Butter and Vine really outdid themselves at our 8/13/22 wedding. My husband and I were initially a little nervous choosing them as our caterer because of the lack of reviews (there was only 1 review back when we booked them), but they were indisputably amazing throughout the entire process, and especially on the wedding day! Choosing Butter and Vine was the best decision we made for our wedding.
Sue is such a pleasure to work with. She is kind, funny, and really knows her stuff. Butter and Vine may be a new business, but they operate as if their employees have been working together for years! We heard other catering companies have been struggling with staff, but Sue and her team are like family and have had no issues whatsoever with keeping their staff. There were plenty of servers at our wedding and everyone received their food in a very timely manner.
Now that we are through talking logistics - holy cow was the food incredible!! We had guests from the East coast tell us that the scallops they had at our wedding were the best they had ever tasted. Everyone was truly raving about the food. My husband and I had a little of everything on our plates (we went with artichoke risotto, scallops, and short rib for entrees), and I can safely say that everything tasted even better on the wedding night than it did at our tasting a few months before! Rest assured, you are in good hands with Butter and Vine.

Butter and Vine were phenomenal and Rich + his exceptional team exceeded every expectation for our memorable wedding; and were a joy to work with!
We are incredibly grateful that Rich agreed to cater our intimate celebration, given they are known for much larger, elaborate events. From the very beginning, Rich and his staff were professional, knowledgeable, organized, and truly committed to bringing our vision to life.
Our guests are still talking about the food—every dish was absolutely delicious. The quality, flavors, and presentation were perfection, and the compliments continued long after the night ended.
We are also deeply thankful to the team for setting up our beautiful outdoor beach ceremony and creating an elegant reception space that was perfection! The staff were attentive, kind, and consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything was flawless.
We could not have asked for a better experience with such a highly skilled and professional team. We would recommend them wholeheartedly to any couple looking for exceptional food, service, and a team that truly cares about you and your vision! -

Butter & Vine catered our daughter’s wedding at the Crawford in Naperville. A+ in all regards! Their attention to detail was noteworthy. The presentation of the food was elegant. The taste was delicious. The service was professional and attentive — but not overbearing. And, the execution was flawless. We worked mostly with Rich Levy — who, from the beginning until the very end, was beyond accommodating and delivered spectacularly on his commitments. -

My husband and I chose Butter & Vine for our New Year's Eve wedding celebration at Sarabande Chicago. From the moment we had our tasting with Rich Levy, we were impressed with the company and our experience. The team goes above and beyond to accommodate your vision and your preferences, and the food is among the best wedding food we've ever had. Rebeca made choosing our tablewares fun and easy. Everyone who worked the event was professional and friendly. Our guests absolutely loved the food. I ony wish my husband and I had eaten more! Thank you, Butter & Vine! -

Save yourself some time and hire Butter+Vine right now! Sue, Rich, and the whole team made our wedding reception memorable for us and all of our guests. We were about to sign a contract with a different caterer when we attended another wedding with Butter+Vine and we knew immediately that we had to change course. Everything tasted phenomenal - from creative appetizers to delicious main courses to custom cocktails. Sue was beyond accommodating at our tasting, tweaking recipes and making sure the menus represented what we wanted. She graciously helped us change our dessert options mere weeks before the big day. We felt so loved and cared for during our reception by everyone on the catering team, and our guests RAVED about the food!! We can't say enough good things about Butter+Vine!! -

The Best Catering Team
It's impossible to express how pleased we are with B+V! Choosing them for catering and rentals for our fall wedding was the best decision. The food was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond. Their attentiveness and assistance throughout the night ensured everything ran smoothly. A huge thanks to this fantastic team! Our guests were impressed by the food, and we've had numerous friends and family inquire about our caterers, planning to hire them for their weddings. Outstanding Wedding Food
Rich & Sue were lovely to work with for our wedding. We chose to work with B&V because their tasting impressed us. We anticipated tasting just one portion of each selection, but they brought out full-size portion per person. We had so much leftovers that Sue packed everything up for us to take home. At the tasting, B&V set up the proposed platings, had a head server wait on us, and had champagne waiting for us. It was a magical tasting experience, that we ultimately decided to work with B&V for our wedding. All 125 guests at our wedding complimented the food, and said our food was the best wedding food they've ever tasted. In particular, everyone praised the soup (in a little carved out pumpkin) with the salad. My family (who is not particularly keen on western food) enjoyed every bit of the appetizers, the soup and salad, and their main course. Best of all, Rich was so flexible on our payment schedules. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to have B&V cater our wedding. Pick them, you won't be disappointed. -

Rich & Sue from Butter and Vine were wonderful to work with. We are big foodies and from the start looking across other vendors, Butter & Vine had the most options and were flexible in hearing our vision for our big day. They incorporated our cultures into the food choices as I am Taiwanese and my wife is Mexican.
Additionally, they were one of the only caterers that let you do a tasting before signing the contract and their food tasted amazing! When it came to the wedding day, Butter and Vine delivered on great food, great service, and great organization throughout the entire night. Shoutout to Jesse who kept us eating and drinking all night. We could not recommend Butter and Vine enough! -

We did a lot of research for making our caterer decision for our 200+ person wedding. Our venue had a recommended list and Butter & Vine was on there and for great reason. We reached out and from the start Rich and Sue blew us away. They were so thoughtful, patient and collaborative with us. It ultimately led to a no brainer decision to pick them.
Their incredible service only continued to show after we picked them as they took a very thoughtful approach to making sure that our menu great for our day and work with our budget.
The tasting was such a blast thanks to Sue and the team for yet again being so thoughtful about what they served us and why. She was so great with explaining it all to us and how we should be thinking about each part of the meal.
The day of their service was above and beyond, they took care of all of our guests and were so attentive and extra thoughtful with my wife and I. Our day truly would not have been the same if it were not for their service and amazing food for our 8.11.23 wedding at Salvage One.
We had so many guests rave about the food and how great the service was. We cannot say thank you enough to Sue and Rich and the team for how great they were to work with.
Certainly for not the last time, thank you so much for making our special day even more special than we could have imagined.
If you are getting married and are looking for a catering company that will work with you to bring your vision to life or even help create that vision in a collaborative and thoughtful way you have to go with Butter and Vine! -

We are so happy we chose Butter & Vine as our wedding caterer. They were extremely flexible and helped us customize a cocktail party style reception with two themed stations and passed hours d’oeuvres to create a party that was unique and perfectly “us”. Even after we pivoted from a traditional sit-down dinner to cocktail party, they brought us in for a second tasting to make us feel confident in the new direction we were taking.
We served desserts from a bakery and even though they were not through the caterer, B&V let us drop them off at their kitchen the day before the wedding, refrigerated them, brought them to the venue and served dessert without any hesitation.
We worked with Sue who we felt comfortable with from the start. She helped us create and expand our vision in ways we needed the help with…floor plan, table arrangements and sizes and last minute linen selections (when we thought we were done making decisions!) which turned out gorgeous!
They kept our budget in mind with every decision which was extremely refreshing as wedding expenses grew. The Butter & Vine team has so much wedding knowledge and expertise and their role in our planning process well surpassed what is expected from a caterer. Thank you Rich, Sue and Team! -

First things first - the food was absolutely excellent. The toughest part of our experience with Butter and Vine was choosing between so many terrific hors d'oeuvres, salads, main courses, and desserts. We enjoyed everything we tried. Don't sleep on the vegetarian options!
Butter and Vine were everything we could ask for in a partner for our wedding. They were able to accommodate every request we had without issues. There was always a good line of communication - questions answered timely and completely. Sue was also a good consultant for matters even beyond what we would have expected out of a caterer and helpful with other aspects of our wedding (helping with the scheduling and being a de facto liaison between all of our vendors at some points). We felt attended to at every point in our wedding day. Simply an outstanding job.
Their tasting was a lot of fun as well. If you have any interest in Butter and Vine catering your event, I highly recommend giving them an opportunity to show off their craft. -

Whether you go with their "Butter and Vine" or "Challah and Wine" option, Rich and Sue are the best of the best. Both the quality of their food or drinks and service can't be beat. Choosing them over the default players in the industry for a Kosher wedding couldn't have been a better choice. I can't even count the number of guests from every background that pulled me aside only to say that their food was by far the best they've ever had at a wedding of any kind. I can't think of a better testament for Butter and Vine, Challah and Wine, or Rich and Sue. They epitomize the best in class. -

Butter & Vine was my wife and my wedding caterer a few weeks ago, and we, along with all of our guests, LOVED everything! I've had a minimum of 20 guests tell me that our food was the best wedding food they've ever had.
Their pricing was in line with the quotes we received from other caterers so our original decision to move forward was based on a delicious tasting and being comfortable working with Sue. It was very easy to work with Sue throughout the entire process.
We are 100% sure that Butter & Vine was the perfect caterer for our wedding! -

Butter and Vine is an amazing caterer, so creative, innovative and the food is delicious! I enjoyed working with Sue and Reuben on all of the details of our Roaring 20's Gala at the Stan Mansion. They are the nicest people and work very well with your budget. They were also very creative throughout the menu planning process. I couldn't have asked for a better company to work with. We cannot say enough good things about Butter & Vine! They went above and beyond from our tasting to our wedding day. We worked with Sue but also had a chance to meet Ruben and Rich. The entire team was always available for us whenever we had questions. Sue met with us on multiple occasions in-person and over the phone. She is an expert on all things catering and weddings! Needless to say, service was great and the food was even better! Our guests are still telling us how much they loved the food at our wedding. Butter & Vine even created a signature cocktail for us that we named after our dog. They made sure our entire day was perfect. We highly recommend them! -

The team at Butter & Vine did the catering for our wedding on 10/02/21 and I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly amazing everything was! It's not an exaggeration when I tell you that nearly all 136 guests that night complimented us on how stellar the food and catering service was.
From the initial tasting, we knew Butter and Vine was the caterer for us. We wanted to have a lot of fun with our wedding food, so things like dressed up sliders, street tacos and a ranch dressing fountain were on the menu. The team had just as much fun as we did tasting and trying everything and it was such a fun and unique experience.
Sue is an absolute angel, a character and downright lovely human being. She always kept us laughing and was always on top of every detail. There is so much going on behind the scenes at all times and Sue and her team thrive in that environment!
Also, I feel like a lot of people reading this will appreciate this additional context. As it stands today (10/24/21), you're not going to see a lot of reviews for Butter and Vine like you would for other catering companies. Why? It's because this is a newer company that has pulled people like Sue with years of industry experience to create catering magic. The newer company plus the pandemic obviously has slowed things down, but don't let that detour you. This isn't their first rodeo - promise!
Book a tasting with Sue and Butter and Vine! You'll see what I mean and I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

I lost track of the number of times my wedding guests told me this was the best wedding food they'd ever had. It seems like Butter & Vine can take any request and make it happen. Not only is the food amazing, but Sue is the kindest to work with. When we showed up at our venue to take pictures, I asked her if there was any coffee available. Less than ten minutes later, there were multiple Dunkin Donuts coffees delivered. I'd highly recommend Butter and Vine to anyone.
