Beautiful and Unique

We used the Draper location as our reception venue and hosted a private dinner in there. It was stunningly beautiful. We paid for no additional lighting--- the way it is lit and arranged is amazing. The venue easily accommodated the 110 or so guests we had. I was so pleased with the accommodation we had. Doug was a rockstar!

Couldn’t have asked for more

I got married at the location in Draper on 10-28-2021 and the service was above and beyond. The price was great for our budget and the staff handles so much! It really takes a lot of stress off of you. They also have lots of their own rentals available which makes it way easier than going elsewhere. Doug, the event coordinator, was fantastic. Never had an issue getting questions answered in a timely manner and he’s incredibly friendly and reliable. Our caterer ended up not serving the cake even though we paid them to… but Doug stepped in and handled it himself. I’m eternally grateful to him and the whole staff for providing such a wonderful night and beautiful venue!

Great Service!

`I had the pleasure of working with Doug Dardon for our company Valentine event, and he made the planning very easy. He not only worked directly with the caterer but also with our AV team. Doug made our centerpieces beautiful and was very responsive to all my emails and calls. I look forward to working with Dough and Cactus & Tropicals again.

Great customer

We ended up booking another venue, but had such a great experience with Jason at Cactus and Tropicals- Salt Lake City that I wanted to send a recommendation to anyone looking.
You can tell that he's coordinated 100+ weddings. He knew exactly what the options were to create a charming and unique reception and/or ceremony and talked through them with us during the consultation.
I really think that Cactus and Tropicals is the best value venue in Utah. They take care of so many aspects of the reception to make it go smoothly and you'll spend less on florals too! Definitely worth checking out.

Simple and Beautiful

Everything at Cactus and Tropicals is already so gorgeous which made the planning easy. Their coordinator Jason was always quick to respond and they had someone day of who helped with music, announcements, and set up! We had Meagan from the floral department make a bouquet and a flower crown and thy were just so beautiful. I would definitely recommend having a reception here!

Fantastic to work with

Such a good value. So many things are included, all I had to provide were the table cloths! TV, speakers, arbor, lights, fire pit, table decorations, easels, tables and serving areas. It was amazing, the staff was not phased by any last minute questions and were very helpful. All went smoothly, and Doug at the Draper location was available all night and coordinated everything.

Jason is the best wedding manager on the planet!

I've helped plan four wedding receptions for my sons and daughters and have never worked with anyone more competent and helpful than Jason Denis at Salt Lake Cactus and Tropicals. He thinks of absolutely everything from the type of plug you'll need to pipe your playlist from your phone to the kind of wire needed to hang your backdrop. Felt like someone had your back every step of the way and couldn't have been more pleasant and fun to deal with. Highly recommend the venue for all it has to offer PLUS Jason, who is wonderful.

Unique and FUN

My husband and I stumbled across this venue by accident, but we are SO glad we did. After getting a tour of Cactus and Tropicals by their wedding coordinator (who comes with the price of booking a wedding there), we both decided this place would be too good to be true. And, after hearing how affordable it was, we couldn’t wait to book it! If you are the type of person who loves flowers and the natural vibe of a wedding, you should go check this out. I have no complaints, and I still go there all the time to buy plants and for the memories. LOVED it!

Dream Venue

We looked at Cactus and Tropicals SLC location, and no other venues. I was sold from walking in the door. Jason, the event director, was incredibly helpful. His suggested list of vendors was great, and we were able to make decisions quickly based on his advice. The venue and staff made the wedding incredibly easy. They covered the music, the announcing, chair and table arrangements, linens throughout the night. The rental prices for candles were very reasonable and they had everything on hand that made it easy. throughout the wedding planning stress, every time I went to C&T I felt at ease, like "ok, this place is so beautiful, no matter what else happens it will be a success." I highly recommend using the in-house florist as well. It is so convenient not to send anyone to pick up flowers. Denise was my lead florist. I told her I trusted her vision and opinion. She delivered the most incredible flowers ever. Could not recommend C&T SLC enough.

Experienced and helpful staff

Our wedding could not have been more perfect! Jason and Erik helped us so much with our wedding planning to make sure everything ran smoothly. The wedding day came and we felt so ready and prepared because of all the help they gave us. All of our guests raved about the location and how wonderful all of the plants and flowers were. We ended up using a lot of their preferred vendors and were so happy we did!
We also used Cactus and Tropicals for all of our flowers and they turned out beautiful and exactly what we had imagined. I talked with Aubree several times about our flowers and she was able to put together an inspiration board of what I asked for and she was extremely helpful.
We highly recommend the venue for any couple looking to get married. We recommend Cactus and Tropicals Salt Lake location not only for how beautiful and intimate the location is, but also because of the helpfulness of Jason and Erik along with all of the other staff that went above and beyond to make our wedding special.
We cannot say enough about how great our experience has been with this venue.

Beautiful, high quality venue at a budget friendly price

We would give Cactus & Tropicals 10 stars if we could. Of all of the venues, they were the only ones that allowed us the flexibility of choosing our own vendors for the event and for a much lower rental fee than any other venue. The space is lush, green, peaceful and immaculate.
Jason makes planning a breeze. With his extensive experience, he is able to foresee any potential complication and figure them out before they happen. The store offers a lot of centerpiece options with tables and seating for 100 people and it's all included in the rental fee. We chose to rent many of their hurricanes, candles, and votives at a lower price than we found elsewhere. They have a large variety of styles to meet every taste.
The day of our reception Jason helped us set up and arranged a 4-person team who made sure we had a perfect event. Everything went seamlessly! We even forgot a couple of things and they jumped in and saved the day. We were able to focus on celebrating and never had to worry about staying on schedule. Eric, the team lead, did a great job of coordinating the guests, announcing each moment- such as cake cutting, first dance, etc. and flawlessly switched between our many playlists at just the right time. One of our guests went home and told her 16-year-old son that when he gets married someday, they will be having the wedding at Cactus and Tropicals. Thank you, Jason, for a perfect day!

The best venue in the area

I cannot believe C&T doesn't charge double what they do. I was so overwhelmed about wedding planning until we booked the SLC location. Jason walked me through every single detail. They provided a day-of planner, and they emceed the entire evening. Not to mention they provide the table, chairs, and centerpieces, all included in the price. My sign-in table was pretty wimpy and Jason immediately told me to grab whatever I wanted from a table of flowers to jazz it up. It ended up looking like a beautifully designed table of flowers that would have cost at least $1,000 from a professional to do. Multiple people have complimented the magic of the night because of the venue. They work so hard to make it beautiful and all you have to do is show up. I would tell any friend to use this venue.

A Magical Night at C&T

Look no further! Cactus and Tropicals has the MOST AMAZING team and is the MOST AMAZING venue!
Working with Jason (the head planner) was a dream - he's professional, knows what he's doing, has good creative/artistic input, and is easy to work with. He really knows his stuff! He made planning our wedding SO much easier - you can truly depend on him! He's open to all ideas, so don't be afraid to ask!
Denise, who does in-house floral arrangements, is amazingly creative - the hanging flower arrangement she did on the honeycomb in the venue, and my floral bouquet - people couldn't get over how stunning they were! She puts her whole heart into what she does and wants to get your dream wedding exactly right!
We worked with Erik (the events coordinator) the night of our big shebang, and he was SO helpful, calm, and knew exactly when things should happen and where people should be. On a day that can become a little chaotic and overwhelming, he made everything so smooth and nonchalant.
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful or a more perfect wedding day! Thanks SO much to Jason, Denise, and Erik for making our night magical!

Cactus and Tropicals was such a beautiful place to get married!! As a bride I looked at many many venues before choosing and this was the PERFECT location! its so green and beautiful I got so many compliments from my guests. Jason was so so so amazing to work with! He is incredibly responsive and made the day of so easy for me! He even ran around looking for a phone charger for me because I forgot to bring mine! The venue transforms in the night and the lights make the perfect ambiance for a gorgeous evening. I wish I could get married here all over again!!

I cannot explain to you how amazing this venue is for weddings. It's very reasonably priced and Jason (the event coordinator) is a freaking rockstar!! He helped me with EVERYTHING; was completely there for me every step of the way. My wedding was BEAUTIFUL and he was so on top of everything so I didn't have much to stress about the day-of. I don’t even know where to begin! Jason (C&T’s event coordinator) is incredible! He has weddings and events down to a science. He thought of little details for our wedding that wouldn’t have even crossed my mind (and I thought that I had done a pretty good job of planning my wedding) he was so detail oriented, thoughtful, polite and made everything so easy. He even MC’d the night so that everything happened according to schedule and made sure people were in the right places. Knowing he was in charge put me at ease and helped me to enjoy my wedding even more. He really was amazing.

I cannot even begin to describe how thrilled I was with Kendyl at Cactus and Tropicals SLC. She was very responsive and provided excellent input to expand upon my visions. She went over and above with the quality of work provided on the day of. Never have I ever seen such beautiful flowers...I can easily say that this was one of my favorite details at our wedding!

Do yourself a favor and host your special event at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper! Doug and his crew were fabulous from beginning to end and really went the extra mile to make our reception just what we wanted. They've thought of everything and were there all evening to pinch hit if anything went awry. We loved the open fire on the balcony and all of the special details the venue has to offer - including an incredible view!

My daughter and I worked with Gena at Cactus and Tropicals for her wedding florals, we had the best experience ever!
Our vision of style was accomplished through their expert direction, the attention to detail was impressive and Gena is super friendly and easy to work with. The Bouquets, Flower Girl Headbands, Boutonnieres, Corsages and Table Settings were all beautifully presented on the BIG day, our expectations were exceeded.
We would highly recommend Cactus and Tropicals to everyone.

Cactus and Tropicals did the flowers for our wedding and they were absolutely lovely. We did bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and an arch with a floral swag, which was later used as table decorations. It all looked really lovely on our wedding day. We met with Gena beforehand to plan out our florals and she was great to work with. She incorporated every flower/plant that we wanted to have on our special day.

I RARELY give a full 5 out of 5 review, but holy moly these guys BLEW it out of the water!
I gave Elisa (florist) a fairly vague description of what I wanted, and she absolutely nailed it. I would say she's a mind reader, but even that is not giving her enough credit. That implies I actually knew what I wanted, but all I knew was the “feel” I was going for. She ran with it and created the most elegant and romantic florals.

The Venue itself was absolutely perfect. They were SO ACCOMIDATING, so kind, so generous, and an absolute dream to work with.

I will never be able to thank Cactus and Tropicals enough. I’m certain they are at least 80% of the reason my wedding day was the most incredibly perfect day.

We got married on 10.7.17 at Cactus and Tropicals the SLC location. Jason made everything go smoothly. You don’t think the venue could be as elegant as he and his team set it up, but it transforms just like that. Give Jason a call and do a walk through. He will paint the picture for you and if you can’t see it, just give your trust to him. We didn’t think about decorating as it’s a beautiful location as is, Jason made some suggestions and we went with his ideas- we had compliments during and after the wedding with how beautiful it was.

My succulent bouquet was even better than I imagined it would be! My favorite part of it was being able to take it apart twhen plant them and keep my bouquet forever!!!! They did a phenomenal job, Amy M was amazing and I will definitely go back for other floral needs!

My husband and I got married on Saturday at the Cactus and Tropical in Draper, UT. This location was bigger, there was no noise ordinance regulation (due to the area) so we were able to do our send off at 1130! Doug the wedding coordinator was PHENOMENAL! He is extremely good at his job! We were able to bring in our own food and decorations. However, this place is so insanely beautiful it doesn't need much additional decorations. We had the time of our lives. We are still getting phone calls telling us that it was the most beautiful and fun wedding our guests have EVER been too. The staff and this location was incredible. It literally was the best night of mine and my husbands life. Hands down, the best venue ever. We have 0 complaints!! Thank you again for making this the best night of our lives!

I am so happy with the reception we just had for my daughter! Cactus and Tropicals in Draper is such a beautiful setting. I was worried it would be humid or warm because it was a nursery but the temperature was perfect the entire time. I love how we could use any of the flowers in our decorating. Amy in the floral department did an amazing job with the bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids. She knew how to find the perfect balance between my daughters vision and my own. Doug was so helpful and pleasant to work with. He just took care of everything behind the scenes and was so accommodating to all our needs. We had chandeliers and silks brought in by Moonlight Lifhting and that really made the venue pop even more. It was great having all the places to park. The guests are still talking about what a beautiful reception it was!!!

We had such a great experience working with Jason at Cactus and Tropicals in Salt Lake. I was a little more stressed then most brides considering my Fiancee was out of state at school right up until the wedding date but Jason did so much to put my mind at ease and help me figure out all the details. He always had the answer for everything as we went through the planning process. I was very impressed at how thoughtful he was with my special day and thinking of things I didn't even think of. The day of our event Jason was there in person at the entire time and catered to every small request like music volume and signs. I was a little worried about the temperature being to warm but it was perfectly cool throughout our whole reception. Many of our quests complimented how beautiful the atmosphere was with the bistro lighting and flowers. I really can't say enough good things about this venue. I was so pleased! They set up and take down everything besides your own decorations you bring in (which isn't much because it is already so beautiful). Cactus and Tropicals was an easy choice for our wedding flowers/plants as this store fits our aesthetic perfectly. Kendyl was amazing to work with; we told her what colors we liked along with some types flowers and succulents and let her do the rest. Our wedding was up at Solitude and the flowers and succulent arrangements were absolutely gorgeous.

Kendyl at Cactus and Tropicals was one of the easiest and best decisions I made for my entire wedding day! The first night I met with her she was finishing my sentences because she envisioned exactly what I did. It was meant to be! She always got back to my emails and texts, even when I had to change things kind of last minute. Kendyl and her team came up to my venue 3 hours before my wedding start time and got everything set up. There were a couple of set backs (non of which were Cactus and Tropicals fault) but Kendyl handled it like a pro! So happy I made the decision to go with them and more specifically that I lucked out and got someone like Kendyl.

This was a wonderful venue choice. We had a beautiful winter wedding here, and it was incredibly easy to work with Jason, as well as the other staff. They were more flexible as far as food, lighting, and decorations than other venues we looked at, which made the whole process so much less stress free and we got exactly what we hoped for.

AMAZING. Our wedding was so perfect! We had never seen the venue at night, but with the lights the way they were it was breathtaking. The vibe of the Salt Lake location is so cool/funky, it really was just the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed, fun wedding. Jason was SO accommodating, and so easy to get ahold of...we couldn't have asked for more.

Beautiful place for a wedding ceremony. Jason was great to work with and even added some extra touches to the ceremony area to make it even more perfect. We had a small ceremony with about 20 people and it felt so intimate and looked absolutely gorgeous. Great for small ceremonies, and it seems like it would work well for larger ceremonies as well. Worked with Kendyl to arrange the bouquets and boutonnières and they turned out perfect. Highly recommend all around!

My daughter was married at the Salt Lake City, UT location. It is absolutely beautiful. I have not seen the Draper location but I am going to assume that it is just as beautiful. You will not be disappointed. I'm going to copy and paste the emails that I sent to the florist and the wedding planner. That should say it all: Jess -
I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated all the work that you and your florist put in on making the flowers and arrangements beautiful. Everyone commented on how beautiful they were. Most in importantly my daughter said they were exactly what she had envisioned and that she loved them. You put in a lot of work making them perfect and it was obvious that you enjoyed every minute along with her. I have never heard any other bride express that. You were so personally involved and the two of you matched with the vision she had. Please forward this on to your manager so they can see how invested you are in the work that you do. I was also singing your praises to family on how knowledgeable you are on flowers. It was amazing. Hopefully your managers know how knowledgeable and amazing you two are in making wedding dreams come true. Thank you so much again you will always be remembered as part of her perfect day. We booked Cactus & Tropicals Draper for our wedding ceremony and reception. The location is beautiful, Vanessa and her team are fantastic. We also booked Amy with Flora to provide the bouquet and the boutonnieres for the wedding party. Everything looked gorgeous and the night went very well. We had so many compliments that the location was very pretty and everyone had fun. They had everything set up on time and we did not have any issues that came up. Draper location is my favorite!!!! The service there was perfect. Thank you Zach and crew! It really was seamless. It has incredible lighting and intimate feel. Coming from the east coast, it was a worry free setup, whew! I would do it all over again and only change my music playlist! Haha! One unique thing we did was clear the bridal room after her use, into a private video booth. Their lush greenery made natural beautiful photos. Dreams did come true!!! LOVED IT!!! We had our wedding reception at Cactus and Tropicals and we loved it! It was a really beautiful set-up, as well as allowed us to provide any caterer or our choice (in my case, my mom was the caterer) and allowed us to bring in any extra decorations. They were also really great to work with and were good about talking us through how things would be. They also provided extra parking, because their store parking lot is very small. Overall, really great!

We had our reception at the Salt Lake City location. It was everything we could have ever dreamed of. The staff was so helpful and not worrying about cleaning up the tables chairs and linens was the cherry on top! You don't even have to decorate. The building itself is beautiful. I would recommend this venue to anyone who is planning a wedding!

I do not even know where to begin without gushing about how wonderful Cactus & Tropicals was as my wedding venue. We held scheduled our ceremony on a Friday evening and did not plan for the venue being a functioning retail store. The staff was great, they helped us put up the Chinese lanterns and hang our handmade glass lanterns. Every staff member was kind and helpful and the venue was BEAUTIFUL!
Once the ceremony started, everything ran so smoothly it felt like we had rehearsed but it was all due to the professionalism of the staff. If you are looking for a beautiful venue, choose Cactus & Tropicals, Draper location! They know how to help pull together an amazing party!!

Cactus & Tropicals was absolutely fantastic to work with. Megan was our coordinator for the event at the Salt Lake location. Very flexible to work with and easy to communicate with. It was so nice to have a beautiful place to do our wedding reception and be stress free! Our reception was in July, so the venue was so vibrant and colorful. It actually saved lots of money because the decor and flowers are all included in the price since the venue is at a nursery. I would recommend this venue and Megan as the coordinator to anyone! The cost of venue rental included table and chairs for 100+ guests as well as free use of gorgeous in-house floral arrangements on each table. The venue itself was stunning with all of the live flowers inside and out. The sound system was included and we could just plug in our own wedding play list and avoid hiring a DJ. The option to self-cater is also available so we saved a great deal by not having to hire a caterer. (In hind sight while we saved money on food, we wish we would have opted to hire out the food so we could have been less stressed leading up to our big day.) But overall the value of this venue was great! Megan, the wedding coordinator, was happy to work with us to make sure all the details were correct. As a same-sex couple, we felt very welcomed at Cactus & Tropicals and know our friends in a similar relationship would benefit from booking their event at this location.

I just recently had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Cactus and Tropicals location in Draper. We could not have been happier with the way the evening went. The venue is beautiful and we were able to have our ceremony during a crazy thunderstorm and everything still came out amazing! Vanessa and her assistant Zach were great, and always pleasant and accomodating. We were especially pleased that we could choose our own vendors at this location, instead of having to choose from a handful of options. They do provide plenty of vendor recommendations, and the ones I used were really great. I would suggest using their linen recommendation, as it made everything so easy. I would say that you can't go wrong planning to have a wedding or reception at Cactus and Tropicals.

We thought that Cactus and Tropicals was the perfect place to have our wedding reception, and we couldn't have asked for better service with Megan. She was just so easy to work with - super kind, very flexible, and she has the ability to make anything beautiful. The venue is stunning to begin with, but being able to use all of the flowers there really helped save money and it looked fantastic. We had a great party, our guests lingered, and everyone loved it. The guys who helped with set-up really got the job done. We basically showed up to a beautiful space already set up and enjoyed the night mostly stress-free.

Beautiful plants, beautiful scenery, no extra decoration necessary, indoor and outdoors- It was so perfect! I had my reception here and I would do it again. The staff were very accommodating and set up everything. I could use whatever other vendors I wanted, which was so nice. I was so grateful they didn't force me to pick from certain vendors, I could do whatever I wanted. The atmosphere there was so intimate, and I think it made everyone feel welcome and cozy. We had mellow jazz music playing through their stereo system throughout the greenhouse, and it added just the final touch on everything. The numerous water fountains and plants make it feel like you are outside when you really aren't. The night of my reception t actually rained, but it was actually sooooo cool!!! The sound of the rain hitting the roof was magical! I felt so taken care of, and everyone there answers my questions perfectly and helped me de-stress and not worry about a thing. I have nothing negative to add whatsoever :)

Cactus and Tropicals Draper was perfect for our daughters wedding and reception and I'll tell you why. It's gorgeous. There is no preparation needed. Go with their recommended linen supplier that knows their table sizes. Voila. (I bought my own thinking it was a deal and the day of the event I called up and rented them. It took four hours the week before to iron linens for another wedding. I was not about to do that again). You have plants galore, lights everywhere, views of the mountains and sunset, large indoor and outdoor venue . No worries if it rains. You can choose your own caterer or self cater ( we loved Veronica's Cuisine) and choose your own bartender with full or partial service (they supply the alcohol or you bring your own as long as your bartender is licensed and insured). Seriously, if I had the reception anywhere else it would have cost me more time, money and stress buying plants, stringing lights, decorating tables, arranging, etc. At C&T Draper it was all done for us and ready to go! We got a photo booth which is not necessary but made for a fun sign in table and memory book.

Megan was very helpful and knowledgeable. She provided a map of the venue with table placement, etc. that was very helpful as we worked with our florist and planned decorations. She even provided a list of items that we might bring--like lighters and bandaids--both of which we ended up using during our reception. She even made sure that we had flower arrangements in our colors nearest to where our guests would be. Everything was even lovelier than we had imagined it might be. We're very happy with our choice to have our reception at Cactus & Tropicals SLC.

Cactus and tropicals turned out to be an amazing place for our wedding reception. Megan was very easy to work with and helped with every aspect along the way. She did a wonderful job at explaining things, kept us informed/made sure we were prepared, and was flexible/informative along with the rest of her staff. Cactus and tropicals made everything easy for us. Aside from the great staff, the venue is amazing! I loved how unique our reception was- different from any other place we saw. It took hardly any work to decorate (it's basically decorated for you). It's cozy, beautiful, warm, and a fun atmosphere for guests to explore and enjoy. Everyone loved spending time here- I can't say enough good things. We loved it!

Vanessa was such a big help she gave us tons of referrals and was always checking in with us and making sure everything was working out the way that we wanted it to. Cactus and Tropicals is the best value for wedding ceremonies and receptions out there. I remember when I was scoping out venues for my reception, I was so frustrated with how expensive everything was. Not only were the venues out there expensive on their own, but they almost all came with some sort of "package" that required me to use their vendors and food. Brass tacks--the other places would probably pull off a beautiful event--but a cookie-cutter event. That is NOT what I wanted.

I found Cactus and Tropicals through a bridal show, and was just totally blown away. Not only was the venue BEAUTIFUL, but they allowed us to self-cater, use our own music, photographers, etc. Plus, you don't have to decorate the venue, because it's a greenhouse and already has everything you could ever need. The event coordinator at the Draper location (Vanessa) was also just a joy to work with. She was on top of everything, and put together lovely centerpieces from existing stock at the venue to match my wedding colors.

I would recommend this venue to ANYONE (in fact, I have and have had two of my friends get married there as a result). It's absolutely gorgeous, and they are insanely easy to work with. Plus, I can't count how many compliments we got on the venue. It's unique and amazing. I would never have picked anywhere else. The value is wonderful, and the location is so beautiful.

Megan and her team at Cactus and Tropicals helped us have an absolutely wonderful wedding! Megan was happy to accommodate our personal needs and requests, and was very easy to work with. For example, we wanted the our ceremony in a particular place in the greenhouse, and a private place for mothers to tend to their children. Megan was happy to help out! The venue is amazing - wonderfully fragrant, warm and inviting, happy, and full of color. It is truly a great place for a wedding. Plus, the diffused light from the greenhouse is excellent for photos! You will love all of your pictures. I would highly recommend Cactus and Tropicals to anyone for an event!

This place was amazing! Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and so unique. All of our guests were so excited and were willing to stay around because the place was so interesting to look around at. Our pictures turned out absolutely beautiful because this place is so vibrant and gorgeous! It fit all of our guests comfortably, and we had a blast!!!

We had planned to hold our wedding outside, but were very pleased with how willing the Cactus and Tropical's staff was to set up in doors when a huge rain storm struck. The ceremony was just as gorgeous inside. We were also very grateful for the help they offered in tying sashes on 100 chairs!

We had heard that we might expect some rain indoors if it rained hard enough, and that it did. We love the rain so it didn't bother us at all to have a few dripping spots. (What else can you expect with a greenhouse?!) We were thrilled to be in such a great location for our daughter's big day and all of our guest loved the venue.

After looking at many venues for our wedding and reception we decided to go with Cactus and Tropicals. The event planner, Megan was super helpful every step of the way and the venue was AMAZING. We loved the atmosphere, especially the fresh flowers/plants everywhere (that we did not have to pay extra for) Cactus and Tropical is very budget friendly while still making you feel fancy and important. Megan really felt like my own personal event planner and paid attention to every detail. I literally didn't have to decorate the venue at all because it's such a beautiful greenhouse and your center pieces are included with the venue. This venue is also fantastic because there is no set list of vendors that you are required to use, which gives you tons of options and allows you to stick to whatever budget you have for catering and other services such as bar tenders. Overall I don't have one complaint about my wedding or reception...I still find myself thinking the whole night was dream because everything went so perfectly.

Cactus & Tropicals in SLC went above and beyond for everything!! They are absolutely incredible people and so great to work with! Megan is a sweetheart and gets you very excited for everything to come to life the day of!! Any worries or concerns you have they are on top of getting them worked out. They are prompt on getting back to you, they don't just tell you something so that you will work with them, and they help point you in the right direction for other great services (linens, food, bar services etc..) Wish my wedding wasn't over with so I could still look forward to having it at Cactus & Tropicals in SLC! They were a breath of fresh air compared to most places!! They will definitely have lifelong customers from us and some of the guests :)

Cactus and Tropicals is one of my favorite places to visit in Salt Lake City. I like to stop there on the way home from a stressful day at work because my mood and outlook on life lift just walking through the front doors. The climate, the oxygen from all the plants, and the living beauty are soothing and spark creative ideas. My husband and I chose an unusual venue for our wedding—the salt flats—and needed a place back in town for our reception. I met with Megan and found out that we could do just about anything—there were no limitations like having to use a specific caterer or vendor, and we could bring in our own music. They even let us bring in a light sculpture we built! We set it up in the outside gardens. The only thing we *had* to do, since we were serving alcohol, was hire a bartender with an alcohol liability policy, but Megan recommended a few, and that was easy. We set up the bar in the outside gardens near the koi pond, and served the food inside, so guests were inspired to walk throughout the inside and outside areas and explore. They loved it, and we loved it! Another plus: because Cactus and Tropicals is so beautiful and alive, we didn't need any decorations, and they provided and set up the tables and chairs as part of the fee. We used Specialty Linens for the tablecloths. They know the setup at Cactus, and both delivered the tablecloths to the venue and picked them up afterward, and it was all included in their very reasonable fee. Cactus let us use their arrangements on the tables. I really can't think of anything I'd want to change about that evening. Our reception was memorable and beautiful and fun. Megan had anticipated all our questions and made it so easy for us.

Cactus and Tropicals was the perfect place to have my wedding. The staff went out of their way to make sure I had the perfect day, and were always friendly and professional. Vanessa met with me I don't know how many times, and Amy and the nursery staff put extra time to get things ready. Cactus and Tropicals was very flexible in working with my DJ and florist and caterer, and my family ended up doing much less set up than we had planned. The centerpieces that Vanessa made were beautiful and matched my personality wonderfully. The venue is a beautiful green house with more flowers and trees and fountains and lights than I could ever have afforded to decorate with. The patio bar overlooks the city lights, and I was able to get married outside surrounded by flowers with a view of the mountains, except still only five minutes from the freeway. The wedding was weeks ago now, and I am still getting compliments on the venue!

I recently used Cactus & Tropicals Salt Lake City for my reception on June 20th. I had been working with Megan for the 3 months leading up to our wedding. She was the most incredible person to work with! She made everything so easy, and so painless for us. My husband and I had been living in Colorado while we were planning our wedding, and Megan was so helpful, and so flexible scheduling meetings and walkthroughs with us! When I had initially walked through she gave me a huge list of caterers, cake shops, djs, and anything else you could need when planning a wedding. Although we decided to just plan our wedding without a wedding planner Megan would call just to see how the planning was going, if we needed anything, and if we had any questions.
The night of our wedding reception was just incredible! The venue itself was absolutely gorgeous! it looked like a totally different place, you honestly would have never known it was a retail store. They moved anything that we didn't love, they hid price tags, they cleaned everything, and made the venue look so magical. The staff helped ensure that there was no stress on me, my husband, or any of our family. They made sure every part of our reception went off without a hitch!
Everything about Cactus and Tropicals was phenomenal. They helped create the night of our dreams. It truly is the best place to have a reception, between the over the top helpful staff, the beautiful flowers, Megan who helped make everything perfect, and everything else the venue has to offer it is definitely the most memorable night of our lives.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for a night we will never forget. It felt like an absolute dream.

We had our reception at the SLC Cactus and Tropicals this last Saturday and it was absolutely amazing! The venue is so beautiful and is just perfect for events like this. Megan and her staff made the whole event so easy and enjoyable. Megan was able to recommend vendors for all of the services we needed, all of which turned out to be just a fantastic as she'd said. Everything ran smoothly. I couldn't have asked for more! If (when) we have anniversary parties in the future, we'll definitely be trying to schedule them here. I highly recommend having your reception at Cactus and Tropicals.

We had our wedding here in May. We were on a budget, tight time schedule, and little time to actually plan a wedding. (The American Dream right?!)
Well I found Cactus & Tropicals and what a life savor. We met with Megan one day after calling. She made us feel wonderful about all of our choice we wanted. She was very easy to get ahold of, and helped us with the details along the way.
The venue was beautiful, and no extra cost to us. Providing the chairs, tables, and decor really saves tons of extra money, and details that need not to be though about.
Our entire family still boosts about how unique this wedding was

Vanessa and other event staff were wonderful. The servers we hired were very happy and helpful during the reception. The retail staff wasn't the most friendly or nicest to us during our designated set up time though (we understand they were still in retail hours but we were told we could be there at 4 to set up). They weren't friendly or accommodating to us even though there weren't any customers in the store. That would be our only complaint. But Vanessa and her team were excellent and we would recommend her to anyone.

We loved our wedding here at Cactus and Tropicals. Megan, the coordinator, was absolutely the best to work with. She made sure everything looked beautiful, and had very helpful suggestions. Our wedding was on a hot June day, and we didn't even notice inside the venue. Everything about the venue is so gorgeous! The plants and flowers give such a great ambience, it is impossible to be stressed out in such a place. We had many more guests show up than we intended, but Megan And her team pulled out more chairs right there on the spot for no extra charge. My husband and I didn't even know about the seating problem until after we talked about the reception with our families. You will be taken care of with the utmost professionalism and kindness here! The price is unbeatable as well. You get to use their plants/flowers as centerpieces and decorations. We saved SO much money because of this. My husband and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding.

Vanessa was wonderful to work with. She was on top of things which made it easy for us to enjoy our son's wedding and reception.
