Delicious and Beautiful

We chose Cakes by Kathy because of the quality and taste. I had originally picked out another vendor based on their relative celebrity status, but switched to Cakes by Kathy after my family and now husband kept raving about how delicious the cakes were at the tasting. The cakes were a little too sweet for my taste still (I'm not used to the South) and asked Kathy to cut back on the sugar content. It was absolutely delicious the day of the wedding and everyone loved the cakes. We ordered a 3 tier cake (6", 8", 10") and a grooms cake (8") for a party of 75 guests (not including vendors) and there was ample cake to feed everyone with seconds. With the delivery fee (about 40-50 min away), the total came out to be $554. We are so excited to try our topper again in a year!

So delicious!

We absolutely LOVED the lemon cake that Kathy made for our wedding! It was delicious and beautiful and all our guests absolutely loved it! The cake was amazing, and Kathy was excellent to work with. We would highly recommend Kathy to all! Thanks again!

Delicious cake!

Kathy did a wonderful job with our wedding cake! It was beautiful and all three flavors were delicious! We had lemon cake with blueberry filling, carrot cake, and peach chiffon with amaretto filling. Our guests raved about how good the cake was. Kathy was also very easy to work with, and I highly recommend her.

Kathy was amazing to work with! Her ability to create two DELICIOUS cakes exactly the way we described it to her was incredible. We were complimented left and right for how great our cakes looked, and those compliments quickly shifted to how amazing the cake tasted! Simple process! Beautiful cake!

Kathy provided the most beautiful cake (as well as the cutest cupcakes!) for my wedding reception! We received a lot of compliments on the cake and it tasted absolutely delicious! She is professional, reasonably priced, and very collaborative! The whole process of choosing a cake from day one to receiving the cake on the reception day went very smoothly with no hiccups! My family and I would highly recommend her and we wish her nothing but the best for her future endeavors!

Best Tasting Cake in Austin!

Kathy did an AMAZING job with our cake. She was very sweet and really brought our vision to life. We got SO many compliments on our cake and it tasted DELICIOUS. She was also by far the most reasonable baker we talked to and was incredibly accommodating to our budget and our needs. I couldn't recommend Kathy more!

If You Need A Cake THIS Is Your Lady!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If you need Affordable and Great tasting cake look no further! I was referenced to Kathy by my officiant and I was SO glad I was. Not only is her cake affordable, but it is absolutely DELICIOUS! The french vanilla cake with amaretto filling was to die for! I was lucky enough to be able to bring some home and it did not last long and I'm sure I've gained a little post wedding weight because of it! 😂 Worth it! Even my husband who "does not like cake" loved it!

Delicious cake!

Kathy was easy to work with and has a great selection to choose from! We had the French vanilla cake with strawberry jam and everyone loved it! We saved our top to freeze and eat on our one year anniversary and we can’t wait to have it again! She also has a great collection of photos of all of her cakes so you can get an idea of all that she can do!

The most delicious cake ever.

Kathy was SO NICE and did an absolutely fantastic job making our cake. The thing that really sets her cake apart from others is how flavorful and delicious both the icing and cake are. We got a cake with chocolate cake and Bailey's cream (YUM omg) and then vanilla with fresh raspberry filling. Both were INCREDIBLE and our guests were raving! We will for sure be going back to get a small cake for our 1 year anniversary.

Tasty, affordable, beautiful

Kathy is the sweetest person ever! She kindly fit in an appointment to accommodate us since we lived 3 hours away. During our visit, she showed us her portfolio and provided tastings which reassured us she was the best pick for our wedding cake/cupcakes. She was flexible in providing both options, since we aren’t enormous cake fans, which allowed us to choose a spice cake with cream cheese frosting and vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. When we saw it on the wedding day, the cake was absolutely gorgeous and it tasted even better! We recommend Kathy to everyone, including her affordable pricing options. You cannot go wrong with her!

Kathy made our wedding cake and it was absolutely perfect! She was so great to work with too! We met with her, unsure of exactly what we wanted and she had several albums full of prior cakes she had made to give us ideas. We customized our cake from her samples and chose one of her many delicious flavors. On the wedding day, she delivered the cake and it looked beautiful and tasted even better! Kathy made the most beautiful and delicious cakes for me and my husband. The groom's cake was devoured so quickly and the bride's cake only didn't go as fast because there was just so much of it! Kathy helped us design the perfect cakes to represent each of us and even accommodated a special request to make the groom's cake represent the Air Force for my husband. Both turned out so amazing!

We absolutely loved our wedding cake and the grooms cake Kathy created for us! We met Kathy at a bridal expo and were loved her cake samples. They were our favorite of the whole show, so we were super excited when we learned how affordable she was. This was one of the areas we came in under budget thanks to Kathy. We hired Kathy fairly last minute after another baker fell through and could not be happier with the cake we got for our wedding. We ordered a simple but decorative three-tiered cake with a layer of the vanilla bean with buttercream frosting, a layer of red velvet with cream cheese frosting and a layer of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. They were all amazing. We were so happy with how it turned out and Kathy was super sweet and easy to work with.

Kathy really delivered on our cakes. My wedding cake was just as I imagined. She got every detail on it down to the T. The flavor was amazing as well. The guests were raving about it days after our wedding!! The grooms cake was just as awesome. It was chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, which all appreciated. Both cakes were more than we could have ever dreamed of and we can't wait to eat our top layer, on our first anniversary!!

After our venue, our cake provider was the first thing we booked. We went to the Austin Bridal Extravaganza and sampled cakes from probably a dozen different vendors. Kathy was the clear stand-out and immediate choice. Her cake is delicious, and not dried out like you sometimes get with wedding cakes. And she only uses buttercream frosting, not fondant, which was a must for us. She's super friendly and easy to work with, and has so many flavors of cake and filling to choose from that it was hard to narrow down. We ended up doing 2 different flavor combinations, and also renting a cake stand from her. She was very accommodating in changes made to the cake design, and the final result was beautiful (and delicious!). We chose to save/freeze our top layer, and very much look forward to again having some in a year!

Kathy is wonderful. She is a lovely person and her cakes are absolutely the best tasting and the best value for money in Austin. Unlike a bakery where they have huge overheads to cover and therefore charge you more, Kathy keeps her overheads low by baking the cakes in her home. She made the wedding cake for our dear friends and for our wedding as well and all our guests kept complimenting us on how wonderful it was! It was also beautifully decorated, just as we had asked. I cannot recommend her enough.

Cake tasting was definitely a day to look forward to in our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding planning journey. They had five appointments in one weekend, and Kathy’s cakes and pricing were by far the best quality. Even five days after the wedding, the left-overs taste as moist as they did the day the cake was served. And, all the details our daughter dreamed to make her cake special – different flavors for every layer, the lyrics to her wedding dance song written in icing, placing flowers on each layer – were done at no additional cost! These details were all an extra expense at other bakeries. Virtually any flavor we could imagine was among Kathy’s offerings, and it was hard to narrow our favorites down to the five we selected. Kathy was delightful to work with, and one of the few vendors who called us to confirm her delivery, rather than waiting for us to check in the week of the wedding. The next time I need a cake for a special occasion, I will go straight to Kathy – going anywhere else would be a waste of time and money.

We attended 3 Bridal Extravaganzas throughout 2 years and when it came closer to our wedding, we realized at the last Bridal show, the cake vendor we looked forward to the most was Kathy's cakes. They were so moist, and tasteful! So we set up a time and date to meet for a free consultation and decided then and there are minds were made up and we wanted Kathy's CAKE! On such short notice (about 2 months or less from the wedding we ordered) and she worked with us on getting it delivered, we chose a
3 tier Round cake, Blush Pink Ombre Style, Served 125 people, white- vanilla cake, strawberry filling with a buttercream frosting. It was amazing! and Beautiful, our guests raved the entire Reception over the delicious cake! And it was competitively priced to outmatch any competition. We were quoted the exact cake for $800 elsewhere and their cake was not nearly as moist as Kathys. You cannot go wrong with any of her selections, they are all delicious. We cannot wait to open up our top piece for our anniversary. We will be returning to Kathy to order our special occasion cakes from Kathy for years to come and we will definitely be referring friends and family to her.

Kathy of Cakes by Kathy made the beautiful and delicious wedding cake and groom's cake for our wedding on Friday, March 13, 2015. I really believe that I have not tasted a more delicious cake anywhere! When I first tasted Kathy's lemon cake during an open house at her venue in Round Rock, I was blown away. Then I went down to the Austin Convention Center for a Bridal Extravaganza, and out of all of the other bakeries there (and there were MANY), Kathy's french vanilla cake blew them all out of the water! At that point, I knew for sure that I wanted to go with Kathy for our wedding cakes! She was so easy to work with, very responsive when I had questions, and produced two beautiful cakes for our big day that we will always remember fondly. We had the venue save the top tier for us, but the cake was so good that, embarrassingly, we decided to eat it all the week after the wedding instead of put it in the freezer for our one year anniversary! Oh well, I guess we'll just have to have Kathy make us another cake in a year! :) Thank you, Kathy, for sharing your remarkable talent with us for our wedding day!

Kathy's cake was a hit! We had a layer of french vanilla with peach, and chocolate with caramel pecans! The cake was elegant and very moist! When we first met her she was very kind, sweet, and listened to what our style was. We're saving the top tier for our first anniversary and I feel it is going to be a long year waiting. My husband, Brian, and I got married on March 22nd at Kindred Oaks in Georgetown, Texas. At one of Kindred Oaks’ open houses, we met Cathy and tasted some of her cakes! They were so moist and delicious. They tasted very fresh! I decorate cakes (mostly as a hobby, sometimes I sell them) on the side and know how much work goes into a wedding cake! Her rates are VERY reasonable because she works out of her home in Pflugerville. We went to her house to do an official tasting and to pick out a design. Her cake tasted much better than many of the more expensive bakery cakes we tasted and they looked great! We chose a simple rosette design and our cake was vanilla with fresh strawberries and cream in between the layers, and a cream cheese icing. Our guests were very happy with the cake and it was all gone at the end of the evening! I will definitely use her in the future for my cake needs!

Cakes by Kathy was recommended to me by a friend who told me that even a year after her wedding, people were STILL raving about how good their cake was. Upon hearing this, I immediately called Kathy to set up a tasting. I went to her house and had the most difficult time deciding! I ended up choosing a french vanilla cake with fresh raspberry filling. Out of all the tastings that we did, Cakes by Kathy tasted the best and was also one of the most affordable. Absolutely, hands-down the BEST wedding cake I have EVER had. We went with a white chocolate flavored, raspberry filled wedding cake and a yellow butter cake with milk chocolate filling and frosting for the grooms cake. They were so moist and delicious. I gave her a picture and she made the wedding cake look exactly the way I wanted. None of the bigger bakeries we did tastings at held a candle to hers. I will never order a cake from anywhere else again! If you want a great wedding cake, go with Kathy!!!

I have to make the disclaimer that I actually don't like cake and don't eat it very often. That being said, this review is from all of our wedding guests :)

We ordered a beautiful 3-tier wedding cake from Kathy with gorgeous iced rosettes covering the outside. Other cake vendors had refused to attempt this design but Kathy was happy to accept the challenge. Our cake was gorgeous and surpassed all my expectations.

We ordered a french vanilla cake with cream cheese icing. I cannot tell you how many guests have taken the time, to bring up on their own, to my husband and I - how delicious the cake was. I did notice when we cut into it that it was wonderfully moist and everyone is raving that it was the best wedding cake they've had.

I cannot thank Kathy enough for giving our guests the best dessert - I will never forget how happy the cake made them!

The cake that Cakes by Kathy provided to us was one of the most delicious cakes I had ever eaten (and I bake a lot!). She was very easy to work with, allowing me to make changes about a week before the wedding. The cake was set up on time, and was beautiful to look at!

Even though I only got a few bites of our cake on the day of, it was completely gone by the end of the night! I was told by all of my guests how delicious it was, and I am looking forward to our one year anniversary so that we can eat our top layer!

Absolutely wonderful cake. We had French vinilla brides cake and red velvet for the grooms cake. All the guest kept asking who had made the cake! They arrived and set up on time and had decorated my cake with sunflowers even better than I had thought. Everything was amazing beautiful work and amazing tasting cake!

We found Kathy at the Austin wedding show as her cake was by far the most moist and she was the easiest to deal with. Her website is perfect and you will find exactly what you will need. On the day of the wedding my guests were not dissapointed! They said both the grooms cake and the wedding cake was the moistest cakes they have EVER eaten. This speaks volumes that what we tasted at the wedding show was not a one time thing. She brought the cakes to my venue and provided cake boxes. I will ALWAYS refer Kathy!!

Cakes by Kathy is a fantastic choice for wedding cakes. Kathy truly is a cake artist, and she knows how to create beautiful cakes for bride or groom. She knows how to do so much and has many examples you can look through if you're not quite sure what kind of cake you want. For our wedding we got both a bride's cake and a groom's cake, and they were both beautiful. Even better, they tasted delicious, and everyone really enjoyed them.

My cakes were beautiful and scrumptious. Kathy delivered and set up the cakes on time...my white cake had raspberry filling and was wonderful! The Groom's cake was chocolate with dipped strawberries and it was also great.

I got so many compliments on our wedding cakes! Kathy's cakes are fresh and delicious. We got a rasberry filling for the Bride's cake and it was a gorgeous color and the best I have tasted. Kathy is very easy to work with and once the cake flavors were picked, I didn't have to do anything else!

I was so happy I went with Kathy! Her cakes were the best I have ever tasted. And, I'm not just saying that because it was my wedding. All my family and friends commented on how moist and flavorful my cakes were. I got the classic French Vanilla with a bavarian cream filling for my cake and my husbands cake was a chocolate with caramel filling and drizzle. And the decorations...they were so pretty! I was so pleased at how pretty both cakes were! Mine had a different decoration on each tier and flowers on the top. It looked very elegant, just the way I wanted it. My husbands cake had caramel drizzle and some berries scattered on top. Everything was beautiful! Just what we wanted!!! If you want a great tasting cake that looks beautiful...go to Cakes by Kathy!!!

Kathy’s cakes are so delicious! I looked long and hard for a baker that would actually use buttercream frosting (every other baker is mad about fondant these days—looks cool, but tastes terrible!). Not only does she offer many different buttercream flavors, she bakes the most incredible cakes in many different flavors. Everyone went nuts over our red velvet wedding cake. She also has amazing rates, and her delivery fee was really reasonable. She’s so nice and easy to work with. At our tasting, she brought out album after album of pictures of past wedding cakes—she can do practically anything you ask for. I loved that our wedding cake didn’t taste like typical wedding cake. It tasted just like a homemade cake should—moist, buttery, and flavorful. You can tell that Kathy uses quality ingredients (and butter, not shortening!) in her cakes. Guests were going back for seconds and thirds! Oh, and the cake was absolutely beautiful. We loved it and were so glad that we found her.

Our cake looked so pretty we didn't want to cut it, but after the first bite, it was sure to be all gone by the end of the evening. Kathy has some kind of magic in her hands, I never tasted a cake so delicious. We just couldn't save the cake topper, guess we'll have to order another one in a year.

Cakes by Kathy makes the most beautiful cakes that actually taste incredible too! After visiting some highly priced boutique bakeries, my husband and I were getting frustrated with our cake search. Meeting with Kathy was like a breath of fresh air! She handles all the aspects of her cakes, from consultation to delivery and does all of them professionally and with flexibility! She worked with us to make exactly the cake I had in mind! Our guests were so impressed that such a beautiful cake could be so delicious! Because Kathy specializes in cakes and works from home, her cakes are fresh and never frozen-which makes a huge difference! I can't wait until our first anniversary when we can bring out the top tier!

I love Kathy! She was awesome to work with. She made my cake and my husband's cake for our wedding last weekend. We received lots of compliments on how good the cake was, and I completely agree with them! My cake was a spice cake with cream cheese icing and my husband's cake was french vanilla with oreo filling. His cake in particular was unbelievably moist! Kathy is also very sweet and easy to work with. She has lots of pictures of her past work and is very accommodating about requests.

BEST CAKE IN AUSTIN!! Cakes by Kathy is THE BEST cake I have ever eaten. My husband and I saved our top tier for our one year anniversary but I am not sure we will be able to wait that long to eat it. Every single piece of cake for our wedding was eaten (luckily our venue saved us several pieces to eat later that night). We had multiple guests go back for seconds and so many of our guests came up to our parents at the end of the night and told them that our cake was the best wedding cake they have ever had!

The pricing for the cake was extremely reasonable, especially compared to other cake vendors we interviewed. In fact, it was the cheapest quote we got! The cake design was more beautiful that I could have imagined! I was so impressed with Kathy's design. It was exactly what I wanted, and more.

She can be a little hard to get a hold of sometimes. I did have to call multiple times to get my final cake design set as well as the final payment completed, but in the end, we were nothing but happy with our cake!

Kathy's cakes are the best in the city and many other places would agree! If you book your wedding at Chateau on the Creek (her venue) a bride AND grooms cake is included in the venue cost. There isn't a tier system you have to worry about either! Our cakes were beautiful and delicious. Everyone raved about them. Do yourself (and guests) a favor - choose Cakes by Kathy!

As soon as I took one bite of a cake by Cakes by Kathy, I was sold. I've tasted her cake at 3 weddings I've attended, including my own, and they are by far the best-tasting wedding cakes I've ever had. We had a vanilla cake with raspberry filling, and EVERYBODY loved it. I do wish she had an email to contact her by, but she is very responsive, and she is a kind and fun person to work with as well. I'm very happy with the design she came up with after describing to her what I was thinking. In fact, I asked her to make sugar flowers for the cake instead of real ones, which is different than what you see in the pictures on her website, and she still did a great job. There is no vendor I recommend more enthusiastically than Cakes by Kathy!

Our cake was gorgeous and delicious! I really appreciated that Kathy listened to me so well during the consultation. She gave me advice from all of her experience, but listened to what I wanted and let me make the decisions. Our cake was beautiful, exactly how I had pictured it and delicious! We are still eating leftovers after a week and they are still delicious and moist! Now that's good cake!

Kathy's cakes are so moistened and flavorful. The icing is amazing as well. No fondant used. She has a variety of flavors and styles to choose from. Having her deliver and set up cakes at my venue was one less thing I had to worry about.

The best cake you will ever have! Seriously, we tried every cake at the Austin Bridal Extravaganza, and kept going back to Kathy's booth to try more. Kathy may not have the typical "fondent" design, but seriously, those cakes just look cool, they never taste good. And actually, our cakes looked awesome! I come from a family of 8 aunts, who are all very picky and they approved of the cakes beauty. We had the vanilla with butter cream and the chocolate with chocolate icing. We had some leftovers and warmed them up a week later and it was still delicious, I can't wait for our anniversary cake! Also, Kathy's cakes are a great rate if you are a bride on a budget.

Kathy's cakes are DELICIOUS! We first tasted her cake at the Bridal Extravaganza and my mom, my mother in law, my husband and I all fell in love. We even remembered that cake after a LONG day of walking around, tasting lots of cake, and being completely overwhelmed with information! That's how we knew it was the perfect cake.

Picking out our cakes was so easy. She had lots of pictures to look at and charges by the slice rather than design. She even worked with us and our Alma mater to get our college mascot on the grooms cake. All of our guests raved about how good the cake was and how moist it was. (We had the french vanilla with cream cheese and strawberry filling for the wedding cake and the chocolate fudge with chocolate fudge filling and chocolate covered strawberries for the grooms cake).

We will DEFINITELY being using Kathy for cakes in the future and would recommend her to everyone!

Great Cake, Keep the Design Simple

First, let me say that Kathy's cakes have exceptional flavor and density. It was recognized by many at the wedding for being a well made cake. Kathy is wonderful and sweet to work with. I also found her cakes to be of great value for not only the product but in relation to other local bakers. That being said, I did give Kathy unique request of doing a marble effect in the buttercream frosting and I was quite disappointed upon it's appearance because it was not similar to the image provided. Instead of marble lines, they were just lines. Even so, I wish her the best.

Our cake was beautiful, and exactly what we asked for. I honestly would love to say more about the taste, but the day was such a blur I hardly remember. But our cake was beautiful, at a competitive price, delivered on time, and people seemed to like it!

When you choose your cake, you just go to Kathy's house, which is a little weird, but fine. And she's not the greatest at email, so calling her if you have a questions is usually the way to go.

Kathy was great! I found her at the Bridal Extravaganza in Austin.

The only reasons I'm not giving her the full 5 stars is the final look of the cake wasn't quite what I wanted and I really wished that should would provide an email address for communication. But, given the supplies and budget that she worked with, the cake looked fine, and most importantly, it tasted wonderful!! We got so many praises from our guests!

Also, like many of the other budget-friendly cake studios, Kathy is not located in Central Austin, which is not the most convenient. But, as I had already tasted the cakes at the Bridal Expo, I was fine with not going out to have another tasting.

Overall, Kathy always returned my calls, the cake was delivered and set up promptly, and it was a great tasting cake for a great price! I would definitely recommend Cakes by Kathy!

Kathy's cakes were amazing. We used her for the Wedding cake as well as the Groom's cake and both turned out just like we had imagined them. Kathy was fabulous. She was easy to work with and accommodated all of my requests. She even gave me her cell phone number in case I wasn't able to reach her at home. My cake was five tiers, each with a different design that I was able to pick out or create on my own. For one of the layers I had her write the lyrics to 'our song'. It looked absolutely gorgeous. I chose french vanilla with strawberry filling and the groom's cake was chocolate with bailey's Irish cream moose filling. Delicious!! We supplied decorations for the grooms cake- my husband wanted a Maine theme, which looked fabulous. The cake went so fast the only piece he got was during our cake cutting.

We tasted many cakes at the Bridal Expo and found that we liked Kathy's due to the frosting sample not being very sweet and the cake sample being moist. We sent a deposit to keep the date and then at our tasting meeting we contracted for a 6" on an 8" serving 30 people (saving the top) and the total cost with delivery was $175. It was $120 for the cake and $55 for delivery to Sleepy Hollow neighborhood in Austin. This was a white on white cake covered in swirls that look like flowers.

Responsiveness: I'd left a couple of messages where I didn't hear back for days. I think it was just an oversight.
Value: Any colorful sugar/frosting flowers would be an extra cost. Kathy said it would be less expensive to buy real flowers for it. I thought decoration of frosting/sugar flowers would be included. She also said if I bought my own cake stand at Hobby Lobby (40% off) it would be cheaper than renting one from her. I was also surprised to hear that it would cost $55 to have the cake delivered to S. Austin. Since we decided to buy our cake from her, and didn't want to put it together on site ourselves, we paid it.
Flexibility: The cake tasting appointment surprised to the point that we nearly changed our mind about buying our cake from her. We were pretty sure we wanted chocolate with raspberry filling but wanted our options open in case we didn't like her particular filling flavor. However, we weren't allowed to pick the flavors that we'd have at the tasting. We were told we'd get the flavors that she'd made that week for other cakes and we'd need to imagine what ours would taste like considering the textures and moistness we encounter with what we did taste. She said if we needed to taste the type of cake we wanted to buy for our wedding, we'd have the option of purchasing a small cake to taste for an additional $25.

Overall, the cake was beautiful, delivered on time, and tasted great.

Kathy is so sweet and her cakes are VERY delicious!! I don't know how she makes them so moist. She is very professional and you can rely on her to do a good job. Her prices are more affordable than other cake bakers, but the cake you get is better than some of the big name bakers in Austin. She worked with our budget and found an option that worked for us! The biggest selling point, in my opinion, for Cakes by Kathy is that the cakes are DELICIOUS and they are also affordable. Her price point is lower than most of the places in town. I sampled a few other cake vendors and they did not compare to how moist and delcious Kathy's cakes are. That being said, I thought the brides cake was beautiful, but the groom's cake I wished had turned out more like the picture I had given her. I had dropped off some light khaki color ribbon to go with the chocolate, and by the time we got to the reception, the ribbon was soaked through so it was no longer light colored but blended into the cake. I think she does a great job with traditional cakes - intricate icing, etc, but I would say if you want something more modern and artistic, it may be worth paying a little extra. If all you desire is a delicious cake, then I would definitely recommend Kathy.

Not What We Expected

I’m giving Kathy a low review because when my wife first found Kathy at the Austin bridal extravaganza, which was a year before our wedding; she told me about this cake that was to die for and we did not receive what we expected on the wedding day. I knew we had found the one because my wife isn’t a fan of sweets, so when she tried Kathy’s cake and loved it; I was also eager to end the cake hunt. At first Kathy was great at communicating. My wife and her only ever spoke through text. She never received a meeting or a consultation about what was expected when it came to cake decoration at the venue. The cake we received at the wedding did not represent the picture we had given Kathy and instead it was just a white cake and the coordinator had to tear apart a bouquet to decorate it. While reading their texts, I realized she wasn’t clear about us providing our own floral, and so she just left an undecorated cake. The second thing wrong about the cake was the flavor. The flavor of the original cake that we tasted was not the same as the cake that we had at our wedding. We had 4 people who had tried it before and all four of us did not recognize the taste, because it hardly had any filling, so it was very disappointing. The only solace was that some of our guests thought the cake tasted good, while others thought it was too sweet. Our cake was supposed to be french vanilla with a strawberry cream cheese filling, some guests however kept complementing us on the almond flavor of the filling. To conclude, it was disappointing to not have the same flavor, and unclear instructions, even though we asked numerous times if there were any details that we needed to know for the day of the wedding.
After our wedding my wife contacted Kathy to let her know of not only our dissatisfaction, but of our family and those who knew what they were suppose to be tasting. She was met with an apologetic Kathy at first, but then afterwards was given a cold shoulder. I do not wish to hurt Kathy’s business because she has good tasting cakes, and I know she can do a fantastic job because we have tasted it, BUT that is not what we received and she did not seem to care when she didn’t deliver her best to us, in our opinion.

My wedding cake was beautiful and tasted really good. However, my grooms cake was a joke. If you want a good groom's cake I would not reccommend her. All the cakes tasted well and were yummy. However, the groom's cake was what my husband really wanted on our wedding day. When I saw the cake I was embarrassed that it looked like it did. It was two layer chocolate cake, that was supposed to be a golf cake. It had a blue ugly glob running over it, that was supposed to be water and a little golfer on top that you could buy at a party store. I could have made this cake. It made the grocerie store cakes look professional. If we would have seen the groom's cake earlier we would have tried rushing and getting a new one. The sad thing was that my mom talked to her 3 days before the wedding and she said she had everything under control and we would have a great cake, obviously that wasn't the case. It's too bad that this happened, because my cake looked lovely. She was also bad at getting back with me when I contacted her. Make sure that you know what you are getting when you book her or you may be in for a surprise.

Horrible. Don’t use her

The cake was good, yes. However I sent her what I wanted weeks before my wedding with no response, so I sent her an email a week before my wedding asking her if she needed anything from me, no response. She delivered my cake with NO FLOWERS . Just a plain cake despite my specific request. My florist (just in roses ) was amazing and took care of all this. Thankfully I didn’t even know if Kathy’s failure until after my wedding because just in roses took care of it all
