Gifted hands…truly delicious.
It’s been some time (2018)…Cakes by Kasarda (Owner: Tammy Pilch) did an amazing job for our wedding. A beautifully crafted and perfected red velvet, layered with her own blend of raspberry jam and topped with a decadent layer of REAL cream cheese. Our cake was draped in silk. Our wedding cakes was elegant, delicious, and moist. We’ve celebrated anniversaries with a smaller version and birthdays with cupcakes. Tammy was a delight to work with and chat with. I hate that the business is now closed/retired. She was truly the best to work with…friendly and professional with gifted hands and a wonderful craft. Love the Teachey’s!

The best and delicious
Cakes by Kasarda was by far our favorite vendor for our wedding! We got our wedding cake, cannolis, chocolate covered strawberries cookies and she even added banana pudding bites that weren’t even on her menu. Everything was delicious and a huge hit.

Outstanding Quality and Attention to Detail
We were thrilled with our 'Chesapeake Bay Steamed Crab' themed groom's cake for our son's wedding. Tammy embraced our vision for a cake that would pay homage to the groom's hometown of Baltimore and our affinity for steamed crabs, Ravens football and good times with friends and family. The cake was a huge hit and I am so happy with how it all turned out. Tammy is amazing and a joy to work with. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone.

Most delicious cake EVER
Wow! We had some cake connoisseurs at our wedding and they unanimously agreed that this was the BEST cake they have ever tasted. I usually despise red velvet cake, but somehow I ended up falling in love with the red velvet cake with a cookies and cream filling. Just typing this review is making my mouth water. If you want the most beautiful and tasty cake in the world, you've found the right baker!

Wonderful Wonderful!!!
Tammy’s cake and cupcakes were the “Icing on the top” of a most wonderful day! This was a destination wedding for our daughter who lives in Austin, so my husband and I were privileged to get to meet Tammy and do the tasting of cakes fillings and frostings. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! We could not decide on three cupcake flavors, so we added a fourth. Since none of our family lives in. Charleston, we were pleased how responsive Tammy was by e-mail.
The wedding was 2 days ago. Everything was more beautiful and every bit as delicious as we expected. My only regret was not being to hug Tammy and thank her in person!

Sweet Perfection!
From our initial tasting, I knew Cakes by Kasarda would be a sweet addition to our special wedding day!!
All of her cake and icing flavors were absolutely delicious! There is truly a flavor for everyone! We chose your classic vanilla and chocolate for the base tier and the sweet potato for the top tier. The sweet potato and honey cinnamon filling was AMAZING!
Tammy is a pleasure to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and talented. Her years of talent and cake skills are out of this world. You will not be disappointed.
I highly recommend Cakes by Kasarda for your wedding and special event needs! Yum!!

I would highly recommend Cakes by Kasarda. Tammy so easy to work with and she perfectly executed our dream wedding cake! Both Tammy and the Cake Were Amazing!
My daughter and her fiance were so impressed with Tammy and her cake! As a cake lover, I had been looking forward to 2 or 3 cake tastings, but Tammy was our first and last. She had a number of flavors for us to taste and it was very obvious that she had her stuff together.
Before we got off her porch, Jess and Grant had decided they wanted Tammy to bake their cake. Jessica gave Tammy a picture of a cake she liked, and was as excited about the cake as she was her dress!
On the wedding day, Tammy came through with a gorgeous and delicious wedding cake. We cannot say enough great things about her (and her cake, of course!)

Beautiful 50th Anniversary Cake!
I worked with Tammy to create a cake for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was exactly what I had envisioned - it was beautiful and delicious. The cake fed my entire extended family for an entire week and was very reasonably priced. Tammy was very responsive and delivered the cake to us on time. She is very professional. I would definitely use her again for future events.

A Plate Full of Cake? Yes, Please!!
My wife and I ordered two cakes from Cakes by Kasarda due for pickup at their bake shop within three days of each other. One of them was my birthday carrot cake and the other one was a Canada Day red and white velvet cake with an edible flag inside the cake. The presentation of both cakes were exquisite. Both of these cakes were the most scrumptious, creamy, and oh so appetizing desserts that we have had this year. Kudos to the pastry chef/owner, Tammy! You did an outstanding job! Last but most importantly not least during this COVID-19 Global Pandemic, Cakes by Kasarda follows CDC guidelines, i.e., wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing, and using hand sanitizer, regardless if it is a delivery or pickup.

Our dream wedding cake
Tammy was absolutely wonderful to work with and baked/designed a delicious and beautiful wedding cake for us. From our initial inquiry, to tasting, to the wedding everything went smoothly and Tammy made the process extremely easy, especially considering we were planning our destination wedding from Florida. Tammy was able to do 2 layers of strawberry cake and a layer of lemon (because both were so delicious we couldn't decide) and the design was exactly what we wanted based off one single photo we showed her. Bravo!

Tammy did such an amazing job with our wedding cake. She was so easy to talk to and really brought my vision to life. I also had her help me with a surprise groom cake and it looked amazing! Everyone at the rehearsal dinner and wedding talked about how amazing the cakes tasted. I’m usually not fond of wedding cakes but this cake was so delicious! Tammy was also sweet enough to bring me cupcakes as a sweet addition to our wedding cake when she thought she had forgot to add in red velvet for the grooms cake layer. I would highly recommend her! I live in Charlotte, NC, and the groom’s cake for my nephew that I custom ordered for the Charleston, SC, rehearsal dinner turned out perfectly. Tammy communicated promptly and continuously and absolved any reservations that I had about working with a baker from a a distance away. She created an exact replica of the cake design that I sent her and even gave me the contact information to order the figurine needed. I was especially pleased with the delivery from her bakery to the restaurant site. With all the rehearsal dinner details, it was such a relief to have the cake delivered. Our guests and family can't stop talking about our wedding cake (2 weeks later)...b/c it was delicious. Tammy was such a sweetheart and professional to work with. Tammy was responsive via email and phone, she priced out my design and one of her own creations that I loved on her website. I lived 3 hours away and arranged for my fiance to pick up a tasting box for us. It just happened to be the same week that Hurricane Florence was supposed to hit Charleston....so when my fiance evacuated to my house..he brought the tasting box with him.☺️ The tasting box made it easy for us to do our complete a tasting together...we were able to mix and match the flavors, fillings and icings to create our own combination. We fell in love with the Red Velvet Cake, Cream Cheese and Fresh Rasberry filling topped with Italian Buttercream icing. She provided the cake stand for a small fee and offered to find one if I didn't like it. The one on hand was perfect and saved me from having to search for anything else. Thank you Tammy from us both for such a delicious and beautiful wedding cake. We froze a few slices for two weeks and enjoyed them on New Year's.....it was just as delicious and moist. *** This is a birthday cake review not a wedding cake review. Tammy did my sons birthday cake for us, we were coming from Columbia the weekend of his 11th birthday to see a Stingrays game. I worked with her via the internet, made my order and picked it up when we arrived in Charleston. She made the most amazing cake(s) for him! Not only were they decorated to perfection, she also made 3 smaller cakes for his cousins who would be joining us for the birthday celebration. My son still talks about how good that cake was to this day! It was a yellow cake with Italian chocolate buttercream frosting. Well fast forward a few years and the same son is graduating from high school and wants to spend the week at Folly. My first thought was I need to call Cakes by Kasarda because I wouldn't serve any other cake for this special event!

Tammy was so great to work with! The free samples she put together for us were all so delicious (that made it really hard for us to choose what we wanted). I was married on March 24, 2018 in Charleston, SC. Cakes by Kasarda was my THE BEST!. I honestly cannot say enough about Tammy. They were everything I could have asked for that day. The service I received was more than business, Tammy was so kind and honestly cared about making my day the best they could. There was not even one request that was not fulfilled to the highest standard. I would like to use a bigger and better statement than “I recommend highly Cakes by Kasarda”, because they far exceeded my expectations. Having spent more than six months planning every inch of my wedding, impressing me can be very difficult, but Tammy definitely did it!!! I can suggest if you have a wedding, party or even to book Cakes by Kasarda as soon as you can because once more people hear about them they will book up years in advance. Tammy was wonderful to work with. We were visiting the area from out of town. I found Cakes by Kasarda online. I was looking for a bakery that would make a cake with a cannoli filling. I was so grateful I found Tammy. She was helpful in selecting the cake flavor, I left the design up to her. On our way into town the weather was horrible and many accidents delayed us. I called Tammy to tell her how later we were going to be, she said she would wait. We finally got there. The cake was absolutely beautiful, better than I has imagined. The next evening we celebrated with that beautiful cake. It tasted even better than it looked. I want to thank Tammy for making such a wonderful cake for the event. We all enjoyed it.

Want the best tasting wedding cake in Charleston? CALL TAMMY! Trust me, I went to almost every cake baker in the Charleston area for a cake tasting. Not only did Cakes by Kasarda have the best tasting cakes, but I gave her a small idea of what I was looking for in a cake and she made it into a beautiful creation that was stunning in front of a tank at the SC aquarium. All of my guests loved it and I can't wait to find another excuse to have her bake a cake. She is wonderful and very affordable!

Tammy's artistic and baking skills are amazing! She made a fairytale wedding cake for my daughter that was even more beautiful than the picture she was given! It was delicious too! Hummingbird cake that tasted like what Grandma used to make. Her mini desserts and hand made apple pies (turnover style) were raved about by many of our guests as well!

Cakes by Kasarda was one of the easiest decisions I had to make! She was very responsive and a one on one cake tasting with so many options! Everyone was talking about how light and tasty the cupcakes were. We did a pumpkin cake for our cake cutting and it was so delicious! I'm not very good at this, but I ordered a birthday cake for my two year old son, I've had nothing but problems in the past working with people, this woman was so nice I couldn't believe it. So friendly the most kind person then the cake. On top of her over the top wonderful perpersonality she answered every email with next to no hesitation it was a Spiderman theme cake in the shape of a 2 all the guests at my son's party were stunned at how gorgeous this cake was and that's not even the best part the beautiful cake was not even the best part it was absolutely delicious I don't think I've ever had a cake that good in my life the frosting was just the right kind of sweet that wasn't overpowering she truly is a master at what she does the value of the cake was in my opinion too low and I was more than willing to pay more for that cake then she charged me if you're having any thoughts on whether to go to this particular cake decorator please put your hesitation to rest she is the right one to make that lasting perfect memory with!

OMG CAAKEE!!!! First off, let me say we visited Tammy as the second of 2 cake tastings on the same afternoon. Despite my husband's limited tolerance of sweets, he couldn't stop eating and told me when we left that he liked Kasarda the best. We chose a 3 tier cake (chocolate moist with German chocolate frosting, caramelized banana with PB frosting/chocolate ganache, and carrot cake with her AMAZING cream cheese frosting). We brought an image of our cake vision and Tammy was able to replicate it to perfection. The cake was fantastic inside and out. Tammy is super sweet and well known in the wedding business. Many of our vendors either suggested her cakes or reaffirmed us on our decision. We plan to go back for a fresh anniversary cake for our 1 year anniversary.

I was even so pleased with our cake tasting and how "at home" I felt! We were wanting specific cupcake holders and gold sprinkles (as well as many other specific requests for the cake), and Tammy accommodated all of our requests! Not only were guests commenting how delicious it all was, but they went on and on about how beautiful it looked. Tammy did a great job putting the flowers on the cake the exact way I wanted them. My wedding cake wasn't a top priority to me. I was actually just going to get a cake from publix, but that would cost me a lot for poor quality. Therefore, the cake tasting began. I tried a lot of cakes in a 2 day period. Cakes by Kasarda was by far the best tasting cake and the best price. Another very reputable baker was twice as much with cakes that did not taste even close to as good as her's. Seriously, I didn't even think she was going to be as good as she was. She was amazing. We met with Tammy for a tasting and immediately fell in love. She was willing to create exactly what we had in mind and, although it was relatively non-traditional and she hadn't done one prior to our event (we had a naked cake), it was absolutely beautiful and more than we could have hoped for! I can't tell you how much I loved my rehearsal dinner cake (groomsman cake). We are a house divided (UNC/NC State). Tammy did a great job making this an amazing cake. From the details to the taste! It was awesome!!!! My guests have bragged on it continuously. Online payments made it super simple to make deposits. Responsiveness was outstanding. Being an out-of-town wedding (over 4 hours away), the email communication made it super easy to convey my ideas. I was scheduled to put my deposit down with another bakery, but when my wedding planner who goes by the name of Tanis at Tanis J Events told me to hold off and get a tasting with Cakes by Kasarda I would find that I would get the same quality for a reasonable price. Thank goodness I did that! Tammy made cupcakes for my ten year vow renewal and boy all my guest were raving about them during and after our event. We served four different flavors at our wedding all of them were srumptious. My favorite though was her carrot cake. I never was a big fan about carrot cake but Tammy won me and my hubby over with her's. Cakes by Kasarda is the place to go.

There are alot of bakeries in Charleston to choose from, but the one bakeshop that I saw get constant great reviews was Cakes by Kasarda. Being an out of town bride, I relied heavily on other bride's reviews, so my husband and I decided to meet with Tammy and see for ourselves. Boy, we were not disappointed! Tammy was awesome to work with, she is so professional and you can tell right off the bat she enjoys what she does and pours her heart into making cakes! Now, I will say, her shop is not in the best part of town, but don't let that stop you from using her to make your wedding cake! She had so many choices of cake to choose from, and she will make anything you ask her to! She is so accomodating and will even construct cakes into objects to make your cake stand out on your special day. My husband and I decided to go with a neapolitan cake that had layers of white, chocolate and strawberry cake filled with layers of italian buttercream, fresh raspberries, and chocolate mousse....amazing! We loved her lemon cake too, so we added one top layer of lemon, filled with the fresh raspberries. I can honestly say I have not tasted a better wedding cake than that! She makes the fondant (important for southern outdoor weddings!) not too thick and plastic like, definitely edible and yummy! All in all, my husband and I are so, so happy that we went to Tammy to make our cake, our guests were ranting and raving over how moist and amazing the cake was! Now I know where all those great reviews came from ;)

Tammy blew away all of our expectations!
For starters, the cake tasting was hands down better than what we had expected after going to Ashley Bakery. Tammy had many different kinds of cake available to try along with multiple icings and fillings. All of these were so delicious that we had trouble picking out what we liked the most. Tammy made us feel like we were important customers to her. She gave us her undivided attention throughout the entire tasting and answered any questions we had.
My wife described what she wanted the cake to look like. On the spot, Tammy drew up a quick sketch which we approved, and the cake ended up looking EXACTLY how my wife envisioned it!
Each layer of the cake was incredibly delicious, and I can honestly say that I haven't ever had a better tasting chocolate cake. We also had 2 layers of hummingbird cake which every one of our guests raved about.
Tammy is the epitome of professionalism, and she deserves each of the many awards she's won. I'm looking forward to the next time I get to taste a cake made by her, and I can whole-heartedly say that she has my highest recommendation for any occasion!

You SHOULD hire Tammy to handle all your baking needs. In fact, she is forever my go to person because her work is just that amazing and tastes delicious. Tammy made my wedding cake for 250 guests and she also made my groom's cake. We chose vanilla, strawberry and chocolate flavors with the Italian Butter cream icing. My cake was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and it tasted even better! Seriously I cannot stop looking at the pictures of it and thinking back on how good it tasted!!! Everyone raved about it! Tammy, who owns the business/baker, is so nice and wonderful to work with. She is seriously a cake genius!! A must at everyone's wedding.

The wedding cake was beautiful and was exactly what we had pictured! The chocolate cake with the cookies and cream filling was wonderful - everyone commented on how the cake tasted like brownies - it was wonderful! You cannot go wrong with Tammy and will work with you to make sure that your dream cake can come true!

Cakes by Kasarda provided our wedding cake as well as the Groom's cake for our rehearsal dinner. Both cakes turned out awesome!! Tammy was able to create exactly what I wanted for both cakes within my budget. I was thrilled with both cakes as were my guests!

Tammy is an amazing baker! The first thing I liked about her was how responsive she was. I also liked that she gave us a proper tasting and didn't treat us any differently even though we had a very, very small wedding. We opted to have a German chocolate cake and it was delicious and moist. I don't like fondant and we had an indoor wedding so heat wasn't an issue so we opted for the Italian buttercream. That icing was just as smooth as any fondant I've ever seen and we liked that it wasn't as sweet.

Our wedding cake was a marble cake with italian cream icing with a lacy look and cobalt blue rim around the bottom. The cake was absolutly beautiful and tasted as good as it looked. We got TONS of compliments about how good the cake tasted. I would recommend Cakes by Kasarda to anyone looking for a reasonable price, great presentation and price. She also did a Bud Light cake for our grooms cake. Everyone thought it was real and not a cake, but tasted delicious as well!

We were never able to meet Tammy, we were never able to go into her shop, but we were able to provide our guests with the most out of this world cupcakes we have put into our mouths (guests absolutely RAVED)!!! She even sent us a box full of different cakes, cake fillings, and icings so that we could taste them at our home (almost five hours away) - and she sent us MORE choices than we even asked for! They were so moist & the icing was so light and tasty that we have decided to enjoy our mini cake (that was to be our anniversary cake) next weekend (only two months after our wedding, haha!); I have read cakes only last two months anyways...so that's my excuse to enjoy it again now and then order another for our anniversary. YES - they are THAT good! :)

First off, when we went to the cake tasting it was so hard to choose what flavors, fillings, and icing we wanted because all of the cakes tasted amazing! Tammy is an amazing baker and creator because all I had to do was send her pictures of ideas that we wanted and she came up with our cakes. We couldn't have been more thrilled with the outcome of our wedding and groom's cakes!

Most delicious cupcakes I've every had - and that is saying something! We had a great time sampling all the choices we had with her in her shop and knew she could do whatever we wanted. She even copied the motif from my invitation on our top layer to perfection. Lovely to work with!

We had the great fortune to find Tammy for our daughter's wedding on April 7. Tammy is the consummate professional and very easy to work with. Her flexibility allowed several changes across the planning time for the wedding, and she wound up supplying 5 different kinds of cupcakes and icings, and an anniversary cake that we put in at the last minute.
On the wedding day, delivery and set up was right on time. Not only was everything delicious (the Italian Cream is to die for), but every individual cupcake cake was a work of art. I was truly amazed at the filigree icing decoration on the anniversary cake, and the amount of symmetry and detail put into it. Several guests came back for seconds (and thirds), and any cakes left at the end of the evening went home with happy guests.
You are the best Tammy, and we thank you for your contribution to the success of Susan's wedding.
I would highly recommend Cakes by Kasarda for anyone's wedding or other celebrations.

We have had several cakes from Cakes by Kasarda and we have never been disappointed! First a Westie cake from a drawing my sister did, and then a Vineyard Vine Whale cake for our rehearsal dinner. Tammy has a true gift and her cakes are as delicious as they are amazing to look at!!

Beautiful cake AND it tastes amazing! My mom and I went cake testing because my fiance (now husband :) does not really like cake. We also had brownie cupcakes with nuts in honor of him because he loves those. Anyway, after we left the reception, we were talking about all the details. I found out that he had eaten TWO pieces of the cake. I was shocked. He said, "That cake tasted SO good, and I heard other people talking about it too." That was the true test of "GREATNESS" for a cake that passed him as well. She was also quite easy to work with and gave great suggestions. Here is what I ordered. White cake, chocolate chip cannoli filling with cream cheese icing... AMAZING. I also ordered cupcakes...chocolate with peanut butter icing, chocolate with European butter cream, carrot with cream cheese.

I absolutely loved my cake that Tammey Kasarda of Cakes by Kasarda made for us. She was able to understand exactly what we wanted - colors, flavors, overall look - and make it a reality. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed our cake - we didn’t have much to bring home! Her service and professionalism exceeded our expectations and I would definitely recommend her to any bride and groom! I never worried about what my cake would look like or taste like - Tammey Kasarda had it under control and she delivered one beautiful cake!

Our beautiful wedding cake was done by Tammy of Cakes by Kasarda, and I could not have chosen a better place. Tammy did a fantastic job, took a picture that I had emailed her, and made our wedding cake look exactly like it! We have received many compliments on how beautiful it was, and most importantly...that it was delicious! She has so many different kinds of cakes to choose from (which you get to sample at the cake tasting!), and many different fillings as well.
Tammy was wonderful to work with, delivered, set up, and added the flowers to our cake herself...and she did a wonderful job. I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone!
