If you are looking for the best (and yummiest) cake for your wedding then look no further than Emily & Tampa Bay Cakes. She is a gem to work with and made the process so easy when we had a last minute cancellation of another cake company. She walked me through the whole process and was so helpful regarding flavors and amount of cakes/cupcakes needed even though I was unable to get up to the shop for a tasting. The cake and cupcakes on wedding day were a huge hit and such a perfect fit for the vision I had described to Emily through our many emails. Tampa Bay Cake Company was truly the best to work with before, during, and after our wedding. As an out-of-town bride and groom, they made picking the cake flavors easy by meeting us where we were at – literally. We gave them our preferred flavors, and they shipped samples overnight. Their flavors were out of this world, and we're a huge hit at the wedding. They were even kind enough to make a complimentary anniversary cake free of charge after our food venture had misplaced it. We don't plan on getting married again, but if we need to, we would definitely come to them again! -

Dream cake!
Tampa Bay Cake Co perfectly executed my vision of my dream wedding cake. Not only was the cake the star of the show on the outside, but it was incredibly delicious! Our guests are still commenting months later on how amazing our wedding cake tasted and that they kept going back for more. Couldn’t recommend enough! -

Emily's cakes are a master piece. The cinnamon roll cake was so delicious! My husband would not stop talking about it after our tasting all the way up to the Wedding. We ended up getting a classic wedding cake made of chocolate and Vanilla and getting a second grooms cake just so we could make sure we got a slice of the cinnamon cake. And Emily did a great job decorating the cakes based on what we asked for. The grooms cake had our college mascot on it and the wedding cake was blue ombre. I was very happy with the result and there was not a slice of cake left at the end of the night. It was a huge hit! -

I had Tampa Bay Cake Company for my wedding cake, grooms cake and cupcakes on 4/29/23 at the Tampa River Center. Emily was incredible to work with through the planning process and brought my vision to life. She made adjustments as I changed my vision multiple times and the cakes and cupcakes at the reception were perfect. We ended up with multiple flavors and my husband was blown away by the grooms cake. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Emily. thank you for making our day perfect! -

Our guest completely finished our dessert table. Emily was great she really guided us through this process of design and selecting the right desserts for our wedding.
Her desserts were so moist and flavorful. The icing was so yummy! Our wedding cake came out great. It was so moist. -

I hired Tampa Bay Cake Company to create both our wedding cake and groomsman cake. All I can say is WOW! She made our thoughts and wants come true in cake form. The owner Emily Lopez is an incredible baker and artist! She took our vision and made it a reality. Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted as good as it looked! She even made a little cat and dog to ensure our furry family members were included even though they couldn’t be there. This small detail meant a lot to my wife and I. The planning process all the way through the delivery the day of went very smoothly. And the cake tasting was amazing! It was so hard to pick just one flavor…but the salted caramel was to die for. Where do I start! Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end. I had a particular vision in mind, and she executed it beyond my wildest imagination. She was also so reassuring during the whole process, even when the pandemic hit. And for my big-day-of, the cake was a smash hit. Not only was it the center of attention, but also the highlight of the night. Everyone raved about it. I can't wait to work with Emily again. I enjoyed working with this vendor for my wedding! Emily did an outstanding job listening to my vision and making it come true! We got the pumpkin spice and cookie Dough flavors for our cake! It turned out absolutely delicious! Her work is truly artistic! Her gold cake stand made my cake a true focal point at my wedding! I highly recommend! -

We were so thrilled with everything we got from Tampa Bay Cake Company. We live in Massachusetts but decided to get married in Parrish FL. Emily was able to ship us a cake tasting since we weren’t able to make it to Florida before the wedding, which was huge. We went with a small cake (Vanilla w/ strawberry) and a dessert bar. What I got to try (regrettably not everything) was incredible. Our wedding was running a little behind and so by the time dessert was served I was eating while on the dance floor and didn’t get to savor eat bite like I wish I had. Still the chocolate covered strawberries, macarons and the key lime pie shooters were to die for. Our cake (that I only got one bite of) was delicious! My only regret is that we didn’t order more so I could have taken the extra home. The dessert was so popular it cleared out so fast! Not only do I recommend these guys for your wedding, I’ll also be recommending them for any occasion. I’m looking forward to ordering an anniversary cake from them next year lol.Tampa Bay Cake Company's reply:

Absolutely in love with how beautiful our cake was! I wanted real succulents and Emily made that happen. Our dessert bar was a total hit with cake shots, brownies, chocolate covered Oreos. Tampa Bay Cake Company didn’t miss a detail. Our Oreos even had a sparkling gold brush mark on them. We will definitely use TBCC again!Tampa Bay Cake Company's reply:

The stars received for this review are for a good cake tasting experience, initial consultation, and the cake flavors that were correct on the day of my wedding. Otherwise, I am disappointed with my experience with Tampa Bay Cake Company. To keep it short, I requested a 5-tier white fondant cake with lace detailing on each tier. As you can see from the pictures, this is not what I received. I didn’t find this out until it was time to cut my cake on the wedding day. On our contract, it states, ‘detailed lace’ and you will see that the design is nowhere near lace – many people thus far have described it as “birds feet stamped all over a cake” which is quite embarrassing. On top of pay $1300 for this cake and not getting the design I wanted, I am not happy with the way Tampa Bay Cake Company handled this feedback. I was told “lace is open to interpretation” and I was given a 10% refund which truthfully, is nothing in the grand scheme of this cake. The cake tasted great, and the flavors were correct, but the design which is ultimately what people are looking at fell flat – it should’ve just been left blank at that point. It looks like an afterthought, and I wish Tampa Bay Cake Company would’ve just been upfront with me.Tampa Bay Cake Company's reply:

TBCC was hired to make two cakes for our wedding. The examples of the cake we wanted were presented from the very first email. Nothing changed from this point, to the time of hire, to the time of event. The example cake was whimsical, dainty, all white with small details of moss green and specks of 14kt gold leaf. One and a half hours before the ceremony began, the cake was delivered. It was nothing like what was ordered. It was unacceptable. Thanks to the quick actions of the wedding coordinator, Emily was requested to come back to the venue and do what was possible to salvage the situation. 48 hours after the event, so as to not have emotions on high level, I reached out to Emily to ask where the breakdown was/the lack of understanding of what the wedding cake was to look like. She offered her apology for not being able to please us and an anniversary cake. We asked for nothing. We just wanted to know why she didn’t provide the cake we purchased. Finally she offered up that she had designed the cake with a popular palette technique that others had never complained about. Yet, there are no other reviews that ever showed this Palette technique. There are no cakes on her website that resemble anything similar to what was delivered to us. Simply, Emily made the cake she wanted to make, not the cake we hired her to make. Photos and all email correspondence are available to show what was purchased, what showed up to the venue and what the end result was after attempting to fix the cake. Emily said she returned to make changes because she is a woman of integrity. If she was a woman of integrity and truly cared about making the cakes of the bride’s wishes, she would have never showed up with the cakes designed wrong and with colors not even closely resembling those of the example. Let me repeat, we asked for no type of compensation, just an explanation before Emily finally admitted to doing what she wanted instead of what WE wanted. There are a lot of quality bakers out there who can create the cake of your dreams. Don’t risk hiring someone that lets you down on your wedding day by bringing a cake you did not pick. This is the only vendor that did not hold up their end for the wedding. It was a magical day that could have been ruined if it weren’t for an ice cake to take the attention away from the extremely poor quality cakes that were delivered. This owner wants to be a successful small business owner. It starts by providing a quality product that was selected by your client, NOT YOU.Tampa Bay Cake Company's reply:
Hi Kim, I'm so sad to read this, as we hate disappointing our clients! As I mentioned in our email communication the invoice said "yellow and green" so I truly wish that mistake was found earlier, but unfortunately it wasn't. I did ask if you specifically wanted flowers as that would have raised the price, and you had said no. We believe the cakes came out very similar to the sketch you approved, but that isn't what is important-what's important is that you love your cake! This is why when I learned you weren't happy with the colors I drove an hour back to the venue to remove the colors and added more white and gold (even though the invoice said yellow and green). We did get confirmation from one of the coordinators that you were happy-whether that is true or not that is what I was told and have the text to prove it. I offered the bride an anniversary cake to make up for any disappointment, but didn't get confirmation on that. I do hope you all had an amazing day, and I wish you nothing but the best! -
