We booked with Broussard's / Cajun Specialty Meats in Pensacola to take advantage of local flavors for our wedding reception. Our wedding was at Navarre Beach, with the reception at an adjacent pavilion, & we really liked the idea of having a local restaurant represented. Mike & Cindy were easy to work with throughout the planning process, & we were able to nail down the menu we wanted. A week before the wedding, we touched base with Broussard’s to confirm details, only to find they had us scheduled for a 6:00pm delivery. Considering our wedding didn’t start until 7:00pm, & people wouldn’t eat until almost 8:00pm, we believed this was too early. Cindy agreed & said she’d push back delivery time until 6:45-7:00pm. When our wedding day arrived, I (Bert, the groom) was at the pavilion about 5:00pm to work on any last minute preparations. At 6:00pm, the delivery van for Broussard’s showed up, which was of course far too early. The delivery guy stated it was the time he had on his schedule. He also didn’t have two tables we had rented, which were needed for the food. He ended up unloading the food & drink onto the pavilion floor while he went the Broussard’s Navarre location to get tables. As expected, following the ceremony & sunset pictures, we were ready to eat about 8:00pm. By that time, the food was lukewarm or cold, an example being the rice, which is very hard to dish when cold since it clumps. It was difficult not to wonder how much warmer & fresher the food would have been if it had been delivered on time. We contacted Broussard’s following the wedding to discuss, & Cindy told us they had to deliver it early because of a prior commitment. This frustrated us because, had we known this, we would have made other arrangements. They did offer a $30 gift card for the restaurant, which seemed like a token offer & isn’t helpful since we don’t live in the area. Broussard’s was very professional to deal with, but unfortunately, we felt let down when it really mattered.
