Chris and Morgan did a wonderful job at our wedding. Their calm, upbeat personalities were in line with the vibe we were going for on our wedding day- low stress and positive! Not only were their personalities great, but our photos turned out amazing! They know how to capture great shots without interrupting the flow of the day. They never felt intrusive or pushy in trying to capture shots.

And during the planning stages of the wedding they were very quick to respond, very clear in next steps, and helped us work through our shot list to feel fully prepared for the big day. The engagement shoot included in our photo package really helped us get to know them and feel comfortable with them before the big day, as well.

I would recommend them to any friend getting married in the Charleston area. Thank you again, Chris and Morgan!!

Absolutely recommend Chris as a wedding photographer! Truthfully we did not do much research on photographers and hired Chris based off of a recommendation from friends. The "leap of faith" was a great decision! The price was incredible for the quality of work and service - the package includes a 1-hour engagement shoot or bridal portraits, a second shooter on the day-of the wedding (his wife!) and an adorably packaged flash drive with all of your picture files. We initially did not want to do bridal portraits or engagement photos, but Chris encouraged us to do the engagement photos so that he could get to know us and we are very happy that we did because it made us much more comfortable on the wedding day. For both the engagement photos and the wedding day Chris was flexible and very considerate about our interests and ideas for photos while also guiding us toward what would work best. On the day of the wedding, while Chris was with the bridal party, his wife Morgan took photos of the groomsmen. She made them feel so at ease and they truthfully did not realize that she took any pictures, yet she got fantastic candid photos that we loved!

Working with Chris and Morgan was an absolute pleasure, from the first meeting to receiving our photos after the big day. Getting the right photographer was one of most important things to me when we began planning our wedding, and I feel like we hit the ball out of the park. I picked C. S. Nelson first because I loved the photos they had taken at other weddings, and was later so thankful Chris was so responsive and easy to work with when the planning crunch set in, about a month out from the wedding. On the day of, he and Morgan were so incredibly on top of it and kept everything rolling smoothly. It was also such a nice bonus to have Morgan, his wife, as a second shooter. We have great photos of both the groomsmen and bridesmaids getting ready now, and beautiful photos from different perspectives.
Our biggest challenge will be picking which of the gorgeous photos they took to print and hang!

C.S. Nelson Photography was amazing. The communication and professionalism from the beginning to the end was great. I loved the fact that it was a husband and wife team. The pictures that I received are so beautiful and creative. I would recommend C.S Nelson for any photography needs.

I was so nervous to get my engagement pictures done, but from the moment we meant Chris he made us feel so comfortable and relaxed! I would recommend CS Nelson Photograhpy!! And our pictures turned out amazing!

Chris and Morgan are amazing! I loved that either an engagement shoot or bridal portrait shoot was including in the wedding package. We chose to do an engagement session and this allowed us to get comfortable with Chris and feel even more confident about our pictures! They're both so down to earth and excellent photographers. They captured our magical day and we have so enjoyed reliving it through the beautiful pictures! I would highly recommend C.S. Nelson!!!!

C.S. Nelson Photography beautifully captured our big day on 11/11/17 and we could not be any happier with the photos that we received from them! Not only were the photos breath taking, but the photographers themselves were so personable and flexible through the entire process! I would recommend C.S. We absolutely LOVED working with Chris & Morgan. We worked to schedule bridal portraits and wedding photos from across the country, and they turned out better than we could have ever expected! Chris was very responsive throughout the planning process, and was super easy going-- just like us, which made for a great time working together! We were both very camera shy but he quickly worked to make us feel comfortable and not as "awkward." We absolutely loved our bridal and wedding photos! I would highly recommend him for bridal, engagement, or wedding photography-- his work is amazing!

Chris was hands down THE BEST PART of our wedding (you know, besides the whole getting married while surrounded by our families part). We had a very intimate, unconventional destination wedding in Charleston, and the photography was our primary concern and expense. We would've spared no expense to capture our big day, but Chris's elopement package was shockingly reasonable. We received high-resolution and low-resolution digital copies with rights release of nearly 500 photos captured in two hours. Chris was very clear about his packages and pricing, and there were no surprises. He was thorough and thoughtful leading up to our wedding day, and we received the photos in about three weeks (on the early end of the promised timeframe).

Finding the perfect photographer long distance was no easy feat - so many photographers wanted us to jump through hoops so they could "get to know us" and pressured us to book an engagement shoot with them. We were engaged for 2.5 years and were well past that part! Chris was exceptionally prompt and responsive, but he has an easygoing, conversational style, and we felt like we hit it off long before we finally met in person. We liked him immediately upon meeting him - and he got to work right away! He put us at ease instantly and coached us through posing in a way that felt natural and not at all awkward (we required a LOT of help - and his poses turned out better than the ones that we came up with).

So, that's the nitty gritty stuff... now for what really matters - the images. There. Are. No. Words. Seriously. Just look at them. You know how people say that photographers "have a good eye?" We THOUGHT we knew what that meant. We didn't. Until we saw the photos Chris captured. Holy crap - WE WERE THERE, and we didn't see what he saw through his lens. There are literally things in our photos that we didn't know were there until we received the photos! See those gourds? We didn't know those were there. HOW DID HE DO THAT?!

Chris is an incredible photographer and wonderful to work with. He did an amazing job of capturing so many perfect moments without us feeling like we were always stopping to pose for photos. We worked with Chris for both our engagement pictures and the wedding pictures and everything exceeded our expectations - we were completely blown away with the quality of his work and the quantity of amazing photos we received.

Chris and Morgan are a Dynamic Duo! For us choosing a photographer was one of our most important planning decisions. And we are so glad that we went with C.S. Nelson! They exceeded our expectations!
Our wedding and engagement photographs are stunning! We have looked through our wedding photos almost everyday since we received them. The story our wedding day was captured in every essence. The artistry and emotion in each picture is breath taking. The day of was such a whirlwind and now we are able to reminisce and cherish it.
Chris was very accommodating, punctual and helpful throughout the planning process and the day of. And they both helped us feel at ease in front of the camera. We opted for a first look and in the moment we didn't feel that the cameras were invasive whatsoever. Also, I will be forever grateful that Morgan came to the rescue when my dress ripped before the ceremony. And to top it off our pictures arrived timely and uniquely packaged.

I am beyond grateful we found Chris. A co-worker highly recommended Chris to us for wedding photography so I reached out immediately to schedule our engagement pictures. We had our engagement session at Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant and it was absolutely magical. Chris even let us bring our puppy along and was so patient with us while we handled him during our session. It was a little dreary, but we hardly noticed; we had a BLAST! Chris's positive energy and direction helped to make the photos look so effortlessly beautiful. After he gave us a sneak peak of the photos we were ecstatic and couldn't wait to see the rest of them! I also really appreciated the candidness of the pictures- that is what we loved the most. The pictures perfectly captured this exciting time for us and it wouldn't have been possible without Chris. Chris and Morgan have been incredible throughout this process. We had a destination wedding in Charleston and knew little about the photographers in the area. After reading some reviews I reached out to Chris and had a phone conversation with him for about 30 mins. After we hung up I knew Chris was the photographer we wanted to use. Communication was very easy throughout the planning process. He recommended the perfect idea for our first look and bridal party shots and was extremely organized. The day of the wedding they went above and beyond! They new all the important shots I wanted. Chris and Morgan where there to the rescue. They helped the guys fold the pocket squares and sewed my dress that ripped. We hate being in front of the camera or so we thought. They made us feel extremely comfortable. If this wasn't enough their pictures absolutely blew us away. The final product is amazing. We laughed and cried while looking through them and will forever cherish these memories. I would with out a doubt recommend Chris and Morgan!

My husband and I used Chris for both our wedding photos and our engagement photos. Both sets of photos were above and beyond our expectations. Chris and Morgan were such a pleasure to work with. Chris is extremely responsive when emailing and helped the planning and wedding daygo smoothly. He even put up with is insiting on including our crazy dogs in engagement and wedding pictures! Their prices were extremely reasonable, and I know that we got a fantastic deal between engagement photos and having 2 photographers for our wedding day! We were so happy with all of the photos we got and wedding guests were commenting on how "all over the place" they were, especially on the dance floor (which made for some amazing candid shots)! We hired C.S. Nelson Photography for our wedding in February, and we are so happy we did! Chris and his equally talented wife, Morgan, took the most beautiful posed shots of our family and friends, and they were somehow able to magically capture every single hilarious/touching/important candid moment that happened during our ceremony and reception as well. I've seen some others comment about how they help eliminate that awkward feeling of being in front of the camera, and I would 100% say that's true - they made it so easy! They also got our finished images back to us sooner than expected, which is so great when family and friends are excited to see them. We would absolutely hire this talented duo again!

I can't say enough good things about Chris and his wife Morgan. They are wonderful and fun! My husband and I were nervous to take our engagement photos because we didn't know how to pose, but Chris walked us through every step. Our photos turned out absolutely amazing and we cannot wait to see our wedding photos. Chris is affordable and EXTREMELY talented. It was an absolute pleasure working with Chris and Morgan on our wedding. Photographers in Charleston are plentiful, but they truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a positive experience. Our photos were beautiful. The quality, lighting, and execution were thoughtfully considered and professionally executed. Also, they may have cloned themselves to capture the many details of our wedding. Every hug, teary eye, and silly dance move was captured on film. They were everywhere, but somehow managed to be unobtrusive. I'd also recommend engagement photos- it was a wonderful chance to get to know each other and Chris was incredibly helpful in giving quick, simple directions to direct our (sometimes awkward) selves into positions that photographed well. This helped determine our style and capture our personality in our wedding photos. Their prices were more reasonable than many other photographers we considered, and I can't imagine getting a better value. The photography was top-rate, but when having a wedding on a budget this sweetened the whole deal. Our wedding was Nov 12, and we received the completed package well before Christmas. This quick turnaround was such a nice surprise- allowing us to share our wedding photos with friends and family, including our grandmothers who couldn't make the trip. In addition to producing beautiful photos, Chris and Morgan were a lot of fun- their kind, cheerful, detail-oriented and responsive natures made them a pleasure to work with.

Chris took our engagement photos in Charleston. He was recommended by my brother and his wife who had used him to photograph engagement photos as well as their wedding. He was so easy to work with and was extremely flexible with coordinating our schedules in order to get the pictures taken. He had great ideas for backgrounds and poses but was very responsive to what we wanted as well. We had a great time taking pics with him...even my fiance (haha)! I got my proofs back less than 10 days after my session and was thrilled how they turned out! He really captured my fiance and I as a couple...not overly cheesy or out of our character which i really appreciated! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with C.S. Nelson Photography!! I only wish I was getting married in Charleston so I could use him for my wedding!! I have already recommended him to several of my close friends in the area who have recently got engaged and are looking for photographers!

We recently got married in September and booked Chris as our photographer a while back. We did enegament photos and they were amazing! We could not wait to see what our wedding photos would look like and they were absolutely amazing! My husband and I eloped to Charleston, SC from Canada this past September and had Chris as our wedding photographer. Booking Chris was by far the best decision we made during our wedding planning - he was absolutely amazing! From the beginning he was extremely responsive and flexible, and incredibly accommodating to our (many) questions about ideas and locations. Our wedding happened to fall in the middle of a tropical storm, but we had SO much fun working with Chris in the pouring rain! We just received our photos and could not be happier with the work he's done. Chris is such a talented professional and a fantastic person to share your big day with. Chris was so great to work with!! We were looking for a photographer for our engagement pictures while on vacation in Charleston, and am so happy we found Chris. He was extremely easy to communicate with, and made us feel very comfortable while shooting! The pictures turned out absolutely beautiful- the soft lighting and gorgeous backgrounds were simply stunning. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for an easy-going, talented photographer!

Chris and Morgan were so fun to work with on our wedding day! They made sure to capture every little detail, but I barely even noticed they were there. We had some southern thunder come through during our ceremony and reception, but Chris stayed calm and used the changing weather and light to our advantage and our photos turned out beautiful. He really kept us at ease and helped us enjoy every second of our wedding! We highly recommend!!

If you are looking for someone to capture every magical moment of your wedding then this is the team for you! We had our engagement photos done with Chris and we had no idea what we were doing but he guided us through every step! And the photos were absolutely gorgeous, thus, our wedding photos came out stunning! I cannot be more happy with the quality of photos taken by Chris and his wife. They are the reason we have the amazing, beautiful, and incredible wedding photos we cherish to look back and remember all the details of the day. They took all the regular photos we requested with the wedding party and families but their capability shines through their ability to capture all the natural, moment by moment interactions; the tears of joy, the laughter, the glowing atmosphere of love. I have printed off every single photo they delivered to me because I adore each and every one. Chris and his wife Morgan were amazing. We got every picture we wanted plus some. He was so easy to work with the entire process. Very professional at the wedding. got our pictures back in less time than we thought. Packaging was very nice. All pictures and release went on a flash drive. Can't wait to use them again. We used C.S. Nelson Photography for both our engagement pictures and our wedding day. Chris was great to work with, I even had a guest ask if we knew him personally because of how well he worked with everyone. Our pictures are beautiful, he captured our day better then we imagined. Chris went above and beyond for both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. I searched through so many Charleston photographers and met with a couple of them, but we chose Chris due to his photography style, price-point ( you wont find better quality for the price), friendliness, promptness, and the fact he also photographs families should we choose to have family pics done in the future. We were very happy with our choice! For our engagement shoot, he had great ideas for certain pictures and settings which ultimately turned out wonderfully. On our wedding day, he came to the salon to photograph us getting ready and then the whole wedding and reception. He was unobtrusive, yet was there every step of the way. I think our favorite thing about Chris's work was that he gave my now husband and I the direction we needed to capture the perfect pictures, and his quality is beautiful and soft. He delivered our wedding photos in the most awesome little wooden signature box on a wooden jump drive, in a timely manner. What a great presentation! We plan on using him again in the future. I highly recommend C.S. Nelson Photography. This husband and wife duo exceeded all expectations--and that speaks volumes when are a perfectionist like myself! Chris took the time to answer all my questions and meet with us to make sure that he addressed any and all concerns I had before our big day. As a couple that has never had pictures professionally taken, he made us feel comfortable and asked poignant questions to gauge our style and really captured the essence of us as a couple. His wife, the second shooter, captured stunning candid photos as well and they were always there for the moments but at the same time we never really knew they were there. The quality, the vision, the moments that were captured and are now forever imprinted in time are stunning. And, the box that it comes in and the thumb drive is a bonus! Every single person that has seen our wedding album make the comment, "Wow, you could not have picked more perfect photographers!" and they are right. With all the research I did, and all the turns in the road that lead me to finding them, it was meant to be and needless to say they come highly recommended. If they have an availability for your date, trust me....BOOK THEM ASAP!

We contacted Chris last minute while we were making a trip to Charleston to do some engagement photos. He was so helpful and accommodating. He was kind, professional and made us feel so comfortable. He promised our photos in two weeks and we got them a few days under the two week mark. We loved our pictures and our family and friends won't stop talking about what a great job he did. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chris Nelson! Not only is he an AMAZING photographer and super professional, he's also laid back enough to make you feel very comfortable - no matter the occasion! I have used Chris Nelson for my bridal portraits, wedding photos, maternity photos, newborn photos of my daughter, and in a couple of weeks he will be shooting my daughter's one year old birthday photos. Obviously you can see, my husband and I love working with him and have never been disappointed by Chris. The thing about Chris is that he makes you feel very comfortable if you don't know how to 'model'. AND he is completely 100% dedicated to you as a client. For example, on my wedding day Chris started to photograph my bridesmaids and I as we were getting ready, around 10 a.m. Chris stayed the entire wedding, which was over at 10 p.m. He pays attention to every little detail! Chris is an absolute amazing photographer. I used CSN photography for my wedding and they were all very easy going but still very professional at the same time. The team made sure to capture every moment of our wedding and reception and I couldn't be happier with the pictures they got. We hired Chris for both our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. Our engagement pictures were so great that we knew we had to have him for our wedding. He was absolutely perfect! We were so happy we decided to go with him. He is very easy going and all of the pictures he had us pose for felt very natural as opposed to very staged. Some photographers are particular about how and what pictures they take, and how long you give them to take them. Chris wasn't at all, he was open to doing whatever we wanted. He took all of the pictures we requested on our shot list and many many more. All of our wedding party loved him as well. He also offers much more affordable options than a lot of the other photographers in the area. All of the pictures we got back were amazing, and there's hardly a bad one in the bunch (and it's a big bunch). I would definitely recommend him to ANYONE! :)

Chris captured our special day with enthusiasm and a keen eye. Our guests even said, "Every time we turned around, there he was!" While he was always there to capture every moment, he kept the right distance and didn't "intrude." Chris was fantastic. He was super quick to respond to our questions via email and get us booked for our engagement photos. The cost is incredibly affordable for what you get and he turned around the photos pretty quickly with instructions on how to use us photo link. During the shoot, he was super laid back and made us feel comfortable doing, what can be, a very awkward interaction sometimes. We only got to spend a short 2 hours with him for this shoot, but I would certainly recommend him to friends and family. Thanks, Chris!
