orchids morning of the wedding so she could arrange them on the cake herself. The simplicity of the cake did nothing to take away from its utter beauty! We chose buttercream frosting (I don't care for fondant so much) but Tammy makes it so smooth that it LOOKS like fondant! So much so that everyone kept asking me if it WAS fondant! We chose 2 layers of french vanilla cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling (my favorite!) and one layer of french vanilla cake with raspberry filling (my Mom's favorite). It was by far the BEST cake I have ever eaten and we had a TON leftover! Tammy's portions are incredibly generous! We had cake to give all of our guests and even the amazing waitstaff at the PAA, where we had our wedding. Since we had a fairly small wedding, Tammy instructed our top layer not to be cut so we could take it home and freeze it for our 1st anniversary. Well, my hubby and I ended up sitting in the middle of our living room floor after the wedding & ate it together right out of the box! We just couldn't resist :-)

I would HIGHLY recommend Tammy for your wedding cake needs. I am beyond happy with what we received from her. She is truly talented at what she does, but is also sweet, professional and lots of fun to work with. She made me feel like a good friend, not just a customer. Thanks Tammy!

Tammy was a delight to work with. I stumbled upon her website while looking through wedding wire, and am so glad that I did. Not only is she incredibly friendly and easy to get along with, but she is flexible, responsive, and an incredible baker. We loved that we were able to take home the two trial cakes that she made us so that our family could test them out as well. The day of the wedding I loved how our cake was simple, yet elegant in appearance. And we received rave reviews from all of our guests. Thanks again to Tammy for helping make our day such a special one! I highly recommend this woman to any Pittsburgh brides out there!

Tammy met my family for a tasting and a consultation. Before we even booked her, she had made two fresh cakes so we could try her fillings. Her photos were gorgeous and so I booked her right away. Her prices are the lowest around, but yet her cakes are so nice.

She then drew up a cake design for me featuring the city skyline, a bridge, and our monogram. It went with our theme perfectly. I have never heard more compliments on a cake than I did that night! It was PERFECT. Tammy knows what she is doing.

She even has new flavors...ours were chocolate cake with mint chocolate filling, French vanilla cake with peanut butter filling, and red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. We even had extra cake leftover because Tammy's servings are so generous. She also is making us an anniversary cake for the first year, as we could not freeze our cake top due to a cross country move. I would never book anyone besides Cakes by Tammy. Perfection.

Tammy is a wonderful lady who bakes a good cake! She is very easy to work with, listens to her client, and aims to please. She is based in Ohio, but travels all over the area.. Our wedding was at the Embassy Suites near Pittsburgh, and she did a wonderful job. Our wedding cake was simply beautiful (and delicious)!

Tammy was absolutely wonderful to work with! Upon meeting with her we knew she had to be the one to make our wedding cake! She has quite the eye for design. At our meeting, I brought along pictures of cakes I liked, she then took those pictures and created the cake of my dreams! We also got to pick two cakes and fillings we would like to try. Wow! We were certainly impressed. The cakes were large enough that not only my husband and I got to sample them, but my parents did too! We were not very fond of the icing she used, but from reading other reviews on here I knew she had a secondary icing that she would use too. We requested to try the other icing and received another cake at no additional charge! The second icing was amazing!! We were sold! On our wedding day, the cake was beautiful! I have received so many compliments since the wedding about our cake. It was moist and tasted wonderful! I would highly suggest booking Tammy for your wedding!

Tammy was very easy to work with and was able to do exactly what we envisioned for our wedding cake. It was absolutely beautiful and everyone commented on how delicious it was. Tammy was also willing to make a special gluten free cake for my cousins since it was her birthday and she made an awesome Pens cake for my hubby.

Tammy is the BEST. Seriously. She was so incredibly great to work with, was easy to get in touch with, and both the design and the taste of her cakes are amazing! She adjusted the butter cream so it wasn’t too sweet for us and matched the monogram from our invitation on our cake. I also wanted flowers on the cake and the way she arranged the flowers made it SO gorgeous and elegant, we got so many compliments! We also got cupcakes and an ombre cake for our rehearsal and she did such an amazing job, our guests devoured them! You can’t go wrong with her strawberry mousse and almond fillings. Our wedding cake was so perfect, and it’s the one thing I sat down and ate in its entirety that day because it was just SO good!! We would work with her again without a doubt!

Our wedding cake by Tammy was delicious! We could choose from so many different types of cakes and fillings that we had a really hard time deciding. We ended up picking two different kinds and the cake as a whole looked so beautiful.

Pittsburgh wedding planners, if you have the ability to choose who makes your wedding cake, choose Tammy! After consulting with a couple other cake bakers in the area, I can say that Tammy's cakes are by far the best, and most affordable option in the area. We met with Tammy at a Pittsburgh hotel for our consultation, where she was helpful and open to our ideas for designs. She also had a huge book of prior cakes she had made for us to look through. She made us two small cakes with different flavors/fillings to try at home, and they were both excellent!

The cake was beautiful and elegant. We had a traditional white buttercreme cake with different fillings on alternating layers. Tammy created a really neat, modern design. The guests all loved it-- we had very little leftover. Tammy also included a complimentary anniversary cake for us, which we are looking forward to.

I did get the impression that Tammy was very busy (and I can see why), but she responded to all of my emails within a day or two, was always very sweet and enthusiastic, and really came through on our wedding day. Recommended very highly!

Tammy was amazing! She met us at my home to not only go over the cake design (which she totally mastered) but also to drop off two entire 6" cakes for us to try. I am NOT a "cake" person-- I normally don't even eat the stuff-- but "Tammy cake" is the best cake ever! We had a lot of our friends and family compliment us not only on the design of the cake, but the taste and flavors as well. Really-- when was the last time YOU wanted a second piece of wedding cake?! All of our cake was GONE by the end of the night and we had a four tier cake for about 120 people. :)

All around fabulous! Our only regret? She's now so popular that she only makes wedding cakes and no longer can make anniversary cakes. :( I guess we just have to get married again! :)

Tammy is amazing and so are her cakes! She was a dream to work with and absolutely ensured that you received the cake of your dreams. The cake stand that we rented from her was beautiful and her designs are fabulous! Tammy did a great job answering emails and making our cake what we wanted. The taste was great and the color/style was exactly what we discussed. Our only complaint was that our the icing began melting even before cocktail hour began, so our cake topper was crooked the whole time. The venue was indoors, so I wish there was a better way to keep the appearance of the cake up to the quality it should have been. Thanks Tammy, for the tasty cake.

Our cake was absolutely beautiful! She sketched out many different designs and helped me pick out the best one. I had many compliments on the cake and I heard it was very good! I can't wait to have some on our anniversary! The only reason why I didn't give her 5 stars for responsiveness was that she took a while to respond back to my emails but I am sure she was just busy with making other beautiful cakes. I highly recommend Tammy!

Tammy's cake was AMAZING!!! It looked beautiful and all 3 flavors tasted great! I LOVE the oreo buttercream filling becasue the oreo was so finely ground and smooth. Everyone kept asking if she used fondant (before they tasted it!) because of how smooth the buttercream was on the outside. It was absolutely perfect! Thank you, Tammy!!!

I chose Cakes by Tammy because I found Tammy's cakes to be the best combination of quality and value. Tammy does fantastic work with buttercream, which not only keeps the cost down, but also prevents your guests from having to pick off what would be pretty, but not-so-tasty fondant. Tammy is very sweet and was so easy to work with. I told her what I wanted and she was able to come up with a simple and elegant design that matched my wedding invitations. I thought the cake came out great and my guests certainly agreed. They all raved about how delicious it was. I would certainly recommend Tammy to make your wedding cake.

Our cake was so beautiful! She made our cake exactly how we desribed it, truly breathtaking. Not to mention the fact that it was by far the best wedding cake I have ever tasted. Absolutely Delicious! The cake was so moist, that when we went to cut the cake, the reception staff did not have forks there...they expected us to pick up the cake with our fingers, because it was so moist this was almost impossible, this cake is definitely meant to be ate with a fork :-) We did have a few communication problems, and there wasn't take home boxes at the venue like she agreed to, but other than that our experience was great. I would just recommend being very specific to your expectations and don't expect a response within the hour. That being said her cake was definitely worth it! In addition, she gives you two small trial cakes to take home--we had 12 people share in our cake testing and there was definitely enough cake for leftovers. After the reception, she does send a small anniversary cake home with you for free. I don't think we will be able to wait for our one year anniversary--we plan on eating it after our one month anniversary!
