Super easy and affordable desserts

Cakes by Lori was one of the easiest vendors to work with. We didn't meet her until 2 days before the wedding but between our emails, phone calls and her expertise, we had a cake and desserts just as we requested and they were delicious! Thank you, Lori!

Absolutely loved!

The cake was more than we could have hoped for! We had 5 different flavors and fillings and they were all delicious. Lori was wonderful to work with and we couldn’t be happier with our cake.

Beautiful AND Delicious!

Lori makes beautiful, delicious cakes! She gave us lots of flavor combination and decoration options, and helped us pick the best quantities for our guest count. She also decorated the cake with blooms from our florist, and it was breathtakingly beautiful! She bakes a replica of your top tier on your 1 year anniversary, so we were able to have the one she made for the wedding brought up to our room to snack on at the end of the night - we can't wait to have it again next year!

Cakes by Lori is great!

Lori is amazing! Super sweet, easy to talk to and really listens to what you want. For the tasting she brings tons of flavor options to mix and match. It was over all a great experience!

Lori is amazing!

Lori was amazing. She had made cakes for some family and first in the past and we knew she would be our first stop when looking for someone to make our cake. Her tasting was great and she took the time to answer all our questions and concerns. She has a binder full of pictures of past clients beautiful cakes for you to look at if you need some inspiration. She made this step in planning so easy.

She is so wonderful!

Lori created a Harry Potter wedding cake for us that we helped design. It was absolutely amazing and beyond our expectations and it was the centerpiece of our day! She really did extraordinary work and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing cake!!

In good hands

Lori was amazing. She took my vision and created a masterpiece. I shared with her how great everyone at my Renewal said the cake was and that by the time I took a break to eat a piece, it was all gone. She then promised to make me samples whenever I was in the area. She did! That was beyond the call of duty. I can't thank her enough. I recommend all my friends to her. She makes all my special occasion cakes.

Cakes by Lori did an amazing job on capturing my vision! We ordered a cutting cake for my husband and I to cut during our reception, and cupcakes for the rest of our guests! I wanted very clean, white and simple and Cake by Lori delivered just that! We loved our wedding cake and it tasted SO good! So many compliments from our guests! I highly recommend the lemon cake with raspberry filling (our cake) and our fan favorite cupcake was a white cupcake, with strawberry filling and Bavarian cream (tastes just like a strawberry shortcake)!

Our wedding cake was made by Lori. and she did such an amazing job! The cake was delicious, and she beautifully arranged florals on it (provide by Blossom's basket). Overall, would totally recommend Cakes by Lori to everyone! It was amazing.

Our wedding cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious! Lori did an excellent job and several of our guests even asked where the cake was from. Lori was easy to work with, flexible, had great rates, and the quality of cake was great. I would highly recommend Cakes by Lori!

Working with Cakes by Lori was a wonderful experience. We had a consultation in which we were able to taste different cakes and fillings as well as describe the design we were hoping for. We had a wonderful time. I also found the prices to be quite reasonable. The cake was absolutely delicious! The cake was delivered on time despite an unexpected snow storm. I would highly recommend to anyone!

When my original cake person had an emergency, Lori was willing to be a standby until we found out the status of our original cake. Lori ended up making our cake and it was beautiful, and all the layers were delicious. She communicated with us as much as we needed her to, and the end result was amazing! I would definitely use her again.

Lori is incredibly creative, talented, and easy to work with. She makes cakes that look and taste just like the super expensive boutique bakeries, but hers come at much more reasonable prices. She caters to the bride and groom to make their vision come to life. We wanted a trendy cake design that we first saw on Pinterest, and Lori was able to create exactly what we envisioned! All of our guests raved about our cake, especially the chocolate salted carmel combo!!

Lori was exactly what I was hoping for in a cake designer! I had some bad experiences with some of the other places around town, being condescending or just not wanting to take the time to talk with me. I was surprised by their attitude. Then I called Lori, it was like talking to that favorite Aunt that you love. I just knew by talking to her on the phone she was the one I wanted to use! She was available to meet with me right away, had amazing samples to try and extra to take home with me and was excited about the design I was wanting. She was so easy to work with and her cake tasted so great on the day of the wedding. I just knew I didn't have to worry about anything with her. I even have her business cards at my business (a local jewelry store) so when brides come I can recommend her! I wish I could post a picture of my beautiful cake!

Lori was incredible! She was very flexible and open to any ideas that I had for my cake and was so helpful when trying to decide cake flavors for our sheet cakes. Her prices were also very reasonable. I was confident that everything would turn out perfect, so that was one less stress on the day of! I would recommend (and do recommend) Cakes by Lori to anyone!

Lori was amazing. She was so accommodating in every way. We live out of town and Lori was great with scheduling. She worked around when we could into the champaign area. We even had the ribbon for our cake shipped directly to her, and when the ribbon wasn't long enough she went through her stock and found a replacement that worked great! Everyone loved how beautiful our cake was and even more so how flavorful. If you are getting married in the champaign area definitely give Lori a call!

I love LORI! She was so sweet, and she made my day extra sweet with her wonderful cake and cupcakes! She is one of the main reasons we booked with the Hawthorn, and I am still confident she was reason enough to book with them. Her gourmet cupcakes were such a hit of the wedding - s'mores, lemon raspberry, mint chocolate, reeses, strawberry cheesecake, and more...everyone enjoyed that and the cake looked beautiful, so much so that no one even noticed that our topper was missing! ha ha Really though...one of the best decisions you could make for your cupcakes!

We were not disappointed by our cake. My first impression when I saw it was that it was simply beautiful!! Lori and our Florist worked together to add flowers to the cake and it was a gorgeous display when they had finished. And we hadn't even tasted it yet! Words cannot describe how delicious the 5 different flavor choices were. I don't eat cake very often but made sure I had some of each! When I questioned the amount we had ordered, Lori didn't try to convince me to keep the order but was very willing to change to a smaller amount without hesitation. I appreciated her honesty and after working with her I know why she has the best reputation in town! Thank you Lori!

Cakes by Lori is awesome! The cupcakes were delicious-- maybe even the best I've ever had, and the set up was beautiful with our little red velvet cake for cutting! I HIGHLY recommend her, and highly recommend the red velvet, and the lemon cake with raspberry filling! Delish!

Lori was able to duplicate the exact cake my daughter wanted for her wedding. We showed Lori a picture of a cake, and she was able to design a cake to match the picture. Beyond looking amazing, the cake was delicious!!!

Lori is absolutely amazing to work with. She is incredibly responsive to her emails and makes you feel like you are a top priority. She was so flexible and understanding when my fiance and I had to reschedule our tasting due to his work schedule. The tasting itself was wonderful with many options and no pressure. She paid attention to our details and has a great personality. The cake tastes amazing!

Lori was the best person to work with for cake! She is also the most reasonably priced "cake lady" around! She was so flexible with me and even met with me outside of her normal hours because I was planning from out of state. After we had made the cake plans, I realized there would be far less people at the wedding than I had originally planned and was able to change our cake order/design a week before the wedding. It was absolutely great working with her!

We were BEYOND satisfied working with Lori for our wedding. She was easily one of our favorite vendors! She was soooo friendly and very patient answering any of our questions. We told her that we wanted something simple and she drew us out a sketch to let us know what the final product would look like. The cake itself was AMAZING! We ended up getting the pumpkin, apple spice, and carrot cake flavors and they were absolutely delicious. I was very surprised by this because it seems like 99% of the time, wedding cakes just look pretty but end up tasting pretty bland but this was definitely not the case. She even said that she would send us a replica of our top layer for our 1 year anniversary for free. Talk about amazing customer service! Lori was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her for your wedding cake.

Lori made our wedding cake, and it was the best wedding cake I've ever tasted. I had lots of compliments from guests about it! Lori is very responsive to emails (the main way I contacted her) and truly cares about fulfilling your vision for your cake. We went in not really knowing what we wanted, and she showed us pictures of her cakes and asked us what we liked or didn't like about them. Her prices are very reasonable and the quality is excellent!

Lori was an incredible help to me during my wedding. She was so gracious during the tasting/planning part of the cake process and she checked in with me several times over the months before my wedding. She totally took care of cake delivery without causing me any additional worry at all and when I walked into my reception after the ceremony I was just amazed to see my beautiful cake. It surpassed my expectations!! It was gorgeous and absolutely delicious. I would recommend Lori and her cakes to anyone.

Lori prepared a delicious, beautiful cake for our big day!

She was very professional and provided us good advice while meeting with us to plan our cake. The cake was very true to what we had planned with her, it looked wonderful and was exactly what we wanted. Guests had nothing but good things to say about how delicious it was.

Lori was great to work with. Meeting with her for the tasting was great as she's such a sweet person. Not to mention all of her cakes tasted fantastic and at a reasonable price! She was always very responsive via email which we really appreciated. On the day of our wedding, the cake looked exactly as we had envisioned and we got several compliments from people saying how good our cake tasted. I would recommend her to anyone!

I loved our cake! It was absolutely gorgeous and tasted delicious! Lori was very easy to get a hold of and was really flexible about communicating with me. We actually mostly communicated by email. I was so happy with our cake!

Wonderful lady to work with! Were able to taste all of the Cake flavors and frosting flavors before deciding, does a different flavor for each tier if you want. Cake and frosting is exceptionally delicious! Very professional and easy to work with! Cake was delivered at the time she said it would be!

My husband and I had a great time working with Lori. She was very friendly and professional and really went above and beyond to make sure our cake was perfect. We had fresh flowers for her to decorate the cake with and she did an amazing job! It was exactly how I imagined it. We were even able to enjoy our leftover cake when we got back from the honeymoon and it was just as delicious.

Lori Martin baked our cake for our wedding when she was still with IGA (which is no more). The cake was not only gorgeous and precisely what I asked for, but it was delicious too. The price range was perfect and we were so pleased with the outcome. My younger niece was staying at the hotel where our reception was held and her 13th birthday was the day after the wedding. Lori had a special cake made for her and delivered to her room and it was beautiful as well!

My husband and I had a really hard time finding someone that would make our wedding cake as special as we wanted it to be. We tried a few different places around the Champaign, IL area, but Lori stole our hearts the minute we walked through the door! She was so excited and willing to do whatever we wanted to make our wedding cake exactly what we had pictured, and I couldn't have asked fora better price. She was even gracious enough to do a surprise Green Bay Packers grooms cake after I decided last minute that I had to have one :) Lori went above and beyond to make our wedding cake spectacular, and that meant so much to us!

Lori did a great job making our cake and cupcakes for the wedding! She was recommended by our venue, the Hawthorne Suites (where her office is located), and we were not disappointed. Lori was occasionally a little slow to respond to emails, but her cakes were fantastic. Everyone was quite impressed with the beautiful and tasty work.

Lori did an amazing job on our cake. It was beautiful and tasted amazing. One of the great things she offered to do as well was to re make the top tier of our wedding cake for our one year anniversary so that we didn't have to freeze it.

Our Cake was delicious! We were able to create a simple cake custom to our wants and needs and Lori worked with us. Each tier was a different cake flavor and filling, while the icing on the cake was simply delicious! She also bakes a fresh top tier of the wedding cake at your 1 year anniversary so you don't have to keep a cake in the freezer for a year and eat a cake with touches of freezer burn! I find that fantastic! I also asked her, last minute, if she could make a personal sized cake for a guest who's birthday was on our wedding day, she was able to decorate the birthday cake beautifully and our guest was so suprised it made such a wonderful memory!

Our cake was delicious and was exactly as we had discussed. On the day of the event, when the cake was being delivered, it was discovered that it was too hot in the reception area and there was fear that the cake would melt. I had wedding coordinators who were taking care of it but the person who delivered the cake found me (the bride) and said "Well, the cake is going to melt, so I am going to have to take it back to the shop and bring it back later." (In a very disgusted voice). Not a very professional way to behave to the bride on her wedding day. In the end, everything turned out, but this is the one negative memory I have from our special day.
