Rhonda recently did hair and makeup for a portrait photo session. She worked efficiently, managed and styles hair with challenging texture into a style that was both flattering and special, and selected makeup shades that photographed beautifully. Her skill and experience were very evident in gear and setup, preparedness, and an eye for detail...right down to the eye drops that I would not have thought I needed. After thoughtful observation while monitoring her product in action, she provided suggestions for managing the hairstyle to its best photographic effect. I strongly recommend Rhonda's service for any special or professional event that requires more than typical hair and makeup. -

My daughter, Katie, was married in Morro Bay 2/22/25. We had an amazing venue, gorgeous weather, and thanks to Rhonda and Jorien a breathtaking bride and beautiful bridesmaids.Katie and I searched high and low to find a stylist who we thought would be able to make everyone happy. We had a group of women who were all natural beauties and not accustom to wearing a lot of make up. Rhonda and Jorien left us all speechless.
It was a delight to have both of them be a part of Katie’s wedding day. The ease in which they helped all the ladies get ready and enjoyed socializing with everyone was incredible. Both Rhonda and Jorien were true professionals who have that natural artistic gift to listen to how someone would like to look and create it.
Rhonda was gracious in giving us all last minute bridal party tips for getting dressed and how to look our best.

Natural, Comfortable, Beautiful
Rhonda was such a pleasure to work with and she made me look beautiful and feel natural and comfortable. I loved that she has a history doing Disney editorial work because I knew that she knows how to do natural glow that photographs well. I don't wear much makeup or on a regular basis, but the few times I've gotten my makeup done for photos, there was always something that just looked a little over done. Rhonda looked at those photos and listened to what I wanted and knew exactly what to do. She did a video consultation with me to plan for the trial, which made me happy that her personality would match mine too. At the trial I felt totally comfortable to give her feedback to refine it and she knocked it out of the park making the adjustments on the day-of. She's a perfectionist, a planner, a total professional, and I was so happy to spend the first half of my wedding day with Rhonda.
Two side notes: 1) My mom is even less comfortable in makeup than I am and even just working off of pictures of her until day-of, Rhonda did an amazing job with my mom's makeup too! 2) Rhonda recommended a second artist, Jorien Medford, for my bridesmaids and they worked so well together in limited space and they gave the room a great energy for the wedding morning.

This is a belated but much needed review for Rhonda's hair and makeup for myself, my maid of honor, and my mom for my 6/1/2023 wedding. You don't realize how much time you spend with your HMUA on your wedding day, and you want to mesh well with that person. And for that reason (along with her beautiful work) I highly recommend Rhonda!
I did a trial with Rhonda in her home months before the wedding which I highly encourage as well - we both made some changes to the look and made it perfect for wedding day. The day of the wedding, she showed up right on time, was professional, and a lovely person to spend the morning with. I'm so grateful that she made the 3 of us feel absolutely beautiful for a perfect day.

Awesome Experience!
Rhonda did an amazing job with my hair and make up for my wedding. I wanted a very beachy/natural look and she knew just what to do to make me look polished but not overdone. I was very pleased to be able to do a trial with her ahead of time- and although nothing needed changing at all from our trial- She followed up with my to see how everything looked and how it stayed in case we needed to make any adjustments. (A side note worth saying- her cleanliness standards were awesome.) I felt incredibly confident that day and she’s the reason why! -

Rhonda is MAGIC!
I was super hesitant to have anyone do my hair or makeup for my elopement because I had a very particular vision and “wedding makeup” intimidates me. During our zoom meeting, she was very patient as I discussed my fears and issues I had with fake eyelashes, heavy makeup, etc. She quickly eased all my worries and I trusted her immediately. Not only did she seem extremely knowledgeable, but she had a very laid back yet fun and quirky personality.
When I met her on the day of my elopement, she made me feel so comfortable and excited for what we were planning on doing. I just wanted fairly simple makeup with neutral tones and nothing to extravagant. For my hair we decided on using one of my waver tools (although she brought PLENTY for me to choose from and tested) and she created some beautiful braids with a flower crown she helped place that tied it all together into a stunning woodland fairytale look. It was BEYOND gorgeous and I still can’t believe how beautiful everything turned out. Rhonda is 100% one id the best choices I could have made for my elopement and I am so grateful for her service.
She also helped me to get in to my dress, decide which sweater I should wear, and gave me honest opinions of what looked best as I got ready and acted as a stand in “mother” since I was by myself. I appreciate her so much and will forever be grateful for her talent! -

Skillful, thoughtful, patient, flexible, Rhonda made me feel like my truest and most beautiful self! She strikes the perfect balance of being very professional while also being easy-going, funny, and a great conversationalist. She was generous with her time, spending multiple hours with me to do a hair and make-up trial six weeks before the wedding, which was included in the overall cost.
Rhonda was also very flexible and patient! I changed my mind about my make-up after our initial hair/make-up trial, and she was very receptive and accommodated my requests. We went with an understated but glamorous classic Hollywood look with gold eyeshadow and red lipstick. My hair looked absolutely incredible! I got so many compliments. I have short, naturally curly hair and she made it look both romantic and polished in a half-updo.
I would definitely recommend Rhonda! She's a true professional and a pleasure to work with. -

Rhonda is the BEST!
Rhonda is truly amazing and I cannot recommend her enough! She takes the time to understand your personal style and vision for your wedding so that she can execute exactly what you want. I absolutely LOVED my hair and makeup. I felt like an enhanced version of myself, which I think is key 😊 I also appreciated her honesty. I would bounce ideas for hairstyles off of her because I was really torn between a couple of different looks. Her opinions were so helpful and I felt that she really had my best interest at heart and wasn’t trying to just tell me what I wanted I hear. She’s also incredibly professional - prompt with responses, was perfectly on time, very transparent about the time that she needed to complete our looks, and used really thorough Covid protocols. Rhonda was a life saver. She did my hair and makeup for my rehearsal and last minute did my makeup for my wedding. She was absolutely amazing. I actually had someone else do a makeup trial for my wedding and while it was pretty, it just was not as pretty as what Rhonda could do, so last minute I was able to switch it to Rhonda and my makeup was perfect.
Rhonda is really professional and timely. She also did several hair styles for my bridesmaids and they were gorgeous, really stunning. I cannot recommend her enough. I wish I had more events to go to so I could hire Rhonda to do my hair and makeup! -

Phenomenal Hair and Makeup!
Rhonda styled hair and makeup for my wife and myself (two brides!) for our wedding day, and it absolutely surpassed our expectations for our dream looks. We both felt stunning on our big day. Rhonda is truly an artist! I can't even begin to describe how thankful I am to have found her to do my makeup and hair for my elopement along the coast in Cambria.
A little back story - I was a covid bride and my big desert wedding in Arizona never happened. We decided to elope in Cambria after I found a cute little boutique hotel through Instagram. I needed someone to do my hair and makeup and that's when Rhonda came into the picture.
The moment I contacted Rhonda, she was professional, funny, warm and she's SO responsive! She knows her sh**. On the day of the elopement, Rhoda showed up to the hotel right on time. I've heard horror stories of MUA showing up HOURS late, this was not the case. Rhonda was punctual, positive and came in with ALL the equipment. She even airbrushed my foundation on (my previous MUA didn't even do this!)
Rhonda was so meticulous with her work, she truly made me feel and look like a princess that day. My hair and my makeup was on point!! I can't thank her enough and I recommend anyone in the SLO area to HIRE HER. You won't regret it! -

Perfect Hire for Hair & Makeup
We had a destination wedding to attend in Harmony California with a stay at a hotel in Cambria. Rhonda set up a pre meeting via zoom to discuss colors we were wearing and set expectations. Rhonda was on time at the hotel with all of her equipment and is super sweet. We were three women of different ages, with different hair types, and skin textures. All three of us left the hotel looking and feeling amazing. Our Photos were terrific!
We were all happy we chose Rhonda and would do it again in a heartbeat.

As many COVID-19 brides can relate, my original destination wedding plans were canceled, and my partner and I decided to elope. We were inspired from a road trip to Big Sur in late summer and decided that we'd plan to elope there, but couldn't wrap our heads around engaging a new set of vendors to make our special day happen. Enter Rhonda! She was excellent from the beginning. We set up a Zoom call, she had a model, and we talked through all of the details of what I wanted/didn't want. It was the next best thing to having a trial. She was flexible and offered great insights based on my hair style, the setting, my dress, etc. I was so happy to leverage her expertise, especially since I wouldn't have my tribe by my side for this event. Her professionalism and creativity carried through to my big day. She had three masks on to keep us both safe, sanitized her tools, and made me feel very comfortable given these unprecedented times. Rhonda worked magic to help make me beautiful and execute against my vision and I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend Rhonda for your event. I dont know where to start with Rhonda, just wow, she was like a fairy godmother. The morning of my wedding Rhonda got to work before the sun was up, she was professional, knowledgable, friendly, and full of great conversation and so much bridal advice of the little thing you dont know on your wedding day, or at least things I didnt think of. She made me look absolutely flawless, I didnt feel cakey or that I looked like someone else, I felt light and natural and like all my natural beauty came out. I had requested a simple day look "air brushed bridal glow" is what I had asked for and she made me feel/look a million times better than what I ever thought. She had notes from the zoom meeting we did together about how I would have liked my hair and what tones I perfered. Over all I was beyond pleased with the outcome of my bridal look. To top it all off, things were a little crazy the morning of my wedding and Rhonda stopped packing up her hair and make up kits to help me get into my wedding dress and boots. If I could give here 101 star review I would!! -

Rhonda is absolutely incredible – she is a true artist and professional who goes above and beyond her scope of practice. First off, Rhonda has taken extra measures to ensure her makeup/hair styling is COVID-19 safe. Her safety and sanitation protocols are stellar – making both my mom and I feel at complete ease during both the trial and on the day of my wedding. Then talk about her expertise with hair and makeup, WOW!!!! My hair and makeup looked so natural and classy, and lasted throughout the entire night. I have never felt so beautiful. Rhonda even helped button up my dress, clean dirt off of the train of my wedding dress and had clothing tape to fasten the belt! I’m telling you, please don’t hesitate to book Rhonda. She made my day so incredibly special. -

Perfect look for the perfect day
I knew the moment we began talking on our Zoom consultation that Rhonda was the perfect person to do my hair and makeup for my wedding day. I'm someone that wears very little makeup on a regular basis. I was terrified to not look like myself. When she told me that her goal was to "make the best version of you", my nerves settled.
Rhonda took time to listen to what I wanted, questioned me in a way that made me think deeper about different looks, and also made suggested that pushed me to think outside of the typical wedding looks.
Rhonda was also extremely flexible, when my husband's 2 daughters also wanted to have their hair done for the wedding at the last minute. Both girls were glowing with the results. She gave both girls looks that suited their personalities and made them feel special.
My end result, was a look that I could have only imaged in my dreams. For the first time in my life, I felt sophisticated and absolutely beautiful. She truly brought out the best version of myself. And my husband was entranced. He could not stop telling me how beautiful I was.
I only wish I lived closer to Rhonda, so I could call on her for all the special events in my life. Anyone that is looking to have someone listen and help you see the best version of yourself, definitely needs to call Rhonda! It is an experience that will change how you see yourself!
My only regret about the whole experience...is that I do not live closer to Rhonda so I could use her for every special event in my life. -

Rhonda made me feel like a glamourous movie star on my special day! We went with a classic hollywood curl for my hair, and I received compliments from everyone at my intimate wedding. The eyeshadow was darker than I'm used to as I don't typically wear any, but it photographed so soft and beautiful! At the ceremony, my husband even commented how the makeup made my eyes look lighter brown. My professional photographer and her assistant kept commenting that my husband and I looked like models, lol. I've only received a few sneak peek photos so far, and I am super happy with how my hair and makeup looks. Rhonda also did my moms h&m, and even helped me with my little sisters hair when my mom couldn't figure out how to use my curling wand. Thank you so much Rhonda, you were a pleasure to talk to and you helped keep me calm and laughing amongst the chaos of it all. -

Rhonda did an absolutely incredible job with my hair and make-up for my wedding. I don't typically wear a lot of make-up and I'm very picky (I usually don't like how I look with professional hair and make-up), so I was really hoping for a very natural look. We did a video consultation ahead of time where Rhonda asked great questions, made keen observations, asked for pictures, and took notes about what I wanted.
On the day of my wedding, she did a fantastic job and I couldn't have been happier! I looked like myself (but the 2.0 version!) for my wedding--it was absolutely perfect. She also did a great job with my mom in almost no time at all.
Rhonda was beyond compliant with all COVID-19 restrictions. I felt completely safe and protected with the policies and gear she had implemented. I can't recommend her enough! -

Highly Recommend Rhonda!!
Rhonda is one of the most talented hair and makeup artists I know. I generally don’t wear a lot of makeup, and during a few trials with other makeup artists, I said I wanted to look natural, and well, I did not. I didn’t even have time to do a trial with Rhonda due to Covid but explained what I was looking for and she exceeded my expectations! I love loved my hair and makeup! Plus, she made me feel 100% safe! She went up and beyond the Covid sanitary guidelines, while still making me comfortable and relaxed. During my ceremony she was nearby ready for touch ups for photos after, and even helped me with my train. She’s honestly the best. -

Hire her!!
I loved my experience with Rhonda! She is a lovely person and did a fantastic job with hair and makeup for my wedding festivities. We did a trial run before my wedding in September over the summer at her house in Cambria. That day, she did my hair and makeup and was super receptive to the little feedback that I had. I have very sensitive skin so the fact that she was testing products on me to see if I had a reaction or not during the trial was very comforting. I also get hives on my chest during any big event - she covered it right up and had no issues at all with any of her products. My hair stayed in place all night as did my makeup. I didn't want to take it off!
Come the wedding day, Rhonda arrived early, ready with all of her gear for the big day and *crushed* it! My mom and all of my bridesmaids also noted to me after what a great job she did and what a nice person she was. I loved my makeup even more than my trial day and my hair was beautiful. We took photos on a cliff in Big Sur with 50 mph winds (or that's what it felt like) and my hair remained in tact, no pieces came out, and no adjusting was needed afterwards which was absolutely amazing. My makeup at midnight was just as good as it was right off of her chair. I'd recommend Rhonda to anyone! -

Awesome Hair and Makeup!
Rhonda was great! Her extensive experience doing hair and makeup in the tv/film industry and her calm demeanor makes her a perfect match for any bride on her wedding day. I am not used to wearing makeup everyday or doing anything special with my hair. Rhonda listened to my concerns but also was great to advise me about what would work for photos. In the end, I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and did not feel like I was wearing a ton of makeup. I would highly recommend her to any bride who wants to look their best! -

Rhonda Johnson was amazing! Not only was she fun to hang out with (luckily, since I spent like 4 hours with her on my wedding day) but she immediately grasped exactly what I wanted for my makeup and hair based on just a few pictures, and delivered it flawlessly.
