Kathleen started as our wedding coordinator and now is one of our dearest friends
Kathleen, was our wedding coordinator.
She went beyond her role and became one of our closest friends. She was incredibly attentive to details and professional, always there, she met innumerable times with us before the wedding to attend every detail and question we had. Handling tough moments with ease and fun. Her ability to make everything seem effortless in key times is truly remarkable!
Kathleen's dedication, resourcefulness, and humble professionalism made working with her a breeze. I would highly recommend her if you want extreme efficiency and unwavering support, especially on such a significant occasion as your wedding. Trusting her completely was a decision I would make again without hesitation.

Everything you need in a wedding planner and MORE
I cannot recommend Kathleen & Buckley Events enough. Kathleen was absolutely amazing for the 1.5 years leading up to the wedding and the reason why our day was so perfect. As a bride even with possible rain on our wedding day, I could not have been more calm because of my confidence in Kathleen! Kathleen and her assistant were the reason our day was so magical. Not only is her experience/knowledge of the industry beyond helpful, but she is so kind and genuinely cares about every part of your day. I cannot recommend her and Buckley Events enough! You will be in wonderful hands! -

Winter Wedding Bliss
Getting married during a pandemic was a decision my husband and I debated. When we decided to have a wedding but require masks we knew we would have an interesting time since our guests have divided views not he subject. We hired Kathleen to help us make the most of the day in spite of covid. She told us that we were the example and if we wore masks others would follow suit. We had a wonderful day even thought it was a little chilly. Kathleen handled shuffling display items around due to wind, and wrangled my all family and friend set-up / break down teams, and shifting our schedule when a snag made the food delayed. No one knew anything was wrong and the day went on peacefully. We wore our masks and so did the guests. We all had a wonderful time! I work in F&B so I was happy to have someone else at the helm and to take a breath and enjoy my day. Kathleen was perfect for me since I liked doing most of the planning and just need a good person to pass off to that day.-

Absolutely loved our perfect day because of Kathleen Buckley!
As my partner and I look back at the most epic day in our lives we realize that Buckley Events was more like insurance that everything would be perfect and it was. Throughout the process Kathleen consistently provided guidance that only someone who had extensive experience in weddings and events would know. In the age of Covid-19 and ever changing State rules and restrictions she was able to give recommendations as we pivoted to comply or risk the caterer, valet and entertainment canceling. Our number of guests needed to be reduced by half as the restrictions changed after the invitations had been sent months in advance. Her early recommendation was to have our wedding and reception at our estate in Virginia which ultimately allowed flexibility. Instead of canceling half of our guest list we hosted 2 weddings and 2 receptions at our home on the same day. Once we divided the guest list in half, sent new invitations electronically a timeline for the day needed to be executed as we could not go off schedule, not by even a little as there was 1 hour for the caterer to reset between our weddings. A dear friend married us on the day who became ordained just to officiate our wedding. Kathleen quietly researched the documentation and realized that there are 2 states in the US that do not allow this type of certification to perform a legal wedding and VA was one of them. Our dear friend married us on the day as we all smiled at one another but Kathleen had arranged another VA approved celebrant to come to our home the next day, it was seamless. There were so many touchpoints that have Kathleen’s mark, especially how we wanted to be photographed, her passion and understanding of photography helped position us and our sons for the most memorable shots.
After working with Kathleen for such a long time on this wedding we knew we could trust her as the day came. She asked us to relax, and enjoy our day, she would keep everything on track. We trusted her completely to pull of the impossible and she delivered beyond our imaginations. If you want to enjoy your wedding day, not have to worry about anything, protect your investment you need to hire Kathleen Buckley at Buckley Events! -

Kathleen Buckley is the BEST
Tara and I were referred to Kathleen through a family friend to help plan our wedding. Kathleen did such an awesome job from the start. She kept things so organized and easy for us to understand and prepare for. Our wedding day went on without stress (even during the COVID pandemic) because Kathleen had already planned for and taken care of things she thought might come up. We would highly recommend Kathleen & Buckley Events to anyone and everyone in the Charleston area. -

100% recommend!
Kathleen Buckley was an absolute delight to work with during the wedding planning process, the days leading up to it, and the day of. She is so warm and welcoming and I’m in no way exaggerating when I say our day wouldn’t have been possible without her. Literally, the first coordinator we worked with made me want to cancel the entire event, get married in front of a judge (not that there is anything wrong with that, in any way) and call it a day. Six months before our wedding we decided we weren’t a good fit and broke it off to plan for ourselves. Kathleen was highly recommended to us by the owner of the restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner and I couldn’t be more grateful we were connected to her. She turned our dreams into a reality. My husband had a little too much fun the night before and overheated and was touch and go for a while and Kathleen literally talked me off the ledge haha she has a heart of gold and I’m so happy she was a part of our day. Couldn’t recommend her enough 💜 -

Kathleen goes to any length for your happiness!
All I can say is wow! Kathleen is so wonderful to work with and super supportive and encouraging. We were hesitant to hire a wedding planner due to the intimate nature of our wedding, but her attention to detail and expertise quickly came in handy. Without her I know for a fact our day would not have been as special. We got married on the beach in 2019 in the middle of one of the largest anticipated rain storms in December's history, and Kathleen made sure everything was perfect. She made sure we had a plan B, but ultimately allowed us to make the decision and made sure it was perfect despite the circumstances. I am eternally grateful to Kathleen and she will always be my recommendation when asked if I have a wedding planner contact. If you don't consider her for your special event, you are missing out! -

You NEED to hire Buckley Events
If you're getting married anywhere in the Charleston area, there's no excuse for not hiring Kathleen Buckley. She was attentive throughout the entire wedding process, prompt with her responses, and amazingly committed to ensuring our big day was everything we could've dreamed of. All the vendors were organized perfectly, the timeline was executed to a T and we didn't have to worry about anything on the day-of. We wouldn't have changed a thing.
If you want to say "My wedding day went off a hitch," and genuinely mean it, Buckley Events is for you. -

Awesome Job, Buckley Events!
Kathleen is knowledgable, professional, and delightful to work with. It just doesn't get easier...we are very thankful that we found Kathleen and her assistant, Kim, to help with our daughter's wedding. Everything went off without a hitch and a great time was had by all! Kathleen tracked all vendor deliveries, set up at the club, timeline, photographer, food and beverage, the DJ, and every other aspect of the day. We were able to relax and enjoy the wedding due to her efforts. Thanks very much, Kathleen! -

Kathleen with Buckley Events was truly a joy to work with. She met with us multiple times ahead of the wedding to make sure we were completely comfortable and provided extremely prompt email support. She made sure our wedding day ran so smoothly. I never once had to think about where I needed to be or what was next. Kathleen Buckley is great
My daughter and I hired Kathleen Buckley as our "Day Of Wedding Planner," and she did a great job. She kept us organized, calm, on schedule, and handled all the troubleshooting so that I could enjoy my day as mother of the bride and my daughter could just celebrate with her husband, friends and family. All the things we told her were important to us were done perfectly; even the things we threw in last minute. All Kathleen's suggestions made the day flow smoothly, and her experience really helped us to avoid some ideas that seemed good to us, but that were actually best left off. Besides all of that, she is very friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend her for any event. -

An expert in her field!
When we were told we needed a wedding planner by our venue, I wasn’t thrilled as I figured I would be doing most of the planning and only wanted a day of coordinator. First off, I was naive to think I didn’t need a planner as there are so many details day of that you need someone to help.. and someone who knows what they’re doing, but secondly Kathleen truly goes above and beyond. Even though we hired her for day of, she was there with us every step of the way. She reviewed all of our contracts and picked up on language and clauses that I would have never second guessed- making sure we clarify to avoid issues later on. She was beyond thorough, detail oriented and an absolute pleasure to work with. By nature, I tend to worry and let stress get the best of me, but Kathleen never made me feel like any of my questions or contacting her were a bother. I remember after our first conversation thinking, ok I’m in great hands, and we were. She is an expert in her field and genuinely loves what she does. Quite honestly, she did not need to even be in contact with us until the day of as that is what we paid for, but she had multiple phone conversations when things went wrong, she finalized pick up and details with every single vendor, she met us to go over every detail we wanted the days before. I cannot say enough good things about Kathleen. Any couple that has the pleasure of working with her is truly lucky and she will minimize the stress as much as she can, as we all know how stressful this time can be! Happy to say our wedding was perfect and I attribute that mostly to her organization and amazing work ethic! Absolutely love her! -

Best Day of Coordinator!
We can't say enough great things about Kathleen. We did all of our own wedding planning, catering and bar service, so when it came down to how all the logistics and day of timeline would go, we were a little stressed. We hired Kathleen to take care of all of this for us and because of her expertise, knowledge and experience, she exceeded our expectations. She was able to make great suggestions on layout, logistics, procession, take down, etc that we would otherwise not know how to coordinate. She even met with us before the wedding to pick up all our decorations and go over the details one last time. She made herself available via phone and email for any little or big questions we had. During the wedding, the disposable plates/silverware were accidentally left behind by one of the servers so Kathleen immediately sent someone to the store to grab what we needed. I hadn't planned for enough chairs for the outdoor seating and she caught that right away the day of and called our Rental company and they brought the chairs right over. Because of her many years of experience in Charleston, she has all the right relationships with vendors! And the best part of it all is that we never knew any of these small hiccups were happening as she and her assistant Kim took care of them and still had big smiles on their faces still proceeded in enjoying our big day! I recommend Buckley Events for anyone who wants a professional, fun and laidback planner/coordinator - guarantee you will be stress free! We will definitely keep in touch with Kathleen. -

Perfection, professional, and fabulous don’t begin to describe our experience with Kathleen as our Day of Coordinator! She even took photos that no one else captured! No bumps, hiccups or panicked moments and it was a very large my day. I was the Momzilla and Kathleen was the very best and kept us all on point for the perfect dream wedding for my daughter. We hired Kathleen at Buckley Events as our day-of-wedding coordinator. Kathleen supplied great recommendations for many of our vendors (who were also outstanding). Our Wedding was not held at a traditional wedding venue and required vendors for everything! She was there for support and guidance leading up to the wedding as well as our wedding day. The wedding ceremony and reception was perfect and everything ran smoothly (at least as far as we knew which is all you can ask for on your wedding day!) Kathleen was prompt and professional. She has a lot of experience and executed our wedding day vision. We definitely recommend Buckley Events to anyone in need of an amazing wedding planner!

Kathleen was such an asset during our wedding planning and day-of process. It was great to not have to have any family @ the venue to coordinate things, and we could just show up and enjoy! The planning meetings leading up to the event were SO helpful, and she was so patient with my parents, fiance, and me to help us all be on the same page. We had what felt like a crisis with our venue the week before our event which was going to mess-up our whole timeline. Kathleen went into problem solving mode and made a lot of calls to find the venue owner and get it fixed for us-- she was a lifesaver!! Worth her weight in gold! Kathleen was easy to work with and well worth the price. She coordinated such a beautiful wedding reception for us, and I do not know how we would of pulled everything together without her. Her organization of the day really allowed my mom and me to enjoy the day fully, and we thank her so much. The wedding reception turned out just as I had envisioned, and everything ran smoothly. After an initial phone conversation with Kathleen, I knew that she was going to be the one to help my mom and I plan my dream wedding in Charleston! I am so glad that we hired her. I really enjoyed working with her throughout the planning process and never felt silly for asking her a million questions! Kathleen was always very quick to respond and I always felt confident in her skills and knowledge. She is very organized, checked in often to make sure everything was on track and was quick to offer ideas and suggestions when needed. Kathleen left no detail behind and I felt that she truly understood the vision for my wedding. I wasn't sold on getting a day-of coordinator since I was trying to cut back on wedding costs. My parents encouraged that we get one, and we relented and did so. I am SO glad that we did. Kathleen and her assistant were amazing! Kathleen was willing to meet us beforehand at times and locations convenient to us, which made everything so much easier. She asked questions we never even considered. She gave wonderful suggestions about vendors and décor so we could reduce costs and stress. She is very no-fuss and listened closely to everything we had to say. Kathleen is super organized and gave us much more than just "day-of" work. I am so glad we hired her and I highly suggest her services to anybody who wants a stress-free day. -

Destination weddings naturally create additional stress to a wedding. Buckley Events took it all away for us and allowed us to have a beautiful, relaxed wedding reception that will be a cherished memory for everyone. Everything and everyone was right in place at the time they were supposed to be. Kathleen and staff are super nice and super competent. A week later, my mom and I cannot stop raving about Kathleen Buckley.
I wasn't sold on 'getting a planner', but she was completely and utterly wonderful. I know my wedding would not have been nearly as enjoyable for my family or my husband if it weren't for her.
Her organization was incredible, and I always felt like a priority when meeting with her or communicating via email.
We only got her for 'day of' services, but she was extremely available for additional appointments and other communications.
She truly understood our vision, and knew how to organize everything to perfection. She was really able to get into my head, and make it a reality. She and her assistant made it their mission to make sure everyone was as comfortable and having as much fun as possible.
Buckley Events was one of the more budget-friendly planning companies I came across, but I have no earthly idea why you would go anywhere else. Completely wonderful. -

Kathleen did such an amazing job with my wedding! My mom and I did a good bit of planning before the wedding, but if I had questions or any concerns she was just an email away. The day of the wedding my mom and I didn't have to worry about a single thing and were able to enjoy the special day. Everything was scheduled down to the minute and she kept everything right on track. I would highly recommend her! She is extremely organized, super friendly, and overall calm (which helps you stay calm).

Actually, Kathleen came on board after the wedding plans were underway. This can be a bit difficult considering everything was in full swing. However, Kathleen jumped right in, offering advise and support. Buckley Events ran the wedding day for us with excellent precision. Everything went off beautifully! Kathleen is extremely professional and efficient as well as being a lovely person.
We highly recommend Buckley Events to anyone planning a wedding in the Charleston area. -

Kathleen Buckley, head of Buckley Events made sure that my wedding was the wedding of my dreams. She made sure I had the best vendors that were out there. She also read through all of my contracts to make sure that I was aware of all of the exceptions and didn't get charged extra fees. She also contacted all of my vendors the week of my wedding to make sure that they were coming at their scheduled time and to let them know of everything I expected of them. Although, I only hired Buckley Events, for the day of my wedding. Kathleen worked with me all year, to pick out vendors, get in touch with them, and answer all of my questions! She also made sure that the day of my wedding I did not have to worry about ANYTHING. My wedding day could not have gone any better, and I owe a lot of that to Buckley Events!! -

Kathleen was amazing! She handled everything from getting in touch with the vendors the week before the wedding to creating a timeline to making sure all of our gifts got to us at the end of the night. She went above and beyond so that we could completely relax and enjoy our awesome day! -

Kathleen is AMAZING!! I really can't write a review about her that would even do her outstanding service justice! I contacted her for a planner and when I told her what I needed she was very honest and upfront and suggested I hire her as a day-of-planner.
As a day-of-planner however, she went above and beyond and met with my husband and I three times before the big day. She made detailed outlines and timelines and thought of all the things I had forgotten or didn't know about!
Kathleen is organized, professional, and so easy to work with. I think one scenario that sums up Kathleen the best is the night of our wedding, I turned to my husband and said "Ok where are the sparklers you bought for send off?" He looked horrified because he had forgotten to buy them and Kathleen chimed in that she had some in her trunk! She saved the send off with some sparklers for everyone. Talk about a Mary Poppins of weddings! I would recommend her to anyone. -

I cannot say enough about the outstanding service provided by Buckley events. I knew that planning a destination wedding wouldn't be easy, but Kathleen made the process very smooth and basically stress free. She always responded quickly to any of my emails and was able to give me great advice about different vendors in the Charleston area and about wedding planning in general. On the actual wedding day, she made sure that the entire day ran smoothly. I didn't have to worry about a single thing! She was in communication with all of my vendors and made sure that everything happened according to schedule. I was able to enjoy the day with my guests while she took care of all of the other details. Not only does Kathleen provide outstanding service, but she is also very kind and an absolute pleasure to work with! -

Kathleen really did a great job for our destination wedding in Charleston. One of the reasons we decided to work with her was because she tailored her services to our needs. She listened to what we wanted so that we had the wedding we had imagined. She was very helpful in every aspect from working with vendors to directing the wedding ceremony and reception. She paid attention to every detail to make sure we could relax and enjoy our wedding. ORGANIZATION: Kathleen’s organization & attention to detail are impeccable. There is no contingency that she does not plan for. She worked to ensure that she knew every detail of our wedding & that WE knew everything that we should expect come wedding day. She coordinated with our vendors to ensure that our vision was passed along to each. She worked with each all through the day of the wedding to make sure everything and everyone stayed on task and on schedule. COMMUNICATION: Kathleen made us feel as though our wedding was as important to her as it was to us. We never had an issue with communication with Kathleen. Her communications with us were also highly professional, something we valued knowing she would be dealing directly with our vendors. At no point were we left waiting for a response from Kathleen. Her prompt communication exemplifies her high level of professionalism and her ability. SUGGESTIONS/DEFERENCE: Kathleen always presented multiple ideas so that if one didn’t work we could immediately move on and not miss a step in planning. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge which is invaluable. There was no detail that Kathleen was not prepared to lend suggestions for. Kathleen combines a sense of logistics with her sense of style in order to create a truly beautiful and enjoyable wedding. Kathleen was also deferential to us. We never felt as if she was pushing us to do something we didn’t want to do. We never felt as if our planner had hijacked our wedding. Great balance of giving suggestions and deferring to us. She was respectful of our budget and never pushed us beyond it. RESULTS: Due to Kathleen’s tireless work, there was no hiccup in our wedding! She produced an event that was flawless. Kathleen coordinated all parts while managing to be invisible in the background. Her work ethic, professionalism, attention to detail and friendship combine to produce so much more than a party. With Kathleen you get an “event”, a wedding day, a memory. -

If you are looking for a day of wedding coordinator look no further. Kathleen is professional, highly organized, well connected to the other Charleston vendors and easy to communicate with. She made our Folly Beach wedding exceed all of our expectations. Destination weddings are challenging to plan from afar and Kathleen was always available via email to make suggestions and answer questions. Her recommendations (for photographer, ceremony musician, wedding night hotel, hair salon, nail salon) were perfect.
Kathleen and Sally met with us the day before the weddings to review our plans. They arrived on our wedding day and "took over" allowing the bride and groom and their parents to fully enjoy the special day. The executed the timeline with skill and ease, keeping everything flowing perfectly.
The only mistake we made was not hiring Buckley Events first and relying on only Kathleen's recommendations for vendors. -

My husband and I had our wedding on May 26, 2012 in Charleston, SC. We are military and were planning the wedding from a city two hours away from Charleston. Planning a destination wedding is not always easy. Kathleen Buckley of Beckley Events took care of everything for us. I met with her only once before the wedding and we discussed all the aspects of what the perfect wedding meant for me. We had a aquatic themed wedding at the SC Aquarium. Kathleen was very familiar with the venue and helped me with everything from the caterer to the floor plan.
I didn't know a florist, a caterer or a DJ in the area. I mentioned that to Kathleen and later that day she had contacted all three for me and I had price quotes within a week.
The day of the wedding I didn't have to think about anything other than marrying my amazing fiance. Kathleen took care of everything. I'm sure there were a few "glitches" along the way, but in all honesty I didn't know of a single one. But that's the reason I hired her, and she fulfilled my expectations greater than I had ever imagined!
Buckley Events is very reasonably priced. I would suggest to any bride that hiring a wedding planner (even if it's only a day-of wedding planner, which is very reasonably priced and Buckely Events offers this service too!) is one of the most important aspects of your wedding day. Having Kathleen Buckley of Buckley Events allowed me to just show up to my wedding and truly ENJOY. I would never have done it any different. -

We truly lucked out when our daughter found Kathleen Buckley and her assistant Sally of Buckley Events Consulting on-line. We had only one opportunity to meet face to face with Kathleen as we were from out of state but she remained in contact with us via phone and email faithfully until the big day.
Kathleen is very personable and caring and loves what she does and it shows! She did all that we requested and more especially when my daughter, the bride, and I both became sick the day of the wedding. She is extremely organized,detail oriented,thorough,reliable,an effective communicator and performs her job with style,grace & dignity. She is a true professional. She quelled all our fears and managed to make that day and the weeks prior to as stress free as possible by maintaing contact with us,vendors and venue at all times. All "i' s were dotted and all "t' s" were crossed.
If you want to enjoy your wedding or special event & for it to flow smoothly, effortlessly & be trouble free due to her planning, caring and organizational skills, then we highly recommend her services.

Kathleen and her staff were incredible! Our wedding was perfect and nobody was stressed out or worried about a thing on our special day. And that was no easy feat as our wedding fell on the same day as a rescheduled festival on the island of Folly Beach where there is one bridge on and off.
The front page of the newspaper the next day read, "Pity the couples who booked their wedding on Folly Beach on Saturday..." Little did the Post and Currier know we had Kathleen and company on our side! Whether she was out there directing traffic into the beach house, helping us control gnats, putting together a to-go tray for us to eat after the wedding (a brilliant idea she suggested, that we highly recommend!), or any of a thousand other things we didn't even notice, Kathleen handled it and still had a smile and encouraging words through the entire enchanted day.
The day-of could not have gone more smoothly. As for the preparations, we had a few meetings with Kathleen before the wedding and spoke often via email and phone. She was very professional and asked all the questions we didn't even know to ask. She made sure we were on the right page with all the other vendors and picked up a lot of the slack communicating with them when we were busy doing other things.
Kathleen's pricing was very budget friendly while her service was top-notch. We highly recommend any couples out there looking for a stress-free, panic-free special day contact Kathleen and Buckley Event Consulting right away! -

For a variety of reasons, the process of planning our wedding was challenging, and Kathleen was there for us 100% through all of it. We had regular meetings and good brainstorming sessions on how to plan around some of the issues we were experiencing. I hired Kathleen as my day-of coordinator for my 80 person wedding in January of 2017. I could not have been more impressed with her. She was practical, knowledgeable, and focused. About 5 days prior to the wedding, Kathleen whipped my mother and I into shape on what we needed to do to execute this event prior to the craziness of the weekend. She set an action plan, went over every detail, and helped us think of things only a professional could! She had great suggestions on how to make the event unique to our families and friends. On the day of our wedding, she ensured that the groom and I had everything we needed, that everything went according to plan, and that we were happy and taken care of. My husband and I worked with Kathleen as our day-of planner, referred to us by another planner that worked with us longer-term. She was very helpful as we moved closer to the big day by staying apprised of itineraries and all the fine details we'd communicated to Mike, our other planner.
The day of our wedding we encountered major family drama - I mean Dr. Phil-worthy drama. Fortunately, my husband and I stayed calm and focused, and our bridesmaids, groomsmen, and my family did, too. And Kathleen truly rose to the occasion. She did things that helped us get through the ceremony and reception that, upon reflection, helped significantly. For example, she set me and my Dad up to enter the ceremony from a different door than my husband's mother, so as to avoid further issues.
She helped mitigate other small things that got lost in the shuffle of stress and orchestration, like our table numbers, which we'd forgotten about, and the seating list on our chalkboards (the assigned person was indisposed for reasons relating to the family drama). She took care of these things, and of assisting my family with decorating, when she didn't have to.
We couldn't have gotten through our wedding without Kathleen! My husband and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a competent, thorough planner who remains calm and level-headed under pressure.

We hired Kathleen Buckley as our "Day of" coordinator. She was also a big help when it came to finding a few vendors for the big day as well. When we met she asked a lot of questions and came up with things I hadn't even thought of to do. She was very organized and put me at ease when it came to getting everything set up for the wedding. She made sure everything was going smoothly, and if it wasn't she delt with it behind the scenes. My only negative feedback would be that our wedding wasn't over until 10pm (our venue had a curfew) and the flower arrangements and tables were being broken down at 8:15. At the same time the band took their first break which caused about 1/2 of my guests to assume it was time to leave, which they did. By 9:45 I only had about 20 guests left out of 130. Many of them told me they left because they thought it was over when the band put on the iPod, people started to clean and the lights were turned up. i definitely understand that not everyone stays until the very end but even my family who knew it wasn't over was upset. So just discuss in advance when it's appropriate for decorations to be taken down. Maybe even coordinate to avoid the band taking a break at the same time. -
