I have worked here for a while and they have some of the best food! If you are looking for fancy services, this is your place.
Very good food & service. Very expensive, but I would say well worth it. -

Amazing food
Our wedding meal was one of the best meals I've ever had. Truly incredible. The staff was kind, and our day went off without a hitch. My only grievance was the lack of a single, comprehensive rentals catalog - not every couple wants to wait until the tasting to decide on table setting and decor, and the communication around the rentals wasn't great, but also somewhat understandable because of the weird times we were in when planning. I would still definitely recommend Butler's Pantry because the quality of the food was amazing and the staff does care. -

Butlers over delivered with amazing food!
I highly recommend Butlers Pantry. Their staff is so kind, pleasant, eager-to-please, and professional. I was most impressed with their creativity and flexibility: We had a Nigerian-American wedding and Butlers substituted one of their dishes and made our traditional Jollof Rice with Chicken. Seriously, at the tasting we were more than impressed. On the day of their wedding their staff was so lovely. And everyone, and I mean EVERYONE said that the food was divine! Thanks for everything BP. -

Accommodating and lovely
This company along with its members made our couples shower and wedding very memorable. They helped us pick out a beautiful menu and drinks and the staff are very friendly. They have a certain professionalism and attitude that kept our guests satisfied the whole night. Would recommend them for many occasions. -

From the first time connecting with Coleen to Chelsea and her team on-site during the wedding day, my husband and I felt Butler's Pantry went above and beyond in their service. Our venue was a blank slate so Butler's Pantry had to bring in everything. They did not disappoint and our reception looked amazing! The chairs, table, place settings and buffet display were beautiful. All of our guests raved about how good the food was and how beautifully the buffet was displayed. The servers even went and asked kids (who didn't originally sign up for a kids meal) if they wanted one and made it happen. We had multiple food allergies and the staff was wonderfully accommodating and everything was served to the correct people. We knew the night was going to go well when we arrived at our outdoor ceremony/reception venue (during 90-degree heat after taking bridal party photos) and 3 staff met us with water and kept checking on the whole bridal party. The whole staff checked on us throughout the night and the staff leaders checked on us before they left at the end of the evening. They were all wonderful, kind, helpful, professional and the food tasted AMAZING! We are so glad we chose Butler's Pantry! -

Butlers pantry is fantastic. Their food is delicious. I had guests tell me it was by far the best wedding food they had ever had. Their staff is very nice and super responsive. They made us feel comfortable that the day would go smoothly and despite some odd weather it was perfect and the staff was great! -

I am so happy we chose Butler's Pantry as our wedding reception caterer!! Kat C. was awesome to work with--so responsive and helpful. With her there, I knew everything was running smoothly, and I think it makes a difference when the venue and the vendor work together frequently. I received many compliments on the food, and their service was equally impressive. Since my husband and I missed the cocktail hour for photos, the staff even set a tray of appetizers on our table to enjoy when we were seated for dinner! I would definitely recommend them and hire them in the future for my catering needs! -

Butler's Pantry went above and beyond as the caterer for our wedding.
From the beginning, I was impressed by Elisa, our Catering Manager. She was extremely responsive and anticipated our needs before we could even think of them! Elisa kept us right on track with timelines and was flexible when we suggested new ideas to her. She even worked to order donuts from our favorite donut shop for our dessert and helped me connect with a rental company for my decor needs. Whenever I got stuck on a planning question, I just sent a note to Elisa. She would respond immediately with an answer or a suggestion for whom to contact. Then, on the day of our wedding, Elisa and her team worked seamlessly and silently to present our appetizers, dinner, and dessert. I would have forgotten they were there if delicious food didn't keep appearing!
Beyond Elisa, our food from Butler's was a big hit with our guests. People raved about the short rib taco appetizer and the beef tenderloin entree - one of our guests cleaned his plate and the plates of two other guests! I would definitely recommend Butler's if you want great service, expertise, and amazing food. -

Butler's Pantry was wonderful to work with. The food is delicious, the choices are creative and fun, and the team on the day-of did an amazing job. I knew that with Butler's Pantry as my caterer, I wouldn't have to worry about anything. Highly recommend. -

After working with Butler's Pantry, we would immediately recommend them to anyone looking to hire a caterer for their wedding. From the outset, they were professional, courteous, accommodating, and helpful. They guided us through every step of the planning process and did an amazing job on the day of our wedding. The services they provide are extremely comprehensive and that truly helps to alleviate a lot of the stress that comes along with planning a wedding. We received a TON of compliments on the food and many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. The day-of staff was not only professional, dependable, and attentive, but they remained positive and upbeat even though our wedding was outside in 97 degree heat. Everything from the food tasting to the service during the wedding was top of the line and we were blown away.
Our specific point of contact at Butler's Pantry was Bridget and we certainly couldn't have had the wedding of our dreams if it wasn't for her. She was always there when we needed her and supported our decisions throughout the process. She remained in constant communication with us throughout the planning process and she always provided us with prompt and detailed answers to our questions. Additionally, she was a huge help during our rehearsal in that she was able to keep the bridal party organized while effectively communicating to everyone their role. On top of that, she made sure we had everything we needed and more during the ceremony and reception and quite honestly, she went above and beyond our expectations. Bridget was a total joy to work with and a great reflection of Butler's Pantry as a whole.

Since about 3/4 of our guests were from out of town, my daughter wanted the venue to be something to showcase St. Louis instead of a generic hotel ballroom. The Missouri History Museum uses Butler's Pantry as their exclusive caterer. My daughter, her fiance, my husband and I were wowed at the tasting and excited about serving our guests such fabulous food. I did corporate event planning in various cities across the country and know the difficulties of preparing a large quantity of food and have the hot foods served hot and the cold foods served cold. We had the Contemporary Beef Wellington and the meat was fork tender. Our guests raved it about it throughout the evening! A relative is a professional musician on the East Coast and has had hundreds of meals at weddings, bar mitzvahs and corporate events and he said this was the best food he has ever tasted! Bridget was our banquet manager and she answered every question and honored our multiple requests. The wait staff, bartenders and security guards were friendly and attentive. Some reviews complained that the cost was excessive, but we believe you get what you pay for. Every aspect of a wedding today is expensive, but we felt the dinner was the place to splurge. Every penny we soent was worth it because every guest went home happy and satisfied. Most importantly, my daughter and her new husband had a perfect reception! -

These guys were amazing! Catering for a wedding, as I discovered, can get quite pricey. They were worth every penny we spent with them.
I worked with Sarah and she was fantastic. I changed my mind a lot when it came to setting up the menu. She was extremely helpful with this and was very quick to respond to me any time I had a question or wanted to make another change.
The food was amazing! I did not hear one complaint from a single person about the food. And, with my family and friends, I think that's saying quite a bit. -

Kimberly was fantastic. She was very fun, full of ideas, willing to try new and innovative techniques.
She provided her expertise, but allowed us to provide our opinions and she respected our wishes.
She assisted in our wedding re-shoot after our photographer (i-do digipics) lost ALL of our photos and was very sympathetic to our situation.
I would recommend Kimberly to everyone!

Covid craziness
Butler’s Pantry was amazing and extremely delightful to work with during our daughter’s wedding reception at our home at the end of October 2020. Last minute changes were easily made to accommodate weather and safety of our guests. Food was absolutely delicious! Outdoor heaters were greatly appreciated. Many thanks!!! -

Butler's Pantry was one of many catering companies I could pick from at my venue. They were by far the most professional. I had a very large wedding and everyone still talks about the food which lets face it, is unheard of. The beef was cooked perfectly and still warm. Presentation was great even though they had to build a kitchen on site. Everyone was working extra hard to make sure everything went out in a timely manner. the Appetizers were great and the bartenders were a delight! Highly recommend Butlers Pantry! Bridget and her team did a great job! -

While making our rounds during dinner, we asked our guests if they were enjoying the food, and the look on their faces matched the words that came out of their mouth, "This is the best wedding food I've ever had!"
We had a buffet catered for 120 people and everything was spectacular. Food was delicious, hot, and well-presented. Full bar service was great. Each member of the staff was always asking about how myself and my husband were or if there was anything else needed. They were able to provide a vegan option for my photographer.
The catering director was wonderful to work with, having both great suggestions and being flexible to our requests.
Not having an official tasting was only a minor stumbling block -- the free brunch at Cafe Madeline more than compensated us! Having tasted the caliber of food served there, we were confident in their abilities.
Bravo! -

I would absolutely recommend Butler's Pantry in the future. The food is top-notch, and Samantha is great to work with. There a few reasons I didn't give them a perfect 5 rating. There is no way to sample the food choices PRIOR to choosing your menu for your event which was a nice service offered by other caterers. Just because you like chicken marsala in general doesn't necessarily mean you'll like it prepared the way Butler's Pantry makes it. It would be great if you could sample a few items that sound delicious, but you aren't quite sure if you'd like them or not. Also, Butler's Pantry doesn't offer a complimentary tasting of the selected foods to receptions that will be buffet service. You only get complimentary brunch for up to 6 people at the PIper Palm House which will allow you to taste the quality of their food in general but not the actual selections. If you want to taste the actual selections, it is $200 I believe!! Yowza. Also, we wanted to have dinner service wine, but were told it was $4 per person for every person over the age of 21 regardless of whether they drink it or not. Also, there would most likely only be one glass of wine provided for that $4 per person. Seemed steep! -

We recently had our wedding reception at The Palladium, Butler's Pantry's newest venue site, and we had a very good experience with the company. Focusing on Butler's Pantry itself, the food was wonderful: we picked a very innovative and unique menu and it turned out great. We had a large reception and everyone there seemed to be very, very pleased and impressed with the food. The only issue we had was that one of the items we'd chosen for the menu accidentally was left off of the final menu and was not a part of the food, but we still had plenty and we were compensated for the missing food. Focusing on the venue site, The Palladium is the coolest venue in St Louis! It is just incredible; we booked the venue when it was still under construction and had our fingers crossed that it would turn out the way it was depicted in the concept drawings, and we were not disappointed. It was just incredible; people couldn't' get over what a great venue it was. I highly recommend the Palladium to anyone who is having a large wedding (it accommodates up to 400, which is hard to find in St Louis outside of hotel ballrooms), and it has a very cool, city vibe. We were thrilled with the place! -

Butler's Pantry was the default option for catering at our venue, and they did a great job (catering is a very demanding role at a wedding!).
The process of choosing menu items, sides, etc. was very typical of other caterers and went smoothly. We had a special request that they accommodated very nicely (a signature non-alcoholic drink to serve during our cocktail hour). Our particular BP representative did a great job working with us.
The pricing is a little high, but I think it is worth it if you want to have a reliable, professional caterer. It included things that other caterers may charge extra for (cutting the cake, etc.). Also, in my opinion, better to pay a little more than have your wedding messed up by catering mistakes, cold food, or something else.
They also had good attention to detail: we accidentally left our cake knife and server at the site and they got it back to us, which was appreciated!
BP is a good, solid option for catering if you want to ensure your wedding dinner goes off without a hitch! -

Beautiful and delicious food. The process of planning was a little crazy and I felt we kept being charged for things that were ridiculous. Ie: linens even for small little tables. Every time we asked for something it cost a ton extra. But overall the food was delicious and we got compliments all night long! On the night of our wedding I was incredibly impressed with the staff and service. So was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! -

The food from Butler's Pantry was to die for. All our guests have been raving about how delicious it was. The staff did a fabulous job setting up at the reception and coordinating all aspects of the dinner. The waitstaff was professional and responsive.
My only complaint is that they forgot to present us with a vegetarian option during our tasting (I am a vegetarian and we had specificially asked for a beef, chicken, and vegetarian option), but they offered a second tasting to sample vegetarian options and we ended up being very happy with our choice. -

Butler’s Pantry is the exclusive caterer at the Palm House, so we didn’t have much of a choice there. The food was really good, but I was a little apprehensive that they do not do tastings. They did, however, give us a free brunch at Café Madeline and the Palm House, with a few dishes the same (but we did not get to taste all our options). Leading up to the wedding, Bridget, our catering contact, was really helpful. She met with us twice to go over everything and responded quickly to my emails and phone calls. However, several weeks before the wedding I had asked her if we could get the napkins so that we could put napkin wraps that we were making on them (eliminating this work for her staff – I figured it would be easier and would allow them to devote their time to other things that day). She said that was fine, I could pick them up on the Wednesday before the wedding. That morning, she emailed me and said that she would call when they arrived from the cleaners, and that it would probably by around lunch time. At 2:30, I still hadn’t heard from her, so I called. They told me that she had left for the day to help at an event. I asked about our napkins, and they had no idea what I was talking about, but that they would call Bridget’s cell phone. Half an hour later, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I called again. They said that she hadn’t answered her phone and again tried to figure out what was going on. I finally talked to someone that figured out where the napkins were and we were able to get them. But the whole situation was stressful and I never received an apology from Bridget. The day of the wedding she seemed to be fine, I didn’t have much contact with her. The service staff seemed pretty good, other than the fact that I had to chase them down during cocktail hour to get hors d’oeuvres! -

The food was excellent! It was sometimes hard to get a hold of someone when I had questions. Still it all worked out well. -

The food was fantastic and all of our guests were raving about it. But they do not do tastings, they had a price increase, and never got back to me on cost to switch alcohol. There were very few houerderves served during the cocktail hour. They also forgot to put a place setting at the head table, any other table probably ok. The linen selection is also lacking. Overall the food is great and the staff is nice to work with but its not much for your dollar. We couldn't pass up the venue which only allows Butlers, so we would do it all over again! -

The food was excellent, and the service at the wedding was great. Before the wedding, the staff wasn't very responsive. There wasn't much communication going on. The only way you can taste the food is by going to a brunch on a Sunday morning; the food, again, was good, but not anything like the reception food. We had to choose this caterer because of our reception venue. We got lots of compliments on the food, but it was pretty expensive. Also, they charged an outrageous amount for a soda and water bar. We don't drink alcohol or coffee (and didn't want either served at our wedding) and they seemed to keep forgetting that part! All in all everything turned out okay, but it could have been smoother and cheaper. -

The food was delicious...that's the upside. They were a little pricey but agian, food was great, so we can't complain there. Unfortuantely our coordinator - who we worked pretty well with through the planning - had a nasty attitude the night of the wedding. Was present the whole time. Kind of just lingering with a nasty sneer on her face. Didn't once ask if we were enjoying ourselves, how things were, etc., so we were left with a pretty bad taste (delicious food aside) in our mouth. -

I didn't have a choice in caterer with my venue (Missouri History Museum), and I really have no complaint with the food, linens or setup provided. It was great. My issue is with the on-site contact that I worked with. I know she was new, but she really offered no support when trying to figure out timing, logistics, menu, decor drop-off, vendors, etc. leading up to the day. It looks a long time to get adequate answers to questions, to secure detailed documentation and get a full menu/plan in writing. It was the most frustrating part of the planning process-- by far.
The night of the event, I never saw my contact after cocktail hour. She never came to check in with my parents or me, and since she was new, we were told she would have another catering manager with her to help oversee the event. If that was the case, we never saw her, either. About 1.5 hours before the reception was over, I saw my main contact on her way out the door. She didn't come to check in or say goodbye, I just ran into her in the hallway with her purse and coat.
The result of this was there was no one visible to help fix lighting issues, make sure the buffet was moving adequately, etc. Later on, I was mortified when I discovered groom's family was served dinner last (even though I had told Butler's what table they were seated at, etc., and they knew that the mother of the groom was supposed to be dancing with her son immediately after dinner.) I know it seems like small things, but believe me, you need someone helping you think through those small things that night! Or at least checking to make sure things are running smoothly. I loved my wedding, but the planning and the logistics could have run much more smoothly. Just a fair warning. -

Butler's Pantry is the preferred caterer for the Piper Palm House so were forced to use them last month for our wedding reception. Although Barb Dieckmann is very professional and responsive, there's a lot of red tape that comes with Butler's Pantry. The two things we found most frustrating during the planning process - no tasting and no table setting for our linens. I would like to think when one spends roughly $15K on a catering bill - both would be complimentary, but that is not the case. As for the day of the wedding - there were 2-liter bottles within sight of one of our open bars and the food - although flavorful - was not warm enough! Lastly, we found they lacked flexibility with their menu and the cost was higher than the actual product delivered. This previous bride recommends thinking long and hard before booking Butler's Pantry despite appearances. -

look elsewhere if you can!
after booking with them they revoked our tasting and said that they didnt need to give tastings as they were voted best catering in 2004. we would have fired them but they contracted to Tower Grove Park - we actally looked for another venue but all else was booked! food wasnt very good but we were very dissapointed in their attitude and lack of professionalism on such a big day for us. plus they changed the menu choices on us twice! -

Terrible. Bait and Switch
The food was nothing like what I tasted initially. It was cold, bland and basic. -

I was extremely disappointed in Butler's Pantry. After a relatively pleasant planning process and set up process, their bartenders took it upon themselves to close our bar almost an hour before the reception ended AND our contract stated, without bothering to consult the parents of the bride - who were paying for their services. They refused bar service to the groom - who was sober - and told the groom that the father of the bride told them to cut him off - a huge lie. I will never be able to recommend Butler's Pantry to any of my friends. It was an extremely disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful day. -
