Amazing team and incredible work!

Brett Matthews Photography was INCREDIBLE! I am not over how truly beautiful the pictures from our wedding have come out. Sheri, Alexander, Juliana and the rest of the team could not have been a more perfect crew to share our wedding day with. We love them! Our parents and friends are all in awe of their work. From the engagement pictures shoot to our wedding day we couldn’t be happier with their work! Thank you Brett Matthews team - we love you all!

Chris from Brett Matthews was absolutely amazing and fantastic and made my wedding day even better than expected. He is super upbeat and easy to work with and so is his team. He taught me and my fiance how to pose in pictures to enhance great outcome of pictures and worked so well with our entire family. He exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great photographer in the tristate area. Love Chris and his team at Brett Matthews!!!

Brett Matthews photography was extraordinary!!! Sheri and her staff were amazing!!! From the spectacular photos of the bride and groom in the New York City streets to the beautiful breathtaking photos in central park .... It was magical!! They are outstanding photographers... true artists!

Brett Matthews photographed the wedding of a friend of ours over the summer, and our friend raved about Chris and his team so much that when it came time to hire a photographer, we didn't even look around; we went straight to Brett Matthews, and are SO happy that we did. Chris is an absolute pleasure to work with: fun, engaging, energetic -- and extremely talented. As a bonus, he is extremely experienced and helped the entire day to run smoothly. He was a comforting presence throughout the whole day! We could not be happier with the pictures we got, and spending the day of our wedding with him was like spending the day with a good friend. Our friends and family similarly enjoyed working with him that day. We would definitely recommend Chris and his team to any friend looking for a photographer (and have done so already)!

I worked with Toni who was amazing. My pictures are absolutely beautiful and i am going to have such a hard time making a decision for my albums. You get what you pay for when working with them and hands down they are the best on the long island. Thank you for capturing my day and making my photos gorgeous.

After obsessing over the photos from my brother in laws wedding and sister in laws maternity shoot, we knew we had to have Chris as our photographer for out wedding. He shot our engagement shoot and managed to find us the only autumn colored tree in August, uses his creative brilliance to take photos that even an artist couldn't dream of, and is a sweetheart on top of it. Him and his team (Nick and Fabio) we're phenomenal--never intrusive, always professional--made our day so much better by reminding us to relax and laugh. Can't wait to see the photos! I haven't received my proofs yet, but I'm confident based on my engagement pictures and my experience with Brett Matthews that they'll be great. The whole company was a pleasure to work with, and the photographer who I worked with for both engagement pictures and the wedding day (Chris) is fantastic. We had a main photographer, photojournalist, lighting assistant, and videographer. They couldn't have been nicer, and did great work. They were receptive to my requests, and did a great job of managing time to get it all done. At the reception, they were extremely unobtrusive but were easy to grab if I wanted a quick shot of something or someone. I can't wait to see the proofs and video!

Brett Matthews is an amazing photography studio. Every member of their staff is warm and helpful and they take the most amazing photos. We first noticed their work after visiting a few wedding reception locations and it seemed we would always gravitate to their albums as the pictures were so captivating and the colors so vivid and rich that it was as if you were there. They treated us like family from the minute we walked into the studio and was responsive every step of the way. I would recommend that everyone uses them for weddings, engagements, births or any function as their work is second to none. They are incredibly professional and punctual and the best part is that after taking engagement shots, the photographer spends time going through every picture with you to understand your likes and dislikes to ensure your wedding day is perfect and ours was definitely perfect

Best photographer by far. So accommodating, professional and they really get to know your personality before the wedding so the know how to approach the wedding day. I've seen their work and have had my engagement photos taken by them. So excited to see the final wedding photos and video. They truly make your day all about you and make it fabulous.

WOW!!!!! What a wonderful photographer to work with!!!! Sheri made me feel at ease the whole entire day. Her fun, enthusiastic nature made the whole picture taking process enjoyable. Her team was also awesome! I just saw a preview of her photos from our wedding day and to say we are thrilled with them is an understatement. They truly are works of art and we cannot wait to see the rest of our proofs. I highly recommend Sheri for any event you have.

This company is awesome. Everyone there is so professional and nice. My sister and close friend used them and we all have the most beautiful pictures (and each of us had different photographers). I HIGHLY recommend them.

Brett Matthews is nontraditional and very creative photography. Our engagement photos came out amazing. So many of our friends and family have told us how stunning they came out and how professional they were the day of the wedding. Chris was a our main photographer. He was a pleasure to work with! We felt really comfortable taking pictures with him. He made sure to take the ones that were very important to us yet made sure we were able to really enjoy our Wedding (inside of being stuck taking photos all day). He actually knew the names of each of our family members and who was on what side (bride and groom). If you go to there blog or website, you can see just how beautiful their pictures are. They really transformed the day into magic!

Our pictures are stunning! From the moment we walked in and worked with Seth, up to saying goodbye to chris at the end of our wedding night, every interaction was professional yes relaxed, fun, and enjoyable. our engagement pictures are stunning and i saw a few pictures that chris took the day of the wedding and they were stunning. couldn't have picked a better photographer!

Sherri and her team made Christopher and I so comfortable! We are not very comfortalbe in front of the camera - but she made it easy. Though I was not excited about it at first, I'm so glad that Sherri and the Brett Matthews team suggested we have a pre-wedding photo shoot first, to get used to the experience. We did it about a month before the wedding and I must say I don't think I've ever looked so good in a photograph! Then on the day of the wedding Sherri and her team arrived precisely on time and with more energy than I could have imagined! (perhaps it's the candy they brought along...). They were extremely creative and though I've only seen a handfull of the photographs thus far I know the rest will be wonderful. She was sure to send me a few 'previews' before we left for our honeymoon and those five first images are just spectacular! She immediately saw what was most important to us and focused on that! Through the wedding I know they were there and working but I barely noticed them... they allowed me to have the first dance without interruption (no "ok now pose...) which was also a very classy touch. I can't wait to see the rest of her work!! I HIGHlY recommend Brett Matthews!

Our original photographer got the flu the day we got married and the owner called me (not some flunky) and said she was sending her best guy...the one that trained her. He was great and made me feel comfortable especially on my wedding day when it could have been a horrible experience.

We worked with Rachel from Brett Matthews, and she and her crew are extremely talented. Our pictures were beautiful! They were creative and edgy but yet still had a timeless elegance to them. Her entire team was a pleasure to work with, they arrived super early on the wedding day and got to work right away. There was only 1 thing that was rough, is that you have to wait 8 weeks to see your proofs. It was torture, but in the end it was well worth the wait.

The entire crew at Brett Matthews was fabulous to work with! From our first meeting, I felt totally at ease, and was quickly enamored with their work--I could have sat there much longer than the first meeting, just looking through the wedding albums! All their work looked fantastic.

When we went for our engagement shoot, our photographer, Noah, was really down-to-earth and made the shoot really fun--he had some creative ideas for poses, and also was open to ideas we suggested. I was psyched to work with him again on our wedding day.

On our wedding day, the crew (photographer, photojournalist, and assistant) arrived right on time, and waited around patiently, shooting some candids while I was a little behind schedule. They were totally relaxed among the frenzy of bridesmaids and family members, and did their job without being in the way. Over the course of the day, they grabbed us at times when lighting seemed good to get some quick shots, which was really cool. We had A LOT of fun working with them, and I'm so excited to see our proofs. In general, a fantastic experience to work with them--very creative and accommodating, and they produce great stuff! And for what you're getting, the price isn't outrageous at all. I recommend them most highly!

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Noah from Brett Matthews. He was so personable and down to earth. he was also flexible with us as my husband and I didn't want to take pictures prior to the wedding. Although they recommended it they didn't force it with us and we appreciated that. The staff there is truly professional. I even did my boudoir pics with them - they made me feel so comfortable and didn't gie me any stress which is very important when planning a wedding.

The reason why I book this photographer was because I liked the fact that all your proofs are yours to keep. I wish the pictures were a little less staged and more free. The quality was good.

Brett Matthews Photography was great up until the day after the wedding! Chris was our energetic and eccentric photographer, but the fun ended after that!
Our album and video were late multiple times. They never call or contact you to tell you when things are ready. They lost our wedding video footage for more than a month and charge you for everything. The most annoying is how they print large shots in obscure frame sizes so you have to either get a custom made frame or guess what....buy from them.
The costs were double what I was quoted. I can't see how the photographers earn that much money! Our albumn and video is nice....not amazing and definitely not worth the 15K we spent!

QUALITY OF WEDDING PHOTOS: Some nice shots but not as many as I had hoped. Wasn't wowed like I expected to be. Lighting is off in a lot of photos. They didn't pay as much attention to detail as I would have expected from a high caliber photographer.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: It is very difficult to get someone to return your call (except Nicole or Danielle see below). The whole process from begining to end feels as though they are doing you a favor.

COSTS: After the wedding they nickel and dime you like crazy. Everything regarding the album is extra, even basics like a cover. Wedding trailer is an extra $600. They charge you to ship every little thing which just gets annoying.

DIGITAL IMAGES: My BIGGEST complaint about them is that they don't give your digital images (even after spending a lot on albums and portraits). I asked around and apparently this is NOT standard industry practice. If you want the "rights", you have to pay them a few hundred dollars per photo. They tell you that you get a disc with images that are "web ready". These are super low resolution thumbnails that are useless.

TIMING: It takes FOREVER to get anything done. It took 4 months for my proofs to come in (at that point the excitement of the wedding had died down). It took 9 months for them to do my album. Everything with them moves in slow motion.

VIDEO: My video is poor quality. Parts of it look like it was shot with a shaky camecorder while the rest of the video looks grainy and color/lighting is completely off. Also they completely botched the editing of my trailer but did agree to redo it.

PROS: Danielle and Nicole (who help you through the album process) are great and the only people that were at all available and answered my emails. They did a great job helping me put together and edit my album. I am very happy with the final product..

BOTTOM LINE: I wish I did more research before assuming they were the best. They aren't even close.
