  Excellence

  One of my favorite quotes is "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, everything essential is invisible to the eye" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Yet somehow Britt DOES capture the essential of things that should remain abstractions: love, the joy, friendship, laughter. I had a wonderful time working with her for my wedding: Professional, kind, and comfortable.

  Britt was a dream to work with for our engagement photos - super communicative, friendly, and professional! During planning, she answered questions that I didn't even think to ask. Our shoot felt like just hanging out with a friend, which you'll certainly become by the end of the process. She got a wonderful variety of posed, more candid, and just plain fun shots (we ended up in a record store and a bar towards the end). We loved every single picture that she sent back to us. Thank you again, Britt!

  I often refer to Britt as our family's "photographer-in-residence." No, she doesn't live with us...but when we've needed important personal or professional photographs over the past several years, Britt has been our first and only choice. So when my wife and I decided to get married in her hometown of Seattle, WA, one of our first priorities was to make sure that we could fly Britt out from Baltimore, MD for the occasion.* We couldn't imagine anyone else photographing our wedding.
  
  Britt's gifts, as a person and artist, go beyond what the ratings above can quantify. A wedding photographer has to be able to shift on a dime between running the show and blending into the background. Not surprisingly for a musician, Britt raises this skill to an art form. And as a photographer, Britt always gets past the surface, capturing something essential and intimate in her subject(s).
  
  Granted, we knew and had worked with Britt for some time before our wedding. But part of Britt's magic lies in respecting her friends as clients, and making her clients feel like friends. Especially if you are planning to photograph more than the wedding itself -- Britt also shot our engagement photos, in two cities, and our rehearsal dinner -- you want to work with someone who can not only tell your story, but be a part of it. Britt has long been that person for us, and we can't recommend her highly enough.
  
  *Note that the cost indicated below includes round-trip flight from Baltimore to Seattle and AirBnB housing in Seattle. Britt was very conscientious about keeping travel/lodging costs down!

  Wonderful and Fabulous!!! We cannot THANK Britt enough. Our wedding day was beautiful and ran like a well oiled machine thanks to our amazing vendors and the professionalism/knowledge of Britt. She first understood us as a couple. Instead of making us the "perfect wedding"; she captured our love and silliness with her lens. Her eye for finding wonderful spots for posed pictures and quick interactions between guests; left us with a fun and accurate photo telling of our day. She help us with direction, making sure we were timely about taking pictures but still having fun with all our guests. Britt is Amazing!!!

  Britt Olsen-Ecker is an *outstanding* wedding photographer! She had previously taken headshots for me, so I knew she did incredible work...in fact we flew her across the country because she was the only person we could entrust with such a momentous occasion. Her special talent is her remarkable ability to capture naturalness and vibrancy in her photographs.
  
  From our first interaction about the wedding through the timely receipt of our stunning photos, Britt was extremely prompt and professional. Her contract was up-front and clear. Every response was thorough, and she even checked in periodically during the planning phase to make sure everything was proceeding smoothly. (I wish all of our vendors had been like this!)
  
  On the day of the event, Britt was calm at all times, providing guidance that made everyone feel comfortable. She kept things moving without being rushed and managed to deal well with a photobombing child. She took every one of our requested photos and managed to get something great of each person there, including those who do not typically consider themselves photogenic. The serious, posed shots were lovely, and the silly and/or action shots were amazing. The indoor and the outdoor shots she took were fantastic, and thanks to her creative eye, we ended up with some marvelous surprises, too -- perfect moments framed in a gorgeous way that we will treasure forever.

  Britt was easy to work with, friendly and supportive, and open to our ideas. Neither I nor my wife are particularly comfortable being photographed, but both the engagement shoot and the wedding shoot were efficient and enjoyable. The edited photos were delivered to us on time, with a wide variety of shots. Thanks!

  Britt was a pleasure to work with. The most important thing to us when we were planning the pictures for our wedding was that they would not take a long time. Britt made sure that the process moved as quickly and smoothly as possible without compromising that quality of the pictures. Family members even commented on how efficient she was. We could not have been happier with the results!
